Hey all! Forgot to post on Friday. Did the Walk Slim 4 mile.

Took off yesterday fulling intending to get a good long one in today. Developed a cold last night that my boys have been passing around, so took off today, too. Gotta get to feeling better and back at work tomorrow, so I'm resting today and will get back at it tomorrow. Otherwise, had a really nice weekend, just hubby and I.

Hello everyone! I'm Danielle, I know I'm a bit late getting into this but have been trying to increase my walking and think that this would be a good way to keep myself motivated. I already track my exercise and food on dailyplate so I'm just going to post the walking I've done so far this month. :)

March 10th- 3 mi
March 8th-2.5 mi
March 7th- 2 mi

hey gang  and hey DRose- welcome :)

i just did 2 miles.I used the Power Walk with Friends. I used 3 lb weights which gets kind of tricky bec I have an inflamned tendon in my right wrist. when it's not bothering me I try to strengthen it, which usually aggravates it and gets it going again.

Annie - how was the root canal. some are better than others... i've lost count of how many i've had ;( but I hope yours was easy.

Carol, I hope you're feeling better.

I gotta run cook some supper...later gaters

Feeling introspective today, decided to explore some new streets I haven't walked before. Wound up on some gorgeous country road not far from my house and got 4.5 miles in. :carrot:

Cathy- Sorry to hear about your inflamed wrist. It can be difficult to get motivated to do exercise anyway, let alone with an injury! Awesome job!!

Carol- I'm glad you didn't give up on the thread just yet :)

I have a question for all of you. In what circumstances do you get in most of your walking? Do you take specific time out of the day to walk on planned routes? Do you walk to the store? To work/school? Or on a treadmill?

Just curious! Personally, if I need just a few things at the store I'll walk, other than that most of my walks are around my neighborhood and are solely for exercise. I would love to be able to walk to work but currently that isn't an option.

I was doing the Walk at Home videos for a month. I started on the 3 mile walk and went to the 5 mile walk after 2 weeks. I did the 5 mile walk for 3 weeks and my body was just really used to it and I wasn't seeing much of a difference in my weight loss. I changed my work out after that. It was fun though. I love Leslie.

I don't know what is wrong with me. I am in agony everywhere and so sick to my stomach, the worst headaches I have had in a long time and on and on. Tests are being ran on me and the doctor took me off some of my medicines until we see what is going on. I haven't been working out so I haven't been posting and I have been so sick I haven't even been on here but I wanted to let you all know I am not lost and I haven't ginen up. I just have to stop for a while until I am better. Hopefully I just need a rest and to have my medicine load reduced a bit and I will be back in here with you guys.

2 miles with 2.5 pounds during arm weight section (30 minutes)
New step workout - 4 inch step (15 minutes)

I hate feeling like I have lost so much ground. I have gained back to a57, and I can't workout as hard as I was, I just feel so weak. I am thankful I can walk and start again though. It could be so much worse than having to take a step backwards on the workout front.
The shrieking agony is gone for the most part, I still hurt but it has eased since meds were removed/reduced. My hip still is so touchy though, it is fine and then I move and it is just either cramped up so tight I can't put any pressure on it or it is screaming bloody murder at me.
I am actually getting some sleep now, that is until one of the nine, yes nine! neighborhood dogs start yapping. What am I saying, they never stop yapping. I don't know why people get big dogs then put them outside in tiny little cages or on super short chains and never have anything to do with them except to feed and water them. It makes me so mad. Anyway, I am just going to try to slooooooowly build back my exercise for now.

Wondering how tubolard is doing.

Thank you for asking. :) I actually am doing much better now. I went to the doctor yesterday and he was shocked at how much better I was doing, he said he had been worried about me since I was so bad last time he saw me. I get to add back one medicine a week until I find the one that possibly made me sick. Yay right? If none of them make me sick, we don't know what is going on. Lab results are perfect. I still hurt in some places, but it is much much better. I got a steroid shot in my neck to try to help the pain there and he will look at my hip next month if it is not better. I am not queasy all the time now so I am very thankful for that, and I was able to workout today even if it was at a lower level than I was at. I am just happy to be able to workout at all.
Is it ok if I post my workouts in here even if they aren't WATP? I hope so because I like it in here. :) If it isn't just let me know and I will stop, ok?

Step aerobics: 8 inch step - 7 minutes, 6 inch step - 20 minutes
Wii PT Easy Lower Body: 2 sets of 11 exercises -18 minutes
I was a little sore about 3/4 of the way through the routine but I pushed through it and I am glad I did.
Cooking for 250 people, for 2! meals?! :fr: :faint:

Maybe losing weight has lessened your need for some meds.

Doc has lowered some of my meds because of that actually. Thyroid is lower now, I don't need the water pills and potassium anymore, etc. I am happy for less medicine but I am worried about what could be going on. Thankfully he is a really great doctor so I trust him as much as I can. (I might not be the most trusting person in the world) He seems to be as concerned as I am to figure out what is going on.

New step workout: 6 inch step (15 minutes) That is all I can manage right now between figuring out the steps and it is just plain hard!
Stability ball abs x's 2 (20 minutes)

Hey there....why can't you do the abs workout? is it that it's difficult and you don't like your progress? Don't sell yourself short! Do what you can, try a couple of times a week. Even if you can do 5 minutes of it, you'll build on that :)

Hello friends! I've been so busy here lately I haven't had time to post. Sitting here watching Duck Dynasty and relaxing. I took Monday off from walkikng as I stayed up too late the night before.

Tues: 3 Mile Bootcamp w/ bands
Weds: 2 and almost 1/2 miles of the 5 mile Fat Burning

I am really struggling with my food intake lately. For so long I was able to allow in foods that were "off plan", enjoy them in small amounts and move on back to healthy eating. Not so much lately. Seems like I'm always wanting to bake goodies or grab a treat. I've slowly put on about 9 pounds in the last couple of years and can't seem to back in the swing of getting it off. I think I need to find things to keep me busy in the evenings, those have been the worst. Won't be long til I'm fretting over my flower beds, though, and that should keep me occupied! Anyway...onward!!

One of the perks of my initial weight loss was reducing my high blood pressure meds. Had hoped that if I got down to my original goal I would be able to come off completely, but I've never gotten to it. Anyway, I've been trying to take stock of all the positives I've been given by losing weight and getting in shape. Those FAR outweigh a few minutes of chewing on a fattening treat. Don't mind me, I'm just jabbering and trying to talk myself into getting back on track!

I appreciate you gals being here!

Carol, I agree, we probably burn more calories working out in the mornings. I think mornings are just better bec then you get it done first thing and nothing else gets in the way.

I just noticed that you were cooking for 25 last weekend... how did the Bible conference go? :)

I just noticed that you were cooking for 25 last weekend... how did the Bible conference go? It went really well. The biggest problem we have is that we never know for sure how many will come. The first year in 1996 we had 400. Now we're down to about 250. But on Sun., snow was predicted and there were less people. That means lots of leftovers. But we put them out in the dining room at the end and they all got taken.
