February 2012: Stayed within my maintenance range. Did not go above. Still dealing with an allergic reaction.
March 2012: Stayed within my maintenance range.

July 2012: 4th of July/Birthday - Went a little above my maintenance range.
August 2012: Angio Edema diagnosis/shingles - went above my maintenance range
September 2012: Still struggled with the Angio Edema and medicine for it. Above my maintenance range.
October 2012: Got into my maintenance range. Weight went back up at the end of the month due to the fair and DH's Birthday
November 2012: Above my maintenance range, but still working on things.
December 2012: Above my maintenance range. Went on a cruise.
January 2013: January 1 weight: 164 January 31 weight: 158.6 Above my maintenance range. Thyroid meds still off. Have been since the Summer, but getting better, as per Endo. Lowest weight in January 157.8.
February 2013: February 1 weight: 159.2 February 28 weight: 159.6 I was above my maintenance range throughout the month. Still working on things with the angio edema. I'm still having flare ups but I "feel" like things are getting better.
March 2013: I started March 1 at 160 on March 31 I weighed in at 159.4. I basically maintained for the month. I am not happy about that but it is better than a gain. Lowest weight in March was 157.2. Still working toward 150.
April 2013: I started April 1 at 161 on April 31 I weighed in at 158.2. I had a loss of 2.8 pounds. I feel that I have continued to maintain since my weight has been up and down all month and I have not gotten down to this year's low of 157.2 in March. Still working toward 150. I started taking the antihistamine twice a day this month. I had a 2+ pound gain overnight at the beginning of the month and woke to my left eye being almost swollen shut. I feel better since starting back to taking the antihistamine twice a day.
May 2013: I started May 1 at 158.2, on May 31 I weighed 159.8. The 3rd week of the month I changed my antihistamine. I changed to 1 Allegra AM and 2 Benadryl in the PM.
June 2013: Dr. increased my Synthroid meds again. She also advised me to start doing some yoga since I am still dealing with stress and it has continued to have a negative affect on my thyroid. I started June 1 at 159.8 and June 30 weighed 158.8. I had another month of maintaining, although, my goal is to start losing again.

I am joining in and reclaiming control of my life. I had a biopsy done in April and in June, finally got back the results and it was nothing, so I feel like I shouldn't take this for granted and I must re-focus on my health. I put living on hold since late-January, when my doctor first informed me that there might be something wrong with me, now it's time to get over that and move forward.

Weighed in at 175 today ... again. This regain makes me SO boiling mad. It took me about a year to get these last 20 pounds off last time. I am sticking to my plan like glue right now and highly motivated but I wonder if I am mentally prepared for how long it's going to take to get back to where I want to be.

Peggy Hi :wave: Yep, I'm still here. I'm too hardheaded to give up. ;) The Dr. had to up my thyroid meds, again, last month since it was still off. Hopefully things will get back into sync one day. You are still doing great!

Good morning. :coffee: Weighed in at 174 this morning. Very glad to see it. I am so determined to lick this regain. It is still ticking me off. But I am starting to see my slim body return, the one I had a year ago.

I shouldn't have any trouble staying on plan today - it is usually manageable on weekdays, provided I stay away from binge triggers which (knock on wood) I have done by pure force of will for the past 6 weeks or so.

I have a little trepidation about the long weekend and about next weekend, which is my company retreat - a weekend-long party with much freely flowing booze, food, and pastries. I know what I have to do, I just need to muster the will to do it.

Thank you sluggerbean, I really appreciate your support.

How do you ladies deal with daily weight fluctuations? I know I need to keep track of my weight on a regular basis, or else I will simply go out of control as I have in the past, but I cannot comprehend how on Sunday I was at 250 and today, I'm at 253. I did not eat too much salt yesterday, so it can't all be water retention. I am baffled.

Martine, fluid weight fluctuations depend on a host of factors, some of which are within your control and some of which are not. Sodium intake is only one input; hydration, weather, hormones, exercise recovery, and others are also factors. You simply can't control it completely. The only way I know of to deal with it is just to wait it out, and try to take a longer term view. What matters is not whether I weigh less than I did yesterday or even than last week - do I weigh less than I did a month or two ago? That is the time scale on which you can measure fat loss, on which there is enough fat loss to not be masked by fluid fluctuations. It stinks, but it is how things are. Indeed I very rarely see week over week losses. But month over month I certainly do. I track every day only so that I can see these patterns and know not to be frustrated by them.

As for my report: I am sticking to my plan, doing okay, chipping away at this blasted regain. I am down to 173 this morning, a mixed blessing - glad to be making progress, but still so incredibly miffed at myself to be here again.

I have a 4-day weekend, nominally, but I also have a twice-yearly deadline at work coming next week, so I'm spending most of the weekend working. Just have to stick to my plan despite this.

Good luck and good strength, folks, and remember those holiday cookouts are nice but there is nothing served at them that you'll never get another chance to eat.

Martine I agree with Carter's post. There are so many variables, all you can do is go with the flow. Or how I look at it is not to take it personally. I have angioedeama. I can be 100% on plan and not even eat sodium or have TTOM and I can have a 2-3 pound gain. I have learned to just go with the flow. I keep track of my calories and work out. That's all I can do. I have just learned to have patience with the whole thing.

Good morning folks. :coffee:

A bounce up to 174 this morning. Not a huge surprise because it's been outrageously hot and humid. I can feel in my puffy fingers that my body is clinging to fluid for dear life.

I'm getting out of dodge for the day - early ferry to Martha's Vineyard. It should be a little cooler out there. It's supposed to reach up into the mid 90s here in town, and humid.

Stay cool and hydrated, folks, if you've got weather like mine today.

Just posted my first weekly gain since I started program 3+ months ago. I *may* have overindulged on the holiday yesterday. I couldn't resist the key lemon pie, and I don't regret it!

I just come back to this forum after a very loooooong break of not doing much (weight loss wise). Is it too late to join this challenge? I would like to see how much weight I can lose by the end of this month. I am very overweight and would like to lose 40 pounds by my 40th b-day (in September). Not sure if this is do-able but I would sure love to try.

Still holding at 172, same as the last few days. I am okay with that. I changed my exercise routine and it's going to take some adjusting to - I wouldn't be surprised to see a temporary gain in response to it, actually, though I would obviously prefer not to. :dizzy:

Crap, made it to my bonus goal for a single day, then had 2 dinners with friends this weekend and I popped up almost 2 lbs. Gonna work hard this week to get rid of that extra week. I am SO CLOSE!

Okay, I think I may be out for the month. My horse and I have been having disagreements as to whether or not I should stay in the saddle - after this last dump, my shoulders and legs are toast for a while. I am SO sore and covered in bruises, I had a feel-bad-for-myself-and-eat-too-much-pizza day on the weekend, so now I'm back in the 230s. It could be some water weight, could be the injuries. But still, blegh, not proud of that.

I will be running around the forest with a bunch of LARPers this weekend, though. Hopefully that will burn enough to get me back on track...

LaughingLagomorph falling from a horse sounds mighty painful, can't believe you'll be up to LARPing by this weekend, you sure are a fighter!

So we went away for a few days (I'm on vacation) and I haven't weighed myself, so tomorrow will tell me if I went overboard with the food intake. But we did a lot of walking, so I think I did ok.

One thing though that got me down is that with 100F temperatures, I could not bring myself to go swim (hotel pool or beach). I am so ashamed of my body, it's overwhelming. So I just sat by the water feeling truly awful about myself, while hubby was splashing around. What didn't help is that I overestimated my hiking abilities and couldn't complete all the hikes I had hoped to do. I just have a lot more work to do to get to where I want to be (sigh).
