I'm giving it a go! I am sooo frustrated with my weight loss at the moment. I have been bouncing back and forth between 227-229 for two weeks. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. I am drinking tons of water and eating the same foods that I always have. I know two weeks isn't exactly a plateau, but it's still frustrating to me after losing so steadily. But it's gonna happen! :)

I'm in! I will have about 40 lbs to go, so it's a little (okay, a lot) ambitious, but I will still try. If not by Christmas, at least by the 1st of the year. We'll see what kind of progress I can make, lol. Best of luck everyone!

I'm in. Actual goal at 2 pounds a week would be under 200 by December first. But we all know its hard to make that sort of pace last. By Christmas would be an really nice Christmas present. Really looking forward to having my girl curves come back (rather than the blob). Just starting to see hints of them.

I think i can make this happen... im currently 241 and doing a juicing detox as i just started over on 9/9 so this first month my numbers are going to be crazy. onederland for christmas will be the best gift ever and excellent motivation to keep it going for the new year. Im excited!! i love this challenge! Im definitely in!

Awww... Don't let him get you so mad that you take it out on yourself! Go outside instead and get your heart rate up by kickboxing a punching bag.

I am slowly closing in on my onederland goal. Even though the scale isn't moving well, I am noticing a lot of subtle changes in my shape and body composition. And my boyfriend is noticing that holding and hugging and cuddling me feels different. I wore a fitted t-shirt to work the other day instead of a scrub top, and people kept saying "You look awesome!" Which was a great motivator when some evil soul put cake in the break room. My friend held my hand and said "We're singing happy birthday, and we're getting out of here. You look too awesome to blow it on this cake." Pity though, the cake was from my favorite bakery. But that's OK, I can always have more cake on another day when I'll enjoy it with a cup of coffee with people I love. Not scarfed down from a paper plate between patients.

cheeriloos - It's hard for me too not to eat when I'm discouraged or angry. But I've really come a long way since I started recognizing when those feelings are making me eat, instead of really being hungry. I think recognizing it is more than half the battle!

You are working too hard to let anyone do that to you!

I haven't weighed myself since last Wednesday - going to do it this Wed. It's been really hard to stay off the scale. I was getting bummed cause I was on plan and the scale wasn't moving, so a little break is good. I sure hope I see a new low number when I check in on Wed. :-)

So nice to see everyone that is jumping in on this thread. Love the support on this forum!

Lillith you're right and I have been picking up on it, maybe thats why I'm still doing well because even though I'm of plan,I see it and feel why and stop shorter than I would have before, also weighing in daily is a huge motivator,i feel like I may do this everyday of my life even when maintaining just to keep myself in check

YAY, I got to add another :yay:!! I'm so glad I stayed off the scale all week - I was getting discouraged with the little ups and downs. So, I stayed on track all week and stepped up my exercise. Today I was 220.2!!!!!!! That's down 3.8 pounds for the week. I'm thrilled.

I've been exercising just a little bit, with different things each day - 15 mins of resistance band, 10 mins of stationery bike, 15 minutes walking at night with the dogs, and on a good day a bit of extra activity with hubby (hey whatever burns calories and is fun works right? LOL). So really not a ton of exercise but it is paying off.

I wanted to be at 220 by Oct 1. Meeting a goal sooner than expected makes me want to :carrot:

I hope all is well for everyone - work has been busy so I haven't had much time to post.

A trainer at the gym told me it is because your metabolism is trying to find your set weight. A lot of times I will hold at a certain weight for days or a week with little movement and then whoosh 4-5 lbs gone.

cleancowgirl - Oh yeah, I've definitely had a few set point stops along the way. I also heard that at one point your body was at the weight that it likes to get stuck at so it's programmed in your head as a set point.

So, the scale was kind to me today! I think getting proper sleep definitely helped! Settled back down to 235.6, which sounds more accurate. Whew!

cleancowgirl: The 230's are always the toughest for me to get through for some reason, so I feel you. I agree that it's just one of those "body's natural settings" type of things. But, we'll get out soon...you especially! You'll be in the 220's in a heartbeat. :yes:

Hi Everyone! So cool to see all the great energy and support in this thread!!

Tomorrow is my weigh day. I was 220.2 last Wednesday, and I really hope to see 219 or less tomorrow morning. I have been doing some resistance training and exercising more so I wonder if I may have put on muscle - I'm a little worried about what I'll see in the morning, but excited too.

Yesterday, I gave my grown (18) year old daughter a hug and she said "Mom, you are so skinny, it's weird!" LOL. I'm far from skinny but it was really cool that she noticed.

Pretty sure I'll be looking sexy for Santa this year :-) woohoo!

Today is weigh day:
I am totally loving this weigh once a week thing! Today I am 216.4!! That's better than I hoped for and I've passed another goal (220 by 10/1). Also, and probably most important - I've made it to a lower BMI level - severely obese instead of very severely obese. LOL that this seems like such an accomplishment, but it really does!! Overall it's a 17% loss of my total body weight. :yay: :yay: :yay:

I am just on cloud 9 today - I can't believe it's working this time!!

Hi everyone! I'm late to the party, but I had a big whoosh this week and I think I might actually have a shot at this challenge :carrot: My official weekly weigh-in was this morning. I am now 221 lbs. It's pretty daunting to think of motoring through some upcoming food-laden holidays. Fingers crossed!

It's great to see some familiar names that moved on again to lower threads than where I am :) glad to see all the progress /waves@Llilith and also thank you for starting this thread!

So, this week just gone I lost 2.6 lbs which is great as I'm always around the 3lb mark. I can't believe I'm under 225, and soooo close to 40lbs lost that my ticker seems to think I'm there already - 40lbs!!! Where did it all go?! Aaaaannnnd, not too far from my 2-teens!

I'm on this other forum and we're having a halloween challenge, I said by then I want to be 215 as I was able to work out that it was around 9lbs a month I needed to lose to be at 199 by Christmas. It would be amazing to do both. Maybe a Thanksgiving one too...I hope to be at about 207 by then I guess - these numbers are just blowing my mind that I can actually believe I really can do this!

I haven't posted a while on here. Last week only lost .8 and this week already down about a pound. Currently at 227.3. I really doubt making my goal but right now just keep pushing.

I started weight training in September, with all the associated water retention. I bounced around the same 4 pound range all month, mostly on the higher end. Well I stuck to it, and yesterday I peed out about 4 pounds worth of water weight! Today I'm 214.6, a new low for me since getting this heavy. I might actually be on my way!

Well, I'm done to 220.6 today, and 2.8 pounds lost since last Monday, so it seems being on the phen caps supplement and not being on phentermine is doing good for me. I also feel better too, I'd kinda gotten used to the nausea and now it's gone it's a relief, plus I have been sleeping better these last couple days too.

Oh, and something I just realized today is that I'm past a third of my main goal and a third of my onderland goal!!

HelloNurse - I didn't know that weight training was associated with water retention. I wonder if the same is true with the resistance bands. You must be so stoked about being down to 214.6 - congrats! Hey, I just realize, we are the same height and almost exactly the same weight. Today is my weigh day and I'm down 1.4 pounds. My loss seems to be slowing but still moving in the right direction! Soon, I'll get to add another :yay: - it's the little things, isn't it? lol

I caught site of myself in a big window yesterday and didn't recognize my reflection - that was so cool. My entire silhouette has changed, and everyone is noticing now. My sister said that I "look totally different now". My face has changed so much, its weird how different I look. I'm a happy woman! 15.4 pounds to go til Onederland. :carrot:

I was 218.6 last weekend but I'm bloated up a few pounds from a few days of not eating well.

I have not been under 200 since 2000. And was so close 2 years ago.

Hey Llilith, doing great!! It is the little things, I agree!! I get excited about changing my tickers every Monday even now!

I also do that too sometimes when I look in the mirror now, if just catch sight of myself while I'm washing my hands or something, it can be a surprise, like, 'hey, I forgot I can see my neck now!' And I'm starting to see a bit more of a waist emerging! - Here come the new silhouettes!!

The supplement is called phen caps. I've been chatting with a few people on another forum who take it and it seems to be effective for all of us, we're all losing 1-3 pounds a week so I guess it's a slow and steady method but I think that's the best way for long term loss.

Popping in to say, "Hi!" and stop by with my mid-week check-in.... such good news, all the way around :) We are transforming ourselves, one partial pound at a time.

As of this morning, I'm down to 218 - super thrilled. It's 2 lbs down from my official weekly weigh-in day (Mondays.) I haven't seen this type of number for around 12 years, so it represents quite a trip in the way-back machine. I have been hungry all week, and I ran out of a lot of my go-to foods early, so it hasn't been a pleasant week for dieting. So glad to be going to the grocery store today!

Onward and downward :cheer:

My work is really stressful right now, and it will be through the end of the year. I'm proud that I've been coping without using food. In the past, I would load up on carbs when I got stressed.

*barely* held on to 218, which was my mid-week weigh-in, on my official weekly weigh-in day which was today... 2 lbs weight loss for the week yay :) Still on track to hopefully succeed at this challenge.

It's hard to believe that I could possibly get under 200 lbs. That was something I gave up on a long time ago, but it seems at least possible now!

YES YES YES - I was actually wondering if I was going crazy over this! I always feel like I rip through the first 5 pounds of a new decade and then the last five take forever. I was at 223 this morning and I'm so done with the 220's!

I am thinking positively despite a less successful than usual week due to not having the time to exercise and go to the market for fresh supplies as my daughter was sick and off school for most of the week. But, 1.3 pounds is ok and I'm closer to my onderland goal, which is the main thing right?!

Sounds like a fluid retention issue to me. Have you tried lemon water? That usually helps me get rid of excess fluid, especially right around shark week.

I squeeze the juice into a big bottle or glass of ice water, then I throw the rest of the lemon in there to sort of "infuse" over the rest of the day. It's very refreshing. I love lemons, so I can use up to a half lemon per glass of water. Really all you need is a wedge though. Lemon juice is a natural diuretic. It's also said to help cellulite, but I haven't seen a difference there.

For extra tasty pleasures, use a good bubbly water like Perrier even plain club soda, or diet tonic water. The quinine in tonic water is a natural antidepressant, so the mixture will make you feel so good and healthy all day.

I got stuck right around 217 also. Then once I got the next two pounds off, the weight started to fly off again. I seem to do that a lot. I will get stuck at a weird random weight, but once I break through it I fall through the next few pounds with no problem for a couple weeks. Then the cycle happens again. I figure it's an apple/insulin thing.

Jen you are still doing good. I go through that too, think our body has to get use to a set point. I have read about every 20 lbs our body has to adjust. I bounced between the low 220's for two weeks and then it started flowing again.

Weight still holding at 218.3. I was 217.2 yesterday but due to working night shift did not get all my water in so drinking up today. I did go for my 5 mile run and today ran for 2 miles without stopping. I feel awesome doing it! Christmas is aprox 8 weeks away and got a little over 18 lbs to lose but thinking I might be able to do this if not I will be there by New years!
My dh comes home today from his 3 week hunting trip. I have lost 6 lbs since he left and also got some new size 16 jeans that fit well. I feel like I am making so much progress lately.

I'm happy to report I completed my first challenge, which was to be 215 by Halloween. I was 215.6 on Monday so I didn't think I'd make it but then I had a whooshy few days and weighed in at 214.2 today! So I lost the same amount in 3 days as I lost all week last week! It must have been water weight I guess.

Now, I have just under 8 weeks to lose 15 pounds which I think is do-able...

Road trip in late October = 2 pound gain. It took me a week to lose those 2 pounds and get back to my pre-road trip weight and and then another 2 pounds down this week. I'm at 217 now. I usually lose 2 pounds per week so it will be TIGHT to make this challenge, but I'll keep trying!

Hey Llilith! That's such a shame about your plateau when you're soo close! Do you think it could be because you're so busy with work? I've been reading how stress is one of the biggest enemies of weight loss, and also lack of sleep - it's all connected.

Road trips are soo hard Frances! Road trips are a nightmare if you're trying to eat healthy but I'm sure you'll go back to your normal losses once you get back into a normal routine!

Everyone is inching closer and closer to wonderland! We're not letting plateaus or even small gains stand in our way :) :)

I'm 207 lbs today, which is a somewhat lackluster lbs loss from my official weigh-in day this past Monday, but I'm not complaining!

Do you ever have one of those days when you wake up really hungry and you know you are going to have one of those hungry-all-day kinda days? Today is one of those days, lol :cbg:

I typically have one of those if I get less than my calories the day before or overloaded with carbs.

Today official weigh in at 209.9. Loss this week of 3.3 lbs! There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Who would have thought I would be this close with still a month til Christmas!

Guys, I don't think I'm going to make it in this challenge! My weight loss was moving along steadily at 2 pounds a week - which is the max for me - and then it just stalled. I'm getting ready to leave on another road trip, where there will be Thanksgiving and birthday celebrations. Home, and then it's MY birthday (cake, etc.), and then 3 weeks here before leaving for big Christmas celebrations in another state. I'm at 216.8 right now and my new goal is to be at 212 by the time we leave for our Christmas celebrations...but I'll still follow this thread and cheer you guys on! :)

YAY!!!!! I'm so happy for you CrazyCat. This is a really big accomplishment - I never thought I'd see it.

And yay for everyone else who is working so hard for this! There are still 4 weeks left - keep on kicking ***!

So I set my xmas goal at 195 now. We'll see. :-)

I think it's totally good to adjust your goal so you can meet it and not get discouraged. I know I get easily discouraged if I'm not doing it as fast as I want. But really, slow and steady wins this race!! And, anything you lose before Christmas is less to work on in the new year - go you!!

Bummed to see no movement on the scale today but I'm more determined that ever to work hard and do this right, I just hope my scale gets to realizing that before Christmas!!

I had a huge exercise high yesterday, and promptly ate a large evening meal! But am still at 199lbs this morning - phew.

Looking forward to having many of you join Lilith and me in Onederland.....

My foray into onederland was short lived. I'm 201 today, which is my regular weigh day. If I hadn't weighed in this weekend I'd never have known I was there. Trying not to let this get me down because I often see a peek of a new number then a little fluctuation til the scale settles there. And thanksgiving tomorrow. Hmmm - maybe I'll get back there next week.

Don't let it get you down. You will be there soon for good. I plan on starting a detox on Friday for 7 days to get all the sugar out of my system. We are invited over to dh's boss's for a catered party tonight and then thanksgiving tomorrow so I think I will need the detox. I did exercise today for 60 min on the treadmill hoping to off set some calories.

212.6 today, so it's still possible for me to make it by new year's. It's gonna be a stretch, but I'm gonna keep on trying. I've decided for Thanksgiving and Christmas that I will not count calories but I still won't eat any foods that are not on plan for me (low carb). I hope that keeps the losses pretty good through the holiday season.

Checking in... I'm at 207 after two horrendous days of eating, it's a miracle. I work in retail and go to work today, tomorrow, and Saturday for three long nightmare shifts. Fingers crossed it works to my dieting advantage rather than a temptation for convenience foods. We shall see! Good luck everyone!

211.4 today which is actually down from 212.6 yesterday. I probably am not going to make to One der land for Christmas. This month has been a loss of about 3 pounds. Very frustrating! I've been counting calories and exercising more but it is not showing on the scale. So I'll get there when I get there :)

Mid-week check-in, somehow eked out an additional one pound loss... down to 206! Semi-related: thankfully the Waffle House menu in my town has calories listed for everything ><

Weight is up a tad. 212.7 so 3 lbs. I started my sugar detox today after 3 days of bad eating. I did get a lot of exercise yesterday going to the Outlet mall and got new Running shoes and a new sports bra. They had at cold water creek outlet jeans for 9.00 so bought two pairs. Got about 1/2 of my Christmas shopping done and walked over 6.8 miles in the 4 hours we were there.

Weighed in at 207 today and although I'm super happy to have lost despite it being Thanksgiving, and also super happy to be able to move my ticker down after last week's plateau...I can't help thinking that 8 pounds in three weeks is going to be a tall order as I'm not really making 2 pounds a week and really I need closer to 3...fingers crossed for a whoosh!!

My official weekly weigh-in was this morning, and I had a woosh - 202 lbs!! I drank a lot of water yesterday hoping to shed some sodium-induced water weight and I guess it worked.

Normally I weigh in on Mondays but felt very bleurgh yesterday due to bloating and TOM so I put it off until today. I felt much better when I got up and saw 204.4 on the scale!! I think 199 by Christmas will be difficult but I have at least past my half way point and so I will be celebrating that more than worrying about anything I haven't done

198.8 today - I'm happy to see that again, I have been fluctuating between 198 and 202. What a struggle lately with holiday treats around! I set a new goal for myself - 195 by 1/1. I hope I start seeing the 199's consistently soon.

Hey appmom!! How's the weigh in today?!

Had such a bad last few days, the whole family were sick including me. I'm starting to get my appetite back but I've hardly eaten these past few days. The good news is I lost 3.2 pounds this week, making me 201.2 a week before the big weigh day, I just really really hope I don't put it on again when I start eating properly again...!!

I've had a pretty awesome last couple of weeks...no real clue why, but I'll take it :) 202.4 today...I may actually make it by christmas and my goal is just to make it by 12/31, so that would be a huge woohoo!

I weighed in at 201.2. Apparently my last weigh in did stick! I'm so close I can almost feel it.

I've now lost over 30 pounds total in 15 months (my daughter is 16 months old), but 15 pounds of those were when I started getting serious about my weight loss since Oct 16th.

In the last 3 years I've had 2 children, moved 3 times, started 3 new jobs including a switch to working nights.

I'm only 4 pounds from my prepregnancy weight with my oldest! I still have a long way to go. I'm 50 pounds higher than when I felt good about myself and was running regularly. But 50 is less than 80! Just one pound at a time.

Appmom - wow you are well on your way!! That's cool that you are getting a handle on it before too much time goes by. I got huge after my two kids, and now they are 23 and 18 - I do wish I'd started this healthy journey earlier. But I am so thankful for how much better I feel now. 4 pounds from pre pregnancy weight with the oldest after two kids is AMAZING.

I'm 197.6 this morning. I kept seeing the scale flux between 199 and 200+, I'm happy to finally see a lower number because now I know I've really entered onderland LOL. :D

Hello, lotsakids, gratz on closing in on One-derland :) It won't be long now. How have you been doing the last few days?

I'm still barely in this challenge, but I'm still in it! I'm at 201 lbs this morning, so there is still a possibility of making it. As I mentioned above, I'm fudging that any day before New Year's Eve is part of this challenge to keep me motivated to try for that brass ring known as One-derland! I also changed my One-derland by Christmas ticker goal weight from 199 to 199 lbs, lawd, silly, I know, but it makes it look like I'm closer to goal, so I'm rolling with it. My scale only measures to the lbs.

TooWicky, HeidiNicole. I agree! I don't want to push and fail then get discouraged, because it's not really a race to the end. I'll be happy with Onederland by New Years as a complete victory too.

Lilith, your weight loss looks great. I was 200 even this am, but won't consider myself at this mini goal until I'm solidly and regularly under 200 too. You must be so proud of what you've done so far.

JennyButler357, hope your feeling better! It's tough to be sick let alone have other people in the family sick too.

AppMom, I'm right there with you!! We can do this :) I BRIEFLY and I mean basically for a split second saw 200.0 even on the scale a few minutes ago (I have been running around like crazy running errands today and hadn't eaten breakfast.) I am so excited even though it was a momentary dip! I will FREAK OUT times 1000 if I see 190-anything on the scale soon.

Glad you are in this with me TooWicky! I was 200.4 this morning. A real let down but I know I've lost fast recently and I still have several more days to go to meet goal. My mini goal reward for under 200lbs is new workout clothes (I've dropped enough weight that I'm hitching up my pants so they aren't falling off when I 'run'), and I really need them! I'm so excited.

Hello everyone! One of my goals for myself is to be out of the 200's by Christmas 2014. I've got a year to drop 91 pounds. It's certainly doable. :)
