April 2nd is significant to me because it's the Blue Jays home opener and I want to be more comfortable in those little seats than I was last season. It is also a hard climb up to the nosebleed bleachers and last year I was very out of breath. In Toronto, April is also when the lighter coats come out and the clothes get less bulky.

Does April 1st mean something to you? Join me!

April is our annual family trip to Disney on Ice we always have so much fun but each year I shell out for rink side seats because the view is great but also because the cheaper seats are smaller and my butt doesn't fit. I would also like to be able to sit in the middle of the row and not the end of the row so I know people can get past me. *sigh*

So my goal... drop 17lbs (god i hope I can do it)

I am hoping that setting the small goals will help me reach my bigger goal. We will see. I will check in Feb 1st :)

I love this! I made my long-ish term goals today and stopped at April 15th! I currently weigh 201 and aim to be 190 when I go for vacation February 22nd. I want to rock that bikini! I want to maintain while I am away, and then make it to 180 by mid April. So, I am aiming for 21 lbs by April 15th :D WOO!!!

Great thread! And I am from Toronto originally too and yes- those seats are tiny. I can't wait to hear about how you celebrate the home opener!

This sounds like a good motivator! Summer will be here soon and I REALLY want to have clothes to wear!
I'm going to aim big and try for 25pounds just cause I'm at the beginning of my journey and I know I can do it. I used to get discouraged if I didn't see large numbers but not anymore, so I know it won't start a binge/slide if I don't make it.

April is when I return home to the UK and want to do it in style!

As I'm not weighing at the moment, I'm making mainly NS victories, by April 1st I want to have finished the 30ds and ripped in 30 dvd's and to see a tangible difference in my before and after photos! I want to be comfortable in my bikini on my beach holiday before I come home, and when I arrive back to the UK somewhere around teh 14th, I want to weigh in at less than my old lowest weight of 168, which I know now I'm above, I'd love to be a lot below, but I'll take anything for now!

Great thread, I'll pop back in once a week or so to check in and see how everyone's getting on!

Today is day 3 of 30 DS, so a long way to go!!

Another less likely to achieve goal but I'm going to stick it in anyway, I'd love to be running 5K by then too, but not sure I can really train for that here, but I'll try!

Running a 5k by my 30th birthday (October of this year) has been on my bucket list for a while. I would really love to check it off. But I have a LONG way to go.

I was 243 this morning - I'm going to try for 229 on this one and hope that I can do even better. I like to pick goals I feel like I've got a reasonable chance of meeting, maybe even beating, rather than making them a little tougher to get to at the start.

Hey guys, I just found this and would like to join. April 1st is actually my anniversary with my fiancÚ and I'd love to be 10 pounds down. I'm about 5 pounds from the lowest weight he's ever seen me!!

April- I'm with you on the lower goal weights, this one is probably the most difficult one I've set, but I'm still planning on hitting it. Good luck!!

Gonna get a new scale this month and hopefully it will be somewhat close to the one we've got cause otherwise I'm gonna get confused :dizzy: Our current scale was free from work and only goes in 0.5 pound increments and doesn't go high enough to weigh my husband (who's 6'4" and over 300 pounds)

I'd like to join in. I have been gaining lately, and not watching what I eat after 5 pm. I have been working out 4 days a week, but need to up that to 5. And I definitely need to control my night eating. The first week in April is my Spring Break (I work in an elementary school). I'm not going anywhere, just want to fit into all of the beautiful clothes I haven't been able to wear for the past 3 years. I've gained 30 lbs in 3 years. My goal for this challenge is to lose at least 12 lbs (reach 183 or less). Will weigh in on Mondays.

I think I'm going to weigh in on Tuesdays for no real reason than I need to pick a day and today is Tuesday!

The last 10 days have been odd for me. My weight usually fluctuates a bit daily but last week I had 6 straight days of weighing 192 then I started yo-yoing again, but with fluctuations of up to 4 pounds a day. I haven't really changed anything and it isn't TOM so I'm not sure what's going on. I was down again today and I'm hoping to stay down.

OK, it's been another week and I am still 269. All I can say is at least I didn't gain!!

That's 3lbs down, 13 to go with 6 weeks left? Not looking likely. Maybe I should revise my goal? My weight loss is definitely slowing down, which I suppose is normal. I'll keep it the goal, but would be very happy with 148 on April 1 and finish this by tax day maybe. That would be ironic.

Is it too late to join? My goal for April 1st, when I started my journey (Jan. 28), was 25 pounds.
I have lost 17.6 lbs. and would like to adjust that amount now.
So, I'll say 15.2 lbs. That will get me out of the 250's!

Well, I've dropped 3 lbs in 10 days. Not bad. Aiming for another 2 lbs this week. I'm on February break from my job (teacher), but am still working on graduate work. I love break because then I can really get in some good workouts (I tend to be so exhausted after working with 2nd grade students all day), and not grab breakfasts and lunches on the go.

When I joined the challenge I didn't really have anything happening on April 1st but now I do! Well March 31st.... I am going to my brother's house for Easter. Most of my family lives near him and I haven't seen them for 5 years. So it will be the first time I have seen everyone since I have lost 86lbs! I hope to say 90lbs by then ;)

Changing goal, since my loss has slowed down. :(

10lbs to go and about 4 weeks, yeah, not going to happen. The 8lbs from above would be nice, but most likely I'll be at 150 on April 1. Fine. I like the challenge but don't get too caught up in these things when they don't happen - assuming that I am losing. If not, then I'd be upset, but it's hard to not be happy about losing weight - even if it's not a much as I wanted. I started this challenge at 161, so being down 6lbs so far is cool and if I make it to 150, that's 11lbs. I'll take it!

TONTUS94-I am excited for you. I can't imagine the feeling of having lost that much and not seeing your family in so long. They are going to be shocked, taking pictures, etc..Have you thought of any makeover things to do before Easter like haircut, highlights, etc? why not go in looking your best? Also the mini makeover could boost your motivation to make it an even 90 or more pounds by then. :D Best wishes to you!

I started this current challenge at 269. I am now 263!! Goal is 255 for Easter. That is 8 pounds in 4 1/2 weeks. I am stepping up my exercise. (From not really exercising at all to at least 15 minutes a day) Baby steps...

Very happy with my progress so far, although I did just change my goal weight because for some reason, it was only 14 lbs? I don't even remember if that was on purpose, but in any case, I think it's still very realistic, and hope to be a few pounds below that by the end.

Actually I posted my 263 close to two weeks ago, then was up a bit, down a bit but never got below that 263 until now. I doubt I will make 255 like I wanted for Easter but will keep on plugging on. Any loss is a good loss!

I didn't check in last week, I was really busy! Last week I was only down 2oz anyway...

I am no longer obese! I needed to get under 174lbs to be only overweight :dizzy: That is a great(but weird) accomplishment!

Loganandlivsmom Well I had planned on getting a mani/pedi before I see my family but I think I will follow your advice and get something new done to my hair too!

TONTUS94--I am glad you are going to get your hair done too! why not? Sometimes just trimming the ends, a blow out or some highlights etc...can do wonders for your outlook. Congrats on being "only overweight" LOL It has been ages for me since I haven't been obese. That is quite an accomplishment in itself!:carrot:

Me-down another pound! One more pound to the big 4-0. It's over two weeks to get to our April 1st goal. I am probably not going to make mine, but I am OK with it. As long as it's in the downward trend I am happy! :D

I am very disappointed with myself this morning. I did perfect all week then Saturday hits and I overate and didn't work out and Sunday followed the same pattern but I did get a 3 mile walk in. So after overeating, lots of salt and no BM for 3 days(I have issues in this area) I am up a couple of pounds.

Today I am getting back on track! My goal is to make it through this weekend on track. It seems harder on the weekends with my husband and kids at home. I see them eating and it makes me lose my mind for a few hours :devil:

I am leaving my ticker at my weight pre-weekend as a reminder......

OMG, I'm so excited, it's TOM and I ate way too much for dinner last night, but besides that I had a good week. I even went for my first run in over 4 months on Saturday. And the results are good. I lost over 2.5 pounds somehow this week and officially met my goal, crazy!!!! I'm going to see if I can get out of the 180s now.

Well, it's been close to 2 weeks since I have posted and I am the same weight. I am happy I haven't gone up. I have been up a wee bit and then down a wee bit but still the same weight. I saw a previous post where I stated my starting weight for this challenge which was ~269~, going to really try to focus so I can say on the 1st, I at least made it to an even 260. 255 will have to wait! ;)

CONGRATS to changergirl and Ichoosetobelieve! that is the best feeling!

Well, it's April 1st here so this challenge is over, for me. I haven't lost any weight since the last time I checked in, well hardly any. But after indulging on chocolate and ice cream yesterday I will not complain.
