Default Unusual Reasons You're Glad To Have Lost Weight?

Sometimes there are NSVs or experiences that make you so glad to have lost weight. It can be the little things (like the fact I wore a belt around my waist today and I actually HAD a waist) or big things.

Last week, I had one of the "big things". Many years ago my spouse was married and I met him after the divorce. There were no kids involved so I've never met his ex. It's been a bit of a mystery all these years and you can't help but be curious. Well, I finally met her in an unexpected place and I was so glad I lost the weight I've lost so far so that I felt more confident. I was also glad I treated myself to a gorgeous new outfit in celebration of the 20 lb. loss because I just so happened to be wearing it when we met! She was nice. I was nice. It was over but I still was so glad that I looked better than I had. Is that dumb?

Have you had any moments, unexpected or otherwise, that have made you especially happy to be thinner even if you're not yet at goal?

Yes, today I wore a swimsuit that I'd bought when I was 5kg heavier. Even though I had to suck in my stomach I'm so glad I lost weight.

Happy to be thinner everytime I go back to my hometown...for several years I didn't want to go out because I was afraid (VERY SMALL TOWN) that I would run into people. Now, I am confident and feel good about 10 years post high school run-ins whereas before I would have liked to go out in a burlap bag.

LOVE this!! In the same vein, the other day, I looked at DH and said "Do my panties look bigger to you? They seem really... baggy." Weird but true! So glad to have baggy saggy undies. Soon I'll have new pretty undies.

The shock to my ears of having a stranger, who never saw me heavy, refer to me as tiny...

I haven't lost much yet (though I did a few years ago) and I guess I am glad I've lost weight because I feel productive again! Whenever I am not trying to lose I just feel like no matter what I do, I haven't achieved anything in a day.

That's a huge one for me. I play with it constantly now.

I have a great aunt that is nearly 90 and has always been extremely judgmental about those of us in my family that are heavy. I saw her in May, and I was so glad that a) she never saw me at my absolute heaviest and b) that I was probably smaller than the last time she saw me. Ditto with a lot of other relatives I saw this summer that I haven't seen in years.

Secondly, I started dieting around the time both my cousin and my friend got engaged. Very glad that I did, because about 80 pounds down, I was asked to be a bridesmaid for my friend. I just barely fit the biggest dress I could get. Had she asked me earlier (I was a fill in for a girl that dropped out), I wouldn't have been able to wear the dress.

I love that I can get up in the morning and my feet no longer hurt! I could barely walk.

When I go into the bathroom, I don't get disgusted with myself in the mirror. I take a peek at my profile and smile....

And my hubby looks at my butt constantly....lol
