I'm in!!

I want to lose 6 kg by Labor day, so that's 2kg per month. Normally my diet is supposed to make me lose 100g per day, so I could theoretically lose 3 kg per month.

At which rate are you guys losing?

I'm glad you are in :) I know it's a long stretch but I love the season between those two holidays - great time to be active, but also great food - at least not as bad as that thanksgiving/christmas/new years goodie fest :)

When I go on plan I typically lose 2-4 lbs a week but I'm bigger. I've been slacking lately - absolutely no accountability to my eating or exercise. I haven't budged since March-ish, up about 4 or 5 lbs since then. I'm going to do 37 lbs, that will get me at the lowest number I got last time I started losing :)

I made a daily weigh in log sheet as a .docx file that goes from may 27 - labor day and some, if you're interested in me sending it to you, PM me your e-mail address. I like daily weigh ins, I always lose a lot more when I do because I love forcing myself to be accountable.

I'm in and I hear ya' motivated chickie! I've backslid myself and have half-heartedly tried to get back on track several times without much success. Now's the time to fully commit. I'm going to be flexible-I want to lose between 20-25 lbs. Honestly, I've been so unsuccessful keeping weight off in the last year that any evidence of the needle moving in the downward direction will be its own accomplishment ;)!

I'm in! My goals MAY be slightly hindered because I'm getting hitched come early July and after that we are going to start trying to conceive (yikes). But so long as it doesn't happen by Labor Day, here are my goals:

CW: 170lbs
GW: 155lbs (I think this may be my ultimate goal weight. I refuse to change my ticker until I actually reach the current goal, lol).

I'm also going to strive to post here everyday, as well as keep track of my intake on MFP. No more cheat days (however, my wedding day and the week immediately following while I am on my honeymoon in Mexico are off limits lol...)!

Good luck to everyone, let's kick some serious butt this summer!

I began my weight loss journey over a year ago and have shed nearly 50 full pounds. But I've been lazy these past few months and haven't lost a single pound, at least not long term. So I start again today! All I have to do to reach my goal is lose slightly more than a pound every 7 days from now until September 2nd.

I had some NSVs today, and am gonna post those separately, but I was thinking of you guys and this challenge today as I was at the mall food court and bypassed all the tasty burger spots and ordered my 6inch veggie delight on wheat at Subway!

Also, I went to the mall to maybe exchange a medium size dress for a size small. I wasn't sure if the small would be too tight. Welllll, it isn't quite perfect, I mean I could wear it if I had to, but I'd prefer for it to be a smidge looser...but I got it anyways thinking if I do well on this challenge then it will fit perfectly! Why buy a medium that may not fit well later this summer and that I won't be able to keep for next year?

Feeling good about this challenge!!

How are YOU guys doing today???

EmLay
05-28-2013, 06:23 PM
That's awesome KindaSorta! Man, I don't think even at my eventual goal (whatever that may end up being) I will EVER in my life wear a small anything. Darn height, crazy big rib cage, and linebacker shoulders! I always feel good, too, when I bypass "bad" food for the healthy, body-loving food. It's gotten a lot easier since I went plant-based :)

Dottington, you are SUPER close to 50lbs lost! That has to feel fantastic!

Hi all! I'm not great at challenges mostly because I don't post a lot. This is a great challenge though, so I'll give it a go. My loss has been stalled for the last couple months, but thank God I've maintained (which is a victory in itself!).

I've been doing great the last couple weeks with motivation and have lost 3 more lbs. So, my goal in the next 14 weeks is to lose at least 15lbs, I'm praying I lose 20 or more. I could probably lose 30 if I was super dedicated (because I'm larger) but I'm keeping it moderate because there are a lot of events and get-togethers going on this summer with tasty foods I'll be allowing for in my plan. Besides, I'm finding this time that slow and steady really does win the race. In the past I'd lose LOTS of weight very quickly and it all came back on almost as quickly. This time it's been a slow journey but I haven't gained any back and I'm so grateful.

Anyway, I don't know how much I'll post but I'll be checkin' in!

I was going to aim for 14 lbs in 14 weeks, however- 19 lbs will put me at a normal BMI. I cannot even fathom being that small. I don't know if its possible to lose this quickly at this weight, but I guess I'll find out!

I just weighed in and I'm at 171 pounds, which means I'm only 11 away from my goal weight. I'm really excited as my weight loss has slowed down tremendously the last little bit but I'm still making progress.

I am planning on starting a weight lifting routine Monday so I know that'll effect the scale, most likely in increases. I need to remember that the scale is not the most important measurement though I still can't wait to hit the 160s!

I hope Jolly does not mind but I went ahead and created a spreadsheet for this challenge (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ai529T1jrukfdGpQall1cWtxYmxlQTAwV1puM0ctc UE#gid=1) (link here) and you all are more than welcome to use it. The LBS LOST column in yellow on the spreadsheet does need to be manually updated often to see your progress- I am more than willing to do that for those who you do not know how to do so whenever I check in on the spreadsheet (which will be very often, LOL.)

I'm so in on this challenge! I need all the motivation I can get!

CW- 168lbs (mostly water weight, I hope!)
GW- 153lbs

15lbs for the challenge, a bit hefty but I'll try my best! I would love to look better in time for my annual Labor Day trip to Branson!

Looking forward to it!

That's great you made a spreadsheet.

I wasn't able to access the spreadsheet without requested permission from the owner. So I sent a request. But wonder if the permissions can be changed to people registered on the site.

I'm in too! Goal to lose 15lbs by labor day.
Starting weight 145 I'm up 2 lbs :(
Goal weight 130
I also signed up for a half marathon in October so that will force me to start running more to train for that. The problem is when I workout I'm more hungry and eat more. So a lot of times I just stay at the same weight. I have more muscle but I'm not any thinner. I need to start filling myself up with more veggies but I just want sugar and carbs! Lol.

It's gotten a lot easier since I went plant-based

Emlay - let's make a deal, you can live half the year in my size small dress if I can live half the year at your height! I often wish I were taller :) how is plant based working out for you? I went vegetarian about a year and a half ago - which shocked me because I never thought I could give up my burger-for-every-meal habit.

Thanks Dottington!!

Weighed in today... Down 1 lb! Today is my dads birthday though, so I will have to navigate birthday/restaurant/festivities food. I ran 5 miles this morn and did a few strength exercises to try to offset incoming gorging...

Chickie32 - we're so close in stats! I have my goal at 135, but I have a feeling I'm gonna want to push that lower. I also signed up for a marathon in October - training officially starts next week. Here's to inspiring each other to soldier on!! :)

It's not a huge goal, but that would put me at my lowest weight ever :) I don't know how much weight I'm going to be losing this summer - right now I am training for a fall sport at college and working to build muscle more than lose weight, but I'm hoping they will go hand in hand this summer

KindaSorta- Deal! Lol.... The height is good for a few things, but mostly (especially when I've been heavier) I feel like some kind of godzilla freak. After going plant-based in February, I feel better than I have in my whole life. My body is working like a well-oiled machine, and is seemingly constantly shrinking. I love it. I never thought I could give up meat either, being the corn and beef fed midwestern gal that I am, but I do not miss it a single bit. Same with dairy and eggs (even cheese). I have found things that I like even better. Also, it is so awesome that you are training for a marathon. I really, really wish I enjoyed running.

Yesterday was a bad, bad day for me. We're talking pitcher of margarita and whole bowl of guac with deliciously fried and salty chips bad. (The Cubs beat the Sox, if any of you guys missed it :dizzy:) Therefore, I will be keeping my butt off the scale for the next few days. No need to discourage myself, just got to get back on track.

Emlay - Are you vegan or no dairy/vegetarian? I still eat dairy...well cheese and eggs. I use soy or almond milk. I'm not the healthiest vegetarian though cause I still don't eat enough fruits and veggies... I'm trying to work on that! My staple meal is whole wheat pasta with Trader Joe's meatless meatballs - love those things! Gotta cut down on the pretend food though and get some whole foods in there.

I had a similar Mexican food experience yesterday! No margaritas, but an endless basket of chips and salsa! I made the mistake of weighing myself this morn...so much for seeing that new low number I got on Thursday! Hopefully it'll get back down there soon :)

KindaSorta: I eat essentially a vegan diet, though I prefer to call it plant-based because of the negative connotations of the "vegan police", and that it implies more of an ethical viewpoint than a health-based option. I really have very little ethical problem with consuming animal products, though it is nice to know that my food choices have such a positive impact on the environment and the animal population. Also, I will never give up my honey. They can pry it from my cold, dead hands lol.

If you are trying to eat less processed foods, I can't recommend the Happy Herbivore cookbooks enough. SO many super quick, easy, and cheap recipes in there that make it easy to stay away from the processed junk. You can find some of the recipes at happyherbivore.com. :) I make the black bean burgers weekly.

Had some awesome food and exercise days this week, so I'm hoping that my weight will be down in a few days... I feel like I have been holding an extraordinary amount of water weight recently. Boo.

Finished the first week of the challenge. On the positive side, I exercised all 7 days by mostly walking, some running, and 1 day of biking. And I have lost 2 pounds.

But I had problems with overeating several days. I decided that I would log every bite of food in My Fitness Pal and that seemed to help. My goal this week is to stay on plan every day and to log food no matter what. No more hiding from my eating habits.

Good Monday to everyone. I hope we all had a good weekend. Scale remained at 170.1 this week. It's heating up in Northern California as well and I've been in indulging in lots of leafy green salads chock full of fresh veggies and lean protein. Haha re:vegan police. I also went vegetarian for health reasons and not so much animal reasons (although I'm sure if I watched some of those PETA videos I might feel differently....I sort of live in conscious denial about some of that stuff). I should say I'm mostly vegetarian, I do eat meat occasionally. I decided to try it after watching documentaries like Food inc and Forks Over Knives.

Thanks for the Happy Herbivore tip! I will check it out :)

I'm happy to see that there's several folks here on the cusp of wonderland!! I get so excited when I see folks accomplish that goal! :)

Motivated chickie - way to go with the exercise!! Keep it up!

I've had a few bad meals since my weigh in on Thursday, ugh! Eating out sucks for me, I just make poor choices because I feel like if I'm gonna pay for something, I'd better frickin' enjoy it. Oh well...now I've got a few days to try and make up for it before my next weigh in. Back on track - no restaurants! I wanted to go watch the hockey game somewhere tonight, but in order to loaf in front of a TV at a bar or restaurant you kind of have to continuously eat or drink... Think I'm staying home :)

This^^^KSA! I'm with you. I made a poor restaurant choice on Saturday night. Perused menu before arriving, and had even made a good choice. Once our waiter showed up all logic and sound decision making went out the window! :o I could just feel the sodium roiling around in my body, and like I knew it would, the scale shot up almost three pounds. The thing that is most disappointing is KNOWING exactly what the result would be and still making the choice I did. :?:

Yesterday it was at 168.5, and I'm pretty sure I'll be back down there by tomorrow. I don't know why I wouldn't be, because I have stuck to my calorie limits, and exercised on top of it.

I'm getting SO frustrated with being stuck at this darn 170... it's like no matter what I do, it won't let me leave. I have been sticking (with the exception of ONE day) to my calories, and I just don't understand why the scale isn't moving. Does anyone else have this problem? Do you have any suggestions for getting over that dreaded plateau? I do not see how, while eating 1220 calories a day, I am not losing. Grrrr. Sorry, rant over. Guess I'll just keep plugging along.

Made a bad Restaurant choice on Saturday too! We were in San Diego for the day, and spent a lot of time walking around, getting some exercise, and BAM. There was the best and I mean the BEST Pizza and Wine Bar I have ever been to. Just sitting there smelling at me!

So we ate, and drank. I am up the 4lbs this week, but I have to say...that grilled veggie pizza and more importantly the company I was with..totally worth it. Even if it is annoying LOL

I have no great advice, but I have been stuck between 168.9-171.6 for almost a month! It's driving me bonkers that I cannot seem to get into the 160s. I decided that I would give up bread for a week and see if it jump starts my weight loss again. After 2 days, I'm down .8 pounds, but it's too early to tell if its really working or just the normal fluctuations I've seen all month! I want to get in the 160s so bad, and I don't want them to hang around forever like the 170s!
I think we will both get off this da#% plateau soon!!

This week I was recovering from digestive issues from last week and I noticed the scale wasn't moving down as the week went on. I'm actually a little bit constipated and I'm actually a pound heavier than last week. :( I've been eating at a caloric deficit and exercising a little bit as well. Oh well, it happens.

I'm really happy with my weight loss, but in full disclosure I went a little hardcore for the last couple of weeks in anticipation for some family coming into town this week (damage control). "Hardcore" meaning eating around 1200 calories a day rather than my usual 1500-1700 average which usually nets a 1-2lbs loss per week give or take. So, while I would be over the moon at 3 or more lbs per week, we'll see how it pans out.

Very pleased, though. I'm praying to stay steady or lose while my family is here. You know how that goes -- eating out a lot, temptation etc.

I hear you, I dread the going out. We just have to try and make good choices. If someone would do it with you your could split an appetizer, meal and desert. Then your only getting half the calories. I can never get my husband to agree to it though.

This^^^KSA! I'm with you. I made a poor restaurant choice on Saturday night. Perused menu before arriving, and had even made a good choice. Once our waiter showed up all logic and sound decision making went out the window! I could just feel the sodium roiling around in my body, and like I knew it would, the scale shot up almost three pounds. The thing that is most disappointing is KNOWING exactly what the result would be and still making the choice I did.

Curvy - yeah I agree! I don't know what it is, but if I'm at a tasty restaurant where I know I can eat a yummy burger and fries, chances are I'm just not going to be satisfied with a yummy salad (or anything else) because I KNOW what I'm "missing out" on. So although I may be full, I'm unsatisfied at the end of my meal. And then I have to pay for it on top of that. If I ate that salad at home, I'd probably think it was tasty and be fine...but the tasty burger and fries aren't an option at my home.

Jolly - sending you good house selling vibes!!

My weigh in is tomorrow and I'm hoping I haven't gained since last week. I ran yesterday, but my foot is still hurting, ugh. I was supposed to run today but am going to put it off until tomorrow to rest my foot. Isn't it always when you WANT to exercise that your body hurts so you can't? But all those days I don't want to and my body's great! Nice move, body, nice move.

FINALLY was able to weigh in this morning, coming in at 174.4. I have been struggling for the last two weeks with hovering at 175.6. But I know my head hasn't been in the game and I haven't been 100% on track with every bite taste and lick. It's game time though. I counted today and there are 14 weeks to Labor Day. That's a pound a week until then. Let's go team! How are you all staying on track with all of the summer temptations?

Jolly,... Selling your house is hard and I don't know if you have a realtor... but if you do, they will give you good advice. I hope that the price is good that you are asking for, as I know parts of the country the prices are going up. The interest rates just went up today to a HUGE 4% for a 30 year LOLOLOL When I started closings in '79 the interest rates were 21% in some cases (FHA) so I think that there are alot of buyers out there now too trying to get a house before the rates go up even higher... and being summer, please like buying houses before school starts. I know that it will happen for you, just try not to stress out about it. You usually have plenty of time to "pick up" the house before the buyers come over... Shoot I sold a condo with renters living in it and they killed my 2 year old carpet and I still sold it LOL You will be fine...

Now about getting back on plan... LOL I am commitment again even with my gain a few weeks ago... I know that I am doing what I need to do to lose weight (I also measured myself and have lost 5.5 inches (right sides only) since 5/5 :) yeah... I know you can do it too!!!!

I weighed in today and kind of cheated. This morning I was 147 (up a pound). Then I ate a small breakfast, went for a run, came home and showered. After that I weighed 146! Probably water weight loss from my running...but I'm taking the lower number for this week! So....holding steady. Kinda :)

Jane: totally jealous of the massage:)

JollyGreenSteen19
06-08-2013, 09:51 AM
I need to start exercising for sure. I would say my eating has it's mishaps of course but it's something you can more or less passively control with some will power. Exercise is much more of a time and expenditure commitment. I'm also extremely extremely hung over this morning so exercise sounds like torture right now. I haven't had a decent hang over in a few years. What does sound nice is a massage!! I'm jealous.

I'm a little confused on the spreadsheet. Mine doesn't seem to be updating? Despite I updated my weigh-in for the 10th as about 5 lbs lost it still says I have 41 lbs to go. I don't know anything about anything excel wise so I'm confuzzuled.

Selling the house has definitely topped out as one of the most stressful things I've done. I do trust it'll eventually sell, the problem is that it isn't my house (it's my husband and brother in law's... he moved out on short notice before we even got engaged and doesn't seem to think he has any responsibilities here despite being on the title and home loan, he's also a broke *** loser 17 years older than me just FYI) so I think it's a huge drag I'm stuck doing most of the work and going to be paying for most of the net loss up front seeing as I'm the one with the decent job and ability to save/invest money. Our net loss has to be below 10 grand or else we can't get a new home loan, which blows and seeing as I wasn't responsible for any of the financial aspects of it for the last 9 years leading to that kind of HUGE loss kinda pisses me off. Unfortunately I'm married in. Hugely hugely off topic but that's my rant for now :). On topic though, stress is bad for weight loss so I'm trying to just go with the flow - either way I won't own 2 houses and I *shouldn't* be homeless :) The most I'll be out is some sore disappointment should nothing come to pass.

wannaskipandlaugh
06-08-2013, 10:10 AM
HHMMM Jolly you could try a "short sale" selling the house for a loss and having the lender agree to a lower payoff amount (based on the value of the property) It would just hurt your husband and your brother in laws credit score.. but if you have had good timely payments.. you could probably qualify for a new mtg on your credit score value for a new house... Just thinking.. But I am sure that your realtor probably went over that scenerio with you all..

I think that someone has to change the spreadsheet... I hope that Amandie is reading,.., she is a wiz at that. I don't know excel sideways either LOL but you actually have to input the nos in the end columns to get the percentage to change :) Either way A LOSS and WOOHOO for you! getting closer to twoderland I would say! uh HUH!!!

JollyGreenSteen19
06-08-2013, 10:30 AM
Yeah unfortunately with the whole short sale scenario, we'll live here another decade if we have to before my husband would knowingly taint his good credit score. I guess that's fair.

Thank you! I hope it lasts, but we'll see in another week :) Good luck to you! I am happy I am creeping back to 2derville, I went off track for a good month or two.

Jennifer1966
06-08-2013, 10:32 AM
Jolly, I think Amandie changes the spreadsheet after we all put our weights in on the 10th. I'm not positive, but that's what happened last week! You are doing great!

amandie
06-08-2013, 10:48 AM
Wannaskipandlaugh is correct- I have to manually update it. In the yellow column, you will/should see a formula of =SUM({}-{}). So, For Jolly being #12 on the list, her formula in the yellow column should read as =SUM({B12}-{C12}), the B being the SW and C reflects WK 1 WI. So for WK 2 WI, you'd change the C12 to D12 to reflect WK 2's WI. Does that make sense? Sorry, I'm not very good at explaining things! :)

My apologies on lacking on updating the yellow columns regularly. I was frustrated a bit because some people keep messing with the last 3 columns (orange, yellow, red) and that meant I had to continually fix whatever they changed as well as update their current progress. For my sanity, please do not adjust the columns (especially yellow!) unless you know how.

Way to go on the losses, everyone!!! If you're stalled or have gained, don't worry! Just get back on track and keep doing what you're doing- IT WILL COME OFF!!!

PS- Jolly- thank you sooooo much for starting this challenge!!!!!! :)

I had such a better week for me even with TOM here so I am hoping for a good WI!!! :crossed:

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Jolly: adding exercise is hard but worth the pay off. Start with some strength training too. Start out small 20 minute walk then add 5 minutes daily. Try strenghth training 3 days a week. If your watching tv at night do side to side steps while watching. Also constant housecleaning goodexercise.

Did very well this week. I continued my daily exercise streak and did a long walk in the rain.

I was fiercely protective of my eating plan. I went out with friends four times (social week), which centered around food/alcohol each time. I stuck to plan every time I went out.

But on Friday, I went on a binge after dinner. I broke all of my rules, but was back on plan for the rest of the weekend. That's excellent progress for me, as I used to binge several times a week.

Down 3 pounds. Very pleased. :)

This week will be tougher as I'm going on a business trip. But I'll log into 3FC and keep my eye on the prize.

'Grats on fitting into all the rides.... must be an amazing feeling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've sworn off amusement parks in full after a huge embarrassing moment two summers ago (getting kicked off a ride and humiliated by a ride attendant.... it was the end of an otherwise bad evening). I was 30 or 40 lbs smaller two summers ago too. I'd like to go again but not until I'm under 250. Thanks Jolly and Carma!

It was nerve racking for sure, to stand in line wondering "will I or won't I". It sucks but I kept seeing larger people and asking my husband "am I that fat? Because if she can fit I can totally fit" so rude of me I know! It was weird because I also saw a bunch of people in those little scooters, and I just kept thinking about how close I was, and really still am to that.

Of course today was the owner of my company's birthday. His wife, my boss, made him a 5 layer chocolate and vanilla cake. My intent was to only have a very small piece, so as not to be rude. Yeah. Skinny mean girl, well not so skinny but she thinks she is, cut the cake into big pieces. Except for hers lol!! She came into my office an said *insert best mean girl voice here* "cake Aimee, do you have the points today?" Innocent comment/question from anyone but her. You know that girl, every office has one. Anyway, I just as fake sweet said "why yes I do Johanna, thanks for asking". Took the cake and ate the whole damn thing!

Ugh. So I totally self sabatoged, I physically feel like crap and I let stupid mean girl who is probably almost half my age, get under my skin!

Why do i do these things!

6/3: 260.4 (-3 lbs)

Goal weight: under 250

Just a place keeper -- I didn't even bother to weigh myself this past Monday because I've had out of town guests and you know how that goes. I did so well the first few days, but I had a birthday party for my daughter on Sunday and things kind of went out the window from there. Oh well, only two days of being ridiculous -- today I'm ending the day at under 1600 calories which for me nets a loss (when I average that) -- so, onward and upward. I'm praying when I weigh myself tomorrow it won't be too bad and I'll just keep reminding myself it's mostly just water bloat because no way did I eat an extra 3500 calories for X amount of days. Moving forward...

Amandie: thanks for being the score keeper. I promise I will stay out of the last 4 columns. ;)
35x35: visitors are hard. I agree you probably didn't drink as much water and had a few cheat foods. If your like me we have to keep working at it and water is part of that equation. If it was easy we wouldn't have called it a challenge.
Noggs: welcome to the challenge:hug:

Imthin: I agree. Love your name. Glad this challenge helped inspire you.

Lioness: keep up with the water intake. Next week it will be off.
GordonGirl: woo hoo for you.

According to the scale, I'm down 3 pounds this week (probably more water than fat). But I won't believe it until weigh day comes on Monday. This is the kind of motivation I need as I'm going on a business trip. For the rest of the week, I hope the scale stays put.

Thanks for updating the spreadsheet Amandie. It helps with motivation.

You guys!! I just did my official weigh in and I'm down 1.5 to 144.5! That's the lowest I've ever seen!

Although, I kinda cheated... Slept in today and so haven't had breakfast yet... I always try to weigh in as late in the morning as possible. I'm also going out to eat tonight, so I'm sure I'll be spending my next week trying to chase 144.5 again. But for now, I'm super excited!

Gratz to all who are making progress, and hugs and cheers to all who are trying!!! :)

I was stalled for 2 weeks (I know yours was alot longer and I am sorry bout that) and that drove me crazy... You have such fortitude to just continue thru it that you taught me that I can do the same. Thank you very much for being that inspiration! and yes your photo is just gorgeous...and I bet anything you are even prettier in person!! :)

I am new here and new to getting healthy. I could use all the motivation I can get.
I am currently at 223.6 lbs and I'm looking for 215 by labor day. I'm not shooting to high as I don't want to get discouraged if I don't get there. But anything extra would be great too.

Carma I totally hear you on that Monday weigh-in :D Last week I was up nearly 5 pounds after indulgent weekend and by the time Friday rolled around, I had lost all that bloat...again I pigged out on Saturday which means my weigh in on Monday will be much higher than my actual weight, ugh! -- I guess I should not worry too much about it...even after my pigged out weekends, over all trend is down.

Pleased with my progress so far. I had a business trip that didn't cause a problem and, for once, I didn't order room service. And I remain on my daily exercise streak.

Just checking in -- I haven't lost a pound since I weighed in on the 3rd. I actually went up a couple of lbs because of out of town family and also TOM is here. I weighed in today at the same weight as June 3rd so I'm praying to record a loss by Monday. Like I said, TOM is here so that also plays a role. Family left the 12th so I've been on plan since then. It's taken me about 10 days to undo their visit :P Ah well, at least it didn't send me on a several month bender, undoing half my progress (like it may have in the past). Thank God for small blessings!

I started a new job two weeks ago, nannying for a family. The first week I was losing weight as I was so busy and runing around. This week I was staying at the family home overnight as the parents are out of town. I found myself munching on chocolate chips and making cake pops with the teenageers at 11:30 at night. Gahhh! I thought for sure I have gained at least four pounds. When I stepped on the scale this morning I was up just a bit sitting at 174.6. I need to find a balance with this job. Luckily I'm done with the overnights...so here's to better eating!!

Just finished a 1.5 mile run. I ran the whole way and for 15 minutes straight!

I know the feeling of not being able to break past that "wall".... my goal was 316 to get a french mani.. for whatever reason I could never seem to break past 317. Now 2 months later I can't seem to get out of the 320's and really it's my own damn fault. I've been in a creative cooking/baking mood lately and of course I want to test all of my creations and eat the left overs :D. I haven't been exercising, I keep using the excuse of not being convenient or it's too hot and humid out. I've made progress though, down a few lbs for the month overall from 326 to 322ish.

Keep in mind ladies that as long as you're striving to do better than you did yesterday it's progress!!

I've been getting back to the point where I realize when I'm eating because I'm hungry and when I'm eating because I'm bored and snacky - going to bed hungry tonight and it feels satisfying in a weird way. I had a major blood sugar crash at work today around lunch which probably resulted in almost 700 unplanned calories - EEK between cracker sandwich pack, special k protein bar and a maple chocolate bar. Whoops. I bought some more satisfying breakfast food for work tomorrow so I won't crash again.

I made through a month of the challenge. The first three weeks were easiest as I lost a lot of water. This past week was incredibly tough especially when I saw my weight go up by 6 pounds to 155 during the week. Yikes! Maybe it was water, but I also ate terribly. It took the rest of the week to get it back down.

Today I weighed in at 147.6.

BUT I am super stoked. I took my nekkid pics yesterday to chart progress. I forgot to take them June 1, so I compared to April 1. I haven't lost any weight, and I can't seem to find many inches other than my thighs, but there is a huge difference in my pictures. My belly is pulling right up, and I'm even narrower through the rib cage. Figure that one out!

I don't even want to do this week's weigh in - I'm too frustrated with how I'm doing some exercise (today is day 5 in a row) but I'm GAINING. I don't even feel like I've been eating that much either, up to my full WW points and then some free fruit/veggies. I need to get away from the scale.

Non-scale victory today! I fit into a size 18 jeans, ya'll! To me, that's awesome -- since I'm short and all :) When I was at my biggest nearly 70lbs ago, 28's were tight and I was wearing mostly stretchy pants lol

I buy cute jeans at the thrift store one size smaller as a motivator. The key is to get them only one size smaller -- more than that actually depresses me because I feel like it takes so long to get in them. One size smaller means I can pull them up but not button them at all. When I fit, I'm like WOOOOT.

Sure, there was some muffin-topping but that's beside the point lol...

Courtney- You may be retaining water from your exercise regimen. Muscles tear up in very tiny fibers and water is needed to repair (something along those lines.) Just keep up with the exercise and everything else you're doing, it will come off!!! I am up 3-4lbs right now from having just started Insanity. Okay, I'm annoyed. I weighed in today, I was like 258 last Sat. (well, 257.8 but I recorded at 258). I'm kickin' it at 259 today. What the heck? I've been so on plan this week it's sick. I've averaged 1500 calories per day. I keep a food log and have been *extremely* accurate. It HAS to be water retention but it still messes with my head. Hmmmph. Annoyed.

Hope everyone is doing better than me this morning lol

I FINALLY broke 270 this week. Damn. That was rough. I am hoping that my "binge" week doesn't catch up next week. Lol. For the first time ever on weight watchers I ate all of my daily and weekly points. I was nervous about the scale this week. But down 2.8 lbs yay!

Back from a mini vacation and I was bad with my eating. Not looking forward to the scale tomorrow.

Ate horribly on Tuesday, but on plan the rest of the week. I exercised daily despite the 90+ degree weather and it paid off. I lost 2 pounds.

Well, I weighed myself today (my official weigh-in isn't until Sat) and I was 257...so, thank God. I'm praying I'm less than that on Sat. I feel like I was at 258 for like 2 weeks even though I was TOTALLY ON PLAN. I don't watch my sodium though (since I have zero health concerns) so I'm sure I retain water on any given day. As of now, I believe I'll hit my Labor Day goal...when I make it into the 240's I will literally dance with joy. I haven't seen that number in a decade. Hope everyone else is doing well!

Starting: 175 lbs
Expectation: <165 (10+ lbs down from starting)
Goal: 160 (15 lbs down from starting)
Super Challenge Goal: 155 (20 lbs down from starting)We're nearly to the halfway point now! I weighed in at 168.6 this morning. At my current rate, I'd be about about a pound and a half from goal (160) by the end of the challenge. Might need to kick it up a notch or two soon but overall I think I'm doing pretty well. :)

Hello folks! I confess, I'm up 1.5 lbs this week from 4th of July weekend eating off plan.... And I also confess I'm not updating my sig/ticker with that gain! I don't feel too terrible about it, could be worse. I'll just have to work on it for next week :)

Gratz to everyone who is doing well!!! And for those of us who seem to be struggling a bit....we can do it! Re-committing to being excited about this challenge.. We've got this!

I have to say I for one am still frustrated - 2 weeks of committed exercise and up 2 again this morning. OH MAN. I admit I was not like 100% eating on plan but it wasn't THAT bad. I know it's not fat, just frustrating not being able to get the scale to move... I understand it now.

Jollygreen, I've been there. The last two weeks have been frustrating as I haven't lost weight but today I had a WOOSH -- so I pray yours is coming too!

I had a whoosh THANK GOD! I was starting to get frustrated because the last two weeks have seen no loss *despite* be being 100% on plan. I'm totally happy. I actually weighed in at 254.8 but I'm rounding up because I'm weird like that and I like even numbers LOL Looks like I'll meet my Labor Day goal, thank God. Hang in there ladies who are struggling, stay on plan, your whoosh is comin!

Off to change my ticker...

Went Kayaking for the first time yesterday. It was a blast! But boy do I hurt today lol!!!! I am at 267.8 but that is probably due to water retention from beating my muscles to death yeaterday! Only a pound down but, considering I will take it!

I'm in! This is precisely what I came here looking for.

I began my weight loss journey over a year ago and have shed nearly 50 full pounds. But I've been lazy these past few months and haven't lost a single pound, at least not long term. So I start again today! All I have to do to reach my goal is lose slightly more than a pound every 7 days from now until September 2nd.

SW: 135.8
GW: 120

5/28: 135.8
6/3: 135.4
6/4: 134.8

7/16 : 131.4

I have a major "mini goal" of reaching 12X by my birthday which is in the beginning of August. I'm 2 pounds away but I'm afraid I'll gain a few back so I'm trying to be careful. So close! I haven't been this close to seeing 129 on a scale since I was 19!

I went off plan completely and, as expected, my weight jumped up by 3.5 pounds. I need to remember that there are consequences for out of control eating.

I am used to sabotaging myself so this isn't a surprise. I need to find new ways to stay out of the kitchen. On the good side, I have increased my base running mileage to 3 miles. I kept up with the daily exercise, despite overeating.

This week, I want to stick to my meal plan and continue exercising, despite the heat. I'm feeling optimistic about my chances and will keep logging into 3FC for support.
