Default Oat groats

I picked up a bag of whole oat groats at my farmer's market. Most people grind them for flour. I discovered they make the best oatmeal ever. Not only are they more tasty then rolled or Steel cut oats they are also cost efficient.

They take a little more prep but are worth it and now part of my routine.

I make one cup dry and get 3 servings but you could double it and then simply reheat through the week.

Night before:

Bring 3 1/2 cups of water to a boil
Add 1 cup oat groats
Simmer 5 mins

Set pan off heat and leave out covered overnight

In the morning simmer covered 20 mins

I eat it with fruit and cinnamon. So filling.

Of course if you are on high protein you could add your protein powder of choice.

Yum!
