Lost 2.2lbs yesterday, so less than 2 lbs away from 40lbs loss. Also realized that I'm at about the weight that I was before children. My oldest just turned 9, so that's a long time! Another 20 lbs, and I'll be at my weight at the end of university, which was 16 years ago!

My coach yesterday also mentioned some kind of subscription from IP for $29 (I think) that sends you daily video clips. She couldn't get it to work, but I'll see it next week. Has anyone heard of this? Is it worthwhile?

Have a great day everyone!

I'm looking forward to a nice quiet weekend. Nothing planned so far so I'm hoping to do a couple small projects in the house. Maybe a little IP baking too, it's been a while since I baked anything with the packets. Rainbow's scone recipe will be the first thing I make, followed by some zuchini muffins.

Good morning all! I'm feeling rather skinny today! :) Does anybody else get those days where you just feel skinnier than the day before???

I'm so happy I have that going for me today because I really need it... my scale isn't getting me to the 170s that I wanted to see by tomorrow. Who knows... a miracle could occur!

I fit into a pair of jeans this morning that weren't fitting two weeks ago... the smallest jeans I own (Old Navy size 10 - gotta love that vanity sizing)! I cannot wait until I have to buy smaller jeans!

Happy Friday All! May today be awesome and OP!

1littestar I love getting so close to my goals. I get so excited! I heard about those videos but they are online as well for free! I'll PM you.
to be healthy it feels fantastic to take care of ourselves. I was so involved with taking care of others and put myself last so taking care of me took some getting used to but I will never put myself last again. Another IP lesson that I have learned.
LOOONG week for me as I went back to work part time after my knee surgery. I made it though and feel great. Now I have a 4 day weekend and I can move! I need some retail therapy!!!! My work wear needs some updating to clothes that fit

Good Morning Ipeeps,
A few inch blanket of snow again this morning in Upstate NY, only 19 degrees, but the sun is out and it is pretty!

Great NSV's and scale victories. I know I shouldn't weigh in except weigh in days, but my loss was 0.2 lbs on wednesday, I took a peek this morning and another 2.2 lbs was gone, but will wait for official WI next wednesday. I am finally on the "better" side of this flu

Yay for the loss. Doesn't it feel good? My coach offered 1 month free of the videos. They are good & informative but definitely not essential.

Sounds like you're due for a whoosh fairy visit! I hope she visits me on Monday...3.9 would put me into onderland :)
But...we have a birthday-weekend planned for hubby. Dinners out tonite and tomorrow nite and also a Monday (holiday) date-day (but that is AFTER WI. Dinners out are not a problem, but you never exactly know what is in something if you don't make it at home!

[QUOTE=mrskuby;4595801]How good does that feel to have lost so much so easily?? Great job!

Thanks everyone!!

I have so many different feelings about having lost so much, so fast and easily: happiness, proud, but also a bit of trepidation and self-doubt, as to whether or not this is really happening, whether it will continue, and whether it will stick once I go through the other phases. I am incredibly grateful that I have found this board for inspiration and support, but it does feel a bit unreal. I am trying not to worry too much about the future, but those nagging feelings of doubt do creep in.

Great job littlestar, heard about the clips, not sure if they are worth it, thought canadians had access but not the US folks

I'm not really sure about these clips either. I get so much information about IP on these boards, and like others, some that I've relayed to my coach before she found out about it (e.g. the peanut soy puffs being discountinued, the tomato/basil rotini, etc.). But I'm also open to anything that will help support me through this journey.

Yesterday at weigh in, was a good day. It was a lower weight loss than others, but two goals accomplished. First, I met my mini goal and weigh less than my hubby, that feels awesome. But, I finally reached ONEDERLAND!!!!!!! Never thought that I would be able to accomplish this. On so many diets in the past I would hit a wall at around 220, and never make it below that. I am just so thankful for having found this diet and this site. I now have passed the half way mark, and just have to keep on keeping on. Have a wonderful Friday everyone.:carrot:

Does anyone watch the foodnetwork show "chopped" where chefs get "mystery baskets" of ingredients and must make a meal course? I would LOVE to see a chopped using IP packets and with the requirement that all dishes be on protocol. Some of the folks here would kick b*tt in that competition!! Though I think I'd have to put my money on RAINBOW :D
:D

Nola, I love Chopped!! I think Lizrr would give Rainbow a run for her money! LOL

ok....had to go find out what chopped was all about!! watched it yesterday for the first time!! whoa!!! they had some off the wall ingredients!! i never even heard of rabbit escabeche!!! but that chocolate covered blue corn chip looked good!! liz would certainly be the ultimate winner on that show!! but i'd have loads of fun anyway!!!

Nice to meet you Sandra. I'm another new face to you, but welcome back!

NSV today - fitting into ladies size 18 jeans today. This really is a mini-goal marker for me. I know to some it sounds like a big size, but being a large woman all of my adult years size 18 seems very "normal" size to me. I should try on my honeymoon dress from 29 years ago.... hmmm... bet I'm getting close to fitting into it. Haha - when it does, DH is taking me out in it!

I do have days I feel slimmer even before I put on cloths or check the scale. It's weird how that happens. Anyway the tight squeeze into these jeans is gone, and while snug, they really do fit! I have never considered even poking my nose into Old Navy thinking they would all be too small sizes. Maybe when I hit the ladies 16's I'll do it just to try on stuff :) I have about 5 pair of 16's or smaller sizes waiting for me (gifted from my sister) so I don't need to buy anything - but trying things on would be fun. I am down 3 lbs this week :carrot:

Nice NSV! And you should definitely check out Old Navy. I'm heavier than you, but I fit into their size 18 jeans and L/XL tops. They have lots of cute clearance stuff. Not necessarily the best quality, but they definitely have cute clothes that won't break the budget when you are dropping sizes quickly. Right now I'm sort of in between a lot of the sizes of pants/jeans/suits in my closet (I was a size 14/16 and L top for a long, long time), and I don't have a ton of pants/jeans at this size. So, between Old Navy and Kohl's (another place with decent quality clothes and lots of sales), I've found a lot of good temporary clothes.

I was having some reaction to some of the products - mostly the soups and I realized that it is mainly the products that have the Soy protein isolate in it. I'm ok with staying away from these that...but wonder if anyone else has any issues with the soups (mushroom, leek or chicken), the wildberry yougurt drink, ready made chocolate or vanilla drink? About 5 minutes after I eat I get a lot of bubbles and gurgling in my stomach and I end up in the bathroom soon after...

I am able to eat the broccoli soup without any issues but I don't know what that has in it...It's not listed in the link I found. Does anyone have a list of ingredients that is readable? I can't see the lists that are 6 to a page.

Well, I stayed home today to get some work done. What a mistake! I have absolutely no attention span for working and have been in the kitchen making things I have never made before like kale chips and zucchini/crispy cereal/drink muffins. I had an expected lunch and ate half of them. I can't wait for the rest of the family to try the kale chips, they will love them. Usually when I buy "new" to me ingredients I let them rot in the fridge and then throw them out. Good for me I made them into chips first.

I love that everyone is getting into smaller sizes. I just put on my new smaller pair of jeans too. I needed to wash the other pair since I am only down to a few things I can wear. OH such problems to have! Usually it is because everything is too small not too big. So in the interest of avoiding my work I started to clean out my closet of clothes never to be worn by me again, and do laundry, and wash the bedding. How do I talk myself into these things...

Now I am going to clean up the kitchen and get to my real work...

I hope everyone has a great IP day!

Has anyone else had this issue?

http://www.plainprotein.com/ has ingredients listed for products

50 lbs goooooone!

AND, I squeezed into a pair of size 18 Old Navy Diva jeans! AND it's Friday!
!

YAY!! So Excited for you!

Awesome achievement! You should be so proud of yourself!

I am in week 2 and I am down 12lbs!!!!! yay!!!!! :carrot::carrot:

Congratulations!! Keep up the great work.

I just finished my strawberry wafer. :( I love those. I'm so sad when its gone. I feel better today. maybe this virus is on its way out! I've been thinking i need to get a different doctor to look at my thyroid and adrenal issues. I don't feel like they are being addressed as well as they need to be and I'm shocked at how I could sleep 10 hours or more if left alone. This weekend i plan to sit in the sun for a while. (Bundled up because its freezing here!) And I'm going to make those chocolate zucchini cookies i saw in here - YUM! Have a great day everyone!

Incredible! Congratulations!
My coach yesterday also mentioned some kind of subscription from IP for $29 (I think) that sends you daily video clips. She couldn't get it to work, but I'll see it next week. Has anyone heard of this? Is it worthwhile?

I have this right now as a free trial and I canít say I would pay $29 for it but I got my Phase 1 "taboulleh" recipe from one of the videos and I got quite a few breakfast recipes today and posted them in the recipe section.

Now that I think about it, that video is for people who don't have a community like this board that supports, motivates and educates you. I sometimes hear things that I have already learned here or through researching the diet. They are very short..maybe a minute or two.

Congrats on the loss!

Ali

Woot Woot!

I love Penny's too. I get the Worthington Modern Fit Trousers to wear for work. Since they are only $22 regularly, I get 2 pairs of black one's whenever I need a smaller size. If they are on sale, I splurge and get another pair in a different color. I don't want to spend a lot of money on clothes that I only get to wear for 1-2 months.

Ok, so here is what I did today.
There is a desk that I have to walk past multiple times a day that has a very tempting candy dish on it. I have been very good about keeping my hands full so that I can't grab some as I go by but today I filled the candy dish with candy I don't like! The lady who sits at that desk, say " oh, you don't have to" and in my mind I said, " oh yeah, I do" And I will continue to do as such until the candy dish is no longer there.

Whoo-Hoo!! PC time in the afternoon!!! About 20 minutes before I left work I started chomping on a baby Butterfinger, but ended up spitting it out and throwing it away. Today is a particularly hungry day today, but am filling up on healthy items!

Good Morning Ipeeps,
A few inch blanket of snow again this morning in Upstate NY, only 19 degrees, but the sun is out and it is pretty!

It is finally warming up to 60 degrees! I was starting to get freezed out of my running group this week, it is not as fun hitting the treadmill (actually skipped out on Thurs "dreadmill date"). Although I do love snow and miss my weekends in Killington, VT!

ok....had to go find out what chopped was all about!! watched it yesterday for the first time!! whoa!!! they had some off the wall ingredients!! i never even heard of rabbit escabeche!!! but that chocolate covered blue corn chip looked good!! liz would certainly be the ultimate winner on that show!! but i'd have loads of fun anyway!!!

LOL...ummmmm Rainbow dear -you but you are definitely the resident gourmet chef! I can be a judge - I would love to taste test all your yummy creations!

Someone recently asked me what the reward for minigoal #5 is.
I think mani/pedi/massage will be in order :)

Sounds like a great plan.

Congrats, amazing weigh-ins! :)

Great NSV!

Thanks Ali! I will definetely ask for a free trial before deciding. I agree that it sounds like it would be helpful if we didn't have these boards!

Hi Everyone -

Great losses and NSV's!

I got weighed at my clinic today and was down 2.8 .

After they used the body mass calculator thing my coach was upset because my fat % went up and my lean mass went down. My hydration was up slightly. This has happened another week also. My coach is perplexed.

She said it could be from only 3 things: too much excercise: waiting too long to eat: or eating something that is not on the phase 1 sheet.

I am not excercising at all; the longest I have gone between meals or snacks is 4.5 hours; I have really been trying to keep this as close to 4 hours as possible and I have not eaten anything that isn't on that sheet. I measure my veggies cooked and weigh my meat.

I am starting to get concerned. Has any one else experienced this? I have lost approximately 36 lbs of fat and 22 lbs of lean mass according to their calculations.

Any insight or ideas would be appreciated.

I am telling you those scales are not accurate for things like water and fat, I worked as a scientist for 25 yrs and the only accurate %fat is calipers and immersion and if the fat is not accurate, neither is the H2O. DON'T worry about it, go by lbs lost and inches lost.

I agree, those aren't accurate ways to measure fat and/or water.

However, one thing that stuck out at me is that you measure your veggies cooked...they should be measured raw in a measuring cup, meat measured raw on a food scale.

Thank you.

Maybe I am eating more veggies than I should be. At least once a day I eat cucumbers so I know they are ok . But from now on I will measure the ones that I cook when they are raw.

Adding to the size victories today, this week I was able to wear to work the size 10 pants I bought a few weeks ago--and I also wore size medium shirts. I'm just about 3 pounds from Normal weight which just seems incredible to me.

Two things.

First, those scales are wildly inaccurate. The most accurate methods for measuring lean mass/body fat % involve a LOT more than just a scale. All the scales do is guesstimate your body fat % and then attempt to calculate lean body mass based on that somewhat random number. The usefulness is in tracking trends, only because they use the same calculations every time - but that doesn't mean the information is solid.

Second, we lose 1lb lean mass for every 4lb of weight lost. That lean mass includes skin and all the connective tissue that is no longer needed as we lose fat and our bodies change shape. So it is COMPLETELY normal to lose Lean mass when losing large amounts of weight, otherwise we'd all be walking around looking like saggy balloons :)

hello Just wanted to post, i posted once a few weeks ago but ive been reading through old IP threads so I havent been checking in Realizing i really need to do that to help stay on track. I have been doing for about 4 weeks although I have issues with blood sugar and have had some really stupid incidents that caused me to eat off plan because of hypoglycemia. You live and you learn but it has been maddening because they are things that wuldnt throw other people off. ie certain supplemtents or even whey protein alt products can cause my blood sugar to do weird things. Anyway I am down 10.6lbs took me 3 weeks to get that off then I got sick and have been struggling a bit. My goal is to get to 136, I am at 162.4 lbs now. I was SO hungry today and ate extra beef but this is the first day I have had insane hunger.

Have you thought about looking into the Alternative Phase 1 protocol? I don't mean using non-IP products, I mean the IP PHase 1 protocol designed for diabetics and people with hypoglycemic issues. It may be worth checking into.
