Here are the rules. The fastest to shed 2 % of their body weight wins. To calculate 2 % just multiply .02 with your body weight and round off to the nearest .2 lbs.

I've crunched some numbers last night and realized I'm 3 pounds away from losing 40 pounds since mid June. I'm kind of proud of myself today. What makes me feel even better is that I'm not over the top crazy this time. I'm making the best choices I can and doing my best not to best myself up over the scales fluctuations:)

:carrot: This is a tremendous loss in ten weeks; that's an average of four pounds a week or 1.2 % of your body weight. I have read that losses of 1 % body weight/week were realistic, so you are above that.

At the same time, you are not doing a Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD). I don't like those; they make me feel ill and weak.


What makes me feel even better is that I'm not over the top crazy this time. I'm making the best choices I can and doing my best not to best myself up over the scales fluctuations:)

If you do not give up, you will achieve your goal. Lastly, if you focus on making healthier choices instead of eating from a set menu (with very little calories), it will be more of a lifestyle change.

Tomorrow will be ugly, I just had the saltiest dinner ever. I already feel my fingers swelling up with bloat :( I stayed within calories but the darn sodium... I hope it will be only a pound. Tori, I am boiling water for my green tea as I type, hoping for the same counteract :)

:nono: I broke down and had more salty stuff as a snack last night and scale is up a bit more. I had a whole packet :o of smoked salmon with creamcheese and crackers as an evening snack. Not over did it put me over my calories but the amount of salt I ate.....#FeelingEmbarrassed

cheeriloos I love cheesecake and we may have it for our 30th Aniversary on the 9th of Sept.. gotta celebrate that 30 years LOL
Another month almost over. On the daily weigh-in thread I set a goal for 10 lbs this month and for a bit there I was worried I wouldn't make my goal.. But I've hit it so far losing 10.6 for the month. I may even have 11 or 12 lost for the month before it's over but just to hit my goal is good for me.. :)

Sum38, that sounds like it must have been delicious, but I don't think the effects of it should be too bad! I always try to drink more water when I know I am eating something that has more sodium than what I should normally eat.

Oh, cheesecake, it is pretty good although I've always shied away from eating much, even before starting to try to actively lose weight, due to an egg allergy and most cheesecakes utilizing it in their recipes. I guess having the egg allergy probably saved me from gaining another extra 50 lbs on desserts. :o

another drop (1.2 lb ) at this mornings weigh in. I'm thrilled with the drops but not as happy as I should be because I'm a little worried about my health. I'm having issues in the bathroom dept. (not going) and I'm still dropping weight right now so i'm a tad concerned... Although I have been eating on the lower end of calories the past few days.

I was up today, I'm guessing it was just a bit of water retention from doing a new workout yesterday, but I don't think it's going to be any better tomorrow after eating out today. :(

Ate a delcious meal of fresh oysters as an appetizer, a paella with salmon (nice twist), shrimps, mussels and chorizo and a choco-coconut pie with sorbet and caramelized waffles.

Temperatures were warm, so we were seated by large windows. Even by 11 PM, we could be sleeveless. Today is the perfect summer day.

I love fall but I can't say goodbye to summer yet.

Tuscany is 2 pounds away and Stay Puft is doing really well too.

Stay Puft- I thought I did not like them raw either, but then one of my friend became a professional oyster shucker and I had access to the freshest oysters. I absolutely looove them.

I don't buy them at the grocery market. I buy them at places with high volume who cater to restaurants and I always check the harvest tag.

I have been to the Canadian shucking championship in Prince Edward Island (It's really funny. They have penalties if shell parts or sand find themselves inside the oysters.) and I can tell you this is the food of all food that makes feel the cleaner. Lots of proteins, minerals like zinc and vitamins and it's low in calories.

You can eat them to your heart's content and the scale can smile to you the next day. Next week, there is an oyster festival in my town and I know the people who organise it. I can't wait!

Oh, that's right : weight reporting! I am, same as yesterday's, at 147.6 lbs, a sticky weight I keep going back to. I will count calories today.

Yes, I remember that you are a fellow Canadian, Mountain Mama. There is nothing like fresh seafood. I once had a lunch meal of crab legs that were caught in the morning and cooked on the ship in sea water.

Nothing beats that!

Can't you get fresh fish/seafood from Louisiana or Mississipi? It's close.

I got this. Two days of whooshes. A 1.6 lbs drop today after a 1.4 lbs yesterday. I skipped 145 entirely.

Maybe Tuscany or another one has reached goal too. If so, we'll share the win and the glory.

I missed this last night. Thank you.

Two of my friends told me that they did not like oysters and now they love it and order them often in restaurants. It might not be for everybody, but once you know you have a good product. It's prepared right i.e. chilled and it tastes like clean sea water, it's hard to hate it.

And Northern oysters taste different than Southern one. They are mild and subtle.

If you find yourself in the Pacific Coast (Washington, Oregon, BC), the kumamoto oyster tastes like buttery cucumber. It's easy to love.

Aaaah, oysters! I could talk about them all day!
