I'm here because my low weight's 189, I'm retaining a lot of water at 194 because of birthday food & booze last week, and taking ibuprofen, so 194 ain't my real weight anyway! Besides, half my favourite people on this forum are here so I'm not moving either!!

Hey, I'm cool with that, I've long wished for a thread where I could find all my buddies, lol!! Not to say that most people on this forum aren't awesome, they are! Just you guys have been hanging around my weights since I got here and we seem to be on a cool wavelength :) So regardless of what weights we are, we can cheer at everyone running through the 180s, lol! Regardless of where we are ;)

Either that or we'll end up just throwing the entire forum into chaos ;)

I've had a weird week. I feel like I totally lost my focus or gung-ho or whatev. But I stayed on plan with food and exercise, and the scale had good news this morning - 182! So hopefully I can get back to a good place mentally this coming up week.

And I ditched 3lbs of water overnight, back to 191 today. Off to work soon, I'm running a little late to walk the whole way, but I'll be walking as much as I can and getting the subway in between. Another reason to lose weight! Being overweight and too hot on the subway in summer is NOT fun, lol!! ;)

Yay Shiv!!! And I agree, being hot on the subway and being heavy is no fun.

It's already so hot here today (it was like 80 degrees at 8am), mind you I wore jeans, tights and a sweater last Friday when we went out and had the heat on (in May!) because it was so cold.

The difference today in this heat? Yes it's hot. But I'm not as clammy and gross as I was this time last year. I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of NSVs that are heat and summer related, I'm so excited.

I wore my size 12 capris out last night. I almost wanted to leave the tag on for everyone to say "Oh that woman is a 12, ooh la la!" like I'm skinny or sumthin'!!! :D

Get in here you lot. All welcome! If you're not in the 180s, hopefully you'll just see how awesome being in the 180s is and magically appear here... Or you'll be in the 180s anyway... Or you'll be past the 180s and trying to take everyone else with you ;)

I know what caused this though... I kept disappearing and reappearing to/from 189, and since I left the door open so much with coming and going, everyone else has piled in. Either that or I've made a hole in the spacetime-weightloss continuum. Hopefully a wormhole that'll land us all at goal in the morning.

Don't worry if I'm making no sense, had a bad night at work... Burned myself in the kitchen, asked for 3-4 shifts across the week and got Saturday night and Sunday night, and some **** stole the tip jar. So I had to walk halfway home surrounded by drunks! Woo! (As you can probably tell, my boss gave me a tequila and a cocktail to cheer me up).

The weird thing, though, is that my inches didn't change much at all. :dizzy: It must've come off in bizarre places that I don't measure, like my feet, or something.

Getting ready to go out for the afternoon/evening with DH. This is a rare occasion for us and been about 6 months since we last went out just the two of us. We are going to one of our favorite places here (http://www.fasteddiesbonair.com/fr_home.cfm) and I am saving my calories to splurge on one of their awesome burgers and possibly a margarita :) Then we will probably see a movie later and I will need to watch myself around the popcorn. Oh geez I may not step on the scale tomorrow!

Well we had a great time last night and I definitely used all my saved calories :) I ended up having three margaritas instead of just one, oops :)
It's been a loooong time since I've had anything like this and it was worth it. Now back on the bandwagon this morning and we will also be going for a 7 mile walk later on the local trails.

Just got back a while ago from our walk/jog on the trail....we did 7 miles and hopefully burned off some of those calories from last night :) Came home and had a nice big salad.

We play, we pay. ;)

OK, I'm OFFICIAL here now, weighed in at 189.0 this morning. I was petrified of retaining water for my cycle but I made it!!!!

So...where is that 170s thread? I never ever hang where I belong!!!

I was talking to someone at my doctor's office and someone else who works there kept looking at us. Finally she came out and said it was me she didn't recognize!! I thought that was so funny! Happy day!!!

I'm currently 184lbs and a few weeks post-partum. I'm looking at getting back to my pre-pregnancy weight of 156lbs (that's after losing from 240lbs awhile back). Right now I'm working on my food choices and have cautiously dipped my toe back into exercise (with my dr's consent). Can't wait to get to know you ladies better. :)

I've been avoiding 3FC because of that scarey malware warning. :eek: I'm so happy to be able to get here safely again. :)

I made it to 180.4 on Friday but derailed my trip to the 170s with a massive pigout at my nephew's grad party Saturday night. Picnic food is my nemesis! And homemade ice cream...omg. :drool:

I have been in the 180s for too long. I think it is time to get serious again and get the scale moving. So I am joining. And not a moment too soon as I have a wedding to attend on Saturday and my first long beach weekend. Both usually come with bad choices so my main goal is to weigh at least the same on Tuesday. Hopefully, that will be accomplished with lots of swimming and a bit of running.

Hi Mozzy, is the scale any better this morning?

Not for me, I'm still hanging around 181-ish and unwilling to change my ticker! :)

It's getting old losing and gaining the same 2,3,4 lbs over and over. This heat and humidity and TOM is killing me with water retention.

I don't have any plans that involve being around non-OP food so I have no excuse not to eat right. I do need to be more consistent with my exercise, for some reason I've been kind of slacking.

Well I have been gone roughly 6-7 weeks. My fiancee came home from his work (he works up north for half the year) so I had to readjust to his way of eating and find a way to still loose weight hahaha...well it took me 6-7 weeks but I did it lol. Only 3.5lbs since then but thats when in the last couple weeks of adjustment. I should now be back on track , no more maintaining, hopefully. I'm 187.6-187.8 today. So I fell out of the 190s thread when I was last on this site. So now I am joining you ladies here. Hoping to be in the 170s by beginning of august. Hopeing lol

Yes it is Mozzy! Sometimes when I look back it seems like this has taken forever and others it seems like it has flown by. I started in Jan 2012 (minus 5 month break). But glad I did! I keep telling myself this isn't a race and as long as I'm being true to myself eating right and exercising I'm doing the right thing even if I'm maintaining at the moment.

Yesterday was the first loss I've seen in like 2-3 weeks. I have those periods where I keep losing the same weight over and over. I'm glad to say I'm halfway thru the 170's this morning and getting anxious to see the 160's. Haven't seen those in years!

It gave me a dozen different readings today before it settled on an arbitrary number. I've had it about ten years and it's served me well, but I'll throw it out in a heartbeat if it shows a five pound gain again lol

Well the scale wasn't as bad as I thought it would be....up 1.2 from the weekend. Ran my butt off this morning and hoping to be back at my lowest next day or two!

I got rid of that pound I gained from the weekend...my scale actually showed a new low but I'm afraid to take it. I'll see if it sticks around tomorrow then I'll consider it for real :)

I hit my lowest today of 171.0 and hope it stays put! I really need to watch what I eat today, there's too much yummy stuff around today. I want to see those 160's so bad!

We have almost exactly the same stats!

My high was 255-256, I started actively dieting at 242, now I'm 184-185.

I have been getting complacent lately, but I'm still plugging along....

This week has been a roller coaster!
It's shark week and I've been ravenous. I've been eating like a pig and my weight is all over the place :(

Hi everyone! I've come to come play, too! For real, not just stalking!

Today was my second day in a row of 189.x (189.8 yesterday, 189.6 today) (and during TOM at that!) I hit 189.8 a couple of times on my travel scale while I was gone but didn't trust it--but two days in a row after several days at 190.0--I'll trust that!

It's about time :-). But then, it's only been slightly over 6 months (6 months + 5 days), and I'm down 40 lbs. Today, for the first time, for some reason, I actually feel noticably thinner.

There is nothing thin about a woman who is barely 5'2" who weighs 189.6 lbs. There's just not. But my thighs are thinner and move more easily. There's more room in my desk chair, even when I tuck my leg under myself. My hands and arms don't hit my hips when I walk as much as they used to. I can go up and down stairs without using the stair rail. Somehow, 40 lbs is the magic number that makes me feel as if I've accomplished a lot.

It also is the magic amount that moved me from "severely obese" into merely "obese"--I think that's worth celebrating, too.

If I can figure out how, I'm going to post comparison pictures tonight!

189 even this morning--I don't ever want to see a '9' in the second digit place again! My weight hasn't been this low in 10 years--this is about what I weighed when I met my husband 10 years ago!

Fortunately, reaching this point has made me more determined, not made me complacent!

Although my next mini-goal is 184 (20% of original weight lost), 180 is my "can't wait to get to" number!

I had a restaurant meal last night and was worried, salmon and white fingerling potatoes - I never eat white potatoes, and 2 glasses of wine. But then we went for a long walk after before a movie and I woke up at a new low weight! 188.

I don't want to let myself get complacent even if I've made so much progress. I see my brother next month for the first time since February--and I haven't mentioned to him how much weight I've lost. (I say that like I only have 1 brother--I have 3) I was (and looked) so big in his wedding pictures 2.5 years ago--I intend to look much smaller in the pictures from his son's bar mitvah. I'm 45 lbs down from the wedding (my highest weight).

(And since he'll be keeping his son, even if he didn't keep his 2nd wife, he'll be looking at the bar mitvah pictures!)

For me, the last four days have been 188.2, 187.8, 188.2, 187.2, so I changed my ticker to 188.

I'm mentally planning out my shopping expeditions. I'll need to buy shorts and/or capris before my trip to San Diego in August--I think I only have one pair of shorts that fits, and one pair of wearable (but too big) capris. I need to buy a dressier dress for the trip, too--my nephew's bar mitvah. I still haven't heard from my brother where it is and what time of day so I'll know what is appropriate. (Invitations should be going out soon)

I don't have any casual summer dresses that fit--I've worn one or two this summer but they're really too big.

I guess I do need a real shopping trip!

Thanks, girls! I'm so glad I'm finally here. Every time I arrive at the threshold of a new decade, my body seems to want cling onto that 0 for at least a week or two.
Anyway, remember when I annouced that I was 189.9 this morning? Totally not true. I weighed in again at noon because, you know, that 189 is a mighty fine number, and a couple of hours had gone by. Who knows, someone might have snuck up on me and nicked my 8. That kind of crime happens all the time, right? So I decided to check. 187.6. Hmm. Weird. What to do? So I checked again in the afternoon: 187.6. And then once more in the evening, just for good measure. 187.6.
Hmm. Weird. I'm not complaining, though. Let them have that 9! I'll make do with the 7 ;)
So I guess that means I'm officially here now. For real :carrot:


Beth - whatever you do, don't wear clothes that are way too big! I've learned that lesson a couple of days ago when all of a sudden the whole wide world could take a good look at my underwear (well, could have taken, if anyone had been around) ;)
Seriously, though, you've done so well thus far and it's way more fun to wear clothes that actually fit... so yay for a midterm shopping trip? ;)

jente--I definitely don't want that to happen!

I had to wear an outfit that was a full size too big this morning, since it was the only "appropriate" thing I had for the event. I felt like a little girl playing dressup. (I've only worn the outfit twice--just bought it in April.) Right now, my 18s are too big, but I think most 16s would be tight. In about two weeks, I'll be doing a significant amount of shopping--about 4-5 more pounds and I think most 16s would fit.

In the meantime, I'm going to have to put darts in the waists of my jeans. I'll be sewing tonight for BFF (I do all of her mending), so I'll do my own jeans at the same time. It takes about 10 minutes a pair. Once they're too big the second time, they get replaced.

I am not complaining--it's a great problem to have.

We're sure being quiet in the 180s!

I'm down to 187.6 this morning, after a couple of days of 188.4 and one of 188.6. I'm reconciling myself to that I won't reach my 180 goal by my nephew's bar mitvah next month. However, I've lost a lot of weight since I last saw my brother and that pleases me :-).

I was 235 at his wedding (second marriage) 2.5 years ago, and now I'm 188. We have a lot of family on the west coast, and so I'll see many of those people at the bar mitvah that I haven't seen since then. When I look at the pictures from the wedding, there's really an incredible difference. So, even if it isn't 50 lbs this year, it'll be 50 lbs from my high weight, since I'm sure I can lose 3 more pounds by then.

And in other good news, my wedding ring is twisting on my finger--it's not in any danger of falling off, but it's no longer snug enough to stay in its assigned place!

I've been quiet because I had a pretty stressful week and virtually no time to do anything fun on the computer. All that in that sticky, muggy 38C heat (um, if I'm not mistaken that should be around 100F), which is decidedly too hot for me. And it doesn't look like any of that will change next week.
So 2 am or not, here I am.

Anyways, I weighed in at 184 this afternoon.
Hmm, maybe stress and heat do have their perks after all ;)

Hey girls!

I'm just here for a flying visit before I need to get back to work. But I really want to keep myself accountable at the moment because I'm so, so, sooo close to one of my major mini goals: if I'm not mistaken, I'm only, like, 4 pounds away from being overweight. Not obese, but actually overweight. For the first time ever (well, ever-ish ;) ). It's such an exciting thought.

Um, yes. I was up a bit after that little candy intermezzo, though not by much (183.1 or .2 or .3, somewhere in that neighborhood. My scale and I agreed to disagree on the exact number ;) ). Today I'm back at 182.9, so I guess I must have been closer to 183.1 or something like that.
So not so bad, no damage done.
To be honest, I have no idea why the 190s and 180s have been so good to me thus far, but I'm thrilled. And very, very grateful.

Like Mozzy, I've slowed down on the losing path, but I'm doing what I need to be doing and just need to be confident that the scale will reflect that. I know my clothes do.

BTW, where in Germany are you? I lived in Ramstein, Hahn, and Traben-Trarbach (and a few other places) in the 3 years I was teaching on US military installations.

I've had a rough couple of months. I had to battle it out with my ole friend Mr. Depression in June and then July was a hormone nightmare. It's taken me six weeks to lose 3.5 pounds but I'm finally back on track and am .02 away from my goal of losing 50 pounds. I'm gonna set a new goal and make a new ticker tomorrow.

I've missed everyone! Sorry about my vanishing act. :hug:

Life has been super busy those past couple of weeks, hence my absence ;)


Beth - I'm in the northernmost corner of what is considered the South here: a couple of hours north of Nuremberg. So two states over from where you lived. How did you like it here?

August rolled around - and my body decided it was time for a break. I had been stuck at 182 since the first day of August. Literally.
But this morning, the scale finally budged: 181.2. Yay!
Which seems to put me at a BMI of 30.1. So close, soooo close...

Aaand I fit into a size 16 today. A regular size 16. Not a vanity-sized 16, but an actual, regular 16 :carrot:
I even had to take the size 18 back to the shop because it was too big... that was a new one for me :o

I've lost 45 lbs so far and am at a bit of a roadblock - I'm not as disciplined in saying no these days and my weight loss has slowed down. So I am trying to figure out what my new mini-goal will be. I was thinking it would be the half way mark -50 lbs loss ... Anyways I hope to post again soon!

Welcome CakeBatter--and Happy birthday! (Today is DH's birthday--I didn't make him a cake)

I was 182.6 this morning (after a, um, [TMI] productive bathroom morning) (More TMI: it's still something I only manage every 3-5 days).

I'm more than ready to get to the next decade--179 is calling me! If the scale is still 182 something in the morning, I'll update my ticker and my next mini goal (which is actually 180--exactly 50 lbs--and exactly half way to goal)

Like Mozzy with her new lower calorie goal, I'm feeling re-energized right now--and very motivated. Part of my motivation is practical--size 18 pants are too lose. Size 16s vary but are mostly a bit tight. I'm not buying more 18s but I've got to be comfortable!

Have any of you done any bra shopping while losing weight? I pulled some "put away" bras out of the closet a few weeks ago, but actually went shopping yesterday. They say 75-80% of women wear the wrong size bra. That is untrue--100% of women do, since all the size calculators give different numbers--and it's impossible to wear the right size on every calculator!

The calculators I used said things from 34H (really--where do you find an "H" bra?) to 42A (don't think so). At my highest weight, I was a 42DD. I'm not an "A" cup in any world--even at my lowest weight, pre-kids, I wore a 34B.

So, I went shopping and brought home 4 bras, all by Olga, all 38DD. I'm wearing a new one today and it's incredibly comfortable.

I have no faith in bra size calculators!

Thanks Beth :) I'm back up to 189 this morning after eating 3 garlic bread sticks at dinner last night, smh :) But I'll do better today :crossed: I've been there on sizes also drives me nuts being in between sizes. :) I wore the wrong size bra for years but finally took my daughters advice and went to Victoria's Secret and let her do the fitting. I love their bras but they are so expensive.

Hi all,

It feels like I've been in the 180s forever and am finally moving down and have the 170s in my sights. I hit 189 on July 6th--I've been bouncing around between 186 & 188 for a while, so I'm thrilled to be losing again. I'm less than three pounds from halfway! I was losing 2 lbs/week for several months but lately it's been less than a lb/week.

Like mozzy, I'm recommitting this month--I have a party this weekend and one the weekend after and I am NOT going to allow myself to eat nonstop. I want to get into the 170s more than I want to eat party food.

Having the 50 lb mark so close is really motivating me!

I haven't been posting because I still haven't "officially" made it into the 180's :(

This last while has been tough -- the last week of August felt like the last bit of summer for me. I took Fridays off for the month -- which really threw me off track. I do much better when I am limited to eat what I brought for lunch.

Like Beth - I am near my halfway mark as well. I want to loose a total of 100 lbs, and hitting 187 lbs will be my halfway mark. I was also loosing, on average, 2lbs per week until about the middle of August. Once I got into onerland I guess I felt like I could take a bit of a break. But I think that is bad thinking.

I want to recommit to my weightloss, but I feel like I am used to cheating now... like it's "not so bad"....

Do you have any tips for getting back on track half-way through your weight loss journey?

It's official! I'm in! Weighed in at 188.2 lbs last night :)

I am super excited!!! I was in a big slump there for the last month and a half so my health coach recommend I try a "kick start" program.

I knew I was about half-way through my weight loss journey, so I am treating this as my fresh start to get to the finish line!! I really want to wear a bikini during our winter vacation to somewhere warm!!

The Kick Start worked -- it was only two days (Monday and Tuesday) and consisted of special juice, two servings protein, two servings fat, 5 servings of vegetables. Basically this made my cheese and crackers on Wednesday feel like a real treat!! This resulted in the weight loss, so now I feel back on track and determined to stay on program.

I've got a fitness exam next Tuesday -- so now I need to focus on passing that. Its crazy to think that only 3 months ago I could barely run for 30 seconds and now I can run 5 km in 35 min. (I know that is not the fastest time, but I am so happy that I can do it).

I'll try posting more now that I am back on track!!

I'm still hanging in at 185. Never in a million years thought I would have come this far so still finding it hard to believe it will continue. I live with the constant dread that 1 day its all just going to stop moving downwards. Until then... even if its at a snails pace and going downwards I shall continue :)

Yay! Weighed in at 187.6 (down 0.6) - every bit counts!

I made some amazing turkey meatballs last night!
I stuff my meatballs with 1/4 packet of the light laughing cow cheese (a soft white cheese) and bake it in the oven and ate them plain - I don't think I'll ever go back to beef meatballs again - the turkey keeps the cheese inside, unlike beef meatballs. Anyways ... I like to cook if you haven't noticed ... I like this diet because it is forcing me to try new recipes or modify old favorites.

Anyways, plan today is to go for a run in the a.m. And maybe some golf this afternoon! Oh - and I made my favorite protein shake to date : 200 ml milk, 4 ice cubes, I scoop vanilla protein powder, 1/2 banana , 1/2 c blueberries!! Going to make one right now :)

Hey Mozzy... Happened to me sometimes where at certain weights I keep oscillating up and down.. One clean day can make things move downward in my experience... Hope it does for you as well!

P.S : Just saw that we are pretty much the same height, weigh around the same and currently and have similar goal weights as well.... yaaay!!!!

A second morning at 180.0 -- I updated my ticker and set my next mini-goal. I've learned that mini-goals of about 5 lbs work best for me--it helps me feel successful.

I want to get into the 170s--I've been in the 180s for a long time. But I'm also thrilled to be at 50 lbs down--that's halfway for me.

We can all do this--we want it-we can do it!

Hi Rennie..... Glad to find you here.. always wanted to buddys to weight loss together and being at the same start line is always great... I am trying to stick to 1200 calories everyday and make atleast 10,000 steps a day for 4 times a week. Other days I hit the gym for 30 mins... Some weight training may be say twice a week...

Just as you asked me, I realize that do not have an actual plan that I am following but just go with the flow.. may be I should think of a plan to stick to..

P.S: I try to avoid eating outside as much as possible and having breakfast helps me to be within 1200 calories and not binge eat

P.P.S: Would definitely like to know your plans as well

niauah, I am using MFP to count calories, carbs, protein and fiber. It has me at 1300 calories per day. I'm not doing any exercise but in the last 3 days just by not eating all of the junk that I eat on a norm I am down 3.8lbs. I know most of it as always in the beginning is water so I am really hoping to stick to this. I just need to figure out how to get all of my calories in so that I am not under nourished. Which pedometer do you use? I really want to get a good one. I'm diabetic and I must start moving again to get this under control.

This mornings weigh in 186 down one pound, feels good.

179.6 this morning! 179.6!!!! I was so incredibly thrilled. I was trying to remember the last time I was in the 170s and I really don't know. I think I was about 160 in October 1999 and gained a lot really quickly on medication--but never recovered to that after various climbs. It's definitely been more than 10 years--I'm smaller now than my husband has ever seen me--or than my kids really remember.

So i'll check in here for a little longer--but am going to post in the 170s!!!!!

I wish I could do that as well and lose so much in 3 days but I have waivered a bit last couple of days and I am +0.6 lbs than the weekend weigh in.. Makes me sad :( but wat u said has motivated me to do whatever it takes to reach 187 by end of month.. (I know easier said than done)

As for the pedometer, I use a Omron HJ-321 Tri-axis Pedometer with Calories Burned.. I bought this on from Amazon for around $17 and have found it to be pretty much accurate so far.. There are more precise ones but I did not want to spend on it much. This one is handy and I carry it 99% of the times with me.. It is good and works for me. I have owned it for the last 2 months.

I could not post the link to it here as I am new here and dont meet the requirements yet :(

This morning's weigh in is 188.9 :( Need to move the last 2 lbs down...

Weighed in at 185.4 lbs last night -- I do weigh-ins with my personal health coach on Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's -- but overall we look at my weekly progress.

I agree it can be stressful to focus on the day-to-day change because it is dependent on so many factors, but I find if I miss a day for whatever reason (eg. a holiday), I feel like I have a "free pass" for a couple days. So I really like that I have to weigh in three times a week to keep me on track. And if I get off track, we talk about what happened and she provides me with strategies to avoid it again (like painting my nails at night time instead of pigging out on a bag of chips!!)

So... cruising through the 180's finally!! I hope to be outta this decade before Halloween :carrot:

Awww! I hope you two see a drop soon. I had so much trouble getting to the 180s last time I tried to lose weight, I ended up losing my motivation and regained a bit. I believe it was severe sleep deprivation with my baby that kept me stalled. Now that she is sleeping better and I am sleeping better things seem to be going better.

I have a 10 day travel vacation coming up though. Eeep!

I've got a girls' night tonight. My ladies are the best - I have several restaurants we frequent where I know what I can eat to stay within my points. We choose one of those restaurants and meet up. I am usually the only one eating healthy but I always stick with the rule "never open the menu." I know what I'm eating before I go; I log it beforehand and stick with it. I always have a blast.

niauah, thanks I just read this today because after that post I was back in the 190's. I'll have to look up the pedometer. I sure need one. I read we are supposed to take 10,000 steps a day. I wonder how many I actually do.

Try calorie cycling (point cycling) and see if that will get things moving for you. :) Good idea with the menus at restaurants, great tip to know. I just told a friend about that yesterday but couldn't remember where I had read it.

today I weighed in at 184.6 down 1.4 from yesterday. I weighed 185.8 on 9/26 then went back up to the 190's so I am glad to be below that. I've just got to continue to be prepared. That way there aren't many slip-ups :D

I'm down to 185 after my vacation water weight came off. Woot! I can't believe how close I am to my first goal.

Has anyone heard about only losing 10% at a time and maintaining for at least 3 months before losing another 10% to reset your "set point"? I did it after my first 10% by accident just because I lost my motivation but this time, after hearing about it, I can see how it's a good idea but I'm torn. I want to keep losing.

188.8 today! After a major slowdown, I've lost, in just the last few days, all the pounds I wasn't losing in the last few weeks. Crazy, didn't really do anything different ... except not exercise at all this week due to a crazy work schedule. Usually not exercising is recipe for a stall, but in this case it worked the opposite way.

So although this is my first day in the 180s, the fact that I'm down so much makes me think I'm out of the 190s for good.

And my husband weighs 188 ... so maybe in the next few days I will weigh less than him again at last!

Well that wonderful "whoosh" downward on the scale happened over the weekend and I weighed in at 178.8 lbs !! Wahoo!!! I think its safe to say I've made it to the next decade after a long stall in the 180's!!

I've had to find a new fall/winter routine and get over the fact that winter is pretty much here :( so I started with a new game plan last Monday to do my runs as soon as I get home from work on Mondays and Wednesdays (and Saturdays) because I pretty much abandoned my nice summer runs on Tues/Thurs. So I think that was the trick to get me over this speedbump.

Interesting tidbit, my younger sister has always had the perfect body and she is 9 months pregnant right now and I finally weigh less than her- lol I am hoping she will join me on my weight loss journey when she is ready too - but she'll have a big advantage. I think she got back to her pre baby weight after 3 months with her first (140 lbs). ... If only we all could be so lucky!!

Hi everyone--

I didn't manage to stay in the 170s--climbed way too high briefly, and am now at 180.2.

I'm hoping/planning to be back in the 170s next week. I don't have any stressful food temptation events planned for a while--I do fine if I stay away from parties and buffets!

I intend to start posting more regularly again--having and being a cheering squad is really motivating for me--and I need to keep doing that!

I did something I don't usually do this morning--weighed more than once.

First weighing 179.8
Second one (with the intent of showing DH my success): 180.0
Third one (after soaking in the hot tub): 179.0

I'm not quite ready to claim the 170s decade, but I can tell I'm really close!

We don't have much planned this weekend and that's actually good for my eating--no parties, no difficult restaurants! Getting a glimpse of 179 is pretty motivating!

Here's to an OP weekend for all of us!

Keeping at the same time of day, preferably when you wake up, is going to be more consistent. Depending on my day, the evening weight can be all over the map. Also a weekly weight, as opposed to a daily, will show less of the wild fluctuations.

I weigh every morning just to keep myself in check but only really use my Sunday morning/before breakfast/with clothes weight for tracking progress.

I weigh first thing in the morning, after the bathroom, before showering--no clothes. I don't let myself step on the scale during the day or in the evening.

I don't have a "weigh-in" day, though--once the scale has been at a number 2,3,4 days, then I treat it as my new number.

I'm still hanging out at 180.0 -- I have high hopes of this coming week, though--staying on track should be easy every day but Tuesday--and I have to decide what I'm going to do for our dinner out with friends on Tuesday. One margarita, perhaps fajitas, since they don't have the high cheese ingredient of most Mexican food.
