its august 1st already ladies and gents, so time for a new thread and new goals! :carrot:

remember you can aim for any goal you want, whether its a couple of pounds, 10 pounds or even maintaining!

my goal for September 1st is to lose 10 lbs.

I'm in! I'm on vacation in the Austrian alps from the 12th-18th. Going to try and figure out how to stay on plan with exercise. Hiking for sure, but running? I was never a runner, but will start trying this week.

Back on WW and feeling pretty positive...goal for this month is 6 pounds. Planning a trip to Disney World next May and the family is wanting to take group pictures...gotta get the weight off!!! Good luck to everyone!!!

Lots of cardio yesterday, 30min HIIIT on the eliptical and first jog on the treadmill for 15 minutes with some walking in between. I also did some simple stuff with heavier weights. I'm definitely getting stronger :D
Downside is I slept crappy with all of my energy.

Not happy. These last 25lbs until my main goal has been really hard to lose and I hear that the last 10lbs are the hardest..... Yeah, I'm kinda nervious about when I get to the last 10 ane how hard it will be.

A little loss, step in the right direction! I'm a little bummed because I've been working on jogging every other day and it looks like my ankles are requesting I get new shoes. Oh well.

Ian your body is probably just stabilizing for a big drop. You are all doing such a great job. I can't wait to weigh in on Friday. Maybe I'll even weigh in tomorrow. Going to try and pick my scale up. Hopefully 202 tomorrow or 201.5 on Friday. We'll see.

ok I couldn't help myself but take a sneak peek at the gym. I told myself I wouldn't take it serious because I usually weigh in fully naked after I pee in the morning. Well after 55 minutes of cardio and a t-shirt full of sweat I weighed in at 91.5kg or 201.8lbs. I'll verify that against my scale soon.

bit of a tmi (sorry gents!) but I finally got my time of the month, after 6 years of depot injections and having an implanon fitted, I know most of us chicks hate our periods but it feels good to know my body is getting back to normal!

Down 1 lb this morning! 8.5 to go to meet my sept. challenge. I know I can get this done :-) I like how everyone is tracking their weights on here, will do that tomorrow when I have more time as I keep a journal of my weigh ins so will be easier to track my progress.

Down 0.8lbs today. I am having three rest days from exercise to: i) give my leg a chance to rest (I overdid it yesterday running); ii) to get rid of what I think is a lot of water weight; and iii) to do a motorcycle course that starts too early and ends too late to get a workout in.

Newbie here. I joined in 2007 but never did anything. However I'm on a new journey and I accept the challenge. I would do anything to be back in the one hundreds. I've been working out/smaller portions all this week. So a 2 lb weight loss is good. :)

something is obvs wrong. My feet are swollen and my body is sore. I think this must be exercise water weight. I have been going hard at HIIT this week and jumping lots. Jumping is kind of bad for my flat feet. I'm going to stop taking the aerobics classes(fit bo&fit max) where I have to jump so much and stick to step aerobics, fat burner and weights. I go on vacation Monday to the alps in Tirol so I will be hiking lots. Going to try and plan food as best as I can. Bringing lots of apples with me.

Oh dear God I feel disgusting. Too much crap food last night. Back on track today and rather than being mad at myself I'm so happy I don't eat this way all the time anymore. It's nice to have made peace with the fact that one off weekend does not mean anything more than it was one off weekend. In the past I would have just continued to overeat because the damage was already done. I feel like I've finally "gotten it" and have no doubt that the scale will quickly go back down.

Stayed the same today. Gonna tweak my eating a bit and get my carb ratio down and protien up. Still eating clean no junk or prepared foods but my body doesn't want to give me a release! Walked 2.5 hrs with the dogs so a good amount of exercise. Don't know but I need to change something without giving up too many calories, yesterday's calories total 1130 cal.

weighed in at 256 this morning, that makes a total of 8lbs since august 1st. part of me is excited, part of me worries maybe my scale is broken and I haven't actually lost that much lol. although I suppose, that works out at around 4lbs per week, and at my weight that's maybe not so bad or too fast at all? also a bit disappointed that my 'period' I was so excited at finally getting turned into nothing, lasted half a day lol, cant wait for my body to finally get back to normal.

Down another .5 this morning! Happy happy! More protein seems to agree with me :-) I have not eaten bread, rice or potatoes for weeks. Don't really miss it either. Just need o b a bi more inventive with my proteins without adding in fast. Might try a protein shake for breakfast today, I'm getting tired of eggs :-( not a huge breakfast person to start with and I know I need those calories as I'm only averaging 900 cals. A day. My limit is 1200 but can't seem to go that high.

I managed to put on 1lb on my usual weigh in day Saturday as I went away for a few days last week. Now it's Wednesday I've lost that 1lb and it took a friend! Maybe I can lose another pound before my next official weigh in day and I will have lost 4 whole stone!!!

Ian - I hear you on the last few pounds. I have a great stretch, then boom it stops, then another good stretch of consistently (even though slowly) losing, then boom it stops again.

Good morning everyone! Down 1 lbs this morning. Yesterday was a day off from exercise. So am surprised with that big of a loss.
boatingmommy I changed it up about three days ago to push more protein and less carbs. I think it's working. Will keep at it till I either stall or reach goal.

Here is what my day yesterday looked like
Breakfast 1 scoop protein powder
1/2 c blueberries
1tbsp. Full fat Greek yogurt
1 c. Unsweetened almond milk
Coffee with cream no sugar

Lunch
Left over steak, red bell pepper, red onion tossed with organic garlic and basil dressing

Dinner
4oz cooked shrimp
1/2c green beans, 1/2 yellow pepper, red onion, and a few mini yellow squash. Sautéed in a bit of olive oil and fresh garlic

I drink at least 10 glasses of water a day and usually drink three cups of coffee with cream throughout the day.

Bananas are really high in sugar, I would eat protein not high sugar fruit. Just my opinion though you won't know till you try.

botingmomma so happy it worked for you. I just try to eat lower fat proteins and try to keep my carb ratio down.

Stayed the same today but kinda expected it after yesterday's loss. Have a great day everyone! Make it count!!

Scared to death!!! One of my oldest and dearest friends is coming into town tonight. Getting together with a bunch of my high school friends for dinner and drinks. sue - I feel ya :( the scale has not been my friend this past while, hoping it budges soon

this morning it said 258, I said some colourful words for 7am when that number popped up haha. will see what it says in the morning, I know I cant have actually gained 2 lbs, since I haven't been over my calories. been eating too much sugar though so that may be a reason. question - I am not doing low carb or anything, but when I have looked at the sugar in my diet it is really quite high, even though it is mostly all from fruit. and I don't think I actually eat an excessive amount of fruit. I am using myfitnesspal for tracking. does anyone have any words of advice regarding if I should try to not eat so much sugar from fruit? which fruits are maybe a bit lower in sugar? thanks :)

Why does the scale have to go up for no reason?! Kinda bummed to see it go up the last couple days, but I know that I've been eating right on plan so it's not true "fat." Actually, I'm really happy about my attitude towards it...I've NEVER in the HISTORY of my LIFE was ok with anything but HUGE losses on the scale (like 5 pounds every 3-5days, and if I didn't see that kind of loss then I'd give up). Today I saw that it was up another half pound (each day I've gone up a half pound the last couple days) and it didn't change my mood at all. :) I'm going to blame it on a friend making me do sit-ups and push-ups after our hike and wait for it to come back down (or maybe it's TOM weight. I've never weighed daily so maybe this is my "normal" weight cycle)

mccull that's a great attitude, I have had the scale go up the last couple of days, today it came back down to 257 so its going in the right direction again. I have been keeping a note of my weight each Saturday, last Saturday I was 259 so I will take 257 even if its not the lowest I've seen this week.

scale was back down to 256 this morning, hoping it doesn't go back up again! the only thing I ate off plan was a weight watchers toffee desert, 177 calories and I worked it into my daily allowance so I cant explain the 2lb jump I had. never mind, if only weight loss was linear :rolleyes:

also this latest pound lost was significant, as although I do not put much worth in BMI scores, this makes my BMI 39.9, meaning I am no longer classed as 'morbidly' obese. I have dropped the 'morbidly' lol.

8/19: 174.5 Yippeeeee! I stayed on track at the family dinner. Had to laugh because my mother-in-law made a HUGE pot of green beans because she knows I usually love them. But, she made them the old way...with half a pound of bacon in them! NOT on my diet. Feeling good, but sad that my sister-in-law made a few comments to the tune of, "oh, you're dieting again?"
Congrats to all you "losers"!!! Some of you are sooo close to the 10 lbs. Way to go!

Don't worry about them, most people who treat people that way when they see someone trying to better themselves are a tad insecure, and they might not realize how rude they seem. Don't let the feeders and jealous commenters get to you, you are doing awesome!! They probably are used to you being bigger and are worried about looking bad next to you :D

Cheeriloos - Thanks for the pep talk. I really do think that is why she says some of the things she does. I was down to about 155 about three years ago. I swear she worked hard at trying to sabotage me with extra invitations to dinners and drinks, and comments of "you are getting too skinny, you look sick." She was always the "thin" one...now she probably weighs 10 lbs more than I do. Going to try and make her see that maybe she should JOIN me instead of CRITICIZING me. Thanks again...the positive comments really help!!!

I'm back from the beautiful Austrian Alps. I had a great time and ate tons of food. Real food! I didn't eat any junk but went way over portion sizes. Luckily I haven't probably gained much back I did go up quite a few lbs before I left and seemed to have lost 3 of them in a week. I just want to be under 200lbs so bad. Back on plan as of today. Congrats everyone!

8/7-8/9 UP way tooo much so did not post (I missed you all!)
8/10 248 Horay... lost 3 lbs of water from IANG's beer diet.. So happy now to get back to 247 and lower!!
8/11 248 again but its inflamation...

8/13 246.5 So happy its down... Had a fever yesterday, which I know helped.. But I;ll take it!

IAN... Gotta figure what Tuesday has on you (and occasional Thursdays) Do you eat something specific on Sundays that is different (My old WW coach said that the weight would show up 2 days later on the scale)... Just thinking....

I am in the same rut (I hope my doctor figures it out.. or solves at least my neck spasming and swollen glands issue) as the last 3 months... 3 weeks of nothing except up/down then whooosh.. So lets hope that that Whoosh starts soon as the month is getting on the back end and getting shorter too!

Still sitting at 169.5 since Thursday but had a busy weekend at the dog show, ate fairly well but enjoyed a couple of beverages :-) and yesterday I had surgery on my hand and forearm. I'm sure there is inflammation going on so am not panicking but doing an IF day today to see if I can get the freakin scale to budge!

WTF!!!! Onederland! I haven't seen you in about 5 or 6 years. It probably won't stick. I did go to the gym and eat good yesterday, but last night I got sucked into a party which involved drinking a few too many :o . Going to focus on getting my lost water and vitamins back today. There's a big ole' veggie soup waiting for me in the fridge. Would be nice if it stuck though.
