watch out for the tricksters today!!

I was awake at 4:30 and couldn't get back to sleep but I enjoy the quiet of the mornings. The kitchen is a mess, but I couldn't care much less right now. It will be there hours from now

Nancy, you'll conquer that sorting struggle yet! And, that little boy is a joy, full of stories and lots of talk. His mom is one of the people who resigned from the board, along with me and 5 others.

Hellooooooo. I'm here and am back on program. Now I need to stay in both places.

Rhonda, let us know what you find out at the podiatrist's.

Curtis took me to the doctor this morning to get my 2nd month's serum for my allergy shots. He's outside riding the mower now. It's a beautiful spring day.

Tejas

Maybe good news. The 2 docs agree that the problem is the sesmoids and we're going to try orthotics first. I got new ones and so far, it's much better. It hurts from all the manipulation of it this morning, but the pressure relief was immediate.

I'll be OP tomorrow; I hear it's another day

It's a beautiful day here and the rain starts tonight I hear---for 2-3 days they say.

Rhonda..hoping your weather isn't severe today..

Ooops...I messed up my good eating streak with :jeno: last night & hashbrowns this morning...My son & grandson were here ..back on track today..

Last night our power was off along with 2 neighbors on our little road.
We did pizza by candlelight and played board games ...
This super nice power company worker kept letting us know the status
as they worked for hours in front of our house on the transformer box..
About midnight he told me that my neighbor had yelled at him because
their power kept flickering on & off as they worked and he thought they should warn him each time..How embarrassing to have neighbors like that..I told him they were like heroes to me to be out that late working hard at something dangerous to get our power back on..

Son, grandson , myself, cat & dog all camped out in the living room last night ..I love doing that..The kids went fishing a few minutes ago and I stayed home to clean up .
I usually go with them but thought they could use some time alone..

Sandra ..Feel better !!!!:)

I decided that I am going to make ahead more lunches to freeze. I already do Vegetable Soup, Vegetable lasagna & Diet Coke Sloppy Joes..

If I can do a protein shake or eggs for breakfast and a homemade frozen
entree for lunch then I think dinner will be easier because I am more motivated to cook something healthy at night.

Do you guys have any recipes that are low carb & wheat free..I can find
some online I think..Maybe a vegetable chili ??

My nephew & grandson helped me all day with burn piles and yard work..
We are all exhausted.. My nephew decided to spend spring break at my house to help me !!

I don't know if I mentioned it but my 20 year old nephew decided to spend
his spring break with me and help in the yard & my grandson has been here almost his whole spring break..So I am loving having boys around like old times !! Today after working on the yard & pool we grilled steaks and then watched Anaconda..My grandson will probably have snake dreams ;)
It was one of his first horror movies, but I think he was ready..

I am maintaining my 143 by just eating healthy right now. If I can keep that up I will try for losing 5 more pounds in a few weeks..

We're going to church in a few minutes. The plan is for us to sit in the foyer. I don't feel like being in a crowd because of my coughing. Plus, I still don't feel 100%. Well, I am no longer weak. We did sit in the foyer today. It was like being backstage. After church we went to lunch. I am feeling better all the time. I think I have finally licked this. I still think I had walking pneumonia. I was sick a solid week and it wasn't allergies. That's unusual for me. It's almost always allergies.

Okay, enough whining about being sick. Now I'll whine because I again feel fat. Now would ya'll know me if I stopped whining?

Nancy, you're doing great.

great news Nancy...wish I could say that.

Sandra, glad you feel better.

I went to the podiatrist again today--the one who did my surgery. He did a little work on the orthotic that the other one gave me last week and here's the plan---I am going to take a prescription anti-inflammatory for 10 days if it doesn't hurt my gut...stay off my foot as much as possible and wear only the orthotic and hiking boots until the 17th..then I try to push my foot a bit and see what happens---go back on the 22nd.

I am soooo bored with this...pass the cheese!

I'm enjoying a noon snack of edam cheese, gluten-free crackers, a pear and an ounce of dark chocolate. Tasty.

The realtor said that houses are selling really fast right now because of extremely low inventory..My house is supposed to list tomorrow..
I still have some finishing touches tomorrow , but its basically done.
If I had an immediate showing it would be good enough to show..

Also, I found an adorable apartment complex that I really like, so if I do sell fast I may end up there..

The podiatrist prescribed Moloxicam (Mobid) and it is almost a wonder drug. I hardly hurt anywhere and the swelling is down on my foot. Too bad I can't take it forever.

Sandra, how is Curtis's pain and function?

I went with DH to a retiree luncheon today and didn't really have much fun. The other time I went we sat at a table with a lot of women and they were chatty--this time we sat with a bunch of socially awkward old guys  I think I'll skip the August one.

There has been some rain, but no storms and no hail. That's good.

Good luck, Sloan and Nancy. :jeno: would be good, don't you think?

ontarget
04-10-2013, 09:40 PM
Rhonda, I take Meloxicam daily, so does Curtis. It is a wonder drug. My plan is to take it as long as possible.

Curtis is doing much much better. He set his mind to the fact that he will not have further surgery and he's been faithfully working his PT. He's still not shooting a bow but is hoping to be able to do so soon. He may even be able to go back to shooting right handed.

Long story short--he is better now than he was prior to July's surgery. That's a huge plus.

I don't think anyone wants to race me. It would be too easy. I'm tired of eating yet I keep on and on and on. We have two family reunions coming up shortly. Don't know if that will be an incentive since my school reunion wasn't. Life goes on.

Oh my! I get the prize? This is unusual. Where is everyone?

We're heading out in a few minutes to take the weedeater to the weedeater doctor then we're off to Half Price Books. I have several I'm going to add to their collection. I will go to WW late this afternoon. I normally went to the morning class. This will be different. Should be good, though, as I'll be with a lot of teachers coming from school. Downside is I'll weigh more than in the mornings. Life goes on. (And I'm excited!!)
