That is just mind blowing and awesome. OOOOHH how do you feel? Do you feel lighter? Did you ever imagine being this low in weight by Memorial Day? Have you taken before and after pictures? I have been taking side shots and wish I had been taking front and back... but at least I have something to show where I came from.

You are a marvel and yes... I think you need to write a book (YOU WILL MAKE BIG $$$$) calling it the beer diet!!

Thanks Sue. I do feel much lighter, but not quite light enough yet. Being able to run was a big plus for me, but I still feel the weight in my knees. As for the book, I might give that a go. The problem is that beer only seems to work for me! Everyone else seems to give in to the munchies.

Really, the beer diet is quite simple. It's just light breakfast, salad for lunch and beer only (or wine) for dinner. Drink as much as you like. Lose some weight, and then add some exercise when you are comfortable with that and you are good to go.

Anyway, here are some before and after pics although I like to think I carried my weight nicely at 280lbs.

WOW Ian, you look incredible!!! You're an inspiration to me!! :cp: And I like your diet/ lifestyle method. It sounds very similar to mine...Ive finally realized Im not really doing atkins...I mean sure, Im not eating bread, and I eat a lot of cheese and meat and veggies...but I also drink wine on a daily basis. I think it all comes down to moderation and exercise in the end =)

Sue, how does it feel to be so close to losing 50 pounds?? That's quite an accomplishment! When did you start on this journey?

Christine --- :) You are a HAPPIERME,,, WOW 2 lbs off!! It doesn't matter if its water or whatever.. ITs WEIGHT! Holy Cow Batman! Oh I can't wait to see you get into Onderland this week... OOHHH Love seeing that first Lulu and now you,. IAN is not far behind... Me... 250 is my short term Onderland goal.. and yes.. I do feel lighter being almost 50 lbs down. (started 1/6/13 @ 306 this time) I actually walked around Walmart this afternoon (buyer a small table top grill) and wiggled my keister and it was Fun fun Fun!! I just felt good.

Goodness I love all your wonderful journeys and stories and I am so glad that I get to be a part of it!! :)

Thanks Sue and Christine for all the support and <blush>! Christine, delighted to hear you are not really doing Atkins. I am not really doing Intermittant Fasting either! I used to think I was (I skip dinner) until they told me I was not because beer does not technically count as fasting. Screw them!

So the biggest lesson for me is you have to find a diet that works for you, whether it has a name or not!

And Sue, congrats on being 261lbs, nearly 50 down! I remember 261lbs very well. And it felt great! I think I bought a new outfit around then and went to a big party. One of the best nights I had had out in a long time. And my first new outfit in a long, long time too. I have not had a better night out since!

I had a great long weekend even though I didn't lose any weight. I made it through the Taylor Swift concert and a family picnic without cheating on my diet, so I'm happy.

I transitioned from Atkins to IP a couple of weeks ago. I know Atkins is a great diet, and it works, but it wasn't working for me because I was not being consistent. IP is expensive, but I need the accountability for now. I'm sure I'll g back to Atkins when I'm done with IP.

My family and I celebrated memorial day a little bit too much last night, and I ended up a pound heavier this morning, but I was expecting it. Too much wine leads to me holding onto water. But there was bread and apple pie and cookies galore...and I didnt eat any of them, so I think I picked the lesser of two "evils" to indulge in ;) I hope you all also had a nice long weekend!

I am sorry that this happened to you.... It will go away tomorrow (on your bump in the road Thursday as it will surprise you like Tuesday did!)

You still amaze me... Look what you have done just since the 1st of the month... WOW... and you are so much closer to your goal too and it usually gets harder and slower to lose... Well that is a myth in your case!

Congrats on the loss Kate! Ian and Sue, Im sure the scale will make you both happier tomorrow!

Im holding steady at 202.5. For some reason today Im feeling very frustrated about not losing. I ate very well yesterday, drank water, yada yada and I woke up convinced the scale was gonna say 201. But no, no change at all. And I know its one day at a time and one foot in front of the other like Lulu said before, but today, I want the weight GONE! ughhhh

And I think maybe its the family being around and there being cookies and cinnamon buns in my house again for the first time in months, but I am craving carbs like no bodies business. Anyone have tips for how to curb this? because all I can think about is a big bowl of gnocchi right now. lol

Total lost 0.9lbs. Im happy that i'm down but annoyed with myself. We've had the worst weather here in Cape Town over the last few days (today its actually storming) and I haven't made an effort to exercise ONCE in the last week... But thats changing this week! Im better than this!

You won't miss those nuts. I used to eat nuts (almonds, cashews, peanuts) every day but stopped that. There are a lot of calories in nuts.

Sue, I bet cutting out the nuts will help. But if you find yourself craving them and you have a trader joes near you, they have the BEST dark chocolate covered almonds. I find eating 3 or 4 of them satisfies my nut and sweet craving and that amount has about about 4-5 net carbs, so you could give that a go!

Nuts to NUTS LOL No Trader Joes here in Florida..... we only have Publix, Winn Dixie's and Save a lots (Whole Foods about 1 hour away) :) But thank you for the idea... :) I have a whole big jar of cashews too... Those will be a desert treat a few times a week - Only!! lol I think I was just craving the salt... Thank you both Christine and Ian for the words and ideas :) Since you 2 Are AT or VERY CLOSE to Onderland.. I am taking what you say as LAW :) Thank you Sheriff Ian and Sheriff Christine... or Detectives?! :)

STALL STALL STALL ... but I realize that I have 1 week out of the month that I just stall (and I don't get TOM anymore..TMI here - maybe the hormones just remember and reminisce lololol) BUT I WILL LOSE.. I feel it!!!!!! and can see it in my clothes and the mirror!!!! I have lost my double chin unless I look down ! and almost my bra exender so Woo Hoo.. physical showings!
