GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!

Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there's 2 of them to read today, I REALLY LOVE THE SECOND ONE!:

EITHER WAY

Reach beyond where you are toward your highest possibility. If you attain it, you win, and even if you fall short of the mark, you still win. For it is the reaching that truly counts. Yes, the results do matter, yet what makes them so valuable is the process you go through to attain them.

When you make the effort and get the results you want, that's great. When you make the effort but the results aren't satisfactory, then you've just prepared yourself to come back even stronger next time.

Either way, when you live and act with purpose and passion, you win. When you put your effort toward a clear, positive and meaningful end, you win. Winners are not those who simply have good fortune handed to them. Winners are those people who make the efforts necessary to reach good fortune.

Reach, reach, reach, with every moment, every thought, every action, and you may get the results you want or you may get the experience you need. Either way, you win

BELEIVE YOU CAN

Believing that you can do it will not, in itself, get it done. Yet believing you cannot do it will most certainly prevent you from ever making it happen.

So the choice of what to believe is clear. Believe that you can, believe that you will, and you're well on your way to making it happen.

What do you truly believe you can do? The difference between impossible and accomplished is largely a matter of belief. A world of things that were once considered impossible are now so common we take them for granted. Each one of those things became reality because someone believed it could happen.Doubt is very easy to maintain, but it won't get very much done. See how many of your doubts you can replace with positive and compelling beliefs.

Every moment of every day, your beliefs guide your actions. Believe that you can, believe that you will, and your reality will follow graciously along.

THIS WEEKS CHALLENGE

WATER - DAILY INTAKE OF AT LEAST 64OZ - we all know how important this is, and if you are exercising you need more - and remember, with the summer heat, even more, so 64oz is the minimum you should have-yeah, yeah, heed my own words!;)

JOURNALING - TRY TO JOURNAL YOUR FOOD INTAKE AT LEAST ONE DAY THIS WEEK - there is not ONE thing about journaling your food that isn't helpful, yes, I know some people don't want to do it, they find it to be a pain, they don't want to do an extra step, it's not in the book, but honestly, it DOES help. Having a problem not losing, journaling may help you find the answer WHY!

NEW WEEKLY CHALLENGE:

TRY THIS FOR ONE DAY!

EVERY TIME YOU THINK YOU WANT TO EAT SOMETHING OFF PLAN- WAIT! SET A TIMER, LOOK AT A WATCH/CLOCK AND WAIT 15 MINUTES!:chin: DRINK A GLASS OF WATER FIRST AND THEN GO FOR A WALK OR DO SOMETHING ELSE. IF AFTER 15 MINUTES YOU STILL WANT IT SO BADLY, LIKE YOU'RE READY TO KILL FOR IT, HAVE IT, JUST A LITTLE. THEN, COME ON THE BOARD THAT DAY AND LET US KNOW HOW THIS HELPED, OR DIDN'T.

GOOD LUCK!

Hey Gang!

Well, I haven't been doing so good with the Power 90 this past week. I've just been feeling like a slug and the exercise gets pushed to the back burner and then there's no time left in the day to do it.

I have buddied up with someone else doing power 90 and we are both re-starting today. I think it will help to have someone at the same stage as I am.

I'm going to try to take DEBs challenges this week. I'm doing not too bad with the SB eating. Not the best, but it could be a lot worse. And I need to be drinking more water. Especially this week--we're supposed to have sun and it's going to be around the low to mid 90's all week.

Sorry I haven't been keeping up with the board. Hope everyone is doing ok. I'll try to check in later.

Happy Monday,

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Today is a new week, lets make it a great OP one!

Deb, I'm up for all the challenges. Funy, I was just thinking on the way to work that I was going to journal today. May even try to figure calories, etc. I need something to keep me focused. In fact, I'm going to go a little further with the new challenge and apply it not only to things off plan, but to things on plan too. Sometimes I eat just to be eating. I'm not really hungry, so I am going to use that strategy with in-between-meal eating. Struggeling right now and am not happy with myself. I am so sorry I couldn't toalk to you yesterday. I really would have enjoyed doing so. We were just walking out the door. Wish you would have called 1/2 hour earlier, was just dozing in the chair on the patio.

Zane, glad you have found an exercise buddy. That will help keep you motivated.

Everyone else, have a great OP day.

Good Morning everyone!!1
I didn't get on all weekend. trav is and I decided that we would take the weekend off from all of our everyday stuff. I didn't get online, run erraneds, work. I did cook, but it was all minimal work. It was a very relaxing weekend. We walked together everyday. Last night we had a serious idscussion about exercise. I;m not doing very well in that area. I don't have much time and certainly don't have any support. He NEVER exercises. The gym near our house is offering 1 year for $99, and I am dying to join. It's open 24 hours, and only 1/2 a mile away!! I know that financially we could have done it if it wasn't for our big trip to Kansas next month and Hannah's wedding. This wedding in adding up like crazy. We are spending $250 on what I wear, $130 on him (g-man). Although Hannah has 8 bridesmaids, my other sister Melissa and I are doing her big shower on our own and it will cost about $250 each in the end. That is before we even start on the gifts I have to get her for her 3 showers and a wedding gift!!!! I am so frustrated. The other bridesmaids are all single 19-22 and live with parents with money to blow, and Melissa's husband is a cradiologist, so they certainly aren't hurting over this. I love my sister, but maybe I should have backed out, or asked if I could do something else rather than be a bridesmaid.
Ok, sorry I'm whining. I just needed to vent :(

Anyway, I'm having a great time getting my house/life organized and in order, thanks to www.flylady.net You should really check it out. I feel in control again.

Debbie's challenges should be pretty easy for me. I always drink between 90 and 120 oz of water a day. I'm allergic to caffeine, so I'm not really allowed to have much else. I actually bought a 2 liter of C-free Diet Coke 2 weeks ago as a treat for myself, and I've totally forgotten about it. Maybe if I am down on WIW I'll break if out. :) I journal in my posts, but I haven't been taking the time to put it into Fitday, so I am going to try to do that at least 3 days this week. I like the temptations challenge. That may be pretty hard with the bagbysitting on Mon & Wed, but I am going to try it today. If I ever cheat, it's when I'm watching the boys. I'll let you know how it goes....

So for my own personal challenge I am going to try to stick to 1 starch a day this week, and I am going to walk at least 4 times. I'm out the door as we speak. I'll log my exercise when we get back!!

Have a great day everybody!!

How much alcohol (red wine and champagne) is legal per day--which artificial sweetner should I be using in my coffee each a.m. (only 1-2 cups per day max) I have the book but would love to hear some confirmation of what really works and what really doesn't--I've been very good on this diet for about 2 wks and have only lost 2 lbs., but am afraid I'm sabotaging the diet because of honest mistakes--just not knowing what's really legal and what's not. I have only about 7 lbs I'd love to get rid of but to no avail. Don't really drink enough water and am afraid the alcohol could be a hinderance. We socialize a lot and I'm pretty sure red wine and champagne are legal--I know champagne has 0 carbs. If anyone has some extra time I'd appreciate some help and input. Thanks--new in Lake Conroe, Tx (about 45 minutes north of Houston--

Hi ladies, hope you all had a good weekend!

We went to a 50's car show on Saturday. It was fun, but I had the worst swollen ankles! I thought we weren't supposed to get that until much later in pregnancy??? I have it tops on my list to ask the nurse practitioner tomorrow, because it really worried me. I spent the rest of the evening lying on the couch with my feet propped up. I am happy to say I can see my ankle bones again, though.

Sunday we went to a Children's Theatre play with DH and my stepson. So overall it was a nice weekend.

Tomorrow's my appointment - I am getting really anxious. I'm about 1 week shy of the point where we found my blighted ovum from the last PG, and I am praying we find a happy, healthy little peanut tomorrow. Please keep me in your thoughts!

My eating has been out of control. Urgh! I've been craving fruit like mad, so that I at least can give in without too much worry. I just need to cut out the junk. I've given DH instructions to tell me NO the next time I want something bad. We'll see if he comes through - although I admit it's a hard position for me to put him in, isn't it? ;)

ttfn,

Ladyporsche - Welcome! I'd say if you only want to lose 7 lbs., that 2 # in 2 weeks is excellent!

I use Splenda to sweeten my drinks. It doesn't have a funny aftertaste to me like Nutrasweet.

Sorry I can't help with the alcohol question, but I don't drink (especially now that I'm pregnant!). I'm sure someone here will have the answers, though - this is a wonderful, extremely helpful group of people!

Again, welcome!

LadyPorche - I use Splenda, too. It tastes just like sugar to me.

I only drink red wine and I did have one of those low carb beers at my sister's b-day party. I felt like a dork though. I'll stick to the red wine. As far as I know, you can have one glass a day, although I only have one or two a month. I'm junt ont a big drinker.

Hope that helps some. 2 lbs is a great start!!!

Good Morning Ladies!

Well since I don't post on weekends, I have some catching up to do. First off, we went on our date Friday night, dinner and movie. We went to Outback where I ate the grilled shrimp (very good) and fried sweet potato chips and side salad it was very filling and good. Next, we ran to the movies due to being very late and we had to sit in the very front row. Need I saw more about the neck? Anyways, Finding Nemo was just so cute. I laughed and laughed. WHich I tend to do loudly. Hey somebody's gotta support the movie. Anyway, It was very cute, although some one asked about the shark part. It is brief but scary for the Little ones. Some little girl was screaming like crazy.

Saturday, we had a birthday party at McDonalds for my newfew. I did good and did not eat at all. I had some water. No cake either! Then it rained all day, so we headed to the gym and worked out. and then I ate lunch at the gym, sweet potatoe chips and turkey and cheese sandwich with no bread. Later that Night we ate outback again to go this time. (Can you tell we really like that place)

Sunday, was not so good day for me. After church we had to take some of the youth to travel an hour so my husband could preach at a youth detention center. So we had to stop for lunch at fastfood. I fell and ate nuggets  What can I say pier pressure and the smell of Mickey D's in van. Anyways, I did pretty good the rest of the day, besides a few sixlets I ate (more pier pressure) So, feeling so ashamed, I ate a salad for dinner. So we shall see. I guess I could have been much worse right? The kids are so sweet, asking why and I also eating right, lol, that I look good already. Whatever, lol. Anyways, back to work on Monday waiting for boss to come running in and distributing work. I guess I should get prepared.

Later Ladies.

Hi everyone,

I just thought I'd introduce myself :)
I'm 33 sahm and wife.

I just started sb today and hope to lose
about 40 pounds by the end of the year...
I don't know if that is too ambitious... but that's my goal!

If no one minds, I'd like to post my menu's for each day. I'd love input on them on whether or not I'm eating the right things, too much of one thing or leaving something out.

I'm also going to join the exercise board. I've just started doing Walk away the pounds tapes a few weeks ago and have really become hooked on them!

I'm pretty good at getting my water in, so I'll take the water challenge :)

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Morning all!

AHHH--back to something of a normal schedule! Two weeks before I head to NC!

I see we would ALL wish away our stomachs if we could--well, isn't that what we are here for????

JenninMN--I'll be thinking about you tomorrow! I hope everything goes well--it sure sounds like you have a lot of hormones kicking around in there!

Ladyproche--I agree with Jenn--if you are trying to lose 7 lbs, then two is an excellent start! I wouldn't have more than one glass of red wine a day, skip it if you can. Splenda, Equal, Sweet-n-low, are all accceptable sweetners. Some of us find we like some better than others. Many of us use a sweetner called AGAVE (it's a liquid a lot like honey), but you can probably do with one of the ones I listed above. Don't know about the chanpagne, the bood really recommends dry red wines, but I suppose a dry champagne would be OK (it is wedding season!).

Talitha--HA! I remember so well when all my friends were getting married how much their weddings would cost me as a bridesmaid. Sheesh, I think forking over the money for the dress should count as the wedding present! I always wanted to be supportive, but by the time we finished with the list of the dress shoes, jewlrey, hose, even the color of nail polish--I was ready to strangle them!!!! Thank goodness I'm too old for that nonsense now! Good luck, I know you will have fun and your sister will appreciate your efforts.

Jackie--I know where you are coming from. I like Deb's 15 minute challenge! I'm planning on using that one as much as possible this week! You'll get back in the swing.

Zanne--me too on the 15 minute challenge. I've been a slug too--so let;s both get our butts in gear and get moving!

Deb--Good new challenge this week! Sorry to hear about your cold--really, I can't get mine to go away completely--nose is still running. I hope yours gets better much more quickly! I hope your DM is doing better too! Let us hear from you when you get a chance!!!

BOB--Glad to hear you are high and dry! I guess when it finally rained the heavens really opened up! We are having gorgeous weather this week--finally!

ARC--Glad to hear that you are back OP! Do the best you can if you stay OP and try not to worry about how fast the scale moves (I know, much easier said than done) then good things will happen, I promise!

Time to get to work! Have a great day everyone--let's make it the first day of a great OP week!

Talitha: just a little note about weddings too. I am standing in my friend's wedding. Who calls me out of the blue, we haven't talked in over a year to ask me to stand. I did not even know she was seeing anyone  Well, I guess it was the moment and I said yes, but after thinking of all the expense and talking it over with DH, I declined. I am preparing to get pregnant as everyone knows and still designing my nursery and figured that would be money better spent. Well I thought I was in the clear. Until she called me a couple of weeks ago to tell me somebody dropped and she really wants me there, So I got a free dress. Although everything else will cost an arm and leg. At least, the dress is free! Feel kinda bad, but hey I was honest. So now instead of dropping $400 and I am dropping $200 (go figure) Next, thing is the party she wants for the girls is out of town. So I don't know if I am going. She knows I don't drink or gamble so really not much for me to do. Besides 6 out of 7 girls have breast implants and 3 out of 6 work in the entertainment business (if you know what I mean). Geez this will be a great match up, I am sure they will be able to spot the pastor's wife with no prob. My husband is performing the service.

Hi all! Long, busy weekend for us. Hubby finally got back from his 8 day fishing trip and I'm so glad to have him back! He grew a beard and the kids were a little leery of him. It took them a bit of time to get back into the groove with "daddy" but it happened.

Okay, I really fell off the wagon yesterday. It was a planned fall, though, and really it was only my second serious deviation from plan in about 8 or 9 weeks so I'm not beating myself up over it. We went to a baseball game yesterday and we were invited to a suite where they have all the free booze and food you can stuff in your face! I had lasagna and garlic bread and beer and... then the dessert cart came. Oh, my! I finally chose the peanut butter cheesecake (foregoing the oreo cheesecake and the snickers pie.) I have to say that I felt bloated and ill after all that, but I'm back on plan and I didn't do TOO much damage, so far.

I am taking Deb's challenge to heart and I just chugged 24 ounces of water. Ugh... feeling a tad ill... I'll let it settle a bit then go in for more. I had to drink a ton of water when I was pregnant and I had cut out all caffeine, and I still don't drink anything caffeinated anymore.

bloviator - welcome!

Jenn - I will be thinking about you. We struggled to get pregnant and I remember that early ultrasound at 7 weeks when we saw these two microscopically small little tadpoles with beating hearts. I know how stressful it is to wait to see that, I hope the best for you!

Talitha - I sure could use some organizing skills. I want someone to nominate me for an Oprah organizing show or something! Like a makeover for the organizationally challenged!

Want - I'm lazy, but I'll respond to your pm soon!

Okay, off to drink more water! I'm on plan and looking forward to my big salad at lunch! I can do this. I did it for 8 weeks with only minimal cheating. I'm motivated and looking forward to how well I'll look come Thanksgiving! Happy Monday!

Mom got to come home yesterday! Yeah! She amazed the staff that she got to come home so early but that's mom. She can rest better at home. We are going over tomorrow to spend the day and celebrate my daughter's 16th b-day. I have been a terrrible example of SB but I am back on track this morning. Sounds familiar doesn't it..but I am truly geared up to getting lined out. The scales were kind to me this morning and I'm going to take advantage. When they were up so high the other day I kept asking myself...why do you want to sabatoge yourself? It's like duh...why do I do this. Of course I know this past two weeks its been the stress.

This morning I went to put chips in my mouth and decided to wait a bit. So I am really hyped about this weeks challenge. I LOVE the idea of waiting 15. I'm sure it will stop a lot of those spot nubbles and munchies.

Welcome ladyporsche! You are not that far from me at all. I love in Evergreen..not too far from Coldspring. My mom is actually in Willis. I use to live there 3 years ago before we moved here. Losing 2 pounds when you only have a bout 7 to lose is awesome! The less you have to lose the slower they usually come off.

Welcome bloviater! I'm 38 and a SAHM also. I have five kiddos but only four are still at home. We home school so life is pretty full. You will love this way of eating.

amhlawyer ..planned cheats are the best. It's like you have a goal and are more in control than when you just do like me and do a belly flop into the chips.

Wanttheoldme....all this talk about weddings...ugh...LOL My daugher is going to be in a wedding next year for a friend. If the cost is that much it aint gonna happen. She's been in two so far this year that have cost nothing..closer to my budget. :)

Susan...I agree. I'm all for wishing the stomach away. I'm trying but it just aint happenin' . Are you vacationing in NC? When I was a little girl I lived in Charlotte. I love both of the Carolinas.

Talitha....sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. I think resting is an important ingredient in weight loss. As well as just making us feel better.

Jenn....saying a little prayer for ya. Not only for your health but for peace during this pregnancy. It's amazing all the changes hormones cause in the body. I remember when I went in for my ultra sound after my loss...I was on pins and needles till I saw Zachary moving. He was and is fine...rotten 6 year old now. Moma's spoiled boy. ((hugzz))

Jack-K....we CAN do this. Goal is soooooo close. I took your hand last week..you grab mine this week. We will get there! :D

I'd better get off my hiney and get moving. It's almost 90 already and I have a ton to mow. I don't think I will get much done this morning..ugh.

Love,
Crystle

I ate and ate and ate over the weekend- I'm not exaggerating one bit. I totally blew it and I'm back up several pounds. I'm so angry at myself. No self control. Today I have zero energy and feel just "blah" - guess that's what I get. I'm getting back on track- but I did so much damage. I just feel crappy about everything now. Hopefully, I can get some of the "damage" off by WIW. I have to realize that allowing myself just one treat does not work with me. All that does is give myself the green light to eat anything and everything in sight. So the challenges are the same, right? Eat right, exercise, and drink lots of water? The one good thing I've been doing lately is exercising. Not that it helps much when you pig out. As for the water, I always drink lots of water. So my personal challenge will be staying OP...

Well back from lunch not too long ago. I hit the Albertson's salad bar again. Everyone would be so proud to know that I have added yet another veggie :p to my salad. Today I added flat leaf spinach and the before broccoli. Its a big deal to me since I never eat green veggies, I kinda dislike them, but not too bad when hidden in salad  Hope all is doing good today, kinda empty here. I plan to shampoo the carpets after work, you think I can count that as exercise? Whew! I plan to have chicken, green beans and sweet potato for dinner. You know I have been scared to have any sugar free dessert like the blue bunny ice cream, but why I wonder, I am not losing anyways  Perhaps I may endulge today. :hyper: I also ate 1 egg for breakfast today, trying to cut down, but I was very hungry by lunch time. So tommorrow morning back to 2 eggs!

Good Day Ladies :grouphug:

Wow, it's been a busy day. Lots of posts.

Getting ready to head home. Going to walk 3 miles and then have dinner (burritos). Then off to the ball park. Taking a huge glass of water. Will also refill it at least 1 or 2 times. That should get my water in for today.

Talitha, Glad you enjoyed your relaxing weekend. It's nice to do that every once in awhile. Weddings can be very eaxpensive. Believe me, I'm still paying for my DD's. Glad you have challenged yourself as well as Deb's. It is such a great feeling to accomplish something you have set for yourself. Good luck. I loved the flylady too, but I got so many emails from her I had to cancel.

Jenn, saying a little prayer for your Dr visit tomorrow. I'm sure everything will be just fine. Keep drinking that water and that will help with those swollen ankles. Craving fruit is a good thing. I'm gonna make my DH polic me too. They have to be good for something.

Tonya, I think you did great with your eating. Nuggets are not the worst thing you could have eaten. Congrats. I got such a laugh out of your wedding story. Yes I believe you will be easily spotted. Good fo ryou adding new veggies. Next time try shredded zuchanni. No taste really, but crunchy.

Bloviater, welcome to this board. It is great for info and support. 40 lbs sounds like a realistic goal to me. Just stick with it and don't cheat and it will come off fine. Good luck

Susan, I don't wish my stomach away, I need a serious tummy tuck or fold or something large like that. Maybe your lingering cold is allergies. Tis the season.

BOb, Glad you are dry. I saw that river on the news this morning but didn't realize it was in Sarasota. Get rid of all that rain before I get there please.

Ladyporche, Welcome to our board. I see someone has answered your questions. If you only have 7 lbs to lose it will take some time, so you are off to a good start with 2 lbs. Red wine is legal, champagne, I'm not sure about. Good luck.

Adrienne, Don't beat yourself up, you are already back OP. The only thing is don't plan those cheats too often. Take it from me, they become more frequent the more you do them and harder to get back OP.

Country, so glad you mom got to come home. It will be easier for everyone. Boy could I relate with "back on track this morning" I sure wish I knew why we do this to ourselves. I am so tired of saying that every Monday. I hope I am to the point when I started SB as how tired I was of starting yet another diet and not sticking to it. Somebody let go of our hands last week. So this week lets make a pack to hold on tight especially through the weekend.

Heartmom, you are not alone. With me, one cheat and it is a greenlight for the whole weekend. I gained a whole 7 lbs this since Sat morning. That is my challenge too. Get through a weekend OP.

Have a great OP evening everyone.

Wow, so many posts today, I thought I might have missed a day and it was already Tuesday. Well, it is still Monday, and I hope to meet the challenges of the week. This week is going to be crazy for me, preparing for this trip.

My Aunt is in town from Texas, and I took her to lunch today; she kept commenting on how "tiny" I am and how great I look. It feels so good for someone (who doesn't see you everyday) to notice the hard effort/work. It really helps to stay on plan too. You don't want to blow it when you are getting those types of compliments. We went to Red Robin, and I got the cobb salad. It was romaine & iceberg, but I asked for all romaine. I got ranch dressing to go with it, and nearly finished the whole thing. It was huge too. Oh well, better than something not good for you. I did try one of my niece's HUGE steak fries, and it was pretty good, but I only had 1.

I have to get to Trader Joes tomorrow to pick up some pita bread and some "legal" snacks for our trip. I hope to stay as much on plan as possible.

Yellow: Thanks for the recipe for the granola; sounds great.

Talitha: That's really too bad that you can't join that 24-hour gym. it would be perfect; you could work out when your hubby is home. $99.00 for a full year is like a quarter a day. But, go ahead and whine all you want; that's what we're here for. Good luck with the 1 starch a day, I think it will really show results, especially if you are walking 4 times per week.

Lady: I think everyone pretty much answered your questions, and I don't drink enough to be an authority on it, but wanted to let you know that if you are only trying to lose 7 pounds and you have lost 2 in 2 weeks that you are doing something right. I wouldn't expect you to lose anymore than that. The less you have to lose, the slower it comes off.

Jenn in MN: I will be thinking of you and will say a special prayer for you tonight. What time is your appt? I hope you post when you get home so we can read the good news.

Want: Good job on eating; it could've been a lot worse.

bloviater: Welcome. Good luck meeting your goal. We would be happy to look over your daily menu, if you want to post it.

amhlawyer: If that was only your 2nd real splurge in 2 months, than you are doing awesome. You obviously know how to get back on track and put it behind you! Keep up the great work!

Country: Glad your mom is home; hope she continues to do well.

Well, better get some stuff done around here; still don't know what's for dinner.

Take care, and I will check in tomorrow.

Dinner is cooking and I only have a minute to say hi. Work this morning was fun....the bossy lead decorator was off today. I sure hope she does not read this, since it happens to be my married daughter! I got to do what *I* thought needed doing! I like that...she always gives me the stuff no one else wants to do. I know she gets a kick out of bossing her mother around.... :)

The weekend was lovely. I so enjoy the time off now that I am working. I am going to change my hours though, to three days of 8 hours, instead of four days of five hours. I want two days off a week. I just don't get anything done when I get home and I have not gotten better in the three weeks I have worked....

Eating is ok. Not stellar, but ok. Tonight, I am poaching fish, and making green beans and lentils. Its late....but Tom had some out door chores and I was working on vacation stuff.

You Florida gals....anyone near Cocoa Beach? We are hoping to stay there, and Marco Island, and Sarasota. Still working on the details....if you are near these places, and might be up for a dinner meeting or something, please let me know.

Gotta go! TTFN!

Hello Ladies!

I just wanted to thank all of you for the warm “welcome-backs” – y’all always make me feel so special! As you can see – I popped in one day and then disappeared again! I’m so pitiful! I’ve been eating a lot and once again – felt guilty – so I didn’t come to the board. I did really good today, so maybe – just maybe – this is a good start.

I’m working for my old boss this week. Before I was a teacher I was a secretary at a court reporting firm. Their secretary is on vacation this week so they asked me to fill in. It’s been nice seeing all of my old friends. I worked there for 6 years –but I don’t miss it!

I’m going to try to catch up on some posts now..if anyone asked me anything specific last week – please ask again….I only went back once to read posts. Here’s my catching up for today!!

ZANNE: What’s the Power 90?

JACK-K: I’m with you on the struggling thing…I just can’t get my butt in gear! What can we do?

TALITHA: I’m the same way with exercising. I have time now that it’s summer – but I don’t want to do it! That deal at the gym sounds great - $99 for a year? Are you sure that is right?

JENN in MN: How far along are you? I’ve had a blighted ovum in the past – so depressing. I’m sure everything will be ok this time…keep us posted. I’m here for you if you need anything – I now feel as though I’m an expert on problem pregnancies – so if you have any questions – ask away! Good luck tomorrow – I’ll be thinking about you!

BLOVIATER: Welcome to the board – you will love it here – everyone is so nice and helpful! Well, I’m not that helpful cause I have a hard time staying on plan and on the board! Haha! I’m just an occasional visitor that happens to do the diet every now and then! But – everyone else can help you!! Good luck!

FILLISE: What are you going to NC for? Vacation? Business? Do tell! I’m sure you told already – but I didn’t see it! I would love to go there for vacation – I hear it’s beautiful!

WANTTHEOLDME: I see that you are planning on getting pregnant. Have you had any before or tried to get pregnant? Do you see a doctor in Covington or in New Orleans? My new specialist is at Ochsner in New Orleans. I love her. Hopefully she will get to the bottom of all of my problems…6 miscarriages is enough! I’m hoping the next one works out – I can’t take much more! I can just see you out with all of those breast implants!! HAHAH!!!!! I feel like that with my friends – they are all so cute and then there’s me! Oh well!

AMHLAWYER: Sounds like a great day to me! How nice to be in a suite at a game! I often fantasize about what it would be like to be in a suite at one of the LSU football games – you know – air-conditioning, bathrooms, booze and food! How awesome! I’m glad you enjoyed your day!

HEARTMOM: I know how ya feel! I’m the poster child for bad eating these days. I can’t just have one little cheat – once I blow it – I BLOW IT! It’s all over after that one nibble off plan. I hate that about myself! I’m going to try to get my butt in gear right along with you!!!

DEB: Sorry to hear that you are under the weather! I hope you are up and outta the house in no time!! Take care of yourself girl! Thanks for the wonderful motivating articles – hopefully some will sink in this thick skull of mine!!

Well, I’ll see you ladies later! Hopefully, I will be back on tomorrow with good news that I did ok with my eating!!

Hey Y'all

I've got some exciting news! I just got a call from my friend that is the Captain of our Mardi Gras float. She told me that they got the assignments for our floats for this Mardi Gras. Are y'all ready for our float theme?!?!?!?!?! Drum Roll please.......it's LSU!!!!! Can you believe that?!?! I am so pumped up! I can't wait now. It will be so beautiful - I will get to see a drawing of our float this weekend. It isn't made yet. Each year - they make the floats in New Orleans....they are absolutely beautiful! I'll get my friend to e-mail a pic to me and I'll post it for you!

Nighty night!

Hey, I think I need to finish explaining the gym to you all. I got distracted about hte expense of it (and the wedding), and didn't tell you the actual deciding factor. I don't know if I ever mentioned my weight problems as a teenager. My first boyfriend when I was 13 broke up with me in front of a whole group of friends and said that if I lost 40 lbs he would go back out with me. I was 160, but you have to take into account that I was a 34DD at 13. I literally stopped eating except for orange juice and celery. I would go 4 days without a meal. I got down to 125, and he told me he would go back out with me 'since I looked so good'. I turned him down and he pushed me around a bit. I actually fell and broke my tailbone, and had some random bruises. I have been obsessed, suicidal, annorexic and bulimic in spurts ever since. All over my weight. I found that the only way I could be was a size 6(unhealthy mentally) or a size 16(ignoring my situation). It sounds so stupid looking back, but California was really rough on me. Every guy I've ever been attracted to treated me like that, except for my husband. It was aesy to lose the weight if I was doing it under preasure. Travis is wonderful. One time I actually broke down and begged him to call me fat and treat me like crap so that I would lose weight. Of course he didn't care how I looked and I didn't know how to handle that. For the first time I am doing this for ME. God has changed my life so much since California, that I do not even feel like the same person. I refuse to think of this as a diet. It's a new, healthy lifestyle. We prayed about whether the gym was something we should make a priority. You know what it came down to? That is the step that would put me over the edge and differentiate between diet and lifstyle choices. I cannot walk into that place without getting into an obsessive competitive mindset. I know that I would drop weight like crazy, but it would be because I was cutting out too much food, and working myself to death. The second I let myself fall into diet mindset, I know I will be unstable mentally and unhealthy spiritually. I love who I am right now, even though it's going slow. I want to get healthy NOT thin. Thin would certainly be a perk if it works out.

I hope that was not too heavy, or 'illegal spiritual content'.

On a lighter note. Here are a few replies.

Tonya- your reply about the wedding you are in absolutely CRACKED ME UP!!! I even made Travis come in here and read it, becasue it is almost the same situation. All of the b-maids (except the sisters) are sizes 0 to 2 and have 'enhancements'. We call them the bimbo bridesmaids, and we are the Big bridesmaids. This friday is the bachelorette party, and the Bimbos are running the show. they rented a stretch expedition that holds 20 people to drive us aroiund buckhead to go bar hopping. Lickily Melissa (my other sister on SB w/ 4 kids) and I can stick together since neither of us are big drinkers or have EVER been bar hopping. We have to go and we are both dreading it. They certainly look at us as conservative Christians, but I think they respect us for going along, but chosing to stand our ground on the drinking issue. I feel old and boring, and I'm only 25!!! But then, I wouldn't change places with them for all of the world!!

Bloviater - welcome!!!! You're gonna love this. I can't wait to get to know you!

Jenn in MN - We'll be praying for you tomorrow!! Your baby is going to be beautiful!!

Fillise - I was hoping I was too old for it, too, since I'm married with a kid. I actually think my sister just asked me becasue I asked her for mine. We haven't been getting along very well lately, which makes this even more difficult. I love her, though, and turnung her down would have desastated teh whole family and given her more amunition to say "See, it's her fault we don't get along" Oh well...

Deb 0- I hope you start feeling better soon. Selah has her first cold this week and has been absolutely miserable, but she did get her FIRST TOOTH!!! That could account for some of the agony.

Jack-k - The Flylady emails can get out of control, but they have an option to get all of the emails lumped into one big one a day. I do that and then print it every night and put it on the Fridge.

Monet - Did you try that 365 milk yet? It's awesome!!! I'm hooked. Those Ok-Mok crackers you suggested were awesome, too. Travis even loved them. I couldn't find them at my Harry's though. I ran through the other day and checked. I will look harder next time to be sure. So what 2 days are you going to have off each week? I would love to get together sometime. Would you like to go climb Stone Mountain with me sometime? It's a pretty big challenge, but might be fun.

Pancho/Fruitloupe - yes it's only $99. It's a really good deal, but if you read the top of my post it might make more sense why I'm not going for it.

Sweet dreams everyone.....

Hi everyone!

Sorry I have been away for such a long time, but my life has changed considerably since I last posted here. I was married in April and my wife and I are expecting a baby boy in mid September. I have long since fallen off the wagon, but I am ready to start the SB life again. I haven't weighed myself in at least 6 months. I know that I have gained most of my weight back again. :(

My wife and I both need to start SB. She plans to start after she has the baby in a couple months, but we are looking to setup a gameplan now so to speak. She is new to SB and, thankfully, has a passion for cooking! Those of you who may remember me know that I was not the best cook in the world!

Anyway, hopefully we will start posting more often (probably my wife moreso than me since I work overnights) and I look forward to being a part of this board again. I hope everyone is doing well, and I look forward to chatting again soon.

Good Tuesday Morning,

Hope everyone had a great OP night.

I did get my 3 mile walk in last night. It was hot, but I figured I might be sweating off some wt. No chance. The scale did not move this morning. :( I was very disappointed, especially since I got up 5 times during the night to potty.

Eating was good yesterday. Nothing after dinner except for water.

Pancho, It is so nice getting those compliments. Makes you feel so good and proud of yourself too.

Monet, I got a kick out of reading about your bossy boss. Seems like your DD has learned decorating from her mom.

Deb, you poor thing. Take careof yourself and get some rest. Drink lots of oj. Hope DM gets out soon.

Fruit, Now keep your butt on here, good or bad eating. It will only get worse if you don't have us. I guess we need to get back to our old resolve. What do we really want? I really need to put more thought into what I put into my mouth. Good luck. I'm coming down to NO in Oct. Maybe we can get together for lunch. How neat about the float. I know you are excited.

Talitha, I'm so sorry for all your sorrows and problems in your early life. No one should be treated like that. I'm glad you turned that guy down after you lost the wt. But it is clear that you have evolved into a better beautiful person. You Dh sounds very supportive and wonderful. You have a great mindset. I'm sure you will be successful with this WOL.

Daramus, Welcome back. Congrats on your wedding and new baby. How exciting. I'm sure with your wife doing SB too you will do great. Hope you can keep posting.

Have a great OP day everyone.

Jackie

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone!

FINALLY, gosh, I can't believe it, I can actually post! MICHAEL slept over at his friend ALEX'S last night, LAUREN is still asleep and ELI is in the shower getting ready to go to work and I couldn't sleep in so got my butt out of bed and came on the computer:D

Still sick, not that I thought I'd wake up and it would be magically gone, and really shouldn't complain about it considering my DM is still in the hospital with pnemonia, which she keeps telling me that she started out the way I am-NOT! She was a lot worse from the beginning, I'm not that sick. I rarely get sick but it seems that the last 2 times I've gotten a cold the symptoms I get are random and come at different times. I guess it's good that I don't get hit all at once with all the things, THEN I really would be in trouble. I think the worst of it is being tired.

I didn't go to yoga yesterday, not only because of being sick, actually, that wasn't the first reason for not going, as when I got up yesterday I wasn't sneezing and my nose wasn't instantly running, but being tired and my arms being so sore is what made me not go. My arms aren't sore from being achey from being sick, no, they're sore because, even though I was sick, I tried to cut the grass on Saturday. I mean TRIED because it was a fiasco!

I usually have someone come cut the grass but down here, esp. in the summer when we tend to have a lot of rain grass grows very fast and the guys come every 2 weeks. Well, I don't have the $ to pay, so I tell them to come and ask after 4 weeks. After 4 weeks, I hadn't seen, so when 6 weeks rolled around I saw them and asked them to cut the grass, they didn't have time and said they'd be back almost a week later - they never showed. Well, it's been over 2 months since the grass was cut and the kids, esp. LAUREN was complaining that our yard looked like a "WHITE TRASH" yard. It looked pretty bad I have to admit. We have 2 lawn mowers, neither work. Went to my neighbors and asked him to borrow his weed eater to try and get some of the height off the grass but his WE is old and it kept conking out on me and I gave up. I was offered the use of their lawnmower so I tried to cut the front lawn - what a job! I could only do the main part in the front, the grass was so high it was ridiculous and the LM cut off from the grass or running out of gas and I had to ask my neighbor 3 times to start it and then MICHAEL 4 times to start it, I tried and honestly, I don't know why they can't make it easier to start a lawnmower! At one point I had to get something from my neighbors house and I literally blacked out, I couldn't see much but black blotches and I knew that I had had enough! Whatever I did, that was all that was going to get done. Next day - oye, my arms, following day, I thought my arms were going to fall off. Even today, they are still sore-I mean, they REALLY hurt!!!!! The backyard still looked like a jungle and I honestly don't give a crap. I have to get someone out with a riding lawnmower to do the back and then just make sure someone gets out here before it gets like this again.
I've learned my lesson.

As I mentioned DM is STILL in the hospital. I don't think any of us thought it would be this long that she'd be there, but she's still hacking away. I think she's hoping to get sprung today, but I don't know. We had a REALLY bizarre incident yesterday between my DM and I. My parent's are from Rochester, NY and the other day I saw a piece on the news about a huge fire up there, asked my DM is she saw it, she said no, so I went online to the newspaper website from Roch. to read it to her, the current days page came up and it was really weird because there was a story about a fire, not the same one, but what caught my eye was the street that my DM grew up on was listed in the piece and it seemed to jump out at me, it was a bit weird, I NEVER go on this website, and to see that, first page...so I went to the article about this fire, read it to her and then was just looking around the site, clicked on the obits, randomly read some names and jokingly said to my DM, good, doesn't seem anyone we know has died! So she says, "if you want to see if anyone you know has died, you have to go to Parskyfuneralhome.com." I asked her "What? I didn't know they had a website!" Not something I would of thought I'd of known, it's a funeral home that my Uncles father started long ago, long since sold, so I went on there to see it-I go to the obits and started to read off names and I get to one and my DM says OMG and starts to cry. Her cousins husband died on Sunday! My DM was going to call her last week to see how her cousins DH was but she ended up in the hospital on Wed. night and can't call from the hospital, so she never got to call. Her cousins DH had cancer. My DM's other cousin had called her that morning (yesterday) and didn't say a word about it so my Mom figured she just hadn't heard yet. My Mom's cousin was telling her that she was trying to get ahold of their aunt and couldn't reach her (now we know why). Last night I called my Mom's cousin in Roch. figuring she knew, she didn't know either! Seems no one has been told, it's not in the papers, the cousins live in NC though they are from Rochester and the funeral will be there tomorrow. Through the bizarre events that took me to this site, we realized if I hadn't gone to it, we wouldn't of know as we do about his passing. The funeral home writes the obit and sends it to the newspaper, it was a Sunday, the newspaper doesn't get it til Monday and probably it will be in todays paper. Okay, I know boring story, but to us we thought it was a bit bizarre!

I have to tell you guys about this weird fruit. Very rare and hard to find but quite interesting. It's called MIRACLE FRUIT. ELI'S nephew who we ship plants to told me about it and we were able to find one the other day and the lady gave us some of the fruit to try. The fruits look like elongated cranberries, a lighter color as well, 85% pit I'd say which doesn't leave for much of anything to actually "eat" more like sucking what little there is off the pit. But what's really interesting about it is, up to 30 minutes after eating it, anything that you eat that tastes sour will taste sweet. We thought, okay, how many lemons and limes can one eat? BUT, the kids and I tested it, and I ate a whole lemon without wincing! THEN last night we had some blackberries that were sour, ate a miracle fruit and they tasted like sugar!

Okay, so that's about what's been happening with me lately, nothing exciting and quite boring I'd say - so now, I'm going to try and get in some replies while I have the chance. I can't go back to next week, just hoping to catch up from yesterday's posts...

ZANNE, that's good that you are buddying up with someone, it's good for the days that you just don't feel like it to have that added "push" of someone depending on you to do it with them. I sometimes wish that I had that when it comes to walking. Mid 90's up there? It's not even that down here! I'm hoping, if we do go to Montreal in August it won't be so bad - they don't have a/c up there!

JACKK, I do the same many times, just eat to be eating. With being sick I haven't had any appetite to talk about but I've pushed myself to eat only because I know I have to have something, otherwise I'd probably not each much of anything. My DM keeps telling me to "take something" for this cold but I haven't and the reason for not doing so, I like not having the appetitie right now and I want to take full advantage of it! Bad side is that I'm so tired that I have no energy to even walk for exercise-wonder which is worse:chin: Sorry I wasn't able to talk to you either the other day - will try you again. When I'm in the car I tend to call people, I'm sure I'll catch you one day;) Good job on the walking today-wish I could say the same!

TALITHA, if you were to join the gym could you find the time to go? If so, I'd say to see if they would work with you on a payment plan. That's so cheap and if they will, that would probably be easier for you to handle. Wish I could find a deal like that down here! You should not THINK that you will have a problme with overdoing it as you think, you've come a long way since then, things have changed and you should at least try and see if you can do something on an even keel. I know what you've been through, I've been through a lot too, but we aren't the people we were way back then and we have to know that we have learned something through the years. You CAN do it, if you believe you can! If you take the attitude that it's in your mind that you can't, you never will. I've never heard anyone being allergic to caffeine! What does it do to you if you have some? I actually prefer to journal on paper, in a stenographers notebook, with the line down the middle. I put what and how much I eat on the left and then the nutritional info on the right. You may want to try doing it that way. I keep it in the kitchen and it's handy to jot it all down right then and there.

LADY http://members.aol.com/eldemila/sb_sign1.jpg I'm sure by now the gals on the board have answered your question about the wine, red is legal-though I've never had anyone ask about chapagne, though I do doubt there are zero carbs in it, 0 fat is more like it. If you've already lost 2lbs in 2 weeks, you shouldn't say ONLY, you should be VERY happy. If you have only 7lbs to lose, 2lbs is 1/3 or if you have 7 more to lose you've lost over 20% of your weight already. What you have to understand is that when you get to only having to lose a few, it takes a while. If you have it in your mind that you can lose 10lbs in 30 days like they say on TV, forget THAT, we know that's a bunch of bull. Just be patient and you'll lose the weight and in the interm, be healthier in doing so by eating better. It took me from Feb to June to lose my last 10lbs, so again, be patient:)

JENN, looking forward to hearing about your Dr. appt today and hoping all the news you get is good! I think with the eating, knowing that you are pregnant and wanting to eat the best not only for yourself but for your baby should be what you are thinking about. Just think, if you stick with SB throughout your pregnancy after the baby is born, you'll weigh less than when you got pregnant!

OLDME, they have sweet potato chips at your OUTBACK? WOW! Our only has regular sweet potatoes. My DS went to see NEMO too and liked it. Good job at staying legal at McD's, not that I think there's anything there other than the ice cream good to eat;) Oops, then again, the next day you went there.... You may want to be careful with those sweet potatoe chips. I got a rude awakening when I figured out what I was eating of the bagged ones and won't buy them anymore. If you actually weighed out a serving it was a miniscule amount and didn't do anything for me and boy, was it not only fattening, but the carbs are a lot. I hate bursting bubbles, but better that you should be aware. As for veggies in the salad, good job! Here's a little hint, try cutting up veggies really small and using them like that, you're less likely to notice them, much less taste the impact. Imagine a tiny piece of broccoli vs a large floret.

BLOVIATER http://members.aol.com/eldemila/sb_sign2.jpg Glad you've decided to join us. Feel free to ask any and all questions, we'll be happy to help. Let us know a little about yourself when you get a chance:)

FILLISE, it was hard for me to pick from my own polling question, now that I think of it, I should of made where you could pick more than one! I chose stomach, but I really would a whole body overhaul! Hope we both get over our colds, and soon! Though, I have to admit, I like not having the appetite-wonder if I can keep that part of being sick;)

LAW, glad to see you are back on track. If you can do that after a planned cheat, you are very lucky and you will be able to enjoy yourself and allow yourself planned cheats, and even those unexpected times you find yourself in a situation that you want to cheat. Unfortunately, for people like me, I haven't been able to master that technique as of yet:(

COUNTRY, HB to DD!:hb: How are you planning to celebrate her SWEET SIXTEEN? Ummm, when you get the answer to your question why do you want to sabatoge yourself? would you let the rest of us in on it??? Glad to see the 15 minutes helped you!!!

HEART, I think we all know how hard it is to fall and get back up, harder for some than others, but you'll do it. I think you need to see what's triggering you like this. Try this weeks challenge of waiting 15 minutes, see if that helps any.

PANCHO, that's so great that people are noticing your weight loss!!! That SHOULD make you feel great! What kind of rest. is RED ROBIN? You went to TJ'S?????? You are so lucky!!!!

MONET, if you are going to MARCO, you should plan to come over to MIAMI-we are about 1 1/2 hours away from there, really a straight shot almost to my house on US 41. When are you coming down? What are you going to be doing in Marco-I guess relaxing because there's nothing else to do there! Going to see BOB in Sarasota?

FRUIT, so good to see you back girlfriend, we always miss you during your little hiatuses! You come, you go, you come, you go, but you always come back and that's what makes US feel special;)

DARAMUS, WHOA! Look what the cat dragged in! Boy, I really gave up on seeing you again, but happy to see you back AND with a wife and a baby on the way! Boy, let a guy go away for a few months and look what happens! I'm sure you and your wife will do great together on SB! We'll be happy to welcome her with open arms when she comes on the board to join us. Of course, we'll give her the best recipes to cook for you as well;) CONGRATS 2X OVER!!!!!:D

Have to make a quick exit, still have to make LAUREN'S lunch and wake her up to go. Will try to check in later on.

TONIGHT IS CHAT AT 9:15PM EST-I'm going to try and make it - anyone else planning on being in the chat room?

GOOD LUCK TOMORROW FOR WIW!!!!!!

Good Morning all!

Hope everyone is doing well! So okay here goes, dinner went as planned chicken, green beans and sweet potato. Although later that night I did decide to have a blue bunny ice cream bar (sugar free) which is not that bad might I add. Well it was my first time having one, so I figured, what the heck. I will not make this a habit though. So this morning, I am back to 2 eggs since yesterday before lunch I was starving. But I feel great. I worked out last night around 9:00 while watching the Food Network. Love that channel. So it was after my ice cream episode. Today, I will hit that salad bar again, unless someone asks me to eat with them for lunch (which I doubt) Only me and bossman here! I normally eat with some of the ladies in the building but that is a planned lunch.

Fruitloupe: I go to this wonderful doctor here on the Northshore. Dr. Sherman. Just wonderful! He is kinda old, and very old fashioned. He sits you in his office for every visit just to talk. and when I was having my D&C he held my hand and I even saw tears in his eyes. He is very supportive and he said I reminded him of his daugher. She had 4 miscarriages in a row. He told me that she kept having them due to her not waiting the proper time for her body to heal. She finally listened to his advice and it worked. So, I am praying that God would give me strengh to overcome and have victory! I can only imagine how I will feel on my first ultrasound visit. In fact, I have an appointment with him Thursday. I think this will be the appointment where he releases me to try again!

Tahitha: Well thank God you have over came your situation. Isn't is awesome how God places people in our path. My husband drives me insane sometimes, but I cannot ask for a better man. He is supportive in every way. We met in church, believe it or not he is the reason why I serve the Lord today. He was in bible college and I was just coming out of the night clubs (with the boob job girl) I had an aweful night out, I will never forget, it was Mother's day, I was just falling apart. Then my friend asked me to go to church that I attended as a child and I always turned her down. But this time, I went. I went and bought me an appriopriate dress (I thought that I needed one) It was the best day of my life. I felt God for the first time touch me in a way I could not explain. I felt cleansed in all I was doing. Just the night before I was with people whom I barely knew, out in the clubs, when I woke I in a place I did not know, frankly I think I was assulted but cannot prove anything. But the moment I began to sing, it was clear to me, and then I met my prince, who guided me through this Christian walk. I have never turned back! Now my husband and I counsel teens on these very same issues. So this girl that I am standing in her wedding, knows well about my past and sees my changes by the life I live. :cb:

Debelli: Yes, Outback does make sweet potato chips, but they are not chips that is just what they are called. They are not on the menu, but you can ask for them. I never eat the ones out of the bags. The ones at Outback are just cut sweet potatos fried, just like the regular french fries. and the grilled shrimp are just to die for! But, Like I said the only way I eat sweet potatos are if they are the actual potato, not a chip. As for the veggies in the salad, that is exactly what I do chop, chop, and it helps, I will have one today perhaps I will attempt to add another veggie. I am outta control here :spin:

Well I think this is long enough, sorry gals, I vented a bit! Don't know what came over me

Sorry I missed yesterday, y'all. I had to take my car in to get checked out because of some problems. It ended up having some major leaks in some seals, problems with the cylinders that make the clutch work, etc. etc. In all, it will be about $1700. Yikes. It's in the shop today, and I am stuck at home s/o a car. It's a ton of money, but a lot less than a new car would cost.

I have been doing OK with the food. A little slip up on Sunday night when we went to a small group get-together. Some of the women who are on Weight Watchers feel compelled to bring no-nos even though they are not supposed to eat them. There was chicken pot pie (from Costco), strawberry rhubarb pie (also from costco), chocolate cake, devilled eggs, fried chicken, baked beans, marinated tomatoes and cucumbers, some fresh watermelon and cantelope, and my contribution, stewed beef with its juices served in a big platter of caramelized vidalia onions.

My knee has been acting up and it reminds me of the pain I had years ago when I finally had to have arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn cartilege. So I have not been walking and am hoping that it is just "nothing" and will go away if I give it some rest.

Debbie--Hope you are feeling better.

Talitha--Another way to think about the gym thing is to realize that strong muscles promote good health. So many women go to the gym to become a "babe." They go in their spiffy little leotard and want to get thinner that they already are. My friend calls them "skinny bit*hes." I'm certainly not one of them--far from it. But I do know that if I at least keep my muscles strong, I will help my bones, remain more flexible, be able to do more, etc. So, maybe you could accomplish the same thing at home by doing a little bit of resistance training. Just for your better health. You might find some good resources on-line. I certainly back your decision to stay away from the gym if it will cause you to "stumble" spiritually and mentally.

I'm now all enrolled in a French class starting the end of Aug. at U.C.F. So I'm reviewing my last years book so I can be up to par when the class begins.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi everyone (can't say Hi Ladies anymore, now that Daramus is back! :D )

My appt. isn't until 3:30 CST today, so I still have 6 hours to wait. What was I thinking to make the appt. in the afternoon??? Thank you to everyone for the kind thoughts and prayers. I am nervous, anxious, but trying to remain calm. :dizzy:

We’re supposed to go to a baseball game tonight, if it doesn’t rain. It should be fun, and I’m going to eat beforehand so I don’t overdo it with bleacher snacks. I figure I’ll probably have something, but damage control is a good thing, right? ;)

Bloviator – welcome! I like the WATP tapes, too. They’re a lot of fun!

Adrienne – Two little heartbeats! Wow! That’s what my DH is hoping for, he wants twins in the worst way. I told him HE wasn’t the one that had to carry them. I’ll be so thrilled to have a good, strong little heartbeat.

Crystle – Happy Birthday to your DD, and that’s great news about your DM. The waiting 15 helps me too, along with drinking some water in case I’m thirsty instead of hungry/munchy.

Laurie – Good luck staying OP! Baby steps.

Tonya – that salad bar sounds good. Now I’m craving spinach. Oh, and those sweet potato chips sound heavenly. Gee, I need to stop reading when people post food items!!!

Pancho – how lucky that you have a Trader Joes near you! I really wish we had one here in MN!

Fruit – welcome back! I’m just over 8 weeks along, so still very early. Thanks for the offer of help if I have questions. It’s very much appreciated! The float theme sounds neat. Do you have a picture?

Talitha – Thank you for sharing your story. You have come a long way. :grouphug:

Daramus – welcome back! Congrats on the marriage and the little one on the way!

Jack-K – Whoohoo for the good eating yesterday! I know how hard it is to get back on track. One day at a time!

Debbie – I hope your DM gets sprung today. Being in the hospital is no fun. I’m sorry you’re still feeling sick, especially with the weather you have down there. Ugh! I can only imagine how high your grass is after several weeks. DH has to mow ours at least twice a week or it’s a jungle! Can you rent a high-powered mower for a day to get it trimmed down? Oh, and the fruit – that sounds VERY strange. I’ve never heard of it!

Gator – The beef and onions sound wonderful. Is that a recipe from here?

ttfn,

Jenn

When we go out and I want a drink I have either a diet 7-up or diet ginger-ale with Segrums 7 or a vodka Madras
Ingredients

1 1/4 oz vodka
3/4 oz cranberry juice
3/4 oz orange juice
slice of lime
the fact that you have so little to lose makes it a lot slower for you to lose it. 2 pounds is great!

wanttheoldme
I think you did great! Of all the junk you could have eaten a couple of breaded chicken nuggets is not terrible.

bloviater
Welcome to SB! I think your goal is pretty fair. I lost 32 ponds since last July but only started excising 3 months ago so the Walk away the pounds is really going to help you a lot.

amhlawyer
That's what keeps me from falling off the SB wagon that awful sick feeling when I eat bad foods.

Talitha
It sounds like you have a great handle on yourself. From what you said going to the gym would not be in your best interests.

Welcome back!

Morning all!

I need to ask if anyone is getting email solicitations about weight loss products? I'm getting them all the time (they are getting through my spam blocker). I'm wondering if they are coming from an email list generated off this board? I'm very unhappy dealing with this spam, especially as they have no opt-out policy. Deb--do you know anything about this?

Yesterday was good eating wise. So far so good this morning. I have some bread baking and will have a tuna fish sandwich on fresh bread for lunch. I've been eating a lot of fresh fruit--cannot wait for the local peaches to come in!

Cherylco--that vodke madras sounds yummy! I drink a vodka and diet tonic (if available), but most bars don't carry diet tonic water so I stick with red wine when out.

JenninMN--I'll be thinking about you this afternoon! I hope everything goes well for you and you will have good news to report! :)

Gator--of all the no-nos from your gathering, the one that would be hardest for me to resist would be the fresh watermelon. I have to confess that I can't let the summer go by without a taste of watermelon every now and then.

Wanttheoldme--Sounds like you are listening carefully to your Dr. I hope he releases you this week and you can start trying again!

Missy--Good to see you back! I'm sorry you are having such a rough time with the pregnancies--hopefully this new Dr. will help you get to the bottom of things. I can only imagine hoe frustrating and heartbreaking this has been for you. I know you will have fun with the LSU float--although they are the wrong tigers!

Deb--Yeah the no appetite part was the only thing I liked too! Today is the first day my nose hasn't been running--so it's been two full weeks. I know you didn't want to hear that, but there you are. Those miracle fruit sound wierd. I wonder what the GI is on them? I actually love to eat lemons (I don't do it because they are do bad for your teeth). When I was little and had a cold my mom would dip lemon slices in sugar and give it to me to cut the phlem in my throat. Whenever I have a cold I want my lemon slices (and yeah--I did have a couple when my cold was at its worst).

Jackie--Good for you getting that walk in--don't worry the effort WILL show!

Darmius--Nice to see you back! You've been busy while you were away! It's good that you and the new Mrs. are getting ready to adopt a healthy lifestyle for your new little one! Do you know whether it is a boy or a girl?

Monet--What a nasty boss!!!!! Tell her she better treat you nice, or the eye-talian lady will have to pay her a visit--if you know what I mean.:s: I'm all for more days off! I'm baking bread now and it looks like I have enough flour for about two loaves, which will get me through till I leave. So when I return, I'll definately need a trip for flour. I could stop by on the way home, if I can let Belle stay at your house while we shop. She has a carrier, but there is no way she can stay in the car for any length of time. When I travel with her I only make quick gas/bathroom stops so she is not int he car for more than 5 minutes without the air on.

Talitha--I'm sorry you've had such a rough time with the weight. Boys can be positively evil to teenage girls, though I think the girls are worse with each other. But, as you know with your hubby, many men love their wives for who they are--and it is who they are that makes them beautiful at any weight. It sounds like you have a gem. Now if you can just love yourself for who you are!

Pancho--It's a great feeling when you get those compliments on your weight loss!

Heart--I think you need to skip weekends! Weekends seem to be the worst time for you--what is different about Saturday and Sunday for you?

Country--Glad to hear that your DM is home!

Time to get to work.

Have a great OP day everyone!

Susan

Hey All:wave:

Just forced myself to eat something. Only had some raspberries this morning, and though I'm not hungry, I made myself eat a potpie.

After I dropped LAUREN off at theatre camp I ran in and out of stores returning items that needed to be returned with a side trip to the PO. I have a ton of rebates that have to go out today.

I know what I forgot to mention, not that I'm proud ofit! When I was coming out from seeing my DM at the hospital, pulling out of the spot, there was one of those heavy duty poles at waist level that I just didn't see, was in my blind spot and boom, you got it, hit it. Not only did I dent/scratch my car up in the rear real nice, but my rear tail light is now busted! Gosh, you think they'd at least put a rubber bumper around something like that!!! Now I have to find a replacement for the light. I think when I wash the car the dent won't looks AS bad as it does now, that my car is filthy (it's white).

HELP! Speaking of driving...my kids are wanting to get their restricted! I'm not so worried about LAUREN driving, but MICHAEL is another story!!!! His brains are busy elsewhere and I'm afraid to even teach him. They have an appt next week to take their tests:fr: On the good side, MICHAEL won't get his regular DL until right before he leaves for college and he won't be driving there, so I really won't have to worry about that all that much.

FRUIT, you are too funny! I'm waiting for the lunch time report!!!!

OLDME, they definitely don't offer anything at our OUTBACK other than the usual looking sweet potato, which is fine with me anyhow, as I only eat a little if I eat it at all. When I realized that approx 3oz is a serving counted as a starchy carb I decided it just wasn't worth it. Did you see OPRAH yesterday? She had a guy on who made a sweet potato brulee that she was dying over. I'm going to see if I can find the recipe on her website and see if it can be modified. Try unusual veggies if you can find them in your area. I love trying new fruits and veggies whenever I can - it's the meats and mystery items I won't go near!!

GATOR, I feel for you with the car, besides what I posted above, I just had to have new tie rods AND my brake seal was leaking and I had no brakes about a week ago-that was $199 just then, month before, new brakes! It's always something. I have to get a major tune-up before I take the kids to go on this college hoping joy ride!

JENN, those sound "to die for!!!" Where did that recipe come from? Please make sure you post it on the recipe board when you get a chance so we can keep it forever! Yes, what WERE you thinking about making a afternoon appt? Live and learn!! We'll be waiting to hear from ya!

FILLISE, hmmmm, I do get them but not sure where they come from, but I always seem to get one here and there, so really, I'm not sure. Maybe we should both save a few over the next few days and see if we both are getting the same stuff? I never open them, but we can jot down the subject matter, or the main part of the e-mail name. LMK. The GI of the fruit, no ideas but honestly, if I had to scrape off what was on a pit, it would be probably 1/8 of a teaspoon, if that! It's tiny!!!! Have you ever thought about candying a lemon with agave??????

Well, I'm outta here. Going to go lounge on the couch with my snot rag at hand:eek: Have a few movies so I think I'll stick one of them on and watch it.

REMEMBER, CHAT TONIGHT AT 9:15PM EST!!!

Have a minute before I go to lunch and thought I would check in.

I have the best salad dressing that I found in Cooking Light. I adapted it to be legal: Something different.

3 T lite mayo
3 T splenda
2 T low fat milk
1 T white wine vinegar
1 T poppy seeds.

Blend with whisk.

Pour over lettuce. The salad called for greens, purple onions, almonds, and strawberries. Of course you can adapt how you want. I love the strawberries in it though.

Deb, first of all, you shouldn't be cutting grass if you are sick. Second, isn't Michael old enough to cut grass? That's why we have these kids. Make them work. Are you taking anything? Try some nyquil so you can get some rest. Hope your Dm gets home soon. This has lingered quite a long time. That was bizzare about that obit. Funny how fate works. Where can you get this miracle fruit? Sounds strange. Let the kids get their permits. After the initial worrying and stress of teaching them, it will be worth it. Maybe look into driver's ed for them. Ouch! those poles are always where they shouldn't be. I alsmot hit one the other day too. I even had made a mental note (I do mean mental) when I went in. Forgot all about it when I backed out. Stopped just in the nick of time.

Fruit, Yeah for breakfast. Hope lunch was just a good.

Tonya, what a touching story. God works in mysterious ways.

Gator, that beef and onins sounds delish. I just love carmelized onions. Give that knee some rest. Do you have any anti-inflamatories to take? Man that's a lot of car repairs. They seem to add up quickly.

Jenn, good luck today. Thanks for the recipe. I am sending it to DD as she loves stuffed mushrooms. Get some peanuts in the shell at the ballgame. At least you will have to work to get them and not to bad for you.

Cherylco, I love Madras'. Except after too many  all that juice gets to me. Now I'm on a kick of diet lemonade and vodka. Yummy. Gonna do without this week though.

Susan, yes I am getting thos weight loss pop-ups too. Very frustrating. Your bread smells devine. I tried making my own bread and it was just to dense. Maybe I should try some of Monet's flour if I can find it.

Oh Deb, I wanted a snack today (legal) so I waited 15 minutes, then 15 more. Started getting shakey so I had some soy nuts. Later wanted something else. Made myself wait 30 minutes. Still wanted it so I ate a piece of cheese. I got in 100 oz of water yesterday and 34 so far today.

Later,

Jackie

Beef and Onions:
3 LARGE vidalia or other sweet onion, peeled and sliced thin
1 beef rump roast (mine was almost 3 lbs.)
1 medium yellow onion, peeled and cut into chunks
If desired, 1 carrot, peeled and cut into 3/4" slices
about 1 qt. non-fat beef broth (I used Swansons)

Brown the beef in a little olive oil in a pressure cooker (lid off). When brown all over, add the yellow onion and carrot and beef broth to almost cover the meat. Put the lid on the pressure cooker, add the weight and cook on high until the weight begins to jiggle. Turn down the heat a little so that the weight has a rhythmic, medium jiggle (not frantic) and cook for 50 minutes. Take off heat and leave lid on until all the pressure has left the pot.

Meanwhile, in a large skillet, sauté the onions over medium low heat, turning often, for about 35 minutes, until the onions have slowly turned a light golden brown and are very tender. Do not brown quickly. Salt to taste.

Salt the beef "stew" to taste and let the meat "rest" a bit. Then slice the beef or shred it, and add it, any of the carrot and yellow onion and as much of the liquid as you want to the sautéed onions. You can add additional water if you want, for more "gravy." Adjust the seasonings. Enjoy!

This is very good. My husband loved it and it is great left over. I just made up the recipe because I love onions.

Does anyone use Splenda? I just discovered it for my strawberries, which I hardly use any, but I read something on the internet, I know you cannot always believe what you read. Just wondering. The internet said it causes:

Extension of the pregnancy period
Aborted pregnancy
Decreased fetal body weights and placental weights

I do not intend to use alot, ( I am talking about a 1/2 a packet here) but it does help with my fruit I need to eat. Just wondering! :?:

Anyway, I am about to leave work in exactly 50 minutes and I am bored. I guess I shall submit by food log for the day.

AM: 2 eggs, 1 slice SF toast and 2% milk
Lunch: Salad, lettuce all kinds, purple cabbage, broccoli, cheese, chicken, egg, bit of bacon and sunflower seeds and blue cheese
dressing.
Snack: 1 cup of sliced strawberries with 1/2 packet of splenda
Dinner: Planned either tuna fish salad and 3 tristcuits or skinless chicken and beans, depending on how I feel after youth service tonight. I will try to get my exercise when I get home. Also depends on what time I get out!
and water, water, water

I have had about 60 oz so far...

Okay gals, I out!

Solly

Heading home for the day.

Water so far is 68 oz.
Dinner is burgers, beans, slaw, peaches & cottage cheese.

Will walk as soon as I get home.

Good luck to everyone on WIW. I'm not looking forward to it.

Tonya, I use splenda. Not a lot, just here and there. Can't comment on the internet findings, but I would thinkit would take a heck of a lot over long periods of time. I beleive all natural pb is sugar free. SMuckers makes one that you can get at regular stores and health food stores carry just plain pb. Never bought the legal chocolate. If I wanted choc, I bought the Russell Stovers sf candy.

Hope to be at chat if computer is working. DD called and said it won't come on.

HEY ALL,

Sorry I haven't been on here much, a friend of mine went home from work on Thursday and found her husband dead in the bathroom floor....56 yrs old! SUCH A WASTE!!! I've been busy with the situation and my mind has hardly been on work let alone the board. It's been such a sad occurence...they were so close. Except for his going to Vietnam, they have not been apart for 35 yrs! Right now she's got her family with her, but they will have to go home at some point, and I'm really going to worry about her being by herself. Not that I think she would do something to herself, but her state of mind is beyond anything close to normal.
SO...please forgive me for being absent...

After a morning of bookkeeping, I went shopping this afternoon for my youngest niece's birthday present. Found her a cute tropical shirt and skort outfit. Also a beanie baby with her birth date (there has never been one on her birthdate until now--a fact which she has taken personally!)

Now I'm back home. I have a dinner meeting tonight. It's at a Catfish restaurant, so it shouldn't be too bad.

BOB and Deb--I'm on an anti-spam crusade. I will not rest until I rid my mailbox of ALL spam!!!! I try to click on links every now and then to help support the site, but I draw the line at (1) ads that block what I'm trying to read, and (2) spam in my personal mailbox. The Earthlink spamblocker does pretty well for most stuff. Only once in a blue moom does some of the porn stuff kick in, but these weight loss ads are in my mailbox almost every day. They are forwarding to a specific list, not just generatine possible userids at earthlink or aol. So they have to be getting their list from somewhere. I would pay a small subscription fee in order not to have my information sold. If it is simply being hijacked from the website, then we need better security.

oops--hit send before I meant too!

Just a quick check in...

DM will be out of the hospital on Thursday - she's asking me to smuggle her in some ice cream - I won't be a conspirator. She's on a low fat/low sodium diet in there and she's not liking it all that much:rolleyes:

JACKK, honestly, I wouldn't mind cutting the grass if is hadn't been so high, I wasn't so sick and it wasn't so hot! Umm, my son, do anything around the hous:nono: He's one of THOSE Jewish men! Are you joking, my son cut the grass, he almost had a cow when I asked him to start the mower up for me!!! The only thing I'm taking is a good seat up on the couch, nothing else. Nyquil would REALLY put me out I think, I'm tired enough. I'm sure it will pass soon, or at least I hope. Have NO clue where one would get the miracle fruit, it's actually a plant from somewhere in Africa. Here's what one website says about it:

Fruit: The fruit is a small bright red, ellipsoid berry approximately 2 to 3_cm long and containing a single seed. Although not sweet itself, when a single fruit is eaten and the fleshy pulp allowed to coat the taste buds of the tongue and inside of the mouth, an extraordinary effect occurs. The fruit will now allow one to eat a slice of lemon or lime without wincing. The marvelous aroma and inherent sweetness of the citrus remains but the sourness is almost completely covered. The effect remains for some 30_minutes or more. http://www.crfg.org/pubs/ff/miraclefruit.html

Interesting, huh? Seems you did better with your pole than I did. As for the snacks, I was really thinking on the terms of off plan foods, but it can work out to advantages with not over snacking, I guess;)

GATOR, that looks like a recipe that even I could make and not screw up, but then again...

OLDME, I don't use Splenda due to the maltodextrin in it and what it does to me when I have too much. I haven't heard about those findings, but then again, I haven't really paid attention to things doing with Splenda-do some more investigating. I find, sometimes, these big sugar companies put crap out about stuff, like they have about Stevia, to make people go back to sugar, or so they wish/hope! SF PB should be easy to find, any natural pb should be okay, just read the ingredients. I sometimes make my own, just throw a jar of unsalted dry roasted peanuts in my food processor and let it whirl...as for the chocolate, any chocolate with a cocoa content of 60% or more is okay, a 1/2 ounce serving. The higher the cocoa content the better (less sugar). LINDT has a 85%. Just be careful if this is a trigger food for you! The label will state the content, if it doesn't, don't buy it, you can't assume it's okay. Can't really comment on your intake as I don't remember/know how many calories you should be eating, but do watch your fiber and calcium intake, I don't see much of either one in there:)

BOB, sorry to hear about your friends DH, how did he pass? Sad:( I keep hearing about how bad the waters are in Sarasota-thought maybe you were floating down stream. Was going to check the ocean for your arrival;) What? I like big penis and balls!!! Sign me up, umm, second though, sign ELI up!!!!

FILLISE, they now have a spam block on AOL but these SPAMMERS keep changing their e-mail addresses so the ones you block are no biggie. You can block the domain but many come from earthlink and yahoo and those are so popular if I block them I wouldn't get a lot of good e-mails. I saw something the other day on TV about spam cops but didn't catch the whole thing, but their trying to make it harder. I'll keep and eye out better now and see if I can come to any conclusions.
Okay, time to make dinner:lol:

Later!

Hello everyone--- Had alot of company visiting the last few days. My sister and her husband are here from Boise, and then an Aunt from New Mexico, and one from Utah is here for a week. Friday, my best friend and her husband came out too. So we have been having a wonderful time, inspite of the weather. Cold, rainy and windy. Hoping the next few days are better. We are all planning on going to watch my son ride on Friday night. My Aunt Vi, from New Mexico is the one who sponsored him when they had their business, and got him his protective vest. She has never been able to catch one of his rodeo's. She is really looking forward to this. Then she has to catch a plane early Saturday morning for home.

My best friend Carie is getting all her western stuff gathered up so she can wear it. She is so funny!! She is trying to talk me into wearing some of her frilly western clothes, but I told her Brant wouldn't claim me as his mother if I got all duded up!!

TOM arrived Sunday morning, and I am having alot of cramping for some reason. Just feel really bloated, and fat!! Probably will stay off the scales this week, but will see how I feel tomorrow morning. Haven't felt this bloated for quite awhile.

Will get in a few replies here, going to be pretty busy this week and the beginning of next. We are leaving on the 2nd to go to ND for a week. Dh's sister and her husband are in Marmouth, ND. They have one of the oldest standing rodeos on the 4th, so we are planning on attending it.

Jack-k--With all the walking, not to mention the trips to the potty, something should have moved!! lol. Oh my gosh, that dressing sounds so good!!

Deb-- Sure hope you will be feeling better soon. We have missed you!! Sounds like you need to find someone with a swather to mow down that hay field haha!! I love mowing our yard. But I do it once a week. And we have a very big yard. It takes 1 1/2 hours to mow.

Fruit-- WAY TO GO!! What's for lunch??

Want--The sweet potato chips sound delish.... I will have to try some here at home. But 3 oz sure wont make much, will it?? I too am looking for some of the legal chocolate. Does anyone have some brand names??

Gator-- Your dish sounds good. How do you caramelize the onions?? Have fun with your French class. Oopps, I see you have added the recipe here. Thank you!!

Jenn- Those mushrooms sound yummy! Do you remove from heat before you add the cheeses? Good luck on your Dr appointment today. I will be thinking of you.

Fillise-- I seem to be getting a few too. I don't like them either. But I have been told just to delete them, as if you go in and unsubscribe, then they know they have a live address. But I don't know anything about it so which is the best do you think??

BOB--ROFLMAO!! On another note, my condolences to your friend. It just goes to show, that you never know.... 56 is way too young!! Sounds like she has quite a friend in you. She may need that as soon as all the family leaves. My prayers to her and the family.

Well, I thought yesterday I was feeling bad due to the weekend's sugar episode- As the day progressed, I felt worse and worse then started running temp, body aches, headache, and now I have all of the above but infected tonsils to boot. I feel like crap. Had a crappy time staying asleep last night. I was freezing and then I would be hot. So I guess I got some sort of virus. Just hope I get to feeling better tomorrow. My house is a wreck and I haven't had the energy to do ANYTHING. Okay, I'm thru complaining.

Daramus- Welcome back and when I was pregnant with Boogie, my hubby gained 30 pounds!

Fillese- Weekends--- it's when I'm around other people eating what they like,etc... But of course, they stay skinny and I pile on the pounds. BTW- I haven't received any solicitations.

Talitha- if you know the gym will trigger you into some obsessive mode- then stay away from it! Besides, there's stuff you can do at home to get into shape. I personally won't go to a gym because it makes me feel so bad about myself when I'm standing next to some tan blonde weighing 110 pounds and fake boobies.

Well, I need to go- the kids are being their worst!

Hey Everyone!

Just to report...we ate at a mexican rest. for lunch and I had a salad and just a few chips. I know it isn't perfect but - I usually never get a salad there - so give me a little slack! No time to post to everyone tonight - have some school work that I have started but I'll try to be better tomorrow!!!!

Morning, and I do mean morning!

Woke up at 3:30am to find ELI not in bed. My blood pressure always rises when he pulls this crap. I get worried and think that possibly there's something wrong. Thankfully, he's in the kitchen watching TV, good to know he's actually at home, but now, I can't go back to sleep and I'm pissed! I hate it!

I'm feeling better as well. Knew I was starting to feel better when all of a sudden I was hungry and as I kept eating, nothing was filling me up. Not sure if it's from feeling better, or so I think, or the fact that TOM was about to show, which it did right before I went to sleep. At this moment, at dark-o-thirty, my nose is not stuffed, so I'm going by that. Let's see how the day progresses!

TEENSY, what's a swather? Sounds like your family is scattered all over the US! Sounds like you had a good time visiting with them this past weekend. Good luck to DS on Friday night. You should post a pic of him riding one day!!!!

HEART, hope you feel better soon, I know it sucks to feel icky! Don't worry, my house is a wreck too!!!

FRUIT, keep up the good work, on the eating and the posting;)

Just thought I'd come on for a moment and vent. Guess I'll just go back in bed and lie there....

Later

Forgot to ask-did anyone finally go to the chat room last night?

BTW, GOOD LUCK WITH WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY TODAY!!!!

Good Morning!

It feels so nice to be able to tumble out of bed, and get on here first thing, like I am used to doing. Today is my day off. I slept really late! I got out of bed at about 7:15! ;)

I got on the scale this morning, and I am the same as last week, but that will change. I always drop a pound or two after I get up, due to water retention that accumulates overnight. I will weigh again in an hour or two and see how it looks.

Laura has gotten me all addicted to her Gamecube game she got for her birthday. It is a really fun game, and yesterday, I let her take my car and go visit some friends just to get her out of the house and off the Gamecube so I could play! Hopefully, I can get over it fast. I have too much to do to spend time playing video games! :(

I tried reading all the posts, and I ended up skimming a lot. I sure hope I did not miss anything important!

DEB: I am sorry you are not feeling well, and having trouble sleeping. What was Eli doing up in the middle of the night? He could not sleep? How is your mom doing? Tell her hello from me.

FRUIT: Hello! Good to see you back! You did pretty good yesterday, at that Mexican restaurant. I always have trouble with the chips. When I go with my husband, we make them take the chips away so we are not tempted.

HEART: Feel better soon! I hate having throat infections! I hope that is all it is. If you don't feel better soon, see the doctor! That is how my Mono started out!

TEENSY: You really should get all duded up for the rodeo! You need a hat, and boots, and all that! Have fun! I hope your son rides really well! Such a treat for your Aunt to be able to see him ride finally!

FILLISE: If you are on an anti-spam campaign, you NEED Mailwasher. You can find it at Mailwasher.net. I registered my copy for like $5. It previews your mail for you, and you can delete and bounce mail before it hits your computer. This makes it look to spammers like a dead address. I get NO spam now. Check it out. Miss Belle can stay here, if you want to come by on your way home. We could even put her in 'your' room with the door closed, and she would have a bit of freedom. We will just make sure that Tiger is outside. No prob! He has been staying out almost all the time now anyway. He doesn't like air conditioning! (weird cat!)

BOB: I am so sorry about your friend's husband. What a shock for her! Its good she has you as a friend, and you are thinking about how she is going to need your friendship in the near future! That is so thoughtful of you! What a great friend you are!

JACK: I hope your computer is not messed up! I hate having computer problems! When it won't work, I feel so isolated! :)

WANT: I buy natural peanut butter at Publix. Kroger has a natural pb too. Smuckers makes one as well. You have to stir them up, but they are the healthiest kind of pb to get; just peanuts and salt. The trans fats in the other brands are worse for you than sugar. As for chocolate, I buy a number of brands, but all are 70% cocoa solids. Recently, my favorite has been Cote d'or. I have Chocolove, but it is not as good. Lindt makes a 70%, as does Sharffenberger, and El Rey. I have gotten a few other brands at the farmer's markets around here that are good, but I am not sure of the name. Only what the package looks like!

DARAMUS: Welcome back! We had not quite given up hope that our token man was lost forever! Congrats on the new addition expected to your family, and on your marriage! You have been a busy guy, so we will forgive you for being absent so long! Hop right back on the wagon and bring the Mrs. SB is so healthy, it is fine for pregnant women.

TALITHA: Give Selah a big hug and kiss from me. I am still smiling over how she was flirting with that man in the next booth. :) I am always off on the weekends, and right now, I am only working until 11, so afternoons are free. I am hoping to get my schedule changed in the next week or so, and work 6 to 1 or 2, and then have Tuesdays and Thursdays off. This week, my day off is today, and next week, it is Friday. I leave for vacation the next Sunday though. You are welcome to come over whenever you want! Just let me know when to expect you!

I hope I did not miss anyone...if I did, its because my screen will only go back so far, and I don't want to lose my post. I am about to go have some bacon and eggs for breakfast...will hopefully get the chance to check in again later this morning! Have a great day everyone! I hope the metal monster is kind....

Happy WIW

Hope the scale is good to everyone today.

It sure was nasty to me. After spending half the day in the potty I thught sure I would get rid of that weekend wt, but I was wrong. I am not a happy camper and only have myself to blame.

We did get our 3 miles in last night. Boy was it hot. My legs felt like rubber. Later, we walked to a friend's house (another mile) for a drink for his 50th. I was proud, she had chips and dip and pretzels out, and I did not partake of even one. Felt good about it when I got home.

We have bunco tonight and even though I have never had dessert with them in the last year and a half, I am taking sf yogurt with me so I won't be tempted. We usually go out to dinner on Wed with a friend, so I am taking my ww bun with me.

Have a meeting this morning and a gyno appointment this afternoon so I probably won't be back on unless I can squeze in a minute.

BOB, how awful for your friend. I can't even imagine her state of mind. I'm sure you will be there for her after her family leaves. Prayers for her.

Deb, I know the challenge was for off plan foods, but I need to incorporate it into my daily eating too. Right now I'm treating off plan foods as a death sentence. Telling myself, I cannot have anything, it will kill me. Could yur mom have carbolite? Didn't know the fat content of it. Will she have to remain eating that way when she comes out? Glad you are feeling better today. Sorry abut chat. I was plannin on being there. But we went to a friend's house for a drink for his 50th and didn't gt home until 10:30.

Teensy, sounds like you have been busy entertaining, but having lots of fun too. How neat that your aunt will finally get to see the rodeo.

Heartmom, feel better soon.

Fruit, good for you, next time take triscuits in place of the chips.

Monet, boy 7:15 is really late. I find that the older I gt the earlier I get up. I guess I'm turning into my parents. Enjoy your day off.
Congrats to all the losers today, and the rest of us, just try a little harder and we will prevail.

Well the scale was not good to me! I lost a whopping .5! I weighed on Saturday and I was down 1 lbs. Will I ever get off this back and forth stump? What am I doing? Perhaps, I will not eat sweet potatoes for awhile, perhaps that may help. I mean geezzz I barely eat them now, maybe 2 times a week at that! I feel so discouraged. As least last week I blamed it on Aunt Flo, poor thing its not even her fault. Well I was going to try to make a cheesecake from one of those recipes posted here for our church gathering, but not anymore. I may eat some. I will just make something I don't like. Okay, I have been told that the weight will just start coming off, and when is this? I lost like 6 lbs on Atkins the first 2 weeks. Makes me want to go back. But can I withstand my eggs with no toast and milk? Confession time: I was tempted to go get me a bagel and cream cheese with a granita with morning, but I talked myself out of it. what is wrong???!!! :stress: so right now I am at 161! I lost better on weight watchers too. But I was hungry...

Okay done venting.....

Bob: Sorry to hear about your friend. Man, that's a hard situation.

Hope everyone has a pleasant day!

Hey, Hey, Ladies! Happy WIW! The scales have been very kind to me this week - I'm at 185.5!!!! That's down 2.5 lbs from last week's WIW!!! So even though I had that little slip on Sunday, it didn't ruin my week! I've been eating SO on plan lately and I've been taking Deb's challenge to heart and I've been drinking in the 100 ounces of water range! I'm literally peeing every 1/2 hour but it sure helps.

My food intake looks like this most days:

Breakfast: shredded wheat w/ puffed Kashi and skim milk with some blueberries and splenda. Water.

snack: grapes & water - sometimes a diet, caffeine-free drink.

Lunch: salad w/ sf dressing, can of light tuna, 4 triscuits & water

snack: peanuts and 4 more triscuits & water

dinner: sf peanut butter with sf jelly on sgww bread and a piece of fruit. Sometimes a scoop of sugar free, lowfat ice cream. Just a little. Maybe another diet drink (non-caffeinated.)

Since my hubby was out of town for 8 days, I got into the habit of eating dinner with the kids - around 6:00 or so. I think a lot of my problems stem from the fact that with him, I eat dinner so late. First off, I'm starving by 8:00 and then I go to bed at 9:00!! How good can that be? So since he's been home, he's been on his own for dinner and I've been sticking to my plan. It's working for me.

I like this so much better than Atkins. I really feel like I'm eating a well-balanced, healthy diet. Fruit, whole grains, low-fat meats... way better to me than bacon, cheese and fried, unbreaded chicken wings!

Well, I'm finally seeing some results. It took a while but I'm really staying focused. I've been spending way too much time lately in my closet trying on clothes I've outgrown. Some fit me already, some will fit me in another 10 lbs... you get the idea. The thought of wearing them again is making me giddy. In the meantime, my regular clothes are actually starting to be too big! Yipee! Sorry for rambling on. For those of you for whom the scale has not been kind... be patient and stay with the program. It seems like I drop in chunks. I'll stay the same weight for 12 days then it'll be a couple pounds gone. I have to remember this during those long stretches. Thanks for all the support here.

Good morning! Britt had a very nice b-day yesterday. Her dad surprised her and we are getting her her own phone line. So I need to call on that in a bit. She was very surprised. I am so puffy this morning. I'll probably weigh in tomorrow. If it's the same as today then I'll count it as for real. My rings are tight so I am sure there is some water retention.

Deb...I am so sorry to hear that you are felling so poorly. Glad your mom is gonna get to come home soon.

Talitha...I hear you loud and clear about the gym. Just this way of eating was a challenge for me after years of battling an eating disorder. There are still time I have to remind myself it's not about being skinny but healthy. I think it's awesome that you realize what your trigger is and stay away from it. It's awesome to know that you have God helping you through. It's the only way I could have gotten this far without reverting back.

Jack-K...I think the scales are having a conspiracy this week. WTG getting in your walking. It's been almost 2 or 3 weeks since I've had any consitant exercise. I think that is gonna be my key to getting these extra pounds back off.

amhlawyer...WTG on your weight loss this week!

wanttheoldme ....hang in there. Sometimes it just takes a while and wooosh several pounds will come off. I'd really watch my starchy carbs and meat portions. If those are in line I bet the weight will start coming off faster.

Monet....7:15 doesn't seem very late....I tried to sleep in this morning and it was only 6:30...I would love to sleep till say 8 or 9...but it aint happenin'.

Heartmom..hope you feel better soon.

Teensy...LOL I can just imagine that western wear. I love western clothes but there are some that are just a bit much. And I KNOW my daughter wouldn't be seen with me.

Susan..sorry you are getting a lot of spam. I wish mine was weight loss related. That nasty stuff that comes in drives me batty. I opened one the other day not knowing what it was and had to cover the screen from 6 year old..ugh.

Bob...I am so sorry for your friends loss. I am praying for her. Especially when her family leaves and she faces those first few days and nights alone.

Well I've sat here way too long. What's new. :) Have a blessed and wonderful day.

Love,
Crystle

Hey everyone. This is jsut a quick note to let you all know that I've missed you. Been so busy this week that I haven't posted at all since monday.. Two days without the board, and I'm going into withdrawl. The bridal shower and bechelorette aprties are this weekend, and I'm working all 3 jobs with family from out of town visiting. AHHHH!!!!

ANyway. I'm eating way toomuch. What happened to my 1 starch a day???? After my WIW this am I'm deffinitely taking that more seriously. I was back up to 182!!!!!! I don't feel discouraged, though because my clothes are looser, and Travis told me yesterday that his guess is that I lost 5 lbs this week. He says he can see it. Could it be a lull in loss to gain muscle? I have been walking every day between 2-4 miles, and doing weights and of course my laps when I'm babysitting. Speaking of which, I'm gonna be late!! I'll try to get on tonight after everyone leaves from small group, and send you all some replied.

PS with beautiful days like these, who needs a gym anyway ??????

Deb- Caffeine makes my lungs contract and my muscles spazm, mostly in my abdomen. It's very painful and scary, but it won't really hurt me. I can have a little but, if I am eating food, but I am afraid of restaurants that claim to have Caf-free diet coke. One time they had the taps switched, and I was in pain, and couldn't breath comfortably till the next day. It's just not worth the risk to me, and I preffer water anyway.

I'm exhausted, peeved & TOM has flowed in! I don't think anyone should be around me today, I'm in RARE FORM! I'm not a nice person when the lack of sleep has crept up on me and this time it's bitten me in the arse! ELI is off today, he hasn't a clue what he's in for! One false move, one false word and he's going to have a foot stuck up his arse!! He'll WISH he was working today!

MONET, you are too funny! Sending LAURA out so you can play her games!! Must be addicting! Thanks, I will say hello to my DM for you:D ELI had gotten home at gosh knows what hour 2:00am maybe? I woke up, stuck out my feeler (leg) and he wasn't there and boom, I was up!!!!!

JACKK, if the scale is nasty to you it would probably kill me! I don't dare get on, I know I'm still up and just getting on it would make me want to kill it! Sure, DM could have Carbolite, but it would never make it in to the hospital:s: Actually, it would melt by the time I got it there, it's soft serve. Have fun at bunco tonight!

HE JUST WALKED IN, BIT HIS FRIGGIN HEAD OFF ALREADY - I'M STARTING EARLY!!! He keeps asking me what I want to do today, like we ever do anything different?!? He asked me yesterday. He always gets the same answer, whatever you want. He tells me, if it wasn't for me, he'd be sleeping, which I thought he would still of been when I got home. Of course, I told him if it hadn't been for him, I would of been sleeping too last night!:s: WARPATH!!!!!!

OLDME, hey, it's a loss, take it and be happy, better than a gain, that's for sure. Are you journaling? If so, you may be able to find the culprit of why you are teetering. When you eat sweet potatoes how much do you eat? Maybe too many starchy carbs?

LAW, CONGRATS on a great loss this week!!!:bravo: Looking at your menu, it doesn't look like you are eating enough, do be careful. You want to make sure what you are losing is fat and not muscle. What about the fiber, the calcium-protein???

COUNTRY, a new phone for DD? I think kids these days have their own cell phones more that their own telephone lines at home. I wish sometimes my kids had their own lines too, they really can talk up a storm!!!!

TALITHA, have fun at the festivities this weekend! You could easily be gaining muscle and losing fat. Listen to TRAVIS, he seems like a smart cookie;)

Okay, I'm outta here and contemplating my next move of attack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:s:

Countrymom: Thanks for the tip. But I am not sure that is what it is. I mean I haven't had meat for like 2 weeks. I eat mostly chicken and grilled seafood, and for starchy carbs, I eat about 2-3 a week. Now that does not count, I do have 1 slice of sugar free nature's own a day. But that is about it. I have add more fruit, more veggies in my salads (which I eat daily by the way!!) I have had dessert 1 time in 2 weeks! I started this WOE like June 9th, I am going on 3 weeks here and only lost .5 lbs. ???!! Sorry, I just vented again. I will cut out my starchy carbs to 1 a week and see what happens.

Can anyone tell me what is considered a starchy carb?

OLDME, from a post a while back as well as on the
FOOD INFORMATION BOARD

Grains, Beans, and Starchy Vegetables (6 or more servings a day): A serving has 15 grams of carbohydrate, 3 grams of protein, and about 80 calories. Most have no more than 1 gram of fat. Healthy choices include whole-grain breads and high fiber cereals, tortillas, oatmeal, bulgur, brown rice, dried beans, lentils, peas, yams, acorn or butternut squash, pumpkin

Thanks! Well it looks like out of the list I really only eat about 3, and not all the same day. The bread, yams and dried beans. So I am well within my budget.

Morning all!

Another beautiful day here in East Alabama. The humidity is slowly creeping back up to mornal though--should be back in full force by the weekend.

Deb--I've also somehow gotten on a list for real estate brokers--so now I'm getting all those too! Sheesh. I could block emails from anyone not in my address book, but then, like you, I'd miss some that are ok. Glad to hear that your DM will come home on Thurs! Now take care of yourself--please!

Teensy--the emails I'm getting don't have an unsubscribe option. I read somewhere to only do the unsubscribe if it takes you to a website. If you have to send an email, the theory was that it only got you on more lists. Sounds like you have a busy week this week--have fun with all your company!

Heart--I hope you are feeling better soon. I had that crap a couple of weeks ago--no fun! I guess the best way to handle weekends is always to make sure you have stuff you can eat and you like. That way you don't get to feeling so deprived.

Fruit--WTG on the salad. mexican restaurants are the worst for me--even though there are things on the menu we can eat--you have to sit there with those chips in front of you--AARRGGHH!

Monet--I'll try the Mailwasher. I did download an anti spy-ware program yesterday and ran it. Amazed at all the stuff I've picked up while surfing. My browser at the church was hijacked by a spyware program, so I've become sensitive to that as well! I think Belle and I would love to stop by on our way home. It will be the end of July. When are you headed out on vacation?

Jackie--Have fun with the bunco--you sound very well prepared!

Wanttheoldme--evil scale! Don't worry it will drop. I find that I lose in spurts--real fast for a while, then nothing for a while. It is also helpful to take your measurements. A lot of time you will find that even when the scale won't budge, you are still losing inches!

Adrienne--WTG! You are making great progress--it's fun to pull out those old clothes and wear than again isn't it! Even more fun when you have to go buy new clothes.

Country--I'm thankful the EArthlink does a good job at keeping the really nasty stuff out of my mailbox! I know your daughter has to be thrilled with her phone line--at 16 that's a pretty good present!

I haven't gotten on the scale this mornin--forgot all about it! Belle and I have to go to the vet in a little while. Last night she started foaming at the mouth. She doesn't act sick otherwise (and it can't be rebies--she's had her shot and she never goes outside). But I thought we better check it out.

Have a good Op day everyone!

Hi everyone,

The news...

We saw the yolk sack and the placenta, but because of the placement (way far back inside) the little office ultrasound couldn't zoom in far enough to confirm a heartbeat. The nurse *thinks* she saw movement, but nothing conclusive.

I have an ultrasound scheduled with the BIG radiology machine at 9:45am tomorrow. I guess we'll know for sure then.

The rollercoaster isn't finished for me yet. *sigh*

Please keep saying strong peanut prayers for me!

Good Wednesday morning everyone. Gheez, you miss one day around here, and catching up takes awhile.

I was so busy yesterday. We left the house around 9 a.m. and didn't get back home until almost 3 p.m., and that's with two little children. I was exhausted. Plus, I live in the Phoenix area, and the heat wipes ya out. I had to go to the outlet mall and return a pair of shorts I bought (when I washed them the brown tag bled onto the white shorts). I then had to run a gazillion errands...Wal-mart, Costco, Trader Joe's, and took my 11-month old to the doctor only to find out she has a double ear infection. So we now have to worry about keeping this antibiotic cold for the first 7 days of our trip, and remembering to give it to her at regular intervals. At least she should be feeling better by the time we pull out of here Friday a.m. I am staying home all day today to do laundry and pack. I hope to workout with an exercise tape when my baby is asleep. I haven't worked out at all this week.

I bought some bread, pitas and tortillas at Trader Joes, and hope they will get me through the entire trip since there really aren't any health food stores where we will be in Iowa. I also bought some of those little packets of ranch dressing, since I know the nutritional count on those. We will leave Friday morning and won't be back until around the 11th. I am going to miss you all. I may try to log on when we are gone, and check in.

I weighed 129 this morning, and seem to be fluctuating between 129-130. Some days I am as low as 128.5 or up to 131, but pretty steady at 130. I pray for no more than a 2-3 pound gain during this trip.

Debelli: I hope you are feeling better soon. That TOM is bad enough without feeling sick too. That miracle fruit sounds really interesting. Red Robin is an American Restaurant, and has burgers and stuff. I'm glad to hear Mom's coming home tomorrow.

Fruit: I can't wait to see the picture of the float; how exciting for you! You did a great job at lunch. I always get the fajitas when I go to Mexican Rest. minus the rice and tortillas. It seems to fill me up just to eat the meat with the onions, peppers, guac, s.c. & beans. I feel totally satisfied with that. I always eat over on the portion sized though. Hey, we do our best, right?

Talitha: Wow, what a story. Isn't it amazing how one event in our life and one a-hole can really affect our life for a very long time? It sounds like you have found a gem in your husband! Remember that the scale doesn't tell the entire story; you are probably losing inches. I am impressed that your husband even notices. I ask my husband (22 pounds later) if he notices, and he says, "well yeah, but when you live with someone and are with them everyday, it just happens under your nose, and isn't as noticeable." Whatever!!

Daramus: Welcome back and congratulations on all the positive changes in your life. I didn't know you before, but look forward to getting to know you, your wife and little peanut.

Want: You are doing a great job on your eating! I love the Blue Bunny ice cream. I stick with the Health Smart fudgesicles because they are also low in fat and calories and the sugar alcohol is really low. BUT, my mom just had me try one of her Blue Bunny NSA drumsticks, and it was delicious. I better now buy any of those, because if they are in the freezer, watch out! Laura Scudders makes an all-natural peanut butter (smooth or chunky). I get it at Costco, but have seen it at the regular grocers as well. Try not to get discouraged; I know it is hard, but you will eventually see the losses. You may be building muscle also, and that weighs more than fat.

Gator: Boy, what a repair job. I say we go back to horses and buggies. They had to be more reliable. I hope your knee feels better soon, and that it is not serious. Is it the same knee you had surgery on before?

BOB: So sorry to hear about your friend's husband. What a tragedy. You never know is this game called life. You really have to live every day to the fullest! I have a friend who just lost her husband (he was 40). He got a staph infection (they think from a guinea pig bite), and died.

Heart: Hope you feel better soon!

Jack: I love to play Bunco; do you play every week? Sounds like you are really planning ahead; hopefully you will be able to stay strong, and not give in to all the yummies they will probably have there.

amhlawyer: Congrats on the 2.5 pounds. You sound just like me. I am so happy to be away from Atkins and doing SB too. I really feel like my body is thriving on this way of eating, and I was not happy on Atkins. Atkins is not a lifestyle change; SB is. I've read several times that you should not eat anything 3 hours before bedtime, so I am sure that eating early has a lot to do with your success. On the days that my husband goes to the gym after work, we eat without him. He usually gets home those days around 6:30-7:00 and that's too long to make the kids wait to eat, and I am usually starved by then. We eat together the other 4-5 days a week. I wish you continued success. The weight loss helps keep you motivated, doesn't it?

Jenn in MN: I have to tell you that you are the main reason I logged on today. I have so much to do, but wanted to check on you. So sorry to hear you couldn't get more conclusive evidence of the heartbeat. The yolk sac is always a positive sign. I am continuing to pray that your appt. this a.m. proves that the little one is doing well. I will check later to read your post. Best wishes!

Well, gotta go switch laundry and start packing!

Talk to you all later.

JenninMN--Must admit that I was also a little worried that there was no report from you last night or this morning when I was on. Checked back to see if anything new was here and saw your update. Try to dwell on the positive--the sak and the placenta! I've sent up a prayer for you that it will be all good news tomorrow and that you dont' go nuts waiting today!!!!!

Jenn - did they do an internal u/s or an external one? Internal is almost the ONLY way to go this early to ensure seeing the h/b. I'll be thinking about you tomorrow at 9:45 - is that EST or central time or what? I think I have it figured out (your 9:45 is MY 10:45!) I'll send extra good luck vibes your way! Hey! My mom' in Minneapolis today and tomorrow for business! small world, eh?

Pancho, thanks for the encouragement! Yes, I totally agree that this is a lifestyle change (and shall I say, slightly cheaper than Atkins, too?!)

FILLISE: We will be on vacation July 5 to about July 17. Let me know when to expect you! How is Miss Belle?

JENN: Sounds like things are looking pretty good. I hope you get all the reassurance you need at the radiologist appointment. I know how you feel, worrying and all. I lost three babies, and had three. I feel sure things will work out fine for you! Having morning sickness is a good sign! That means the hormones for maintaining pregnancy are strong.

DEB: Poor Eli! He is not going to know what hit him!

PANCHO: Where are you going on vacation?

LAW: WOo Hoo! Congrats on the loss! I know what you mean about eating late. I hate it. My hubby is never ready for dinner until 8ish... and that really screws me up!

WANT: I know you feel discouraged, but don't give up. Some of us are just turtle losers. I am extreme. It takes me a month to lose a pound! I can be totally good, and still not lose. My doctor claims I have NO metabolism! It is on account of my thyroid, which he is trying to get regulated right. Its better, but still SO hard to lose! Have you had your thyroid checked? There are new guidelines for the normal range of TSH, which most doctors use to diagnose an underactive thyroid, or Hypothyroidism. The new range is .3 to 3.0. If you have not had yours checked recently, you might want to ask your doctor to do that. It could make a big difference in your weight loss, or at least help you deal with the frustration of slow loss if you know the reason!

ok..gotta go do more work!

Sorry I didn't get on to post last night or earlier this morning. My appointment took longer than expected, with the blood draw and having to find me a spot in radiology this week.

Then we had to race off to the baseball game. I had a hot dog (yes, with bun :nono: ) and peanuts (Thanks, Jack-K!).

The weather was very weird - it was a full-blown thunderstorm everywhere else, but the stadium was dry. We got a few drops here and there, but it all passed around us.

We got home just after 9, and I was exhausted. We just climbed into bed when the tornado siren went off! :fr:

So downstairs to the basement we went, until the worst had passed. I didn't get much sleep, with all the thunder and lightning booming every minute, but at least our house is still standing. An area not too far from us was leveled. Scary stuff!

Thanks for the reassurance, everyone. I'm just hanging in there until tomorrow. Today should go by pretty quickly, and I have my finals for IT Management class tonight (ugh!). Needless to say I'm having to prop my eyes open with toothpicks.

Adrienne, yes, it was the internal one. You're right, it's far too early to pick anything up on the external.

ttfn again,

Jenn

Okay don't faint but I've actually been a good girl today and am keeping track of today eats. Breakfast was a no go..didn't eat was too tired. Lunch was:

1 cup lettuce
2.4 oz tomato
1.1 oz Radish
.6 oz onion
1/4 cup low fat cottage cheese

At fitday they said this comes to 78 cal. 1 gram fat 8 carbs and 8 protien

I haven't even snuck a chip one today. :D I mowed for about 30 minutes. I know it's not truly exercise but it sure was hard. I did one of the ditches. It's just too hot to stay out to long. Gonna try for the other ditch tonight.

I hope every one is having a super blessed and full day. Remember it's all about being the best you that you can be. And YOU are WONDERFUL!!!!!!

Back from lunch and I had 2 pieces of skinless chicken and kidney beans and water, it was good. But I think these beans are gonna stay with me! heartburn city. Oh well tonight my dh is speaking on a radio station for the christian channel so right after work, we have to drive to New Orleans (about an hour) so dinner will be late tonight. We are going out to eat, so I will have a salad and grilled chicken breast.

Countrymom, I feel like pig compared to what you have eaten today! I could never do that. Besides I detest cottage cheese.

Well I guess I should finish opening my mound of mail I got here. So busy, busy... not at work, but just life in general. Dr.'s appt. tommorrow I will ask him about this weight loss or rather NO weight loss issue. I am sure I will get an ear load. I will make dh sit in the hall, so we don't have his comments interferring.

Tonya, if you only have 20 lbs to lose, you are not going to lose a lot quickly. But the inches will show up probably sooner than the scale. I lost inches very quickly. Hang in there. You did great not giving into that bagel.

lawyer, congrats on your 2.5 loss. That is great. You really need to add some veggies to your meals. I didn't see any listed. That will help fill you up plus the fiber.

Country, good luck on being down tomorrow. Those tight rings are always a sign.

Talitha, with all that walking and exercising I'm sure DH can see some improvements. Don't worry about that scale, it can be fickle. Just let your clothes be your judge.

Deb, hope you and Eli are still married after today. But I'm sure he knows when to keep his mouth shut and just agree with you. Hope you feel better.

Susan, Hope Belle checks out ok. That would be scarry.

Jenn, think positive. I'm sure you will see that heartbeat today. Prayers coming your way. Glad you were safe last night.

Pancho, Good luck on your trip. Just be conscience of what you are eating and do go on a binge (as I tend to do) and you will do fine. Sounds like you are well prepared and that is the key. Hope DD gets feeling better. We only play bunco once a month, but we don't really play. We just sit around and talk all night and then roll one time for the gifts and eat dessert.

Off to the gyno, fun fun.

An update on Miss Belle--When the vet opened her mouth she has some huge red stomas in there--so it is probably a bacterial infection. We got ten days worth of antibiotics and that should hopefully cover it. He took some blood to make sure that there were no other underlying causes (kidney problems, mainly) but everything there was just fine. Anyway if she is still doing it after a week, we have to go back, but I'm hoping this will take care of it!

JenninMN--I was so focused on your u/s yesterday that I totally forgot that you were in the area hit by the bad storms last night! Glad to hear that you came through it OK! We will be waiting to hear the good news tomorrow!

Crystle--WTG on lunch--you did better than I!

Want the old me--your lunch sounds great too!

Jackie--It was scary when Belle started foaming at the mouth all of a sudden. Fortunately she didn't act sick in any other way--otherwise we'd have gotten Dr. vet right out of his bed last night! Now notice, when I was sick I did not go to the Dr. (though I probably should have), Belle wheezes a little and I'm on the phone making an appointment as soon as the office opens!

Have a good afternoon everyone!

Um, Deb--if you feel that bad, I say Eli deserves whatever he gets! Having just had the crud AND TOM too, I know how bad you feel, and my personal philosophy is if I'm miserable--everyone has to be miserable. So I say let him have it!!! LOL!

Deb- take some Midol, girl- just kidding.

Adrienne- congrats on your loss- but where's the veggies?

Want- I know the scale sucks at times- but at least it was down. In a year's time, that adds up to 25-30 pounds.

Jenn- keep us posted.

As for me, I feel like run overed crap. I went to the doc today and tested positive for strep throat and I have a icky virus(duh). My neck is swollen and my face is puffy. I ache all over and hate it when I get the chills so bad that my back hurts from all the shaking. I got a penicillian(sp?) shot in my hip(ouch). He said I should start feeling a little better tomorrow and alot better the next day. Question- does anyone get the runs from Russell Stovers Sf candy? I was wondering because I ate 2 pecan delights and about an hour later, I literally had to run to the bathroom. Now my stomach feels all icky. I don't know if it's the virus or not. My stomach hasn't bothered me until now. Anyway, WIW was pretty good for me considering I was up several pounds. Now it's only up 1/2 a pound. Too bad it's from being sick though. I'll take it anyway.

Good WIW to everyone-- hope the scales are good to all of you!! I am still at 174, but that is okay since I have felt so bloated with TOM. Guess, it is just in my head. I will definitely take staying the same over gaining.

Have just been doing yard work today. Trying to get all done before we leave in a week. My Mom is coming to stay with my fur babies. She has a little miniture daushound, Lucy, that will be staying here with her too.

Deb-- A swather is what they use to cut the hay in the fields. It is sorta like a fancy tractor with the cutting blades attached to the front, as opposed to a tractor with a mower on the back. We live where there are alot of hay fields. I am planning on posting a pic of Brant soon. Hopefully I can get a good one Friday night, if not I will use one from last year. Glad that you are feeling better. My throat has been sore for the last two days, but I don't have any cold symtoms. Hope that none develope either!! If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!!

Monet-- Whoa, you really slept in today, ha-ha. I always weigh the least, as soon as I get up and use the potty. Give Laura a list of items that you need, and then send her shopping for you while you play the gamecube. LOL. If I got all duded up, my kids wouldn't claim me!! They are more into real working cowboys like my uncle, and less into duding up!! But as their Mom, I don't do any of it. I don't even own a pair of cowboy boots!!

Jack-k--Way to go girl, no chips and dips for this girl!! I use the SF yogurts for desserts all the time. They taste like dessert to me. Have a good time tonight, sounds like you are all prepared!!

Want--Hang in there, it will happen. This woe works!! Good for you, you didn't cave!! Sometimes I think it just takes our bodies awhile to adjust. When I first started SB, I didn't lose anything for the first month, and then I lost 4 pounds all at once. Then it was a few weeks again before losing. I have been doing this since the first of March, and only in the last few weeks have I lost every week. This week, I stayed the same again. Please just give yourself time. It will happen!

Amhlawyer-- Whooo hooo!! Great loss for the week!! It just takes awhile, but it will happen. WTG!!

Country-- Glad that your dd had a nice birthday. Having your own phone line is a wonderful gift. When we were younger, my sister and I opted for that instead of our allowances. Drink more water to help flush out the water!! Nope, no country duds for me. I will just wear my jeans and a T-shirt!!

Tal-- Yes, you can still lose inches without losing weight. Glad that the clothes are fitting better, Big Whoosh, for next week!!

Fillise-- Thank you for the tip. I will just delete most of them then. My Aunt from Utah came this morning and we dug up flower starts for her, and some baby fir trees. She is hoping to line her drive with them. Give Belle a hug, I agree, it is better to be safe, than sorry. With three big dogs, we are the vets best friend!! Glad that it wasn't too serious!!

Jenn-- Hang in there, I am sure all will be well. :crossed: Prayers coming your way!!

Pancho-- Whoa girl, slow down and take a breath, you are tiring me out!! Sounds like you have your eating for the trip under control. I too am preparing my to go bag, we are leaving on the 2nd. Hope you have a great time, and I think you will do fine. You have things well in control!!

Heart-- I hope that you will be feeling better soon. Strep is no fun!! The shot will deal with it alot faster than just being given a script. As for the RS candies, my dh will not even touch them. They give him severe gas, and act like a laxative on him. I eat only two, and sometimes get the gas, but have never had the other effect!! I think there is a warning on the package about the laxative effect!!

Well, I need to get off, and go get dh back brace washed. It is soaking in the sink for now. The wind is blowing so I want to get it hung up to dry!!

Ok, BOB- I assume that pic is of Carnie Wilson? You know, I'm proud of her that she lost so much weight. But GEEZ!! I'm sorry this is totally my opinion and I won't back down- where the heck are her morals? I find it disgusting and I'm sure God is saying "way to go, Carnie". It seems that as the years go by, people's values and morals get less and less. And no I'm not saying all of this because I'm jealous. Sure, I would love to look like that- but I wouldn't be posing nude and degrading myself. Believe it or not, before I had kids I had a pretty good bod- but it was clothed! Okay, I'm off my soapbox. BOB- none of this is directed at you in any way. Alright, now I can change the subject. I've done "okay" with my eating today but I know I didn't burn more calories than I consumed or probably even a fraction of that. I've just about been bedridden the past 3 days. The house is a wreck, it's an ordeal to tend to the kids. Basically I've been watching tv, on the computer, on the couch or in the bed. Here's what I've had-- breakfast was a yogurt and orange. Lunch was an open faced ham and cheese with mustard sandwich. Oh, and this morning I had 2 sf pecan delights which had 23 carbs- is 23 carbs 1, 1 1/2, or 2 starches? Anyway, I also had a blue bunny orange creme bar(17 g of carbs-nsa). And then for supper I had McDonald's Grilled chiken bacon ranch salad. That sounds like alot, but not really. But it's too many starches. And too much food for me to be just lying around. Guess I'll find out tomorrow if I'm right. JENN- I'm thinking of you and hoping you get a good report about your little peanut.

Dear All, I love reading all the posts--I'm so computer illiterate that I can't figure out how you remember who wrote what when you have to type your message in this box at the bottom. I should ask my son to help me--he's a comp genius. Almost 3 1/2 yrs. into his PhD in Cancer Biology at the Univ of Chicago. Then off to Harvard for his Post Doc and then hopefully home to Texas after that. I'm afraid he'll head for So Cal. because that is where his fiancee is from. Oh well, I love Cal. I'm learning a lot about what not to eat and what to eat just by reading your comments. I feel silly asking things that I'm sure you all know in your sleep. Just a little about me-Oldest daughter (Kimberley) an orthodontist in San Antonio, second child( John Mark) in PhD program at U of Chicago, 3rd child (Rebecca) a 2nd grade teacher in College Station and the youngest (Kurt) an attorney in Houston. Hard to believe but no grandkids. My husband is an orthodontist and we practice in Kingwood, Tx but live on Lake Conroe. We are together 24/7 and he thinks he has to eat 3 square meals a day and most of them are eating out!! I only have about 5-7 lbs to lose but it's hard and discouraging but inspires me and gives me faith to hang in there when I read everyones experiences. I love the Lord and will hold those up in prayer if they would like. I love reading the testimonies, praises, and requests on this board. I have NEVER done anything like this. It took me about a week to figure out how to get hooked up and afraid I'm going to do something wrong and get kicked off. He He. I'm just not sure what the proper etiquette is, so bear with me and "gently" correct me. I'll learn. I drank all my water as was suggested and gained a lb. I weigh every a.m. before coffee and vascillate between 115 and 117. Would love to get to 110. I'm only 5'1" and 5 lbs on me looks like 15. PS, I'm a new 53 as of 6/10 and really love me at this stage in my life. God has blessed me in very special ways. Does anyone think HRT has caused weight gain or taking Effexor XR caused weight gain. Just curious. Thanks for the help and answers.

You doing any regular exercise? Maybe that will speed up your loss? It looks like your looking to lose 20 pounds? It might seem like a lot to you but it's harder to lose the last 20 then say 60? Because the closer you get to your goal weight the less your body wants to give it up. Do you know what I mean?

Adrienne
Yahoo! That's really great! I too have found if I eat at like 5 or six I do better. I wonder if everyone who did Atkins had an adjustment period before seeing weight loss?

THE BIG ORANGE BABE
Bout Carnie. Those cannot be her real boobs! She was so overweight they couldn't possibly look that good without some surgery or major airbrushing. I don't want to sound like a catty little snot but I hate when they put pictures of woman in magazines who've either had lots of surgery or lots of airbrushing. It really screws up woman's perceptions of what they should look like. I think it's taking a major toll on younger girls.
You do post the most interesting things LOL

This is how I post: I open my e-mail program and start reading the board. When I find a post I want to reply to I copy the persons name, paste it into the e-mail then write what I want to say. I leave the e-mail open
Then I go back to the board and read some more. I keep doing this until I catch up, then I copy the e-mail go back to the board click on "post reply" and paste my stuff in there. I always do it this way because my e-mail had spell check and if I have to leave I can save the whole post as a draft until I have more time. If you rather you can use like Word or Word Perfect to do this also.

I think it's great all your kids have such interesting professions, maybe they are so happy at work they don't want to stop and have those grandbaby's for you? :)

Heartmom-- Not quite sure, but I think the SF Russell Stover's Pecan Delights would be classified as a fat, not a starchy carb. They are mostly fat, and nuts are proteins with fat. ( the good fats though) I maybe wrong here so someone please correct me if I am.

HA-ha-ha-ha. Who the heck is Carnie? I know that probably is funny to y'all, but I must be out of the loop. Is she on TV or something?

I read a really interesting article in USA Today this morning about the mediterranean diet, literally. It said that in Greece, the average person probably eats about 1 pound of veggies daily. And has olive oil, whole grains, and dairy. Then fish and poultry just several times a week. They had a sample breakfast, and it inspired me to fix a nice breakfast for myself:
plain yogurt topped with some berries and 1/3 of an orange.
Bed of spinach with sautéed onions on the side. Spinach topped with poached egg. 2 slices of tomato. It was really good.

Porche--I do the same as Cheryl, but I use my word processing program. I just open it up, and when I read something I want to reply to, jump to the word program and type my reply. When I finish reading and replying to everything, I copy what I wrote and then paste it into the reply box on the SB board. Simple! Sometimes SB makes my apostrophes into question marks, so I have to go back and change them all. :(

I actually walked again yesterday. Last Saturday I had a bad pain in my knee when I was walking down the hall of a hospital to visit a friend. It reminded me of the pain I had years ago when I finally had to have knee surgery. I have laid off walking and even working out for part of the week. I did work out yesterday, but cooled it on the leg extension. But last night my DH and I walked about 2 miles. It was nice.

Jenn, hope everything is OK with you.

Well ladies, today is the day. I go to gyno. Never really been so excited. Yesterday, I kinda got depressed just thinking of the stress of trying again. Silly me I was crying at work. I went and read some message boards about trying to conceive after a loss. I told my dh and he got mad. Told me I should not be reading that, cause it will bring down my faith. He told me something I already knew. So, I was put in place, and I am going to have faith. Anyway, as I am nut with the scale, its the same today. I have decided to go a step further and cut down by carbs a bit. I really missed my milk this morning. I am just trying this for a few, just to see. Anyway, 20 lbs is my first goal, which hopefully I will not make. Only reason I say hopefully, cause I wanted to loss it before I got Preggers, and now is the time, so the weight loss can wait. Although, I am going to totally follow sugar busters through pregnancy, I definitely found a way to maintain my weight, unintentional of course. My real goal after baby would be 125-130 which is my weight, or size 6 whatever comes first. Right now I am a 10 sometimes, I can squeez into an 8. I have butt and hip issues, and that's about it. My back is like a 30, my waist is like 25 and my butt, Oh My! is like 46, what's the deal here.

Cherlyco: I have been exercising daily doing 3 miles. I did not have a chance last night due to dh speaking on radio, but today is the day.

So, I will just lower my carbs and see and when I get pregnant, I will go back to sugar busters. My body is probably like what is going on? I will also talk to the doctor today about it.

Good Thursday morning all:

I thought I would check in before my day gets totally out of control. As you all know, we will be leaving tomorrow a.m. on vacation. I did get to the gym this morning (first time all week) and walked 30 minutes on the treadmill and then circuit training. It felt good to finally get there. I left at 5:15 while my husband was home with the girls. I weighed in at 128 this morning; that's the lowest it has been in years. I tried on a pair of Levi jeans I haven't worn in over 6 years (before kids), and they zipped all the way up and buttoned. They really weren't even too tight. I was sooooooo excited. My husband's response, "oh, that's great (not to much enthusiasm)." When you don't have to lose weight you truly don't know how much work and dedication it is. He's never had to worry about his weight; he's in great shape! Thank God I have my mom to talk to.

Monet: We are going to Las Vegas for a few days to meet my mom, dad, niece and aunt, and then from there we are going to Iowa (quad cities). My husband and all the brothers, uncles, dad are all going to Chicago for a Cubs/Cardinals game on Sunday, July 6th. My husband is pumped for that. Have fun on your vacation!

Fillise: Hope Miss Belle is better soon. They cost a fortune, but are worth it in my eyes.

Debelli: Hope your day is better (but that wouldn't take too much, huh?)....ha ha.

heart: Hope your throat is better soon. Yes, the RS candies can definately have a laxative effect. The maltitol (sugar alcohol) is what they put in laxatives, apparently. You have to really eat them in moderation. Get better!

BOB: I haven't looked at Carnie yet, since my 5-year old keeps coming into the room.

Teensy: Thanks for the well-wishes for staying on plan while away. I wish all the same for you, but mostly, just have fun.

I might check in later if I have a minute, but if not....I will be back in a few weeks. Good luck to you all!

Happy Thursday.

The board is a little slow today. Me, I'm in some kind of funk. Don't know why. It will pass.

Just came back from lunch with a high school friend. Taco bell, had the taco salad, no shell.

Susan, Hope the infection is Miss Belle's only problem and it clears up quickly.

Heartmom, oohh! strep. That can be painful. Get some rest and take your meds. Hope you feel better soon. Yes that RS candy can do it, especially if you have had splenda or something else like that along with it.

Bob, who is she? Someone I should know? BTW, do you fly into Tampa or Sarasota?

Teensy, staying the same is ok sometimes. Good attitude.

Lady, your Ds does sound like a genious. What a worthy career. All your children pretty smart to me. Please ask any questions you may have, someone will help you out.

Gator, I didn't know who Carnie was either. I guess I live in a cave. WTG on getting your exercise in.

Oldme, good luck at the Dr's. You are smart to follow Sb when you get preg. It is very safe, in fact my gyno told me he just read the book and is going to do it.

Pancho, WTG on getting in those old jeans. What a great feeling that is. Have fun on your trip.

Deb, hope you are feeling better today and Eli is still alive.

Kim, where are you. Sending out an APB for you.

Have a great day.

We have a beautiful little peanut!!!

I got a couple of great pictures, and heard and saw the heartbeat. The poor tech held my hand because I was crying because I was so happy :o and DH couldn't get off work on such short notice to be there with me.

All in all, what a wonderful experience! I am still in shock - in a good way, of course. :D

Humidity is back!!!!!

Just got back from lunch--grilled chicken salad. It was huge--I think I got all five servings of veggies in--and I didn't even finish it.

JenninMN!---Awwww, I'm so happy for you! I think no matter what his/her name we will all be calling the baby "Peanut!" Are you going to find out whether it is a boy or girl or do you want to be surprised? I know your mind is more at ease now, so enjoy it while you can--you'll be worrying about that kid for the rest of your life now! Thanks for letting us know!

Jackie--thanks for your good wished for Belle. I hope this infection is her only problem too. It can be just that--or a sign or more omnious things. Since she doesn't act like she feels bad (other than the spurts when it looks like she ate an alka-seltzer), I'm thinking it is just the infection. She has Siamese in her and that breed is prone to this type of problem. Hope you get out of your funk soon!

Pancho--WTG on thje jeans--that's a great feeling! Yes the fure babies can be expensive, but she's got me hook, line, sinker, and checkbook!

Wanttheoldme--Good luck with your gyno appointment today! Will be sending good thoughts your way. I think this WOE ought to be great for pregnancy--and then once the baby is born, you'll have the ticket to lose the baby weight, plus what you wanted to lose.

Gator--Carnie is Carnie Wilson. She is a singer (her dad was one of the Beach Boys) who was always very large. A couple of years ago she went through (very publically) gastric bypass and lost all the weight. I imagine she wants to show off her new bod, although when I lose all my weight (Note the when--not if), I think I'll find some better ways to celebrate!

ladyporche--I usually open notepad and type replies into that and then cut and paste the text onto the reply box. It's a lot faster--especially if you are replying to a lot of people. Don't worry about asking questions, that's what the board is here for!

Cherlyco--good to hear from you today!

heartmom--I have the same probelm with SF chocolates---they (and everything else in my system) go right through me! I do better with the 70% dark chocolate. I keep a small bar in my purse for emergencies--the current bar has been there since Easter.

Teensy--I bet you do spend a lot of time with the vet! Sounds like you have a lot to do with your Aunt. Have fun! Belle got a big hug from you!

BOB--LOVED the definitions of *****! So AU and UT are playing in Auburn on October 4th--if I can get my hands on some tickets--wanna come?

OK--back to work. I'm getting a manicure this afternoon as a reward for getting through VBS! MMmmmmm.

Great news Jenn!!

Cherylco- I think they are her own boobs BUT- they have been enhanced. She stated herself in an article I read last year that she planned on having plastic surgery since she lost so much weight and her skin hanged in spots. Besides, I've only lost 80 pounds and the loss took a toll on my boobs(more than having kids). So there's no way she lost ALL that weight and her boobs are that perky.

Well, I'm feeling a little bit better today. Just a bit. I cleaned my kitchen and it wore me out. Hopped on the scale and it was actually down to 190- yes 190! I don't think my body ever got the chance to absorb the fat and carbs from the RS candy, lol. At least I know to stay away from them. The doc said I should feel a whole lot better tomorrow. I hope so. And I hope my appetite doesn't come on strong. Maybe since I've been "good" all week, it'll help with the cravings. I plan on being good this weekend and not giving in to temptation. Screw what other people are eating, I'm doing this for myself. Okay, I'm sweating and I know it's not hot in here. Guess that crap is slowly leaving my system. Can't you just tell I absolutely HATE being sick? DEB- how's your cold is it any better? Well, my stomach is growling so I'm fixing to make lunch for me and the kids- probably sandwiches.

Hi -

I'm currently on Atkins (3 1/2 weeks) and have lost about 13 pounds. But I want to lose about 140 -- so I know I'm going to be doing this for a while. I don't know if I can continue for as long as I'm going to need to on the Atkins WOE. I'm already so tired of meat, cheese & eggs. I have salads and a few veggies -- but I'm still working on the induction phase and am trying not to add too many carbs back in yet.

However, I'm considering switching to SB because there are more options. I want to stick to the same basic plan -- no sugar, refined flour, and low carbs. But I really want to be able to add some fruit, beans and some whole wheat cereal from time to time. So I'm thinking Sugar Busters may be a better option. But I'm scared to death to switch now because I'm afraid I'll start gaining weight back, and I don't want to lose my momentum. And I'm far enough along on Atkins that my body has adjusted and I'm not experiencing a lot of cravings anymore -- I'm just getting a little sick of eating only meats, eggs and cheese dishes.

So - I guess I'm just interested to know if anyone here ever switched from Atkins, and did it cause you to slow down your weight loss in a major way? And do you have cravings again on SB? I know you have to watch your portion sizes a little more than you have to on Atkins.

I'm just trying to weigh everything before I make the decision to switch -- even though I'm really wanting to have a little more freedom in food selection, and I think i could have that with SB.

I'd appreciate any input -- and would love to know your weight loss and how long it's taking on SB.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Just a quickie.

Heading home. Won't get to walk when I get home. We have to go to the funeral home, a friend's DM died. So will have dinner and then go there and hopefully when we get home, we can take a walk. It will be cooler then too.

Jenn, Congratulations a 100 time over. I know you are excited. Now take good care ofyourself and your little peanut.

Susan, I bet that acandy bar has purase fuzz onit by now. Good for you though resisting it.Thanks for the info on Carnie. I remember hearing about her now. Enjoy that manicure. What color?

Heartmom, glad you are feeling some better. Hold on to that strong resolve for the weekend. You can do it. I have faith in you.

Freelancer, I never did Atkins (too restrictive) but many on here have and have done well in the switch. With having 140 to loose, SB will work just fine for you. Something you can dor for the long haul.

Have a great evening.

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!!

I'm getting just the comments that I wanted on the picture of Carnie...She said herself that while she was more than happy to help people find the right Dr to do the Stomach Stapling and get them on their way, she is tired of being the poster child for weight loss surgery! She HAS had a boob job, all the hanging skin has been removed, etc...she's proud, but I really don't think that Playboy was the way to go!!!!

SUSAN.....YES YES YES !!!!! GO BIG ORANGE!!!!! DOES THAT ANSWER YOUR QUESTION?????? I sure hope that MS BELLE is feeling better..I've had her on my mind and have very good thoughts for her at this time!

LAURIE...Glad you're feeling a little better...

JACKIE...there's a direct flight from L'vill to Tampa on SOUTHWEST, if you're renting a car, we're only about 45 min from the airport and I can give you simple directions...that can either bring you over the SUNSHINE SKYWAY or down the interstate...or BOTH!!!! I also fly into Sarasota, but you would have to take either USAIR thru Charlotte or DELTA thru ATLANTA...

Went for the nerve condusive testing today and the Neurologist has confirmed C-6 & 7 damage...I still have to have the myelogram (next thursday) and then I guess the decesion will be made for treatment then.

Gotta go...see y'all later!

Hi All:wave:

Wanted to get on here this morning before I left the house, but it didn't happen. I had to take a shower and get ready to take LAUREN to camp and I was gone from then on and just got home around 5pm after being out all day long, and frankley, I'M POOPED!!!!:faint:

I had some errands to run and stops to make before I headed off to the hospital to spring my MOM out of there! Took her home and stayed there for a while, then had to drop my DAD over at Walgreens to drop off her prescriptions, go drop off some checks for them, etc., etc. I was on the go all day and I'm just about ready to climb in to bed for the night.

Was feeling quite a bit better for most of the day, just started to feel a small backsliding a bit ago, probably from overdoing it, but I'll be fine with some rest. Hoping to go to yoga tomorrow, my teacher called wondering what was going on and to tell me the class asked about me on Monday, which was nice:) Still don't have much of an appetite though I'm making myself eat because I know I have to, and I really can't taste much of anything-THIS part of being sick I just don't mind at all;) What I seem to be craving is fruit when I do eat, and I've been OD'ing on mangos, and other juicy fruits, not good GI, but better than alternatives.

I don't have time to reply to all the posts since I posted yesterday at the moment, though I do hope to get some in tomorrow morning. LAUREN needs the computer and she rarely gets on these days, so I'm going to go eat a pot pie and let her do some work on here.

I did not get a chance to get online before now. I got home from work, and was exhausted. I had some lunch, and then got on the gamecube and played for a while. Then I got in the pool and fell asleep on Laura's new raft. It was heaven. I hope I did not get too much sun!

Tomorrow is another work day, but thankfully, its PAYDAY! This week the check ought to be nicer than last weeks, when I only had one day of work due to my toe problem.

I am still trying to plan some stuff for vacation and not doing a very good job of it. I have not made the first reservation, and I have not been able to get a response from the surfing school I am trying to contact. I confess I am not good with details....so this has been a stretching assignment for me. I look at the prices of hotel rooms and cringe! I would be happy to stay home and spend all that money some other way!

Tomorrow, I am going to my massage therapist for a long overdo massage. I ache all over, and I know it is from my lupus flaring. I am hoping the massage will help. In the meantime, I am popping ibuprofens like candy for the pain.

JENN: I am so glad you were able to hear the heartbeat today! I hope you are feeling good, and getting plenty of rest!

Ok, I am too tired to think..so I am going to sign off! Please forgive me for not getting replies done!

Good evening Sugar Buster's!! I am so excited today. I went to town this morning to pick up some T-shirts for DH, and a couple pair of pants for myself. I haven't bought any new pants since last September when I hit my stall. I thought I would get some 14's since the ones I had on where 16's. THEY WERE TOO BIG!!! I bought 12's!! I couldn't even get a 28W on when I first started this two years ago!! I had to lose 15 pounds before I could wear them. (Jeans, and not the stretch ones!!) I still can't believe it. I told dh, when I could wear a size 12, I would start feeling better about myself, and not be such a fanatic, but now I know that the size 10 will be even better!! I may have to dude it up for the Rodeo after all, ha ha!!

Sorry for the ramble....

Ladyporsche-- Just post away-- we are pretty informal here. Sounds like you have a lovely family, and you are fortunate to live on a lake. Since you only have a few pounds to lose, it may take just a bit longer than if you had say, 60 pounds to lose. For some strange reason the more you have to lose the faster it seems to go. The last few are the hardest. WELCOME, and I hope you will come to love this WOE as much as the rest of us do.

Gator-- I am with you, I have no idea who Carnie is??

Want-- Good luck today. I hope you get the answer that you are seeking now. I would kill to be a size 10 right now, but I am closer than I ever thought I would be.

Pancho-- Have a super time. Men!! My dh is very supportive, but the truly great moments seem to be lost on him too!! Like my size 12 finally!! WTG!!

Jack-k-- Hope that you can pull yourself up out of this slump. Hang in there! (((Hugs)))

Jenn-- I am so happy for you!! Cry all you want, but now you can relax alittle!! Congrats on the little Peanut!!

Fillise-- Enjoy your manicure. Sounds divine!!

Heartmom-- Glad you are feeling better today. Dh said to tell you to stay away from the RS----"they are evil." He won't touch one anymore!!

Freelancer-- I am a Protein Power convert. I lost 81 pounds on PP, and then stopped losing. After six months of staying the same, I talked to Monet, and she convinced me to give it a try. I have lost 13 pounds since March 1st. It was scary at first, adding all those carbs, but I tell you, this is a wonderful WOE!! You do have to watch your fat intake once you start increasing your carbs. But even Atkin's For Life stresses that. Since you are not having the sugar cravings, now might be the time to give it a try. I told myself I was going to give it two months. I didn't lose anything for 3 to 4 weeks, but once I started I am continuing to lose at the rate of 1 to 2 pounds a week right now. Four more to go to reach the 100 pound mark! Good Luck, and hope to see you around!!

Deb-- GET SOME SLEEP!!

Monet-- Go to bed, and get some rest. Enjoy the massage tomorrow!!

Sweet dreams and will see all of you tomorrow!

Yahoo for you! I know how you feel. I had to get some new Capri's because mine from last summer are to big (yah!) And the one I wanted only had a 14 left so I tried it on and it fit! This was in the regular section not woman's. It certainly made my day.

I didn't even bother trying Atkins because I am not a big meat eater. From what I've seen from other posters, Atkins is great to get you started and get rid of cravings but for the long haul it really difficult and frankly doesn't seem healthy. I drink the Atkins shakes when I'm in a hurry and hungry, and I've been keeping my bread carbs to only breakfast but I don't limit my legal veggies or fruit. And we just eat normal portions of food. I've been doing SB for a year and have no problems living this way. I think that's the key to healthy long term weight loss, finding a good plan you can live with.

Jenn Congratulations! :bb:

Happy Friday.

I just love when this day rolls around.

Surprisingly, we got in our walk last night. It started raining as soon as I got home and rained until 9:00. I was already on the couch half asleep and DH made me get up and head out. Glad he did.

Have to leave to go to our other company which is closing or downsizing or something. We are renting out their office space and we have to clean it out. 30 years of "stuff". Not looking forward to it. So I probably won't be back on today and my computer won't turn on at home so won't be back until Monday.

All you computer people out there, any ideas what could be wrong. Seems like we had this problem before and it is something simple.

BOB, thanks for the info on the flights. I think we will fly into Tampa. Still waiting to here if the trip is even a go yet. Glad you got some answers on your pain. Not good ones though. Hope there is some treatment other than surgery that will help.

Deb, glad to hear your mom is free. Hope is recovers quickly. Glad you are feeling better.

Fruit, cute float. I know you will be in LSU heaven.

Monet, I'm surprised the massages help your Lupus. With Ra, sometimes the added pressure really hurts. Never had a full massage, but just the leg massages they do with pedicures, hurt my legs. Me, I'd rather go on vacation any time then stay home. Wasting money or not. Life is too short.

Teensy, tht is so wonderful about the size 12's. I know you must be on cloud nine. You have accomplished a great deal. You should be very proud of yurself and like yourself a lot. You will be at the 100 pl mark soon. Congrats.

Heartmom, stay OP this weekend. Remember we said we both were going to do it.

Kim, I'm gonna have to come to Cinncy to look for you soon if you don't post.

You all have a great weekend. Stay OP. I'm going to do my darnest to do it.

Hi all! I just love Fridays!!!. Well my appointment with gyno went well yesterday, besides the fact that they got me mixed up with another Tonya and had me sitting in the wrong room waiting for the wrong doctor, it was all good. My heart cringed though when I saw another man walk in, I was probably so rude not even listening to him, I was like where's my doctor???!!! Besides that the doctor gave me the green light to go. and explained that we have to start today! Also he will want to put me on hormones as soon as I get pregnant. I think that is what he called them.

Besides all that, I think this cutting down my carbs will work. I am cutting it down like I did in Atkins. I have already lost .5 since yesterday. Perhaps this can get me over my slump. However, the moment I find out I am pregnant I am going back for the healthy reasons, milk & fruit, etc.

You know I do most of my posting at work, and since yesterday I have gotten so many pop ups, its annoying. I have no idea what to do. We have DSL here and half the time I don't even have the browser up. In fact yesterday evening and today, I have been getting really bad porn pop ups. Nothing like I little trash to start my day. I am not sure what to do???? :?: I really would like to tell my manager, but I don't want to rat if its my boss, cause he uses my computer when I am gone. I cleaned out the memory, but that did not work. Oh well, I will play detective and get to the bottom of this.

Anyways ladies, I am doing fairly well. Even without my toast this morning!

Needless to say I have definitely found a way to maintain my weight by sugar busters.

Chat with you later.

Morning All:wave:

Going to jump right on in and get in some quick replies...

MONET, of COURSE ELI knew what hit him - it was me!!! We went over to Starbucks the other day and the Mgr there (not ELI'S store) she knows when I'm peeved at him and I told her to take a swat at the upside of his head, and showed her how, and she did! So not only did he know who hit him, he knew twice!!! I was willing to let anyone give it a shot (to the head, that is!) :)

JENN, thank goodness you didn't have any trouble with the twister, I heard about the areas that did, it's so scarey! That's wonderful news that the ultra sound showed good news! CONGRATS! Here's my little bit of advice (early on)...make a tape of you and your hubby singing, stuff like ABC'S, read books, stuff like that and put the headphones on your belly when you get about 5-6 months along. I did it with MICHAEL (not so much with LAUREN, didn' have time) and he said his first word at 7 1/2 months old. I really think it helps! Sure can't hurt! He loved it when I'd do it, my stomach would go crazy with him moving!

JACKK, LOL! ELI, he can know when to keep his mouth shut and agree with me, but sometimes, his better judgement doesn't show and he doesn't do as he should! Typical man! Hope you broke out of that funk.

FILLISE, I hope Belle is doing better. That must of been a shocker to know she had those things in her mouth. What causes that? Thanks, I took your advice and let ELI have it, hmmmm:chin: I should of told him it was YOUR idea to smack him upside the head:s:

HEART, heck, I have no right complaining about being sick when I read all the crud you have right now! Girl, I hope you get better and I pray the kids don't get it! That's definitely NOT something you need! I hope you are feeling better. As for the RS candies, I don't eat them, BUT, that is one of the effects you can have with eating them. Some people's stomachs are more sensitive than others and it may only take a bite to set you off. Why eat them anyhow? You can have real chocolate if you are so wanting some-why that stuff?

BOB, there's NO WAY in the world those are her natural boobs! Those of us who have been heavy a long time, like her KNOW that those babies hang. I'd say IMPLANTS & AIRBRUSH! I don't believe those are her natural boobs:nono:

TEENSY, have a good time tonight and GOOD LUCK TO BRANDT! Get a good pic, one of the two of you would be nice too;) CONGRATS on the new pants - that must make you feel great!:D

LADY, it was so nice learning more about you and your family. Sounds like your kids are not only very smart, but have found wonderful careers, I'm sure you're proud! My son wants me to take him to look at Harvard in August. I'm trying to convince him to go to a state college to take his undergraduate courses first-he wants his DM to live in a cardboard box - Harvard doesn't give full scholarships, or it's rare that they do. I have to say, you may not get to your desired weight. You really weigh a good weight for someone of your height. Age plays a factors as well, as does bone frame. I'm only a half inch taller than you and the lowest for my height is something like 118. Be happy with eating right, if the weight loss comes, that's an added bonus. You may lose the weight, but a pound may take you a couple months to lose with being so tiny in the first place. Don't worry about asking questions, we're all more than happy to help.

OLDME, I think everything happens for a reason and if it's meant to be, it's meant to be. I can tell you on a personal level I had so many miscarriages, honestly, I can't remember how many, came to a point I stopped counting. I was on clomid and pergonal, got preg. lost them-finally, when I stopped trying, whomp, got preg. with MICHAEL, 17 months after he was born LAUREN showed up. When it rained, it poured! Never give up the faith!!! Have you tried POPUPSTOPPER to help stopping those from coming up?

FREELANCER, http://members.aol.com/eldemila/sb_sign3.jpg. There are a few of the gals on the board have made the switch. You MAY gain a little weight if you add the carbs back in, esp. if you do it too quickly. But, if you do, that weight will come right back off as your body adjusts. Others can give you more info than I can as I can't speak from experience on this. The cravings, nothing you wouldn't have, like Atkins.

FRUIT, cool float!

MONET, did you see my post to you about MARCO being close to MIAMI? Want to come visit? When are you coming down to the Sunshine State? Enjoy the massage!!

To everyone else I say HELLO!!!

I'm going to attempt to go to yoga today. MICHAEL is sitting her waiting for the computer, as usual, so I'm going to go. Will check in later.

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!!

Good evening ya'll! I figure Friday was a good day to share a full body shot...ugh. I hate them. But my hubby was sweet enough to take it for me. It's very recent. From yesterday. He told me I should do a before and after. I don't have one from my biggest but this one is close enough.

Jack-K...now it's your turn. :)

Country, you've lost a whole person- looking good!

Jackie- Friday is over and I've been legal. Only 2 more days to go now. Actually, I don't think it will be that hard for me since I'm still not feeling myself.

Teensy and Deb- don't worry about me touching SF chocolate again!! Btw, Teensy, a size 12! Way to go! I noticed you're starting weight was the same as mine(270). Right now I weigh 190 and wear a misses 16. I can't wait until I can get into a 12.

I feel somewhat better today, but still don't have any energy and now my ears are hurting! I'm sick of being sick!! At least I am on the mend. Gotta go guys...

Hi All,

CountryMom4Him--You look awesome!! If anyone says this is just a great WOE and not a weight loss program, they can just look at you and change their mind!! I'll have to look back and see where you started and when--man you look great!!! Is this your daughter? Where in Texas do you live?

I found the greatest "stuff" at Sams yesterday. SeaPak garlic and herb marinated & grilled shrimp. I never would have purchased this except they were giving out free samples. Oh my gosh they are awesome!!! Not as good in the microwave, better warmed in your skillet or on the grill outside. 14 shrimp have only 120 cal, 0 sugar and 0 carb after you subtract the dietary fiber (still hanging on to the old Atkins readings)

And then!!! Blue Bunny Ice Cream Lites!!!! I love these. Hard to find but much much better than the fudge bars (they have a funny taste) These taste great (I ate 3 on the way home) I have been craving these for a week and just found them so that's why I cratered and ate 3 on the way home--just glad I didn't live any farther!!) I need help though with the sugars 2g, and sugar alcohol 4 g. I'm sure these are terrible for me but if I could just have 1 right before I go to bed I can stay away from a huge bowl of cereal or other stuff that just packs on the weight the next a.m.

Deb--my husband and I are great believers in state supported universities!! We have great schools in Texas--both of our boys did their undergrad work at the Univ of Tx in Austin--the baby went to U of Tx Law School and the other one did an internship at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas for 2 yrs after his undergrad working on the Human Genome Project. Then was accepted to U of Chicago for his PhD in Cancer Biology. They not only pick up all tuition costs which is outrageous if you have to pay for it out of pocket, but they also pay him a stipend of about $23,000 each yr just to go to school there. His post doc at Harvard will be a faculty position so they pay for everything there. This was truly an answer to prayer because even though we make a good living, there is no way we could have made this happen if it had to be out of pocket. Good luck and keep me posted on the decisions you make. It just seems like yesterday we were typing applications and watching the mail. What an incredibly exciting time for your family!!!!

Thank you Heartmom and ladyporsche. Ladyprsche...I just live about 25 minutes from you. I'm in Evergreen. My mom lives in Willis so I visit there often.

Deb.....hope you are feeling much better this weekend.

I'm being lazy so I will probably get to sneak on here off and on all day. Hubby is working and it's still too wet to mow...at least I think so. If I don't mow this weekend I might not get a chance till the middle of next week. They are calling for more rain. The grass loves it but man oh man the heat.

I hope everyone is having a super day! And watching those weekend cheats.....don't let em sneak up on ya...and watch my back too... :)

Be blessed and encouraged! You are GREAT!

MORNING BUSTERS!!!!!

Not too much computer time this weekend...all the old timers know the answer to this.....WHO IS THE INSPECTOR GENERAL???
for all you who don't,.....it's my DSIL!!! AND SHE'S COMING WEDNESDAY  .....My DB and SIL are coming to their place in Naples for some R&R, and are coming to spend the day with Kate and then we will go over to my Nephew's for dinner...These are two people that I dearly love, but they DON'T HAVE TO CLEAN THEIR OWN HOUSE!!!! They have someone who does it...ME on the other hand....well, you all know that I've been down for the count since April and while I keep everything picked up and straightened, a general house cleaning has not been important around here...it's hard to swing a mop when I have all this pain.
I guess I'll just have to double up on the pain meds and get to work!

HERE'S THE MOVIE PICKS FOR THE WEEKEND:

LIZA
THE HOURS
PUNCH DRUNK LOVE
INNOCENCE
FEDERAL PROTECTION

I watched PUNCH DRUNK LOVE AND THE HOURS last night....the first SUCK, and I went to sleep on the HOURS...I'll give that another try.

I'll let y'all know about the other picks...

COUNTRY....HOOCHIE MAMA!!!! You're looking GREAT!!!! KEEP IT UP!!!!

LAURIE...hope you're feeling better...get some rest.!

I've got to go...HELLOOOOOOOO TO EVERYONE ELSE!!!!

Hi Everyone!

Its getting on towards noon, and I am still in my nightgown. I did get up at about 8, eat breakfast and get on the gamecube. I am having so much fun with that game...but it is so addicting! I finally forced myself off, and on to the weekend chores of laundry and some shopping at Costco. I find the mornings are a good time to get on the gamecube, as Laura sleeps late, like most teenagers.

Had my massage yesterday, and it was wonderful. I am trying to keep up on the water, as this helps to keep you from being sore. I was pretty tired and sore from working, then doing my volunteer stint at the church office. Stapling stuff over 500 times can do a number on the old arm muscles! I do enjoy it though.
I was late for my massage, but my friend was gracious and kind about it. Afterwards, I was able to sit and visit with her and her two teenage daughters who are friends with Laura. I do love spending time chatting with the teens....

We splurged and bought the new Harry Potter book yesterday. Laura is hiding it from her father, who hide the fourth book from her when he got it, so he could read it first. She is getting her revenge. I can't wait to get my hands on it as well. Such engaging stories....

JACK: The massage helps my lupus a lot. If the therapist is hurting you, you need to tell them to lighten up. My MT (massage therapist) always asks me if the pressure is right, etc. If it is uncomfortable, she lightens up. She is very good, and used to teach at the School of Massage in Atlanta. I went there with a headache and a bad back ache, and left with neither! :) I am sure tho, it just depends on what kind of problems you have. I think my muscles get cramped from my trying to avoid joint movement that hurts. Then the massage is helpful. Lupus is a lot different from RA, though.

DEB: We might be up for a visit to Miami. I have gotten zip, zero response from the surfing school I have been trying to reach for over a week, which leads me to believe they don't NEED my business due to being booked.... so, it is back to the drawing board as to what we are going to do. I think Tom still wants to hit Naples and maybe Marco Island, but as soon as we know, I will either email you, or call. We are looking at some time between July 7 and 17, just so you know.

BOB: How do things look for you for sometime between July 7 and 17? I am just trying to get some idea, so we can get this vacation planned...the surfing idea seems to have panned out due to lack of response from the place we were trying to line up lessons with.....

COUNTRY: Great before and afters! You look awesome and I know you are proud, as you should be! Thanks for posting them!

PORSCHE: Hey, I am with you on the Blue Bunny ice cream stuff! I think I could eat a whole box in one sitting! Delicious! I keep them in the big freezer in the garage, so it is a pain to go and get one. It helps to keep me from eating them all day long! ;)

WANT: Can you install a pop up killer? There are plenty of free ones available. I use one, and it helps a lot. I can relate to your feelings about a strange doctor. I love mine, and if they try and send in his physician's assistant, I balk. I just can't stand her! She always starts in on my weight, and never reads my chart! If she did, she would know that he has been trying to get my metabolism fixed for over three years! Since I complained to him, I have not be subjected to her 'care' for a while! Thankfully! Good luck with your treatments! ;)

TEENSY: Woo Hoo! Size 12's! That is wonderful! You will make those 10's in no time! I am so excited for you! I hope my turn will eventually come for something smaller!

Just got off the phone with Deb. She is such a treasure. I'm hoping Robert gets home early enough I can call someone on the phone tree with the cell phone. I just got through eating a whole bowl of turnip greens with pico on top. I was sitting her reading emails and typing. Before I knew it the whole bowl was gone. The bag said it was five serving...I dissagree..it made one nice serving. :)

You made me smile Bob...I haven't heard Hoochie Moma in a while. Enjoy your movies and your weekend before your company comes.

Monet....I would kill to still be in my nightgown. That's my kinda restfull Sat. The kids woke me at the crack of dawn...I was the grouchy moma and made them all lay down for about a half an hour while I slept with one eye open.

Onmyweight thank you. I've lost app. 90 pounds. I've had three sets of scales along the way and they never all weight the same. I lost the first 80 pounds in a bout 8 months and the last ten have been over the last 18 months or so. Once I lost the 80 I got lazy and once again this year when I lost about 5 more I got lazy again. It's time to get back on track and stay there but I'm really struggling this summer with mom's surgery and other stressful things. I tend to be an emotional eater at times. That's when I run head first into the chips.

Hey All:wave:

Wow, boards slow -where are you all:?:

Went to some garage sales, not many today and it started to rain later morning. Picked up a few things, nothing exciting really. Hit the HFS on the way home, they had the MARANTHA ALMOND BUTTER on sale from $8.39 (pricey crap ain't it!) to $4.99 a jar - lucky me had $3.00 off coupons! That's a bargain! Picked up some more pot pies :)

Not much going on here this weekend so will jump right in to replies...

BOB, cute joke! Are things a bit dried in Sarasota now? Thought you'd be swimming with the gators at some point! As for the inspectors - screw them, if they don't like it, what are they going to do? You have NO idea how many movies I have on hold at the library! They are getting in so many! I'm waiting for a slew of new releases. I don't think I'll ever rent a movie from a store again! LMK what you think about PDL, want to see it if it's good.

COUNTRY, again, LOVED the pictures and so glad you posted them:D Glad I caught you in today and had a chance to talk to you, it's always a pleasure:D I forgot to ask you, how long ago was the before picture taken and is that BRITT with you?

HEART, hoping you are doing even better today, here's hoping we're both over this crap. As for the SF chocolate, def. stay away. I have to tell you, I tried one of the SF turtles awhile back and actually spit it out, I thought it tasted so nasty!!! Have you tried the Hershey's SF stuff? Just wondering:?:

LADY, if you and COUNTRY can meet up one day that would be great! There's nothing like meeting another gal from the board - it's always a wonderful experience! I was JUST speaking to COUNTRY about how people eat more than one of the SF ice creams on the phone this morning - be careful, 1 should be the limit. It's so easy to over-indulge in those things. MICHAEL has not only a pre-paid 4 year scholarship to a state university, BUT, he has another one he can use instead so I can transfer the prepaid to LAUREN, but he doesn't want to go to a state university, go figure. Rather me live in a cardboard box so he can go somewhere else. I'm not giving up hope though. He wants to look at Harvard, NYU, Johns Hopkins and one other. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. What do people do if they can't afford to go look at all these colleges?

MONET, a massage, gosh, I'd love a foot message! Okay, here's what I have around that time, which is actually around the block...won't be around to do anything on the 11th, ELI has a thing with SB's which I won't be going with him to (picnic type thing) cause LAUREN has her production of CHICAGO that night, so will be busy with her and that. The next morning, and I do mean morning, we are driving up to Orlando and won't be home til late Sunday night. LMK when you more pinpoint your time to be in Marco/Naples, if we can put it together, would love to see you! You are always welcome to stay with us if you'd like and see the sights(?) in Miami! BUT, if so, you MUST give me enough notice to clean the pig sty!!;)

JACKK, missed you again!!!!!

Will check in later with you all. Have a good weekend!

Wow..that was a super bargin! The picture of me and britt was from about three years ago. The newer picture was from two days ago. I'm going to attach one of the newest ones of my baby from a wedding she was in a couple of weeks ago. It's hard to believe she is 16 already...agh...LOL She will be driving any day now. It's just a matter of getting her to the place. She has passed all her home school driving courses required by Texas. And she really is a good driver. :)

Yesterday I was in Hudson's and this girl came up to me and asked me if I was a "Garrett" and I said yes, why? She then said OMG, you've lost so much weight - you're so beautiful. I told her thank you. Come to find out, she was a bank teller at our old bank from a year or so ago. Well, it seems that comment should have made my day, huh? Then last week, we went to Bessemer to the flea markets. This teenage guy was referring to this chick as being "fine" and too bad she had 2 kids. I realized he was talking about me! I haven't been referred to as fine since I probably was his age. And then also, about 2 weeks ago- my hubby's friend came up to me and said that his girlfriend had talked about me all day(after seeing me for the 1st time in 3 years). I was like- was it bad? He laughed and said no, she kept going on about how pretty you are,etc.. This all sounds great and seems that I should be floating on cloud 9, but the truth is I don't believe it. Is it really true that you can see yourself differently than what others perceive you? I guess my self esteem is just low. Just wanted to know if anyone had similar experiences.

Hello everyone. Debbie and Big Orange, this is Anna who use to go by Beachfan. Well I'm back and trying to lose some of the weight I have gained back. Some of you might remember me. Debbie and I basically hit goal about the same time. She's done much better than me though because I've gained back about 65 of the 90 pounds I had lost. I've been back on track now for about 3 weeks and have lost 10 pounds. So I started SB at 222, lost 90 pounds, gained 65 and am now at 182.

Some of you may ask how I gained all of this back. Well I let emotions and stress get the better of me. I'm better now and back on track. I have always had a weight problem since I was very small and easily lose weight. The only problem is I have never been able to maintain. This time I hope to. Let's see...what were my downfalls? I stopped journaling, keeping track of what I was eating and became lazy with the excercise.

The really good news is I seem to have my head back on. I also quit talking to this board. I guess after doing so well I just was ashamed I couldn't keep it up. I've missed everyone and need the support.

I realize I am a day late for Friday funnies, but I just got this in email, and since I have not seen it before, and found it amusing, I thought I would share....

Very lazy day for us today!! Was up late last night, with the rodeo and all. My best friend and her husband spent the night here. They live about 45 miles away, and it was late when we got home. I sure hope I didn't sabotage myself, I had 4 glasses of red wine, and I usually only have one. I didn't eat any dessert though, only a bowl of stew, so I hope I will be okay.

The rodeo was good, but Brant got bucked off his bull about 2 seconds too early. It ended up with just about my whole family there to watch him. He has another one today, so I hope he does better!!

Cherylco-- Thanks for the pat on the back. It sure is nice that everyone here is SO supportive. WTG on the size 14!! Isn't it wonderful to see those smaller sizes??

Jack-k-- Are you sure you are plugged in?? I know absolutely the minimum when it comes to computers, sorrry I can't be of any help!! Thanks for the WTG!!

Want-- Congrats!! Glad that eveything went the way you were hoping! So get started!! lol.

Deb--Thanks for well wishes, sorry to say Brant was a couple of seconds too early. He would have taken first if he had hung on those last 2 seconds!! Maybe next time. I will get busy and find a good pic to post. No matter the outcome his "Mama" is proud of him!! So was the rest of his family. 5 out of 6 of my Dad's siblings and their spouses were there to cheer him on!! He had his own cheering section!

Country--WOW, you look Marvelous!! You have lost a lot of weight, and I think you look wonderful!! WTG!! You have a very beautiful daughter.

Heart-- I am sure you will be there in no time. I completely by passed the size 14. I just kept putting off getting pants until I had to (we are leaving Wed. to go to ND to see Dh's sister and hubby), and tried on the 14's first, but they were too big!! I was teasing Dh yesterday and asked him if he wanted a chocolate!! The answer was a definite NO!! Glad that you are feeling a bit better today.

Monet--Sounds like you are having a nice relaxing weekend. Thanks again for all the support! YES, it will happen for you soon!! I know that you work hard, and it will start to pay off again.

Okay..... I am going to go find a picture of Brant to post!!

Ok, another really punny Phriday phunny. This one is for all the educators....

At Providence Airport today, an individual, later discovered to be a public
school teacher, was arrested as he tried to board a flight while in
possession of a compass, a protractor, and a graphing calculator.

Authorities believe he is a member of the Al-Gebra movement. He is being
charged with carrying weapons of math instruction.

Evening, or actually, Morning All:wave:

Still up, waiting for MICHAEL to come home from the movies. Just spoke to ALEX'S father and they were just calling him on his cellphone to come pick them up, so it will be a while. I don't like going to bed before everyone's in for the night normally, if I can help it.

ELI is working in the afternoon tomorrow, so not sure what I'll do after he goes in. He went to sleep early, he's overtired, over worked (his own fault) and has been having weird back pain, so I'm hoping he'll just sleep in. May see what my DM is doing and if nothing may try to see if she's feeling up to going a few places.

We are going to Orlando 2 weels from today, make that yesterday (Saturday). We're suppose to hook up with SOLSHINE & VINCE, but I haven't heard from them in a while so not sure if that will take place. We are limited on time on Saturday and gosh knows how we'll feel after getting up at some ridiculous hour to drive there to get there early in the morning. Will come home on Sunday night, which is ELI'S birthday (the 13th).

I am thinking of taking MICHAEL to look at a few colleges next month, July, instead of August. I saw my cousin on line and they will be here at the time we are going up to Maryland. If we go beforehand, we have a place to stay, which would be great AND we would get to see them and their kids more than if we went later, then we wouldn't see them but for a day, at the wedding, so I'm thinking it over. If we do go, we aren't going to go up to Harvard, I just can't do all the driving that far and ELI just doesn't want to go, he doesn't find it fun:shrug: running around looking at colleges. Not that I do, but it's something that has to be done. Anyhow, we would go there and to NYU, which I was told is only 4 hours away, so would make it a day trip and then go back to Maryland. Honestly, besides seeing my cousins, I'm most excited about going to
TRADER JOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:sp in:

COUNTRY, DD is absolutely gorgeous-your husband should be weilding a baseball bat, for sure! She looks like you! Oye, you and I will both be worrying, I don't think any parent doesn't when their kids start to drive. I think I will be having "white knuckle syndrome" for a long time, every time they get behind the wheel!!!

WAREAGLE/BEACH, I am so happy to have you back!!!:spin: I've missed you and have thought about you often and what was happening with you and your life. You were one of the first members of our wonderful board! We welcome you back with open arms. I was speaking to COUNTRY on the phone today and precisely what you said, about those who feel embarressed when they've strayed and don't come back to the board, when in fact, it's the most important place to come to in times like that. We all go through this, tough times, small set-backs, but as you well know, there's nothing like the board, the people on this board, to be there for you in these times and of all people, we totally understand what you are going through as we all have experienced this in our lives. We're here for you ANNA, and always will be:) BTW, I always told people who questioned bananas that you ate them and still lost on SB, so even if you weren't on the board, you were talked about quite often, well, at least when it came to the subject of bananas;)

MONET, cute ones! Some I've seen, others I hadn't. Thanks for sharing! Read my post above about the possibility I won't be here-will let you know if I make the decision.

TEENSY, too bad BRANDT couldn't get those other 2 minutes in-darn! Sounds like he did real well nonetheless. What do they win if they come in first for that sort of thing? Okay, now that we see the picture of him on that massive animal, you have to put a regular face shot of him to see what he really looks like!

Okay, time to get ready to hit the hay!

Morning!

Up late, up early - wish I could sleep in!

OMG, I found this great piece of freeware for my palm pilot! It allows me to download any info from the web and put it on my palm. I tried it with this page and it worked, I was able to read the board with my PP! How cool is that! I've found a ton of freeware to download on to my palm that's useful, not only fun!

Forgot to mention, yesterday, my neighbor FRED helped me get my lawn mower working - it was only a sparkplug that needed to be replaced and a little rust removed from the connector. I was soooo happy when it started up. Now I can do the lawn easily and keep it up so it won't get so high and in the long run, save some $$$!:spin:

TEENSY, great picture, thanks for sharing! :D

Okay, going to see if Mr. Dead is stirring!

Hi: Been MIA - I just had a Sheltons Pot Pie for breakfast!!! Ahhh, they are just too good! Will work it off with the stuff that has to be done in the house today - downstairs will be tiled and so I have to move everything upstairs - so carrying things up the stairs all day long ought to count for some exercise. With the mortgage rates on the decline, our office has been hopping. Lots of stress, lots of closings, and lots of drama with wierd co-workers - so causes more work for me....I get home, lie down, and the next thing I know it is morning and time to start all over again. Thank God for friends like Serene (Wendy) she has been a help and is coming over in exchange for my cooking her something good and legal to eat for dinner - she is going to help me get stuff upstairs.....

SO, I have missed a LOT on Board and it will take me a while to get caught up!!!! But, I think about you all and wish I could get on the board more often - I know that I will be able to when I am at my mother's next week! I am taking a much needed vacation to Mom and Dad's and will be gone for 10 days - I can get on their computer and relax and they have already started planning meals around Sugar Busters!

Sorry for not being more personalized - and writing to each of you - take care Sugar Buster Pals! Sabrina

Hey! This will be a quickie as a have a small break at church while all the kiddies are in their SS. class and before the service begins.

Speaking of all the redneck stuff--yesterday Auburn lost power for over an hour when a chicken snake crawled into a powerstation and got fried! A huge picture of the cripsy (and I do mean crispy) snake was on the front page of the paper this
morning.

No time for individual replies, but I did want to say to

Wareaglefan--Nice to have you back on the board!! Especially now that football season is around the corner. We can gang up on BOB, Gator, and Missy!

;) Hi Everyone.

Today is a beautiful day where I live in Alabama. The sun is shinning and the humidity is low. I'll get in a great walk later today. My hubby is also working with me on losing weight and he now walks with me everyday. We also have started a tradition of going out to eat at noon on Sundays with just us...no teenagers! We go to the Fishmarket restraunt in Birmingham. If you have never been it is a SB delight. I have the broiled snapper with greek seasoning and it is out of this world. I also had green beans. I avoid the hushpuppies!

Fillise, Bob and Deb. It is good to be back. I'm still a beachfan and will be going to the beach the week of July 13 but this year Auburn is suppose to be great in football so I thought the new Wareagle fan moniker was appropriate. It's to remind Bob and Gator that we are going to beat them!

Everyone else I will learn your names and info soon. Yes, I do eat bananas and lose weight. One thing I did and was successful on SB was to also count calories. This time I am journalling and somewhat following WW. I do it for the journalling more than to count points. I read an article in U.S. News and World report that says the only people successful in keeping off the weight are the ones who continue to journal and excercise after they lose the weight. Well since maintaining is my weak point, I decided to use the WW plan to journal. I follow SB because I have a blood sugar problem and by combining the 2, I seem to be doing ok.

Have a great day!

Sunday....

Mornings are lazy around here, since church is at six in the evenings... I slept late...until about 8 this morning! That is really good for me! After coffee and breakfast, I played on the gamecube...what else?

Eating has been ok, with a bit of naughty indulgences thrown in. Mostly chips. I was surprised to see my weight is down this morning in spite of that, and attribute it to my increased T3 thyroid prescription.

Not much else to share, so I think I will go do something I have been putting off. There are just so many chores I have been putting off, I hardly know where to start! :)

Hey Everyone!

Just popping in to say hello! We've got another tropical storm heading our way - have you seen that? We had 2 last year - I'm glad I just got my new roof!!! Geez!

WAREAGLE/BEACH!!!!!! HEY!!!! I'm so glad you are back! I've gained a bunch of weight back too but I still come back here to have DEB kick my butt and try to get me back in gear. You came back just in time for football season rag time! WOOHOO! Did you see my picture of our mardi gras float on page 7 of this weeks postings? It is so cool....I just know you'll love it!!

Talk to all of you later! Y'all watch the weather! We may just float away!

Today has been one of those busy busy days. Over here visiting mom. We put up some peppers from her garden. They are wonderful but too much sugar so a no no. :) She is getting stronger every day but it will still be about 4 weeks before she can really do any thing.

Colleen...Loved the rodeo shot. My daughter misses doing the barrels. Our truck broke a few months ago so no way to get the trailor to competition.

Heartmom....you are one beautiful lady and I hope that you get it one day. You are not only beautiful outside but your spirit shines through.

Missy...I did see the float. That is gonna be soooo cool. How do ya'll go about making the float? Does it take a long time? I guess I need to check out the news if something tropical might be coming this way again. You never know when those puppies hit the gulf where they might end up.

Monet....too cool the weight is down some. Lazy sounds good to me. Today was one of those days I could have stayed in the bed.

Deb....LOL I can just see you sitting there with the white knuckles. As good as she drives I dread her being out there on her own. Especially getting from here to there in the country..it just seems so far from everything.

Welcome back Anna!

((Everybody))

Love,
Crystle

Crystal: I am sooo excited about that float!! The floats are made in New Orleans. We rent them from the Krewe of Ceasar. They actually use the same "bodies" or "shells" and they just re-do the outer part in the new style for the next year. I'm sure it takes the majority of the year to make them - we rent about 20 from them - and they are absolutely beautiful - the detail is amazing. I'll be sure to take a picture when we get to see it so that I can post the real thing.

Talk to you later!!

Hi BeachFan. I'll have to get used to your new name. My DH and I just got back from the weekend in north Florida where he attended his 45th HS reunion. Boy, he owes me. I earned a bunch of points by going, where I knew no one. I was very nice and I hope he was happy I was there. Beach, I'll have to go back on the board and read your earlier message. It looks like you have added a few pounds and need the discipline again. I agree with what you said that people need to stay faithful for their entire life to remain slim for life. I have read so many articles in the paper about that. I hate to count calories, and can barely journal, but I do have better success when I do.

BOB--We went through Gainesville on the way home and picked up a local paper there. Boy, the news is bad for my beloved Gators. After Spurrier left, our new coach has taken them way down way fast!! Actually, Zook lost by as many points in just one game last year (Miami) as Spurrier as coach lost ALL his games in the Swamp during the entire 12 years he was there. The poor Gators are rated WAY DOWN in the standing just in the SEC, not to mention nationally. All of you should be licking your chops. I plan to have a really nice tailgate party, so we will have fun at the party even though we won't be doing so well on the field.

Well, gotta go. Just wanted to get on before the weekend ended. Gotta go and register for Do NOt Call.

OK, I'm back now. Just wanted to ask Monet if you are still losing just one pound a month. Doesn't it just drive you nuts? How can you stay faithful with such a slow loss. With the normal fluctuations up and down, how do you know if it is just a little more water retention or not? I thought you were losing after your dr. had you on something in addition to the thyroid? I know that the 30 mg. Armour are not going to be enough for me because I am hot all the time now, and have a few other "symptoms." Monet, will you be coming through Orlando at all. I'd love to meet you. You have been such an encouragement for me, as I have often been tempted to throw in the towel because of the thyroid "induced" lack of weight loss.

CountryMom--You look great.

Eveing All:wave:

I didn't do a blessed thing exciting today. ELI and I went to SHORTY'S BBQ for lunch before he headed off to work. I stayed home the rest of the day sorting old Mastercard receipts and going through all my coupons-exciting, isn't it! Went to p/u LAUREN at my sister's house, visited for a while, hit Walgreens and Winn Dixie and came home-that was my day!

Feeling better but still not totally over this darn cold. It seems to be hanging on for dear life-hate it!

Want to get in a replies before I hit the hay, so here goes...

TRANQUIL, pot pie for breakfast - geez, I thought I was bad having one just about every day, but I think eating one for breakfast beats me, though I do have to admit, I've thought about doing the same thing:^: Hope things are better for you at work this week, at least the month is over tomorrow!

FILLISE, ewwwww, I'm not sure I'd of liked to seen fried snack in the newspaper!

BOB, you and ELI need to get a room together in some spa and get a major rub-down! I swear, he sounds like you a few weeks ago! You didn't like PDL? Here's what I have on order at the library:

8 mile
Adaptation
Antwone Fisher
Barefoot in the park; a new comedy. (for LAUREN)
Bawang bie ji Farewell my concubine /
Catch Me If You Can
Drumline (saw it already but loved it)
Evelyn
Iris
Rabbit-proof fence
Rain
Spirited Away(MICHAEL saw it and wants to see it again)
Tuck Everlasting
Auto Focus

I have a slew that I want to order as well but I've reached my limit on the holds I can do so as they come in I'll put another one on hold.

BEACH, okay, I know, old names are hard to forget, I'll just have to get use to calling you WAR, or maybe it should be EAGLE? That's great DH is doing this with you, I think it makes it easier. I wish ELI would do it with me, but I'm flying solo. Is it DESTIN you will be going to in July?

MONET, glad to hear the scale's down for you. Lucky you for getting to get some extra zzzzz's - wish I could!!!

FRUIT, I heard on the news about the TS and thought about you gals who are in the area. Let's hope and pray we are spared any major storms this year!!!!

COUNTRY, glad to hear your DM is improving daily! White knuckles, more like a white sheet and lack of a heart beat!!!!!

GATOR, WOW, 45 year reunion?!? How many people attended? Thank goodness MICHAEL has expressed an interest to go at least SEE the Gainsville campus, before he had no interest. I'd like him to take his undergraduate courses there and use his free scholarship before moving on. I'm going to hit the HFS if we stop there!

I'm outta here. Will start the new weekly board tomorrow morning. May not be the usual start of 6am, but don't worry, I'll be on! My MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY posts are killer ones tomorrow-stay tuned!!

NITE!

 Hi Everyone,

Well I went back to Beach so it wouldn't be confusing. Debbie, I don't think its possible to have a nickname for Wareagle! I'm glad to be back and will really appreciate the support of the board. We're going to Gulf Shores for our vacation...Destin is too popular for me. The part of Gulf Shores we are going to is quiet and won't be too crowded. Friends of mine just got back from Destin and they said it was packed.

Stayed on plan today. I count that a blessing after losing weight for 2 years, staying on plan for about 8 months and then going off. Gaining back the weight is much quicker than losing it! It is so hard to stop the cravings.

See ya'll tomorrow.

Just a quick post before going to bed. Have been very busy, and will be for the next couple of days. We are leaving early Wednesday morning. Have still got a lot to do before our departure date. We will be back next Monday. Hope that you all have a great and OP week. Will try to post before leaving.
