Weight Loss Support - Time for SERIOUS FUN #2

View Full Version : Time for SERIOUS FUN #2

06-07-2003, 09:09 AM
:wave:Hi there and welcome to Time for SERIOUS FUN thread. We are a group of people trying to support each other on our weight loss journeys. We are here to support each other in any way we can. We do not just talk about weight loss, as you will find when you read the thread. We like to talk about everyday stuff too, and support each other in all of that as it all ties in together.

We currently have a summer challenge going on courtesy of gma2one, here is what she opened us with on the first thread that she started.
I am going to put out a challenge for those of you who want to give it an ole college try. This is for the summer ladies so let's all get motivated!!

1. I am going to EXERCISE at least 4 times every week
2. I am going to cut out 1 food that I know is BAD for me
3. I am going to TRY and stay on my program everyday
4. I am going to get that water in
5. I am going to tell myself I am beautiful everyday and MEAN IT because you are!
6. I am going to help at least one person who is struggling by my love and encouragement!

Are you with me ladies? Can you really be positive about your life, love you now not just when you are thin? It is tough to do sometimes, but I know you can do it. Help is ON THE WAY!

So my beauties if you feel like chatting with us just grab a keyboard and jump on in, we are here for you. Have fun, thatís what life is supposed to be about.

Good Morning girls, hope you like the new start of the thread. Please feel free to start a new one if this one gets to long and I forget. I do have my options thing set on 30 posts per page, so this way I know when it says we hit page 2 that it's time for a new thread.:)

Yesterday was another on plan day for me. My regular weigh day is Tuesdays now and well, I stepped on the scale this a.m for a peek and I'm down some already, not gonna tell you how much cause I don't want to jinx it:D.

How is everyone else doing? Yesterday was a little slow day on the thread. I went to Evans choral concert, the kids did a wonderful job, but it was long, and the gym was so hot!!!! Another thing, has anyone noticed what children wear these days? Particularly girls? OMG, last night if some of those girls were mine they would not have made it out of the house. I'm sorry, I don't think a 7th or 8th grade child should be flaunting all they got. Skin tight shirts, short short skirts, those new style shirts that kinda like outline the boobs (you know the ones with elastic like under the boob line). Let me tell you when my daughter is in that grade she will not be in public like that!!! Maybe I'm old fashioned, but it's no wonder some older boys/young men get into trouble, these girls look lots lots older.
Okay enough said about that...I tend to ramble on and on.

I sent Evan out on the boat with his dad today and Alexis and I are off to the grocery store soon to get the things I forgot yesterday:lol: . I also have to make a pumpkin pie for the fire department, they are having a supper/auction tonight, that will be fun. My hubby is a volunteer fire man, he is a Captian on the Department so we kind of have to go. The auction is always fun. My hubby usually donates lobsters, so it's nice to see how much the summer folks will bid:lol: .

Okay, I posted.......tag your it!! If your reading please feel free to post. No need to lurk, I love to chat....

SATURDAY: Sunny Thoughts Saturday. Give each other your best encouraging words!

Peek: Thanks for helping out with the thread!

Well, we spent 2 1/2 hours at the doctors and they gave dh shots and oral antibiotics and he has to go back the first of next week to get checked up on. Except for a sore arm, he is not feeling any repercussions from the mishap. I told him it must have been pretty scary in the second before he knew he was not going to be able to keep from going in and ever the jokster he said, "You know in Jaws when the captain of the ship can't squirm away from the shark and he is sliding down the deck into its mouth, that's how I felt."

I am highly recommending Bruce Almighty. I really really don't like Jim Carrey and have a problem with movies that "make fun of God" so to speak, but though the commercials look like that is what they are dong, actually it isn't and it is a good movie. It is very very funny and I even cried the last 20 minutes because it is very touching too. I did have a hot dog and soda, but it was nearly 8 o'clock by the time we got to the movies and we had had nothing to eat since lunch. I will just work it off in the pool this morning.

It is also TOM so I am retaining water. YUCK!

I hope everyone has beautiful sunny weather to enjoy this weekend. Looks like we are going to have rain on an off the whole weekend.

You ladies take care. My Sunny Thoughts are these:

Jana: We are all excited to know you are gonna be a grandma again. Just think, you have time to be just a little bit skinnier grandma and I know you will be!

Peek: You my dear are a treasured friend! Ladies, you could not ask for a better friend than this lady. She is superb!

Michelle: You my sweet are going to make a fabulous mother someday! You have everything it takes to succeed in all areas of your life!

Deon: You are a brave and courageous lady who can overcome anything life puts in front of you. We could all take a lesson from you honey!

Missy: You have the courage and strength of character to be that "hotty" you want to be. You uplift us here and we love you for it!

Sandy: Your commitment to a new way of life for yourself is commendable. I know you will be able to accomplish your goal weight and be where you want to be.

Elle: You are greatly missed sweety. I have looked back at the posts and see that we haven't gotten to talk to you much. I just want you to know that all of us care about you and anything that may or may not be hindering you at this time!

To all of you ladies: I am proud to be part of a group of ladies with the determination and strength to go after what they want, work hard and acheive it! Keep up the spectacular work!

Dear Friends,
Where did you all go? I started a new thread and it has just been me and Faye? Come out, come out where ever you are. The thread did not close down due to the weekend:) .

Hubby and I are almost ready to leave for the dinner but I wanted to pop in and see what was up. Food has been good still, but gosh I need a poke in the a$$ to get the exercise thing going. Faye, could you fedex that pool up this way along with some heat so it would be warm enough to swim, I love to swim.

I hope you are all doing great!!!

06-07-2003, 05:39 PM
Peek: Why don't you just come here every morning and join me? It would be great to have someone else to exercise with? Hope you enjoy your dinner tonight. Eat a smidge of pie for me. I love pumpkin!

Man, I went to bed so late last night and got up at 5 am so I was pooped. Laid down on bed while dh was watching ballgame and kept waking up somewhere in the innings. Cubbies won today, yippeee! First time they every beat the Yankees. Hadn't played them since 1938 and on top of that our first baseman while running for an infield ball, collided with the pitcher, got whacked, fell and hit his head in the dirt and knocked himself completely out. they ended up bringing an ambulance onto the field and taking him off to the hospital. Sheesh, boys play rough!

It turned out to be a pretty day even though they were saying thunderstorms. Man I wish I knew that, I could have gone to the pool a little later and maybe a little warmer!

Well, since everyone is busy busy today, I am going to bid you adieu!

Faye :dizzy:

Hi ladies,

This is the very first chance I've had to post - I was in Evansville most of the day.

PEEK! You sweetie!! Thanks a bunch for starting a new thread. My ISP out here in the boonies is so outta date! But it's better than nothing! BTW, I've got firemen in my family, too. A nephew is Batallion Chief, another one is a paid volunteer, and yet another one is a regular volunteer. They are all brothers. What makes me mad is how they put their lives on the line for all the meth fires! But don't get me started...

Faye - Hope your DH is better, with whatever is was... I can't pull up the other thread to check it out. :( Sounds like you did okay at the movies...

FYI - Elle is on vacation - she went to Alaska for fish for salmon. We hope she has a really good time.

I have been OP all week, and my arm is just about broken from patting myself on the back! LOL... But I am having shin splints from doing the WATP tape! What's up with that?? Tomorrow I am going to do just 1/2 of it (I only do the 1 mile!) and see if that helps.

Tomorrow is the Father/Son dinner at our church. I have already planned what I will eat. No, I'm NOT a father, nor a son, lol, but I'm on the committee responsible for the dinner. This is my last event with them, since I have resigned. I'll tell you all about where my extra time is going to go (not grandkids, lol) in my next letter.

Sorry this is so long!

06-08-2003, 09:08 AM
Good Morning girls,

Faye: My hubby said to tell you that he rooted for your Cubbies the other day. Said if they can beat the Yankees he will root for them almost all the time. Said congrats on the win against the best team that MONEY CAN BUY!!

Janna: glad you can join us again. I will continue to start a new thread when it reaches 30 so you can continue, but please feel free to start a new one yourself if I can't get to it in time.

So Elle is off Salmon fishing in Alaska? OMG what a neat thing, I mean I don't fish but would love to go to Alaska, I'm sure my hubby would like the fishing part. Our dream vacation is an Alaskan Cruise.

I have decided today is the day I add back in the exercise component of my journey, I have too!!!! Once I get started I will be fine, it's the initial starting that is the killer.

Missy, Michelle, Sandy, and Deon?????? You are all MIA????Where are you girls?

06-08-2003, 10:28 AM
Hi ladies,

Peek - good for you, committing to exercise! Just a little bit each day would get you in the right direction.

Faye - good morning!

Scale report - 2 more pounds gone! That's 13 now. Or, as I like to think of it - 52 sticks of butter! When I lose 2 more, I'm going to reward myself with a Sony Discman that also has am/fm radio. I had one before and gave it to DD16 and now I miss it, boo hoo.

Today is the dinner at church, and I have figured my points accordingly. Here's the menu:

1/2 cup cole slaw - 2 points
1 chicken leg - 4
1/2 cup mashed potatoes - 2
1/3 cup corn - 1

total= 9 points! I hate to spend them that way, but have no choice on the menu. Church dinners can be so disturbing! But at least I have planned it.

Better go - I'll check in later today.

06-08-2003, 10:37 AM
Okay, I'm trying to post a pic the way a friend on another thread explained how to do it.....

Okay I did it!!!! Yahoo.....anyway thats me, was a long day...lol, but now you know who your talking to.

06-08-2003, 04:09 PM
Good afternoon girls, where are you all? I'm lonely...

06-08-2003, 08:18 PM
Hey ladies!

Sorry I just haven't had time to post today. I went out and did my 45 minutes in the pool, came in and cleaned up and then dh and I went downtown so he could show me where the city hall is and a parking garage I can park in tomorrow. I am going in to put my application in for the city of Memphis registry for clerks and secretaries. I also applied for a job with a law firm again. I would really like the law firm job( 5 years experience). I am definitely qualified and the money is pretty good. Say a little prayer for me! Thanks!

Jana: :cb: :cb: :cb: :cb: :cb: :cb: :cb: :cb: Woohoo for you girl! Congrat on the weight loss!

Peek: I cannot tell you how funny you are! I surely do treasure your friendship.

I think the folks next door moved out in the middle of the night. Their broken down truck is gone. I just hope we don't get someone worse living next door.

Well, I need to do some work. I promise I will try and do better tomorrow.

All you ladies are doing great! Keep up the good work!

06-08-2003, 10:00 PM
Hi ladies,

Peek - thanks for posting your picture. It's nice to have a face to go with the name. DD16 said she will help me put mine on sometime.

Faye - Good luck with the applications. Sounds like you are very well qualified. Hopefully you will get some nice neighbors. I lived next door to a crazy man in town. He set out antifreeze on purpose and our puppy drank it and died a horrible death. I called the authorities and they said unless he dumped it on the ground that there was nothing he could do. Out here in the country I don't have to worry about people like that....

Where the heck is everyone else? Faye, your thread is getting as puny as the Jaded Ladies, lol.

I stayed OP at the dinner today and didn't have any trouble doing it.

Well, I'm going to go spend some quality time with my DH (wink, wink).

06-08-2003, 10:48 PM
Hellooooooo ladies!!!

I found the new thread and I took the time to find the link from home (I'd been posting from work all week hee hee).

Sorry for my lack of posting, but I woke up on Saturday with a sore throat! Bah!

Two little good pieces of news though....sickness makes you want to eat less LOL :dz: so that's one minor plus, I pretty much managed to stay on plan this whole weekend. That's actually going to have to be a goal for me. I tend to try to eat well during the week, then it all falls apart on the weekends...I'm seeing 2 guys :o who love to take me out to dinners and lunches LOL, so it get's to be a BIT hard to stay good...especially when I absolutely LOOOOOOVVVEEEEEE Olive Garden's portabello mushroom ravioli...and of course the appetizer, drink and dessert. LOL

And the other good piece of news...I figured out how to work the smilies! It seems I"d just been using the quick reply function instead of just replying ...so as Homer would say.... Doh!

Anyway, the bummer is that I slacked off on exercise and only got in 3 work outs last week. I usually play catch up on the weekends and since I was sick this weekend, it didn't happen. Boo!:stress: But that's ok....So, what is the new plan for Monday ladies? I'm all for the strategies to get me by day by day.

I think you are right and that 130lbs. will be my gw. This week I'm gonna head over to Dotties and try to make myself a good plan to work with, but as it stands right now, I'm good with my sickness diet. LOL

Faye, thanks so much for your encouraging words. I Know that everyone else appreciated them as much as I did...and Peek, I didn't leave ya, LOL, I eventually found my way here.

Anyway, not much else to report on my end of the world...I'm gonna go to bed and try to sleep away my sickness! :tired:

Hope everyone had a GREAT weekend and that MOnday is gonna be good too!

Love you guys!

06-08-2003, 10:50 PM
I just read about your puppy...that is HORRIBLE! I hope that guy get's his due! It's jerks like that that make life miserable. Hope you guys get him good!

06-09-2003, 01:18 AM
Here's the cliff notes on my problem at home. Dh has told me that he loves me but no longer wants to be married. Says that he doesnt want any responsibilites and such. I have suggest counseling or even a trail sepration and he wont even listen to what i have to say. I on the other hand am committed, I guess that I just have to do as the little poem say if you love something set it free if it comes back to you it was yours to begin with if it doesnt then it never was.

06-09-2003, 08:30 AM
Good Morning ladies!

Monday: Today is Mission Monday and our mission today is to stay OP ALL DAY!

Jana: The problem with what is going on here is that the complex is not rentals but property. Now, these are about 25 years old and a lot of these folks bought them new. They are now in their 70's and above, are passing away and the condos are being sold to investors for rental property. I have renters on both sides of me and across the street. They could care less about it because it doesn't belong to them and in this case, looks like they just up and possibly abandoned it. We haven't seen anyone live there for at least 8 weeks. I have seen her grown son pick up the mail with his girlfriend though. I just want to repeat how proud I am of you and your weight loss. You keep working hard!

Missy: Woohoo, 2 guys? How great is that? I guess when they ask you where you want to go to dinner, you need to start telling them the Salad shack or something! Hey, don't worry about figuring things out here, I probably will never know how to do all the stuff properly. I just muddle along!

Sandy: Mind some advice from an old married (31 years) lady? I see the bigtime lack of commitment by young men nowadays. Your spouse is not alone. My son is one of them. Luckily, he hasn't been stupid enough to marry anyone yet. I know it is hard to love someone and they tell you that though they love you they don't want to be married. BOLOGNA! The truth is, he wants to play around with other women so the only excuse he has is that one. You are a smart cookie to suggest what you did to him (counseling etc), but since he refuses to consider it, your best option is just letting the baby go. He is immature and obviously needs to grow up and there is nothing you can do about that if he is not willing to try and save your marriage. As much as this hurts, you have to go on for you! You are a wonderful and beautiful young woman and there is someone out there that will love you to pieces some day. You have lots of friends here so come and cry on our shoulders. You can PM me anytime and I will help any way I can! (you are in my prayers)

To the rest of you little devils who have been busy this weekend, hope to see you sometime today.

Deon: I am still praying for you and your family! Keep your chin up sweety!

Ok, here is the laugh's on Faye for the day:

I went to the pool yesterday and was doing my exercises. I felt this lump on my stomach and wondered what the heck it was. All I am going to say is TOM and you should be able to figure it out! Yup! Only I could have something like that happen!

You ladies have a really good day and remember to work hard and stay on your program today!

06-09-2003, 08:42 AM
Morning Beautiful ladies,
I'm on my way out the door to work, but had to come post first. I got an e mail from my boss over the weekend that we need to shift some work responsibilities????? Wonder whats up now? Do I even want to know? She sometimes gets stressed and I need to talk her down a bit and show her the big picture.

I also have my last Daisy meeting with the little girls today. Today they bridge to Brownies, so that will be fun. Next year I hope they all come back.

Faye: Your pool story today....OMG>.....you make me laugh, but did remind me that I think its time for my TOM, so better wear some coverage today.

Sandy: Sorry to hear about you and your hubby. I wish you well in however it turns out. I don't have much advice for you on this subject sorry.

Janna: That would be nice to see a pic of you too. I like putting faces with names. And what a jerk that man was that put the anti freeze out. I can't believe no one could do anything to him, is there no animal rights laws in your state? I hate people like that.

Missy: 2 men, you keep them hopping!!!!

Gotta run now girlies, check in with you later.

06-09-2003, 10:53 AM
Hi girls, happy monday...ugh. My only thought to get me thru this day is watching the crappy reality show "For Love Or Money" tonight LOL. I'm a reality addict and I keep telling myself that all I need to do is get thru the day and I'll be good. ;)

Hopefully I'll be able to stay on plan today since I'm still feelin sick. Grrr. But what can you do?

Sandy ~ I'm very sorry to hear about your husband. I hope that things do work out which ever way they were meant to be. Stay strong, you know us "cyber ladies" still love you! Big hugs sweetie!

Faye ~ TOM? I'm totally lost. LOL

Peek ~ 2 men is not as much fun as it sounds. :( Especially when I got 2 sorta like Sandy's hubby...immature and difficult to deal with. But at least I get some free meals out of it. LOL

Anyway, not much else going on here. HOpefullyt he rest of the crew will find their ways here soon. Hope everyone is having a good day, I'll be writing back later today.

Love ya,

06-09-2003, 11:22 AM
Wow, it's nice to have a full house, lol.

Missy - hope your sore throat is better today. You could try my mom's advice and gargle with some warm salt water. It tastes nasty, but it sure does work!

Sandy - ((((HUGS)))) for you! Just keep in mind that it is HIS loss, and not yours. We'll be here for you, and you can vent all you want, okay?

Faye - I'm proud of YOUR weight loss, too. It's easier to do with the support on the boards, isn't it?

Peek - I sure hope your boss doesn't pile more work on you. Good luck with that.

Re: the creep with the antifreeze - I always say what goes around comes around, so I'm sure he'll get his! Thank goodness we don't live by him anymore.

I've got a good start on the laundry and housework and plan to spend some time in the little pool with the babies and DD22 today. They've never been in a pool so it will be a lot of fun to watch their reactions......... I just love being a grandma. :cloud9:

If any of you like casseroles and like chicken and rice, you have to try this frozen product - Stouffer's Family Recipes - Grandma's Chicken and Vegetable Rice Bake. It is not "diet" but works out to be 7 points for 1 cup. It is really good, and I round it out will a salad and some green beans. It is so simple, too - just toss it in the oven or microwave.

06-09-2003, 01:52 PM
Missy: I totally missed the sore throat thing and I have a slam bang remedy. It is called something like Dr Serle's old fashion remedy or something like that, but I am telling you I have never ever had it not work. It is 8 oz cup hot water, 1 tablespoon honey and 1 tablespoon vinegar (I use white) you drink it. Now it may take 2-3 doses, (it tastes sort of like sweet and sour, but it isn't horrible at all) and I guarantee it works. TOM-Time of the Month (now you see why it's funny!)

Jana: Good to see you this morning. How is that garden coming along? I am very jealous of your green thumb. If someone brings me a plant, the poor thing says, "Well, just bury me, cause Faye will definitely kill me in a week!"

Peek: Do they have PRE-Brownies called Daisys now? Brother, I am sure old. Kel was in Brownies and I was a troop leader. I liked having the boys better believe it or not (less squealing!)

As for the subject of men. They are adorable, but basically pains in the tushies, even the old guys! I have learned to live with things that drive me nuts like he ignores me when I am talking to him. Every once in awhile, I will climb up his tree about it, like talk gibberish and then ask him what I said, but you have to take the good and the bad and we are no picnics all the time either. I mean I am perfect, but there are so few of us!

Oooh, I am kind of excited. I got an e-mail from our newspaper that the law firm has requested my resume. The paper forwarded a message to me from them about what they were looking for. He wants someone to run the front office. I would be in hog heaven, but he may want someone that knows all their software and I probably don't though I could learn. One thing I do know that a lot of the younger ones don't is 3 types of Wordperfect because that is what the firm I worked at used until right before I left. The office manager at the law firm LOVES me so I know I would get a spectacular reference from her and the company I worked for here canned the old bat I worked for (and the reason I quit) three weeks after I quit there and the woman that does the references likes me too so I would get an ok one from there too. I am the only former support staff employee at the law firm that the office manager has ever let roam the office when I come to visit without an escort. I always request one, but last time I visited, she said, "You know your way around here better than most, so just go ahead and visit with us."

Well, I have had nothing to eat this morning so I really need to get something in my stomach.

06-09-2003, 02:42 PM
Good afternoon Everyone

Did you all have a good weekend?? It was a rainy one here....big surprise! Sorry for being MIA, but I usually am away from my computer on the weekends. I cherish the 2 days that I get to spend with my hubby and I really don't get much time to come online.

We spent the weekend, thru the rain, working in our flower beds. Weeding. How exciting, With all this rain, weeds and grass are growing a zillion times faster! Everything looks nice and clean now :flow1: :df:

I haven't had a chance to look through the posts, so I hope everyone is doing good with their exercise and eating plans?? I continue to do well with my eating, and for that, I am very happy :dizzy:

I will go ahead and check out what has been happening with everyone. I just wanted to check in and say "hello" :)

Will check back later!

06-09-2003, 03:13 PM

A few post scripts now that I have skimmed through the posts.

Missy: I sure hope that your throat is feeling better today! Sore throats are NOT fun :(

2 guys!! Wow!! :dizzy: You could have your own little bachelorette show going on here, Which one will she choose :chin: Oh to be young and single again....NOT IN A MILLION YEARS. Well, not the single part, anyway,

Peek: Glad to hear that you were down in weight when you last checked. Hope that by weigh-in tomorrow, you are still pleased with yourself ;)

I totally agree with you on the clothing thing!! Little kids are dressing WAY TOO OLD for their age. Guess we can thank Britney Spears for that. I don't know what is wrong with the parents that let them out the door that way. Kids are just growing up way too fast nowadays. :yikes:

Sandy: I am very sorry to hear about your current situation! It must have been devastating for you to hear this from the person you love. How long have you been married? I am so sorry that he won't even go for counseling. I am not sure of your/his age. This is not a "midlife crisis" type of thing, is it? :::sigh::: All I can say is to remember to take care of yourself during all of this. You have to do what works for YOU. You can't force him to go to counseling and you can't force him to do what he may not be willing to do. You deserve someone who is going to make you feel like you are the most important thing in the world to them! Do you have any children, Sandy? I am definitely going to include you in my prayers. I can only imagine how hurt and angry you must feel right now. Please lean on your family and friends for support, and, of course, us here! Vent any time you need. We may not have all the answers, but between all of us, there are alot of ears to listen and shoulders to cry on! Take care of yourself!!

Jana: Great to see posting from you;)

I see that you, too, are a WATP fan! Missy said she was getting shin splints also. Hmmmm.....I do the tapes and I haven't experienced that--thankfully! I hope it eases up for you 2 soon!

A big congratulations on your 2 lb. weight loss   Good for you!! That is great that you have rewards in place. That sure helps:) How long has it taken you to lose the 13 lbs.?? Keep up the excellent work :cp:

Faye: How is your hubby doing this week? What a nightmare that must have been with his little accident Friday!! Poor guy!

Best of luck to you in regard to the position you are seeking! I am sure that you will get it:) Sounds like you would be a perfect fit :goodvibes: :goodvibes: :goodvibes:

I think I got everyone! I am getting really really :tired: ! All that back breaking work from the weekend is catching up with me.

Hubby is gone til Wednesday. He is attending a trade show for his job in Boston. So, I will be alone. Which I HATE  So, don't be surprised if I am up posting in the middle of the night, !!

Enjoy the rest of the afternoon!

06-09-2003, 06:32 PM
Hey girls...how'd your day go so far? Mine was pretty good....has my english muffin w/jelly, some tea (only 4 sugars thank you very much LOL), my signature spaghettios for lunch, and some FF pudding for dessert. I'd say that's a pretty good day so far. And mommy is making me some pork and sauerkraut for dinner...soo, it should all be good.

Peek ~ You are/were a daisy leader? Awesome! I was thinking about working on being one in my spare time...how often can they meet and for how long? (I was a girl scout for the LOOOOOONG haul, brownies all the way up to Seniors...and I guess technically I still am, if I'd pay my dues...even got my Gold Award....and let me tell you...I'm glad I did..got $500/year for that in college!)

Jana ~ My dad must be from the same school as your mom! He had me gargling with salt water ALLLLL day yesterday...I felt like I was drowning in the ocean...BUT it did help!

Faye ~ That remedy sounds a little sketchy, but I may give it a whirl tonight. I do remember my mom making me drink some honey concotion when I was little, but hey, anything is worth a shot, right? TOM, yes it is QUITE funny now that you explain it to me LOL. Also a big congrats on the potential new job!!!

Michelle ~ You are right, 2 guys = no fun. But what can you do? LOL It is a handful to deal with, especially when they are older and SUPPOSED to be mature, but that is debateable at some times...I actually am not getting the splints from WATP, they are more from just walking outside....WATP hasn't hurt anything yet! Hopefully you won't be too lonely tonight, you'll at least have somem posts to read. LOL

Alright ladies, I'm out of work...adios, have a great day!

Luv ya,

Hi girls,
Wow, where did the day go? I was busy all day at work, then the Daisy Scouts (yes this is the first step in Brownies now), finally home and cooked supper, now I get to chat with some of my favorite people.

Faye: :crossed: fingers are crossed, arms, legs, toes, eyes, um everything I can think of is crossed for you to get the job you want.

Men being babys? I have 3 children, 5, 11, and 34 and the 34 year old is the biggest, so that should say it all.

Michelle: We will totaly excuse you for not posting over the weekend for that excuse!!! Family time is so important, LOL, I say that as I sit here on the computer....hahahaha, but my kids and hubby are right here in the same room. Sorry your hubby is gone till Wend. hope you fare okay....just think of the time you can have when he gets home.

Missy: So are you running your own Bachlor show or what????Let them treat you nice for a while...thats the way to go, then find out which one is the better of the two and if thats the one you want.

Jana: I had to laugh when you talked about the thread being slow....it may be slow but the last thread had 72 posts on it with 545 views  so, although people arnt posting they sure are reading.

Okay chat with you all later,

Just a reminder that tomorrow is Target Tuesday. To give you a head start, our target for tomorrow will be.........working on that one area you are weakest; exercise, behaviour modification, food triggers, whatever. I want you to think about targeting what gives you the most trouble. Really think about what that might be and if you wish to share it tomorrow, we may have some ideas about how to help!

You are one terrific group! You help each other, work hard at your programs, deal with stress as well as you can and have a good positive attitude. This adds up to weight loss and more importantly weight learning!

I want thank you for all your thoughts and prayers regarding dh. He came out of his nasty little dunking pretty much unscathed except for a sore arm from his shot and one butt cheek. It is FULL of bug bites, but then I always knew he was sweet!:o

Missy: I know that the sore throat remedy sounds weird, but I swear it works. I happen to find it in a medical book I have that deals with first aid and the like. You're not German by any chance are you? I miss my grandma's sauerkraut and pig hocks! I remember her crock of kraut sitting in the kitchen covered with a kitchen towel, sort of aging like fine wine! Sure miss stuff like that in the day of the fast and frozen food! I am not sure my kids have ever even eaten sauerkraut and I had it a lot growing up. My mom used to put sugar on it when we were little.

Michelle: My husband used to do these trade shows and travel all over the country and he would bring me back stuff from them. He worked in the plastics industry at the time and I guess he thought I would be thrilled with the plastic back scratcher or fly swatter! The one thing he brought home that was ok by me was the Lindor Chocolates. They had been packaged in a plastic cylinder and Jack brought home a carload of the things. This chocolate is out of this world. You can buy it now at any Target, but definitely stay away the stuff is addicting! You come and post any old time and I am sure someone will be here from time to time!

Peek: Hope you didn't have too rough a day a work and your bosses responsibility shifts were not too stressful!

Well ladies, I guess I am going to wrap it up for tonight.

Deon, Jana, Elle, Sandy see you all tomorrow!

Lindor chocolates  make me feel as though I have died and gone to heaven.:T We are talking the round balls that are filled with different flavors. OMG they are to die for........and dangerous. They are 25 cents a piece here and when I see them occasionally I will treat myself to 2 or 3 and savor every single bite.

Hi gang!

Well, another Monday has gone by and 4 more days before I meet my online love for the first time! I am nervous as all get go:o .....

I was a Brownie Scout as a girl, and when I had gotten old enough to be a Girl Scout, my parents moved (AGAIN) and I never did get into the Girl Scouts. Oh well

Psst...I was addicted to the Thin Mints Girl Scout cookies, but nowdays any cookie like that in the house is asking for trouble...it's like the Lay's commercial: "You can't eat just one.":^: I have the fat free Fig Newtons in the house and that is it...they are the only ones that don't taste like cardboard--and the best thing is: I haven't opened the package yet!

Bri is 180 pounds and can eat about anything and not gain an ounce. Me, I look at chocolate crossways and it's on my hips!

I know I know, it has been awhile. I had a long weekend and I survived it. I had my nephews graduation and I can say the day turned interesting at best. Well it's like this, long story short. The family get together after the graduation was at my sisters very recent ex-husbands house with all of his family which she hates and my parents were there who are also recently divorced and havent been to any family get togethers since the break up and my Dad has a girlfriend which Mom hasnt met yet, Mom doesn't like my sisters in laws at all and is a very bitter woman. So there ya have it. I think I should write a song. :yikes: But it turned out ok anyway, you could just cut the tension in the room!!

I am staying pretty close to OP. It is hard to not just go and everything but at the same time I want to keep off this 31 lbs and I want to continue losing and feeling good. I had an order of "freedom" fries the other night and had heart burn later that evening and I havent had heart burn in a long time, so it made me appreciate eating well.

I have also been getting alot of walking in because DH needs to get up and move somewhat. He is doing OK may be back to work within a week or so. So he thinks, I wish he would take more time but he is afraid of losing his security in his job. Long story.

If I can make through the rest of this week I think I will make it, even though I am not sure how I am going to pay all the bills, but what can I do, I dont have one of those trees in my back yard, you know a money tree. I just need to keep up the prayers and have faith, we did get ourselves into this mess so I guess we will get ourselves out of it.

Well I am about to fall asleep here so I must go.

Good morning!!!!!!!!!

I am 36 and he is 43, yeah I do think that this is his change of life. As far as kids I have one from my first marriage. That one ended becasue he became violent once and I was not going to stay there. They way I felt was if he could hit then he might hit out son so I left. My feeling are you can hit me but you better not touch my baby. I got lucky he never hit me and as far as I know he didn't him my son. I promise that I will catch up soon. Taking a few days to heal and sort things out.

What a morning. I was here once in the midst of a post, and I was chatting with another girl on another thread and then........the school bus gets here and the lights are not working, so the bus driver has to come in and use the phone to call the school to request another bus to come, so I had to get off the phone line. I was and still am in my jammies, luckily it was substitue driver and a woman....the regular driver is John, he is a really nice man, but would not want him to see me in my jammies:) .

Okay, with that said, today is official Weigh in day for me....and the verdict is in.....I lost a total of 4.5 lbs this week, that gives me my little boot in the *** to get myself going again.

Deon, things will get better. I hope your hubby lets himself heal before he attempts work again. Money is tight here too, because it seems when it rains it poors, meaning everything comes due at one time....insurances, house, car, truck, boat, loans.....not to mention your regular stuff like groceries, lights, heat or air, phone etc....oh well, life will continue....my hubby always says Dont stress!!! So I am just passing it on, don't stress honey, you will make yourself sick and you don't want that. {{{HUGS}}} to you.

Sandy: Remember what Michelle said and take some time for youself and heal yourself. We will be here for you anytime you want to vent or just talk. {{{Hugs to you}}}

Faye: Target Tuesday....hummmmmmmm I think maybe salt? I will try not to add any extra salt today.

Michelle: where are you? Come back come back....lol, I like reading your posts.

Missy: Peek ~ You are/were a daisy leader? Awesome! I was thinking about working on being one in my spare time...how often can they meet and for how long? (I was a girl scout for the LOOOOOONG haul, brownies all the way up to Seniors...and I guess technically I still am,
Daisys was fun, but think I will like the Brownies better. Daisys you can't sell cookies or anything, you can't leave your room and the list goes on....to many rules, but the girls enjoyed it and it is a good way to break yourself in, but from experience make your meetings only 1 hour, you loose 5 year olds attention really fast:) . But good luck.

Jana: Calling Jana? Hope your day is going well.
