This challenge is going to start Monday October 28. This will give us 30 days to lose what we want before thanksgiving. Surprise those relatives with the new you!

If you were in the Fall Challenge than you know how it goes.

Here are the basics. Give your weight at starting and your goal weight. If you want to wait right before the challenge that's fine. If you were on the fall challenge then we can use your weight at the end of the challenge.
You weigh on whatever day you choose and post at least once a week.

This is cool! I want to join! So I'm 245 now, I want to be 235 by Thanksgiving! Not sure if thats too much or too little.

UPDATE

Nov 5: I am 236.5 pounds now! .5 from goal and still far from thanksgiving so I'm going to go ahead and change my goal to 230! Wooo!

I want to join. I think this challenge will be exactly what I need. I will be weighing in daily and working to stay on track every single day up to Thanksgiving. I will be seeing people on Thanksgiving day who haven't seen me in person in months I want to get as much as I can off for that day.
Instead of starting the 28th though I want to start it tomorrow. I would start today but I don't have today's weigh in info.. I haven't been on track with my eating in days. I overeat just enough to keep me from dropping more weight. I've been sort of stuck around the same numbers a couple of weeks or so now.

So here I go.. I want to stay on track as many days as I can up until Thanksgiving day. I will log in my weight and exercise daily. I won't bother listing all my foods but I will put how that went too.
I hope you don't mind me doing this. I found your challenge would work perfect for what I need to do to stay accountable. I will think of a goal weight when I find out my weight in the morning. edited to add that my ticker and profile weights are wrong. I know I'm probably a pound or two higher now. is this ok? I can also weigh in weekly if you do a spreadsheet or something.

Oct 24-235 lbs exercise was 20 minute Jog and 10 minutes on Elliptical eating was great!:yes:
Oct 25-233 lbs exercise was 20 min. Jog and then later a 10 min jog. Eating was great!
Oct 26-231.2 20 min Jog I think ate a little too much in the evening.
Oct 28-334.2 so far 20 min Jog
Oct 29-234 Only 10 min Jog
Oct 30-234 Had a good day. No jogging though but went to clean my parents house. Got plenty of exercise there LOL

Sounds good. You can start tomorrow if you like. I think I will be starting Saturday. We are finishing up the fall challenge on that day and this one can start then for me since it is my normal weigh day. You post as often as you want about anything, this is your challenge and support thread for thanksgiving.

I'm going to jump in here.... thank you cleancowgirl...

I have been doing well but want to keep on that track. I will be seeing several people I have not seen since May and I would love to surprise them. I know they have heard me talking of it and seen some pictures but it's so different in person! I am going to start on Monday which just happens to be my official weigh in day! I usually weigh in every two weeks but, I think I will weigh in once a week for the challenge. Yay! Looking forward to this!

My Goal: Lose 10 Pounds

10/28 (Start): 282.4
11/4: 277.9
11/11: 279.2 - I need to drink more water. I have been very dehydrated and I think I am retaining a lot of water. Still the wrong way to go to meet my goal!

Good morning!
I was so happy to see 235 on this morning's weigh in. That's 60 lbs lost since the end of May. I will be busy this morning but I'm planning on doing great today with eating and exercise. I usually set 10 lb monthly goals.. and started to set that for my goal here.. but I think I'm going to 12 lbs! I will check back in later on today..

I am going to start a little early. Thanksgiving is on a Thurs so I thought I would start on a Thurs too. I am 226 today and at the end of this challenge I hope to be at least at 218.
During this time I really want to focus on spending more time on my treadmill. I have been doing 1.5 miles for a while and today I just bumped that up to 2 miles a day. I want to get up to 3 miles by Thanksgiving too.
And I should be able to get a ticker before then too!!!!

Hi everyone. I am jumping back on the wagon and would love to join you all. I will be starting Monday. My b day is this weekend and I know I probably wont stay on plan. I want to lose 10 pounds, stay in my calories range and exercise everyday. Will update Monday morning with my weight.

I was thrilled to see 233 this morning. That's a 2 lb drop from yesterday. I think eating right for 2 days is dropping some water weight. I will take it and run with it. LOL

Okay I am starting today! I was hoping to be another pound down but it is just very slow right now.
Starting at 220.0 and goal 210- I am going to go for 10 pounds which might be pushing it but that's what I am shooting for!

I would like to join your challenge for the motivation and encouragement. I haven't posted around here in a very long time. I've been around 305 for a long time but in the last week I've already lost 11 pounds. Amazing how you can start losing once you don't have much to eat. :) But the first of the month is soon so I'll be ok.

So I'm starting the challenge at 294. It's probably been 20 years since I've been below 300 so I am really psyched! I would like to reach 275 by Thanksgiving.

Hi, I'm 194 pounds and getting bigger. Damn this is really freaking me out because I can't believe that I've allowed myself to get to this size. Unbelievable. Anyway I'd like to start this challenge tomorrow. It's Monday here already in New Zealand so I'll be starting in the morning on Tuesday.
My goal weight is to lose 44 pounds, but I'll be happy just to lose 10 pounds by the end of the 30 days. I don't know how to use the measurement thingee. So I'll just pop in once a week with my results. Thanks again.

I will post my weekly weight but my scales suck. I really just want to fit in to a pair of Old Navy pants that I have had forever. I can button them but I don't think I could sit down in them with out busting out the button or splitting the rear end out LOL!!

That made me laugh about the pants. I bet we can all relate to that. I have the next size down pants in the closet I pull out once in a while. They aren't even close to buttoning yet. lol

I didn't get my walk in today, my 5 year old daughter has a stomach bug so I was cleaning up puke and cuddling with her. I just carried her to bed, not sure how much longer I will be able to do that :( But I ate within my calorie range and will get my walk in tomorrow. This will just count as a rest day. I try to get in 5 walks a week.

Ice cream and pizza are the 2 hardest things for me to stay away from. Awesome job for not giving in!!!!

I did my treadmill time today!!! I have managed to keep within my calorie range too even though I ate a small handful of reese's pieces. I also took a couple of pics of me in my way too tight pants. Hopefully I will be able to tell a difference by the end of this challenge. Once I can fit comfortably in those pants I will post the pics. I carry most of my weight in my belly so I hope that is where I will lose first.

Plan on carving the pumpkins tomorrow with the kids (well my husband will do the carving with the girls helping and I will take the pics) then if the weather is nice do my walk outside.

Hope everyone is staying on track :)

Mindful eating today! If you do have something you should not or need to work into your plan. It will be okay and it is only one day.
Today scale is 216.7 another pound down. Woo hoo!

I got up early and made a cake for my daughter. It is red velvet her favorite and I did not even lick the spoon! It is so red just turned me off. Raining here today so going to have to work on some exercise with my zumba dvd. I have had it since Christmas but never played it. I also have the biggest loser on xbox and might work with that too.

Just got back from trick or treat with the girls and I didn't eat any of the candy!!! I will probably have a little bit tomorrow but I will work it into my plan. I didn't walk on the treadmill but I will tomorrow. Did a lot of walking around the neighborhood through. If I can trust my scale I am down a little bit. It shows 224.5 now. My weigh day is tomorrow and I did have a small sliver of red velvet cake and two fun sized snicker bars but the scale is still about the same as yesterday.

I went for a 4 mile walk today and plan on doing some Christmas shopping today at the mall to get all my steps in. I aim for 10,000.

I was really slow last couple weeks. I actually increased my calories and started running( walking/running). It is important to remember when you have slow weeks, it will eventually show on the scale.

Well I decided to weigh myself today. I was trying to hold off till Monday, but I was to anxious. I was very surprised. The scale gave me a five pound loss. I have upped the exercise, but I was still very surprised. I weighed myself a couple times to make sure it wasn't a fluke.

Every day weighing is up and down per usual. Yesterday 183, today 185. My "baby" has officially weaned from nursing and I am so flippin' excited to have reached this milestone finally...and curious how it will effect my weightloss. Hopefully it won't make it even more difficult. I know the better sleep has certainly helped.

Zoe, my scale changes my weight every hour it seams. I have started taking pics of myself in those pants I want to fit into. I will still weigh myself once a week but I will really judge my progress by those pants.

Cleancowgirl congtats on your 4.2 pound drop. I hope one day to be a runner. Right now I am doing 2 miles most days on the treadmill. It adjusts my speeds from 2.8 up to 3.1 and I want to change the setting to go up to 3.1 and 3.4 in the next week or two. Any faster that that and I will be at a jog for my short legs.

Hope you all have a good weekend. I have to get my 5 yr old some new pants now that it is finally cooling down in SC. She grows so much from one season to the next. And I am going to choke the life out of my 15 yr old if she doesn't clean her room this weekend. I bribed her and told her she could pick out some boots if she has room done when I am ready to go shopping tomorrow. My husband is just looking forward to taking a nap with the dog tomorrow while all of us girls are shopping. Boring life, but I love it.

Not starting my day very good. I was the first one up this morning and ate 2 poptarts without thinking!!! Oh well, I'm not going to let that slip up turn into a whole day of junk eating. I will just log those calories and make sure to eat a more nutritious lunch and dinner. Sometimes I rest on Sundays too, but I am going to do my 2 miles on the treadmill today.

Today is my weigh in day, but I have the worst scale in the world. I stepped on and off the scale a bunch of times. I got readings between 222 and 224. So I am counting the lowest one for my weigh in today.

I see you are from western pa. Where are you from? I live in New Wilmington which is close to Sharon and about 40 minutes from butler.

I went shopping with my daughter yesterday. She wanted arbys, I had the farm house salad but with the lf dressing ended up being 1750 in soduim!! I try to keep mine under 2200mg and drank over 72 ounces water but the sodiym was a bit up. Weight 213.6 again. I am ok with that. Going to drink up today.
I am scheduled for 4 straight night shifts . Why did say I would work extra??? Oh yea Christmas.

I seen 219 this morning!!!!!! I am not going to officially count that until my weigh in day on Thursday, I hope it is still there by then. We still have 18 more days until Thanksgiving, I think I am now going to aim for 215.

cleancowgirl, I really have no idea how I am doing. The same day that I got a 219 I also got a 225. So I am either doing really good or really bad. I am just going to keep eating well, doing between 2 and 2.5 miles on the treadmill, and trying on "those" pants. I am taking a pic each week of me in those pants so I can look back and really see when my work pays off.
I eat when I get stressed so I am trying to get holiday menus worked out and the Christmas budget together. I think I am going to do most of my shopping on Amazon this year. I think I am going to add a new scale on the Christmas list LOL. I go to the doctor every 3 months ( for my diabetes check up)and they always take my weight, sometimes I think I should just work hard and be surprised every 3 months.
I hope we can all make it through the holidays without a gain.

Hanging in there. Thanks for asking, cleancowgirl. TOM is about to rear its ugly head and I have had the munchies all day. Got my exercise in though so that's good. I weigh in on fridays, so wont know for a couple days if I lost this week, but I always expect it to be wonky this time of month. Need to go shopping. Running out of healthy snacks.

Susan I remember you telling me you kept your scale in the trunk of your car to prevent you from weighing yourself too often. Cold and temp flucauations can make digital scales off. So make sure you keep the scale in a room temp room before weighing.

Wow, this month is a fight. I'm not doing anything different but the weight loss has definitely slowed. My target was to be under 183 today, but instead I'm185. I'll take it, but I wish it was bigger.

I am down to 213.2. Just .4 lbs but last night had a piece of salted caramel cake from a real bakery. Omg it was wonderful. The bakery is suppose to compete in cupcake wars and this flavor got this in the competition. I am starting a new plan today . It is dolvett quinces 3-1-2-1 program. Stll clean eating but says how on ce you must cheat to put your metabolism in a super fat burning mode. I highly reccomend the book. I am a nurse and thought I knew it all about ce but wow, totally makes sense why twice a week you need to cheat. There are some things I can tweek with his plan too that I can feel can make a difference and boy is he very inspiring.

Cleancowgirl, keep me updated on how the 3-1-2-1 plan works for you. I do a modified low carb and a lot of plans I have be reading recently say the same thing. You have to have a cheat day to keep hour metabolism going. Let me know if you stall. With the holidays approaching and holiday parties, a cheat day would be nice.

I moved my scale from the bathroom with the square tiles and the grout cracks to the hardwood floor in the hall and that seems to have helped me to get the same results when I step on and off several times in a row. I just got 218.5 and I think that is probably right. I need to look back through this thread and track my weight and the dates. I am still not focussing on the numbers too much. I just really want to be able to wear those pants soon. They button but I still have too much of a muffin top to be able to wear them to work. I was hoping I could by thanksgiving but now I am thinking I might have to wait until Christmas.

Susan How often do you eat? You should be eating every 3 hours or so, it will keep those sugars from dropping and having high spikes.

I do try to eat 5 times a day most days. I am having trouble I think because I am getting more exercise in everyday. I am on an insulin pump and I think I am going to need to change my basal settings and also my carb:insulin ratio. I wear a Dexcom CGM and I am even getting lows in the middle of the night and having to get something to eat or juice a few times a week.

Your body is probally needing less insulin and that is such a good thing. You are making wonderful progress.
I can't believe our challenge has a week left! We will be having a Christmas challenge if anyone is interested. I figure start the day after thanksgiving and we can run it though til new years eve. I am down to 211.4 still have 1.4 lbs to lose to make my goal but going to seriously try.

I will join the next challenge. I really need to post everyday and post how much walking I get in everyday. That should help me be more accountable too.
My scale is still up and down by at least 3 pounds with in 30 seconds. I need to get a new one I guess. Hopefully by the time the next challenge starts I will have figured out how to post pics on here. Since I don't trust my scale very much I have been taking pics every week or so of my self with "those" pants on to track my progress. I am actually telling a pretty good difference from the pictures.
I hope to see more people join in. I try to be more active and supportive in our next thread.
I need to get at least 15 miles in this last week to help me get as close as I can to 215.

Well there's no way I'm getting to goal this month. I seem to be entering a new phase in my weight loss. Need to adjust to the idea that it might be slower for now, might even stop at some point. So at the moment it's a mental battle, learning the difference between what I can control (how much I eat and exercise) and what I can't (how much weight I lose).

A disappointing month to be sure, since my weight loss each month until now has been in the double digits. But sooner or later, it was going to slow.

Accepting my 'failure' was thus the big victory this month. As an overachieving emotional eater, learning to accept when things don't go my way is so hard. I feel like this month really taught me that.
