Hi ladies, here it is! Peek, maybe you could list the challenges - I wasn't sure how to do that....

Faye - oh, I sure hope you get that job! You would be perfect for it!!

Michele - bet your flowers look nice. When my DH is gone, I use the time to do stuff he doesn't care for - like watch chick flicks, have our daughters do pedicures, etc. Hope you don't get too lonesome.

Missy - glad your throat is better, and see, Father Knows Best, lol.

Peek - the Daisy Scouts sound like so much fun! How many girls are there in your group? WOOHOO on the 4.5 pound loss!!!

Lori - Tell us more about your on-line love....

Deon - I haven't had heartburn for awhile now, and I sure don't miss it!! Hey, if you find that money tree, could I have a "start" of it for my own yard?

Sandy - Hope you are starting things out and feeling a little bit better.

Well, I have some extra time on my hands today. My sister was supposed to come in town, and didn't . My other sisters and I haven't seen her for a year so we miss her. My parents had 7 girls, no boys, and there are 5 of us left. All but the one live in the same area.

I have been totally OP. I quit doing the WATP due to the shin splints, but still have them, and have had them ever since I went to Disney World in May. So I don't know what's going on.....

TTFN,
Jana

Peek - good morning! You were posting your note while I was typing mine, lol. No problem about starting the thread. See you later!

Tuesday: The target for this Tuesday is attacking those things that stand in your way of weight loss, be it emotional or physical!
My target for this week is to try and control my eating from boredom better. I have to try hard and concentrate on keeping busy (one of those jobs would help! ) learn not to immediately grab for gratification when I am bored!

Sandy: You must think I am a total idiot! I guess I got you mixed up with a couple of the younger women here. I am very sorry for being so dense! As for you, you are strong and beautiful and courageous and can work through this. I can see it in your postings. The man is going to be sorry one day for what he is losing and then it will be too late. You hang tough and come here to let us be an ear for you! THIS IS NOT COMPLAINING BY THE WAY!

Deon: I am glad your hubby is on the road to recovery. As for the finances, as I once told my sister, take care of what you can and prioritize. If it comes down to the light bill over the Saks Fifth Avenue charge card or the payment on the Lexus, go with the light bill!   Seriously, you can only do what you can do and no more so do what you can and let go and let God! You still have me praying daily for you and for Sandy up there!

Peek: Eeekkk! Just thinking of letting kindergarteners alone for 2 seconds is scary! I assume that is about their age maybe 1st grade? They are creative little devils and can create right on your walls! No, I am sure that this group of girls are adorable little angels. Hey at least you WEAR jammies. We would not only be calling for another bus but an ambulance for John at my house as I DON't WEAR JAMMIES! Oh and yes, those are the chocolates I am talking about. The things literally melt in your mouth but are very very dangerous!

DH had to go for his recheck so I made him and I breakfast this morning together which was nice. Normally, he eats on the run or has a bowl of cereal. I would have to get up at 4 am to feed him :?: I may be a good wife, but not that good!

Jana: Good morning to you. Looks like you are keeping on your program pretty well these days! How is the mommy to be coming along and the twins?

Well, I need to get the bed made and over to the pool.

Good morning to all

I am one :tired: woman today! My dear best friend called me last night at 11:30. She knew I was home alone and that I don't sleep much. We were on the phone til 2:45 this morning!! She is such a sweetheart! She has to work today, too. I kept telling her that I was fine, that I didn't want to keep her up all night. We were like 2 teenage girls giggling the night away. She is in CA and I haven't seen her in ages, so it was a nice talk we had. We really had a chance to catch up. Her 2 kids were long in bed by then. By the way, her little boy's name is Evan, too, Peek.

Missy: How is that sore throat this morning? Did you try Faye's recipe? LOL!!! You know what, my best friend's hubby does the same thing with the vinegar. In fact, the minute he starts to feel sick with ANYTHING, he does that. And, he make his 2 sons do the same. It works for them. At any rate, I hope you are feeling better. Did you just have the sore throat or anything else going on? The sore throat can go hand in hand with the thyroid thing as well. Hope you can find out about that soon!

Faye:  about all the stuff your hubby used to bring home to you!! But, hey, you scored with the chocolates:) We have a Lindsor chocolate truffle outlet not too far from here, but I have only been there once. I like the raspberry ones. Yummy.

Lori: Haven't "met" you yet, here. Have I been missing your posts?? :sorry:

I share your love of the Girl Scout's thin mints. It is very dangerous to have those around in my house!! I have a candy recipe that I discovered where you mix crushed oreo cookies, chocolate chips, rice krispies and mint extract that actually tastes just like the cookies--even better. I make it every year at Christmas and that is my "thin mint" fix. yummy!!!

Where are you from, Lori? Are you on any plan like WW, or just doing your own thing--like me? Good to have you here;)

Deon: :yikes: The graduation sounds interesting, I am glad that you made it through the day without pulling your hair out! Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I am praying that your husband is feeling better in no time and can get back to work. I understand his fear of losing his job. It has to be pretty stressful for him right now :halfempty:

Sounds like you are determined not to gain back that weight!! It can happen so easily, unfortunately!! Stay strong :strong:

Gigglez: Wow, you sure have had some tough times. Good for you for having the courage to leave that first abusive relationship! You put your son first and that is great!! I agree. If he can hit you, what is to stop him from hitting your child. And even if he didn't it isn't the sort of environment you want to raise a child in. AND you deserve better. Hang in there, Sandy. We are all sending lots of :goodvibes: your way :grouphug:

Peek: Peekaboo, the bus driver saw you.....in your jammies, I am glad for you that it was a female, too!! I would have been mortified!

WAHOO on your 4.5 lb. weight loss!! :dancer: You guys are doing great!! Big pat on the back for you, Peek;) Keep up the excellent work!! :jig:

I guess my target for today is to just keep from bingeing as I am quite tired. I am moving like a :snail: today. I haven't worked out yet. I am not sure I have the energy to get a workout in. At least not my step aerobics which is quite intense. I might opt for a nice gentle walk instead!

I have been meaning to ask you all.....do you guys have pedometers?? I got one and I think it is an EXCELLENT way to gauge how much you are moving throughout the day!! You are supposed to get in at least 10,000 steps per day. Is this something you gals are interested in doing? Then we could get some goals going that include getting a certain amount of steps in per day. Just a thought. Mine was $25 at Olympia Sports in the mall. I know that seems like alot, but I figure my health is worth it!

It is beautiful and sunny today. Highs should be low 80's. I will TRY to get some work done outdoors today. I am sure I will get some more energy as the day goes on. I better get off this computer if I expect to accomplish ANYTHING today!

Have a great day peeps:) You are all doing amazingly well!!!

Hugs!

Michelle: You were posting while I was posting and we crossed in the mail so to speak! I rarely binge, but honey when I do, it is a binge to end all binges. You hang tough today and I know you will get past it. Hope you had a great gab fest with your friend!

The vinegar thing reminded me of the dad on My Big Fat Greek Wedding. He used Windex to heal everything! HEY, MISSY HAVE YOU TRIED WINDEX?

Well, enough nonsense from me! Better get things ready to get into the pool!

Hi,

I just got off the phone with my sister, and after much urging from her, I decided to go up to visit her since she can't be here.... I'm so excited about this!! My luggage is still warm from my last trip, lol. Take care and Keep OP!

I am stopping by again to report that even though I felt really wiped out, I MADE myself do the 2 mile WATP tape. No biggie, I know, but instead of copping out and using the "tired excuse", I gave myself a kick in the arse and just did it :cp: Yay for me!
:cb: :cb: :cb: :cb: :cb: :cb:

Jana: How long of a trip is it to your sister's house? Do you have to fly or drive? Have yourself a wonderful visit with her :balloons: You sound excited. It is nice when you get along with your siblings :)

Faye: That Windex thing in BFGW was a hoot  Do you know how many people tried it for real after that!!!

I hear you on the binge thing. Afterwards, you are like, what the heck just happened :faint: I am determined that there will be no overindulging for me today!! :nono: I already have my meals planned out, which is very helpful.

Have fun in the pool, Faye!! We are still working on opening ours up!! Wish I could join you:)

The 2 mile WATP works out to approximately 3,859 steps for me. I forgot to put my pedometer on first thing this morning, so I have some steps missing. Not to worry. I feel much more energized after working out, too, so the day is shaping up to be better than I thought it would :halffull:

Feeling :strong: Feeling energized :dancer:

Talk at you later girlies :grouphug:

BIG ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR MICHELLE TODAY! :cp: :cp: :cp: :cp: :cp: :cp: :cp: :cp: :cp: :cp: :cp: :cp:

btw: Michelle, it is TOO a big deal that you exercised. Anything no matter how small that we do to improve our health is a very big thing. Yeah for you!

The pool is starting to warm up, but of course it will now rain and cause it all to get cold again. It was nice and refreshing this morning, but you sure are pooped after your shower! We are finally getting into our seasonal weather of upper 80's so if the rain will hold off (we have had about 30 inches so far this year:fr: ) we will have some very nice swimming. Dh wants bath water to swim in. Men are such big wusses!

I just read on my internet site that the hunky Australian that played Mic Brumby on JAG and does those floor cleaning machine commercials committed suicide last night. He was only 37 and has 2 little boys. How very sad!

You guys all get your water in, your exercise, and proper food! See you on the flip side!

Faye:)

OK, since I can't go back to the stuff in the other post, I'm just gonna answer things that are here. This is all very confusing LOL.

I had a pretty good day yesterday, finished off with my pork and kraut (and btw, I forget who asked, but yes, I am half German, half Polish...weird combo, eh!!) and then...a piece of cheesecake!!!!!! I know, it was bad, I slapped my wrist, but I feel it's sorta a trade off because, I was feeling so sick yesterday (my throat eased up actually and I just had that spacey/woozy :faint: feeling), but I did my 2 mile WATP anyway...so the cheesecake was my reward. So I think that's ok. LOL

Today I'm doing pretty good as well. Feeling better, got some good old amoxycilin (sp?). Here's a funny story for you all....I absolutely HATE pills with a passion, so my mommy called and got me a prescription from the doctor and told them to get me the liquid amox. (which actually tastes good). Well she dropped it off for me at work so I could get some in ASAP, and instead of the little medicine cup, it came with this injector type thing designed for giving little kids meds!!! LOL...I guess they thought...hmmm no adult requests liquid meds. Oh well! I'm a child at heart!

My goal for the week will also be that boredom eating. I just get to the point where I'm like...SCREW THIS...gimme some junk!!! And then it's like :chockiss: :burger: :jeno: :cookie: gimme whatever you got! Like the cheesecake, but I'm trying to learn the group mentality and that it's not a failure...it's just me having a little treat. I did stay quite OP yesterday, so I think that shows me something. Right? I do have quite the taste for sweet stuff though. I'm back to the 1.5g fat Graham Crackers as a snack. For 2 full sheets it's pretty good. But I know how you feel Faye, once i get home and I'm watching TV it's so hard to resist the snacks! But, I'll snack well if I must and cut out snacking all together where I can. So yay me.

Now for my replies to the posts...thanks to all for your well wishes!! I really appreciate them. And all the suggestions. Now granted I never got to try that yummy sounding sore throat cure..but next time, when it gets really bad, I definitely will! LOL

Peek ~ Congrats on your loss!!! You must be on :cloud9: ...and where is peek BTW...has she not found her way over yet. Come back peek!!!

Jana ~ You are so right. I'm glad that someone else uses this saltwater cure though. I was beginning to think he was a little off his rocker! :dizzy: Hope that you have a safe and fun visit to your sis's!

Faye ~ I have NOT tried Windex as my cure all...LOL...I think i'll deal with the sore throat. I can only imagine the number of idiots who HAVE started using windex for that after they saw it in a movie! :fr:

Michelle ~ I didn't know that sore throats run with thyroid...I have had an awful lot of them in my lifetime...so maybe that explains something. I talked to a woman here at work yesterday, turns out she has hypothyroidism and said from her opinion sounds like what I have too. I'm just wondering though because at my first blood test, the doctor said it was 'slightly underactive,' and I'm wondering, would I feel SOOO tired from only "slightly"? But I guess that's what the second test is for...only 8 more days until that. So I guess we will see. :halfempty:

I don't have a pedometer, but have been considering getting one. Do you think it's worth it? I mean do you feel that it motivates you a little more? Also, I'm just curious...you said your 2 mile WATP tape was like 3,800 steps...I was talking to someone before...someone who annoyed me!!! And he said, "How can you walk 2 miles in your home?" So I explained WATP and then he said, "Well a mile is 5,280 steps...do you walk 2X that?" And it's kinda a good point, cause I don't think I do. But I'm still glad I'm moving and stuff. But does anyone know what Leslie bases her 1,2,3 mile estimations on? Is that b/c arm and leg movements add to that step count...or? But a BIG congrats on working out...I know it was difficult for me to get through Leslie yesterday! Or as she says LESlie. LOL

Lori ~ I think I was missing your posts too! :o Sorry! Welcome though and glad to see you stopped by!

Good afternoon to all!

Deon--hang in there, you are loved! Let the chips fall where they may; don't stress too much--you've come too far already. :grouphug:

Michelle--GREAT JOB!!! You go girl!!!!:strong:

Peek--I got to love a person that can be in a room with a group of five year olds and not go insane! Anyway, congrats on the 4.5 pound loss! :cp:

For everyone else that don't know me, I am a 41 year old single gal located in McKeesport, PA, about 13 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. I have two very spoiled cats, Tigger, 5, and Noah, 3, that I had taken in as strays. I also model part time and freelance as a journalist, in addition to being a Mediation Panel member for the Pittsburgh Mediation Center, a program that decides on the appropriate channels on a case-by-case basis for juveniles convicted of first time, non-violent offenses. I also volunteer for one of the local no-kill animal shelters.

As for my plan, I am currently on a 1500 calorie American Diabetes Association-endorsed plan, but it works for anyone--it's more common sense than anything else. I also do a lot of walking when the weather is nice, as well as a 30 minute general workout daily (though I went 45 minutes yesterday), and 100 tummy crunches and butt lifts each morning. In addition, I also use Fitday.com to record my daily food intake and activity for each day; it keeps me honest and focused on my goals. On August 25, I have an appointment for an initial consultation with a weight loss surgeon that came highly recommended by my PCP.

My peak weight as of March 1, 2003 was 351 pounds :yikes: ; I am currently at 316 pounds--I'll do my weekly weigh in tomorrow, so that may change :D however slightly.

Hmmm....now who asked about Brian, my online love? Well, he is 24 years old, 5'8, 180 pounds, with a mop of blond hair and pale blue eyes (Funny thing is, I usually go for the tall, dark haired ones  ). He is currently studying pharmacy, and for the summer working as a lifeguard (and strips for private parties  ). He's got a killer sense of humor and is very sensitive....not to mention a killer butt :s: ! He's rolling into town this weekend.

For my goal today; I will ask myself before I eat anything "off limits":

*Do I really need this?

*Am I really hungry or is there another reason I need to eat?

*What can I do that would be better?

*Am I eating to live, or living to eat?

*How much activity is required of me to burn this off?

Missy, I started reading your second post and began to laugh to myself saying "did I not just read this?" I had to scroll back up and look?:) about going back to the past thread, alls you have to do is see up top here on your browser where it says FILE? hit that then hit New and then window and it will open a second window to the exact spot you are at and you can use that second window to go back and look at stuff while your posting on the first window. Does that make sence? A lady from another thread taught me that trick and I use it often.

Jana: To put the other stuff up you just have to copy and paste the first post of the thread. Took me a long time to figure it out? I'm a blonde what can I say?

Lori: Do you know if this new guy you've met on the net is for real? Have you talked to him other than on the computer? I would hate for you to get hurt. Please take caution and meet in a public place, you just never know now-a-days. There are some real crazies out there. Don't mean to burst your bubble, and I hope all works out for you, just looking at it from a different angle I guess? I trusted someone once on the net and got burned big time, now I tend to be very caustious of people. Guess it hurt when I got burned. But good luck to you with it. Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow too.

Michelle: I'm with Faye :cp: :cp: :cp: :cp: :cp: :cp: round of applause for you and your exercise!!! I have still yet to do mine today.

Faye: Hope the pool was nice to you today?

Well when it rains it seems to poor. I told you all the bus thing this morning. Well then I get showered/dressed to go visit with my hubbys grandma (long story, she has alzhimers and dimensia) anyway then after I leave there I go visit my newest neice she is 2 weeks old....what a cutie, then I go in to town to get a few things at the store and come home, I'm not sitted down for 5 minutes and the phone rings and Alexis is at school sick. So, back in the car a back to town to get the girl. So, on my day off when I like to make zero trips to town I have made 2 already:mad: . A moms job is never done....

Now, I am gonna go make meatballs for supper, Waki-weekie or something like that....kinda like a sweet and sour type thing.

Tootles,
PEEK

Peek: Waki weekie meatballs? Okey dokey! Sounds like something Don Ho's wife might make! Do you know who Don Ho is or is my joke completely lost?

Missy: Ok, take it easy on the old lady, she thought she was seeing things! lol Just kidding. Have done it before myself. I can just see you with that little baby syringe like a little bird......

Lori: Nice to see you here. Our only rule is NO COMPLAINING! We are here for encouragement and comfort, but I didn't want everyone sitting around having pity parties. Problems we can solve! As for online romance, I am with Peek. Be careful. Not everything is always as it seems.

Well, I just came upstairs to check my e-mail. I need to finish up my laundry and get it put away before dh gets home. He may need someone to take care of his bug bites.........:s: Hey, old does not mean DEAD!:p

OK ladies, sorry for that second post mixup...just trying to keep ya'll on your toes!

Lori ~ Let me first say nice to meet you! I too am from PA, Reading if you ever heard of that. It's about an hour west of Philly. "The Outlet Capital of the World." And home of the Reading Railroad from Monopoly! :) Anyway, just wanted to say that your tips are AWESOME!!! I am headed over to fitday for that food diary right after I post! I just need someone to review it and yell at me when I stray now, LOL. I have a question for ya too...I was interested in doing freelance journalism myself and was wondering if you could offer me some tips on how to get started in the biz? I currently work in advertising, but I'm looking to expand my portfolio and such and I do have an english BA, so...that should be worth something! :)

Faye ~ I Know who Don Ho is, so I'm thinking that Peek will too. Then again I do have an uncanny knowledge of "old-school" stuff. I am a Frank Sinatra convert even. My dad's endless hours of records, tapes and now CDs (YAY Dad for moving into the 21st century!!!) has gotten me used to old blue eyes.

My parents are on the older side, which can be good and bad. My Dad is...69 and my mom is 66, kinda old for a 25 year old, but...hey, why not? :) My mom is proof that a woman can have a c hild in her 40's and she'll turn out (mostly) normal. But I worry sometimes that they won't be around for my "milestones" like they were for my sister. That's why I gotta whip em into shape and keep on em. ;) hahahah!

Anywho...I'm back to work, today is a bear of a day. Blech!

Love you girls!

Faye: :joker:  hahaha, yes I know who Don is....you crack me up. And the waki weeki (I'm sure it's spelled wrong) meatballs are basically just your regular old meatball recipe smothered in some homemade sweet and sour sauce. Lip smaking good. They smell scrumptious, can't wait for dinner.

Afternoon Gals! I see that posting continues to be steady!

Faye: 30" of rain so far! :yikes: That's alot. Guess you don't have to worry about drought.

I saw that about that actor on Jag. Very sad indeed:(

Missy:  about your little kiddy medicine!! At least you like the taste of it :T:

Sounds like we all share the boredom eating. Such a hard habit to break!

In answer to your question, I do think that pedometers are worth it. They really help you to see if you are getting enough movement in. Often times, we THINK we are getting all kinds of activity in and it isn't what we think. Kinda like underestimating our food intake! It is also fun to see if you can add on to what your normal activity level is. I do not know exactly how Leslie comes up with how far a distance her walks are. But, with a pedometer, everyone is going to be different. That is why you have to program your height, weight, and stride length into it. You can set it to calculate miles or steps. Mine is on steps as I wanted to go by what the recommendation is, which is 10,000 steps per day. I figure that is easiest. Don't let that guy make you feel like your workout is not valuable or worthwhile!! These tapes are supposed to be 15 minute miles, which is very good. ANY workout is good, so just ignore him and focus on your goals;)

Lori: Thanks for telling us a bit about yourself:) My avator is a picture of my very spoiled cat, It is hard NOT to spoil them, isn't it!!

Sounds like you have a busy life going. How long have you done modeling? Do you enjoy it??

I am going to check out the Fitday site you mentioned. I post alot in my journal with the 3fc site, but I would like to check out Fitday to see what that is all about as well.

You are doing awesome with losing!! Down 35 lbs. since March!! Way to go :dancer: You should be proud of yourself:)

Peek: I agree with you about being careful with people online. Unfortunately, I have been burned too many times by people who turn out to be nut jobs, :s: I can't believe how many mean people there are in this world with some serious problems!! Seriously. It blows me away.

I am sorry about your husband's grandmother. My grandmother passed away 3 years ago next month. She also had alzheimer's. It was a very hard time for our family. I was very close to my grandmother growing up. She started getting the first symptoms when we were teenagers. She went for quite some time with it. I was surprised. She, of course, didn't know any of us--not even my dad, her son--when she went. So sad  I miss her alot. Does she know your hubby, or anyone else anymore?

How is Alexis feeling?? I hope she is better now! And I hope that YOU don't catch it!!

Enjoy your meatballs :dizzy:

My day's eats so far:

breakfast:

1 cup decaf coffee, black
1 pkg. cinnamon instant oatmeal

lunch:

turkey sandwich with lettuce, green pepper, onion, tomato, pickle, lowfat swiss and mayo
lime seltzer water

peach

glass of low sodium v-8 juice

And as always, lots of water

It is just me, so I am having a frozen mac & cheese dinner tonight. That will be my indulgence for the day.

Enjoy the evening everyone!

Hugs :grouphug:

The best sweet and sour meatballs I have ever had are so incredibly easy it is sinful. You buy the frozen meatballs, in a crockpot you combine a jar of grape jelly and a jar of chili sauce and cook until jelly is "melted" then stir in your meatballs and let them cook for at least a couple hours. I have made them for every event (graduations, birthday parties etc) and they always end up getting eaten. It sounds gross, but I guarantee you everyone will want the recipe. The first time I tried them I thought my sister was loose a screw when she told me what was in them.

I feel redeemed now that my younger compadres know who Don Ho is. By the way Michelle, I have a girlfriend who is an only child and her mom had her in her middle to late 40's. Her dad on the day she was born bought her mom a rose. Every year until his death about 5 years ago she got a bouquet of roses on my girlfriend's birthday, the number being my girlfriend's age! Isn't that cool!

Now as to music, this old chick LOVES swing music especially Glenn Miller. I am also a huge fan of Neil Diamond, Frank Valli and the Four Seasons, B J Thomas, BB King (hey you have to be where I live!), Tom Jones, Patsy Cline, and Glen Campbell. How do you like that for eclectic? My husband thinks I am nuts, but what does he know. His idea of music excitement is Lorretta Lynn! I also love gospel music, but the old stuff not that new garbage that sounds like INSYNC wannabes.

Well, dh is doing supper so I guess I should go down and see if he needs any help.

Hey Faye: Don't knock your hubby loving music by Lorretta Lynn!!! I love her, and I love......Patsy Cline, George Jones, Hank Williams Sr and Jr, Johnny Paycheck, and the list goes on, as well as a lot of the current stars, my favorite music is Country!!! I do like Gospil and classical though when I am in the mood. I also like the what they call old rock now, you know from the 80's...

Just wanted to jump in on the music topic and say that I LOVE Neil Diamond, Faye!! I went to his concert when I was 18 or 19 with a group of friends. Wow! Does he ever put on a great show :dizzy: I like alot of different types and artists, but my favorite is Celine Dion. You either love her or hate her, but I adore her. She has such a beautiful voice. The latest cd that I bought was Kelly Clarkson's....you know, American Idol winner. I admit it! I watched it and she has a fabulous voice. This is the first season's winner. I really like her cd. Just about every song, which is surprising.

Peek: I am a fan of 80's rock as well. But, we grew up with that, so not surprising :smug: REO Speedwagon, Def Leopard, Queen, Led Zepplin, etc., etc......brings back memories........ :spin:

Hi again all!

Aww that is so sweet that you all are worried about me meeting Brian :) . Heaven knows, I've come across a lot of crazies in my lifetime; therefore, I insisted on phone conversations before meeting. Needless to say, I had some giant phone bills for a while  And for meeting, I am going to meet him at Greater Pitt Airport--and he will be staying at a hotel about a mile from where I live (I have a rule of no one I don't know well staying at the house)--such a little gentleman :)

Anyway, as for getting started in freelancing, I just started by contacting local news stations and printed media, either by email, telephone and/or letter of proposal with samples of my work. Usually when one or two of my articles got out, I was able to build a better resume.

Oh cats are easy to spoil; my little furchildren have their very own website (http://pages.ivillage.com/loranden/tiggerandnoah) Sometimes I think they eat better than I do!

Hi girls,
I've got just a minute to post. I have to get my butt to work and make sure that everything to my knowledge is in order. I have to meet with the accountant again today to go over the books to start the new company. If I make it through this change over with my boss I will make it through anything. I love her dearly, but sometimes I wonder where her brain is? Oh well, I only work there....

Food was okay yesterday, I don't think I blew it too bad, I did have a no-no snack, but well today is a new day and thats how I will treat it.

I hope you all are waking to a beutiful day. Today we are to have sun and thunder showers? So far it's beautiful out.
I'm off now, I hope to check in later after my meetings.

Hugs,
PEEK

WEDNESDAY: Wednesday is our woe day. Anybody having difficulties or a need to spout off, today is the day

I think my woe today is trying to deal with people that are discouragers instead of encouragers. They tell you what you should do, they map it all out for you, you always seem to be doing the wrong things, etc. For example, I would tell them about my water aerobics and what I am doing they tell you what you are doing wrong, how to do it better, that you should increase it, whatever. I have someone in mind about this, but it is a case where I can't tell this person to mind their own business because of what they would do and it would be detrimental to me personally. That is why this site is SOOOO important. I want a place to come to knowing that not only what I do but others do counts for the good! You gals are great at encouraging!

Peek: All I can say God help me if 80's music is OLD rock n roll! Our oldies channel here was replaced by this black gospel channel and it was the only one in this huge metropolitan area. It is either black music, country, or the new stuff. That's it period! I found a channel, but it is another state and so it kind of comes in and then doesn't in the car and I can't get it in the house at all! I am not a fan of today's country music though I like Martina Mcbride a lot. I have been a fan of Steve Wariner (he is from my home state for one thing) and years ago he had a hit called "Kansas City Lights" about a sailor out to sea that really made me a fan. He is one great guitar player. I like harmony music so the older country groups like the Statlers I like because I sing harmony with them. I am one of those grew up singing in church girls and so I sing all the time! I also whistle! Drives people nuts, but dh God Bless him, never says a word.

Michelle: It amazes me that Neil Diamond still sells out, but I have yet to be able to get tickets to any concert and that is trying a few months in advance. Celine Dion has a beautiful voice and her music is nice.

My problem is if you listen to the new music, everyone sounds alike. All the boy groups like INSYNC and the like, girls like Miss show every piece of skin I have Brittany, there is nothing new about any of them. I did an experiment when we went on vacation and would listen to one song on the radio in the car and scan to the next station. I kept finding they ALL had the same basic beat to their song over and over. Something distinctive (without the filth) would be nice to hear.

I had a worse than lousy program day yesterday so probably gained a lb. Happens sometimes, and I never worry about it. Just have to get back up and get with it today.

I hate getting up this early, makes the day so darn long! More chances to jump off the ole program! I probably should clean house again today so maybe I will do that.

I will talk to everyone later!

Faye:)

Hey girlies,
How are all my sexy, hot ladies doing today???

I'm OK. LOL After an intro like that, you'd t hink I'd be bursting with enthusiasm. But I kinda disappointed myself last night. I had a SUPER OP day...stayed on lik 1400 cal and such, did my walking and EVERYTHING, then after I had my dessert (3 sliced nectarines)...for some reason, the freakin' cheesecake in my freezer made me eat it!!! GRRRR!!!! I felt really bad about it afterwards and really guilty, which is exactly what I don't want to do. I don't know why I ate it, no I lie, I DO know why I ate it...and it's because I told myself I couldn't! :( I know today is a new day, but I'm just really annoyed with myself for that, ya know? But otherwise, I did awesome yesterday...1400cal for a whole day seems pretty good to me. I really like that fitday website, it was cool...and like I said, I'll focus on the positives and I sneaked a peek at my weight this AM and was at 144lbs. so I did lose, but call me crazy, I t hink it'll be back on by tonight. :( Oh well. NEW DAY, NEW DAY, NEW DAY...LOL

Later gators,
Missy

OK thought...I was just logging stuff on fitday and I think something is fishy with that site. I added tea and it said tea has like 780 calories. OK maybe that's accurate (and sweetened with sugar)..but seems high. Then I checked thin crust cheese pizza and it says it has 11 calories. There is NO way pizza has that few calories, I know it's not that bad for you and all, but...I don't think I buy that!

Lori, do you have similar experiences? Other things seemed really off to me as well about this site..I'm not quite sure.

Yes...when I started using Fitday, I got the same strange totals, then realized what was happening--the default measurements were going on my totals; all I had to do was either change to the exact (or near exact) measurement that I ate/drank, and if it wasn't on there, I put in "No measurement specified" and clicked "Save Changes" Then I got a more realistic reading on what I ate that day.

The same happened with the activity--no way could I have burned 30 calories for a 30 minute walk:lol: --turns out I had to go back and type in the actual minutes and click Save Changes again.

Fitday can be goofy at first, but once one figures it out, it can be a lifesaver!

Yesterday, I only ate 1177 calories--but it felt like more than that and I wasn't starving like I have in the past!:D

 Hi there my lovies, I see I did not miss to much today. Are we all having a lax day from the computer?

I did great with the accountant, only needed to change like 3 things and that was it. **sighs relief**

But, I was so busy all day with other stuff. Finally 2:00 came and my day was ended!!! I ran in the store picked a few things up, seems like I'm always at the store. We are always running out of milk or bread or something. Now, I'm home all comfy in my computer chair (actually, if I can get this damned bra off and let the babies loose I will be all comfy!!) Did I make you laugh???? I hate wearing a bra when I'm home, and if I know I'm not having company off that baby comes!!! Hubby loves it....;) .

My eatting is going great sofar, but gosh that bag of chips is just calling my name??? It would be okay if I could just eat a serving and not almost the whole darn bag.

I had the same problems with fitday and have only used it a couple of times, I'm headed over there later to maybe check it out.

Oh pooh, the kids just got home and I can't take my bra off cause we have Family night for Kindergarten tonight at 6:30. thats my woe of the day....:D

Peek

Lori ~ well I tried doing the serving and what not adjustments at fitday...still doesn't seem right. Like I said that seems like an AWFUL lot for tea and pizza...but maybe it's just a wakeup call for my caloric intake. Still a cool site.

Peek ~ OMG I feel exactly the same way about the bra situation, I feel your pain.

OH well, I'm off for pizza night...2 slices of cheese for me! And I'm walking to get it and walking back. LOL So It's the pizza diet...ala Jared and his Subway diet.

BRALESS WOMEN OF THE WORLD UNITE!!!!!! I am with you girls! I hate the darn things. I have lost a couple sizes so now instead of "big girl" bras, I am finally able to get into pretty ones, but the darn things had to be invented by MEN!

Sorry I haven't posted today much but have been pretty busy. I did my 45 in the pool, cleaned my upstairs and got the laundry done and then got a letter in the mail that practically knocked me out! This girl and I have been friends since 7th grade and for me that would be uhhhhhhhh, 36 years! She has been through two very ugly ugly marriages one with a man that did dispicable things to her and the second was mentally ill and hid it well for awhile until she found his lithium and when she did he decided not to take it anymore. He was a REAL nut case. She is an adorable woman, is an only child and has taken care of her elderly parents her whole life. The letter's first sentence was you better sit down, followed by I'm getting married. This man is in her church, she has known him for over 2 years and I guess is just wonderful. She desperately wants me to come to the wedding and so I begged dh. He gave in easily but I am telling her we can't come and then going to surprise her. I am calling her daughter tomorrow to let her know that we are coming. It will be nice because she lives where my sister, son, and friends live so we can get a short visit in. I have been working all afternoon on pet kennel appts, hotel reservations and the like.

Tomorrow is Time for Us Thursday so try and get in an hour or so to yourself tomorrow.

You ladies have a lovely lovely evening and I will check in tomorrow morning

Faye:)

I am finally able to access the web! I typed up a whole post yesterday morning and it wouldn't go through. The rest of the day, I could not access the web. I think AOL was having some problems. Anyone else have AOL?? How frustrating. :stress:

Faye: When is your friend's wedding? Great idea  about surprising her!! Lots of best wishes for her this time around! Sounds like she has had her share of misery and deserves some happiness!

Peek:  about the whole braless issue!! You can add me to the list. I absolutely HATE to wear bras!!! I am "free" as much as possible :o:

Missy: Don't stress over your no so excellent choices. We all mess up. Just gotta make up for it today by eating nice and healthy and maybe even adding a few extra minutes to your workout to try and make up for it :halffull:

Lori: I checked out your kittie's page....cute cats! They must feel very special having their own page devoted to them:)

What are everyone's plans for Father's Day this weekend? Every year, the whole family has a big bbq by the river up near my parents' house. Weather permitting. Hopefully, we won't get rained out :rain:

I need to think about what to get my mom for a birthday gift. I will be going to Father's Day loaded down with gifts for everyone at this rate, lol! I have a grad gift for my cousin, one for his giflfriend, my father's day gift for my dad, birthday gift for my sister, will have a birthday gift for my mom and my grandmother! This is the month for events. I also had to get wedding presents for 2 friends of mine who got married, plus a father's day gift for my father-in-law. I think that does it for me for a while....I hope!!! So.....what to get my mom :chin:
:gift:

Deon and Gigglez:  Hope you 2 are doing well and hanging in!

Have a great OP day today, ladies. We are :strong: :barbell: We can do this!!!
