Default How to choose a surgeon? (and SF Bay Area Recommendations?)

As I start to approach my goal, I am pretty sure I will go out and get a tummy tuck and maybe my arms done about a year after my weight stabilizes. In the meantime, I've been reading up on local plastic surgeons and I am very overwhelmed. I feel like picking the right one is so important!

Does anyone have a suggestion? I live in the South Bay/Silicon Valley but would drive for a great surgeon.

Thanks!

Also general input on how to choose a surgeon would be greatly appreciated

Do you belong to an HMO ? They probably would have a choice of several. Living in South Bay there should be lots of choices, You have great hospitals there.

I have a high-deductible PPO with an HSA. So really I have almost too many choices! and if they won't cover it, then I can really go anywhere!

I'd check out realself.com to start. You can look for doctors in your area and reviews of how people found their service (bedside manner, information aftercare etc). Plus look at examples of their work. Good luck!

Stanford might be a good place to start.
