Evening all,
Been off to the dentist today. I thought he was going to take a mould of the teeth which will be extracted in 2 weeks, however that isn't the case and it seems that it may take upto 3 months for the implant to 'take' and grow bone around it and they won't do the mould until that has occured. Not happy about this but he said he could make up a temporary plate for me for a cool $600 but I declined. Nothing is cheap about dentistry.

So the dentist now has a whack of my money and the accountant is probably dining out on his lot today. Such is life. Doesn't happen often.

Tomorrow is the eye man. That will probably be the cheapest investment this week.

Miss Sunday is home. She just came in, decided to go back out again, went and sat in the sun for a while then sat on the bed. Last night she started out on the far side of the bed and as the night wore on, she moved closer and closer until I was getting the tail in the face treatment. No wonder I didn't sleep so well last night.

Up and at it this morning. I have hung all the orchids back under the tree again, dug part of the garden up and fertilised it. Will put some veges in there later in the week. The kitchen is cleared and cleaned. Just the floor to do in there. Next is the dining room. There is a big stack of magazines on the dining table which need going through. Most of them will go out, but on the off chance there is something I would like to cook or make, I'd better go through them. After that they are off to the doctors surgery or the dentist or somewhere.

Happy - hope you enjoyed the ride. Glad to hear that the weather is getting better at last. We are having some very cool nights at the moment and the north is about to get a cyclone later this week. Don't think we will see any of the rain but then one never knows.

Mel - Leaking in the closet?? Oh dear. Hope you get all those sorted soon otherwise the smells will start again. Knee is not too bad actually. The doc did say that since I strained the Medial ligament, it may take some time to heal. Well once in a while it clicks and gives out on me, but other than that it isn't too bad. Some days are better than others.

Ceejay - you and me both - not sleeping. PIA it is too, but worse for you as you have to go to work sleep deprived. I can at least have a snooze during the day.

Michelle - You are now in Nebraska. happy trails.

Laura - Lucky you having spring flowers. We can grow daffodils and jonquils up here but they only last a day or so. Nothing like the 'host of golden daffodils' you get down south or at home. Hyacinth and crocus don't do too well but we do get the monster bulbs like Hippeastrum and Nerines and lilies and the spring flowering trees like ornamental cherries. Mind you we get gerbera, heliotrope and roses all year round so we don't do too badly.

Annie - Sorry to hear that your dad is not well. Hope he comes good really soon. Lots fish on that trip. Mrs Hoggerdipper indeed!

Might be time to turn the telly onto Mr Holmes so he can make it right once more. Then with a bit of luck bed and sleep.
Catch you all tomorrow.

I am almost glad it's raining outside. the seniors will be quiet.
There were a lot of unhappy peole this weekend.
They just complain about anything & everything.
My standard answer is becoming...
We had a good day despite the whiners.
Nothing new here. Going down with the water leak report.
Someone really needs to address this.
Have a great day :encore:

Ceejay....just the thought of brown sugar makes me drool.
Sounds delicious. Just wondering is it made with beef or turkey???
Hope the storms didn't do too much to the system.
Candid and put some makeup on! LOL
Hope the tummy feels better. It's called nerves:hug:

Happy....hope the day was great and the weather held up!! very sorry to hear about Dad.
Praying for a speedy recovery
Wish the chit didn't have to hit the fan so soon after you got home:hug:
Hugs for both of you.

Shad....your Drs will all love the inflow of cash this month!
Sorry to hear the tooth will take so long.
Richie ended up with a partial plate.
Hope you are having a good night's sleep....sans the tail in the face.
Ahhhhh.....I remember those days well.
My old cat thought my hair was his bed!

Annie....i Just Saw All The Fish. Great Pic.
How Did You Get Them Home???

04-29-2013, 09:48 AM
Good Monday Morning....came into work and the coffee brewer doesn't work. soon as the mall doors open from the walkway bridge, I am heading to Starbucks.

Forgot to tell you that Miss Sassy Sue has become a C baby. She is now preferring C to me. I asked Samantha if Sass was Chris' best buddy all last week and she said OH YEAH. Not to mention little man buddying up to her. I think once we get back to our routine and I am the major person at home with her, she will come back to me. lol.

Will come back and fires here. sheesh

04-29-2013, 09:49 AM
I used 97% fat free ground beef. I'm not into the ground turkey.
Seniors complaining must be the result of the full moon this week.

Wow, that's a good catch! Did I see a tuna in there?

Ouch on the dentist bill. I need to make an appointment for a dental cleaning. I'm sure they'll find something in there that needs to be fixed. I've been lucky.

How was your adventure yesterday with the new ATV?

Hope work is as quiet as it was yesterday. However, I know the bosses will be up here shortly. Think I hear them now. More later.

04-29-2013, 11:13 AM
Ok back..

MELLIE....We did our deep sea fishing on Thursday..first mate filleted and bagged them for us. We kept them on ice until we got home....5 - one gallon bags of fish. It rained here all day yesterday, clearing off this morning then rain back in on Wednesday night. bleh., no tuna. The trigger fish look a lot like tuna. I think a lot of things go crazy during the full moon. YIKES... is this the start of dishing out all the money you made for doc appts, etc? Expensive next few weeks for you. Working in the yard gives me some peace, hopefully for you also.

Dad not doing good today...probably hospital run in site.

Hello to all you lovely ladies.

04-29-2013, 12:34 PM
Morning all.

Annie - Sorry to hear about your father. :( I sure hope he can avoid the hospital! Bleh on your rainy day yesterday. We had a very nice weekend up here. Woke up Sunday to see it had rained a wee bit, but it had stopped and eventually the clouds gave way to sun. Yes!! But our heavy clay soil is still not dry!! Awww, I'm sure Sassy will come back around to her momma. :D Hope you got your coffee fix by now!! :coffee2:

Mel - Sorry the building has got the leak problem. But I guess quiet seniors trumps the leak problem or you wouldn't be okay with more rain (and hence more leaks! :lol3: Bf had the roofing guy over last Friday and we need our two exhaust vents re-flashed - it seems the d*mn squirrels chewed away at the lead stuff that seals the space between the vent pipe and the roof opening. Roof guy said that's more likely the cause of the small amount of leaking we had rather than the skylight flashing...but he also said the skylight should be reflashed every 5 years or so anyway, so it's overdue. And he'll replace a few broken shingles. And the company also does chimney repairs, so he's going to quote us on that too. Mentally preparing for a woosh of $$$ out the door. But it's gotta be better than the cost of a new roof. (Roof guy said the roof looked just fine, whew!) Yes, I "got" your thoughts on the shows just fine, thanks for sharing them! I did catch a bit of the Midwife thing yesterday and that particular part was really dreary...if that's the norm, not up for it. And a show about a midwife isn't always going to be happy and light, is it??

Michelle - Saw on fb you made Lincoln, Nebraska on your first stretch of driving. Was gonna text you this morning, but I figured I better wait til the evening after the driving is done. Hope today's another good day of driving.

Ceejay - I'm not usually gaga over meatloaf, but that recipe with brown sugar sounds really good - is it in a glaze that goes on top?? Yum. :) Hope the dentist doesn't find anything expensive!!! Now that I think about it, it didn't seem like my dentist did the most thorough exam this time around (couple wks ago), or maybe I was just not paying attention. Anyway, I'm not having any problems, and he didn't find anything, so I'm good to go for another 6 months.

Shad - Sounds like you your woosh of $$$ started already. Bleh. $600 for something temporary?!?! :yikes: Had to look up the bulbs you mentioned - both types of amaryllis, which I'm familiar with. I've gotten them at Christmas, very nice - but of course they don't do well here and it's a major challenge to get them to bloom again after being forced for the holidays. Nice you get to enjoy them year round. :)

Happy - How was your Sunday? Did you get out on the new ATV?? Hope so, and hope you had a wonderful time. I so appreciated being outside, and it was fun to see doggy enjoying it too. :) :sunny: Thanks for the additional info on the trees. I don't like bees at all, so maybe the magnolia isn't for us...

Another nice day today, I'll have to get out at lunch perhaps. Yesterday was a bit cloudy for much of the day, but the sun broke through later in the afternoon.

Bf had trouble replacing the starter-rope on the mower, a repair he's done twice before. He ranted and insisted we get a new mower, blah, blah, blah. Then he continued with the ranting and working on it and I questioned why and he said, so we can sell it. Sigh. After he finally got it done, he came in and said "I bought two new ropes and I see we already had two that I bought last year, so now we have three new ones on hand for when it breaks again." I replied that we should give them to the person who buys the mower. And he said, oh, we'll keep it. I was just ticked off when I was in the middle of this and was having trouble. Oy. I sure wish I'd gotten in the car and left the house when he first brought the mower out!!

I didn't do a class yesterday because I ended up staying up late on Saturday night watching one MOTG epi and a Hallmark channel movie and woke up later than usual. And I was still pretty sore from Saturday's class. At least Coal & I took a good dogwalk yesterday. And I went up and down the basement stairs quite a bit while doing laundry and forgetting - multiple times - to get a new roll of paper towels from where we store them in the basement. Sigh.

I'd like to do an exercise class tonight, since I know I'm going to a movie tomorrow night. There's a new class called "Corebar" I want to try. Here's the description from the park's catalog: Employ the scientific principles of Metabolic Training, the combination of varying cardio intensities plus strength, balance, agility and muscle endurance conditioning exercises using the signature, weighted Corebar while you re-contour, redefine and reshape your muscles with particular focus on your core. Have Fun, Train Hard, and Get it Done! Oh brother, who wrote that? Anyway, I 've used the weighted bars in the past (they usually call them "body bars", so funny how they make it sound like something new...they sometimes change the name of the classes to generate new interest, LOL.

Okay, I keep getting interrupted by work, dang it. Better get back to it.

04-29-2013, 02:18 PM
Good morning all,

I am starting the day way behind. Really slept in late this morning, not sure why and I guess I overslept because after a big cup of coffee, I am still groggy. Didn't take anything to sleep, perhaps it was the fresh air yesterday. I told DH to wake me by 9 at the very latest from now on. Generally I've been waking at 7 or 8 lately so don't know what happened.

We had a really nice ride yesterday - wonderful weather. Believe it or not we still have quite a bit of snow in the area even after 4 days of warm weather. The trails were decent, DH hit one muddy spot and both of us got splashed up good. Told him he will have to go very slow. There are no sides to the UTV, just mesh so it's all open. The style will kick up some wetness which most of the time should not be a problem as it will be dry when we go out. They don't make fenders for this thing and neither of us like the half height optional doors so we'll just have to work with it. It was fun, way easier on the legs than sitting behind him on the ATV. We will have great fun with it I think. This weekend flew away, I got a few chores done, finished up and took the final exams for my 2 writing classes, made a few phone calls, sent out a few thank you notes, went to the casino for my birthday, watched a bit of tv and boom - it's Monday already. I have to get to the grocery store. Darned raccoon climbed the tree and broke my chickadee feeder so we have to go replace that. Tomorrow I get my hair done FINALLY. Was thinking about taking a ride up to the park and check out the falls today but my oversleeping killed that one. DH wants to put up the greenhouse - still I think about 2 more weeks before I put anything into it - we are supposed to dip back into daytime highs in the 40's on Wednesday for a few days and until the end of May, we will still hit overnight lows at or below freezing.

Michelle - you made good time getting to Nebraska, glad you are doing well with the truck and car towing. Godspeed to you!

Annie - I too was wondering how you got all that fish home. Did you fly or drive? Looks like you got a lot of tasty meals. Nothing like FRESH fish. Yum. Ain't it grand to be back at work and no coffee????? Sorry to hear that Miss Sassy has bonded to others. All our animals have decided that DH is their king, master and all time favorite person whereas I am the scullery maid. I'm sure she will accept you again when she figures out you are her only choice. ;)

Shad - apparently the implants are so involved that they take months and months - not like popping a tooth out or capping a crown. I take it that the candidates are in a more prominent spot in your mouth - hence the concern for the gap? Judging from what I've seen, you may not have the bulb flowers we do but you have some pretty spectacular flora of your own (or is it fauna???) I think I'd prefer your stuff. Miss Sunday apparently adapts easily to living in multiple homes?

Mel - if there's one thing worse than crabby seniors, it's crabby seniors and RAIN. Love your comment about the condos  Tell 'em like it is sister :lol3:

Ceejay - you have me interesting in meatloaf now. Better put that on the shopping list. I hope the boss visit will not be a hassle for you.

Laura - don't get magnolias if you don't like bees - in abundance - because you will get them, that's why DH chopped them down. Sounds like someone is getting prosy (perhaps they took a writing class ;) ) with the exercise write ups :D SOunds like a good workout though and if you are already familiar with it, you know what you're getting into. I think they have to come up with something new, the regular exercisers seem to get feisty if there isn't enough to make them happy - at least it seemed to me when I was going that a certain small group influenced the whole lot. Have fun!

I have to hurry up and make my grocery list and get ready - DH is waiting on me. He's outside being happy now chopping, raking and digging but that won't last for long. We're going to take a trip to the home improvement store and after that I will get groceries by myself.

Have a good day everyone.

Sad to report that dad is in the hospital...his vitals are good...bp, sugar, blood work, lungs, they cannot figure out why he is in so much pain with chest, breathing etc...I, yeah, being the qualified medical person, told them that he probably coughed so much his muscles, tendons, and anything that stretches was overused and he cannot stand the pain of it all. Who FN knows. Anyway, they are keeping him for observation, tests, etc for the next couple of days. If anything, it will give my bro/sil a little break.

OK....just stubbed my big MF-N toe on the throw rug, fell and hit my left FKN knee on the floor...OMG PAIN. This too, I shall overcome...what a clutz. SH*T. OW OW OW OWIE! Got to get it together as I am grilling out for dinner before C comes home. Never admitting how badly it hurts to him. haha. Might be a long night. F*CKITY, F*CKITY F*CKITY.

04-29-2013, 06:33 PM
The bosses didn't take any time. My major boss put the filter back on line but I'm having to run it manually by pushing some up and down buttons. I have to pay a bit more attention to that today but it's not to bad. At least I'm not going down stairs and maneuvering that valve manually.

I'll post the recipe when I get home. It's super easy.

I'm liking FB more and more each day. I've been in contact with 2 classmates this week alone. Both were best friends, one male and one female. We were a close nit group.

04-29-2013, 06:35 PM
You are probably right concerning your dad. So sorry to hear that he's in the hospital.
Hope you knee feels better soon.

04-29-2013, 07:27 PM
Oh Annie sorry about your Dad - you might be right about the coughing. Hope he will be ok. Even more sorry about the hop skip jump bump toe knee ouchie kabouchie. Hey, maybe you will be up for a Toe Knee (Tony) award for best leap across the room and most colorful acceptance speech  sorry I don't mean to laugh - been there, cursed a blue streak, rubbed it like crazy and cursed myself for being clumsy. So I was just rerunning the scene in my mind. Hope you feel better by dinner time.

I did alot of running around - spent the day trying to catch up from behind. Tomorrow the alarm clock gets set. I didn't make it to the grocery store - will try again after I get my hair done tomorrow. I am in the mood for something light, fresh and healthy but am out of all the fresh stuff, so tonight it looks like hot dogs and beans for dinner. It's nice outside today, maybe we can sit around the firepit and eat outside. Nah... then we'd have to fight off the deer, turkeys and raccoons. We did have a Subway sandwich lunch on the deck today (I made all healthy choices) and it was really good.

Ceejay - it's nice that you were able to catch up with friends on Facebook. Most days I wonder why I'm on there any more.

Howdy to the rest of the chicks.

04-30-2013, 06:01 AM
Eyes today. Probably the cheapest of the lot since it involved handing over my national medicare card and them sliding it through the machine. Payment done. Of course I will have to pay for the contacts when they come, but since I am mean, I make each one last for twice as long as they are meant to.

Then I got the yard broom and swept away the leaves and debris from the paths and driveway and I also fertilised, watered and planted out the small garden with some gerberas and some heliotrope. Whether the heliotrope will survive or not is debatable but if you never try, you never find out - right?

Annie - I hope your dad is okay. It is quite possibly the coughing causing the pain. He could end up with fantastic abs

Mel - sounds like the local population has cabin fever

Michelle - pleased to hear that you have reached WY - getting there

Laura - BF sounds like a typical male. Your shed sounds like mine. One of these days I am going to clean it out and find all the duplications.

Ceejay - had meatloaf for dinner tonight. Your comment gave me the hint for the minced pork I had in the fridge.

Happy - sounds like you had a good time with the toy. I think you will get more use out of that than a boat, but then who am I to talk.

Not much else to report. Time to get comfortable and veg on the couch - after I have shined the sink and wiped down the counter tops.

04-30-2013, 09:09 AM

Sorry Gals. Quick post. Duty calls.
Yesterday was uneventful. Good right???
Not even Jen stirred.
Have a great day.

Shad.....your energy is overflowing!!
Getting a lot done in a short time. Hope the plants survive! they sell something like mudguards to go over the mesh??
Maybe you can make something out of a heavy rubber?
Glad you guys got out. Hope the snow leaves soon.
Love the greenhouse idea. Hope we get a pic???

Annie...I am so very sorry about Dad but not surprised.
Sending you both hugs  Will be thinking of him.
An IV with meds would be faster . Good luck.

Ceejay...How nice to find friends on FB.
Hope you all have a good time remembering the good old days!!
also glad the job wasn't too bad.
I love beef meatloaves the best too. Turkey just doeasn't do it for me either.

Laura....OMG I laughed outloud at the BF and the mower.
How funny & typical. ROFLMAO TOO FUNNY>
It amazes me that squirrels do so much damage.
I remember my Gram feeding them thru a 2nd floor window.
They would sit on the roof of a porch below.
Well...come winter they decided to nest in the attic to be close to Gram!!
Needless to say the landlord threw a fit trying to get rid of them. LOLOLOL

04-30-2013, 10:07 AM
Nothing new to report. Still operating the filter by pushing the up and down buttons. Still waiting for a part to come in.
My next door neighbor texted me this morning asking for a ride for her son to get to work. Told her I didn't have the time. When will people learn.

I have duplicates of some things also.

Glad your day was quiet. Mine was too for a work day.

Think I'll wait till I get back from MO to call the dentist for a cleaning. Hopefully he will not find any thing.

I'll post the meatloaf recipe later on. I forgot it last night. I have several things to do when I get home and that takes up most of my time before bed. I did ride the bike for 15 minutes and did my own upper body work out for 10 minutes.

04-30-2013, 11:40 AM
Morning girls,

Tomorrow is May Day. (Yup, still April on Shad's side of the sun). Any suggestions for new titles? MAYbe we'll be good MAYbe we won't? Start out with such good intentions and then...

Going today to get my hair done at long last. Lots of shiny white stuff poking through my head. It's actually a pretty color - if it didn't make my already thin hair look bald, I might consider keeping it au natural. Wait, no I wouldn't. I would be shocked to see myself looking like Paula Deen who I don't particularly care for anyway  After that it's off to the grocery store to dump a sizeable wad as I am fresh out of everything fresh here. Giving the Weight Watchers plan a go of it again although I do find counting points tedious as well as thinking I've eating healthy all day and find I only have 2 points left for dinner and forget about those 2 snacks.

Ceejay - when you are working, the time after work seems to fly by doubly fast.

Looks like Michelle's timing was perfect. They are predicting another big snow storm in the central part of the county mid week. 8 to 12 inches of snow around the Denver area. I think she was supposed to have decent weather all the way through.

Mel - the don't make anything to cover the wheels on the UTV. DH said that if they did it would extend the width of the buggy and then it would be an illegal size for the trails. The trails are cut to a certain width and with the advent of the side by sides like we have, they have to widen the trails even more now. So our only option is doors which are expensive and will only fix the problem about 50 percent. I think they'd also make it even more awkward to get into the machine too which would be easier for me if I was 7 inches taller  I will post a picture of the greenhouse once we get it set up. We picked up some plant stands yesterday which will allow me to plant my flowers in pots and keep them off the wooden deck so that excess water does not rot the boards. So butterflies and hummingbirds get ready. I won't have as many pots as last year so have to choose carefully. Glad the seniors settled down and the day was quiet for you. How goes the TJ eating plan? Are you doing ok with it?

Shad - I can see the desire to extend the life of the contact lens however, eyes are something I don't mess with. Getting an eye infection isn't worth saving a few bucks to me - perhaps I am paranoid about that particular thing, perhaps seeing my dad with a horrid eye infection just scared me for life. Which is why I guess I only did contacts once in my life and never more  Sounds like you made some really good headway on the garden outside. Hope your plants make it through. And yes, I'm sure you are quite right that we will get more use out of the UTV than a boat. I think DH was feeling that everyone fishes and hunts up this way and since he's not a hunter, perhaps he should join in on the fishing end of things. But even he said it was an expensive investment - just the fishing stuff alone and he wasn't sure he'd do it enough to make it worthwhile. Particularly if it turned out I wasn't that fond of it either although I'm sure there are times he wouldn't mind getting in a quiet boat in the middle of a lake far, far from me. ;)

Annie - how is Dad doing? I'm sure the combination of coughing and spring schmutz can do a number on the chest. Did you distribute all your fish? How's the toe doing? Wear flats for a day as to not put pressure on it.

Laura, I'm sure you are typing over my head at the moment. I will catch up with you when you post.

Ok, gotta go make up my grocery list and get ready. Talk to you later.

04-30-2013, 11:59 AM
Morning all. Just a quick hello, have a lot to get to, so I can't ramble on as usual. WW today, so not sure I'll get back here at lunch time, since the weigh-in and meeting takes up most of it.

Went to the Corebar class last night and wouldn't you know it, there was a different bar than the weighted body bars!! :D Didn't care all that much for the bar or the class. The way the bar is held isn't good for my injured shoulder.

Rode my bike to the train for the first time this year.

Going to see the movie "The Place Beyond the Pines" tonight.

Okay, back to work. The admin just pointed out that the boss (in her new-ish office location) now passes our way whenever she leaves the area and she thinks we're being watched. Not sure if that's true, but there was a meeting on the boss's calendar with her boss called "Transition". I'd sure like to know what the transition will bring.

04-30-2013, 01:47 PM
Afternoon ladies....

HAPPY...I about spit my water out reading the description of my flight through the living room. If it us an ungraceful "toe knee" I am sure to win. haha. Toe is not so bad, but boy does my knee hurt. Weeeeeeeeeeeeee. Thanks for asking about dad...they still do not know what is wrong with him, plus the fact he is the biggest baby ever. Zero tolerance for pain. I like the MAYbe title, sounds good MAYbe we oughtta~ba haha That is why I bleach my hair blonde as it comes in white on the sides. Bleh.

LAURA...hope the WI went great! The Place Beyond the Pines sounds scary, I don't do scary. We did rent the Jamie Fox movie, can't think the name of it tho. We liked it.

CEEG...don't wear out your fingers pushing the buttons..haha. Soon the neighbors will learn and quit asking. Just takes several "no" answers before they get it. on the quiet day yesterday, let's shoot for two in a row. How are you feeling? sound like a busy beaver building a dam.

That is about it for me....later kiddos

04-30-2013, 03:10 PM
My working hours are from 7 a.m. till 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and every other Sunday. That only gives me 3 hours to unwind and get things ready for the next day. This will be my four day week end.

Talk about not wanting to work I don't. But I need the dollars so I'm here.

04-30-2013, 04:54 PM
Afternoon everyone. This site is being difficult today!!

Annie - Sorry your dad ended up in the hospital. I hope they figure out what the problem is, and that he's feeling better now. Ouch re the fall and the hurting toe and knee. :( Was it D'jango that you saw? I'll let you know about that Pines movie. Bf saw it and I think he called it a crime thriller...

Ceejay - Those are long workdays, but I'm thinking those long weekends might make it worth those long days. :) Hope the part comes in and you get a chance to rest your finger! :D

Happy - Good MAYbe title. :D Are you going to do the ww plan informally on your own, or do it online or meetings or what? Would you believe I'm still tracking both points and calories?! I get annoyed with the points, and sometimes I just want to know the calories because I naively still want to believe it's all simply about calories in vs. calories out, lol. Hope your hair turns out the way you want it to and that you had a good shopping trip. Re the ATV mudspray issue, I say you and dh just need to purchase matching coveralls, LOL. Living in a ranch home, we only have the patio, and I have to say I enjoy not having a deck to worry about - all the maintenance, preventive and otherwise...bleh.

Mel - Hope it stays quiet by you. :ssh:

Shad - Hope the eye doc appt wasn't too expensive. I try to get a couple extra wearings out of my contact lenses, but these days it doesn't really happen. The lenses just aren't as comfortable as they used to be. I don't know if it's looking at the computer screen all day, or maybe the solution I use causes this. I used to wear my lenses all day up to bedtime, but now I sometimes take them off shortly after I get home. And now I can really tell when day 14-15 comes around - they are ready to be pitched. I'm due soon for an eye exam, so I might ask the doc what can be done. But I've found them to be very wishy-washy about which solutions are better than others. Of course they probably have no idea - both my former & current docs both wear glasses!

Lost 0.8 pounds at weigh-in today. :carrot: Tomorrow is the final weigh-in of the weight loss contest here at work. And in the afternoon the entire finance group is having a celebration for the winners and for the end of a good quarter.

Well, once again I've rambled on longer than intended and I can't blame it all on interruptions...

Yes LAURA it was Django.

Shuweeee....just finished cutting the toe hurt so badly that I took off my tennis and cut barefooted...a big no no in my books, but couldn't help it. The grass was soooooo tall after two weeks and lots of rain....Sassy is happy. Grilling boogies out tonight. YUM. Probably taters also. C won't be home till 7 pm, but gets to go fishing tomorrow with his brother. I am posting this as this site just freaked me out.

You must have broken your toe for it to be that painful. My lawn was cut yesterday but no weed eating done. Talked to my boss about his son mowing next week.

Sorry that Jen is having troubles too. Life is hard some times.

Fire stations down the road are testing it's sirene's this morning. I should be used to that cause they do it each morning but yet it still startles me. Think the tornado sirene is what caught me off guard.

Morning all. Another very warm, sunny day today. :sunny: I better enjoy it, it's going to cool off and turn rainy just in time for the weekend.

Ceejay - In our previous office building, we could hear the monthly test of the siren, but in this one, nope.

Mel - Poor Jen, it is a difficult time for her. :( Nice she's got her mom by her side to support her. Hope things stay quiet in the building today and don't interrupt your down time!!

Annie - I agree with Ceejay - your toe might be broken. If it doesn't start feeling better very soon, please get it checked out. I don't think they normally do anything for broken toes unless there's a concern the bone won't heal right, so maybe they just tape it to a neighboring toe. I hope Sassy appreciates the danger you faced mowing the lawn for her!! Yummm, burgers on the grill!!

Hellos to the rest of the Worldlies today.

BTW - I texted a hello to Michelle this morning and she asked that I post that she's doing well and about a day and a half from arriving at her step mom's house. :)

Okay, another weigh-in today and so another morning without breakfast. And while I'm whining, the herbal lemon tea I'm drinking today tastes "different". And not in a good way.

On the bright side, the weigh in is at 11:00 am, so I won't have to starve for long. I have a couple errands to run at lunch time, so I'm glad not to be cooped up inside today.

The movie "The Place Beyond the Pines" was pretty good. I do have to say though, that there are three pretty distinct parts to it and I liked the first one (with Ryan Gosling) the best and the other two "just okay" and they sort of dragged for me. Annie - it wasn't scary throughout (it's not a horror movie), just a couple parts. I wouldn't race to the theater, unless maybe you really like Ryan Gosling, lol.

And so when I wrote "maybe" it made me thing about Maybe and that today is May Day. Happy May Day everyone. :) :flow1:

Bf is buying a new cell phone tonoght and he told me there's a deal with buying a tablet for relatively low price when you buy the phone. might have to buy a data plan for the tablet as part of the deal. Bf just wants to use the tablet with a wifi connection only, so maybe the tablet is a no-go.

Okay, enough rambling, time to get down to biz.

May Day it is indeed. Time to change up the thread. Go to the new one and stop posting here.
