I'm 15 lbs away from the top of my goal weight. Maybe we could support each other?

These last pounds are the hardest to take off. I would love to have some friends working along with me :)

I've got about 18 pounds to go, I think. I still don't really have a 'set in stone' goal weight. Originally it was 170, now it's 160. I don't think it's going to move much from there.

Both of you have lost so much weight already, congrats!

I've got 16 pounds 'till my original goal (my goal might change when I get there though, I'll just have to wait and see).

And yes, it's too true: the closer I get the slower it goes! We're talking molasses in January slow.

Elvis, thank you!!! I think we are very similar. I read all your posts and I am on a doctor-supervised low calorie program, too. Mine is called HMR. It's not very common, which is surprising to me as it is very successful. It is run out of the Weight Management department at my doctor's office and my supervising doctor also sees a lot of weight loss surgery patients and she says my program is more successful at the 5 year mark for weight kept off then the surgery.

What is your program like? I bet you exercise more that I do. We have to burn 2000 calories a week and I usually do 2000-2200.

I am 17 pounds from my goal, so i am with you. I am having trouble moving the scales down. I go through periods of them getting stuck to a number, then come 2-3 days where they go UP, and then suddenly they go down further than before and then.......get stuck there again....till next time. I suppose that is the way my body is loosing weight and sometimes it's frustrating.....it took me 3 freaking months to loose 12 pounds. I know it's so so slow, but i cannot do it quicker. I need to eat properly or else i am going to faint. Too much fatigue during my day. I am highly active so i do not aim on crash diets. I suppose if i ate less i would have seen quicker results, but i try not to fret too much about my slow progress.....

Well, I'm a bit above that as I would really like to get to 165 and I'm a shade over 185), but anything under 170 is golden in my book.

Of course, the last time I joined a "last 15-20 pounds" I never lost the last 15-20 pounds!!!! ARGH!!!

This time is different though and I'm rolling along. AND I'm stronger (physically) and more fit. Now I want people to be able to see that muscle definition, not have it hidden under the layers of fat! (I'm at about 33% body fat right now).

Mmm.....and it's people like YOU than make me want to keep going. When i see on your ticker 128 pounds LOST....i say 'ok, shut it and work on it'....you are an inspiration also. :D

As of today (after a carb and sodium feast of 4 days;ugh) I have exactly 20 pounds to my 1st acceptable (high) goal; healthy BMI.

I am super sensitive to carbs, and it is interesting to hear that many, many more women complain about the same problem. -- I just "gained" 3.4 pounds in 4 days eating maint level of calories but diet loaded with carbs and salt. It is going to take me 7-10 days to rid my body of this water.

My goal is to get there by September 10th. Sucks to go another summer fat, but oh well; such is life.

I am not at that point but have been, I thought I would never lose that last 10 pounds and almost changed my goal weight but stubbornly persisted and was eventually successful.

Hey ladies! I'm at 144 today (yippee!) and I'm feeling good! My final goal weight is 120, so I'm just above 20lbs away, but I'm excited nonetheless! I'm about half-way through this thing!
sum: my boyfriend does NOT understand that I CANNOT eat carbs and salt like he does. He literally eats a whole box/bag of pasta in one sitting. And he's about 200lbs and 6'2"! In shape! *sigh* If I did that, ooooh lawdy.... But at least I've gotten him to start buying whole grain or veggie pasta, so I can have >a serving as PART of a meal SOMETIMES and not have any issues. Overall I feel less bloated and gross when I have a diet based on nutritional needs that's heavy in raw fruits and veggies :)

I have 5lbs to my original goal, but the closer I get the more clear it becomes that isn't the point at which I want to start maintaining. I started NRLW so I'm thinking I might change my goal from a weight to BF%. I'm 26.2% BF right now, I have a goal of 22-23%.

I lost 1.6 pounds of my carb bloat, a few other days of clean eating and I should be back to 150's where I was at a week ago, before my rendezvous with carbs.

178.6 today, so 13.6 away from goal. I was returning a dress (too big!) in Bloomingdales and I walked by a mirror and thought to myself "holy crap- I look NORMAL!"

19 to go! I've been stalled here for a good 5-6 months too (well, stalled around 172-173).

169 is actually the lowest I've ever hit though and I'm pretty determined right now... I really want to get down to my lowest weight ever before (160) and then goal! (150)

I am at this point and it's freaking driving me bat &$%%^ crazy. The body is holding on to weight now like there's no tomorrow.

Sometimes I just feel like tossing it in and being done, but I'm not throwing in the towel yet. Maybe I will stop before 140, but I definitely want to hit 150 even if it takes another six months.

10-15 lbs to go!! Although I have stopped using my scale. After a few weeks of working out and changing up my eating habits, I felt GREAT...but the scale jumped up a few lbs! I think it was due to my getting back to strength training, so all the water retention and what not. So I'm avoiding the scale for now, but I still consider myself under 20 lbs from goal!!

Was not behaving really well last 2 days. Ate a whole chocolate chicken and ENJOYED every mouthful <3 My scales are down to 156 alright, BUT because i cheated and ate something i wasn't supposed to the last two days i will wait a couple of days more before i change the ticker. I have a feeling i will go back up to 158 soon enough. That chocolate heaven is going to catch up with me i know......!!!!! :D

Sunster2, thank you:D and that is correct!! I tried on some of my old clothes yesterday (from before I gained all my weight back) and most of them actually fit. I was in total disbelief but I have been working by butt off, literally, to get this weight back off of me.

When I hit about 20 pounds to go I started an exercise program. That was almost exactly one month ago. It's taken awhile for my body to get used to exercising again and my weight loss almost completely stalled. I lost a total of one and a half pounds in 3.5 weeks. It was really frustrating. However I think my body is finally adjusting and it's letting go of some excess weight, I've lost 2 pounds the last 2 days which is super exciting. I'm down to 176.2 and now have 16 pounds to go!

Has anyone else has stalls in their weight loss now that you're getting closer to your goal?

Sunster2, I'm not really on a diet. I say this because I decided to just watch my portions. However, here's the catch, I exercise like a mad woman. I'm not working right now so I'm constantly in the gym to keep from being so bored. I go twice a day for at least 1.5 hours each time. I do all kinds of exercise ( Zumba, cycle, hip hop, pretty much all the classes my gym offers).

Around breakfast I keep my meals light (when I eat breakfast, I am currently fasting until mid day) lunch is usually a chicken breast with veggies or fruit. For dinner I eat whatever my heart desires, as long as I watch my portions. I eat so light during the day because dinner is important to me, and I like eating junk food :o( pizza, nachos, sweets). My dinner choices are rarely "healthy", but its working for me, and when it stops working I'll try to eat healthier for dinner.

*I'm not suggesting anybody else do this, it just works for me at this point.

I joined the under- 20lbs-to-go club this morning! So exciting cuz I barely lost anything in a month (1lbs) and then 3lbs in one week! ShaMac I am like you in that I can't say I eat healthy all the time, but youre one up on me cuz for me exercise is minimal so I just eat very little when I eat junk which is still almost every day.i love chips and cheese and bread! Gotta have a taste even if that's all I can have. Some days it's like I am on an all carb diet. Not recommended!

I hope everyone is doing well!

I am down a bit more, atleast for today I was out of another decade. We shall see what tomorrow brings. -- I am under some serious stress, have a cold (poor me :)) and TOM is just around the corner. -- I hate the 160's! I used to loathe the 150's but for now I am dancing with happiness to see that 15x.x on my scale. Funny how our perspective changes. -- It will be interesting to see, IF I manage to hit my goal #1; normal BMI and how I feel about it. The old me 7 years ago would have thought that I was fat as a cow at that number, the new me may be perfectly happy and decide that 140 will be my goal. My ultimate goal of 125 seems so far away and unachievable.

15.5 pounds to go (as of Saturday morning), I'm hoping my weekend away didn't make me get further from my goal, I did try to stick within my calories!

Underwater- I love the idea of writing your goal weight on the bathroom mirror once you hit 10lbs. I may steal that idea and write in all over my kitchen.

sunster2- I keep it simple (for me) by tracking my calories. Right now my calorie goal is 1500 and I eat anything as long as it's within my goal. For the most part it's a lot of chicken breast and veggies with the odd chocolate and wine thrown in! As for exercise I lost most of my weight without any, but I'm currently doing C25K 3x a week, cycling 2x and weight training 4x.

I changed my goal weight. 3 lbs to go to my original goal weight of 120.
13 pounds to go to my new goal of 110 ! I am pretty sure I will keep on changing my goal weight though.

According to my scale this week I have met and exceeded my goal at 141.6. I'm just not sure how accurate that is since it's declaring that I lost 7 lbs in one week :?: my original goal was 145 but I am going to change it. I'm not sure what the new number will be, I'll just keep going until it feels right. I'll keep my ticker the same just in case the scale made a mistake, so that I don't get my hopes up!

Hi! I'm Chandler and I'm looking to lose 15-20 pounds. I am a huge all-or-nothing dieter. Either my day goes perfectly, or I have a little slip-up in the morning and eat like crazy for the rest of the day. It makes me feel really terrible about myself. I am excited because 15 lbs is doable... but I can't believe how much work it is just to lose this weight. wow. I think honestly... it is going to take to October. But I had a great month so I feel like it is doable. I am also goal of 142... what is it about that weight, I see a lot of people have it.

Right now, exactly 20 lbs from goal. :)

I remember when this thread was first started and I was just a bit over 22 or 23 lbs from goal. And it was a bit of a downer to me that I didn't fit in the club.

Well, now I do and it's a nice little milestone to have made it to this point. It took me two freakin' months, so it's nice to have this as a milestone to have reached by that two pounds.

:)
