Hello,
I am finishing up week 4 of IP. First week I lost 7 lbs, then .5 then 1.5. Following the protocol but I have a question about the amount of choice protein. My coach said 5-8 oz of protein. I've been eating about 5 oz which seems to be a lot when I look at the portion size. I get full. Am I supposed to be closer to 8 oz, to improve the weight loss? Thank you for your advice.

I have been splitting protein between lunch and dinner most days. I just wasn't able to eat that much at once, but I didn't like seeing my calories that low.

First question: are you weighing your meat BEFORE cooking, or when it's cooked?

I ask because meat shrinks when it is cooked - 5oz cooked meat is really more like 6 or 6 1/2 oz raw. The phase 1 protocol sheet that is most recent (from June 2012) states that we should be eating 8oz real meat protein every day, measured raw.

You can split your protein up (have some earlier in the day and the rest at dinner) if that makes it easier for you.

Regarding your losses, you are actually right about where you should be. It's VERY common to have a much smaller loss after a big loss - also you may find that some weeks you lose inches but not pounds, so make sure you and your coach are doing measurements as well as the scale.

Thank you very much for your replies. I do measure my meat raw. After reading your comments I think I will be increasing to 8 oz and splitting the portions between meals. It is easy to forget that it's not all about the lbs. I have lost 10 inches (about 1 inch each area). Thank you for the support!
