Hello all! Thought we could start a new thread this month for oldies and newbies alike. So, here's to a fat-free February! Today's weigh in makes my totals -19 pounds in 19 days! I'm loving the plan, and it is so easy to stick to! Thankful it has been brought into my life....actually I guess I should thank myself for making the commitment to walk in the door of the center Jan. 7! I continue to appreciate those of you who are maintaining and still check in here to share what you know with us. That information and support is invaluable!:)

Hi ~
I'm new to this site, but have been doing MRC for about 3.5 months. I'm working hard to lose some weight and have hit some snags along the way, but am trying to stay positive.

I am currently trying to exchange more expensive diet pills from MRC with less expensive ones. Any ideas?

Thank you!

End of week 3 for me. Pre-conditioning loss of 2.5lbs, 1st real week lost 2 more lbs, 2nd week GAINED .5lbs. She did my diagnostics and apparently I've only lose .3%body fat I'm really discouraged with all of this, but trying to stick with it for the 17 weeks I paid for.

Hi everyone-
My weigh in today was better than I thought it would be. Down another 3.5lbs! That makes 23lbs and 22 inches total! :woohoo:WooHoo!

I joined 1/14/13, lost 5.5 lbs the first week or so. Went back yesterday and had gained 1.5 lbs! I don't really know how I could have gained, did not cheat at all. According to counselor I had lost on BMI, few inches, etc. Still depressing but I'll carry on.

So sorry you are discouraged! I felt the same way last week over about a five or six day period. I had eaten completely on plan, but was not losing. I finally realized that I wasn't eating ENOUGH protein and veggies. We eat out a lot, and most restaurants do not have a large enough portion of meat in their entrees. I started supplementing my protein intake with a few extra slices of deli turkey, chicken, etc. and it made a huge difference by just adding a few extra ounces of protein. This may not apply to you, but I wanted to share. I thought eating "less" than the required would be ok, but it didn't work that way.

I don't take many of the supplements, but I can tell you that the EFA (Essential Fatty Acids) can be bought anywhere in the form of fish oil tablets. Those have helped me a lot in keeping my digestive system running on track ;)

I have been taking tons of supplements and have not been losing very quickly. I took the hormone test and it told me that all of my hormones are out of whack. Which I knew because I've been cranky for years now. ;)

I did find that KLB5 can substitute for the MRC-6, and 7-Keto can be found online much cheaper than through MRC. They have put me on a sublingual B12 complex, glucose pills, a hormone balancing cream and iodine.

So many pills. I hate taking them, but I thought I would stick it out if it was really going to make a difference.

I also went to the health food store and found out how to check your thyroid without paying a fortune at the doctors office. I've had it checked by them twice and they say it's fine, but I think it's not.

Yes - STAY POSITIVE! You can't have total control over the scale - you can only make the right choices and stay the course. This program WORKS! And when you're at the end and look back, you'll realize it works FAST. I know it doesn't feel like that now, but stick with it. A positive attitude goes a long way in a weight loss journey (negative = stress = weight gain).

I did my program without any of the extra pills. The only ones required were the fish oils and a multi-vitamin, both of which I purchase in bulk at Costco.

... I took the hormone test and it told me that all of my hormones are out of whack...

Would love to hear if anybody took the hormone test and WASN'T told that? Just curious...

Keep up the good work everyone!

Aw shucks. Don't worry about that little gain - that's considered maintaining. I know you probably don't feel like you stuck to plan and did all that work just to maintain, but it all evens out in the long run. It really does. Please, please don't give up - work those 17 weeks and at the end you'll be so grateful you did. I know I am!

peg51, konacoral, mama22, so fun to hear your enthusiasm coming through on your posts. Keep up the good work!

I'm about to finish up week three of stabilization. Down another pound at weigh-in yesterday. My husband loves, loves, loves my new body, but I'm struggling a bit with my self-image. I don't want the weight back, mind you! Just keeping it real.

Had my yearly exam and the nurse measured me and I'm actually 5'8". I've been shorting myself an inch all this time! Too funny. I've always suspected but never confirmed it. Anyway, the center will do one last body comp when I finish stabilization and it will be interesting to see if that extra inch will do anything to the numbers.

Tortilla pizza for lunch today from the cookbook - using the turkey sausage on top also from the cookbook. Gonna go pop it in the toaster oven now. Eating like this is not dieting - it's too good. So grateful for yummy, wholesome, fresh food to fuel my body.

S3a007- ugh! I can't imagine how frustrated you must be! Are you taking your food journal to your weigh in? My consultant explained that while I was eating on program, I wasn't eating enough. I lost 3 pounds the next three days when I added more food. So counterintuitive! Also, if you haven't already, you might try a meal replacement shake...the good thing about them is that there is nothing to weigh or think about. Just blend it up with some ice, and you're good to go. With 2 cups of water and 2 cups of ice, it makes a 32 ounce shake. I like chocolate mixed with the lemon HNS. I have to force myself to drink it all because it makes so much! So, there are a couple of tips I can offer. There are lots of folks on here with MUCH more experience and information than me who I am sure can offer advice as well. Hang in there...don't give up! You started this for a reason...we all did :) Gotta keep going.

NTVANGEL...This is just my personal opinion but I don't think all these supplements are going to help you lose the weight any faster. I say that because I have been there and done that! I started MRC in March 2012 and it took me 6 months to lose 30 pounds. I took all the supplements you mentioned and none of them helped me lose any faster. I refused to do the hormone test (did not want to pay the money for it) and they swore it was due to my hormones (I am 52). So the manager gave me a free test and they determined that the hormone cream would be the magic ticket to get the weight off - not so. I have never had such a problem losing weight in the past, so I attribute it to my age and menopause. I know it is discouraging when you don't lose like some otheres here, but stick to it and you will lose the weight. I was eventually put on the metabalance plan and that seemed to work better. I think metaslim may just not have been enough calories for me.
My advice is stick to the plan (no cheats), make sure to drink all your water, get in all your HNS's and do some walking and don't get discouraged!

Happy February everyone!

I went for weigh in yesterday and down another 1 lb, whoot! They have a note in my file to do a recording for radio advertisement (if I want) so I'll talk with one of the managers on Wednesday when I go back in for my next appointment.

For our new people joining, this program does work if you work it. I've found that what works for some doesn't work for me, such as the all the pills, creams, etc. I have listened, read the handouts and read some more on this site in our area (MRC), gone all the way back to the beginning and read over a bunch of stuff. For example, I was on Corti Trim and MRC 6, they made me feel bloated and for me the weight loss seemed slow compared to others so after week 3 I talked with my counsilor and told her I was stopping them because 1) my budget won't handle the cost of the extra pills and 2) the way they made me feel. She understood and was fine with me stopping them. 3 lbs lost in the 1 week without being on Corti Trim and MRC 6. Again, this is just me, it may work for you.

In short, try things that others have suggested and if they don't work for you, then change it. If in doubt, as your center, we have invested a lot of money in ourselves via this program and we are worth it so get our monies worth!

Alright, my challenge for today is Super Bowl Sunday at my brother's house. I'm planning on bringing my own food, so as to help with the temptation of all the yummy wings, dips, chips, sodas, cookies, pies, cakes, etc... My first real outing to a party since I joined Jan 2, 2013. I can do this!

Hey Peg15 thanks for your suggestions.
I am talking the food diary and i was told that i am doing everything right but somehow weight is not coming off. I didnt get my saliva test back yet though will see how that goes. My center doesnt recommend more than 1 replacement
meal a week.

Work in progress i agree. I am taking all the supplements and develop gastritis and stopped all the meds except the fish oil.IN my personal opinion they were not making a difference.
I hope this week i loose some... I CAN DO IT..

s3a007, I wish you all the best in this program. I would be so upset if I were in your shoes! As it was, I was very, very cranky with the center my first month or two on program. I started out taking the "Big 3" and worked the program perfectly and I only averaged 2 1/2 lbs a week loss. Normally I'd be thrilled with results like that on my own, but with the expense of all those pills I'd caved and bought and the sign-up cost of program and the HNS's, I was seriously ticked not to be getting the 3-5 lbs/week loss the center "guarantees" and no answers/help when I would weigh-in.

It took me a long while to get over it. I had to stop punishing myself for how stupid I felt for having bought all the pills. I had to get over the fact that the "weight loss specialists" were really just salespeople. I had to accept the fact that I was only getting the one menu from them and no further help. So I learned to relax and enjoy my green menu.

I used the on-going expense of the HNS's (which I dropped to the 2/week required minimum) and the ordeal of hauling my 3 kids into weigh-ins twice a week as motivation to continue to work the program perfectly and make the money and effort worth it. I started attending the Connections classes and that helped restore my confidence in the center immensely. My weight loss average stayed the same.

At the end of my journey now, I can say I love this program. It really did work for me and it worked quickly and with a much higher percentage of fat loss vs. muscle than on other diets I've done. I know I will be incorporating healthy meal choices I learned from the menu as a lifestyle choice from now on.

My husband and I started the program with our kids 1/19 - we went to the food class, and probably the most influential thing they said to us was, "If you eat off program, your weight loss will stall up to four days." We're averaging about $100 per week for our family to do this (more since my stepson is signing up tomorrow), so a cheat is effectively $50. Our children repeat this to us at every cheatable moment. We tell each other the same thing...

So we stay on plan, because I have yet to see a $50 cookie.

The first week, I lost 7 pounds and he lost 2. The next weigh in, I was steady, and he had gained 0.5. He was, oh let's just say - VERY ANGRY. Even our kids (doing metakids) had lost 3 pounds. I do his cooking, so I was pretty sure what he was eating - but he wasn't drinking enough water. He upped the water intake, and as of Thursday 1/31, he had lost 15 pounds. And his belt, which had 4 holes left, had to have a new hole punched to keep his pants up.

We take the big 3 when we remember, a daily multi vitamin, krill oil that I buy at walmart, as well as Cinnamon and Cayenne supplements (also at Wal-Mart). He does no extra exercise, I'm trying - but we both do quite a bit of walking in our jobs.

My whole post is to highlight two things: Drink your water. Drink all your water. Drink some more water. AND Be consistent - the plan works if you work it (absent long term steroid use (i.e. asthma) and thyroid abnormalities - some symptoms are being cold and thinning eyebrows, see your doc if you think that's an issue.)

Im thinking we all are fading or something. I know I did the $50.00 cheat and that sucks. It was super bowl and my husband made freakin pizza. Of course he weighs nothing.

I'm glad I declined the one Super Bowl Party invitation we got this year. I can't "graze" anymore. Don't want to go back to the old habits.

SCStxRN, how unusual to lose faster than your husband! Glad it's all coming together for your family. Wish my center hadn't flaked on my food instruction class - seems like I missed a lot of good information. Oh well, I still worked my menu and lost the weight and that's what matters! :carrot:

konacoral, you gotta start making the cookbook pizza. It's good stuff I tell you! I love pizza. Every other Friday (okay - sometimes EVERY Friday) in our house, since my husband started his own business and basically left me as a single mom, I do "Pizza Friday". Kids love it and it gives me a little break. I've never had a slice. That's willpower, my friends. We're talking about me, the gal who could polish off nearly an entire Costco pizza on my own. I've dreamed about allowing myself a slice of Costco pizza twice a month when on maintenance (one slice of combo: 680 cal, 29 g fat, 72 g carbs!) for seven months now, but honestly now that I've had the cookbook version I'm thinking I just need to let those be a thing of my past. I can see how easy it is to make all kinds of tortilla or light flatout flatbread pizzas with way less fat/calories and they really are good.

I did really good at the Super Bowl party I went to with my family, did not snack at all! :D I made the Cheeseburger Soup for myself and decided to take the rest for the family so they could try it too, everyone liked it. I also packed strawberries drizzled with some Walden Farms chocolate syrup for my sweet treat.

You ladies inspired me to make the pizza last night and it was yummy! I had some left over chicken so I used it with green onions, green peppers and garlic.

SCStxRN - welcome and I think it's wonderful that your family joined with you!

All of my family (Mom, brother, sister in law, their kids and my daughters) are naturally thin people so they don't completely understand my journey. Don't get me wrong, they are super supportive, it's just they have never had to work to lose weight or fight through the cravings. That's why I really enjoy this board and the support group here and in the program.

s3a007 - I'm rooting for you...hoping you lose at your next weigh in!

Then put all the fun stuff on it.
Last night I went on cauliflower over load when I blended it up. It was like mashed potatoes.. Oh my stomach!! LOL

Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well and the pounds are coming off!

I weighed in yesterday and down another 1 lb :spin:

konacoral - I made the turkey meatloaf and the 'mock' mashed potatoes using the cauliflower, put a couple of spritz of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter and pepper for taste. The 'mock' mashed potatoes were yummy.

I've tried using the ground turkey breast several different ways (chili, meatloaf, burgers, etc.) and I just can't get into it. For me, it doesn't seem to hold the flavor of the seasonings like chicken or buffalo meat. I really would like to find something so I don't get burnt out on just chicken/fish/buffalo meat.

Anyone have any suggestions for something that might help with the ground turkey breast flavoring?

Congrats on the LB!!!!! Awesomeness and glad to hear you liked the MOCK mashed taters!
As far as the ground turkey meat... i just have sautee'd it with onions and a fajita taco mix and then throw 4 oz into a half flour tortilla. It totally works for me and supports my MEXICAN food cravings. WHICH I have 24/7!
I could live in Mexico!
I do the same with Talapia Fish... broil on foil and add lemon juice Mrs Dash citrus mix.

Thank you goingforfit. You look incredible and I really appreciate your comments. I am on day 13, into the green and am a little nervous about being on green. I am not hungry and have lost a lot of my desire for food. Period. I think the extra protein and supplements gives me energy and with my elderly dad, teenage boys and demanding job, I am starting to wonder if I ever want to get off the supplements as I feel good.

So, my goal has to be consistent in my program and I have been for 13 days which is a huge win for me. I'm one that before could be good for only 3-4 days at a time without a little cheat.

So, I am not going to give up. I am sure that there will be plateus and patience with consistency will make this work!

Also, I am exploring other things to bring me happiness and joy versus food. I find I have more time with my family and friends even.

Work In Progress, I know what you're saying about the ground turkey. It definitely has it's own thing going on no matter what you put it in. I guess I'm lucky in that I still like it. I second Konacoral's suggestion to use taco seasoning on it. I throw 3-4 ounces of taco seasoned ground turkey on my big green salads, (with 1/2 oz cheese if doing the 3 oz) and add 1/4 cup low-sodium black beans and Walden Farms ranch for a taco salad, or skip the beans and do the tortilla wrap with the meat and some of the veggies and ranch.

If you like sauerkraut, the turkey kraut burger recipe is excellent and very flavorful - so much in each bite the turkey burger taste doesn't overpower at all. And I love the taco chili recipe from the cookbook too. Actually, you don't have to have only ground turkey - you can have turkey breast. I've found it in the fresh foods packaged just like chicken breasts. It has a totally different texture than the ground turkey so that may make a big difference for you.

mamamia77 thank you for the compliment! I remember being nervous going onto the green menu because it was more food than the pre-conditioning menus! I didn't understand that. But I've really learned to love the green menu. I also didn't realize those HNS's made any difference until now. Stopped having the one at breakfast and my tummy starts growling audibly a few hours later! I really resented having to buy all of the HNS's at first, but have come to really enjoy them and plan on incorporating them into my maintenance diet at least for when I make a dessert so I can get the extra protein. I'm surprised I haven't found better prices for similar products on-line. Congrats on your goal of consistency and for finding other things to fulfill you. It is an emotional journey as well as a physical one, that's for sure.

Well I haven't stabilized in stabilization yet - I weighed in with another pound down on Wednesday, which brought my total weight loss to exactly 60 lbs! I signed up to lose 48 lbs, so signing those 50 and 60 lbs scale boards was pretty mind-blowing for me. Every time I go in for a weigh-in now, someone asks me what I'm doing there. Hey - they should be glad to see me - I'm proof that it works!

Try mixing turkey with buffalo or chicken. I don't know which plan you are on but on the Meta Slim you can have ground round or sirloin 2x a week for dinner. I have mixed the turkey with ground round.

Thank you all for the wonderful ideas for the ground turkey!

I weighed in this morning and was down another 1.5 lbs.

I know I'm losing weight, I see it on the scale but I don't exactly feel or see it yet (I've always preferred loose fitting clothes). Today, even with the loss, I got discouraged... I read my affirmations and kept thinking 'this didn't come on over night and it's not leaving over night'. I focused on several of my projects here at the house and feel much better now that many of them are completed, a sense of accomplishment. This too shall pass.

I hope you all are doing good!

Thanks so much for the input. It is discouraging.....I have to be honest. I've been going off the diet more than on lately because I'm not seeing results. My coach is great, but I'm getting very frustrated. I'm 44 and it shouldn't be THIS hard. :(:?:

Well, going off plan more than on isn't going to get you the results you're wanting. :( It's pretty specific and going off messes it up. What I mean is, it's not like other plans where it's a straight caloric trade-off. Shucks, I wish you were feeling better about it. Hard seeing someone struggle with something that worked so well for me. My weight didn't come off as fast as for others on here, but I didn't mind because I wasn't hungry and I liked my food choices. Are you not happy with the menu? Even when the scale didn't change for me, I took pride in preparing and eating so healthfully. That helped me plug along.

So it is 15 days now? When I stalled I decided to do Metaquick. Then of course my job suddenly got a bit more stressful. I am torn between supporting my company in making a software sale as an application vendor and wanting to provide the customer the complete solution. I am going to try to encourage the marketing vp to consider how we can do both. This is a bit more tricky because I am the sole income these days. Well, what doesn't kill you makes you strong, right? It helps that you guys write back so much!! Thank you for telling me to hang in there and same to you. We shall overcome!! Just for fun, I am reading the Abundance book. I keep looking for inspirational books to keep me going and lots of prayer.

...I know I'm losing weight, I see it on the scale but I don't exactly feel or see it yet (I've always preferred loose fitting clothes). Today, even with the loss, I got discouraged... I read my affirmations and kept thinking 'this didn't come on over night and it's not leaving over night'. I focused on several of my projects here at the house and feel much better now that many of them are completed, a sense of accomplishment. This too shall pass...

I loved this post. This was so me. I had to lose about 25 lbs before I felt like I was accomplishing anything with my weight loss. Those poor gals at the center would try to be all "Woo-hoo, down another 1.5! Good for you!" and I felt like saying "Yeah, whatever - I'm still fat". Isn't it funny how progress can still be discouraging? I like your attitude - good for you for working through it.

mamamia77, I liked MetaQuick with my week of chocolate shakes! I found it to be a nice break from all the cooking-from-scratch meals. Should be nice for your stressful week. I really enjoyed reading all the things you're thankful for. Thanks for sharing. :)

Going4Fit - it is so good to hear that someone else feels (felt) the way I do, I'm trying to stay positive and shake this off...I am thankful that I found this board for the extra support.

Morning everyone - Touching base.
Nothing to report as of yet. I need to do my inches obviously since weight training stalls the scale. Im okay with that because I'm feeling pretty good.

I just posted my new challenge video from start of week 5 at the gym here in my signature. Its fun to look at the first one and then see the latest. Its quite spectacular to see the difference.

Everyone is doing so good! Thats so amazing!!! I love it.
Chat with you all later getting ready to the 2nd to last video tonight and weighing in.

Suggestions - anyone have to go off the HNS?

konacoral - I read some past posts about HNS that people bought off different websites but I can't remember exactly where they were, sorry. Have you spoken with your center to see if they have something budget friendly or recommend something? Today at my weigh in we were talking about costs and stopping certain things (not the things in my contract but the extras, which they totally understand), point is they may understand and be able to help.

Weigh in today, down .5 lbs with a grand total so far of -16 lbs :woohoo: I also met with one of the managers to do a radio recording because I'm doing so good.

The BIGGEST new news... I FINALLY see it, the weight loss, holy cow is it AMAZING!! New meaning for me to the affirmation... Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!

Yes, she did talk to me and recommend doing 2 shakes a day but to be careful and not fall off the wagon. I found a soy protein that has the same protein/fiber/etc... as the HNS label.
Im afraid ... but have high hopes.
Since Im in CA - they dont seem to try to find me or get ahold of me and check in. Its a little odd.

konacoral - that is odd to me, I check in twice a week and they call me at least 1-2 times a week to see how I'm doing and if I have any questions. I'm a talker though and each time I go in I seem to get a different counselor (I've gotten to know each of them now) and we get to chatting away about everything, then it's usually a different counselor that does the friendly call that week. I like all the ladies but I do have my favorite one and usually I don't see her so when I leave we talk at the counter catching up...we like the same tv shows, movies and books. :)

Don't be afraid, I know you can do it, I'm here for you!

I went to class tonight and did weigh in after, lost another 1 lb...down 17 lbs in total so far.

konacoral - I DEFINITELY see the difference! You look fabulous and always smiling :D

corisimo - :bravo: on your weight loss and getting your bracelet! I understand what you are saying about losing slowly, while my loss has been about 2-2.5lbs a week, it's not the 3-5lbs the center says. I've learned not to compare my loosing to anyone else, just to be happy with myself for working it.

dkdaisybutters - AMAZING! :congrat: You are an inspiration to me, thank you!

I'm hanging in here, the weather has been nasty but I'm finally back at work today and going for my weigh in tonight. Hope you all are staying well and doing good!

Amazing story TO ME...
I went to the closet today and grab some jeans. I had a pair in there that needed to get donated because they were older and always stretched out by the middle of the day. They were just terrible.

Thought these were the ones, put them on zipped buttoned and they felt a little snug but not bad at all.

I went to the restroom today and they were a pair of size 10! I thought they were the 12's that I had but I then remembered I got rid of them already. :carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot:

Hi All! I'm a new chick. Started this journey recently. It's a struggle and I'm learning my way along. Like the theory is that the hcg will eat up the hard stored fats. So any new fat you eat, it will target that, there by wasting the expensive dose you ate this morning. And it reprograms metabolism so you want to reset it for the stored fats but if you often fluctuate between a no fat meal and eating even a bit of the nasty, it will slow down, wait until the day you eat the nasty, knowing that it's coming soon, and the weight loss will be slower because newly digested fats weigh less than stored fats? Or am I still not getting it? I stick to it as best I can and am fairly successful. 22 lbs/ 30 "odd" days. Let's continue being losers together! This is one of the best sites I've seen, very positive & upbeat. I'm hoping it works for us all! Good luck!

I started the MRC eating plan on 2/2/13. I went with my neighbor for her re-join meeting session. They shared the eating plan with me and let me buy supplements and protein drinks and creamies without having to join the program at that time. To date I have lost 17 lbs. I am shooting for 20 lbs in February. I love to eat this way as I love meat and fruit. I do low carb very well. I have 23 lbs to go and plan on joining the program when I have about 10 lbs to go because I know they will be the hardest.

You all are doing great! I look forward to "hearing" more of your successes over the next few days in February.

Again this week the weather has been yucky, yesterday I worked from home and did not do good...I was so wrapped up in work I didn't eat breakfast or lunch, by the time I took a break it was 3pm. :(

Back on track today and I go for weigh in tonight so I'll post an update.

My center did a 2-for-1 joining special the entire month of February. Maybe that's what it was since she went with a friend?
