August is for early apples, bouquets of sharpened pencils, and setting goals! What are your weight loss goals for the coming month?

State your goal and track it throughout the month with a supportive and encouraging group. We will compile our goals into a list. As each goal is met during the month, it gets turned RED in celebration. Woohoo!

For fitness related goals, check out our sister thread: August Exercise Challenge (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/chicks-up-challenge/285539-august-exercise-challenge.html)

I'm new to 3FC. I tried to journal but couldn't stick to it. I tried a buddy system with my sister but she has 3 little ones and no time. So I'm trying to find some support while I lose weight. I have a lot to loose (<275 lb) I'm losing to get into medical school and my wedding dress (Fall 2015). I'm applying to medical school for the 2014 entry cycle but I'm worried I wont get in because of the way I look. Im determined to lose the weight I have struggled with my entire life. I accept this challenge. :carrot::carrot::carrot:

Goal weight-

Tried Zumba for the first time last night. What a great workout and what a blast!!! Fun stuff!
I don't know if I discussed this last month. My weight loss strategy involves counting calories on the my fitness pal app and I workout 4-5/week. I'm going to continue with the same plan for August.

For all the newbies joining this month, I encourage you to really stay involved in this challenge by posting regularly. Can you still make your goal without posting? Sure can! Is it as much fun? No way! Knowing I was not only holding myself accountable but that I needed to report back to my challenge buddies made me make wiser choices. Also, the support was there if I had a day of eating poorly or the scale hated me. Good luck to everyone! Let's embrace this clean slate and fresh start.

Good Morning All! I know some people begin this challenge with their starting weight as at Aug 1, while others use July 31. In my case this month, there's no difference since I'm the same today as yesterday.

SW (Jul 31): 157.25

Lene has given good advice to the newbies. I too would encourage people to post regularly.

Are you joining us this month, Positive? We need lots of positive attitude!

Zumba? I've thought about doing that, perhaps in the fall/winter when I can no longer do too much outside (right now I do a lot of walking/biking outdoors). Did you take a class or just use a DVD? If you've found a really good DVD, let me know which one.

Good luck to everyone on their August journey!

I used to not be able to eat meringue, my body did not like egg whites by themselves, but now i eat egg beaters all the time so I wonder if I would like it, can you use egg beaters to make them? or do you need the pure egg?

I use 9 tbsp of egg beaters and 1/2 cup sugar gives me like 3 dozen. You just have to beat them longer to get them where they need to be. I make them in all these awesome colors!!

My TOM just started and I need to note that on my weight progress for my own reference. Those fluctuating hormones and physiological changes really mess with my weight so I am trying to keep track of what happens. Sorry if it's too much info!

Tuscany and Pnkrckpixikat, it was a live Zumba class and yes I was completely uncoordinated! LOL! I took my daughters and my teenage nieces with me and we had a great time!

Pnkrckpixikat, from this moment on you will be shortened to Pixikat for me. Are you okay with that? I like to write personals and there's only so many hours in the day. :)

Bleumaus, the meringues look yummy! Thanks for sharing!

Tuscany - You're consistant dropping amazes me, even at .25, or rather .5 today!

Lene - Zumba sounds so fun, I may have to look around at different gyms. I have to be honest; I'm slightly intimidated by them. Which is really absurd because I worked in one in college.

Hello and welcome to all!

So, tomorrow starts my really big challenge this month. I go on vacation! Eek! I'm looking forward to it, but you know how it is. It's easy to stray. Luckily, I'll be traveling there tomorrow and coming back the following Saturday, and Saturdays are my allowed cheat day, so that will make fast food places along the way easier to cope with. I just have to stay on plan Sunday-Friday! I plan to take my computer with me, so hopefully you chickies can help me stay on track! I'm doing a low-ish carb diet, and I can have leans meats, fish, eggs, beans, and non-starchy veggies, so there really are lots to choose from. I can do this, I can do this, I can do this (right?), lol!

@Bleu - I just did something similar on Tuesday. We packed lunches (we had to leave the park to eat because they don't allow outside food to be brought in but we also get readmission). I didn't eat anything at the park just because of price but I would suggest if there is one snackey item (for me it's funnel cakes or mini donuts) that is outside of your program allow yourself to have some, but share them with someone else.

Jacqui_D
08-02-2013, 11:24 PM
Congrats Leah! :yay:

Bleu, if you can pack a lunch and snacks like Leah mentioned, I'd say go that route since you just hit the 170's. However, if you don't think you can do it, give yourself a cheat day. Eat want you want and don't feel guilty about it, but be aware of what you're eating and don't overeat. You might weigh a bit more the next day, but in the long run, you'll keep losing. It's better to plan a cheat day than to make up your mind you cannot cheat, then slip up and possibly give up and overeat in frustration.

I'm up a little which I expected. I gave into carb cravings last night and had home made white pizza (yum, buy the way) and frozen yogurt with fresh fruit. Technically, with my run yesterday I was still within my calories, it was just a little carb crazy for me.

I read everyone's posts but I need to get out of the house early and still have to pack some healthy food for the day. I'll try to check back in later!

Really quick, I had a yay moment yesterday... I got my first "are you losing weight" remark! So that took 7lbs and 4 weeks for someone to notice and say something. It was nice to hear!

Good Morning. I'm very happy to report that I said goodbye to another 0.75 lbs this morning!

Aug 1: 157.25
Aug 2: 156.75 (-0.5)
Aug 3: 156.00 (-0.75)

GW: 149.00

Lene: It's great when others start to notice your success, and you can start to enjoy the results of all your hard work. Congrats!

Turtle: My crystal ball tells me you will see a "16" on the scales in the very near future! I might also think about a Zumba class in the fall, but like you I find these classes a little intimidating. We shall see.

GardenerJoy: I'm sorry about yet another UP...but I'm sure it's just water. With your newly-formed good habits, you'll soon see a reversal.

BleuMaus: Congrats on getting into the 170's. We all love to enter a new decade! FWIW, whenever I go on day trips, I either pack a low-cal picnic lunch or, if picnicking isn't possible, I take a bunch of snacks (apples, other fruit, protein bars, etc.) and eat something light every few hours. Have fun today!

Pixi: Nice loss...you too will soon be in the next decade!

Jacqui: Enjoy VA Beach and try to behave at least a little bit. :)

LovelyLeah: Way to toss a full pound to the curb!

TrayTeam: Great loss...almost a full pound for you too.

Kirsten: Welcome and good luck with your goal!

bg124: 2 lbs in 2 days...woohoo! :carrot: At that rate, you will also enter a new decade soon.

Good morning ladies! Looks like everyone is doing great! That white pizza sounds delicious! I know that someone posted about a cauliflower pizza crust in the recipes section that is low carb, seems like it would go great with a white pizza, maybe with a little grilled chicken on top... yum!

Anyways, the scale is being nice and gave me another -.4 this morning, hopefully it'll continue!

Joy, your math is right for me, thanks! And congrats on your loss!

Lene, That's just a little water weight, especially since you stayed within your calorie allowance. Congrats on the losing weight comment! :spin:

Yay, bg! That is fantastic! :yay:

Congrats Tuscany! :carrot: And I will try to be good starting tomorrow, lol! (Today's my cheat day. I'm allowed to be bad.)

Woohoo, Pixikat, on another drop! :cb:

Turtle, I know it's no fun to have to be patient, but you are doing a great job! Hopefully, you'll see a drop soon. :crossed:

Good luck on your renewed effort, Wolfgirl! :goodvibes:

Hiya, to ALL joining the challenge!

So today I lost another lb! However, today was my 10-hour travel day to VA. Beach and my allowed cheat day, so I don't know if I am going to go looking for a scale tomorrow, lol! I might give it a day or two. I don't even know if this hotel has a scale in the exercise room, but I'm thinking it should. I didn't go crazy eating, but compared to what I have been eating, it sure felt like it. And the usually forbidden foods (carbs) fill me up so quickly to the point I feel stuffed to the gills! I fully expect to weigh more tomorrow, but then the diet says that's what happens and not to sweat it because in the long run, you keep losing. Worked last week, but I feel like I ate more today, so we'll see. It should be my TOM but I'm 52 and it skips every once in a while and so far it hasn't happened. I'm grateful for that being on vacation, but it does make me feel bloated. Anyway, I'm happy to have lost the lb today! That makes 10! :broc:

Who would have thought that a NSV could be so frustrating. I have a potential job interview tomorrow so I went to try on my usual interview outfit and my skirt was huge on me. A good 4 or 5 inches too large around the waist. There was a moment of "woo-hoo!" and "crap!!" I had to tear apart the house to find enough safety pins to make it both fit and look good. Luckily the way the blouse is designed it's pretty forgiving.

I didn't do too well in July. I was still out of work and put on 5lbs in the first half of the month, I got a job and ended up losing weight the second half resulting in losing 2lbs overall for the month. Here's to a better August.

Start Weight = 154lbs
Current Weight = 152lbs (11th Aug)
End Weight =

Goal Weight = 148lbs - this will move me from obese to overweight BMI

I really like the way August is shaping up. I said goodbye to another 0.75 lbs today, so I've now lost 2 lbs since Aug 1...yippee!

Turtle: Boo, scales, boo! I'm sorry to see they're not being kinder to you. I know that no change beats a gain, but I also know how frustrating it can be when you keep seeing no change. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed so that, when you step on today, the number goes down, down, down...

Lene: Good luck with your weigh-in today too.

GardenerJoy: Yeah for the scales going in the right direction! :carrot:

Pixi: Soooo close to the next decade…keep up the good work!

Jacqui: Sounds like you're having fun. Congrats on the 10 lbs…I hope it sticks while you're away.

Leah: Well, that's good news and bad news with the skirt, but at least you've managed to fix things. Good luck on the interview!

bg124: I hear you on the importance of the next decade. I too can't wait to see the 140's...I was in the 150's about 4 years ago, but I haven't seen the 140's for at least 20 years. It will be great to meet them again.

wolfgirl: At least you know what you did wrong AND the scales were kind by not showing a gain.

cincorn: Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed your vacation. I also hope you've now fully recovered from your recent hospital stay.

Sum: Nice to see you back in this challenge. I hope August is kinder to you than July was.

Yeah, movement! One more day of the exact same weight and I might think there was something wrong with the scale. But then again I think there is something wrong with the scale about 4 times a month.

Tuscany - awesome job on the scales, 2 lbs down in 4 days! I might have you permanently keep your fingers crossed, it could be considered some sort of workout.

Lovely - good luck on the interview :) 5 inches in the waist is awesome

Jacqui - great job trying to stay on plan on vacation. I have a terrible time with thinking vacation is time off from EVERYTHING.

Lisa - moving BMI categories is a great motivation. I'm sure you'll have a better August, and two pounds down in a month in July is still great. Plus it was at the end of the month, so your mindset is already in weight loss mode.

Sum - great job with the start of the month!

Pixi - thanks for pointing out the recipe section, I didn't know it was there. I can't wait to get some good recipes. This month I'm trying to make 2 new healthy meals a week. I made some baked tofu the other night.

bg - It definitely looks like that weight is sticking! I have a vacation coming up in September, really nervous about it.

wolfgirl - one day won't hurt you, but not getting back on plan will. Awesome job with the 1 lb loss and the resolve to stick with it :)

cincorn - welcome

faye - Birthdays are a great motivation for me. It definitely looks like the scale is consistently moving down.

june - welcome back! You did great with us in July

Jacqui have a great time in VA Beach and if you can't find a scale don't sweat it too much, just stay OP and when you get back you can see your weight then.

Thanks everyone! The interview went really well and I'm about 80% I got the job. She promised to call me tomorrow. It will be great to get the job because one of my biggest food problems is boredom eating. Not being employed and out of class for the summer has given me the munchies! But classes start back up in 4 weeks. If I get this job I might start as soon as this week which would be nice to get the hang of it before school begins.

I'm up .5 pound but I think it might be from the high sodium I ate yesterday. I'm drinking tons of water today trying to flush my system out. I also talked my folks out of taking everyone out for Chinese buffet. We even out SO much in the past 2 weeks and while I've done my best to stay on track at restaurants it's REALLY difficult!

Sum, the scale is headed in the right direction! Good for you!

Bg, Ha! Dreams are funny. You'll do fine on vacation, especially with such determination!

Junebug, looks like you are on your way down. Keep going!

Joy, fantastic! :yay:

Turtle, lol, my scale must have come from the same factory. I'm pretty sure it breaks a few times a month too! Congrats on losing! And I know what you mean about vacation. It's tricky!

Pixikat, thanks! I did find a scale, so I'll be able to keep track, and incredibly, I am behaving myself, lol!

Wolfgirl, I'm so sorry you've been hurt. I'm glad you are taking care of yourself though. Keep going!

Well, I couldn't resist weighing myself, even though I said I'd give it a day or two. I was expecting the worst, but I maintained! I thought m-a-y-b-e my meals were normal size but the carbs filled me up so much, it was hard to judge and I was certain I had gained. Woohoo! And today, I have been very good staying on plan. Great weekend with the family! Today, we went hiking for a couple of hours, stopped for lunch had a salad and unsweetened tea, and then on our way home went raspberry and blackberry picking at a farmer's market. Beautiful weather, beautiful day!

My weight is little high but I really feel like I'm retaining water. I've tried to keep up with my water, get exercise in, and stay within my calories. I just think I'm going to have to ride Mother Nature out for a couple of days yet. I really should not weigh in during TOM, it's too disheartening.

Wolfgirl, I'm so sorry your going through family drama right now. I am most definitely an emotional eater so stressful times can really throw me in a tailspin. I'm glad you are feeling better about things and yay on the scale moving down for you!

Leah, glad you felt good about the interview and hopefully you get good news today. I consider talking your family out of the buffet a NSV. Each one of those positive little choices throughout the month adds up to success in the end :)

Faye, today's a new day! Good luck!

Gordongirl, great attitude!

Jacqui, great job staying on plan. Vacations are a definite challenge! Have a great day!

Pixi, darn that sodium! Good luck on the scale today!

Faye: My fingers are crossed for you too…but no late-night snacking and off to the gym with you! :)

I took the end of July to refocus myself try to let go of the stress I was creating for myself. I also had to figure out why I was constantly fatigued 24/7. Over the weekend I stayed OP, walked and swam on sat and hit the gym yesterday. But of course the silly scale wants to be stubborn and go the wrong way AGAIN *wags finger at scale* Meh! only thing it can be is water weight, my arms, shoulders and back are all sore from yesterdays weight training so today I will drink lots of water and hopefully be back to 250 or lower tomorrow!

Tuscany! My word, chickie! You've lost almost 3 lbs in 5 days! Good for you! :woohoo:

Turtle, yay on the loss! Just don't go too wild at the "thing" and you'll be okay.

Pixiekat, good job staying OP!

Tray, not too bad, just get back OP and you'll be fine. If the weekends are getting you, just try to plan them out a little better, and/or reward yourself with a little something if you stay OP. You got this!

TOM caught up with me, dang it, but I'm still having lots of fun and staying OP!

Thanks Jacqui, definitely should plan. With work during the week it's so easy to plan out eating what I brought in and just not leaving the office to get the horrible foods that I wind up getting over the weekend. The month is young though, and daily weigh ins definitely shed light on my habits more.

Tuscany: DH set our scale in kgs years ago for some project he was doing. I left it there because I discovered I have less of an emotional attachment to the numbers in kgs, making it easier to think of the scale number as simply data.

I GOT THE JOB!!! I will be personalizing ornaments at a Christmas store. Listening to Christmas day in and day out will get old fast but at least I finally have a job! It's a seasonal job so it will end at Christmas but I can probably transfer this skill to another store or something that does personalizations.

Pixi I don't know yet for grad school but I'm in the application process for Trinity Lutheran College out in Washington.

CONGRATS Leah on the job! I have two interviews this week, one tomorrow on campus and one yet to be scheduled past "sometime this week" at a hotel near me. Hopefully I get as lucky as you cause I am SOOOO BORED home all day!

Washington is supposed to be really pretty! I've always wanted to visit, I have a friend in Sea/Tac that I want to try to go see. I'll cross my fingers on the application for you :)

Lene: No worries about spelling or typos…it's only diet and exercise that count here. Hope the scales are kind to you soon, despite TOM.

Pixi: BOO scale BOO...but, you're right, when we start a new workout our bodies do retain more water to help to repair the little tears we've placed in our muscles. Those are all good things. Good luck with your job search.

Leah: Congratulations on the job!! :carrot: Fine Arts & Psychology leading to Art Therapy…what a fascinating choice. Way to go on the recent loss.

GardenerJoy: Interesting philosophy on the kg, and you're right, it's not good to get too hung up on the numbers.

Jacqui: You're hanging steady…that's a great result while on vacation.

junebug: Not to worry, your recent gain will soon reverse. I know what you mean. I also try to do too much at times, which is when I forget about eating properly and exercising…no more of that for me either.

GordonGirl: Congrats on the loss. You'll be in the 150's very soon!

Gardener For years I've had jobs where black slacks were part of the uniform, so since I haven't worked since Dec most of my black slacks got thrown out (the ones that were too big in the 220s) or are now waaaay too small since regaining close to 50lbs. I bought lots of jeans and shorts instead since I no longer HAD to wear them. I have one pair of 18s that i need another inch before they close :s lol so I just ran to Ross and picked up a pair for $12.

Bit of a random question... yesterday i was exausted but i dragged my *** to the gym but today I was so exausted i just turned over and went back to bed. Anyone have any tips on thoes days where your bed seems like a much better idea than working out?

Tuscany

BleuMaus: Is it possible for you to go to the gym later in the day? If so, perhaps make later your regular time (if you often have this problem). Or just go later on those days when you don't go first thing. Perhaps if your mind knows that, by staying in bed, you're just postponing the issue, not eliminating it, you'll make yourself get up!

bg - congrats on the new decade. I know It feels absurdly good :)

Leah - congrats on the job! I LOVE Christmas. I don't do too much decorating for the other holidays, but I go nuts at Christmas. I must have 6 huge bins of stuff. I might even think I wouldn't get sick of listening to Christmas music all the time.

Lene - you'll be in 160s soon, I bet you have a whoosh right around the corner.

Bleu - awesome job on the scales, they are moving right along! I prefer morning workouts. I used to get up, get on the elliptical, half asleep, and by the time I was fully awake I would be 3/4 of the way done with the workout. Now the getting up part is the tough one. After a few days of getting up I think your body gets used to the change, maybe tell yourself, just a couple more days and it'll be easier?

Tray - dodgeball is great. You have to stay really alert the whole time, I bet it burns a decent amount of calories.

pixi - congrats on the interview and GL, I'm sure you'll rock it :) Ross has good stuff, you just have to look. I actually got a cute Calvin Klein suit there a few months ago that was cheap.

Garden - new lows are awesome, you are so close to goal!

Tuscany - you just keep inching along, and it adds up so quick. I hope you aren't getting any finger cramps, because I can tell you've been keeping them crossed.

TuscanyThere you go again! see your body just needed a breather!

Bleumaus sometime your body really just does need some extra rest. are you usually consistantly able to get up and go? if so I wouldn't worry about a day here or there when it doesn't happen. If it is an everyday struggle... IDK, is there another time that you could go? after work or something? If not than maybe set more than one alarm only a minute or two apart, that has worked for me in the past, forced me to wake up enough that good intentions over-ruled the comfy bed.

BG CONGRATS! and I made it too! woot *high fives*

Turtle a full pound all in one go! awesome! keep it up :)

Gardener drat that soy sauce! make sure to get in LOTS of water today to flush the system

Leah apparently you have! while plateaus suck, when you make it through to the other side the steady drop is awesome to watch :)

Tray dodgeball sounds fun, where do you do it? I wonder if there is anything around my area...

Thanks for all the well wishes on the interview, I think it went really well. She said that she should know by Monday so I have a few days to wait it out lol The other job still hasn't gotten back to me to schedule an interview, it is kind of making me wary about management there :s meh

Today has been a good one so far for weight loss. saw 249.4 (hooray!) then I went for my walk which I do on my non-gym days (5k) as I was finishing my walk my DH called, he left his badge at home so I ran it up to him, his work is only a couple miles from my gym and I was already in my workout clothes so I went in and did a workout anyways since I was there. Tomorrow I'm going shopping for new work clothes. I'm excited because I know I've lost weight but I still have that bit of anxiety that shopping always brings. Also I'm going out to eat with my mom afterwards. I know where we're going and I'm making plans for what I'll eat but I'm still a little nervous. Not so much about the calories (though I do have some concerns) but because I have a very wacky digestive system and I haven't been able to quite figure out what triggers some rather TMI-type issues. I don't want that the day before my first day of work!!! I know I can't do high fat since my gall bladder was removed a year ago but that's the only solid trigger I know. The other triggers are alluding me and since I don't have solid insurance right now I can't simply go get a food sensitivity testing. Right now it's just trial and error. I seem to do better with higher fiber and less meat (not a strong option tomorrow since we're going to a soup and breadsticks joint).

But I will survive and I will rock my hot body is some new work clothes. <--- Does anyone else find that statement to be an oxymoron: hot work clothes?

Good grief, I GAINED 1.2 lb.s this morning and I have no explanation for it other than having a high sodium day. I ate chinese food, Kung Pao Tofu, for lunch. I actually had an appetite yesterday so I ate more than I have since being ill. I figured about 1400 calories rather than the 800 I've been eating. I think I'm retaining fluid too. Oh, well!

Lene: You're now below your Aug start weight…yeah for the end of TOM! I am very proud of my baby (my 32-year-old baby). I also have a 31-year-old baby: my son. He's a personal trainer, and will soon begin his studies to be a paramedic. He's not MY PT (that would NOT work), although he has been very supportive of my weight loss journey and he gives me good advice.

Pixi & bg124: Congratulations on getting into the 240's...that's a great milestone! :carrot:

Jacqui: Way to go…hanging steady while on holidays. I hope you're really enjoying your time away!

wolfgirl: Even though you didn't show a loss, you're still down 3 lbs since the start of August, which is terrific. So, don't focus on last night's binge...just get back OP…you can do this!

GardenerJoy: It's nice you were able to eat your soy dish without penalty.

Cincorn: High sodium does put a damper on things. I hope the scales are kinder to you tomorrow.

BleuMaus, TrayTeam & Leah: Congrats on the continued losses!

LovelyLeah: hope your shopping trip was fun! I enjoyed new sizes. I didn't enjoy that my body stayed proportionally the same, so I had to accept that off-the-rack clothes are going to gap at the waist if they fit in the hips and thighs -- I had to work with my brain a bit to not let that make me feel fat even after I lost so much weight! I read a great book called Do I Look Fat in This? by Rhonda Britten that explained how clothes are designed for size models who are not very curvy because curves make clothes more expensive to construct. Clothes that don't fit my curvy body are the fault of the manufacturers, not my body.

wolfgirl69: What did you learn from your binge last night? Any guess on what triggered it? How can you prevent it next time?

Tuscany: I get worried when I lose weight too quickly, too. I think it's helpful to have some breaks in the downward trend for everything to adjust.

Garden I haven't gone yet, I go later today. My thing is I know what works for my body type, finding it is a different story. Flare/bellbottom pants haven't been "in-style" for ages but they perfectly balance out my hips and make my but look cute. I have longer legs as it is so they don't make me look squat either. Right now it's all skinny jeans, everywhere!! Uh...no!! They make my hips look huge and since I have cankles they are just plain uncomfortable. Bootcut is hit or miss on me, it all depends on where it hangs and where it drapes.

Pixi and bg124 WOOOH!!!! You're into the 40's, woohoo!!! Congrats!

Pixi Sodium can be a killer but at least it's not permanent weight gain.

Today I bought SIZE 10 PANTS!!!! Holy crap I didn't know that was possible! I grabbed my usual 14's and a couple of 12's just to test. Well I tried on a pair of 12's first and they were loose! I actually took them off and looked at the inner tag to make sure it wasn't labeled wrong. I went and got a pair of 10's and I almost cried because they fit so perfectly. Not too long ago I was wearing 16's and 18's.

Cincorn, Joy, and Pixikat, hang in there. That water will fall away before you know it!

Wolfgirl, maintaining is fine, especially if you ate a lot and late at night!

Turtle, good job on the scale! Don't know if the dreams are diet-related. I wouldn't be surprised.

Thanks, Tuscany! I'm having a great time! And your body is just finding a balance before it keeps losing. Some people don't believe one's body resets itself in weight loss, but I do.

Lene, you go, girl! 4 straight days of weight loss! Woohoo!

Tray, great job on another loss! And good for you in planning your weekend now! :cp:

Ugh...yesterday, over night i gained 2lbs...
Then the cramps started and the "you nees to eat everything in sight" started.
I didnt give into the binge... but i did go 90 cal over my limit. Ill live with that.
I am refuseing to weigh myself until next week, Monday.
If i keep seeing 179 I might get discouraged.

Since I did successfully hit 179, I get my goal prize, lazer tattoo fading. Since my prize for my ultimate goal is a new tattoo, i need to get it faded first. I saw the lazer doctor yesterday and Im excited. Makes me want to hit 160 even quicker

Also on a very random note... my kitchen sink STINKS!!! I think something is caught in the piping below....

:o I totally wiped out and fell down the stairs this morning. No worries I'm fine beyond the fact that I probably have a few bruises down my left hip and ankle and the back of my right wrist. It was actually best case scenario because I was carrying a large load of wash in my arms and because I couldn't see I missed the bottom step. We have a small landing at the bottom of main stairs that turns and goes down a couple more stairs. I pinballed off the wall with my wrist and was launched down the next couple of steps. Luckily I landed mostly on the large load of laundry which cushioned most of my fall. I also landed at a slight angle so I hit my hip and my flailing left foot hit the steps far behind me. All in all, no damage which is great considering tonight is my first day of work. More than anything I kinda wish the whole scene was recorded because I imagine it was quite comical.:o:lol:

Pixi I'm work at 5pm and I'm working at a Christmas store as an ornament personalizer. The store is in a really large mall with 2 food courts and lots of candy and chocolate stores. I'm challenging myself to see how long I can go without buying food there. I'm not counting the cheese store but that I plan on bringing home and because they have specialty cheese I can't find at normal grocery stores. But the idea is to not waste money and calories on pointless food. So I'm gonna have to do a lot of planning to make sure I bring enough healthy snacks as well as meals on longer days.

And good luck on your interview!

But the stores seem to push it forward a bit every year. Good luck with the food court! Maybe make it a habit to leave your money or card at home so it isn't even an option unless it is pre-planned?

Pixi I've had a similar experience but mine was the the worst interview of my life because it wasn't a minute in but 20 very awkward minutes. He was interviewing me for one position that started at 4am and I had applied for a completely different position to work in the evenings. Finally I just had to stop him and figure out what he was interviewing me for. It was such a relief when we both realized it was a mistake that my application got mixed in with his! So I had to eat out twice yesterday, which rarely happens. I managed to stay on plan with the double eat-out, so I'm proud of myself for that. I might drink water with lemon today. Has anyone tried that?

Leah - sorry about your tumble, that sucks, I'm glad it was only bruises. I know what you mean about wanting the initial phase of the job to be done. I like knowing where everything goes and when. Congrats on the skinny day! (but I bet that it is permanent :))

Tuscany - you are like a machine :) 4 lbs in 10 days incredible. I might change your name to "the robot".

Tray - awesome job. Gotta love those steady declines.

Pixi - Congrats on hitting the new decade! I love groupons, but I get so worried that I won't use them in time. Sorry about the interview. The same thing happened to me a few years ago only we didn't realize it until after I was hired. The ad was incorrect listing the hours wrong and no one mentioned it in the interviews (which was partly my fault). It turned into a giant mess.

lene - four days in a row losses! 160s.... :)

Jacqui - When I go on vacation next month, I'm going to use you as an inspiration. You kept on plan, exercised and as a result you are bordering onederland.

wolf - weight loss definately has its ups and downs, I just try to stay committed, and I know eventually the fat has to come off. Your down 3.8 in 9 days!!

cincorn - Chinese did the EXACT same thing to me, only I gained 1.4. ugh such a pain because I love chinese. I might have to try something with less sodium at one of my favorite restaurants. It should come off soon.

Gardenjoy - eating out is so hard, I feel like if you make the right calorie choices, you still have the bad sodium intake. Oh well, it happens.

Blue - congrats on the 170s! TOM stinks, stupid hormones. 90 cal over isn't bad and good job on not giving into the binge. Maybe try some white vinegar down the drain?

bg - TOM is such a pain. I get those falling dreams too. I've discovered that the closer I eat to going to bed, the worse my dreams/nighmares get. I had something right before I went to bed with the bugs dream. I guess its just one more reason not to eat late.

Hang in there Tray! Water weight doesn't count, lol!

I did not weigh myself today. We got up really early to travel (I'm back home now) and the exercise room with the scale was locked at that time. I am going to try to stay off the scale tomorrow since today is cheat day, but I find it really hard to keep away from the scale. It never upsets me if it reads more or stays the same since I figure it is all a part of the journey downward, so I don't know what the big deal is, why I feel so compelled to know my daily weight, but I can't seem to stay away from that dang little numbered thing, lol!

A 0.5 lb loss this morning...hehe. Pixi, I think you hit the nail on the head. I think this is a case of my past efforts finally showing up on the scales. My weight loss in the latter part of July was extremely slow and I'm finally seeing the benefits. Three weeks ago, I weighed 158.5 lbs. So, I've lost 5.75 lbs in 3 weeks, which is a bit less than 2 lbs a week. It's just that virtually all that loss has shown up in August and virtually none appeared in July, even though I've being following the same diet plan. I guess the moral of the story is you just have to keep plugging away...the scales will eventually co-operate.

Jacqui: I'm the same as you. I don't get upset if the scale stays the same or goes up, but I've got to step on it every morning! Welcome home and I'm glad you had a fun vacation. Ichabod is a sweetie! I have two furbabies...they're a lot of fun.

Pixi: I'll keep my fingers crossed that you're back in the 240's soon.

Leah: Way to go, Leah…welcome to the 150's! :carrot:

Well I seem to be moving in the right direction. The water with lemon was really good. I grabbed a couple basil leaves from my garden and added them with the lemon into a mason jar. It looked so pretty :) and was yummy. I might incorporate it into my routine.

Huh. I was sure I posted yesterday, but I guess not.

Now, I'm starting to get concerned about the wrong way the scale is moving. It wouldn't surprise me if my current plan is too generous to meet my current goals, but since I lost weight at the beginning of the month, I was hopeful. I'm going to give it the weekend, but if I don't get the whoosh I expected this morning, I'll tweak something on Monday.

I forgot to weigh before my run so the number is a bit off due to a 2 mile run and 2 bottles of water. I am logging just to keep up the habit.

Tuscany, Woohoo! It must be fun to step on the scales each morning this month! And I have 5 other furbabies, lol--2 more cats and 3 mastiffs!

Lol, Leah, he only looks stern in the pic. He is such a big lovey-dovey sweetheart baby! Great job on the weight loss!

Turtle, yay on the scale movement!

Joy, you'll probably do what Tuscany did--maintain for a bit and then lose steadily. I hope the numbers start moving for you soon!

Pixikat, good job staying on plan!

Well, I didn't do so badly for cheat day yesterday. Scale is showing only 1 lb up, so I'll take it! Hope to drop into the 100's soon!

I had a really bad weekend! Hubby and I celebrated our anniversary on Saturday with a yummy dinner and I didn't even try to hold back. Then on Sunday I decided to go to church for the first time since my biological father and grandmother passed away in March/April. We sang that hymn "How great thou art" and I lost it and stood there sobbing. I went to church by myself so at least my kids and DH didn't see me, but it was embarrassing. Later that day I ate pretty much whatever I wanted. I'm a huge emotional eater!

Today is a new day and I need to find my focus. I'm off work and my step-dad and mom are taking my kids for some quality time. I'm going to try to use this free time for 1) a nice long hard workout 2) meal planning 3) grocery shopping. My kids go back to school in 2 weeks so we are starting to set bedtimes and routines back in place tonight. That means I have to get my act together too, before all heck breaks loose with sports/school events.

Tuscany, another loss! Wahoo! Are you following a particular eating plan?

Wolfgirl, way to stay on track while traveling! You're doing super!

Pixi, great job on the 2 mile run!

Joy and Sum, I'm right where you are. I think we can still shake up the rest of this month if we refocus. Good luck!

Leah, August has been a great month for you, so far! Great job!

Jacqui, love your adorable cat!

Turtle, looks like the scale is going the right way!

Welcome Decapulet and Southernbelle!!

Have a great day!

Up more today, all I can do is keep reminding myself that even the day we ate out I was within maintence so I have to be paitent for my body to flush out. By the time that happens it'll be the weekend and we have plans to go out on fri or sat to celebrate DH's new job with part of his first check. *headdesk* After that I really need to break the habit of us picking up fast food 2 or 3 times a week. Hi All!!!

This weekend was FANTASTIC! Eating wise, not to much. So on Saturday we did some yard work and did some house work before my fiancée decided to make an AMAZING crab lunch with lobster bisque. So I deemed Saturday a cheat day. Then we went to go have a late dinner with a few friends of ours at Buffalo Wild Wings. Still, I got a salad. THEN me and my fiancée and shared and ice cream. Oh yeah, bad day for eating, great day for socializing. Its like a mathematical formula:

Great Socialization = Bad Food Decisions/Day
Great Food Decisions/Day = Moderate-Low Socialization

Anyway, yesterday we went to the beach. I packed myself tuna and celery and blueberries. Then we came back an bad a BBQ. I had a smart dog. two shots of vodka, some pasta salad and a 1/2 a chicken ad a slice of watermelon sherbet.

So when I stepped on the scale this morning, I was not expecting it to still read 179.2!!!! I almost fell over!! How could I jump from 176.2 to 179.2?? Im kind of upset because I wanted to hit 175 by the 15th. But weightloss isn't linear....

8/1: 180.6

8/6: 178.6
8/7: 177.8

@ Jacqui_D :
You kitty is SO cute! I wake up every morning to my kitty meowing & rolling around. And when I'm home I HAVE to pay attention to him or he starts trying to climb my leg (he cant jump because he had a neurological disorder)

@ Tuscany:
WTG on your loss! Your going in the right direction!!

@ lene1974:
I know that feeling of a good weekend and needing to refocus. That's exactly where I am right now. Is it easier to focus on yourself while your children are in school or while they are on summer vacation?

@ Pixicat:
Dot worry, for some reason the weekends are hard on everyone it seems. Pray to the scale gods to show the results

I'm not sure how today will go, I feel sick to my stomach and I haven't been sleeping much recently. I'll have to check if we still have some ginger tea. I know we still have ginger pills from when my parents went on a trip across Lake Superior. I'll try that but otherwise it might be a day spent curled up on the couch watching Netflix or spent on the deck in the sun reading a book. And hopefully a nap!

I think all the stress from last week has just caught up with my body and not being able to sleep hasn't helped much either.

Woohoo Tuscany! You are doing outstanding. Almost 5 lbs gone this month already!!! I think if I had to choose, I would like to have your scale. :) Having those 1/4-1/2 lb losses daily instead of a 1 lb loss every few days...It just shows that all the plugging away is actually going somewhere instead of sneaking up on you!

Daily Weighing = Patience patience patience!!! :dizzy:

Welcome new folks and welcome back to the vacationers!

I might drink water with lemon today. Has anyone tried that?

bg - TOM is such a pain. I get those falling dreams too. I've discovered that the closer I eat to going to bed, the worse my dreams/nighmares get. I had something right before I went to bed with the bugs dream. I guess its just one more reason not to eat late.

That is interesting. I usually don't eat before bed, but maybe it was one of those off plan days in the past. I don't remember having any weird dreams lately so you might be on to something. Mental note.

I have been on a lemon-a-day-in-my-water ritual. I don't know if it is helping anything or not. I know that it is making my teeth sensitive and my lips chapped. LOL There are supposed to be some health benefits to it from what I have read. Not sure how much of that is true. Good Vitamin C and potassium for sure. I didn't notice a big difference with it helping the water weight on TOM since I generally lose it on the 3rd day and that was the same thing that happened this time. I'm debating on buying another bag when these run out...it is a nice change from just regular water all the time.

Thanks bg! I think my secret is luck, lol!

I think it is YOU, not luck girlfriend! Great attitude and I hear you on the daily weighing. I look crazy in the morning moving my scale to different tiles expecting different numbers.

Have a great week everyone and hang in there! We are worth it!!!

Wolf :yay: Congrats on the weight loss and the decision to get your learner's permit!

Tuscany, look at you go! It's fun to watch your progress!

Turtle, good job! Keep it going!

Lene, bless your heart! I'm so proud of you for setting your mind today on getting back on track. And Happy Anniversary!

Pixikat, hang in there, girlie! And congrats on DH's new job!

Joy, woohoo! Glad to see you're losing again!

Bleu, don't get nervous about the weight gain after a cheat day. You could not possibly have eaten enough to gain 3 lbs! It's just water weight, probably due to sodium. It will be gone before you know it! And my kitty likes to wake me up in the morning too, usually with loud meowing and whiskers in my face, saying, "Feed me, feed me!" Lol!

Leah, wow! 5 lbs down?! Fantastic! Oh, but I hope you start feeling better soon and that your sleep pattern straightens out. You've had a lot going on lately.

Bg, you just made me laugh out loud! I do that scale trick too, not that it ever changes, lol! :lol3:

I've lost that cheat day pound and am back down to 200, so YAY! :carrot:

Lene: A belated Happy Anniversary, but I'm sorry to hear you were so upset by the recent passing of your father and grandmother. Don't be too hard on yourself…the weekend is past and you'll be back on track before you know it. As for my eating plan: no formal diet, but I'm on a very strict calorie count (1,200-1,300), no refined carbs/starches, high protein and otherwise healthy foods. So, lots of salmon/chicken, salads, veggies, fruit...and so far NO cheating (although that will change when I'm in Europe in September).

Jacqui: Way to go! I have my fingers crossed that you'll be in ONE-derland very soon!!

BleuMaus: I agree with Jacqui…the 3 lbs is not fat gain, it's just water weight. Just get back OP and the scales will co-operate soon.

Pixi: Yep…I think you'll do better if you skip the fast food...unless the fast food is for DH and you're just having a salad. But even then, you can probably make a much better salad yourself at home!

Gardener: Let's hope the kitchen scale does the trick.

Leah: Great weight loss trend, and I hope you're feeling better soon.

bg124: LOL…I think my more stable weight trend is a result of my age, not my scales. I no longer worry about TOM…so, I don't get too many fluctuations from being bloated every month.

wolfgirl: Congrats on losing while on your mini-vacation…great result!

Wolf - just a cautionary warning that I hope isn't true because I know you have been doing great. Take your grandfathers scale with a grain of salt, sometimes scales are calibrated differently and two scales can show different numbers for the same thing. That said, I hope it is dead on with your scale and you had a small woosh during your drive :)

Bleumaus I agree with the previous posters, it is water weight from the sodium and alcohol, it'll be gone in a couple days!

bg I LOVE lemon in my water, I am lazy and get the bottles of 100% lemon juice though, that way I don't have to worry about it going bad lol I have been eyeing this nifty water bottle though: http://zinganything.com/product/aquazinger

Jacqui OMG you will totally see Onderland in the next couple days, I am so excited for you!

Tuscany for us fast food is one of two things, subway, or a local pizza place that sells 6 inch and 10 inch pizzas made to order. I load mine up with veggies and either grilled chicken or turkey pepperoni and very little cheese. So both places is yummy fresh food easily within my plan, just the sodium is higher than what I eat at home.

I am kind of worried that instead of getting better our eating out habit will get worse, we found a local store that hosts board game night on Sat and D&D night on Wed (yes me and DH are huge geeks lol) I'm scared that on those nights it'll be too easy to just say screw it and order in food (which it seems many of the players on Sat did) or pick up something on the way. I need to come up with picnic type things to take that are yummy and filling.

Haha! I weighed 202 this morning! Who knows why? I didn't overeat, so apparently I ate something that has caused me to hold water. Oh well, my body will work it out. I still feel bloated tonight so I doubt tomorrow will be any better, but I'm sure I'll jump on that scale in the morning anyway! :dizzy:

Tuscany, ah, okay, the 13th must be responsible for my upward scale too, lol! :D

Welcome Leecpieces! What is your weight loss goal for the month of August?

Cincorn, if you are working out at the gym, it's possible you're not taking in enough daily calories. If your body thinks it doesn't have enough to operate, it's going to slow your metabolism down, working against your efforts. You might try raising your calories to 1500 and see if that jumpstarts your metabolism.

Yay, Joy! You're going to get there! You're on the move again!

Bleu, don't let the scale upset you! The human body naturally fluctuates. It's going to be okay! A month from now, you won't even remember this little blip of a stall. Look at how much weight you've lost overall. I wish I were where you are! Keep going, girl!

Thanks Pixikat. Onederland might be a few more days away now! As for your game night, plan, plan, plan!

Leah, if you figure out how not to indulge your worries, please share your secret! I am a worrier about so many things, and I have yet to be able to convince myself not to worry. (Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, the scale is not one of the things I really worry about.) Stress really does cause physical pain, so I hope you are able to find a way to relax.

Great going, Turtle! :cp:

Welcome back, Tray! I wondered where you were. Good job on the scale movement!

Apparently the 14th is also unlucky, as I saw another small gain this morning. My body is saying: "No, no, no. I don't want to say goodbye to these pounds. We've been friends for many years. They've always been happy little pounds, and I will miss them. I've said goodbye to too many pounds already. I'm hanging on to these last 28, no matter what." My mind replied: "Dream on body. These remaining 28 pounds will soon be history. Get used to it."

My mind WILL WIN!! :)

Jacqui: Sorry you saw 202...regrettably, sometimes the scale just has a mind of its own…love your attitude though!

Turtle: Glad to see your downward trend continues.

Joy: Hope you see "78.x" today!

Cincorn: I agree with Gardener. You can't look to a trend from a few days. Over the past 13 days, you've lost a little over 3 lbs, which is an average of 1.5 lbs per week, and that's a pretty good weight loss (especially at our age). I too eat 1,200 calories per day and I exercise for 1.5 hours minimum. I've gone for weeks not losing anything, but on average (since March) I've lost 1.5 lbs per week. That's all that counts.

BleuMaus: Once TOM is finished and you get back to eating OP, the scales will co-operate…hang in there!

Pixi: Good luck on your journey to below 250…I hope you see that again soon!

Leah: It seems your recent losses are sticking. I hope you feel better soon.

Tray: Welcome back…nice loss!

leecpieces: Welcome and good luck this month!

Good morning everyone!

The 14th is being semicooperative for me, back in the 240s but not back to my current low. I'm just taking that to mean that tomorrow I will have a NEW current low. Which should hopefully keep me on track today!

Tonight is d&d night, it only runs from 7-9 though so since dinner is usually at 730 or 8 I am going to take some string cheese and some fruit to tide me over until we get back.

bg I LOVE lemon in my water, I am lazy and get the bottles of 100% lemon juice though, that way I don't have to worry about it going bad lol I have been eyeing this nifty water bottle though: http://zinganything.com/product/aquazinger

Congrats Pixi on getting back into the 40s! I was debating using my enormous bottle of lemon juice that has never been opened once my fresh lemons are gone. I'm leery because I bought it at Sam's a year ago and the "best by" date is unreadable. I don't know how long this stuff is good? It would be nice to not have to deal with the seeds. That water bottle is totally nifty!!! Let us know how you like it, if you get it!

I'm back down to 200! :cp: Maybe I'll have a chance at Onederland this week after all! :crossed:

Tuscany, obviously, our bodies have their own way of doing things, and as long as we stay OP, it all turns out all right. You have such a great attitude and your mind will definitely win out!

Pixikat, yay! You've lost a whole pound from yesterday AND you're back in the 240's. Good for you!

Thanks bg! I agree that our bodies pause to make adjustments. I believe the experts who say that when we lose fat, our fat cells fill up with water as a temporary replacement as the body works on shrinking the cells, and eventually that water is flushed out. I'm not sure why we sometimes weigh more, like I did yesterday, but maybe my body held on to more water than needed, or maybe I didn't drink enough water to convince my body to flush out the excess, or maybe water weighs more than fat. I don't know. The important part is that I am losing fat and I know the scale will always show that eventually!

Leah, hang in there and I hope you feel well again soon!

212.6 this morning! Yay! I get frustrated when the scales get stuck or bounce up and down a lb. for several days, but it's true the long term picture is what's important. And I'm down 4 lb.s since the first of August, which is just 2 weeks! 4 lb.s in 2 weeks is great for me! I need 3 more to make my goal for the month! Feeling strong and capable this morning! :carrot:

Morning all

I have had a weird morning. Woke up alone and slightly lonely. My fiancée is away helping his sister move. I don't know if its my TOM that's making me feel super lonely or if its what is actually happening. Anyway, when I stepped on the scale this morning, it said 177.0. Its going down, but I'm not happy about it... I really was hoping to see 175 by the 15th

8/1: 180.6
8/2: 179.6

@ Tuscany:
LOL Thata Girl! You tell them fat cells who's boss!

@ pixikat :
Hope our D&D night is awesome! I am starting to dread having outing with friends cause I get the >_> looks when I order a salad or bring something really healthy.

@ Jacqui_D :
I never heard that before, that when we lose fat, our fat cells fill up with water as a temporary replacement as the body works on shrinking the cells... It makes a WHOLE lot of sense.

@ cincorn :
WTG!!! Glad you broke that wall

Bleu, it's a weight loss theory. I've dieted for years and I've read about this theory many times over the years. Some people disagree with it, but like you, I think it makes a lot of sense. I'm not sure what outside links we are allowed to post, so I will simply post a link to a 3FC thread that already contains a link to an article about it. http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/weight-loss-support/225225-waiting-whoosh-thread.html

TOM you little *******! Well that explains a lot... This my first month on a new BCP and I had no idea when to expect to get it because it's not as simple as my last one. My last one was only 2 colors, 21 no-period and 7 period pills. This pack has a different color for each week and goes in a circle and I'm not entirely sure I started in the right spot because the instructions were so vague. Well I guess as much as TOM sucks it's nice to have an explanation.

pnkrckpixikat
08-14-2013, 02:50 PM
Leah but it is always good to have an explination. That may explain your tiredness the other day too! I'll cross my fingers you don't bounce up too much and have a nice woosh down at the end :)

Bg crack it open and give it a try, worst that can happen is it'll taste funky and you throw it away! I'm not sure it really goes bad very easily though. I've carried little bottles around, left them in my car for day at a time in 100 degree heat etc. They start smelling stronger (sour-er i guess) but always tasted fine and never made me sick. (I think it just dehydrated the juice some so it was thicker)

Bleumaus you are flushing off that water fast, 2 lbs since yesterday! just keep it up, maybe you won't see it tomorrow but maybe the 16th! thats not too bad! Or maybe you will see it tomorrow if you flush another 2 lbs of water off again.

we are gaming with a whole new group, so I'm hoping if I set precedence now of our healthy habits we won't get too many strange looks later.

This months goal will be to get to 235 which is only a pound away but since the month started I have lost 5 lbs and one more will be greatly appreciated and just what I need to rev my motivation.

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE CONGRATS on MY NSV!!!

@PixiCat
I never asked how your DnD night went with the new group. I have a hard enough time to get my friends to play monopoly. Also congrats onkeeping your will power!!

@Tuscany
CONGRATS on the low weight of the century!!!!! Bet you feel great!!!!

@turtle
Im starting to think weight loss is like a ball bouncing down the stairs, not linear like we all want

@Jacqui
CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!! Wtg!!!!!!

@joy:
Wow!!!! Your doing so well!!!!!!

@bg
:carrot: CONGRATS!!!!!

@lene
I know!!! I gook outmy size 8's and just stared at them thinking "one day soon"!!!! I have this sweater i can't wait to get back into.

So I weighed in at 177.2 but im still on my size ten high. Today i had my first session of lazer tattoo removal and OMG!!!!! I have never felt such pain. It was so bad that i was getting that long black tunnel. I understand now what it means to see stars. Mind you my tattoo is about 10" between my shoulder blades. It honestly feels like someone is using a redhot iron poker on your back. Icame home and took a vicoden. The tech said the first session is the worst..... my LORD!!!!! Im going to post before and afters if anyone is intrested.

bleumaus D&D went well, it is run through the game shop nearby so it was only 2 hrs so I just ate some string cheese before going and had a water bottle so food wasn't an issue. It seems like a good group, we did character creation so we'll see how it goes once we are in the thick of things.

Yikes! It was really that painful?!?! You are making me nervous lol I have two tattoos I want to get fully removed (young and stupidly trusted a friend of a friend who was 'apprenticing') I would definitely love to see the before and afters once it is done, also lemme know if other sessions are as painful

SO much good news all around yesterday!

First and foremost, Congratulations to Jacqui for making it to ONE-derland. That's ONE-derful news and deserving of two carrots! :carrot: :carrot:

Congrats also to Gardener for finally seeing a "78" on the scale! I hope the scale begins every day this month with those numbers.

More congrats to Pixi for getting back into the 240's!

And last but never least, congratulations to bg124 for achieving August's goal already...good for you!!

Turtle: I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you and I both see a whoosh soon.

Lene: Welcome back! Gotta love your attitude…my fingers are crossed for a whoosh for you too. And, BTW, your closet sounds like mine!

Leah: No doubt your whoosh will come when TOM is finished. In the meantime you've seen great results so far this month.

Bleu: Glad you're still on a size 10 high. The tatoo removal sounds painful. I hope the next sessions are not as bad.

minoja75: Welcome and good luck with that last pesky pound…every pound counts!

So had something happened to me when I got to work, the girl who I work with that is a little over weight said she is going to join a gym. I said ok cool, good for you. I got my tattoo faded yesterday, she said she wants to do the same with hers....The copy-cat thing is really annoying. When I first started on my healthy diet, she tried joining in. I don't know what happened but she started eating chicken nuggets and mashed potatoes everyday and gained more than she had previously lost. Since she's much younger she copy's everything I do, but this gym thing kind of got me really annoyed. I don't quite know why. All I know is that I don't want her to go to my gym. I see her 8 hours a day, and she is really clingy, she wants to hang out with me ALL the time and I kinda just want to tell her to f*** off. But since I work with her I cant.

Thanks everyone!! And guess what? I woke up this morning and I've lost 2 more lbs!!! 2 whole lbs overnight! I moved my scale around 3 times to see if it would change, and every time it came up the same! I just can't believe it! Now, I fully expect to get stuck at 197 for a while. I believe 197 is a set point for my body, so I think it will take a while for it to work its way past that, but I am just so excited!

Thanks Turtle! I can't tell you how great it feels to be back in the 100's! Congrats on the scale movement! :dancer:

Woohoo on the 78-ish, a new low, Joy! :yay:

Bg, way to go on meeting this month's goal! :woohoo: I'm glad it's given you a new motivation to be mindful during vacation! Keep going!

Lene, your time is coming! I think I'm beginning to appreciate the stall, because I can see it brings good things once it lets go! :goodvibes:

Hang in there, Leah. That scale will get to moving soon!

Hi Minoja! :welcome: Good to have you! We're a chatty bunch, so jump right in!

Thanks for the dancing things, Pixikat, lol! They made me smile. Great job staying OP and moving that scale! :carrot:

Yay on the drop, Tray! :cp:

Wishing you a more bearable experience on that laser treatment, Bleu! As for your co-worker, I know that it can be bothersome not to feel like you can get away from work with her coming to your gym, and clingy personalities can be very annoying, but she must admire you a great deal, and maybe she doesn't have anyone else to serve as a positive role model in her life. Just take it as a compliment, and try not to let the idea of her copying you bother you.

Thanks for the carrots, Tuscany, lol! I have no doubt you will start that drop down again soon! :flow2:

Good morning!! Everyone seems to be doing great ot holding steady at the very least, congrats!

Today I am holding steady with yesterday's weight. DH's paycheck had some sort of snag, got mailed instead of direct deposited, so our cheat meal has been postponed until it comes so maybe I will see a new low over the weekend :)

Especially since my legs are KILLING me from my new body weight workout since my gym groupon expired. OMG i now remember why I avoid lunges (which means I NEED to be doing them not avoiding them lol)

Joy: You're two-thirds of your way to goal in only half the month…I'd say your goal is definitely achievable!

Pixi: Holding steady is good, just to ensure you're solidly in the 240's. Keep doing those lunges!

Leah: You're off on the downhill slopes again!

Cincorn: Hang in there…the scales will move again soon. Time to focus on the long-term trend again for now!

SouthernBell: Congrats on the record weekly weight loss! Good luck getting to a 6-8 pound loss by month end.

So we had Mexican last night to "celebrate" a good phone interview that I had. Those were my husband's words. I wonder if he is subconciously trying to sabotage me just slightly. The other day we were in Home Depot and three of the guys asked if I needed help, and no one asked him. Now I know I look totally clueless in there, but it kind-of made me giggle :) He was a little ticked.

So after staying on plan eating out Mexican, and starting a new level in my workout yesterday (I am sore this morning!!!) I'm up .4. I'm ok with that.

I have a brunch this morning, which might be harder than the Mexican because I love breakfast food. Luckily my shoulders are so sore that I doubt I'll be able to pick up my fork very many times. I'm having a love/hate relationship with Julian Micheals.

Still going to push for Monday!

Thanks so much for all of your kind words and kudos!

Lene, I bet all that running is really toning you up! Sorry to hear that the scale is being stubborn, but if you are measuring I bet you will really see the difference. All this patience is really going to make getting into the 60s something uber special, eh!

Leah, you are doing great!

Minoja, welcome aboard this bunch of losers! ;) Way to go on losing 5 lbs already!!!

Pixi, Great news about the new number! Sorry about the temporary gain. Yay for power walking! Starbucks = yum! Love their lattes and fraps.

TrayTeam: There are no SMALL drops! Congrats! Hopefully your soreness gets better.

BleuMas: I hate needles so I can't even imagine the pain getting or removing a tattoo. Hope it gets better!

Tuscany: Onward and Downward you go!!! Yay!

Go Joy go!

Turtle: Great job on the scale and exercise!

Jacqui: You are on quite the roll! I say that you just stick your tongue out at that old "set point" as you move on past it. :p

Cincorn: Maintaining the loss for 3 days is a good thing! I call that a win. Edited to add: Just saw your dropped .6 more. Congrats!
