Let's move in the Month of June!

This is our monthly exercise challenge thread. All are welcome, whether your goal is to walk ten minutes a day or train for a marathon.

State your goal and track it throughout the month with a supportive group encouraging each other to meet our goals. Gardenerjoy will compile our exercise goals into a list. As each goal is met during the month, it gets turned RED in celebration.

June is going to be my month to shine for exercise. I'm going to be consistent and make each workout count!
I will be doing the 30 day squat challenge- goal #1
I will work out for 40 min/ 4 days week- goal # 2 (160 min wk)
I will be able to run the entire dirt road without having to walk by the end of the month- goal # 3
I know I can do this! This is my month to prove to myself that I am serious and dedicated.

June 3- stairs up 6 floors, 25 mins treadmill, 20 mins elliptical (slow day)

June 5- 20 mins treadmill (need to up the running), 30 mins elliptical

I suffered a back injury 8 weeks ago, so I can't do too much exercise yet.
But I need to do 30 minutes of stretches a day..10 minutes walking, and 5 laps in my pool.
Plus I am going to try the 30 minute workout at my gym every other day.
I just started walking unassisted a week ago, so I am in really bad shape with weak muscles.
All of us need to stick this out every day this month to make a difference in our looks and health!

Ok, baby steps here... I've got the motivation, it's finding the time with an infant that's my problem! This month I'd like to do 10 runs again, and I'll add 5 days of strength training. That will mean I'll get some sort of exercise in at least half the days of the month.

So far so good. Today was difficult to get the motivation up, but I did it and thats what matters :) I think I need to get used to exercising earlier inthe day so I'm not spending all day putting it off.

I have a problem with one of the cruciate ligaments in my knee. I have been sworn off all exercise bar gentle walking until I can be seen by a phsiotherapist. Very frustrating as jogging has consistenty been the only thing that pulls the pounds off me.

I know its counter productive, but in light of this I'm taking a day off the diet lol

Thanks curvynotlumpy. I really have caught the running bug. It is such excellent exercise.

Ma-hu-sive exercise day today. Ran in the gym in the morning. Managed 3.1 miles but could not make it to 3.5 today.

Did weights at the gym with a friend at lunch.

So.... the walking in place of running just isn't going to happen. Knee was achey all last night after walking to town and back (45 mins each way at a gentle walk).

Am absolutely dying to get out there and run :'( so I shall run vicariously through Ian! Well done on your 5K :D

I'm also trying out intermittent fasting this week. Think I might try two long fast a week and see how that goes.

curvynotlumpy sorry I didn't see that you asked me a question :)...I don't use any weights during this squat challenge. It's just the basic squat. But I'm telling you...it is kickin my butt. Today I do 110. I have already lost roughly an inch off my thighs and .5 inch off my waist. I am roughly a week and a half into it. By the end of the challenge I do 250! It's tough, but I love it. I see such great changes...especially to my thighs and buns!

Did another 5k and then did weight training at lunch!

6/3 - Did 50 minutes of weights at the gym. Will hopefully play doubles tennis tonight if the rain holds off.

6/2 - Ran 2.6 miles in 26 minutes.
6/3 - Did 50 minutes of weights at the gym. Will hopefully play doubles tennis tonight if the rain holds off.
6/4 - Ran 3.5 miles in 35 minutes on a treadmill.
6/5 - Did 55 minutes of weights at the gym.
6/6 - Ran 3.1 miles in 30 minutes. Did 50 minutes of weights at the gym.
6/7 - Did 1 hour 10 minutes in the gym lifting weights.
6/8 - Ran 5k in 31 minutes-ish.

It feels good to meet my exercise goal, because I did not meet my weight loss goal.

Ok to sum things up:

1: Exercise 25/30 days--YES!
2: Walk/Run/Bike 150 miles--YES!
3: Walk the dog 8 times--NO, not even close!
4: Do 1 complete push up--ALMOST! I didn't work at it as much as I should but I could definitely hold the position and bend my arms but not all the way down. So, I made progress but not a real push up--not yet. I need to work at it every day.

I lost 4.6 pounds this month. Wahoo!
