I'm frustrated that I can't seem to weigh at home anymore. My scale is just too inaccurate and inconsistent now. (Am I totally weird for being a bit sad to throw it away? We've been through a lot). I can't wait for my new scale to arrive! In the meantime, I will have to use the gym's scale.

Today is an official weigh-in for me, but I still think I would like to go to the gym for a bit, which makes I will be drinking water and eating breakfast. ::shrugs:: Still not total confirmation about weigh-in after super bowl and if you win a month of program...but if that's the case, I'll be setting myself up nicely, I hope?

TOM started yesterday. Blargh. I think for a long time I was always walking around bloated. Now I realize what bloat actually feels like.

I'm sort of addicted to Amazon.....

A few years back I bought an Eatsmart Precision with step on tech. It's the most accurate scale I've ever used! While some days I hate it and want to take my hammer to it, I can't really complain. It's not really its fault that it makes me angry.

Its mine I guess? LOL So far I use it and the one up here at work as they are always within 1/2 lb of each other.

HelloNurse - You'd be surprised how many of us can do days, even weeks at a time perfectly on track, excersize on track and the scale stay steady for WEEKS, and seemingly overnight drop 2-4 pounds. No we didn't 'lose' it overnight, we stayed on course and didn't let the scale knock us off balance. Eventually the body releases what it was holding on to just in case there's a famine we're putting it through. Don't hate on your whoosh fairy, enjoy the 1 lb loss, celebrate it and work on the next :D

I just started getting back on track Monday, so I will be seeing a few whooshes ( hopefully) this week... then I will REALLy have to work for it!

Ate on plan yesterday and went to the gym last night. Tonite... zumba! I don't know what it is about zumba ( yes, I'm late getting on the band wagon) but it just makes me feel so psyched about life when I'm done!! ( and sore! hehe)

I'm feeling a bit better today. I didn't wake up with my ears plugged up today, so that must be a good sign. I've been trying to stay "good" while sick. I haven't eaten anything off program, but instead I've been doing some meal replacement bars and drinks. :: shrugs :: I just don't have the energy to cook.

I got my new scale yesterday! I think I'm in love! It's so sleek and I love the color of it! I'm going to bring it to the center to see how it compares to the number on their scale. I really liked what the scale said this morning, so we'll see......

I'm still behind on my goals. Oh well. Next week I'd really like to get into "fat burning" again.

Last week was rough with my grandson breaking his arm and all the hassle we had with getting his cast (and getting it cut off and then replaced) - I turned to chocolate a few too many times. So, I've always been kind of afraid to weigh myself on a daily basis. I know myself well enough to know that daily weigh-ins could lead to bordering-on-unhealthy obsession, but I've never actually tried it. If nothing else, this will be good experiment. If I find myself fixating on the little fluctuations to much, I'll just stop. :)

The scale is up almost 5 lbs in 2 days (Wednesday morning I was 231.6, Thursday 235.2, today 236.4). I feel so bloated and swollen. My hands are swollen, my belly feels swollen. Ugh. I haven't had a green smoothie (or any smoothie) since Tuesday morning - I wonder if that has anything to do with this. I have had more carbs and sodium than usual but don't think I've gone over calories by much, if any. So annoying. (TMI warning - I haven't had a good "movement" in a few days or more either). I thought sure I would hit the 20s by Monday - ha ha. The next 3 days I need to drink lots of water, lots of green smoothies and have very little carbs.

And yesterday I bought myself a dress for Easter. A size 14 (amazing). It's a little snug, but I have 45 days until Easter. The size 16 was too big in the arm area.

I too am feeling a little bloated today. I'd like to drop another pound by monday so I hope it goes away soon. I'm thinking I might have a tiny bit of coconut oil today so we'll see what happens.

I've had to drop out of this thread for now. I am staying with family for a couple of weeks due to some extenuating circumstances. The relative I'm staying with doesn't own a scale. I thought about buying one to bring with me, but I figured (1) I don't really need two scales and (2) I can't leave it there when I go, because if this person wanted a scale she would buy one. So I decided to keep up with counting calories and exercising, and checking in here, but I won't be weighing for the rest of the month. I'm actually excited to see what progress I make, and what NSVs I can accomplish, if I don't have that number to obsess over. This could be enlightening, and I'm going to embrace it. Worst case scenario, it's only two weeks in the big scheme of things.

I just have to remind myself: if I do the right things, weight will come off whether I can measure it or not.

Oh! *headdesk* there is a whole discussion going on in here! I've just been recording my weight and leaving again, lol!

Anyway... Nice to meet you all :) I'm Shiv. I started Feb at 202 (I think), goal is 192, current is down to 196, but 197 today as I did a whole load of strength training yesterday (top half and back yesterday, bottom half and front today). I want to get to my mini-goal of 175 for mid-may in time for my birthday, and 192 by the end of feb would keep me on track for that. It does feel a little ambitious, another 5lbs in under 2wks, but I've looked at my graph so far and... it's possible. Will just keep on keeping on.

Hope you're all doing well this month :)

Joining this thread has been a great reminder that I (personally) shouldn't weigh myself every day. I start agonizing, obsessing, and worrying if I see a number stay the same or not go down fast enough. I think 1 - 2 times per week will be plenty for me to stay on track and monitor progress.

I think I'll finish out February, but for my own good everyone should make sure that I don't sign up for another month of daily weighing! ;)

kaebaka, I can feel a little obsessiveness starting in myself too. I sometimes find myself weighing at night and in the morning. I like the daily accountability, but I don't want to be a slave to my scale...

In good news I made my goal this morning of 8 pounds down yay!! I'm hoping I can squeeze in another 1 or 2 by the end of the month, but if I don't I'm happy I made a goal and was able to meet it.

I switched scales. Got a new one so I'm just going to eat the 2 lb gain as this one is way more accurate and meshes perfectly with my scale up here at work. Eh, I still have a week to make goal and TOM is coming up so my body is going into sponge mode!

I get obsessed with the scale too, but I'm going to weigh every day anyhow so might as well track it. I know I shouldn't, and I really only let the number on Mon's be the "official" weight as that was my WW's weigh in day. If I lose between Mon - Mon I'm satisfied in the long run.

This month has been discouraging as I got sick and derailed myself for three days and then Valentine's day. I didn't really cheat much on V-day though and I did lose 3 lbs last week. Small victories I guess and WW's keeps fussing at me for losing too fast. As did my Dr.... It's just a lb over what they suggest though so not worried about it.

Either way, LOVE MY NEW SCALE. It's an EatSmart that measures body fat percentage, total water weight, muscle percentage, and bone density. The other scale was Eat Smart too, but only did weight. I weigh in the morning for weight and in the evening now for the percentages. I think this means I'm more obsessed LOL.

I'm stalling at 200... In attempt to ward off a regain I'm taking a maintenance break in the 196-200 range. My goal was 192 but that just isn't gonna happen right now. Pretty bummed about it, but I feel like I just need to somehow reassure my body that it doesn't need to go into fat storage mode (if that even exists). Focussing now on letting my body tell me when it wants to get back down to 196 and beyond by getting more exercise, eating well, staying happy... I'm not out of the game by a long shot, just frustrated at feeling like I'm flogging a dead horse.

Not much to say on my part. Usually my "breaks" are brought on by things like overtime or Christmas Holidays. But it just makes sense to me. You take a holiday from work so you don't burn out, why shouldn't you take a break from dieting.

When I started dieting though, I did read this article and it helped me understand that it wasn't the end of the world if I took a break:

I'm looking forward to me official WI today (I will be more then last WI), but I want to know my number so that on Saturday I can visualize my consultant saying, "Deanna, AWESOME, # pounds down since Tuesday!!"

Don't know what will happen on Saturday with TOM approaching though.

I really need to start doing this again!! Well, posting it, for accountability. It's amazing how merely typing in the daily weight with a bunch of gals (and gents) cheering you on helps keep you on track. I already knew this, mentally and emotionally but its tough to remember motivation waxes and wanes, it's persistent forward motion that keeps the scale dropping.

February hasn't been a stellar month for me (lost and gained the same few lbs over and over), but hopefully March will be better. I just realized that I'm 15 lbs away from having lost 100, and 20 lbs away from no longer being "obese." Maybe I'll be able to hit those milestones in April... :)

Ended the month with a 1.8 lb loss, and I struggled for every bit of every ounce of that loss. I got depressed, discouraged and exhausted battling to stay in the 225 range and finally started listening to my body. I thought I'd eliminated most gluten, turns out some of my safe foods, like rice, was being manufactured in the same factory that deals with wheat. Once I eliminated that brand of rice, my body healed and we're back on track. Just a reminder, this is real for me, with real results both for the positive and towards the negative, and I must be vigilant when grocery shopping.

Hope you ladies and gents had an awesome February, let's storm into March and see what we can accomplish

February was an interesting and fun month. I was a bit too relaxed on my diet, really. We had Super Bowl- and I went to a party. Then I had a cold for a week and battled with facing the cold reality that I am a comfort eater. We then went right into Valentine's Day and then my birthday. I also drank my fair share of beer this month and had a few servings of onion rings. So with all that said and done- I am really pleased with a 8.4 pound loss. AND I'm in a NEW decade!! HOORAY!!!

Goodbye, February! Thanks for being kind to me!

Yay, I'm happy with my results, I beat my goal of 8 pounds. Even though some of my daily calories allowance was made up of cupcakes, burgers & peanut m&ms.

For March I'm going to try to eat cleaner and see if that pushes my weight loss up a little bit.

Yikes, that's not very impressive! Of course, the above stats don't really tell the whole story. I've been back up to 199.6 and down to 192.2 during the course of the month, and it was rough sailing. I stayed OP with just a few planned "free" meals, and have been working out daily for two weeks. Hopefully my losses will be a bit more consistent in March!

This includes at least one blow-out day where I consumed over 3000 calories (much of it in alcohol), and didn't care how much I ate. (and at least one day of hangover where I didn't much want to eat anything at all... )

Ok, here goes...

I HATE EVERYTHING!

Nah, it's frustrating, certainly, but I'm just starting to learn my own lifetime diet. I went from 201 to 196 to 204 back to 201 again. It has been a VERY stressful month. I've been doing the emotional eating thing more than I realise. I'm going to continue with IE as my "base" plan (because I love it so much!) but as of today I've added tracking on MFP, for cals, and low-carbing. This is where I always settled on IE without the emotional eating, so I figure I must just need to give myself a bit more structure. If I only have 1400cals to play with, I'm much more likely to spend them on something awesome, like a lovely salmon fillet, or sweet pointed peppers, raw with home made tzatziki.

Onwards and (I hope...) downwards! I seem to have a problem breaking 196, so THAT is my main goal for March, though to be honest, I'm shooting for 190.

/end hating everything
