Last work day before long weekend! Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

My goal today is to move slowly enough that I don't aggravate my back, that I don't sit for too long (even though it really hurts to stand up, it's worse if I don't), and that I don't get upset at my weigh in because I know that inflammation causes water retention.

Kids are off today, so no lunches to make! I love not making kids lunches!

Have a great Friday everyone!

Thanks to Lisa I went to the site she mentioned on yesterdays daily chat evepets blog: http://diettalktoday.com/alternative-products-for-breakfast/

I found an alternative for the IP crispy cereal:

For Cereal Lovers:

The only Ideal Protein cold cereal packet I’m aware of is their Crispy Cereal, which has: 110 cals; 18g protein; 2g fat; 7g carbs; 1g sugar; 0g fiber; and 210mg sodium. It contains Sucralose.

I’ve been using a cold cereal called Smaps, made by Dixie Diner. It’s tasty and crunchy, a bit like rice krispies, with a sweet maple flavoring that makes it good enough for a snack from time to time. I eat it with about 1/2 of unsweetened almond milk – or dry sometimes as a snack food. A bag contains 16 servings of 1/2 cup each, at a cost of CA$12.49 + taxes. This is another product I’ve been buying online from thelowcarbgrocery.com. It’s nutritional values per 1/2 cup of dry cereal are: 81 cals; 2g fat; 8g carb; 6g fiber; 1g sugar; 15g protein; 0g cholesterol; 31mg sodium; 129mg potassium.

Good Morning IPers, happy Friday, and Happy Thanksgiving northern neighbors!

LittleStar, take it easy on your back, and you have the right attitude, don't let the scale get you down if it reflects some water retention.

Happy Friday all! And happy day before Thanksgiving long weekend to my fellow Canucks!

Today is rainy and yucky after a week of nice weather and of course, my son has an outdoor field trip today. Oh well, he won't melt  Went to his volleyball tournament at another school yesterday and it was nice to see some kids and parents from baseball, soccer and hockey. It was also nice to get all the compliments on my weight loss, felt good.

I did take a picture of the hot pink skinny jeans but it won't let me upload it, boo! If I can figure out how to use it as my avatar without it being sideways, I'll put it there :D

LittleStar - definitely take it slower and easy on your back and good luck with your WI!

vachinyc - made your Peanut Butter stirfry for supper last night - yum, yum, yum! Did it with the cabbage and wow, was it good .

Gotta run and find the rain poncho for the kiddo!

Ok first let me start by saying HAPPY FLIPPIN FRIDAY!
Congrats to all the NSV/Losses and baggy clothes.

Ok you all know that this week has stunk and was kraptastic. Today is off to a kraptastic start already. And dh did nothing for me for my b-day, it is just a b-day but it breaks my heart knowing that work was more important than other things.

So today I stepped on the scale to see that I had gained 0.2 lbs!!!! I was expecting a 1-3lb gain........ but it is so minimal YAHOOO HOOOOO!!

Anyways I am waiting for my mom or dad to call with a report from the insurance schmuck today.

You know stress causes water retention....in a while when things settle down..and you get on a more even emotional spot, I bet you lose a tad more... and get to where you should be. I'm still bouncing from medical stuff this week. Figure it will be another week til my body has purges all the stuff I had to drink and have injected. The wise ones that remind us all to give things time when there is "junk" going on ... are right.

Morning everyone! I weighed in yesterday with my coach... things are definitely slowing down but I'm continuing a steady loss. Still haven't hit -50lbs yet, but I will soon! I asked her to add up my measurements and I was shocked at what she told me:
Arms: 2"
Chest: 4.5"
Thorax: 4.5"
Waist: 5"
Hips: 6.5"
Thighs: 4"
I couldn't believe how proportionate everything was and OMG at my hips! Sometimes it takes a different perspective to keep us moving...

Also, she opened up a bag of the new chips for me to try. They're pretty good but have a STRONG garlic flavor that sticks around a while. Anyone else like/hate them?

Have a great day everyone!!

Way to go on your measurements - fantastic results!!

I find those chips are nice and crunchy and you get quite a few in a bag, but the flavour is strong and your mouth gets really dry. I have started eating them with mockamole or salsa and they are delish!

Morning all. Had an eventful night. Went to a local club to hear a book reading by Chuck Pahliank (Fight Club)) but about half an hour into it my sweetie apparently over heatted and passed out.. He had gone to the bathroom but didn
t tell me he was feeling bad. He fell and knocked himself out. Busted open his head. so 6 stitches and 6 hours later we made it home. I had an eas drink about 4:30am before I laid down. guess its going to be an extra packet day.

Keeping an eye on him, Doc did say there was a concussion. not the kind of excitement I was looking for!

TGIF!! What a gorgeous day here on the east coast!!

Lisa just bought Syntrax unflavored at the local Nutrition store, I cant wait to make a big pot of minestrone soup. I'm going to freeze some and think I will add the protein powder when it I eat it. Is that what you do so that the right proportion of protein is per serving?

Out to walk with the dogs........

Good morning all! Checking in before the madness begins. So much happening around here but sounds like everyone is doing pretty good, but for the all nighters, forgotten birthdays and bashed head! Yikes! Life continues here. Boyfriend has lost about 9.5 pounds in 2.5 weeks on a modified IP program (akin to P2). He is liking it and got a new scale yesterday which is a drastic improvement from his old, see the #s spin around one he had before. Unfortunately I am now tempted to jump on it more often. Gotta risk that temptation.

I am excited to be heading to my Mom's house in NC on the 25th and I am so excited. My brothers and their wives and kids will be there, along with my grandmother. I am excited. They haven't seen me since I started IP so it will be interesting. This morning, however, I did some advance planning and let her know my food restrictions, that I am happy to do my own grocery shopping and cooking, etc. We shall see!

Morning everyone! I weighed in yesterday with my coach... things are definitely slowing down but I'm continuing a steady loss. Still haven't hit -50lbs yet, but I will soon! That's awesome with the measurements and everything! How is the C25K coming?

Good Morning everyone.

I just joined TFCs yesterday. I've been doing IP since July 1st. It's been going well so far. :) I was really happy to discover this board.

I had a bit of a rough week. It was my TOM and it was extremely painful this time around. Actually, since I started IP it's gotten worse. Has anyone else experienced that?

Missed catching up with everyone for a few days.

Unexpectedly had to dash across state to rescue son #2 after painful surgery, drop in grades, personal conflicts, etc. Long trip 10 hours round trip, "slept" on the floor of his dorm in sleeping bag. I think we settled a lot of things but it is so hard to see him just cry and beg to come home as if that would settle everything!

And, because I am usually based out of home, my car and my purse was not stocked. I grabbed a change of clothes and my toothbrush but nothing more.

I DID manage to stay 100% OP. Most of the time it was easy, but driving back home after leaving him, worried as Moms can be, I dreamed, thought, fantasized, craved EVERYTHING I should not. I had the munchies so bad. I thought eating French fries from the bag would be so easy as I was driving through the monotonous hills. Then KFC chicken and so my day went.

DID NOT BUDGE! I finally stopped after about 4 hours and went to Wendy's, got a chicken pecan salad, ditched the dressing, the apples, the cheese, the candied pecans. Survived.

Now fingers crossed that my treasured and beloved son will find the strength to tackle his challenges. Strange day today - disoriented.

Hi all! What a crazy week and sounds like it has been for many others too. But I am happy to report that after last weeks water retention/constipation issues I was down 5.5 this morning, so lost the 3.5 gain from last week plus 2, pretty good. I am going to have to get more serious about alternatives because clear that this much soy does not sit well! Have a great op weekend!

For the last month and a half I have been working out 5-6 days a week. Tried so hard to wake up before work this morning (5AM) and just couldn't do it. My boyfriend works swing shift and his days off are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Where as I have the typical M-F 8-5 job. It makes it hard to spend time with him but also get in my exercise unless I go in the mornings, so feeling a little disappointed that I didn't make it to the gym, but I will make it up tomorrow.

Happy Friday everyone!!

I am on the verge of an emotional breakdown today :(

sarah - I know from your previous entries that you are facing a hugely emotional time that many of us would be unable to even guess at. Particularly when challenges arise with parents or children arise, it is even more painful because we can't always fix their problems the way we would like to.

To be caught up in bureaucracy must be very frustrating - pay all your dues and insurance charges all your life and then still to be treated so savagely is so wrong.

Know that many of us here are putting you and your parents in our thoughts and prayers - sending you strength.

I am just in tears all day today, this week has been he77 for me and my family. It is the worst feeling in the world when you cannot fix something that is broken and not working. My parents are stressed out and worried sick. Dad just settled with the insurance company for just the house not the personal belongings yet **another damn battle**

I am so close to them but yet too far away to just jump in the car and go there and help (4hrs drive one way) . I have no appetite really............:(

Sarah,

I grew up during war in my country and I grew up seeing people losing their homes in a second and much more. We used to always have a saying, a kind of a proverb that roughly translate to "it's ok to lose material belongings than those they belong to", I know it is devastating, but just try to focus on the blessing that your parents are still there to survive this, family is there and this is all that matters.

Thank you so much. I am beyond grateful they survived, and I know it is just stuff...........but with the cold temps coming and snow I just want them back into a house, my nephews live with them, they need to be able to come home and have life back on track. I am so glad I stumbled along this site. I love all of the support and information. At just Day 6 of IP, I can honestly say I have spent more time in the kitchen cooking these past six days than in the past 6 months. I love to cook, but the stress of everyday life seemed to push that task to the background. Having some crustless quiche and turnips with mustard sauce for dinner! :carrot: And loving the Thanksgiving ideas from the neighbors to north! thanks, Dee

Strange day today - disoriented.
your post made me cry as I had quite a few trips like that, to say the least. Boy, do I understand. SO SO proud of you for not letting your emotions overcome your will! you are my role model.
