I don't think there is a thread for the 290s so now there is - after this we can all join the established "getting out of" threads.

I might be talking to myself for awhile but hopefully JustB and Sunday will be here very soon I think. I'm saving you guys seats!

If there are any others in the 290s give a shout out. We're all in this together.

I'm enjoying the motivation to stay on plan but having a hard time getting all my water in. Time to break out my trusty water bottle and work that back in to my routine.

Think I'll go downstairs and make some green tea, then fill my water bottle.

I'm sure you'll be fine! I'm hoping for a good whoosh here one of these days! I feel really good - went for a 90 minute walk tonight - unheard of a few months ago. So regardless of what the scale says I'm truckin along.

Hi all. Well, I've gone the wrong way, up from the "Getting out of the 270 & 280's" group. I am struggling, so maybe just by admitting I need help will get me going.

I had lost a bunch, down to about 245, but then just lost focus and life got to be stressful. Excuses, but I just didn't pay attention, and now here I am, higher than ever. I'm just trying to get back to the really good habits I had before.

You guys seem like a fun group... even if there are only 2!

Well I'm sort of in limbo having hit 299 last week but on Sunday (my official weigh in day) I was back up to 301.

Welcome to our little corner of the world. I struggle all the time - sometimes I think I'm great at weight loss and sometimes I think I suck. The reality is probably in the middle.

Sunday is also my weigh in day and I also have feelings of being so amazing at this and then an hour later I want to eat all the junk I can find! It is a long road we are on with lots of hills bumps and breakdowns! Luckily we have lots of support from each other to make it !

I am doing ok food wise. I am just in bad mood. I am seeing results and I know I am doing all of the right things. I am just frustrated in general. At life. Love. Work. Everything. I know it's because of TOM but geez! I swear sometimes it just sucks being a girl!

I've got some good walks in over the past couple of days and my eating has been ok - scale is not showing progress but my energy level is way up.

Hey Rodeo Girl...I didn't even seen this thread until this morning. I think I'm under 290 now, but I don't do my official weigh-in until Sunday. I thought that was weird that there wasn't a thread for 290 but there seemed to be for every other weight range.

Personally, I can't believe what a difference there was in my personality when the scale was under 300. I still weigh too much to use my sister's scale...but hopefully in another month or two I will be able to.

Yeah, even though the scale is sort of stuck right now I feel so much better than I did in March. I'm getting more exercise and just feeling better about myself.

I'm pretty new here and just found this thread . . . I weight 296 when I joined the board. I'm down to 293.6 . . . Is this the place for me until I get down to _under_ 290? I think that's what the board title means. If so, yay, because I have lots of bellyaching to do . . . I mean I need lots of support. :) (Will give it back too, of course!)

Must go to the gym...... I was doing so well for so long, and then let it go. It is so hard to get back into good habits, but so easy to go with the bad habits.

I shouldn't wait, but I'm targeting Monday as the day I start back up at the gym, and no stopping for two weeks. I figure that I will be back in the swing of things within that time. I hope.

I swear I've been bopping around the 290's for months now! I haven't actively been trying to lose again until about a month ago when I had gotten back up to 300, but seriously I'm so so so ready to move past 290. Seems like such an impossible obstacle, glad I'm not alone up here!

Sarah: You're re-motivated and re-starting for reasons so similar to mine. My scale said 297 and this little voice said, "Remember all those years ago when you thought you may be packing a bit of extra weight, sure, but you'd never hit 200 lbs . . . Look how you met and surpassed that! Don't make that mistake with 300!"

You are definitely not alone--and you'll be past this perceived obstacle sooner than you know.

See you in the 80s!

It will sound so funny, but even though I was just in this 290s thread for a week, it was a HUGE help to me. Having such a tangible goal (get into the next thread) kept me focused, and see all the success-telling graphs made me so excited for the day when I'll have one. I want to see my little icon moved a bit along, not right at the beginning of my goal when I qualify for a weight-tracker.

And now, hooray, here's my good news: I weighed in at 288.6 today . . . So see you in the 80s. Hurry, I can't wait to visit you there! :)

EvieBaby: I did the exact same thing! I think the first time I weighed myself after I passed 200 I was already well over it (like 240s I think), and even still I told myself well you went over but it's all down from here! Lord knows why I had to tip over 300 to REALLY take it seriously. Thanks! I don't how many times I've started over but man it sucks. Congrats on passing into the 280s! Hope to join you very soon :)

After a huge 5 pound loss last week I have a sinking feeling I might have a gain this week! I had TOM and I think I may still be holding a little fluid from that. I dont know. I guess we will see!

Grats Eviebaby!!

I am squarely/officially back in the 290s (from my little foray back into the 300's last week) at a solid 299.0, lol.

Went for a short trail walk today and then attempted to hike a hill to steep for me. BUT I got at least 1/3 of a mile up a pretty steep grade before deciding to turn back. I was more worried about descending with my bad knees than anything else, and the descent was tough. I hope to return later in the hiking season with a little less weight and my trekking poles. :)

I did not have a gain but a .2 loss! It is not a great loss but it is not a gain so that is something!!

I've been busy - not posting as much but still reading and visiting at least once a day.

Thankfully part of the stuff keeping me busy is walking/hiking so that's a very good thing. :)

Also I saw your loss in that other thread and had a few thoughts! :)

I have been walking a lot more too! I walked about 10 miles this weekend! Not running or even going very fast but I did it anyways.

I pretty much gained the week I started walking - I think maybe it's just water doing it's thing, or at least part of it.

You guys are all doing so well! I'm kind of at a stand still, not gaining, not losing, half cheating on my diet. It's finals and I'm super stressed out and BUSY but I have not fallen off the face of the Earth! I should be back in the swing of things by next Monday.

I understand about stress - this past month I ate out a lot more and want to buckle down a bit in May. But at the same time I didn't grow to resent my new healthier habits, still lost a couple pounds, and FEEL really, really good mentally and physically.

Yeah I wanted to lose ten pounds at least and lost like 4 but....I'm still going in the right direction. Anyhow sometimes you have to know when it's time to not let healthy eating destroy your life. ;)

Well this morning the whoosh fairy came and I weighed in at 297. My goal for the April daily weigh in thread was 296, it's possible that I could hit that tomorrow, though I'm not holding my breath.

I kept fearing I'd suddenly be back at 305 but I was pretty on plan. I think all the extra walking made me hold water for a bit.

It was pouring down rain this morning but it's clearing now - my hiking boots and trekking poles are in the car waiting for me.

I just have to make myself go for a couple of weeks and then it should be part of my routine. Tomorrow is body pump, so I need to be there. It's so hard to get back in the groove!!!

I am amazed at how I almost talked myself out of going this morning. I need to somehow get the lazy voice out of my head!! I think I might weigh tomorrow. I usually weigh on Mondays, but maybe twice a week would be better.

lol apparently I just can't stay in the 200's gotta always go back into the 300s. The last 2 days have had me back up at 301ish.

I need to get more serious about water/sleep I think.

Did another hike yesterday - it was up, up, up hill. Got a great workout. I'm healthier than ever, just still hovering right on that 300 mark. Ggggrrrrrrrrrr.

Day 3 at the gym. I made it to spin. New instructor for me, and he was good. I kept looking at him, he seemed really fit and young, yet there was something about what he said and his voice that made him seem older. Then, when he mentioned something about seeing his grandkids this weekend, I knew he just looked really young for his age. Smart guy, staying that fit.

I also weighed, and it was higher. Ticks me off, but with just getting back into working out, it might be water retention. But, I'm going to adjust my ticker. It is what it is, and I just need to keep going.

rodeogirl: You should get some rewards for being so active and healthy. That weight should drop!!! Hang in there!

rodeogirl - I feel your pain! I was stuck there for the past few months, going between about 294 - 302 just back and forth back and forth. Keep at it, the weight will come off eventually! It's got to!

Slashnl - Good for you to sticking to the gym! For me, whenever I start any new kind of exercise, I shoot up on the scale. Guess my muscles need a lot of water to recover! You're right, and you have a really good attitude. A whoosh is coming your way!

I don't know why, but this thread has seriously motivated me to bust outta the 290s once and for all! I've been stuck up here for so long that I couldn't imagine ever getting out of it, but I'm so so close!

I only weigh on Sundays. I dont expect anything good though. I have ate out for dinner every night this week!!! I tracked everything as best as I could! I stayed within my MFP calories but I ended up using some of my WW weekly points. I did not get my walking in every day but I did most days. I can't predict the scale but we will see in the morning!!!

It's not likely but it IS possible, so I'm gonna shoot for the moon anyway! I can't wait to get back to once a week though - seeing the number jump up and down is really taxing!

Man, I really hope Elvis doesn't have the problems I've been having. I've been on plan though not perfectly - but this bouncing around 300lbs is maddening lol.

Well it will just make getting into the 280's that much sweeter. :) Then I'll know the 300's are really behind me!

Well, I really like you guys so I decided to pop back up here for awhile. Forgive me for feeling a bit sad about it though! My birthday kinda derailed me. I'm still down from my April 20 start date, but I'm solidly back in the 290s (293.2 to be exact).

Will you accept me back even though I hope to desert again soon? :) :)

Isn't it the worst? Thank you!! I'm pretty sure the doctor's scale will be a little over 290 because of clothing, but it will be a lower than last time anyway!

That is super awesome news! Especially with work being so busy (something that can sometimes derail a person). I think you HAVE SAID goodbye to the 300s. Yay and congrats!

I saw 300 again when I hopped on the scale at night, but that doesn't count. Today was a-ok at 297.

Although dropping 10+ pounds a month sounds wonderful, this time around I'm going with slow and steady wins the race. I stopped my food diary because it was stressful, so I know I'm eating more calories than a few weeks ago. But the way I'm eating now is truly something I can do for life so a slower loss is ok for now.

We'll see how it goes, I might get impatient and shake things up. :)

Well, I hit 289.6 today, but if it's all right with you guys I'm not rushing off just yet. As I learned at the end of April, the scale is cruel when there are mere ounces involved. I'll keep visiting here 'til the end of May. Hopefully some of us will leave this thread together then! :)

Well, I hit 289.6 today, but if it's all right with you guys I'm not rushing off just yet. As I learned at the end of April, the scale is cruel when there are mere ounces involved. I'll keep visiting here 'til the end of May. Hopefully some of us will leave this thread together then! :)

I'm here - actually saw 289 this morning on the scale, out of no where, I expect it's more of a fluke than anything. Doesn't count until Sunday anyhow!

I'm here, mostly lurking these days just trying to deal with life, bills, etc. :)

I am doing a lot more lurking than posting. My scale is crazy. Finishing up the school year with my daycare job and getting ready to start the summer camp school age job! I got talked into auditoning for a community theater play and somehow ended up with a part! So getting ready for a crazy summer!

Sorry I haven't been posting as much. Just been super busy.

I'm doing well. Trying to eat lots of veggies, less carbs. I love vegetables, to that's not a problem, but I've been crazy busy cleaning the property and buildings in a new place to call home, plus with work, so it's hard to not just eat fast food. I have been resisting though, so good!

I'm down to 286.8 but I'm not leaving 'til the end of the month because a body can flucuate a bit (as I learned when l leapt too soon last month--but that was at 288.8, so hopefully I won't jump up again).

Hope your busyness is feeling exciting, not stressful!

Here's to a great end to May for us all!

Great job Evie! I know it's nice to feel like you've settled into the next decade before actually making the jump. No harm in that!

Especially since the next threads typically cover two decades.

The past two days I've been hovering around 290ish so hopefully it won't be too long until I'm with ya in the 280's. I'm assuming I'll go back up a bit this week as that's how my weightloss tends to go. :)

I was up yesterday, then down today from yesterday, but still not at where I was at Tuesday. Very maddening (but still ultimately down and I've been eating well, in control, etc., so I'm hoping it's just a normal body thing, not an actual fat gain).

:( :( Very frustrated by the past week's daily weigh in. Feel like with the way I've been eating I should be down below 286 (my lowest since I started here April 20)--not slowly creeping up/maintaining a higher weight (289.2). Hope I can keep motivated and not eat junk!

LOL, but also small groan. I think you're wise. But I have a double problem. Daily weighing stresses me out a little--but it keeps me focused the whole day. When I weigh in weekly (or worse, monthly), I have a really hard time fighting the "Oh, well, I'll just over eat tonight once more--then I'll make up for it tomorrow." (Which, of course, only leads to "one more" binge, then "one more.")

If I'm still feeling frustrated by daily scale trips end of the month, however, I will try weekly just to change it up.

I weigh daily otherwise I just give up. I only record the weekly number on Sunday mornings though, so that's the only number that counts.

I didn't weigh this past Sunday so I don't get to enter anything for this week but am holding pretty steady in the mid 290's.

I'm trying to be a lot less focused on how much weight I'm losing and a lot more focused on eating healthy for the rest of my life. I know that I can't strictly count calories forever, it'll drive me nuts. So while I'm still aware of the calories I'm eating, I'm not tracking every tic-tac. My scale is the thing keeping me honest.

I set a threshold - if my weight is over that threshold for three weeks in a row, then I have to go back to a very strict calorie counting regime. My current threshold is 299. If I record three Sundays in a row over 299 then I would have to go back to the strict food diary.

After I get into the 280's I'll bump it down to 295, etc.

Anyhow my scale is a critical tool and daily weighing is a big piece of the accountability.

Very excited! My scale showed 285 this morning--my lowest weight since joining the board April 20 (my starting weight was 296). Yay! I think, hope, that even with gain/loss fluctuations I should be able to stay under 290. I'm heading down to the Getting out of the 280s-270s thread. Wish me luck and join me there soon! :)

Im 291 so I got 2 pounds left to loose before I get in the 280's, I might already be there, I dont know, I only weigh when I go to the doctor's cause my mom says weighing at home will make me sad and make me not try anymore if I dont loose any or if I gain so I dont have a scale at home

Well, it doesn't look like anyone is posting her anymore, but since I find myself in the 290's I'm going to post to at least be accountable to myself. We moved last year and my bathroom scale got "lost" in a box that has yet to be unpacked. I was a weigh everyday kind of gal so to go almost a full year without weighing was unnerving. I finally broke down and got a new scale and almost cried when I saw my weight. THE MOST I HAVE EVER WEIGHED IN MY LIFE!!! I was 3lbs heavier than when I went into the hospital to deliver a baby! So I find myself in a place I haven't been in many years, the 290's. If you're in the same boat and want to join me I'll be checking in once a week or so. I don't have a weigh in day in mind yet to be official. I will be back on a low carb diet since it seems to be the thing that works best for me. And at some point I'll update my ticker.

No gagirl you're not alone. I'm at 296 myself but since it's been about three years since I've been below 300 I'll take it. Started December 26th of last year at 331 so I feel I have much to be grateful for. I've given up as much processed food as possible and enjoy a well rounded bounty of fresh edible delights. I've given up sweet tea except for one glass at dinner which seems to have really helped a lot. I excercise as much as I can...I love the endorphin rush it gives my brain....so much better than the mental boost from overeating. I think each person should do what works for them :). My goal is to be 275 by the opening football game for the Chattanooga mocs on Sept 6 and walk my first charity fun run in August...
So far this has been the best year I've had in quite a long time.

I am going to start posting in here to help me get out of 290s. I was 304 with work uniform so I am sure I am in the 90s some how. But I will post here until I am. No scale. Weigh in day is Tuesday. Can't wait first week back to calorie counting. And already I can tell when I wake up in the morning I can feel a emptiness in my stomach that I haven't felt in a while. I just have to post somewhere it keeps me accountable and helps with my weight loss. Very glad I start back getting healthy I feel such better already.

Weighed in at 274 today. It's been a good week. My daughter and I have started juicing. (I still eat what I normally do, just have added 1 litre of green juice per day.) I really feel a difference in my digestion and in my water retention.

I was 290 lbs last week and this week 295 lbs! I am starting fresh and determined to get into the 280s. It is so sad how it creeps up on you. I have to weigh often to keep an eye on my weight or it gets away from me. I have the most trouble drinking enough water. I used to drink diet drinks but I don't believe they are healthy so water it is.

291.4 today. The highest I have ever been. Very disappointed about that. But today is a new day. I have a new dr. and he wanted me to take belvique to help me lose weight so I took it this morning and am hoping that it helps me. Went to the store yesterday and loaded up with lots of fruits and veggies. For the first time in a long time I am looking forward to loosing weight.

Well, I was gung ho in July then fizzled again. Down 3lbs since then without doing anything. As my 9 year old just said while practicing a new skill "you have to start somewhere." I love it when my kids say such wise things!

I am so proud of all of you for starting and continuing to fight. It is a constant battle. I keep getting lost in all of the things I have to do and fail to plan my meals. Who knew grad school at my age while working full time and caring for a family would be so much work! Once again, another excuse to put my diet last when I would feel so much better if I made it a priority. I hate knowing what I need to do but not following through. Today I'll try to follow my son's advice.
