100 lb. Club - Labor Day Challenge, anyone??

Labor Day is on September 1, which is 9 weeks and 3 days away.
I'd like to be 200 lbs. by Labor Day. Actually, I'd like to be in Onderland by September 1, but I will shoot for 200 even.
I like these challenges. Even if I don't succeed, the challenge provides something to strive for. And I don't think it has to be a number on the scale, by the way. The challenge could be fitting into one smaller size by Labor Day, or using the next notch on your belt by Labor Day, or going two weeks entirely on your program by Labor Day.

I'd like to be 12 pounds lighter, which would make me pretty much at my goal weight. Sept 1 is the first day of spring (here anyway) and my wedding annerversy. Would be lovely to be that much lighter by then. I'm barely losing anything lately and need to keep working at it.

I'd like to be 250 or less.

Is 2 lbs/week reasonable?

I would like to fit into the three pairs of brand-new size 16 slacks I have hanging in my closet. I've never worn them. I ordered them through a catalog about a year ago, but never bothered to send them back.

Well I'm going to try this, I just stepped on the scale and it reads : 278lbs, YUCK!!!!!
So my goal is going to be to go down to 270lbs by labor day. That is very reasonable and I feel I can do that. I'm not on any plan, I'm just going to watch the portion size and get in a workout a day. Oh, an water, water, water.
I think I'm going to shoot for 215 (loss of thirteen pounds). I was hoping I'd be in Onederland by then, but there's no way. It's not looking good for my July 4 goal -- maybe I'll have better luck with Labor Day :)

my goal for Labor Day is to be 165 lbs.
That is about 15 lbs

Seriously, I think 20# in 2 months is not too much to ask, especially now that the weather is nice. So my Labor Day Goal is 260.
Maybe a challenge will be just what I need to get my butt back in gear. The losing has really slowed down lately. Perhaps this is connected with the eating, which has really sped up lately! By labor day I'd like to be in the 140s. So that's 7 pounds to hit 149. A fairly realistic goal, although I've slowed down to about 1/2 a pound a week. Time to pick up the pace. Excellent. Gulp.

I'd like to be 280 then. If I really work hard, I think I can lose 20 more pounds in these 2 months.

I would love to be at 230 (-16) by Labor Day but would be happy at 235 (-11). By Columbus Day I'm hoping to be at 225, I'm going back to Florida to see my sis again, and would like to look better in the beach pictures. I guess if I'd kick things back into high gear that shouldn't be too hard of a goal, but one never knows what the body is going to decide to do!

Hmm, was at 207.6 last weigh in (and I won't be getting on the scale any time soon till I "readjust" for the last two days). I've been losing very slowly so I'll aim for 204 and hope to work at doing much better.

My Labor Day Goal is 180. I haven't been that low since my husband and I got married 8 years ago. That would be great!! If I can stay on track, I may reach my goal by Christmas.

I think that I would like to be at 205, that is about 15 pounds. I am going to get a new resolve, and hopefully, with student teaching starting in two weeks, I'll actually be able to avoid the eating all of the time.

Well I when i posted my goal I hadn't weighed in about two months. And I am already at 316 :D...So new goal is to be 300!...

Might as well jump back in with both feet. I'm an old-timer (two years ago) who stopped hanging out here when I got pregnant. Now that I'm over the 300 mark and pretty annoyed with myself, I'm back.
So Labor day is 6 weeks away. My goal is not numeric (since I'm not quite sure how heavy I really am -- my scale gets weird above 305 or so). Instead, my goals are to:
increase my intake of milk and water
decrease my intake of soda and sweet tea
decrease my fat/snack intake
increase my veggie/fruit intake
increase my daily activity level by walking more and taking the stairs at least once a day
increase my weekly activity level by doing a special activity at least three times a week: aerobics, a long walk in the neighborhood, gardening, swimming

At this point, it's a little more than 6 weeks away. I'll try for 17lbs, 235 - 5lbs from 10%.

I'm signing up for being in a size 14 missy (not woman's size) by Labor Day.
That should be somewhere around a 25 pound drop, but I think I can do it.

Yes probably so Matt. But I aim low and hope high. That way I'm not disapointed. I like to keep my average loss at 3 lbs a week. Right now it is 5 lbs a week. If I can keep it at 3 I will be at goal in August of 2004. If I keep it at 2 it will be January 2005. Either way I'll be happy. All though I would like to see the Aug date of course.

I made my first "mini" goal... 10# gone.
Am aiming for another 10# gone by Aug 20.
It'll be a miracle to make my 3rd to@ by Labor Day.... but if I average 3#/week instead of 2... I could make it.

Just realized we're 3 weeks and 6 days away from Labor Day! Didn't we just start this challenge?
Not to be pessimistic, but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to make my goal--losing 3 lbs. a week isn't in the cards for me. But I'm okay with that!
Think I'll update my goal and see if I can get into the pair of shorts I bought without having to move the button over. Yeah, that's my new goal.
Anyone else want to update or has anyone met their goal already?

That's almost 4 weeks. I still have a slim shot at making mine. That will be a little over 3 lbs a week. But if I don't I don't care because as long as I'm still going down that is all that matters to me.

I thought I would pull this thread up again as a check in on progress. I lost less than 2 pounds this week and that gives me over 10 pounds to go if I am going to meet my goal.
3 weeks and 10 pounds. Its possible!

Okay, i am going to hop in, for a mini labor day goal, if you all don't mind that i am hopping in at the 11th hour.........i think, lets see, how about 10 lbs, since this is my first week back on program in a long time i think i can do it........i will keep you posted!!!!

Ok, I'm game for this.. I've got more motivation today as I'm going to a Nascar meet and greet with my favorite driver on Sept. 11th and wanted to be as fit as possible!
My goal: 207 (that's 10 lbs) and a non-stretchy size 16 (ahem, no girdle or stretch out on the bed to get them zipped!)

We're getting closer, how's everyone doing? I'm 2 away from my high goal, and 7 from the lower one, am thinking I could make the lower one (230) at this point. We'll have to see how WI goes on Tuesday--should meet the high goal (235).
Have bigger incentive to meet the goals now, my sister is coming home from Florida for Labor Day Weekend, she missed us so much, and we found an awesome fare for her. The last time I saw here I was at 250 or so, this would be great!

I know it's kind of late to join a Labour Day challenge now, especially when my weight loss sometimes doesn't exceed .1 of a pound a week these days - but I need some incentive so I'll shot for being in the 150's by Labour Day (and 159.9 counts, right?) ;)
