Starting the next challenge - Memorial Day to Independence Day - roughly 6 weeks - I'm starting at 194 and based on a 1.5 pound weekly average loss have set a goal of 9 pounds. I'm focusing on 185!!

Oh this is perfect for me! I have a conference starting July 5th that I would love to be a little lighter for! I just lose so slowly, though. I'd love to be 155, but honestly would be delighted to be out of the 160's

Goal Weight 155

Happy Wednesday!! Can't weigh today but ate on plan and will continue the same for today!! Boy is broccoli good!!!...just kidding - forced myself to eat it at dinner last night - I usually like it but it was overcooked!! When I get home - I think I'll make a crustless broccoli/cheddar quiche over the weekend!!

Wannaskipandlaugh The faux potato salad stayed home but the low carb dip went to the party!! I felt really good about the outfit I wore to work yesterday - the second outfit from about 6 weeks ago that I finally had the confidence to wear!!

Happy Friday!! Back home and finally got to weigh - looking at 194 which is better than where I started in January - some weeks I struggle more with portion control than others and this was one of those weeks.

Wannaskipandlaugh Remember you are in a better place than where you started!!! Keep on going - this updownupdown thing will turn into a downdowndown thing!!!! I just know it - look at your numbers - You have come soooo far already!!!!!

Happy Saturday!! - Holding at 194 - I know I'll see results; I just don't know when!!! For me it's all about the average weight loss because as you can see sometimes the daily news isn't so exciting!!!

20 weeks of Atkins and besides losing slower than last time my new observation has to do with the quality of my hair. The last time I lost 50 pounds much faster but my already thin hair really paid the price - this time my hair seems to be fine so far - as I am losing slower and I am eating better nutritionally.

Lulu... Still in a holding pattern... That tho is still good... It did not go up. Its the Roller Coaster that gets arghy sometimes... You have maintained and I think your body is just gathering itself to let more go! I am also so glad about your hair holding steady this time around. I have been shedding.. but I think that that is summer shed... I take ALOT of vitamins and my hair is thicker than it was 5 years ago.. Even the girl who cuts my hair can't believe how thick.... :)

Hello everyone! I'm a weekly weigher, otherwise I get so frustrated with the ups and downs and get discouraged. That being said, I've been watching and cheering you all on from the sidelines.

I am down by 1.6 this week. I'm encouraged.

I got a whipped cream maker for my birthday and it is so nice to have. I've also been conditioning for my trip to NYC in July by taking longer walks. Also started up my T-Tapp again. Now to get my dance chops back! :belly:

T-Tapp is an exercise program developed by Teresa Tapp.

There is a basic 15 minute routine she designed for folks with chronic illnesses. I do that one. There is also a Total Work out which expands on that and is 45 minutes long. It hits all major muscle groups, encourages lymphatic flow, helps balance etc. Plus other variations. She has a bunch of videos. You can find stuff on youtube and there is also a website and a forum.

I have hypothyroid and celiac disease and several other autoimmune illnesses plus I am on the other side of 60 now, so this little workout kind of keeps things going without being too much for me. My mom and sister also do it. Packs a punch for only 15 minutes.

2.2 lbs lost last week, making me 180.8. I was really hoping to break out of the 180s this week but there's always next week. It's my fault for cheating a little bit last week. Still have 7.8 lbs until I reach my goal for July 4th but hopefully it can be done!

LashOrty.... yep... anything with artificial sweetners hurt alittle... I would say to not drink too many Diet Sodas a day... Drink more water... That really does help!!

Not happy today...... gained 2 lbs.. and not posting... I hope it goes away... I am sorry Lulu... maybe you and I caught the same "bug" of a scale reading :( Just alittle discouraged.... I know its just water but I was hoping for a better week after last week. But saving grace is my measuring tomorrow (I do it everymonth on the 5th from when I started in January)... I already know that I am down more inches.... So that in itself helps the mind!!!!

News Flash: Pity Party Over!! - Big girl pants are on!!! 1st horrible day in a long time yesterday but I really should have owned it - just like the rest of the journey. Reporting 195 today and still feeling super bloated....time to keep marching downward!!

Wannaskipandlaugh Totally feeling your pain!!! I hope today is better for you and I can't wait to hear how many inches you have lost.

Thankful for the support of this forum - It helps me to stay on track - I WANT 150 and maintenance!! Eyes on the prize!!!

Well I did see inches lost on my measuring yesterday 1 month from 5/5 I have lost 3 7/8 total inches.. ( I just measure right sides - calf, thigh.hips,waist.chest.upper arm and neck) So I am happy... My underwear is baggier today... so I KNOW I am loosing LOLOLOL Just wish the scale would show it..

Oh Lulu you will make progress... Its been a week now.. So I am thinking that Saturday night - Sunday morning your scale will be DOWN!!!! That's my statement for the world to hear... and I am going to be 258 by Sunday... I am stating that too and telling my dear ole (excuse me for being new agey here) Guardian Spirits to help me shut my mouth and eat on plan and MOVE.. LOLOLOL They do whisper very loud... except I must ignore it sometimes :)

Wannaskipandlaugh No need to apologize - just think I am having a rough couple of weeks again before I start making progress again. Probably have to make some adjustments to lose the next 5-7 pounds and get out of the 190s. Still hanging out at 195...which is better than where I started.

In my life - today my oldest graduates high school!!! and there will probably be water works all day!!! ((I'm a cryer!!! Sometimes I can't believe that this fat girl with glasses gets to experience so many wonderful things!!)) yesterday my nephew was born 8 lbs 9 oz 21 inches!! tomorrow - I start a road trip with my mom to visit the new baby - on vacation until the 18th - so limited weighing after today until the 18th. My sister hasn't seen me since March - so she will notice the change I have made!!

oH LULU... Tears of JOY are always wonderful.. Those are the golden tears !!!! :) Such wonderful and awesome things in your life right now. How wonderful it is and I bet you are bursting with JOY! A HS graduate, a new gift of a nephew, and a trip to see him with your mom (alone time and time to talk which is ALWAYS Nice) Oh you are having such a glorious time in your life right now... I feel some of the joy here from you too!

I am stilled stalled too LOLOLOL 260 is my hurdle this time around hanging around here for 2 weeks and that is crazy nuts... but I will get over it and just feel like I am in the 250's YEP that is my motis opporendi! lol

SIGH and grunt growl gasp and ARGH... STILL 260 I have been hovering over this number for almost 2 weeks (besides the 2 lb uptick in the middle) REALLY??? What, Who and How many things, people etc do I need to pray to, bow to, grumble too to get a DOWNWARD Movement LOLOLOL Just myself Yep.. Told myself in the mirror this morning (after getting over Elvis loss) that I NEED TO DO IT! lol :D :lol: oh gotta love ourselves dont we?

Well I have no idea what happened, but I am up to 165 this week. I cannot account for this at all as far as my eating has gone. The only thing I did differently was to have a few gluten free crackers with my tuna salad on Saturday. I was hoping to be down farther but to no avail.

Losing with thyroid disease can be so frustrating. You can do everything right and still not lose.

Will persevere and hope for better luck next week.

Im up this weekend to 203.5. Completely my fault tho...I fell off the Atkins wagon and into a pizza. I ate very well today and hopefully wont fall off again in the next week because Id really like to hit wonderland by next weekend!

Nonamortica, hypothyroid is such a pain! My mom has it and has struggled too. I hope the scale moves for you over the next week!

Lulu, congrats on the new nephew and your sons graduation! How exciting!!

Loving my mom's scale - slept there last night (as we started our road trip this morning) and this a.m. I weighed 190 - I said "Mom - I think your scale might be off a few pounds" - My Mom "Oh that explains why I always weigh so much at the doctor's office!!!!!" Loved the 190 but know it is totally fantasy!!!!! Long ride - sleeping in Maryland tonight - no way to weigh tomorrow or Tuesday - hopefully something of value to report on Wednesday!!

Glad you are partway thru your trip Lulu....
well Elvis ( who is such a wonderful, nice and caring poster) left this place as someone had complained to the moderators about her. Sad Sad Sad.... This happened Friday morning and yesterday alot of us found out that she was gone and I was deciding to quit this place. She is such a delightful and wonderful person and I just could not understand why and what happened. Well I still do not know what happened (but I was reading a running thread Thursday night that got VERY Heated), but as I was telling a thread that I was not posting, someone on that thread told me that she had tracked Elvis down somehow... and is in Email contact with her... Its just a sad state where people start taking things out of context (that is my belief)... But at least I know that she is ok... Sorry to write of a sad thing on this wonderful site...

BUT I LOVE YOUR MOM's Scale.. Will she share it? It would show me the 250's and I could use a sight like that !!! :)

Lulu, I love scales that are light. For much of my teens and early 20s, I thought I was 4 pounds lighter than I actually was due to a wonderful lying scale. =) Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Sue, Im sorry to hear about your friend. It is sad when people misinterpret things and lash out. Im very glad you didnt leave the site though =)

Hello all! I see you are all keeping up the good fight! Me too!

Got back on the scale today and it read 164.4. I also noticed a part of my belly looks like it's deflated a little when it was not that way before. So perhaps I am having the peak before the woosh! One can always hope.

Hey wannaskipandlaugh,

I'm not symetrical and there is a spot on my belly that developed more stretch marks than the other side and that has kind of flattened, whereas the other non stretchmarked skin on the other side is still rounded. Hard to explain, but I do think it is kind of a marker for me. Hopefully not a stopping place for too long.

I'm an old lady with scoliosis, and gave up on the "perfect" body ages ago. Down to 163.8 today. Trying out this daily weighing in thing to see if it's helpful.

Made it to Tampa yesterday!! Baby Boy is beautiful!!!Full head of hair!!! My sister commented on my weight loss as she has not seen me for 3 months!!! Couldn't weigh yet this am but I am planning to get my hands on a scale!! Eating on plan which is not hard to do as my sister has been totally low carb for years and years!!(She has never been overweight..) Looks like everyone is making wonderful progress!!!!

Still haven't gotten a weight yet - the scale is in my sister's bathroom and well that's kind of off limits with the new baby but I can live with it!!! I know there is less and less time until the end of this challenge so I think I will be refocusing my goal to just get to 189 during this month!!

Nona - One side of my stomach is different from the other because of surgery scars and the right always looks better before the left side. This sounds kind of gross but my fat overhang lifts up first on the right side before the left - probably TMI but I can tell in the mirror.

Looks like everyone is doing great!! Really hoping I have some great news to report weight wise and the baby "love" is just wonderful!!! Enjoying the journey!!!!!

thank you Lulu and Sue =) Im really happy to finally be out of the 200s. Its been a very long journey to get here. After a traumatic event in 2008, I gained around 70 pounds in the span of a year. Then during my senior year of college, I decided to join weight watchers. I lost 43 pounds, but after graduating and moving back home, I had a really hard time adjusting to my "new" life and eating right, and by April of this year, I had gained back 23 pounds. Im happy I didnt gain it all back, but it still was so frustrating and I felt like it was impossible for me to get healthy again. Then I literally woke up one day, and thought to myself that Id never get healthy if all I did was cry about hard it was going to be so I started posting on this site and began my atkins WOE and now Ive lost almost 30 pounds in the past couple months. So now Im smaller than Ive been in YEARS!! I dont think I would have kept going on this journey without the support of you guys. =) So long story short, I love this site, and low carb living, and you guys are awesome and a pivotal part of my success =)

Still riding 192 - hoping to see a new number in the next few days!! Really want to break into the 180s - that's a big deal for me - I will change my ticker at 188 and add my true goal weight that everyone watched me struggle to figure out - 150 doesn't seem like such a demon anymore and actually seems attainable now - took me a long time to wrap my mind around it!! Staying on plan - my sister makes a mean chicken salad and my brother in law made the best ceasar salad the other night (no croutons for me!!) My mom started to eat low carb with us - it wasn't until this road trip that I realized how many carbs she eats!!! Very eye opening!! When I go home I am going to make another batch of faux potato salad.....

I see we have all been struggling. Hang in there! I stayed exactly at 162.2. No loss but no gain either.

In the past I have gotten so discouraged by this kind of "no loss no matter what I do" stage, and given up. I'm resolved to just stay the course. If I KNOW my plan works I will focus on that sure knowledge, not the numbers that refuse to budge.

Got glutenized yesterday by a chef salad that must have been cross contaminated. It's my last bit of denial that I think I can pick things off a menu that SHOULD be gluten free, but not from a specifically labled gluten free menu, and think I will be ok. Sometimes I am. But when I'm not I pay. It's celiac Russian Roulette.

Ah well, It's a new week. I wish you all the best of success this week.

Nothing new to report today from the scale - on the road this week so after tomorrow am won't be able to weigh until Saturday. While I like the 190's, I'm not in love with them!!! I had time to reflect this weekend and really want to make some progress. I am considering a fat fast for 4 days this week - Tuesday to Friday followed by 14 days of strict induction - so an 18 day plan and then time to re-evaluate again. 10 days left in this challenge!! True confession: I hate that portion control is so hard for me to conquer!!

Can't weigh - But I think I will be able tomorrow - eating on plan - fat fast not for the weak willed!! No wonder atkins said most patients don't relish the idea!!!

I am at the point in my journey where I could seriously backslide and I do NOT want to do that this time around. This past weekend I tried on all the clothes I had saved for 10 years and they all fit - two lessons learned. 1. I can wear the clothes now that I thought I could only wear at 178 pounds. So even at 178 - my lowest adult weight - I was wearing clothes that were just too big for me - body image issues much!!! 2. Suits I thought were beautiful 10 years ago are completely out of style (except for 2) Everything that was too big/out of style went to charity or trash!! I do not have any "back up big clothes." One foot in front of the other - moving forward downdowndown!!

Me lost about .25 lbs.. eh.. ok... tho I walked too and sweated, but.. maybe its the stress as I leased a new car yesterday and I am thinking that I did not get as good of a deal that I thought... but.. its a new car and I won't have any major repairs on it for years.. SO good thing... Just gotta stay under 12000 miles a year... That is going to be tough.. I am a driver!

Well I am down to 160.6 this morning! I leave for NYC for my dance conference at around 7:30am on July 5th. I would LOVE to be in the 150's by that time. We are performing in Central Park on Saturday, same costume as last year, but it should fit me a little differently! Plus I got new flowers for my hair. I had made some nice ones and worn them for several years, two barrets ,one on each side, but I just wanted something different, so I ordered a headband with different colored roses on it. I let someone else do the work! I'm going to get my hair shaped up tommorow. Really looking forward to this trip although I am out of practice and will probably be achy after 3 days of classes and performances. I was not feeling well last year and it reflected in my pictures and performance. I'm 12 lbs lighter at least this year.

Lulu, that predisone is a tough one. Good for you for holding the line. The weight will start to come off again.

wannaskipand laugh, you really keep this thread going. I appreciate you holding this space for us. I don't always get a chance to get here every day AND I appreciate that you do. Own that .25! You worked for it!

I'm finding what seems to be working for me is to eat a good substantial breakfast and protien at lunch and then try to eat very lightly at dinner time. I work from 3 to midnight so I eat breakfast and lunch late anyway. Sometimes I will just have some peanut butter at dinner, or a salad. I often want at before bed midnight snack and have found that a big glass of home made kefir works well for that.

Good luck to you all, here's hoping by the 4th we are all several lbs lighter!

Im back! Heavier than the last time I was here, but oh well. I dont know how much I gained..but I know its more than 5 pounds. I thought about weighing myself, but I dont think Im going to for at least a week or two so Im not shocked/ sad/ discouraged. Im officially backing out of this challenge because there's no way Ill hit my original goal. If theres a labor day challenge, I will totally be in on that and my schedule is about to get a lot more predictable which should make sticking to plan easier (I hope!).

Sue, I skimmed the last weigh in page I was in and saw that you asked me about my test. It was extremely hard...the hardest test Ive ever taken, and I have absolutely no idea how I did lol. Ill get my scores in 2-3 weeks so Im crossing my fingers that I passed so I can continue on my road to getting my medical degree. I actually start seeing patients this week which is super exciting, but also nerve-racking. =) I also see that you've lost weight since I was last on. Thats SO great! Im so proud of you!

Mentioning skiing makes me feel cooler! That would be fun and nothing like shooshing down the slope being lighter that the snow! :) Snow Bunny! :)

I commiserate with you about the water gain. I woke up to find swollen feet (I had 2 bratwursts last night SODIUM Much? LOL But tasted GOODDDDD ).

As long as our weight on 7/4 is less than when we started.. we have won! That is my thinking. I am better off now then I was at Memorial Day! That's the truth!

Lulu I knew it would happen for you! yes indeed 180's are getting closerrrrrrrrr... I am still hanging at 255 No downward for me and not getting close to goal unless the Woosh Fairy leaves our friend Elvis and comes and visits me! LOL But 1/2 lb off would be nice

Ending this challenge at 193 only 1 pound down!! Hoping I get into a great downdowndown cycle!! Have a great 4th of July!!!!

Lulu 1 LB off is better than on!! :)

I ended up at 254... 4 lbs short... But looking forward to losing alot more for Labor Day!
