New here, just out of curiosity how many calories are you eating, whats your workout and how have you done?
I know everyones different and we all have different requirements but its quite interesting to see the range everyone manages!
I'm doing approx 1300 calories a day with one day every two weeks at 2000 calories (not for a "cheat day" as such but i like to go out for dinner with my husband and i've given up worrying too much about the calories)
I am doing 30ds but been off it for a few days due to a lil bit of a slump. I started out at a high weight of 182lbs (i think) am now 166.6lbs 10lbs of which i've lost in the last four weeks.
Good question. Though as you already know you're going to get a ton of different answers and things that have worked well for other people won't work for you.
I'm 5'7 and I started off at 211 pounds. I randomly set my calories at 1650 and stuck with that for about 4 months. In that time I lost 26 pounds and did hardly any exercise. After that I fluctuated between 1400 and 1500 for about 3 months. I lost about 13 pounds during that time and started introducing exercise, mainly running, about a month into that time period.
I am currently starting a lifting program where the emphasis is to eat more especially on days when you lift. I'm not going to listen very well to that advice as my goal is to net 1530 calories, however every day I do exercise I eat back those calorie.
Wow changegirl you've done really well!! I'm experiencing a bit of a motivation slump with the exercise at the moment, I know it will help but I'm feeling a bit lazy at the moment.
Did you change up your calories when your weight loss slowed?
I eat about 1,500 when in weight loss mode, 2,000 to maintain. My rate of loss may vary, but if I continue to eat 1,500/day over several weeks and months I always lose weight. Eating any less than that makes me grumpy and overly focused on food.
Quick question, i have two trips abroad coming up, one to go home to visit family end of july and then a proper holiday in september, do you find droping calories in the week or two before and after vacations helps to stabalise your weight? We moved to a dry country so trips home and abroad inevitably involve a bit of booze, bit worried as i do tend to pack on the pounds when i leave the country! I am planning to be a lot more mindful this time round!
I hear ya freelancemomma,
do you find droping calories in the week or two before and after vacations helps to stabalise your weight?
After a vacation, definitely. Before the trip... I generally don't have the drive to reduce my calories preemptively. I always tell myself that I won't indulge during the vacation, and I'm always wrong!
i try to stay around 1500, but i have appetite issues so its usually much lower.
i don't exercise though i know i should, i'm simply unmotivated, idk how to fix that
but by just counting calories i lost 25 pounds
Lol yeah i've been trying to convince myself that i wont be installing myself in the nearest pub when i go home, plus my mother in law is an amazing cook, my husband and i STUFF ourselves when we visit. Lets not even start on my holiday holiday....
Everyone seems to be doing really well!!
Alyssa, is it because your appetite has reduced due to calorie counting? I'm another reluctant exerciser! Managed a couple of weeks of 30ds and then during my TOM i slacked off the past week, tomorrow i will get my backside in gear!

no, i've had this issue for years where for 2-3 days a week, usually 2 weeks out of the month, i can't eat properly. just the smell of food has made me throw up. for some reason, it's been getting worse. i talked to my pharmacist, and they said a couple of my medications could be causing it, so i'm looking into getting my medication changed.
Oh dear, i'm Sorry to hear that Alyssa, sounds quite upsetting, is your doctor aware? Those are quite extreme side effects!!
Thanks for the posts everyone!
I don't have a doctor yet, I JUST bought Health Insurance and I have to get the card in the mail before I can find a doctor. I also have to get an MRI and a Heart Monitor, so I do have quite a few issues I need to see a doctor for, and the lack of appetite will be dealt with quickly.
I eat between 2300-2400 calories a day. I should be eating around 1,800-1,900, but I am breastfeeding, so I add an additional 500 calories. I run 3x a week and do a kettle bell routine 3x a week.
