# General Diet Plans and Questions - 215lbs how many calories are you eating?

just curious how many calories anyone around my weight and height are eating a day and having a decent weight loss a week? also if there is an accurate calculator other than what myfitnesspal offers that i could go by.

myfitnesspal says i should eat 1640 cals a day but im eating less than that a day since 1640ish doesnt help me lose enough weight a week anymore.trying to eat under 1400 a day and i also walk 30-60 mins every night. and i dont eat the extra calories i burn from walking.

I'm just starting to figure this out, also on my fitness, keeping it between 1500 and 1700 for now.

I'm using SparkPeople to track and the range they gave me was 1280 - 1630. I think the 1630 is a little too high so I'm trying not to go over 1500.

I eat about 1350 cals a day, I'm 5"5' and weigh approx 217lbs

just remember 3500 calories = 1lb. Don't cut too much more, but it is safe to say you can cut 500 from your recommended daily intake to lose 1 lb a week. Make sure your meals are healthy and you're getting a balance of foods as you have less variety with less calories.

I am nowhere near your height (6'3), at around 200, with a goal of 160-170. Noom suggests I eat in the realm of 1700 a day. I'm not sure if this helps but It's kind of interesting that our caloric goals are so close...

I use "lose it" app and it has me at around 1600 cals per day for me... I have been on it for one week and today was my weekly weigh in and I have lost 5 lbs, probobly mostly water but who knows, and 5 lbs is 5 lbs to keep me motivated :)
