Heaven help me. I just can't seem to stop eating. I can't seem to get back on track. I just binged for breakfast. I started to do the normal "well I messed up today so I might as well just forget the rest of the day", but i didn't. I just walked 5 miles and did 30 minutes on the Wii Mw Fast step workout! I didn't give up just because I goofed up for a while!!!! Now the rest of the day I just have to stay in this mind set and I will be good.

tubolard, I completely understand. God designed our bodies to survive famines. When we lose a lot of weight quickly its like a famine. Our bodies take over sometimes no matter how hard we try. So be patient and eat when you are hungry and stop when satisfied.

Annie, don't you have a basement? Hope the storms are over.

No, we don't have one. Interestingly, in Oklahoma, there are not many basements in home because of the clay soil we have here. Most people have cellars or safe rooms. We plan to put one if/when we build out at our place in the country someday. Looking more and more like we are going to have to downsize A WHOLE LOT from what we wanted to build. Construction is SO expensive.

Back is a bit better, but bothers me the most in the mornings right now. I truly plan to get up and try it again in the morning. Didn't sleep a wink last night, so should sleep well and be ready to go in the morning.

Welcome, SuperHeroTeacher!!

Tubo-I can relate to the food issues. I have suddenly decided it's okay to have ice cream or a similar treat every day! I never intended to cut those things out entirely when I made my lifestyle changes, but I've let them creep back in WAY too often. Don't be too hard on yourself, just move on. I'm trying to do the same here.

How are things in Oklahoma, Annie?

Lots of folks dealing with loss. So sad around here. I believe the death toll is up to 18 or 19....they've found a few swept away by flash flooding.

Hey gang :) I've been doing 30 minutes of hand weights each day! Talk about make me sweat! I've worked up to using 5 lb weights in each hand. I will try to get up early tomorrow and get in some walking too.

Tubo, that was great to get back on track with a 5 mile walk and all that exercise!

Welcome superheroes her! :)

Welcome Psychic - hope you enjoy Leslie's walks as much as we do! it's a great way to get in some walking.

This morning I got up even earlier and did 3 miles. :cp: I used the Bootcamp dvd! whoot whoot! I feel great! tonight I will also do my handweights.

friday morning I leave to take mom to Branson so I will be off the computer for a week - I sure hate to get out of my routine - but it will be nice to get away. I'm not gonna haul weights with me, but I am going to take the Figure 8 Bands that come with the Bootcamp dvd to get in some resistance work every day while i'm gone. I'll be doing a lot of walking up there so that helps BUT i also do a lot of eating that's different from eating at home. :faint:

hope everybody has a great :walking: day!

Hello ladies! Welcome to Psychic! 5 Day Fit Walk was my first of the videos, too.

Cathy, I'm jealous of your trip to Branson! Where will you be staying? We won't be going this year, but hope to get to Eureka Springs in July. We have reservations, and unless a financial issue comes up (which is always a possibility around here, LOL) we'll be going July 22 for a week.

FINALLY got back to it today with the Get Up And Get Started 1 Mile Walk on the 5 Day Fit Walk. Used 1 pound weights. Felt good to move, but was VERY careful not to twist. It may be a while before I am back to doing tapouts!

Hoping to get a good night's sleep tonight. I haven't slept well since the big storm last Friday night. Besides being a little upset, still, we have had thunderstorms and torrential downpours through the nights. One was so loud it scared my little dog so much that she peed in my bed! She has never done that before. Was a mess to clean, but think I got it pretty well taken care of. Fingers crossed for tonight. My yard is literally a lake. Feast or famine as we've had drought for the last 2 years here.

I don't think I mentioned it, but I had some routine lab work done and found out my cholestrol is 283!! I am shifting that to my Number One reason to stick to plan with exercise and eating and get back to 150. That was my original low after I made my changes and I want to get back there. My original goal was 140, but I have to be honest and say I don't know if I can get that low or not. After 150, I'll see how I feel about it.

hey gang - i'm back  got lots of exercise walking and pushing mom's wheelchair (she has COPD and had lung cancer and is fine except she can't breath to walk like that) and hauled oxygen machines and luggage and more luggage LOL we had a good time :)

Annie - we meet family up there and stay in their condo. I thought it's at Thousand Hills. we go once a year and have lots of fun shopping & eating & going to shows. We saw Pierce Arrow, which is my favorite, and Mickey Gilley, which is mom's favorite, and then The Duttons and the other one at the fudge shop - I cannot think of the name of it right now... LOL

also thanks for the amazon link Annie - I went ahead and preordered Leslie's new dvd! yay!!!!!!

HEY GANG - I did 2 miles this morning. I used the 4 Mile Power Walk. I will also do my handweights tonight. and I have to say, I can really see/feel a difference in my body since starting to faithfully use handweights. It's nice to see something making a difference, even if I'm the only one that can see it at this point.

Annie - I went and read your thread.... I have to say that I'm in menopause, 53 years old, short (5'3") and overweight (oh how I would love to weigh 150 like you!!! i'm so jealous!) and I STILL dress cute! ;) none of those things should keep us from looking cute! and I'm sure that you still dress very cute! you have come such a long long way!!! perhaps you could look thru some old pictures for a reminder of how far you have come. sounds like tho you have gotten use to this smaller body and perhaps want to tweek some things. I would suggest handweights - its good for our bones and like I was saying above - it's really making a difference for me. but also - enjoy yourself Annie - you deserve it!!!

So I've been doing some LS videos I found on YouTube almost daily for the past 2+ weeks, alternating between the Start Quick & Easy (1 mile) and the 1 Mile Express.

I'm feeling pretty good with those two, but not quite ready to move on to the two-mile workout, so yesterday I found the Exercise TV Start Walking at Home with LS (1 mile) and it kicked my butt! Seriously - my butt and hips are killing me! Not all LS 1 mile workouts are created equal :stars:

Mile one and five of Walk It Off and Tone It Up with 5 lb weights. Annie, the only boot camp dvd is at Amazon and it sells for $40. It has some kind of gadget with it. Is that the one you have?

Carol - that's the one! what a shame that it's $40 tho... (in my opinion) that is too much to pay for any workout. even tho i absolutely love that workout. she needs to republish that one (is that even a word?) LOL

Hey all! No exercise today. Made a HUGE boo boo this evening.....went to Chili's to use the coupon I got for a free flatbread. Got it and ate 3/4 of it and didn't bother to check the nutrition info till I got home. 1450 cal and 105 grams of fat in the entire thing....I was FLABBERGASTED!! No wonder my stomach feels yuck. Live and learn, but I usually am so much better about checking stuff BEFORE I order.

Yes, that is the boot camp DVD I have. I sure don't remember paying that much for it, either. I believe I got mine at Wal Mart. You might check there or Target and see if it is any less expensive. I have to say, it is probably worth $40.

ya know... I was thinking after I said that yesterday that I would probably pay $40 for the bootcamp dvd if I didn't have it and wanted it LOL just wish it wasn't so expensive Carol. I thought I paid maybe $20 for it when it came out.

that being said... I did 3 miles this morning. I used the bootcamp dvd. I didn't think I was going to make it thru it today. I am just really tired and my lower back is bothering me... it's heck getting old girls. :faint: I know why I'm so tired... I tried reducing my Armour Thyroid to see if I still need as much as I'm taking...and well... apparently I do... I feel a wreck ;)

hope everybody has a great :running: day!
