How long did it take you to reach your current weight?
Reading everyone's progress is so inspiring, but I am interested in hearing how long it has taken all of you to reach your current numbers (whether you hit your goal or on your way there). I want to be able to manage my expectations, even though I know everyone's journey is different, it's still motivating to know how long it has taken.

28 weeks, 66lbs. A reasonable expectation is to average between 2 and 3lbs per week, with nothing interfering (TOM, illness, inflammation, etc).

I am on day 73 and have GRATEFULLY lost about 32 lbs. This averages out to 3 lbs /week. My signature says 35 lbs, but sometime in there I transitioned from WI at the IP office with clothes on in the middle of the day to WI at home first thing in the morning, naked.
* I was off program from Dec 2, 2012 thru Jan 15, 2013. I had a pre-IP cruise I went on and then had another unplanned/surprise 5 day vacation. Then, it honestly took me about 2 weeks to kick my rear hard enough to get back on the IP wagon. This time period was deducted and the 73 days are actual days OP.
I'm 41 yr old , 5'4" female. Some other info: Thin until Junior HS. HS weighed 150-160 lbs. Only overweight/obese person in my immediate family. Married at age 22 and weighed 165 lbs. I have never had a child (so, can't use pregnancy weight as an excuse lol). By age 25 was a little over 200 lbs. 245 lbs is the highest I've ever weighed. I have lost and gained about 40-50 lbs two times and this time is the third time I've lost significant weight in the past 15 years. I was never a huge fad/yo-yo dieter. Unfortunately, lost some weight and over time regained it. I have always been in reasonably good shape. I have never had BP problems, I'm not diabetic, but am very slightly hypothyroid. Had a wonderful childhood, so my overeating/weight probelm is simply because food tastes great and once I'm hooked on carbs, I crave them more and more
Hope you find this personal info helpful! Jen

Don't know how I went from 160 to 153 from January 2012 to November 2012. I had joined this site but didn't really want my weight loss as much as I thought. Anyway from nov. 14 until today I have lost 27 lbs. So 27 pounds in 12 weeks. But I started very slow just eating a little less junk until mid December and my hip was injured for 3 weeks in December.
Last time though I went from 185+ to 126 in about 11 weeks, but was very extreme and ended back in the 190's after since I didn't know about maintenance. So I am on my game this time around thanks to 3fc!

62lbs in 29 weeks. The last 6 weeks have been 1-2 pounds or less per week, with one or two weeks of staying the same or a small increase.

There are no " onlys" in losing weight!
2.95 avg per week is phenomenal! (Not "only")
IP used to claim 3-5 lbs per week but have removed those claims.
No more onlys! You are doing great!

My weight loss has averaged 2.3 pounds per week, sticking 100% to plan for 9 weeks, for a total of about 21 pounds.
I find it's really not terribly helpful to compare my own weight loss to others since I lose quite slowly as I approach my goal weight. Those with much more to lose often see some rather dramatic losses in the initial stages.
I'm happy with anything in the 2 pound per week range as an average.

I have been on IP for 14 weeks and have lost 52 pounds to date. That's about 3.7 pounds a week. I started at 236 and am now 184. I am very happy with the results.

I've lost 91 pounds in about 25 weeks. I'm 5' 7.5", so taller, and I'm a Vegetarian. I also have walked almost all my life for fitness, so after the first 3-4 weeks on IP, I started that up, and have continued walking an hour or so a day. I also naturally have a good muscle base, which helps things along also.
I've had great and pretty consistent losses (but I have had the 1/2 pound weekly losses also), but that's me. Everybody has different losses at different rates for a number of reasons, so it's best to realize that. I never thought I'd lose this much weight this fast, but for some reason my body can do this (in the past, I've always been one to gain weight fast and lose weight fast).
You'll do great on this diet. My advice: just follow the plan, and let it do its magic, without worrying about how quickly you're losing weight. The longer you're on this diet, the longer you're eating tons of veggies a day, no sauces, lean meats, etc. And that's not a bad thing. Good luck!

74 lbs in 30 weeks. My original goal was 140, but I decided to lower it this week to 133.
I'm guessing this last 17 lbs will take me about 10 weeks, since my average over the last 4 weeks is around 1.7 lbs/week. I'm not too worried about how long it will take any more.
When I started in July I was hoping to be at goal by my birthday on January 8th. That didn't happen, and there is no way I'm setting a time goal again. Seeing my birthday approaching and not being where I thought I would be was stressful.

Roo,
Thats so incedible!
Ive gone from 141 to 127.2 since January 2nd. How did you manage to get to 120? I am short only 5 feet and still bottom heavy size 10 at 127. I would like to get to 120, which is still a very healthy weight. I have been stuck at 127, 128 for three weeks, not sure what to do....Any tips?
