Hello everyone and happy Thursday to you all! Cool and rainy day here today but it is an inside day for me so not too bad. I think they are calling for a fairly nice weekend but you just never know because it seems like the weather forecast changes by the minute.

All is still going fairly smoothly here at Puppy Central - they need more room to run and play during the day so I need to go this weekend and check out puppy playpens that will allow them to run around and play but still stay contained. :dizzy:

I hope that everyone is having a great day and staying healthy!

06-06-2013, 06:08 PM
Hi turtles

Hope you are all doing great

This weekend is ribfest (annual thing) and that will be my biggest challenge
over the weekend. If I go to trailer (raining now) I will be on my own since
dd & her bf are heading to his cottage. Planning on eating right & walking
so hoping weather allows.

Got in 2 walks this week and tonight have a dinner to attend, so am
missing my Tops weigh in.

All - good luck at the scales!

06-06-2013, 09:30 PM
Hi Turtles,
Play pens for puppies!! Sounds like a plan. So cute. I saw them on Facebook and they are so sweet.

Ribfest sounds great. I haven't had ribs in ages. Glad you got in a couple of walks this week, Bandit. Enjoy the weekend.

My WW leader said something that helped me. Lots of people were complaining with all the social events and extra eating made this month "hard". She said, "You know what? Being overweight is hard. The feeling that you get when your jeans don't fit is hard. What it does to your head is hard." That took me back and made me want to think more carefully about what I'm eating. My dd and I pushed the stroller and baby up to the local deli at noon today. Not a long walk, but at least it was an effort. While there I thought of the best low calorie thing to buy and I avoided the high calorie foods. So, today has been good so far. I'd like to finish out the night without anything else. Maybe a cup of tea would work if I get really hungry.

Sending :goodvibes: to everyone. Good luck to us all!

Hi turtles

Judy - yes, aren't those puppies just the cutest things? Look so cuddly, want to just give them a big hug. I love what your WW said & how true is that. Really a good thing for us to keep in mind. Great you got in a walk and are mindful of all the things that will help on your weight loss. Good for you!

My dinner was lovely & I had 1 wine and skipped dessert, so that was OK

My dd & her bf cut my big hedge at the front down today, so that is going to save me lots of work this summer. It will eventually grow back, but hopefully will be more even & look nicer then. One less summer chore!

All - lets have a great Friday!

06-07-2013, 10:41 AM
Hi Turtles,
I'm ready for a great Friday. thanks Bandit! Glad dd and bf cut down that hedge. My dh and I are trying to think of ways to minimize our yardwork too. Glad the kids helped out.

Tomorrow we'll celebrate my older dd's :hb: with the bunch of us. It should be a nice time. My younger dd is bringing the "birthday cake" which will be cupcakes per the birthday girl's request. I've got a simple menu and I'll practice portion control. Today is rainy which will be a good day to get some indoor things done. Did I mention I am converting photo slides to digital? It is amazing to look over all these slides and remember all the good times my family and I have had. I've converted almost 2000 of them and am closing in on the last 1/4 of the batch. Whew! I am also looking for a simple crochet project to do.

Have a great weekend and chat soon. I want to remember that although giving up snacking or grabbing foods that won't do me any good is hard....the way I feel about myself being this overweight is harder. I guess that's the other way of saying nothing tastes as good as being thin feels.
Just another way of looking at it.
Take care. Be well.

Nice to read everyones comments. All the kids are sick and I have had a fever off an on for 5 days and coughing. I am just turtlin on and trying to keep heading forward. Hope everyone keeps up the good work.

06-09-2013, 01:53 PM
Okay Cherry, feel better soon and :goodvibes: that the kids get well real fast.

I had a nice :hb: with the kids and their spouses who live on LI. My dd was happy and we all had a few laughs which is great.

Food was good, could have been even better, today is definitely on the right track.

Sending :bravo: to all of us to keep on keepin' on!

Morning turtles

Great weekend, lots of yard work done both places & my legs/butt are sore
from bending over which I guess was good exercise.
Lots of rain next 2 days, so will do indoor work. Ribfest was super yummy & lots of calories but I skipped the alcohol which I am sure helped.

Judy - glad you enjoyed your celebrations
Cherry - glad to see you posting & hope your family gets well soon.
Princess - how was your weekend?

So, new week ladies lets get at it and do our best

06-10-2013, 03:20 PM
Hello Everyone and Happy Monday!

Busy and long weekend here... I went in for a proceedure on Friday and all went well with that, the prep was pretty aweful but I heard that is normal for Colonoscopy's. All went well and although mine was very early in the day and I got home here by lunch time I took the rest of the day off and just did a few things around the house but rested for a large part of the day. Saturday and Sunday was very busy with puppies, errands, cleaning out the garage and cycle class which I did my best time and distance in a long time so felt very good about that.

Went to W/I on Saturday and was down 2.2 lbs so was happy about that and will work hard to keep that going. Got lots of salad fixins and fruit at the grocery store this weekend so the house is stocked with good things. DH went with me and had not been in a while, he had not been following the plan either - at all - so I think that he was very dissappointed when he stepped on the scale but the good part is that he went... I just hope he get serious as health and a good solid life is our over all goal and the weight loss is part of that but not eating right and no exercise is not a good way to be at all and I worry... but we can not do it for each other, it has to be our effort and choice.

Judy: Bravo on your dd birthday and you making it thru it all! Fantastic!

Bandit: You made some very good choices also! Great Job! Yeah I have been looking at our yard wondering what can be cut way back to make life easier... DH does not like to do yard work and while I don't mind there are only so many hours in a day to get it all done. Ribfest sounds fun! We have one here but I have never been - maybe that is a good thing! LOL!

Cherry: Oh Summer illnesses are not fun... best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Life: How are you doing? Tried any new recipes lately?

06-12-2013, 09:03 AM
Good Morning Everyone and Happy Wednesday! Half way thru the week... lovely! Was able to mow the grass yesterday after work so that is done for the week but lots of other outside chores are waiting... ugh, never seems to be an end to the "To-Do" list!

Hope everyone is having a fantastic week and eating as healthy as they can and get some exercise in.

I am heading to a cycle class today after work - while i like traveling down to the Zumba class that my DS's girlfriend goes too it is a 30+ minute drive for not that great of a work out when the class is so large... I will hit my gym and cycle class instead and save the gas money I think.

Have a great day!

Morning turtles

Nice & sunny up here today, which is nice seeing we have had lots of rain.

I made a yummy recipe last night called Buffalo Cauliflower Bites &
so easy and very tasty. Good low carb side dish for sure.

I go to my Tops PRD tomorrow & will be there 2 nights, so that should be a fun getaway. It is always so motivating and inpsirational to see all these people who have been successful on their weight loss journey. One of the ladies from my chapter is graduating to KOPS and another was PRD queen last year who will be passing over the crown. And it is always fun sharing rooms, staying up late and getting to know each other better.

Been pretty good this week & have kept night time snacking under better control.

All - hope you are also having a sunny day!

06-13-2013, 05:16 AM
Hey everyone. I am doing good. I need to cut back on my fast food stops. Its not showing on the scale but my bank account is not happy. Still adjusting to working a straight Mon thru Fri schedule. Some days I miss my 12 hrs other days not soo much. So I am still loosing. Yes I finally did have a little shopping trip and it added up quickly. Umm nothing new to report around here.

I am looking for a gym though. I need to get back too cooking though. Does any use have the active link thing from WW i have been eyeing it but I am wondering if it is even worth it.

For some reason my bp has been slightly elevated and i am not sure if it is because i scratched my eye and that is healing or my body is acting crazy. Lets just say I am keeping a close eye on it. Hope everyone has a good day.

Will try to check in on a regualr basis. Excuse the errors typing without glasses or contacts. LOL.

06-13-2013, 11:21 AM
Good morning everyone and happy Thursday! Rainy and stormy here, huge storms with hail and high winds came thru last night and this morning, but it is supposed to dry out later today so looking forward to that.

Went to Cycle class last night and got in another 70 minutes and 21 kilometers so felt really good... it is really helping me to manage a lot of personal stress that i have right now, not sure what I would do with out it to be honest.

I have TOPS tonight and WW on Saturday so we will see how it did this week... the scale is not really doing anything here at home - hoping that is not the case when I offically W/I on Saturday.

Life: I have looked at the link also but have not gotten it... for me the WW membership and my gym membership is about it for my budget but I do hear people in the meeting room talking about it and it seems to be well liked.

Bandit: Your TOPS chapter is doing so fantastic and you must be so proud! Enjoy your time at the get-away, I am sure you will learn lots of good things and come back ready to go!

Judy: How are you and your family doing? I think the storms and rain that we have had here are heading your way out there... :(

I have to run but have a great day all!

06-14-2013, 08:26 PM
Hi Turtles,
So glad to see you are all contributing here and working hard at a good solid lifestyle. Love that phrase you used, Princess.

Things not quite as crazy as before, but still busy. Part of me thinks that is just life.

food good. Scale good. Can't wait to get back to where I was so I can feel as though I'm making real progress.

Life, hope your eye is better soon.

Princess, a colonoscopy isn't much fun, but it's important so I'm glad you did it.

Bandit, I'd love to know how you made the cauliflower bites. :chef:

Okay, gotta run but I'll be checking back in soon.
234.6/200/determined to be back in onederland!

06-15-2013, 05:15 AM
Princess yeah they gym isn't exactly in my budget right now so I might try the active link. I know I walk a lot at work.

Itry thanks it is better. I have realized there is something about my job that sets off my allergy sinuses. So I have to wean myself off fast food again not good for my budget. Hope everyone has A good weekend.

06-15-2013, 01:44 PM
Hi Turtles,
Real fast. I've been cooking some WW style side dishes for the BBQ tomorrow. My dh loves to grill, so he's doing the main part.
For dessert I have carved and peeled a watermelon in the shape of a cake.
I plan to leave a rim along the top of the melon and fill it with kiwi slices and blackberries for the "icing". My friend make a fabulous cake for another of our friends. She sliced strawberries into the gal's name, etc. Oh, I'm not that patient or talented, but this will be fun and different.

Okay, gotta run. Dd and grandkids are here. I just wanted to check in to say hello and wish everyone well. We can do this!

Good Morning everyone and happy Sunday to you all!

We are having a lunch here at the house today to celebrate the day - I am picking up a bucket of grilled chicken from KFC and made some potato salad and a couple of other sides along with a soda pop cake so as long as I eat reasonable portions I should be ok.

Went to WW yesterday for my W/I and had stayed the same as the previous week so I will take that and keep working the program. I am heading to a cycle class this morning and then will run home to get ready for lunch.

Judy: I am very ready to be back in onederland again too... I hate being as heavy as I have let myself get again... and each time it is harder and harder to get it off... ugh, when will I learn.

Bandit: Hope your weekend is going great!

Life: I hear yah, staying on a healthy budget is as important as watching what we eat... it all has to work together!

Cherry: hope you are feeling better!

06-18-2013, 08:00 PM
Stopping by to say hi and :goodvibes: to everyone! Have a great day.

06-20-2013, 11:17 AM
Hi turtles

My Tops PRD convention was once again, great & so proud of our chapter members who have accomplished so much. It was also fun to get away with the ladies & have some girl time with some motivating talks.
I had funeral to deal with yesterday, so glad that is over (friend of mine wife who was ill for several years) and leading up to that visting & luncheons.
So between being away for a few days & this, my food plan has not been great.
But its a new day, so will just get back to it.

Princess - glad the scale did not go up!

Judy - your cake sounds delicious and very low cal & perfect for hot summer days.

The cauliflower bites were really good & super easy.

Preheat oven to 450
Chop head of cauliflower into florets. Mix 1 cup flour with 1 cup water & 2 tsp garlic powder to make batter. Dip florets in batter & place on sprayed cookie sheet & bake at 450 for 20 minutes (turn halfway) then cover with sauce which was 3/4 cup Franks hot sauce mixed with 1 tsp of melted butter
and bake for another 5 minutes.
Thats it - looks like chicken wings when finished.

Having some ladies up to trailer for dinner & sleepover Friday, so looking forward to that.

Nice sunny day up here today, so loving it!

All - have a great OP day!

06-20-2013, 11:51 AM
Hi Turtles,
Bandit, thanks for the cauliflower recipe. :chef: It'll be great for this summer while we wait for the main course. Enjoy your weekend with friends. I've had a couple of funerals and it's sad and gets my mind in the wrong place.

Princess, love seeing your dogs on facebook.

Life, did you decide to do the activity link with WW's? I bought a Fitbit and haven't even unwrapped it yet. Ugh and Lol. Not really my thing, but I'm looking for a way to get this weight off.

Bought some WW snacks at my meeting yesterday. I plan on eating as close to Simply Filling/Core as I can and then have one WW snack a day to count in as points plus. I know that will work. Have started a bad habit of eating nuts for no reason (dh needs them in the house) and it sets me back.
Today is beautiful here and I plan to get a lot done.

Talk soon!
Hi to all the Turtles, Cherry and Terri and the gals we've met along the way.

06-24-2013, 07:34 PM
Hello everyone and happy Monday! Busy weekend and while I got my cycling in I did over eat - was very hungry! Guess I need to increase my protein !!

Just wanted to stop by for a quick hello - will log on the Computer tomorrow and get caught up!

06-24-2013, 10:06 PM
Hi turtles

Great weekend getting together with the ladies & didn't do too bad
foodwise, stayed away from the bread & limited the alcohol, so hope that helps. Had a few big salads which were very tasty.

Bought another cauliflower on way home after bowling, so will be making another batch of the cauliflower bites this week.

Very hot up here, but don't like to complain since are summers are short & at least it is not snowing.

So here's to a good week at the scales for everyone!

06-26-2013, 02:14 PM
Hi Turtles,
Went to my WW mtg. this morning, but didn't WI. I had a good week after a lot of splurging that sent my weight sky-rocketing. Knocked off lots of the quick gain weight. Today will be another good day.

Read a good book you might like. It's called Plainsong by Haruf. It's not a new book, but it's a good one.

Good to see you chiming in here. Bandit, glad you had a good weekend.
Yep, I know what you mean about the heat/snow issue. Lol. I should be outside weeding. Maybe I will. I've got a cauliflower sitting in my fridge waiting to be turned into bites. That would be fun to do. Thanks for the recipe.

Princess, I go through those times of being super hungry and it's tough to deal with. Sometimes I'll have a night snack because I don't want to wake up hungry in the middle of the night.

Okay Turtles, have a great day and enjoy the sun.

06-27-2013, 10:27 AM
Hello everyone and happy Thursday to you! We are warm and muggy here with lots of rain showers moving thru, sunny one minute and raining the next... ugh. Supposed to cool down a bit though so we will see how the weekend turns out... I have lots of yard work that needs my attention so I am hoping that even if it is hot that maybe it won't rain so that I can get that done on Saturday

I went to WI on Saturday and was down 1.0 lb so things are moving along for me although I have over ate this week due to some stress so I need to correct that quickly. Cycling three times a week has helped a lot to get me back on track and I am feeling a bit of difference in my clothing so although I might not always see the change on the scale it is happening slowly but surely and I am really trying to make this about being healthy this time around instead of all about the number on the scale. I would feel so much better if I carried less weight, my knee would get a break and my back and neck problems might improve... so it all comes back to weighing less but I try to focus on the bigger picture.

Super busy at work and home right now so I will get on when I can and am sending you all best wishes for a great week and weekend!

Judy: Thanks for the book title! So glad you are getting off the extra weight, I know that has to make you feel great!

Bandit: I need to try the cauliflower recipe... that will come in very handy with the upcoming July 4th holiday down here... thank you!

Life: Hope you are doing well!

Cherry: Hope things are back to normal for you!

06-27-2013, 02:25 PM
Hi everyone

Cooling down abit, so thankful for that. I hope with it being long weekend, the weather is good. Either way, going to my trailer - so looking foward to that. Made the caul bites again Tues night & have leftovers to go with dinner tonight. I hope you like these - I think for a low point side dish, these are great.

Tops tonight and hoping to be down some this week. Overall, I have been pretty good. Always room for improvement, but feel good this week.
Just really need to get some regular exercise, that has not been happening.

All - have a great weekend!

06-28-2013, 04:13 PM
Hello everyone and happy Friday to you all - It has been a very very long week again! The weekend weather is calling for rain now... what a difference a day makes in the weather report around here... geez! I have a ton of yard work to do also before the holiday so will really need to figure it out!

I went to TOPS last night but had a turtle so nothing new there.

The hubs is going away on a fishing trip this weekend and I have lots of errands to run etc so it will be busy for me. Really hoping to get a nap in somewhere also - puppy exhaustion is catching up with me!

Bandit: Looking forward to trying you recipe - maybe this weekend I will!

Judy: Any plans for the 4th for you and your family this year?

06-29-2013, 11:20 AM
Hi Turtles,
Just as fast as it is to fall off track, that's how fast I came back OP. Days have been good. I made lite French toast this morning for breakfast and topped it with blueberries. Delish.

As far as the fourth, every year our nephew has a family party, so we'll all go. We'll end up at my daughter's where her neighborhood has a great fireworks display. I really love fireworks. Hangover from a kid, I guess, but I think they are magical. I'm bringing frosting free cupcakes to the party as well as a more fattening dessert. My dh watches his sugar, so this is a good plan.

Princess, I hope you get all the stuff done you want to. :goodvibes: I've been outside weeding every day for only 15 min. I actually bring a timer with me. It's not fun, but then I hop in the pool and that's great. The weird thing is that a daily 15min. is enough to make a difference. We are thinking of what we want to do with the backyard and we're making plans. Trying to make it pretty with low/no maintenance. I think we'll figure it out.

Bandit, I hope your WI was good and that you're pleased. :goodscale:

234.6/199/180's and thinner

06-30-2013, 03:40 PM
Hi Turtles,
Bandit, I want to tell you that I just made your Cauliflower Bites and my family and I loved them. They like to eat healthy and thought this was tops.
Thanks for the recipe.

Grandson and new granddaughter here while dd and dsil are out shopping for a bit. Gotta run and enjoy, but wanted to mention this.

07-02-2013, 12:29 PM
Hi ladies - great weekend up here (extra long for me with having Fri off and then Monday for our Canada Day) W/I was good - down 2# so happy with that.

Judy - glad you liked the caul bites!

Princess - hope you are doing great as well.

All - have a great week and enjoy your upcoming holiday!

07-02-2013, 09:50 PM
Hi Turtles,
Bandit, weigh to go. Proves you can have a great weekend of fun and still lose weight!! :goodscale: :bravo: :chef:  :cheer:

Yay!. keep up the good work. My WW WI is tomorrow and I'm hopeful.

07-03-2013, 06:02 PM
Hi turtles,
I weighed in at my WW mtg. this morning and I did it! I broke 200# again.
these last two weeks I had been swaying back and forth so I didn't WI.
In reality I only lost .2# since my last official WI, but it feels really good to be on the right side of onederland.

Sending :goodvibes: and :bravo: and  to us all. Enjoy the fourth and glad our Canadian friends had a nice long weekend last week!

07-03-2013, 10:46 PM
Hi Turtles:

Judy - congratulations! That is awesome - so exciting to see our weight start with a 1. Keep up the good work.

I have been doing pretty good lately foodwise, so that is an improvement.
But still lacking in REGULAR exercise. I am on holidays next week, so will plan
on getting in regular walks/swim at my trailer. No excuse - it is lovely walking alongside the lake & through the park.

Princess - how are you doing?

Terri/Cherry - You have been missing on these boards for a long time.
I think of Terri often, since she is really not too far from me & we share
same weather conditions.

All - think positive, plan ahead and enjoy all your successes.

My strategy lately has been to make the best choice when faced with challenging foods & I think that has helped me lately.

Have a great 4th of July!!!

07-03-2013, 11:25 PM
Bandit, thanks for the cheer. It feels great to be in onederland. Like you, I'm trying to moderate what I eat. When I overeat during the day without meaning to, I compensate by having oatmeal with berries for dinner. It's working out. Nice and low in points and filling.

Okay. Everybody have a good fourth. I am bringing desserts and have to think of a good one that is low cal.

07-04-2013, 03:56 AM
Hey everyone no I haven't tried active link yet. My eating has been pretty bad not enough of the right kind of food. Which I have man work due I keep putting off. On another note the job is going great. I work on the 4th but at least it is holiday pay. Hope everyone is well

07-05-2013, 11:58 AM
Hi Turtles,
Yesterday's BBQ at our nephew's turned out great foodwise. My dd and dniece both brought fruit and raw veggies so I avoided the appetizers that could do real harm and then waited for a burger. Had slivers of desserts---probably the calories were still high but no where near where they would have been. All in all a good day and the fireworks were great.

Life, you are doing so great with your weight loss. You must feel really good.
Glad your job is doing well and I know you'll stock up with the healthy foods to have on hand.

Best to everyone this weekend. We are doing this! My ds and family may be coming for a long weekend with us. I hope they do.

Okay, have a great one and onward and downward everyone!!!

07-07-2013, 07:39 PM
Hello Everyone and Happy Sunday!

Busy weekend - I did not go to W/I on Saturday but I know that the scale is up - last week was not good for eating for me and I missed a cycle class. DH and I went out for date night last night and I had a salad and then fish, I know that the sauce, etc most likely made it high points but it was very good and I was hungry so I ate - we skipped appetizers and dessert since we went to a movie afterwards and I did have some popcorn.... so this week it is back to eating right and getting to my cycle classes.

Congrats to Judy! I am thrilled for you!

Bandit - hope you are doing well - are you able to get out for walks now?

Life: I did not do the active link either but good luck to you if you do!

07-08-2013, 08:58 AM
Hi Gals
Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts! Yes Bandit I think of you too! We are practically neighbors!

I am still holding on at the moment sometimes it seems barely!!! I was depressed at christmas, I am taking medication feeling better most of the time, had surgery in April was off work 6 weeks, started walking a bit then. Just very discouraged about my weight cant find anything that works for me!!! I have got moving again, My eating has been out of control, I am going to watch calories this week and see how that goes, I still have gym membership (havent been) I have a bike too!I rode yesterday for 20 min!!

So still keeping at it!!!

07-08-2013, 11:36 AM
HI Turtles,
Terri, so glad to hear from you. You are in our thoughts all the time.
Sorry about the past trials, but now you can try anything. Even though I've been on this WW site, I've tried many different "diets" to help me in my weight struggle. If points plus isn't working for you, here's a simple plan:
Count out 14 pennies. As you eat 100 calories (we all pretty much know the caloric count of most foods), move a penny to a new pile. When the pennies are gone, the food is over for the day. Very simple. I've tried it and it's a good way to get a "plan" going. After a bit of time you can morph into something you like more. With me, it's the motivation to start and the motivation to keep going. You can do this. Turtles, any other idea?

The other way to go is to do whatever worked the best one baby step at a time. or fake it till you make it. Avoid poor food choices, plan and prepare, have the good foods in the house. i would avoid eating out because it's tough for me. At work do you pack your lunch? Oh Terri, you can do this.

Turtles, my ds and kids came out for a nice long weekend. We had brutal heat here, so the pool came in handy. We BBQ'ed and had a really good time. My grandkids are older now, and it's fun to have them to talk to.
Gotta run............they're still here.
Hoping for a good WI.

07-08-2013, 12:24 PM
Hi turtles

Nice to see all the posts & glad to see some of our missing turtles are back with us.
Judy - love the penny idea, so simple & even seeing the pennies would work as a reminder of why we have them. Great idea!
Princess - yes, I can walk again just have to make myself get into a regular routine. Glad you liked the movie, seeing it next week!
Terri - sorry to hear about your health issues and hope you can get into a routine that works for you. I have weeks that are pretty good, drop a few pounds, then get easily sidetracked and get out of control easily.
Lately I have just been trying to make the "better choice" with food and try to tell myself that the treats I am skipping will still be available another time.

I went to bbq Sat evening and took this dish, that I will share since so many people asked me about it. So easy and looks really nice. Low carb/high fibre dish that keeps for a few days.

1 can black beans rinsed, 1 red/green/orange pepper cut into small pieces
2 mangoes chopped - mix all this together
Dressing: 1/3 cup italian dressing, 1 mangoe (blended together - I used magic bullet) Pour over salad & serve.

I am on holidays this week and getting my hair cut today, then heading to trailer for a few days. A few friends with be coming & going, but for the most part I will be in control of my food & no excuse not to walk & swim.

All - have a great week.

Hey everyone. So I am still workin in making better food choices. I have just been really drained. Which is a sign that my anemia is not doing well. Still haven't made it to get my lab work done the whole eating after midnight thing.

Umm forgot who was having health issues but hopefully they work themselves out.

Okay going to bed goodnight.

Hey Girls

Judy love the penny idea! I like simple!!!

Bandit I have been making better choices also, remember when we were kids it was a rare occasion "a special treat" to go to a restaurant or have a Saturday something special, we are a totally overindulgent society!!! We need to get back to basics, there was very little obesity then. We ate at home fruit veg meats potaotes!!

Anyway thanks for listening!!!

Hello everyone and happy Sunday to you all! WEnt to W/I yesterday and was very dissappointed - second weigh in that I have gained... 2.0 lbs each time. I have really been over eating and need to get that under control. so that I my goal, continue with my exercise and stay within my points...

Terri: Totally agree with you! We have become a society of instant gratification and it shows in sooo many way.

Bandit: Hope you are enjoying your time at the lake!

Judy: How are you doing? Any visitors this weekend?

Life: I hope that you are doing well and finding sometime for yourself!

Hi turtles

As Terri posted, we are definately in a heatwave up here. My friend gave me a window air conditioner that we put in upstairs bedroom, so that helps for sleeping. I have never had a/c in my house & usually there are maybe 3 nights per summer I can't sleep upstairs, but have 2 bedrooms on main floor that are usually OK for sleeping. Anyway, just trying to stay cool & on track which has been hard. Holidays last week, so missed w/i - will go Thurs evening to Tops. Seen movie The Heat which was very funny (lots of swearing but strange not too offensive)

All - stay cool & on track!

Hello everyone and happy Friday to you all! I did not make it to TOPS last night as the Puppies had a vet visit complete with shots, etc so was busy with that but will make it to WW tomorrow for W/I and the meeting...

Lots going on this week at home and i have not been feeling great so I did not make it to cycle class on Wednesday and am not sure about tonight yet - not sure if I am comin down with something or what... oh well will do what I can.

Bandit: I agree about "The Heat" was a fun move to go see and the language was not too bad. I want to see Red 2 also - loved the first one!

Judy: How are things with you? Hope you are enjoying you summer so far and staying safe in the heat.

Life: How are you doing? did you decide on the active link?

Terri: Any plans for the weekend? Hope you are feeling better and getting back into the groove of things.

Cherry: Hope you are doing well!

Hi Gals,
I was away visiting my sisters in Asheville, NC. We had a wonderful visit. I got to meet one of my sisters' grandchildren. She is 16 and kept her mimi company since that sister isn't feeling all that well. The company was good for her and if need be, her granddaughter would have helped with the driving. We are all getting older and it's tough to see. We really did have a wonderful time even though this sounds a little down. Not sure where my weight is. I worked hard at one sister's cabin. We reorganized her space. She lives up on a mountain and the views are beautiful. She was really happy for the help and I was happy to help her out.
It's so good to see you Turtles still posting. We can do this.
I'm weighing in tomorrow. I hope it's not too bad.
Thinking of all of you and wishing you well.

Hey everyone. So finally got my lab work done the dr exact quote was I was running on fumes. I am okay cutting the fast food back out to a bare minimum.

Princess: I am still on the fence about active link.

Itryharder glad you enjoyed your visit. Asheville is very pretty. Which is sad cause I live in Nc and never visits the mountain.

Hope everyone is well have a goodnight.

Thank you everyone for keeping me in your thoughts. Things just get very busy during the summer months for my family. Everyone is feeling better and I hope it will be awhile before we have to deal with the Sickies again.:dizzy: My weigh is doing ok. It has gone up a few pounds but I am still below 150. I am thinking of trying to eat more clean and simple foods. Because of stomach issues my choices of what I can eat is already pretty slim but I could cut out my Popchips made from corn and tortilla chips. I know I have been eating way to many. It effects my moods when I am eating to much carbs and sugar and my craving sky rocket.

Terri - Good to hear from you again. Sorry to hear about the rough weeks you've had.

Life4evr, bandit, princess - looks like everyone is keeping on.

Judy- Always an encouragement to others. Keep on keepin on.

Hope I didn't forget anyone.

Hi turtles

Well, our heatwave broke which is fine by me. Cooler but sunny which is great. Been spending time at the trailer & going back up this weekend & one of my gf is coming Sat & staying overnight. So hoping for good swimming weather & maybe have a campfire later.

Nice to see everyone chiming in when they can.
Have been good this week with preplanning my meals which makes all the difference when opening the fridge & knowing my choices are on plan.
Making the caul bites again tonight. I find these a great sidedish - filling & basically zero points.

All - good luck at the scales this week.

Life, so glad you got your lab work done because we don't want you "running on fumes." How close is Brevard to the mountains? It would be fun if we could meet one day.

Cherry, glad to see you posting. Hopefully the sickies will stay out of the way and you'll all be able to enjoy the rest of the summer. Congrats on your terrific weight loss. Keep up the good work.

Terri, how are you doing? Did you try the pennies? I've got mine out here to count out calories if I need an extra boost. Good luck!

Princess, this week coming up will be better. You can do this. You have done this. Isn't is aggrevating how little extra food adds up to fast pounds?

Bandit, love your plans for the weekend. You really have great summers.
I want to make the cauli bits again. They really were good.

Okay Gals, we're getting long so I'll start a new thread tomorrow morning.
Everybody have a great weekend!
