Edit 15 April: Another slow month, so I'll take a new low weight of 191, though 189 would be nice so I can get out of the 190s :)

Ended the month full of ibuprofen and water weight at 194, that always seems to drop off after a few days, and as I got a recent low weight of 189 and out of the 190s I'm (frustratedly...) happy with that :)

May 4, 2011 At my Endo appointment, the Dr. tells me to work on maintenance. My maintenance range is 145-150.

December 2011: Went on Vacation. Went 5 pounds above my maintenance range during vacation.
January 2012: Still had to deal with gain from Christmas vacation and allergic reaction. By the middle of the month, things were getting under control. Went 3.6 pounds above my maintenance range.
February 2012: Stayed within my maintenance range. Did not go above. Still dealing with an allergic reaction.
March 2012: Stayed within my maintenance range.
April 2012: Stayed within my maintenance range.
May 2012: Stayed within my maintenance range.

July 2012: 4th of July/Birthday - Went a little above my maintenance range.
August 2012: Angio Edema diagnosis/shingles - went above my maintenance range
September 2012: Still struggled with the Angio Edema and medicine for it. Above my maintenance range.
October 2012: Got into my maintenance range. Weight went back up at the end of the month due to the fair and DH's Birthday
November 2012: Above my maintenance range, but still working on things.
December 2012: Above my maintenance range. Went on a cruise.
January 2013: January 1 weight: 164 January 31 weight: 158.6 Above my maintenance range. Thyroid meds still off. Have been since the Summer, but getting better, as per Endo. Lowest weight in January 157.8.
February 2013: February 1 weight: 159.2 February 28 weight: 159.6 I was above my maintenance range throughout the month. Still working on things with the angio edema. I'm still having flare ups but I "feel" like things are getting better.
March 2013: I started March 1 at 160 on March 31 I weighed in at 159.4. I basically maintained for the month. I am not happy about that but it is better than a gain. Lowest weight in March was 157.2. Still working toward 150.
April 2013: I started April 1 at 161 on April 31 I weighed in at 158.2. I had a loss of 2.8 pounds. I feel that I have continued to maintain since my weight has been up and down all month and I have not gotten down to this year's low of 157.2 in March. Still working toward 150. I started taking the antihistamine twice a day this month. I had a 2+ pound gain overnight at the beginning of the month and woke to my left eye being almost swollen shut. I feel better since starting back to taking the antihistamine twice a day.

Okay, so I said last week that I wasn't going to be doing a daily weigh-in thread for April, because I'm doing a muscle-building workout program for the next month and that will affect my weight loss. However, I have decided that I will still go ahead and weigh every day...unless, of course, it becomes too much of a stress for me. What I'm going to do is coincide my weekly weigh-in days from my Spring Into Summer challenge as my "official" weigh-ins and try not to sweat the rest of the week's results as much. I'm not sure what to expect weight-wise for April, but I will also be keeping track of my measurements/inches lost, as well...we'll see how it goes! :crossed:

My scale has gone up 4 pounds in the last three days. I promise you that I have not eaten an additional 14,000 calories in the last three days. ;)

I was so bummed to see that 215.4 on the scale. My mood today is a bit dampened. Not sure if it is from TOM or the scale. If I saw 209 on the scale this morning, would I be dancing around thinking the day was grande?

I do actually get officially weighed twice a week (kinda makes me sound like a zoo animal of some sort.)

:) Yeah- I've lost 30 real pounds.
If you look above in the thread with the sparkly scale and elephant picture...it explains it a bit.
The scale has really been messing with my head- so I wanted to try a little experiment.

I weigh in officially on Tuesday and Saturdays. I will record these numbers here, but in between- I am going to record what I THINK the scale should be saying. I'm hoping it's a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy- or maybe something like this picture I found:

Good morning, Everyone. I've been having a really difficult time getting on-plan this week. I've been letting work and family stress get the best of me. Yesterday, I decided that I'm trying to make this too complicated for myself. The thought of trying to cook healthy meals, keep them within my calorie count, not eat to many carbs, no sugar, eat more veggies, exercise everyday, drink my water, avoid the diet soda, etc, etc, etc.....it was just too much to take on at once! So, I went to the store yesterday and picked up easy stuff. Frozen meals, cottage cheese with fruit, cheese and crackers. My #1 goal right now is just to stay at 1800 calories a day. I'll tackle one thing at a time.

Hi Rhonda :wave: Welcome back! It's good to see you again. I think this is a great plan! Sometimes it's just too hard to change everything at once. Start with a simple plan and tweak things as you go along. You can do it.

That's a wonderful idea! I did the same for myself (and still do!) with baby steps. The steps all add up.

Weigh-in today was 258.4. Not much else to report other than the fact I overdid the workouts yesterday and am feeling super sore, lol. Will be hitting the water hard today to help muscle repair.

GirlyGirlSebas: That's what I've been having to do, as well. Right now, I'm relying on a lot of prepackaged stuff while I learn more about macros while cooking. It's been a slow process for me, lol, but it's helping me stay on plan while I discover more ways to start moving away from as much processed foods. One thing at a time is healthier than getting frustrated and giving up!

My weight has been going down and then coming back up again for over a week now. I'm trying not to be concerned about it because I've stayed under my calorie goal, TOM came on Wednesday, and I've started more intense workouts. I've definitely noticed that I look and feel stronger. My loose skin has tightened up some, so maybe this holding pattern is a good thing for now.

immaculate - When I start a new workout I always stall or gain for a few days until my muscles build and get used to the extra work. Muscles hold quite a bit of water when they are repairing, also you may be building new muscle.

I am also starting new workouts right now. So I expect to stall several days a week for a few weeks.

I checked my weight when I first got up this morning, and it was a full 1.5 lbs up from before I went to bed last night...how is that even possible?? Ugh. So, I waited a couple hours since I usually don't eat until around 1, and I finally got something that seemed more accurate...so, weigh-in was 257.6 after waiting a little bit. Has anyone else experienced weighing more after getting a full night's sleep than you were the night before after eating dinner? I usually weigh between 2-4 lbs less in the morning after my food is able to process, but that wasn't the case today...which I found very odd. Any ideas?

merilung: It has felt like a very slow week for me, but I have to keep reminding myself that I should feel lucky whenever I'm able to consistently get at least 2 lbs off each week. (Not every week can be a 5-6 lb week after the first month, and I have to remind myself that this isn't a race, no matter how impatient I may get...lol.) Thank you for helping me keep my perspective! :hug:

TOM is due today, I'm pretty sure. I was sitting in the tub last night, thinking of all the NSV's everyone has been experiencing and the biggie is always, "I can sit in the tub and my sides don't touch", and then it got me thinking about how weight distributes on everyone so very differently. My sides still touch. Not much, more of a brushing the sides than the wedged in there touching. I started to get a little jealous then I wondered if my scale batteries were bad. Then I realized, yanno, my biggest weight area is around my hips, from my navel to the tops of my thighs is just this slab of fat. Everything else is more normally sized. It would be nice if it were distributed to my butt too, but alas, I have no booty. I just celebrate my kick *** legs and the heels its easier to rock, and keep plugging away!

Doing pretty good so far. I'm down to 1 soda a day. I'm going to start exercising on Tuesday. :)

cutting out soda is really good. i have it on occasion (like if i go out to eat with family, which doesn't happen often) and it is SO high-calorie! but i feel better when i DON'T drink soda. i didn't take in a ton of sugar so there's no crash, and thats an extra like 300 calories of food i could be eating. i wish you lots of good luck in your endevours! and exercising is easier in the spring and summer, just hop on your bike and ride around the block a couple times :D

Quick Update: I ate a little of my workout calories back last night, and I almost doubled my sodium intake for the day, so I was expecting a gain, but it ended up stalling me out instead. So, I'll take it. Lesson learned! Weigh-in was 257.6 again.

Thanks! I'm restricted to walking for now and doing back exercises. I have 2 herniated discs in my lower back so I have to watch what I do. I'm hoping by losing a lot of weight it will help with the pain and I'll be able to do more. I would like to be able to play basketball again.
i have scoliosis, so it's not as painful as a herniated disc but i do understand back pain. i also have severe sciatic pain when i was pregnant. i personally like to ride my bike, it works out my legs and burns calories and raises your heart rate but you're sitting, so your back is fine.

April is being really good to most of us!! Nice losses ladies and gents!! I spent the weekend walking and bike riding. If you do our neighborhood in a figure 8, its a mile. I don't know how many times we've lapped this place, but apparently it was enough!! The 2teens just seemed to fly by, minus that 215 hang out party. Onward and downward!! Aiming for Onederland by Memorial Day.

Charliee even at my most fit, I've never had a butt. Nobody on either side of my family does. I'm also built like my dads side of the family, slim hipped, wide shoulders. When I'm at a decent weight I truly look like a guy from behind, if I'm not careful with how I dress.

Alyssa and Crow - It's true that babies are worth the weight gain! 3 babies in 3.5 years has done a number on me though; I'm 80 lbs over my #1 PPW. :O My first mini goal is to get to my #3 PPW, 245. I never thought 245 would be a goal weight for me, lol! We do want to have one more, so I'm going to work like crazy to lose weight until we decide it's the right time and just go with the flow. :)

I was surprised by my weigh ins the last couple of days. We had friends over on Saturday and I partook in many, many cocktails. I expected a significant jump up. :shrug: I won't complain though.

Hi Friends. Today is my official weigh-in day. Lost 3.8 for the week. At first, I was very disappointed as the first week's loss is usually much more. Then, I remembered. I didn't get on-plan until Thursday! I really need to learn to give myself a break and be kind. LOL

Weigh-in was 256.6, so I think I got the excess sodium flushed out...whew! I also took a rest day from all workouts yesterday, so I think that may have calmed my body down a bit, as well. I pulled a muscle in my shoulder, and both my shoulder and my neck have been very stiff and sore, so it was nice taking a day off. I'll be back to the 30DS this afternoon, but I'll probably take it a little easy today. Hope I can still get a decent workout!

Crow: I am definitely not in the zone right now! Haha. However, I've been doing my best to stick with my workouts, even when the scale doesn't move, and I have been religious about getting enough water every day, so I think that's helping me keep moving on days like today. Fingers crossed that I'll get a few more friendly days on the scale this week, lol. :crossed:

rodeogirl: I agree with Crow...I get excited about a new decade, but I can't imagine how exciting it will be to finally hit a new century..."Tooter-ville" (heh) is most definitely right around the corner! ;)

Okay, so I don't usually weigh the very first thing in the morning. Instead, I usually weigh-in right before I eat breakfast instead to give my body a little time to move around and "settle". However, it was such a busy day today that I didn't get a chance to eat until after 5pm! Therefore, I didn't get to weigh myself until later this afternoon...so, I don't know if any of this is a lack of hydration, but my weigh-in was 255.8 today. We'll see what happens when I have a less hectic day tomorrow, lol.

While it may have been dehydration yesterday, I was still at 255.8 today...so, it just balanced each other out, it seems! Today is my official weigh-in day for the week, so I'm happy I was able to keep my weight from yesterday instead of going back up. :yes:

GGS: Every time I start getting spotty with my tracking, my weight seems to creep up, too! I have to make sure to stay on top of it as much as I can.

Alyssa: I agree that you're probably building muscle in the fat's place, so I think taking pictures more often is a good idea! That and a measuring tape will be better indicators of progress than the scale right now.

Angihas: Yet again, great progress...you'll be in "Onederland" soon! :)

thanks! and yes it does. i binged on probably 600 calories worth of saltines (i need to add it to yesterday's food log still) and since salt stores water weight i thought i would have gone up at least .5 pounds haha i was just craving some salty food hardcore and once i started eating them i couldn't stop xP and today im having pizza and reeses cups xD but i'm gonna make sure they fit within my daily calories, i don't wanna go over by more than 100 in the next 6 days. i try to only have one "cheat" day per week so i'm definitely counting yesterday as one!!

I just realized that my weigh in today brought me down to a BMI of 34.6 - I'm class I obese now, instead of class II! I've lost 5 whole BMI points so far - once I do that again, I'll no longer be obese at all! Woohoo!

I'm pretty much brand new here. My starting weight, as of the April 18th, was 296 lbs. My long term goal is 150 lbs. My short term goal is 20 pounds (so 276 lbs) by May 30 (I'm aiming for larger losses in early months because I think they're doable in a healthy way--as I get closer to goal, my monthly goals will be smaller pound-wise. :))

Daily weigh in record, jumping in late to April. :carrot:

I am unsure why I went up a lb over night. ? Will try not to worry unless it becomes a trend. And on that note, do you all find it helpful to weigh in daily or discouraging? I'm a bit worried that if I'm up a bit I'll feel down about it all day--that perhaps a weekly weigh in would be better for me because it would show more a steady trend, less of the normal body fluctuations . . . But then again, weighing daily will remind me to try hard to stay on track every day instead of falling for the tempting lie: "Well, I'll have the rest of the week to make up for this binge."

Thanks for any thoughts on this . . .

p.s. If we're not supposed to post questions/comments in this daily weigh in thread, please let me know. I'm new here and haven't figured out all the rules/preferences about posting. :)

Welcome EvieBaby, of course you can post questions/comments in this thread, it's normally a little more active then it is this month, but it's definitely a good place to check in if that will help keep you on track.

I weigh everyday, because it helps me focus on my goals daily, but I know that seeing the up and down can really get to some people, so maybe try it for a couple of weeks and then make the call. If weighing in weekly is better for you, you can totally still post in this thread and just update when you weigh in.

There are so many reasons you can be up a pound overnight so I wouldn't worry about it if your keeping everything else on track.

There are a few really great apps that you can use that will chart your weight loss into graphs so you can see your patterns. You can see some suggestions in this thread here http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/100-lb-club/279229-im-having-affair-my-scale.html

Just posting end of week results really quick. Had a couple skip days right here at the end of the week, with a splurge meal at an awesome Mexican restaurant last night, so I wasn't sure what to expect today. Weigh-in ended up being 251.8. I know I am bloated from all the sodium in my enchiladas yesterday, so I probably would have been lower, but I'm happy I didn't see a gain. I think the fact that we walked for over 4 hours at the Riverwalk yesterday was my saving grace from the calories...lol.

If I was actually moving _down_, I think my self-control wouldn't feel so pointless. Meh! But also . . . I am feeling really good, so that's a boost.

April has been a slow month when it comes to weight loss. But I feel SO much healthier than last month. My clothes are looser and I'm walking a few days a week. I know that mathematically as long as my calories consumed are less than calories burned then I have to be burning fat.

I'm still hoping for a whoosh before the end of the month but even though the pounds haven't changed significantly I'm getting ready to call April a success. :)

Yes, I am excited. The scale is moving. I've lost 8 lbs since I started on the 20th of this month. And I'm feeling better, a lot more energetic. And . . . I've only been really grouchy one evening. :)

I am feeling really excited about May, guys, thanks to you all. Checking in and reading your successes and encouragements really helped me stay on track.

I'm feeling particularly motivated this weekend because it's my birthday next week and most of the celebrations involve restaurants . . . I'll try to be disciplined but as discipline is not my forte (at all, lol), I'm hoping to have a loss this weekend to help me not blow my goal for May before it starts. :)

I had wanted to be down from 296 (April 20 starting weight) to 290 for May 1st . . . but I'm already down to 288.6 which will make my goal of 270 for the end of May way more achievable. Yay! (I know 20lbs loss is a hefty goal for one month, but I figure I can do it safely because I have such a high weight now . . . as I move down, my goals will become smaller lb-wise per month.)

It stuck! Weigh-in today was 248.6. My husband had mentioned wanting to go to our favorite Mexican restaurant again this weekend, and I told him no thank you. It was hard, because he doesn't really offer to go places much, but I'm still glad I declined! Seeing a whoosh stick and continue to move down instead of seeing an immediate gain after getting so excited is better than any enchilada out there, lol.

Ophelia, yay for it sticking! Mine didn't--or at least not entirely. I was up 1 lb today, but since I've still lost 7 lbs since I started mid April, I'm pleased. And hopefully the scale will be kinder tomorrow!

Only 3 more days in April (including today). I can definitely stay on track for that long . . . Then renew my commitment again for May. :)

Had a really rough week. I've felt down/depressed/blue and not known why; had some sweet & salty binges to go along with the feelings. This morning TOM arrived; I hadn't seen him since February. Mystery solved.

Stalled out, but remained at 248.6 today. I think my body is playing catch-up, lol.

Missed my goal by a pound but still am physically so much better off this month that I claim April as a success. Hope to see more improvements in May!

Blah 241.6 yesterday and 242.2. I cheated on Sunday night...still paying for it I guess! But focusing on losing that + some extra this week!

Okay, weigh-in was 248.0 today, so that brings me to 12.4 lbs lost for the month of April! I've been really frustrated since having so many stall days, but it's nice to be able to look back at my goal from the beginning of the month and see that I have actually surpassed my expectation by 2 lbs. I've said this to myself time and time again, but I really need to keep this daily weighing in perspective! Ha.

Also, congratulations to everyone on their great successes! Missing a goal by a couple ounces or a single pound is nothing...you guys did it!! April seemed to be a good month for most everyone, considering. :yes:
