With Valentine's Day drawing near and concluding many ongoing challenges and spring just about 1 1/2 months away I thought adding a more distant challenge (but not *too* distant) might be helpful. I'd love to have you join me!

Set the goal(s) that suit(s) you best. :carrot:

My goals are to continue to exercise a minimum of 4x per week and to continue the slow and steady weight loss I've been doing since January.

I would like to join up... My goal it to be in onederland by then...current weight is 233.4 so I guess I want to lose a minimum of 34 lbs!

My goal is to be at goal weight by 7/4, which will mean losing a lb a week.

I am also:

1) Counting calories and averaging 1350/day(cycling)
2) Getting some type of exercise 6 days/week
3) Running 2-3 X/week, training for a half-marathon in May

I love the idea of a mid year challenge goal! I failed miserably at the other challenges I signed up for- lets see how this one goes! Independence day is right before my birthday, so it works out well!

I currently weigh about 284, and I'd like to weigh below 250. So that's 34lbs loss by July 4! I think I can do it!

That's 43 lbs. I can do this! I will succeed by logging all my meals into my fitness pal, drinking more water and exercising at least 30 minutes 6 days a week.

Hi,

I am kind of new here xD, and I would like to join you guys on this challenge.
I am planning a trip for the summer, and I REALLY need to look at least decent. :)

Anyway, my goals:

1. I want to loose arround 43ish lbs.
2. I need to start working out, I never have time though, so I'll say walk for at least 20 mins a day and actually workout at least 2 days a week.
3. NOT GIVE UP! I am sick of quiting my diets because I get sad or depressed.
4. Drink 2L of water (min) everyday
5. Keep up the calorie counting!

So, I think that's it? If any of you have any suggestions please feel free to say something, I am kind of improvising here, and if you think my weight loss expectation is too high compared to what I'm willing to work out, please say so! Because I wouldn't know!!!
Also, when does the challenge officially starts? Like when you subscribe, or is there an especific day?

I'm in! I'm part of the Valentine's Day challenge that's ending...tomorrow, so I'm glad I have a new one to start! I just got back from vacation, and apparently I ate way more than I thought I did, so I'm going to estimate my starting weight at 166.0

I would like to be around my high school weight (145 my senior year), so that's 21 pounds by July 4th. Since I weigh in for another challenge on Wednesdays, that will be when I weigh in for this too.

My goal? to be at GOAL (160) fit - as fit as I've ever been and I WILL wear a bikini... probably only for myself and probably never in public, but just to get to the best shape and weight I can be in and just to DO IT!....

So... weight right now is 184ish. Goal is 160.

How's everyone doing on the day American's consume the most sweets out of any day of the year (even Halloween)?
I told my hubs no sweets this year. Flowers- fine, power bars- fine, new water bottle-fine
:) Our neighbor left us some yummy chocolates this morning and I haven't touched them. I can't do the... oh I'll just have one thing. I haven't gotten to that form of will power yet.

My dh have me a really nice ceramic travel coffee mug, really colorful flowers.... And mike and ike's! I had a few, then put the box up. I made up for it by getting done really healthy food for our groceries!

Today will be the 3rd day doing the c25k program. I have lost about 3lbs all ready.


How is everyone else doing?

This is going VERY slowly..only down .2 for the week even though I kept within my calories every day but one. Missed a few days at the gym due to the blizzard. Hope next week is better!

Slow here too but that's what I'm expecting especially this month. V-day wasn't a problem but this weekend, next weekend, and the 27-M2 are more problematic (out of town and the last bit in Vegas). As close as I can figure I stayed in my points yesterday. I did make brownies for DD to take to school on V-day but that was what saved me.... sent them all away. I had probably about a teaspoon full of brownie crumbs, lol. Couldn't even clean up the pan if I'd wanted because I used foil to line it and it was very clean (did get rid of the foil quickly though).

I'm still at 184, had a bit too much salt this weekend, but my plan is to reach 182 by next Monday. I can do this! We all can!

I just went back to my original post and I realized I didn't write in my actual starting weight which was 87 kg or 191.4 pounds. Since then I officially have gotten out of the 190s which is always difficult for me. I'm now right around my lowest adult weight, 189.4. I usually can't get past 187 so I'm going to be very anxious these next few weeks. I can't wait to see 185.

Wll I had a horrible 4 day weekend. We had weekend guests and lots of salty and sweet treats... Weigh in this morning had me up 3 lbs! I am going to reweigh later in the week hoping it is mostly water retention.

Still good here save no exercise yesterday... was traveling and then too tired (and house started out waaay cold at 51 when we got home) to exercise once home and we left too early to start. That is the first day I've missed in around a month though. Food went well. Stayed OP the whole time I was gone. Next challenge is to get past this coming weekend (my parent's 50th anniversary). I know I will be eating cake. Will try to stay way low on other points though. If I can get to next Tuesday without a gain I'll be ecstatic, lol. Then comes Vegas... yi yi yi. Did lose 2# over the last week though. :)

Saw 183 yesterday- getting closer and closer. I am trying really hard to see 182 by Monday's weigh in. My goal is 181 by next Thursday. I think I can, I think I can :)

Back down to just above my plateau weight. Umm...yay? Anyway, I'm hoping if I'm really really good this week, I won't have to see 164.0 for the nine hundredth time on the scale. *fingers crossed*

I'm so glad I saw this challenge! Count me in. By July 1 I'd like to reach 140 lbs and am currently 26.2 pounds away. At one point on my journey I reached 143 lbs. but have gained some weight back. My goals for this challenge are:


Stay hydrated
Improve my running. I'm already a competent runner but I know I can be better. Dropping pounds will only help both in terms of speed and "ease, and also taking stress off my wonky right ankle.
Track my weight progress using my iPhone app "Monitor Your Weight"
Take weekly progress pictures
Log food
Lose the "too snug" feeling some of my clothes have

You can count me in as well. Right now I am starting at 250 and just had my 3rd child last week. My goal is to be down to 230 by the 4th of July. The other goals that I have are to be more consistent with drinking water, tracking calories, and I would also like to start running in the next 4 months.

As for me, up just slightly (less than a pound) after the weekend with cake and other goodies at my parent's 50th. Really not too bad I can't complain. Yesterday I was OP and today I am going to be. Tomorrow-Saturday I am off to Vegas! Lol I'm going to pay attention to my hunger and walk! I'm also going to enjoy the food I want. I know I'll pay in the next week or 2 but I'm going to get right back to it when I get home. Have a great week everyone!! :)

Great goals mrsaugie and congratulations on your third little one! Good luck with your running goal. I walked and power walked for a long time before I started running and I found that not only did I lose a significant amount of weight combining it with a healthy eating plan, but it also helped me build a strong foundation for when I did start running.

Hey all! How are things going for everyone? I'm good here despite Vegas. Completely shocked as I actually had a small loss today.

That is wonderful mrsaugie! And congratulations. Enjoy this time... my youngest is 17 now. The time flies!! I'm headed to her HS graduation in a bit over a year.

Down 1.2 this week to 137.8 but only .2 last week, so an average of .7/week. For the most part have been doing well..calories have been creeping up, so I have to watch that if I want to lose faster. I'd be very happy with a lb. a week, which would get me to goal before 7/4.

I'm at 165.8 this week, down .7 lb. Admittedly, I am inconsistent with my food intake. My exercise is consistent and intense but I KNOW that if I'm not taking in more calories than I should, I'm eating just enough to maintain this weight.

In trying to remember back to when I hit my lowest (143) I realize that my current job has A LOT more stress than the one I had then three years ago. I certainly can't blame stress entirely for my holding on to the weight, but I'm curious to know from others if you believe that stress contributes at all to slow or miniscule losses. Again, I fully admit to making bad/suspect choices but even in my current stretch of making really good choices the one thing that is significantly different about my life is the stress level.

I'm down to 184.6 which is the lowest I have ever seen as an adult so I'm super excited. I have been losing weight pretty slowly the last couple of weeks, but I'm hoping that soon I'll be able to start running outside and it'll come off faster.

Is it too late to join? I've been away from the site for a long time now, and I've been trying to get back on track, but I've not been as successful as I was before, so I think I really need the accountability.

My goal is to get down to 180 by July 4th. Exercise 5x a week, plus do yoga 6x a week. And continue to cut out processed junk (just recently gave up diet sodas!)

I am quite excited. I finally weighed myself this morning and I was 179.3! I never thought I'd see this decade so soon. I also am reevaluating my goal. I originally thought 170 was as low as my body could go, but now that I'm less than 10 pounds from there I know 160 is where I should be. I guess I originally didn't believe that I had over 50 pounds to lose. Unless my weight loss really slows down, I believe I can hit 160 by the beginning of July.

I would like to join this challenge! I really need something more to hold myself accountable. I would like to lose about a lb a week, but want to give myself some wiggle room. I just started my weight loss journey on valentines day, so this seems like a good fit!

I don't know why I'm up this week. I am really sore right now from a combination of 4 hours of yard work followed some heavy bag workouts, so maybe that is the cause for the little uptick. Need less to say, I'm not happy about it. :(

I can't even imagine being 15lbs less by the summer at this point -- I just started exercising using WATP and meal planning with weight watchers this week. Between my doctor's visit last week and then this week - I'm already down 5lbs!

Going well here too. I've done the elliptical nearly daily this week (save for Monday my volunteer day where I do a fair amount of walking). Staying OP too so I'm nearly to 25# lost since I began in January.
