Morning chicks. Starting new thread. Worried Rhonda might not have power after watching the news this morning.

05-16-2013, 09:18 AM
Sorry I have been MIA. Since returning to KY, I've been really busy. I painted my bedroom and bath. Lots going on around here.

Hope all are doing well. Will try to get in here more often. Have a great day.

05-16-2013, 10:35 AM
Thanks Pam. We've missed you.

I've got power; we got only rain and wind. But Cleburne, my home town, got hit...not nearly like Granbury, but it was substantial.

I'm going to call Sandra in about 1/2 an hour to see if I can reach her.

05-16-2013, 11:25 AM
Sandra's OK...said she'd come here and report in..

05-16-2013, 11:30 AM
Hi there. We're still here. I don't think we had much damage except for a few broken tree limbs. I'll be back later. Got to get off line right now. We have an appointment in town. Love !

Sorry I was MIA also as I'm having problems with my eyes and I don't want to be on the computer,as it to bright for me to type or post.Going in on Tues to a Retinal specialist I have flashes and floaters in my left eye.

Will let you know whats going on with me,and what the doctor will say and do.

Hope every had a wonderful Mothers Day and now soon to be Memorial Day Weekend. Can't believe how time is flying by,we are going to be 1/2 thought the year.

Hugs Maryann

05-16-2013, 03:50 PM
We're home. After our appointment we drove around the countryside surveying destruction. What we saw was mainly downed trees/limbs. Our neighbor on the west side of our property lost a large barn. He had a couple of vehicles parked inside. Looks like they are all right. That barn was around 100 yds from our house. It was a scary night indeed.

Pam and Maryann, it's good to see you both here. Been missing ya.

Rhonda, thank you for checking on us. We got other phone calls, too. Made us feel loved.

I had meatloaf/green beans/dry baked potato for lunch. I'm doing well OP. My dear friend from Cleburne has joined and we're working the plan together. That helps. I need to get my steps back up to 10,000 per day. I have been lazy this week. Life goes on.

Have a great day, all.

05-16-2013, 04:10 PM
Sandra, didn't know the storms were close to you. I heard northern TX and I think that is where Rhonda lives. I thought you were further south. Glad you are okay too. We get a lot of tornadoes in my neck of the woods too.

Maryann, hope nothing too serious with your eyes.

Rhonda, glad you are okay too.

05-16-2013, 04:28 PM
Thank you, Pam. We're about 80 miles south of Rhonda.

05-17-2013, 01:09 AM
Good to see you back Maryann.

Food poisoning is effective for weight loss  I have absolutely no desire for food. I have eaten cheerios, bananas, yogurt, and that's about it. Oh, yes, ginger ale.

Sandra, can you guys dig a shelter?

05-17-2013, 07:58 AM
Sandra, I am so thankful for you and Curtis being safe! How scary!!

05-17-2013, 10:50 AM
Good Morning Chicks! Sandra, I'm SOOOO happy that you and Rhonda are ok.

Busy, busy here. Yesterday we went out to meet up with some St. Louis Scottie friends and Brodie had a grooming. Today we have air conditioner tune up and errands and baking for yet another birthday party tomorrow. Sheesh.

Good luck, Mary Ann. Hope it's not serious. Eye issues are so scary.

Hey Sloan! Hey Pam!

05-17-2013, 06:31 PM
Vickie, can I come to your party? I'm so ready for something good to eat.

And to my retirement? I will be tutoring 9 more days. I couldn't resist the chance to be with those kids some more.

Rhonda, are you feeling much better?

05-17-2013, 10:43 PM
I'm fine now...thanks. I ate today.

Sandra, you couldn't resist the students. Really? Really? I've just never had that problem!!

05-18-2013, 01:21 PM
My friend in Ottawa died late last night.

I've been working in the yard, we're going to a wedding today, and life goes on.

05-18-2013, 06:44 PM
I'm so sorry, Rhonda!

05-18-2013, 09:23 PM
Thanks, Sloan.

He has been in such poor health for 5 years--scleroderma, prostate cancer, lymphoma, pulmonary fibrosis. I spoke to his wife, who is one of my very best friends, and it was good to hear that he had a gentle passing, not gasping or struggling. She said that a friend and the hospice at home nurse were both there so she was not alone, thank goodness.

The wedding was fun and Doyle got to see some of his family members (Sandra, it was Marianna's wedding...). We ate too many carbs of course.

Tomorrow a number of people who were involved with the unhappiness at church are coming to my house for a pot luck of Mexican food. It will be fun....and too many carbs! But, I'm ready for a Margarita!

05-18-2013, 10:07 PM
Rhonda, you have a wonderful outlook. I'm so glad your friend had people around to be with them during his passing. I don't remember Marianna. I'm guessing she is a Hill. I'm glad you and Doyle had a good time. Carbs sound good to me. Sounds like cake. A favorite carb of mine. Well, margaritas, too.

We had a fun day. We got to be with several archers then lunch and shopping. Now I'm settled in reading----I mean watching-----the end of "The Tudors, Season 1" on Netflix. I really feel like I'm reading a book. There are 3 more seasons. I'm really really really enjoying this!

05-18-2013, 11:46 PM
i haven't watched the Tudors...should do that...

I'm having wine and cheetos :cheese:

05-19-2013, 02:24 AM
What a wonderful 2 days at my nephew's wedding in Ga !!
I got to spend time with so many extended family member's that I haven't seen in years.... and a few new arrivals !!

On the way down on Friday I was right behind a terrible crash and stopped and helped with an injured little 7 year old girl. Her mom was too injured to be with her, so I stayed with her until they transported her. She totally stole my heart
and I plan to try to contact the family to see if I can help in any way. It appeared that her injuries were serious but not life threatening, which is a miracle because the SUV rolled several times and she was thrown from the SUV .

05-19-2013, 10:52 AM
Wow, Nancy! You were that little girl's angel on Friday! I know that family is suffering, but are you okay? Sometimes things like that take a toll on us that we don't realize until later. It's a good idea to contact the family; that will help you resolve any issues it may have caused you, and the family will benefit, too! You go girl!!!

Rhonda, is there a particular "wine pairing" for cheetos?

Sandra, thanks for the info on the Tudors. I am always looking for a series to watch. We cancelled our cable, so we watch a lot of Netflix.

Rainy day here in Middle Tennessee, hope you chickies have a wonderful Sunday! I will be writing a paper :write:

05-19-2013, 11:08 AM
Nancy, you are definitely an angel. I knew you were a wonderful person already but this reconfirms.

Rhonda and Sloan, I highly recommend "The Tudors." There are 4 seasons (38 episodes total). I finished Season 1 yesterday. Loving it!!

Cheetos/wine sound good to me. I bought some Quaker Popped Chips (salsa flavored) and also some spicy hummus. Tastes like bean dip and Fritos. (If you have a good imagination, of course.)

We're heading to church in a few minutes, then to lunch, then to a local archery tournament. It should be a fun day.

05-19-2013, 07:51 PM were her  for sure..

In my experience, almost any wine is good with Cheetos. but, I could explore that more fully.

I'm glad that you have an imagination, Sandra

My party went fine. I'm going out tonight to hear some Cuban's fitting because my friend Marvin established the Ottawa-Cuban jazz connection, which brought Jazz musicians from Cuba to Ottawa for years.

05-20-2013, 12:26 AM
Thanks for your kind words..It was heartbreaking because she had just been released from Duke Hospital for another serious medical issue..Kid's should not have to endure stuff like that..

Cheetos & wine..:D

Sloan..It made me very nervous driving the rest of the trip & home ..But probably will make me be more attentive. I have definitely been "processing" it a lot..

I just got home from the wedding in Ga and was able to meet both my boys today in Charlotte, NC ( half way home) to celebrate my youngest turning 21 tomorrow..Glad to be home..

I am going to check out The Tudor's..I love to find a series on Netflix that I like.
I don't have cable either, because Netflix seems to be enough for me ...

Cuban Jazz !! Rhonda, you do such fun things !!!!!

I ate some pretty amazing food all weekend at the rehersal dinner & reception & with my sons today. I will probably have a weight set back, so I need to focus this week.

05-20-2013, 06:22 AM
Good Morning Chicks! I'm up here in the middle of the night. Can't sleep. Having anxiety and not sure why. We went to another of our birthday celebrations this weekend with friends and I saw myself in pictures and it is NOT good. Sometimes it takes a good picture to give one the slap in the face they need. I know the scale is bad but sometimes seeing it in print is really more shocking. Despite that shock, we had a very, VERY nice time. It is great to have good close friends, especially the ones who love me no matter what size I am. These folks fit the bill.

Sandra, I really wish all of you Chicks could have been at the party. It was so much fun. Great conversation and laughs with good friends. I can't believe you are tutoring again. I guess it will keep you young! Pop Chips (never tried them) and spicy hummus, huh? I'll give it a try. I'm so bored with everything I have. What brand hummus? I love Sabra brand. I like the hot one and the garlic one. How did you do at the archery event?

Rhonda, glad you had fun at the wedding but very sad for your friend's husband. She'll need your support for sure. As we all know, it is still hard no matter how braced you think you are for the end. How was the pot luck?

Nancy, WOW, what a shocking story! So glad you were there to help that little girl. She will never forget you or your kindness.

Sloan, hope your paper went well. We will have rain for the next 3 days. I'm ok with that though because then I don't have to spend money to water!

Pam, you sound like you are as crazy busy as we are here. I couldn't sleep tonight but I find I'm enjoying the quiet and the dark. for the Tudors....Jim and I watched all 4 seasons and loved it. Lots of skin though! We also watched the whole series of Everwood and liked it a lot too. Gilmore Girls is another snappy, witty series if you've never seen it. to do some surveys to earn credits to earn myself an Amazon card so I can support my romance novel habit!

We are supposed to have lots of rain here today, some severe. Ugh.

05-20-2013, 09:01 AM
Like Vickie, I was up before dawn. The wind was blowing, the dog was pacing and I couldn't go back to sleep. I think I can now though.

The pot luck was good Vickie---it was Mexican themed and there are some good cooks in the group.

This week needs to be a real focus group for me too. I met a young woman at the wedding who had lost 103 pounds--and I can't get even half of that done.

I have cousins in OKC and area...but they're all all right. Sloan, is your DD OK?

05-20-2013, 11:46 AM
How did she lose the 103 pounds, Rhonda? I'm still up but am heading up for a bubble bath. I'm certain to sleep in there.

05-20-2013, 06:10 PM
Rhonda, 103 pounds is amazing. I'm still losing/relosing the same 10.

Vickie, it's Sabra Supremely Spicy. I just had some and my nose is running. I don't like seeing photos of myself now either. That's why our scrapbook is wayyyyyy behind. Life goes on.

I am going to watch Season 2 Episode 1 now. Ya'll have a good evening.

05-20-2013, 09:52 PM
She did WW at work. I heard from a friend that she is using my fitness pal app on her phone and has lost 20 pounds.

Still haven't heard from cousin in OKC--FB family thinks she may be at the Y and that that is OK.

05-20-2013, 10:05 PM
Rhonda, I hope your cousin is all right. Are any storms heading toward you? This is all scary. I am so upset especially about the elementary students in Moore. I can't tell you how that hits home with me. I spent many hours having students duck and cover when I was teaching. Scary.

05-20-2013, 11:52 PM
My daughter and her husband live about 30 minutes west of Moore, OK. They are fine, but DD is feeling a little scared. She was home when the tornado hit Moore, and she watched it unfold on the local news. Needless to say, we are ready for them to get a new job assignment. I am so sad about the devastation in Moore; I am most upset about the school children. What a horror for those parents!

Rhonda, prayers for your family!

05-21-2013, 12:25 AM
So glad to hear that your family is fine...mine is too.

Did you see the graphic of the track of this storm and the 1999 one---almost the same. I just heard that storm went from no tornado to EF4 in 20 minutes!

Like the rest of you, it's the children that are so upsetting to me....some have been found..

05-21-2013, 11:29 AM
Good Morning Chicks!

Thanks for the info, Rhonda. That makes me decide to sign up for WW online. I'm not good about going to meeting so it would just be better for me to do online. I'm am SO much better when I track and am accountable. You are all better for me than any meeting I could go to.

Isn't the Moore story tragic? I feel so bad for them. I was anxious last night because it was all moving our way. We had really bad thunderstorms but nothing worse than that. The threat of tornadoes has been a lifelong stress for me.

Sandra, we all learned duck and cover but it sure wouldn't have helped those kids. They needed to be in a basement. Do all schools have basements?

Lots of appointments for us today. Final window measurements, window treatment lady, and a Sears repair. Started the day with a visit from our new heating and air conditioning company to learn that our old company sold us an oversized air conditioner and had it wired wrong. GEEZ. Who can you trust anymore?

Anywho....supposed to go see Ironman later. Have been trying to get there since is opened but haven't made it yet. We may just relax today when everyone leaves.

05-21-2013, 12:51 PM
I think yesterday was just a recouperate day for me ..
Working hard today on my house & pool..The storm here left the
pool area a mess and the weeds are growing like crazy..

The OK news is horrible...Glad everyones family there is okay..

Vickie..I liked the new Ironman movie..enjoy..

I am back on Low Carb this week to see if I can get a few more pounds off..
To simplify I have decided to have leftovers for lunch everyday of whatever I had for dinner the night before ..Last night I grabbed a small low carb burger from Hardees so I got one for lunch today too..Maybe that will make planning easier.

05-21-2013, 02:49 PM
I'm upset, too. And, yes, duck and cover would have been useless. Where I was tutoring today, we dismissed at noon because storms are expected in our area around 2 pm. Scary.

Vickie, I don't know of basements in any Texas schools. Old school buildings sometimes had classrooms in a basement, but today's don't. They probably should. I told our dil today that I thought of her last night. She's principal of 4th-6th grades. There are over 600 children for her to watch over. I got to see her in action today. She handled the early dismissal very professionally. Everyone was calm and orderly. (Of course, the students were happy to get to go home early.)

Sloan, I am so glad your family is safe. Do you think they'll be moving soon?

Rhonda, we also heard that the tornado at Moore stayed on the ground around an hour. That's horrific!

Waiting on the next storm is nerve-wrecking. So far I've just had 12 points. I know eating doesn't help, but I tend to turn to food anyway. After 66 years, that's a hard habit to change.

05-21-2013, 08:35 PM
Sandra, there is talk of DD&SIL moving to Shreveport, LA in the future. Maybe by the end of 2013. It is only talk right now. We are ready for them to come home right now, as you can imagine.

05-21-2013, 10:25 PM
We drove about 30 miles east of here to see GK graduate out of PreK then came home. We hit bad rain, but got home before all H broke out. We had bad, noisy storms for a while. It has been quiet for hours but I just heard more thunder.

I'm not too nervous about storms when I'm at home, but I don't like to drive in them at all.

I was supposed to host the book club meeting here tonight but it was cancelled because our guest author didn't want to drive up here from Ft. Worth.

I could have gone downtown to a jazz club to hear a great band, but I'm just sitting at home. I'm going to sit in the hot tub and go to bed early. I'm really tired....probably free-floating anxiety from the news all around us.

My eating was totally disordered today, but we did go out for chicken enchiladas. I avoided the rice and ate only a part of the beans and the tortillas. But I drank all of the $2.00 Margarita. Should'a had 2 more!

05-21-2013, 11:21 PM
I just posted something from on FB about where the killer tornados have been since 1950

05-21-2013, 11:46 PM
Went out on the lake this evening with some friends on their boat and the dogs..
I am keeping my son's dog right now..Perfect weather ...

They made something they called "train wreck" with avocado, black beans,
sour creme, & salsa all mixed together..very good..
I have done low carb today except for some of that on a tortilla..

Did some planning today and that helps me when I get worried about
the house, work & stuff..One thing at a time !!

05-22-2013, 12:00 AM
Thunderstorm warnings for Middle Tennessee. I wish I were drinking $2 margaritas!

05-22-2013, 12:06 AM
I wish I were drinking $2 margaritas!

Where ??? I am coming !!!!

05-22-2013, 10:06 AM
Good Morning Chicks! It's still raining here but nothing worrisome. Going to have a slow, quiet start to my day then out for dinner at Wildfire, one of my favorite restaurants. Steak, au gratin potatoes, and an incredible beet salad with goat cheese. I'll try to practice moderation! Never been my forte though.

Light and love. Have a great day.

05-22-2013, 10:12 AM
Happy Birthday Vickie. Hope you have a fun day. What are the plans?

Rhonda, so sorry about your dear friend. Hope your cousin is ok.

Nancy, that accident had to be so scary. I was in a terrible accident when I was 17. Glad you could be there for the little girl.

Sandra, when are you done with tutoring? Graduation is Friday here. My twin grandsons are graduating this year and my great granddaughter graduated from Kindergarden yesterday.

We had a freak wind storm pop up yesterday afternoon. Blew my flower pots over on the front porch and lot of branches down. The sky was so black and was sure a tornado was coming, but thankfully it passed over quickly. Our town has had many tornadoes so it scares me.

My eating is out of control and I'm thinking about low carb. I'm not a bread eater. What other foods do I eliminate?

05-22-2013, 12:17 PM
My eating is out of control and I'm thinking about low carb. I'm not a bread eater. What other foods do I eliminate? can find south beach and atkins list online
They allow different things in different stages...
Pasta is high carb, sweets..

When I do an extreme low carb week I eat cheese, meats, poultry, seafood, eggs, protein shakes made with almond milk, limited nuts, limited peanut buttter, low carb yogurt, veggies, salads, broth soups..

But this is the "Nancy" plan, so it probably doesn't match any official list ..

Hi Ladies:)

Well at 9 AM yesterday,I had an appointment with the retina specialist, and he told me that I had a old injury in my retina as there was a scar that was opening up again with the gel pulling away from the retina was making a hole. The doctor suggested that I have the lasers treatment as so I went into the room and had the surgery this morning. 3 bolts of lights in each side and I was finished. I was wearing sunglasses all afternoon even in my house. I just took them off now as the sun is not as strong as before.

He said I can go back to driving and all my usual activities tomorrow. Now that my eye are not dilated.

Had a wonderful night and had a great sleep so I was able to go to The church to lead the rosary but after the lights were turned on in the church for Mass I had to put my shades on. Was suppose to go out with Rita or Alice today but I declined the two invitations,as I like to rest my eyes for tomorrow as I have a busy day scheduled.

Thats all for now,I 'll get back to you guys tomorrow, and check up all you guys were up to. Sorry for being MIA.

05-22-2013, 02:51 PM
$2.00 Margarita...La Milpa in Dennton on Tuesdays...could even walk to it from my house so you could drink lots of them if you didn't have a designated driver. :)

05-22-2013, 08:00 PM
:bday2you: Vickie! Enjoy your day. When you get a chance, please tell us more about that beet salad.

Nancy, your low carb sounds good. $2 Margaritas sound better, though.

Rhonda, this has been an emotional time. I'm glad you got home all right. I wish we had gotten more rain yesterday.

I'm off from tutoring till Tuesday due to science fairs and field days. Next week I'll work Tues-Fri. After that I'm definitely finished for this school year.

Pam, how was your storm?

Sloan, I'm glad your kids may be moving to Shreveport end of the year. I know you're keeping your fingers crossed.

Maryann, glad your eye procedure turned out well.

05-22-2013, 11:56 PM
How'd that :hb: almost sneak by us here! Happy Birthday Vickie.

05-23-2013, 01:05 PM
Good morning. Earlier I dug up some blackberry bushes to trade to a friend in Grandview. She's giving me some moonflower plants.

Sun is shining. Friends are coming to shoot after lunch. Life is good.

05-23-2013, 05:38 PM
Sandra, the storm blew over. It's looking like rain again.

Maryann, glad you got your eyes taken care of.

I did low carb yesterday, but read about another diet that sounds doable. You set a time frame of 8 hrs when you can eat each day. For instance, noon until 8 pm. then you fast until the next day. I started it today and not sure if it works, but worth a try. It will keep me from late night snacking. I made spaghetti squash yesterday and added sauce and made a baked spaghetti. Having left overs today.

DH leaves on Sat. to spend another week at his parents. to relieve the sisters. I bought a chair at a thrift store that I"m going to attempt to reupholster. I haven't found my fabric yet, and I have plenty of tutorials on how to do it. Wish me luck.

05-23-2013, 10:35 PM
Pam..that sounds like an interesting diet..makes sense..

I went with my cousin to see Star Trek and liked it..
I have 4 free tickets to see the premier showing on June 13th of
Superman..I never get stuff like that , so I have to blab about it..:D

My sister in law lost 23 lbs since Jan on WW's points plus but my cousin is doing it and hasn't lost after 3 weeks. She came off low carb to WW so I wonder if that is why??

My grandson graduated from 5th grade today..Hard to beleive. His school did
an excellent program and talk to them about going into middle school .

I am sticking to the low carb and had a Mcdonalds sausage/egg/cheese without bread, greek yogurt, protein shake & salad today..

05-24-2013, 09:27 AM
Last day of school!!! :carrot:

05-24-2013, 07:53 PM
Yihooooo, Sloan!! Enjoy your summer.

Nancy, I'd blab, too, if I had free tickets to see Superman. You and I like the same kinds of movies.

Pam, that diet sounds interesting. Keep us posted.

We kept Alexa today. During the morning we went to Kennedy's 8th Grade Awards Ceremony. Kennedy got the Principal's award for 8th Grade girls. We're bustin' buttons!

If Alexa's awards are next Friday, I'm not going to tutor that day. Won't know till Tuesday. If so, I'll tutor 3 days next week then be finished. For sure!!

05-24-2013, 08:36 PM
Rhonda..great about the awards..!!!

Today I ended up going on a hike at our nearby lake with a friend and our 2 dogs( hers & my son's)
Then I got an hour notice for a second showing..That is great but the house, yard & pool were not as clean/blown/weeded as I have been keeping it..
So I did the best I could and then went to eat with my daughters family..
I had eggplant parmigiana without the pasta..It was great..

I found an apartment complex that is right in my favorite location and I love the apartments from driving thru .The area has the right feel to it. I haven't seen inside one yet .

05-24-2013, 10:06 PM
Nancy, I have had so many people say that the day they got a contract on their house was the day that the house was the messiest. It happened to me, too! Maybe today is the day!

05-24-2013, 11:02 PM
Nancy, fingers are crossed.

05-24-2013, 11:06 PM
Nancy, it's Sandra who gets the "great" about the awards..

NO awards here.

I've read everyone's posts, but forgive me for not replying individually...lazy tonight

Sandra, are you getting more storms? We tornadoes.

05-25-2013, 11:37 AM
Nancy, it's Sandra who gets the "great" about the awards..

Sandra..way to go !!!

and Rhonda, you get a friend & great person award !!!

05-25-2013, 07:10 PM
Rhonda, we got about .9 inches of rain yesterday. No problems, thank goodness.

Rhonda, I agree that you get friend and great person award!!

Cleburne got a lot of rain today but we didn't get any. We're about 5 miles east of Cleburne (Rhonda's hometown). We got a new birdbath set up today. So far no feathered friends have found it. The one we used to have is overgrown with groundcover roses. We let that bed get crowded so the rabbits would have good cover.

My eating's good. I made a homemade blackberry cobbler today that has enough butter and sugar in it to make Paula Deen proud. So far, I'm staying out of it. I also made a sugar free one to take to my brother. Our 10 yo granddaughter and I picked the berries yesterday. She didn't want any. She's our picky eater. (doesn't take after me at all).

05-25-2013, 11:08 PM
Well, thank you for my awards. I shall display them proudly. :)

Blackberry cobbler!!! Oh my oh my oh my.....

I've been good today but wasn't tempted with cobbler. Thank goodness.

I also did 20 minutes on the elliptical. I haven't done that in ages. My foot is a bit swollen but not awful.

My friend in Ottawa whose husband died is sending me a ticket so that I can go with her to spread his ashes at a the lake where they own a cottage. It will be in late July. She reminded me that after my husband died I had sent her a ticket to join me in Houston where I was with my sister. Karma's good.

Hi Ladies:)

A new Day and new week[[[[[Happy Memorial Day Weekend.]]]]
Going to be a quiet Sunday for me,all my friends are with there relatives. Thanks for starting us up this morning

Really nothing new,had brunch with a friend whose meeting here family alter on,and than going to a church service later on today. My frig is giving me problems again, going to see if I can fix it tomorrow before I get my handy man out here. Water is in the bottle of the crisper bins like the last time. The guy from Sears should me what to do,but I don't think I have the right screw driver or the right equipment to fix it.Well we will see.

Have a great day

05-26-2013, 07:50 PM
Rhonda, karma is wonderful! That was sweet of your friend to send you the ticket.

Maryann, it's good to see you here.

We're home from my brother's. We hadn't been gone from his house 10 minutes when he called to tell us the sf blackberry cobbler was good. Now we're home. Curtis has finished the sugar-laden cobbler. I resisted. I did have some Quaker Popped Chips and Supremely Spicy Hummus. I may go out to do some mowing (riding) or I may not.

We had a pool party here for my grandson's end of year fun..About 8 of his friends with parents..Fun, fun..
We used to do grill out/pool parties all the time but I don't do as many
Played Scattergories and the funniest conversations arise from the answers..
Was Robin Hood a villian or hero ?? One person gave him as a villian that began with R.. Then we played Rummikub..we get competitive !!!

Broke the low carb eating I have been doing because my daughter made her
amazing macaroni salad..I can't resist it..At least I sent it all home with them..

Happy Memorial Day!!!

I'm home alone, so nothing much going on here. I bought a chair from a thrift store and am going to attempt to reupholster it. Right now I'm removing the fabric and the gazillion staples. What a job. My shoulder is acting up again, due to all the tugging with the staples. I'm not sure how much I can do. Wish DH was here to help. I'm about half way through. Had my grandsons help me remove the double welp. I am just not as strong as I used to be.

Sandra, my husband loves cobbler. I need your sugar free recipes.

Maryann, hope you can get your fridge fixed. I remember you having problems before.

Rhonda, HI!!! I thought you said you lost 2 pounds, then I re-read it.

Nancy, I love playing games with the kids. We don't get together often enough. Wish we all lived closer.

Hi sloan and Vickie.

05-27-2013, 11:00 AM
Hi y'all! Happy Memorial Day :celebrate: We had our family celebration yesterday, and of course, I ate way too much!!!!! Today, we will work outside on some pallet furniture my DH has made for the porch. So far, we have a couch and two adirondack chairs. I took the cushions from an old couch and covered them with outdoor fabric, and we are really enjoying being comfy outside. I will post a pic when I get the cushions for the chairs done.

Memorial day is a sad day for us as it marks the day that my dad had his cardiac arrest. Although he died a week later, I think of this day as the day he died since it was the last day we were able to speak to him. Enough of that!!

On a grouchy note, I am so mad at myself :tantrum:! As you know, I had finally lost a few pounds and was pretty proud of myself. Well, that ole pride monster got me, and now I think I have gained it all back :tantrum: I am dusting myself off and planning to jump on the wagon if one of you will come by and get me!!

Pam, I am not an upholsterer, but I have helped my sister pull out staples; it is not fun. Make sure and post a pic so we can see the finished product.

Sandra, I am interested in your story about blackberries. Did you say you picked them? We don't get blackberries until June or July. Are yours planted or do you pick the wild ones?

Rhonda, I am so glad you get to be with your friend in July. What a bond the two of you must have!

Nancy, your pool party sounds fun! What is the secret of the macaroni salad?

Maryann, sorry about your fridge troubles. Hope that gets resolved soon!

 Vickie

05-27-2013, 11:40 AM
My chairs for my large round table came with ugly fabric covering the seats about 5 years ago..I even bought the material for redoing them , but it seems to stay on the to do list year after year..

Sloan, I can share her recipe but mine never comes out as good as hers..
She chills the cooked macaroni pasta first, adds mayo & pepper & season salt, chills again,
then adds chopped tomato, chopped green onion, chopped cucumber , and chopped egg.. I eat a second bowl instead of dessert usually !!
She will be over today so if you want details of amounts let me know..

Maryann, my frig is acting up and I am trying to not buy a new one because if I do sell and rent an apartment I wouldn't need it.. Hope you get yours fixed..

Lazy family day planned..Maybe strawberry picking..

05-27-2013, 01:51 PM
Happy Memorial Day Chicks! I slept late because I have been so tired lately. I just finished breakfast....10 till Noon! Going to throw myself back on the treadmill before I lose my motivation. No plans for us. Couple of burgers on the grill with a small baked potato and grilled corn.

Have a great one!

05-27-2013, 08:06 PM
Sloan, these are wild blackberries that grow around the barn and along the fence. Our youngest grand and I picked a quart. That was enough for 2 cobblers. I did plant 2 hybrid plants, but I don't think they are still among the living. These wild ones are hearty! I'm sending you a big

Pam, I make the blackberry cobbler just as always just substituting granular Splenda for sugar. If you'd like the recipe, I'll give it to you.

Nancy, your party sounds like such fun! I'm so looking forward to taking the grands to Splash Station again this summer. Our plan is to go on Mondays. My gf will be going taking her grand, too. Fun!

Vickie, your day sounds good to me.

Rhonda, I'm picturing you with a glass of wine and some cheese. Am I close?

We had 3 ladies out here most of the day shooting arrows and eating popsicles. Curtis joined us and gave some pointers. We're all sunburned but happy.

05-27-2013, 09:38 PM
Sandra, I felt your hug all the way in Tennessee! Thanks! It has been a day of reflection, for sure. I just looked at the blackberries on our property, and they are small and green. I guess your warmer weather speeds things up! We usually pick blackberries at least once in the summer and I make a cobbler. I just wish I could make one like my grandmother!

Nancy, thanks for the ingredient list. I think I can wing it on the measurements. I wonder if the secret is chilling the macaroni both times before adding the fresh ingredients?

Vickie, hope your day was restful!

I have downloaded a list that I plan to follow to get my clutter in order before school starts again. Today, I organized all of the drawers in my kitchen. Tomorrow, I will tackle the kitchen cabinets that contain the dishes that we eat from. The other cabinets will get done the next day. I really hope I can get this done. Once school starts, I am worthless when it comes to housework. Hope you all have a great evening!!

05-27-2013, 10:02 PM
Sloan..I meant to send hugs too !!!

I lost my dad from a heart attack on Valentines Day in 1998 and that day still
is a hard day..

05-27-2013, 10:44 PM
:( Thanks, Nancy!!!

05-28-2013, 12:10 AM
no, i was drinking bourbon in a bar, listening to a Bob Dylan tribute band...really :)

more tomorrow..

Good Morning Chicks! Joined WW online yesterday. H A D to do something. I'm feeling real lost. I get lots of points because I'm SOOO fat. But, I have a question. I'm using the tracker and it's telling me a cup of cherries is Z E R O points. Could that be right?

And, what is considered a serving when I'm deciding how many fruits and veggies I have had. Is it a half cup or a whole cup or does it depend? And if it is variable, how do I decide?

Somehow I think I remember a half cup is considered a serving?

Ugh...this really needs to be the time I reach my goal and maintain. I HATE this losing part.

05-28-2013, 09:00 PM
Vickie, I think it's half a cup for a serving. Congratulations on joining WW on-line. I hope it helps.

I've enjoyed reading everyone's posts. Sorry, about your sadness, Sloan. It's so hard to lose our loved ones. (And, yes, my friend and I are really close and will do anything for the other.)

I worked out with the trainer yesterday and in the garden for three hours today. I dug an additional butterfly garden. I am so sore I can hardly mover.

But, I did make a dinner of grilled ham steak, mustard greens, and corn bread. Tasty. I'm now going to do absolutely nothing.

05-28-2013, 09:09 PM
Vickie..My cousin is doing the ww points & my sister in law lost 23 lbs in about 4 months I think..You can do it..Summer will give you lots of fresh fruit & veggie choices..

I had a wonderful time with my grandson today..We got new tires this morning,
did yard work, swam, went to eat & went to see a movie (Epic).

The same people are asking my realtor lots of questions about the property, so at least I know they are still interested..

I may go to the mnts with a friend & her family this weekend but we are still
trying to find a place..

I am headed to bed early tonight and may watch a movie in bed. I love my netflix movies..

05-28-2013, 09:10 PM
Vickie, I joined WW online this morning! We must have been on the same wavelength :) I, like you, had to do something! I think having access to the iPhone apps will be really helpful for me. I agree with 1/2 cup being a serving. Also, all fresh fruits should be zero points. Good luck to us both!!

Rhonda, thanks for the kind words :) The butterfly garden sounds awesome! I have a butterfly bush and love watching the butterflies that it attracts. What plants will you have in your garden?

Hey to the rest of you chickies!

05-28-2013, 09:11 PM get so much done !! When you say you dug a butterfly garden , does that mean planting butterfly friendly flowers/shrubs ??

I may start doing WW instead of low carb..Not eating fruit right now is not working for me ..

05-28-2013, 11:57 PM
Yes,'s plants that attract butterflies and bees. I'll give you all a list tomorrow.

05-29-2013, 12:37 PM
Good Morning Chicks! This is hard. Feeling sorry for myself. I'll get over it soon. Day 3 and I'm hungry. Apparently, I was eating a lot more than I could admit.

Ready to go on the treadmill in a few minutes but wanted to stop in an say hello. Thanks for the information on the serving sizes. I guess I'll be eating more fruit than I normally would to try to help me get over my hunger.

Sloan, funny we both went for that special offer they just gave. I hope at the end of the 3 months we'll be doing so well that we'll both want to extend our membership. I'm tracking because it is the only way I can be successful.

Nancy, Sloan and I would love you on WW with us. I could live my life without fruit which is probably a good part of the reason that I weigh what I do. You sound busy and happy. Those are good things!

Rhonda, 3 hours.....W O W....I walked for 15 minutes and then went to Sam's, Costco, and Super Target. I was beat when we got home. How out of shape am I? I am always so impressed with you.

Sandra, I just finished re-reading Catching Fire while walking on the treadmill. You are my Katniss! Hope you're enjoying the kids and looking forward to your summer.

Pam, as I said on FB....I cannot wait to see the before and after on the chair. You are amazing. I have no vision. And, while you're working on the chair, you won't be eating.

Mary Ann, I hope you got that refrigerator fixed. I just had Sears here on my microwave. Now that we ordered replacement windows and will be buying a new car in August, there is NO money for new appliances.

Off to the treadmill!

05-29-2013, 12:51 PM
I finally saw movement on the scales in the right direction despite some
cheat carbs at our cookout, so I am sticking to the low carb another week before trying WW with some fruit..

Vickie...Third day is the hardest for me ..but I bet it gets easier afterwards..
What about some protein to help you hang in there, or broth..

05-29-2013, 05:28 PM
Vickie, I'm doing WW points plus now, too.

I am trying out some new snacks that are low point. We have sugar free popsicles that are 3 for 1 pt. The brand is Blue Bell. I don't think you have Blue Bell, but I'm sure there are other brands just as tasty. Also, at Walmart there's Sugar Free Miss Lulu's Jello--also 3 for 1 pt. I'm having mine sometimes with strawberries and a little Light Redi Whip. One squirt of the Redi Whip is 0 pts.

Quaker Popped Chips are low points. I'm eating them (salsa flavored) with salsa or Sabra Supremely Spicy Hummus. Also, there are Sensible Portions Cinnamon Apple Straws that are 38 straws for 3 pts. Nineteen straws take care of my sweet tooth. I've also bought Ranch Flavored Straws but haven't tasted them yet.

Blue Diamond Chocolate Dusted Almonds are good, too. One full serving is 5 pts, but half a serving (12 nuts) is plenty. Curtis eats them more than I do. I'm hovering around those lower point snacks.

I got all these ideas from friends who are on WW. Love the networking!! Oh! There's a low carb tortilla that's 1 pt. LaTortilla Factory Whole Wheat Low Carb (7 g fiber).

I've also added more protein to my bfasts. That's helping keep me satisfied till lunch. (That's where the tortillas come in sometimes. I eat a scrambled egg wrap with 1 point of bacon) Sometimes I eat a WW bfast sandwich. Anyway, protein at bfast really helps curb appetite.

I hope ya'll don't mind me telling you all this. I'm just so excited about these low point snacks and what I'm doing for bfast.

Best of luck to each of you. We can do this. We've done it before.

And, Oh! I'm finished tutoring. The other tutor and I decided yesterday was the end. The kids were good for us, but their hearts weren't into tutoring. They needed to be with their classmates and teachers since school's almost out for the summer.

05-29-2013, 05:33 PM
Thanks for the recommendations, Sandra. I, like Vickie, seem to be very hungry today. Not sure why. I have had protein for both breakfast and lunch, but still have a growling stomach :(

05-29-2013, 05:38 PM
Sloan, I hope you get over your hunger. I just finished my 2nd popsicle.

I forgot to post this: Nature's Own Double Fiber Bread. 1 slice + 1 pt.

05-29-2013, 05:43 PM
Vickie, I am honored to be your "Katniss." I'm planning to start training again now that I'm finished tutoring. Our next big tournament is August.

Rhonda, your butterflies should be very happy, lucky little critters.

Nancy, glad those folks are still interested. Fingers crossed!!

05-29-2013, 08:20 PM
Headed to a mountain cabin for the weekend with a good friend and her family.

05-29-2013, 10:31 PM
Have fun Nancy..

thunderstorms, and I'm off here...back tomorrow

05-30-2013, 11:19 AM
Rhonda, did you get any hail? All we got was rain. (Happy about that!)

Nancy, have a good weekend.

We're meeting some folks at the archery center at 10. Got to go. Have a great day!

05-30-2013, 01:13 PM
Good Morning Chicks! Day 4 and hanging in there. Had a horrible headache but I'm guessing that is detox. I peeked at the scale and at least it is moving. I'm strong in the beginning, it's endurance that I have a problem with.

Sounds like we are all doing fairly well.

Rhonda, I hope your storms were not severe.

Have fun Sandra at the center.

Nancy, more protein would be a good idea but I'm lazy in the morning and don't want to cook. I eat Kashi Island Vanilla and love it. I upped my serving size this morning from 27 to 38 biscuits. It cost me 2 more points but it was worth it. I had a couple of points left last night so I just need to get the hang of it again.

Hey to Sloan, Pam, and Mary Ann.

I'm finally getting to see Ironman 3 today. Our theater has a $5 special once the movies are out a while so I'm happy for that! I'll bring water and a small bar in my purse. We are going out for dinner afterwards. I'm out of practice calculating things but I've already decided what I will have. Just need to figure out the points.

05-30-2013, 01:20 PM
Hey Chicks! Look at this site I found. It has restaurants and some suggestions for lighter dishes to have there. I think there is even the information needed to compute points. My salad is too new to be listed.

Anyone want to take a crack at helping me compute mine? I really won't be able to tell until I see how many nuts and how much cheese they put on.

New! Roasted Beet Salad
Candied beets, spinach, romaine, mandarin oranges, and red onions tosed in mandarin orange vinaigrette with spiced pecans and goat cheese.

Normally the beets would be free but I'll have to compute something for them. Maybe 2 points. Then 2-3 points for the pecans since I'm guessing there will be 7-10. 3 points for an oz of goat cheese. And, maybe 4 points for 4T of dressing? Unless it's really sweet or fatty then more? I HATE this part. Maybe 15 points for the salad and call it a day? I'm guessing I'll want some pita squares or something with it but I'll have to see if I have points left by then. I do get a ridiculous amount of points a day.

05-30-2013, 03:05 PM
Vickie, your salad sounds yummy. Your calculations sound good to me. Thank you for the website. I'm going to bookmark it.

Enjoy the movie!!

We're home. Several of the folks that were there shooting are coming on out here in a few minutes. It's a good day. Tomorrow we'll be going to awards for Alexa (10 yo dgg) then we'll just piddle around the rest of the day.

Ya'll enjoy your Thursday.

05-30-2013, 05:55 PM
Hey Vickie, are you using e-tools? It is very helpful for tracking. If you don't have a smart phone, you can still use e-tools online. Let me know what you think. I had a "not so great" evening and a very bad morning, eating wise, but I refuse to give up. I will continue to track and try to stay within my points. Hang in there, we can do this!

Just got home from a busy day, so I have to get off here. May be back later.

05-30-2013, 08:20 PM
good evening chickies.

Vickie, I think you are safe with your 15 pts. The salad sounds yummy except for the beets. Was forced to eat them as a child and now I hate them. I'm sure they are good, but bad memories, so won't even try them.

Sandra, sounds like a full day. Enjoy.

I finally got all the staples out of the chair and was able to get it painted and ready for fabric. I hope it turns out nice. I'm excited. I ordered a double welt foot for my sewing machine and have to wait on it before I can start covering the chair. DH comes home on Sunday. Seems like a long week and his dad has kept him very busy. From roofing to painting to landscaping. But, it helps pass the time for him. It's starting to take a toll on him running there every month for a week or more. Seems like we are always apart.

Have a good evening. I'm done for the day and need to relax

05-30-2013, 10:47 PM
Pam, how far away is your DH driving to be with his parents? A week a month does seem like a lot of time apart. Ya'll hang in there.

I have done well pointswise today. I'm going to have some Ranier cherries in a bit. That'll be it for the day for me.

Tomorrow we're going to Alexa's awards ceremony. After that Curtis and I will go to lunch then to see "After Earth." I'm looking forward to our date.

05-30-2013, 11:37 PM
The salad sounds like it has a sweetness to it--candied beets and oranges. I don't care for beets either. There are few foods I don't like, but that's one.

We did not get hail, and not much rain... but, a lot of wind, sending the rain in sheets at an angle.

I've been in a fog all day because I didn't sleep well last night. But, I did go to the gym and took my great niece out, as I usually do on Thursdays. I also planted some Lantana and Penta in a flower bed--looks pretty.

Good luck with your sewing project, Pam. I bought a machine when I moved here and haven't sewn one thing :)

My eating has been good today--I even did NOT eat a hamburger when DH had one.

05-30-2013, 11:50 PM
My eating has been good today too..

Beets are one of the few foods I don't like either along with those pickled eggs
Robin used to make.

I was going to bed early but my cat has gone hunting again tonight, so I can't sleep until he is back in safe & sound..

Leaving for the mountains in the morning after taking my cat to the vet to board. Maybe he overheard that plan & has run away:D

05-31-2013, 08:54 AM
Morning chicks. Got up early today. Sunny, but maybe rain later in the day.

Sandra, it's a 4 hr drive to his parents. The sisters go home at night and he isn't able to do that. They aren't away from their spouses. It's hard and he's doing what he can to help his sisters. We have a 42 acre farm and with him being gone, it's makes it hard to catch up when he gets home.

Rhonda, where did you and your neice go? Great job declining the burger.

Nancy, have fun in the mts. Hope your kitty came home.

I think I lost a couple ponds. Working on that chair, I forget to eat. Plus, there is nothing here to snack on

05-31-2013, 10:53 AM
Good Morning Chicks! I was up early too but sat in the recliner in our room with my iPad until 6:15 when Mr. Brodie wanted out of his crate.

I'm doing well on program. The beet salad was nasty yesterday and I returned it. I ended up with a chopped salad that was just ok and not what I wanted. Sigh. Trying to make food be not so important, but it isn't easy.

I love beets and always have. I like most root veggies probably because I grew up on them. Beets have a really earthy flavor that some people don't like. I love liver too. I was eating this stuff and liking it before I realized that most people don't like them. I'll eat beets plain, pickled, name it!

Sandra, sounds like you have a fun and relaxing day planned. What is Alexa being awarded for? I loved Ironman 3 but Jim didn't like it as much as the first two. He thought there wasn't enough witty banter. I'm upset that I never made it to see 42 and now it's left the theater. I guess I'll have to rent it at RedBox. I think After Earth would scare me. I forget that it's just make believe.

Sloan, I am using etools. It was the big attraction for me to signing up online. I'm tracking on my desktop and am also using the app. I'm still stumbling around a bit but it's working ok. Tracking is what keeps me on program. I'm mad at myself and WW though, because I created a whole new account not realizing that I would not have access to all the old Core recipes that I sat and painstakingly entered into recipe builder. I called today and asked them if they could link them and they said no unless I dumped what I've already input this week. Ridiculous. I said no. I hope today is less busy and stressful for you.

Pam, your husband is being a great Son and you are certainly doing your share by being without him for such a long period of time. Will this be ongoing? Can't wait to see that chair. I'm constantly amazed at what folks can do. I have no imagination when it comes to that stuff. Maybe I'll forget to eat also when I'm sitting and re-entering all those WW recipes into Recipe Builder!

Rhonda, I hope you slept better last night. I sure didn't. Congratulations on not having a burger. When my salad was a bust, there were a few moments when I was reordering that I could have gone astray. This is a meal to meal decision.

Nancy, you too....all the beet haters here. Pretty funny! Hope you found your kitty and are on your way to a fun time.

Well gotta run....or walk on the treadmill and then head out for errands. Having leftover Chicken Enchilada Bake and have to enter it into Recipe Builder so I can see how many points I have available for lunch.

This is work!

05-31-2013, 11:14 AM
Hey y'all! I am loving the beet discussion. I am a beet lover, too, Vickie! Have to pass on the liver, though. I think today I will eat simply filling and see how the tracker works for that. I have been really hungry which is unusual for me.

Pam, I admire your husband. I have a brother who lives near my mother, and he doesn't even see her once a month. She does not need constant help, though. My sister, other brother, and I see my mother several times a week just to visit. She still drives and gets out with friends, too. Hang in there!

Rhonda, I have been planting some flowers, too. Way to go on the "hamburger avoidance".

Sandra, how was After Earth?

Nancy, be careful and have a great trip!

Hi, Maryann!

05-31-2013, 01:24 PM
Just typed a long message and sent it to cyberspace. Mainly I'm saying I love pickled beets. I also love cheeseburgers. I had one Tuesday for lunch. I did have mustard instead of mayo, though.

Those of you who still have parents are blessed. Pam, that is a blessing that your hubby and his sisters are working together. Give him an atta boy. I do understand the stress all this time away from home is having on ya'll, though.

Nancy, have fun in the mountains. I really miss the mountains.

We're leaving in about 10 minutes to go see "After Earth."

Alexa, got some reading and math awards this morning. Of course, she got "most adorable granddaughter" award from PaPa and MeeMaw.

Rhonda, we got a lot of wind, too, and just a quarter inch of rain. Looks a little like rain today but I hear tomorrow's our best chance.

Vickie, I'm learning more about etools, too. I wish I had an Iphone or some other phone that is more up to date so I could use it to help me. Maybe some day......

Ya'll have a great day.

05-31-2013, 11:38 PM
Hi y'all! The Oklahoma City tornadoes that hit tonight went right through the town where my daughter lives. She and her husband weathered the storm in an underground shelter and are safe. I am so ready for them to move!!!

06-01-2013, 12:36 AM
My cousins were in underground shelters too....what a mess this year, poor souls.

06-01-2013, 11:29 AM
Good Morning Chicks! SOOOO upset for the OK folks. Rhonda and Sloan, I'm thankful that your family members are safe and sound. I lived through an F4 in Oak Lawn, IL back in the 60's and it was the single most frightening experience of my life. We lost nothing but the experience and that eerie green sky and weird sulfur smell is something I will never forget. April 21, 1967 and it killed 35 people. It happened during rush hour and 16 of the people killed were sitting stranded at an innersection trying to get home from work. I was 11 years old and my Dad wasn't home from work yet. Now...whenever there is a tornado warning, still to this day it makes me anxious and sick to my stomach. Our basement is not fixed up but I probably should do a corner because I'm always trying to drag Jim and the dog down there during storms. He doesn't want to sit in a dirty dark basement! Ugh....part of life in the Midwest.

Sandra, I'm an Apple product girl and love my iPhone. Even my desktop is Apple. It's an expense but I love being able to multi-task no matter where I am. The desktop WW application is still pretty good though. You're using that aren't you?

Not sure if I can walk today. My foot/heel spurs took 5 days in a row but I may rest it today and resume tomorrow. Allergies here are crazy too because of all the rain. I've got my house closed up and the air on just to keep the pollens out.

Thinking about making Chicken Cacciatore tonight with whole wheat pasta, some veggies, and homemade applesauce. Jim is craving tomato products but I've been avoiding them and spicy foods because my hernia has been acting up for so long. It even sounds good to me.

What are the plans for the weekend? We have none!

06-01-2013, 01:55 PM
The storms that were in the Mid-west are moving toward Middle Tennessee, so it is cloudy here today. The weather is nice right now, though. I have been sitting on my porch working on a paper for my college class, but it is time to go in. The temp is definitely going up. My weekend will consist of the cleaning and organizing that I neglected during the school year. Not much fun :( but satisfying :)

Vickie, I am hanging in there on WW. How are you doing? Your experience with the tornado sounds very scary!

Rhonda, hope all is well with your relatives. DD and SIL did not have any damage but do not have electricity. Not too bad, considering.

Sandra, how was the movie?

 Pam, Maryann, and Nancy

06-01-2013, 04:36 PM
I'm doing well Sloan, except the no exercise thing today. I'm about to go up for a bubble bath with a 24 oz bottle of water and a cup of red seedless grapes. I'm going to pretend those are decadent!

I've definitely lost something but since I've 150 pounds to lose, I won't be celebrating much except my effort. I've been all over the map....couple days I had one or two points left, a couple I went over, and a couple I used exactly my points. I wish I could bank the days I don't use but I'm guessing that's not allowed since the tracker did not do that. I have 41 weekly points remaining and I haven't used any of my 5 exercise points. Yes....much to my embarrassment, I only earn 1 point for my treadmill. Apparently, less than 3 mph (I'm only at 1.8) is considered S L O W. And, since I'm only walking 15 minutes......

I did see that if I up it to 20 minutes, I'll earn 2 points. I'm not really worried about the points since I don't plan to eat them but I am quite concerned about my LDL and would like to get it going down in the right direction.

All I can say is that I am REALLY following the program and I EXPECT to be rewarded!

What about you?

Vickie, I'm doing WW etools on my laptop so I'm mobile around the house. I need an Ipad or Iphone, though. Maybe someday soon. Your idea of fixing the basement for a shelter sounds good to me.

Do ya'll think there are more tornadoes now than there used to be or do you think meteorologists are just more able to detect them now? Just wondering.

Sloan and Rhonda, I'm glad your familes were safe. You had to be really worried.

Our weekend plans? Curtis had company this afternoon. My gf may come out tomorrow afternoon. Not much other than that.

I'm doing well OP. Surely hope I have a good loss Tuesday.

Vickie, I tracked points for a couple of days then have done core/simply filling. I am trying to stay off the scale and wait for one week before weighing. All in all, I think I am doing pretty well. I have used a lot of my weekly points, though.
