100 lb. Club - A different kind of "what size are you?" Thread

05-11-2013, 08:50 PM
My jeans got me thinking... What size am I?

My 12s are way too big but I can't get my 10s onto (and over) my hips.

I could try a different brand or style, but I'm lazy lol

So, I'm not a 12 and I'm not a 10.

What size are you???

(You can only answer by saying what size you're not. Lol)

My 16 capris are too big (but I love the fit and brand), went to the store and can't even button the 14 of the same exact brand and style.

My 14W's are way too big and the 16s are a bit snug in the legs but big in the waist/lower belly area.... frustrating

I'm 5'4 and 203 right now...I have three pairs of Old Navy jeans, all size 16 short. One is falling off, one is just right, and one is too tight! So I guess I'm a 16.

I seem to remember that there are less pounds between the sizes the lower you go...so there might only be 7 lbs between a 2 and a 4, but maybe 20 lbs between a 16 and 18. Annoying! We need half sizes :)

05-11-2013, 09:46 PM
my 20 dress pants are too loose but my 18 dress pants make my tummy bulge and button only if I REALLY suck it up !! :(

05-11-2013, 09:57 PM
Size 20 is too big. Size 16 wont' zip up. Size 18 is juuussst right. :)

05-11-2013, 10:17 PM
22s fit 20s fit 18s too small.

05-11-2013, 10:28 PM
Some 20s some 18s

05-11-2013, 10:45 PM
I'm no longer a 24, but sometimes am a 10 and sometimes a 12. Sometimes from the same manufacturer. Go figure.

05-11-2013, 11:42 PM
I am no longer a 20..I got rid of all those those jeans today to goodwill because they were falling off of me... my 18 jeans are sliding off me too, but I don't have anything smaller right now so I actually don't even know what my current size would be! haha

05-11-2013, 11:56 PM
16s from Old Navy are baggy, 16 from the Gap zip but are snug. Not buying new jeans anytime soon so I guess I'm a baggy Old Navy 16 for a little longer before I'm a comfortable Gap 16.

Keep Moving Forward

My 24s are too baggy & most of my 22s are too snug.... :dunno:

05-12-2013, 01:25 AM
My Old Navy 12s fit in the hips and the tummy, but gap in the back waist :(

I'm too cheap to buy other jeans, so I'm living with these for at least another 8 lbs, which is when I go from "fast" weight loss to "slow" weight loss on my plan.

05-12-2013, 01:48 AM
Now that I'm typically a 16 I can finally fit into the 20's I'd bought at Torrid back when I was still a size 20. What can I say? They were cute, on sale, and I didn't try them on until I got home. :p

05-12-2013, 02:01 AM
I have jeans ranging in sizes from 18-24. The 24s are falling off (literally), the 22s loose and gap at the waist, 20s are perfect (all of these are Sevens). I have a cute pair of size 18 (don't remember brand, got them at Nordstrom) boyfriend cut jeans that fit me perfect? And they're the softest jeans I've ever owned - I love them!

I have jeans ranging from sizes 16-24. The 24s fall off...the 22s are baggy...the couple pairs of 20s I've been wearing mostly fit, but start to get saggy in the butt/thighs after about an hour or two...and, the 18s come up to my hips, but they're nowhere near zipping up yet. As for the 16s...I'm not even going to look at them for at least another 30+ lbs! Haha.

So, technically, I'm a non-size all around, because none of them fit right...lol. However, I would probably say 20, if I had to choose. All depends on the brand. :dizzy:

I hear you on the baggy bum after an hour ophelia, that's what I'm dealing with now, I need my stomach to shrink a bit so I can tighten my belt comfortably. :)

I started out in 18's which are way too baggy now, wearing 16's but they are a bit baggy. Don't fit into 14's yet.

05-13-2013, 07:56 AM
I can still wear my (US) 18 jeans if they're straight out of the wash with a belt. I don't yet have the courage to go up to the attic to retrieve my size 16 stuff.

I just wore a Size Small dress very easily, but I'm actually quite sure it was mislabelled.

05-13-2013, 08:58 AM
I'm an 11.

Unfortunately they don't make misses 11, so I'll prattle about in these 12's for 5 more agonizing pounds.

05-13-2013, 10:18 AM
It depends on the brand and the style of pant. Even though I'm at 280 I tried on a pair of my friends 18 jeggings and they fit perfectly, but for the most part I would say I'm in a 22. My 26's have already made their way to the Goodwill pile (they were always a little big - even at my heaviest), and I've started putting some of my 24's away.

I've heard that to, that there is a less of a difference in weight between sizes the smaller you are. My sister had everything from a 2 to a 10 depending on the brand of jeans/pants.

I just have to try things on...that's why I don't really do online shopping becasue I've found even different colors of the same size/brand will fit differently.

05-13-2013, 11:05 PM
I'm usually a 12, but I have an 8 that (mostly) fits, and in some brands I can go up to a 16. I think it really depends on not only the band but the cut of the jean. I have bigger thighs but very small hips, so I generally have to get larger sizes unless they are more roomy in the legs.

05-14-2013, 12:36 AM
My official 'fat' pants are size 20 and they are falling off. The size 16 jeans I bought last year actually zipped up yesterday but gave me serious muffin top and my size 18s range from loose to can't breathe.

05-14-2013, 08:25 AM
I am fairly tall at 5'8. When I was 300 pounds I wore size 26 jeans. (Wal-Mart Faded Glory jeans-nothing special) LOL Now at 253.6 I wear a 22. Since I have been losing I have hit the thrift stores and get great deals. In my area there are lots of big Thrift stores. I can get name brand used jeans for 6 bucks or less even.

05-14-2013, 11:33 AM
I'm an 18 now, but my 18s are a bit big. I have semi-officially retired all my 20s.

I have two pairs of dress pants in size 16W Short that fit really well, but these have elastic waists. The one pair of size 16 jeans I have does not quite zip up. In tops I am still mostly 2x. I have a few 1x tops. My arms seem like they are going to be the biggest limiting factor with sizing down in blouses.

05-14-2013, 11:40 AM
My favorite jeans are size 10 and they fit perfect. My fancy jeans are size 10 and they give me a muffin top. Yesterday I wore, beautifully, a size 8 wrap dress and today I am wearing my size 12 pants comfortably.

05-14-2013, 11:54 AM
I am currently wearing a size 12 in old navy jeans ..like alot of they fit at the hips but gap big time at the waist, I am always paranoid that my panties are showing or that i look much bigger then i am because of the added inches. the bulk majority of woman are in fact pear shaped its a shame designers wont make things to actually fit our bodies. once I reach my goal weight and maintain for a while i will buy jeans and get them tailored to actually fit me !
