I'm in! I was thinking that I needed to have something to keep going with after Valentine's Day. Even though the final WI day will be few days after the fact, I'm going to be thinking of this as a beginning of Spring Challenge and I created a lovely new ticker in its honor!

My goal is 231, which gets me to my first 10% loss. I weigh in on Sundays.

Sounds like a great challenge! I read this recently about the Spring season, " According to the Celtic tradition, which is based solely on daylight and the strength of the noon sun, spring begins in early February and continues until early May."

So, April, I agree- this sounds like a lovely spring challenge. Goodness knows that if this weathers keeps up in Colorado- it will continue to feel like Spring!

Hello, this is perfect for me as it gives me motivation to get down to my "usual" highest weight of 230. (I'm a yo/yo dieter and I'm at my one and only heaviest ever right now)

Kim, I have no doubt that you will tear it up during this challenge. I love seeing your weight drop on an almost daily basis!

I was thinking about your siggy... And I think that you will actually get to the moon and back, almost exactly. Here is how I see it: It's 238,857 miles to the moon. If you cut that many calories- you'll lose about 68 pounds (3,500 calories in a pound). So that takes you to the moon and back! Enjoy the journey!!

Hi all! I am rejoining the site after straying away. In 2010-2011 I lost 60ish pounds over about 8 months, and then I gained back 50 pounds over the next year and a half.

This month I have recommitted to getting healthy again and I would like to join the challenge to help motivate myself! I weigh in on Sundays.

In addition to dropping pounds / getting fit, I am super pumped about generally getting my life "ordered". I spent all morning looking at personal finance apps so I can keep track of my spending better; I'm sure one of the side effects of watching what I eat and cutting back on calories will be some savings on food, since up to very recently I used to eat out for lunch almost every single day...and a lot of evenings too.

I also got an app for my phone called Out of Milk and catalogued everything in my pantry. I'm hoping that will make it easier for me to remember what ingredients I have and come up with some tasty recipes!

I had planned that today would be a rest day but I am feeling kind of motivated to go to the gym anyway. Especially since I finally got some headphones yesterday so I can listen to music while working out again!

too funny about the 8 weeks. I had 8 different WI dates so I didn't look at the calendar. I'm already doing an April 1 challenge, with a slightly lower goal. so I am going to keep this one the same for myself and finish it up on March 24 and then have one more week to meet my 4/1 goal for the other challenge.

Plus these are both important goals for me - this challenge goal gets me to my first 10% loss, and my goal for the other one is to get into the 220s!!

It looks like everyone is doing really well so far, I think just about everyone has posted a loss!! That's awesome, we are all going to greet Spring with happy faces in smaller bodies!!

Hi everyone, just to say, sorry I'm gonna have to bow out of this challenge for a while as the diet I chose is causing me to get stressed. I was on Atkins which has worked really well for me before, but I'm really craving the carbs which calm me down a lot. I'm just going to try to maintain or lose really slowly right now (have been binging), but I might join you next month for 4 weeks if I can get my diet in order. Hope you all do well and reach your goals, I'll check in on you guys later. I'm off to the Chicks in Control board to see what they have to say!

I have been working out 3-5 days a week since Sept and I have cut out all red meat, eating more Vegs, and drinking water instead of my favorite sweet tea. The scale has not moved. What do I do?

Some background info - breast cancer 3yr survivor & recently cardiac arrest put me in the hospital last yr due to chemo. My drs are not concerned about weight loss but I am.

Ok, now that I have 2 other challenges the finish on April 1, I'm going to go ahead and just add that extra week to this one and change my ticker goal weight. Seems silly to have 2 tickers ending 1 week apart! lol!

There are like three challenges that are pretty much the same. :: shrugs :: So I'm keeping one "spring" ticker.

So far I'm pretty pleased with my progress. I just love the scale doing in a downward direction. As long as I'm moving forward- it's a win!
