I weigh in weekly for a program I participate in, and use that for my official ticker weight, but it's in the evening - fully dressed! I'd really like to hit 100lbs lost (by my home scale) by Jan 4 -- that's the one year point for me. But, I'll take it whenever it comes. I'm getting close!

Diana, how was your cruise?

The trip itself was very rough. We went through 70 MPH winds and 12+ ft. waves. DH and I both took the maximum dosage of Bonine. I didn't have any issues but he was nauseated and had vertigo the entire time. He had been on 2 previous cruises, been on a trawler, and goes fishing on a regular basis. I couldn't believe how bad off he was. I have never seen that man so glad to get home from a vacation in my entire life. I had fun even though he had issues. I did a deep water dolphin swim excursion in Atlantis, Nassau. It was absolutely amazing and one of the high points of my life. When we got back home DH saw a commercial for Atlantis. They had a special on flights/rooms. He commented that he wanted to FLY back there one day. So Nassau was a positive experience for him. He was also feeling better when we were in Nassau. I can't see us as taking another cruise, though. I did make the most of it and had fun.

Kris (MamaP) Good to see you posting again.

I did okay yesterday, but not great. Much improved, but still not great. I will be glad when I look forward to stepping on the scale again. I remember the excitement when I knew I was doing everything like I should and couldn't wait until time to weigh. Hoping I get back to that place soon.

Things I know I need to do (or not do) today and every day:

Water, Water, Water
Some sort of exercise
No cheating!
Check in with 3FC - be accountable, be supportive
Count Calories - log my food and watch my carb intake

When I first started this journey (before my several detours), I didn't put anything in my mouth that wasn't accounted for and I didn't have anything that was a trigger food for me (sweets, chocolate, carbs). I was diligent. There was no "cheating." If I am ever going to reach my goal weight or be healthy I need to become that diligent again. I am so tired . . . exhausted . . . all the time. Even though I'm still fighting some serious depression and I am still fatigued from a bad case of pneumonia a couple of months ago, I know if I were to take better care of myself - watch my diet and get some exercise - I would feel better. I am so tired of the tears, pretending to the world that I'm fine, when in reality I'm barely functioning . . . time to be proactive and take an active role in life and start taking care of myself.

Kris I can relate. Hang in there. It will get better. I have vowed for things to get better for me, this year, too. I am tired of having issues with things. I am tired of drama. I want to move on. I want to feel better. No one can take care of this but me (with the help from above). You have it in you to get through this. Take one step at a time and make it happen for yourself.

Thank you so much for the compliments about my pictures. You know how to make a girl feel good. starbrite A teenager? I love that! :D There were 3 young couples sitting at the dinner table with us in one of the links. It's funny, I am old enough to be their Mom, but I feel young like them. :D Although, I wouldn't consider fighting with the jet ski or going parasailing. That's where my age and maturity comes it. Ha Ha I may call it age and maturity, but let's get real. I just don't want to get hurt and have to deal with healing. I will stick with my little dolphin, than you very much! :D

Stars I've missed this place. Will fill in the last 2 years or so in another post, but basically was trucking along awesomely, got sidelined by a broken right leg and broken left elbow, at the same time. Met a guy, fell in love, had a baby and here I am. I started here at 289+ pounds, last official weigh in was 198. Here I am, 2+ years and an 8 month old later, weighing in at 238. Ugh. I chose not to weigh in -officially- at the 1st of the year, I didn't want it to be a resolution, instead, I just want to be back on track and chugging towards goal.

My 8 month old had tubes put in his ears today, I didn't sleep at all last night. Minor surgery, I know, but he's my baby. Still OP, even avoided the lovely nurses spread of sweets, deep fried, breaded, sugared carbs they lay out for the parents. Sipped on my smoothie and gulped coffee.

Job interview with the state this afternoon, hopefully...something in my closet will fit. Ugh. Wish me luck ladies!

My new BodyMedia arm band came today. I wore one when I first started losing weight and it was so helpful and motivating. I ordered a new one because the technology has changed and it can be synced to my phone (and they are soooo much cheaper now). I also got myself a badly needed freezer on Sunday so I can plan and prepare meals and such ahead of time. And . . . . I ordered a new blender (Blendtec) so that my green smoothies will actually be smooth. lol.

Going to lunch today with my daughter for my birthday, but I've already checked the menu and planned my lunch so that I'm on program. No more mistakes like I made on Sunday - went to lunch with my son & his girlfriend and ordered what I thought was a healthy choice (a veggie burger) - looked it up when I got home and was shocked that it was over 800 calories and over 60 grams of carbs.

Yesterday was my birthday. Even though I didn't exceed my daily calories by very much I definitely exceeded my sodium and carbs with 2 meals out (dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse). I'm not concerned about the increase - hopefully I'll see the scale move the other direction soon.

Ang- How is your son and how did the interview go?

Mama- How are you liking your BodyMedia arm band? Does it track calories burned?

Newme- My scale at home is also slightly crazy. If I move it over by an inch- it will say I’ve gained or last two pounds. Silly. Although this morning it kept giving me the same number. So that must be a good sign.

Susie- 8.4 pounds?! FANTASTIC!! Keep up the great work! Are you following any particular plan?

Mama- How are you liking your BodyMedia arm band? Does it track calories burned?

I love it. I am sooooo much more focused on what I'm eating and how much I'm moving when I use it. I bought one in April 2010 and wore it faithfully for about 6 months. I was actively losing weight. It was one of the many things I discontinued when I lost my focus. I absolutely think it is worth the money and they have come down in price a lot. I got a new one through drugstore.com and it was only $109. If you decide you want one be sure to do an online search for coupon codes and to find the best deal.

I think the information it provides is priceless. It tracks calories burned, steps taken, minutes of activity and hours slept. You have to have an online subscription to track your info (and you can input and track your food), but it's only $7 a month and you get the first 3 months free with purchase. I learned that I burn fewer calories than the "average" for my age, weight, activity level. It's a great motivator and so worth it. :carrot:

I did really good yesterday (except according to my food tracker I had too much sodium again). I stayed within my calorie range and even did 30 minutes of Just Dance. :dancer: It's been a long time since I even attempted to exercise so that's good. Being accountable makes a world of difference. I need to never leave 3FC again!

My new blender is supposed to come today. I'm really looking forward to that. There will be some serious smoothie making happening in my house! :)

Lunar: he acts like nothing happened, he's still digging in his ears and he can clearly hear better, but from all appearances, he's feeling great. Interview went well, unfortunately I won't find anything out for 2 weeks. Thanks for asking!

Susie: I weigh everyday. I have to, otherwise its way to easy to slowly work myself completely off plan. Yeah, it goes up and down, but the ups are small and the downs are steady. I can also tell when its sodium, not enough water or hormones, by looking back at my fitday and what I've eaten. Hang in there chica!

Hope everyones doing well, we had a fast and furious start this morning, went out to feed the horses and there was an extra pony in the pasture. One of the neighbours has a bunch of shetlands and his stud got loose and in our pasture, hopefully he's to short to mount our horses, because we won't be happy with a shetland/appy or shetland/paint foal. All I ask now, is they come get it before my kids get off the bus, otherwise they may mutiny!

Good morning ladies! My daughter had a sleep over with one of her besties, who is on ADHD meds and I guess her mom gives them to her at bedtime, she was up and down all night, "I can't sleep without my meds"...ugh. So, its an early start around here. Baby was up at 630, looking for his daddy. DH works 5a-5p, gets home around 615, normally if the baby is awake, hubs grabs him and they hang out together while the kids get ready for school, then we hand off. It gives me an hour or so of completely alone time, to just relax without needing to be on top of everything. So, baby was looking for his dad and I was wide awake, so the three of us got to snuggle and watch Igor in bed until the older kids got up. I had thought about taking them all to the park and letting them run wild, and if we can get chores done and dressed before the storms roll in, we still might.

It is a lot and something for you to be very proud of. I have read research saying that if you lose 5% or 10% (can't remember the exact info. :?:) of your weight that you will have a significant health improvement. Keep up the great work.

Woot!! I drank so much water yesterday flushing out the excess sodium, I seriously thought I'd be floating away. Told hubs this morning, "Lost almost a full 7 lbs since recomitting!", he was telling me job well done, my neighbor happened to be here, and says, "It's always water weight, the first 10 lbs or so", and it wasn't in an encouraging tone, just this, kind of spiteful tone, I turned to her and told her, "I don't care if it's water, fat or a good size poop, its 7 lbs that's no longer on my scale". But, she's the same woman who told me my fat/protien/carb method wouldn't work, because people can't eat like that forever. Well, we ALL eat in a combo of those, its finding that percentage that works for you. This is what worked for me to take 100+ lbs off before, and it was my own cockiness that brought some of it back on. I hunted up my old post from the mini goal forum, my before pics, I honestly have NO idea what I weighed, since I had quit looking at the scale, but I know I saw 289 lbs and got sad and comforted myself with a double western burger and large chili cheese fries from Hardees and it was 6 months AFTER that, that I began trying to fix it. I know what works for ME, and if that means I need to always calorie count, then that's what I need to do.

Susie - keep trucking lady, it'll come off as long as we keep working on it!
Kris - sodium does a number on me too, I have to drink water beyond fulfillment to flush it out.
Kim!!! You're so quiet with your losses but congrats on the scale continuing to move down! Awesome!

I made this tonight with my Blendtec blender. I added 6 ounces of rotisserie chicken and a can of black beans (no corn) and didn't add the tortilla chips (the nutritional info below is, I'm sure, based on the basic recipe). It is delicious. I am stuffed and very satisfied.

TORTILLA SOUP
A great soup for a quick supper. Pulse in corn kernels, black beans, tortilla chips or your favorite add-in for a chunky soup.

INGREDIENTS

2 Roma tomatoes, quartered
large carrot
1" slice red pepper, approximately ⅓ c
avocado
2 tbsp onion
1 ounce pepper jack cheese
2 sprigs fresh cilantro
1 tsp no-salt herb seasoning
tsp kosher salt
tsp garlic powder
2 c warm water
c tortilla chips

INSTRUCTIONS
Add all ingredients but tortilla chips to jar in order listed and secure lid. Select "Soups." Add tortilla chips, secure lid and press "Pulse" 2–3 times.

VARIATIONS
For more texture, add ingredients such as cup black beans, corn kernels, cheese, chicken, and fresh tomato. Secure lid and press "Pulse" 2–3 times or until desired texture is reached.

Lol. I even managed to get my grandson to drink a smoothie over the weekend - he had no idea it had spinach in it. He hates vegetables and refuses to even try any vegetable.

The recipe was delicious. It makes a lot so I have plenty left for 2 or 3 more meals. I gave my sister the recipe and she made it in her Ninja blender. She said she and her husband loved it. I bet it would be good with rice, but I wouldn't want the extra carbs.

Belinda - w00t!! For the scale finally moving back down!
MamaP - that recipe sounds really good, except the corn, corn does awful, wicked things to my body even though I've never been technically prediabetic or insulin resistant. I really need a food processor/blender, what I've got right now is a small shake blender. Works, just takes so much longer.

I'm heading steadily downward, my first 20 always blows by, then comes the hard word, keeping that in mind as I'm enjoying my losses, to not get discourahed, to keep doing what works and the weight will go. I'm thinking I'll be hitting my birthday goal before my birthday, which would be AWESOME! Also, I need to remember to save my weight on my official weigh in day so it can keep track of total losses during the week, so when the losing slows, I'll still see those down arrows on the days when weekly total loss is .2

I didn't add corn. I decided it wouldn't be worth the extra calories or carbs. It was delicious. I only added in (6 oz) rotisserie chicken and (1 can of rinsed) black beans. Ummmm. I'm having leftovers for lunch today. I love my new blender - it makes a smoothie in 30 seconds, the soup took 90 seconds to blend and then 2 minutes in the microwave to warm up. My sister has a Ninja (not the small one) and she made the same soup.

I am counting calories and drinking lots of water, not sure about the fiber part of the equation.

I'm steadily gaining, I know it's water weight, TOM is approaching, but still, it's frustrating. I have very bad PMS and crazy carb cravings. Only 2 more days until my official weigh-in day, doesn't look like I'll be proud of the number. Still, I'm doing the best I can, staying on plan and wait for a woosh:)

Susie84 - I'm struggling with the carb cravings as well. TOM due in 4 days and I just keep flipping a pencil around everytime I think about going to raid the fridge. And water, lots and lots of water and hot tea so I'm to full to eat.

susiemartin - remember, not perfection, just improvement, and whenever you need a virtual hand holding, you just let us know :D

Belinda - If I don't get enough fiber, it doesn't matter about my calories and water. Fiber and sleep are my 'magic' weapons. If you're using fitday you can track that specifically, I am for 35-45 grams per day.

Prepare for many comments:

Slugger- isn’t it absolutely amazing how quickly the weight can creep back on after eating poorly just for a few days? Oy! I’m going through the same thing. But you’re heading in the right direction! Make that carrot dance again!

SmallSteps- I’m getting ready to come over and kick your scale for you too! At my center, they say when women are really really struggling to lose weight that it could be because of hormone imbalances. I’ve heard that there are some nice online tests and resources for it.

Kim- Your numbers are fun to watch. They just keep dropping and dropping..Love it. What scale do you have? I want one. ;)

SusieMartin- Happy Restart! And good for you for continuing to jump on that scale while being OP.

19Delta- Have you broken free of 233 yet?

Pink Hurricane- We are the exact same weight right now! I have a feeling that you dropped this morning though and I’m going to have to run to catch up (maybe literally).

Tziri- I hope the 240s find you today!!

PacificaBee- Boo on the TOM issues. SO glad they have finally passed and you get to see that scale drop more!
Susie84- I know it’s a little late, but BRAVO about that 20 pounds. That is WONDERFUL!! Possible upcoming bummer for your official weigh-in, but I see a woosh in your future, my friend!

Thinkthin- I agree with you! Onderland is in your sights! Bring us with you!

Angihas2- Holy Geeze. Your neighbor is exceptionally rude.

Mama- Your soup looks delicious! I have a Ninja blender and will have to give it a go.

As for me, My grandmother passed away on Saturday and I decided to eat and drink a whole bunch of things that reminded me of her. So far the scale has jumped 2.5 pounds, but in my mind it was worth it. I need to up my fiber today.

I was (kind) back on plan yesterday. I've decided to roast a chicken every week, because it's SO easy and then I can use the bones for broth that week. So I took a half day off for myself yesterday. SOOO nice...And roasted my chicken. Also watched The Bachelor.

I would like to be at 229 on Saturday, but that might be asking a bit much.

thnkthin - When I did this before, the 215-210 range was the WORST. Those 5 pounds clung like leeches. Keep doing what you're doing, it'll pass. But I remember thinking, "so, is this where I stop? Whats wrong with my body that it won't let go of this fat?" Then I went back and looked, every 25 pounds or so, my body will settle in to a psuedo maintenance phase, like it has to make sure I'm not in a famine or something before it lets go and starts on the next 25 lbs. Aggrevating

Thanks everyone for the encouragement, I really needed it! I gained almost 2 pounds overnight (water weight, please, let it be water weight...). I'm up more than 3 pounds overall. I also ate some chocolate I didn't plan to eat around midnight (I couldn't take the terrible craving anymore) and I did binge a bit today but I'm still under maintenance calories and I did my exercise as planned. I know that it can't be fat gain, but somehow it's still discouraging and frustrating.

It is aggravating isn't it. I have noticed the same thing where my body holds at a certain weight, like it doesn't want to lose anymore. I recently started keeping a log of my daily weights (before I was just logging losses). I want to see if I can see a pattern and figure out if it's because of something I ate, didn't eat or exercise enough. I think it's like you said, our body wants to make sure we aren't starving before it gets back into losing mode. I always wonder if there is a trick to get it started again, whether that would be increasing calories, decreasing calories or upping the exercise. Who knows right? No one ever said this would be easy and it definitely hasn't been. :)

I actually upped my calories, not by much, up from 1400-1500 to about 1600-1800, and started zig zagging between those for a few weeks. I stayed around 1700 for 3-4 days, then dropped down to 1400, up to 1700, down to 1500, until I settled in the middle. It sounds absolutely contrary to what we've always been told, 'eat less fat, less calories', but our bodies are designed to keep us alive and constant, steady weight loss can be a signal that "oh no! famine, hang on to the fat, hang on to the fat." Great if we're in an Ice Age, but not so much now. I was thinking about this while making breakfast, how horrified my mom(a registered nurse and now a CRNA), is with the sheer volume of food I eat, while losing. All her adult life she's been on a diet in some form or fashion and it always has to do with restriction of food, certain foods, all fat, low cal, no flavor stuff. Her latest is the HcG injections and 500 calories a day. Who can live like that?!?!?! Yeah she lost 20 pounds in a month, I've lost 10 in 2 weeks and more importantly, I get to EAT

I've been doing low carb since I started this and wonder if sometimes my body gets used to it. I've thought about eating more carbs for a while then going back to low carb just to shake things up and keep my body guessing. Thing is I can eat a fatty steak and I'll lose. I think my body likes fat :) Trouble is finding that happy medium.

Angihas2- Have you tried l-glutamine for your sugar cravings? It helps me SOOO much. (I'm also trying to get to the root of my sugar cravings. A possible candida overgrowth?)

The HCG diet kind of wigs me out a little bit. You can't even exercise on it, really. You don't have enough energy. It makes me a bit sad.
Birthday sleep-over sounds fun! I used to love sleepovers as a little girl. Now I hate sharing my bed. LOL.

I work late tonight so I'm having leftover chicken. Also started a batch of kombucha this morning.

I've lost that loving feeling with the scale I have been afraid to weigh in the past two mornings due to my hate hate relationship with it.

I am leaving tomorrow and going on vacation and will be back late Monday night. I hope all the walking I do in Sedona and at the Grand Canyon will make the scale show a weight loss on Tuesday morning.

Belinda, I hope that you have a really lovely vacation! I too will be going to vacation. Andrew and I are going to a few breweries. I'm really excited and I know I need to live my life, but part of me is like, "ARG! I JUST got back on track! I don't want to derail myself again!"

Thinkthin, How did things go with increasing your water? Also- I watched another interesting video with the same doctor yesterday- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xn1cI8FNU6M
"Sugar - A Sweet Addiction"

I even think I experienced a bit of what they were talking about yesterday. Last night, I was overwhelmed with my desire for sushi. "Oh! It would make me SO happy!" Turns out...sushi didn't live up to my desires. So I ended up having a bit of popcorn and chocolate to compensate. BOO.

At least maybe if I know what's going on- I can control it a bit more. I'll also remind myself to not go to that sushi place. :-/ I also have a supplement that turns into dopamine, maybe next time that I feel, "I want, I waNT, I WANT!" I will just try a little dopamine instead.

ETA: Oh- I'm also down a pound, but I lost that pound a week ago...and a couple times this week, so it's not as exciting.

started to have a down moment since the scale went up, to mentally berate myself for having a piece of pie, but it lasted maybe 2 seconds, before healthy Angi stepped in and said, "are you going to avoid pie/cake at your kids birthday parties forever, or do just what you did? Which was plan for it, make sure you had the spare calories built up over the last few days, have a small piece and stop with that single piece? You also know it had gluten and sugar, so you drink some more water, eat some more fiber and this too shall pass". I think I like healthy Angi and her mental attitude!

I'm eagerly anticipating my official weigh-in this week. Not that it is going to be great, but it wont be a gain (I don't think).

So far the trick has been treating every workout like it's a scheduled class that I can't miss. I also have an ap on my phone called Lose it! (it's a free ap!) that I use to track everything I eat. I like to write, but I don't always have a journal on me whereas I always have my phone... I also just started this month so I chalk up some of the loss to that...

Hi Everyone

Some of you may remember what I went through last year. All of the stress and upheaval caused my thyroid to get out of whack. I have been working really hard to maintain my weight. I have not been completely successful, but I guess it could be a lot worse. Since the Summer, my Endo has had to increase my Synthroid at every re-check. Today I had another appointment.

Quick update from the Endo. My thyroid numbers are still not where she wants them to be but they have improved She wants to re-check in 4 months. I am still struggling with my weight, so I told her about my diet and exercise. I wanted to discuss this in case she thought I needed to make some changes. I told her that I normally workout 7 days a week, once in a while I have to miss a day, though. I also told her that I workout 45 minutes to 1 hour a day. She agreed that I cannot increase that any. I told her about my calorie range and that prior to this issue I was still losing in this range. I asked her if I should lower my calories some. She said "No". She said "What I want you to do is to keep doing what you have been doing all along . . and to have patience with yourself." She said that I have been very hypothyroid and my body has been through a lot this year. She also said that once my numbers are right, it still might take a little while for everything to get back in sync.

So, the Dr's advice is to keep doing what I have been doing and to have patience. :D

Well, I'm going the wrong way here as well. I attribute it to not going "potty" past few days which in turn is making me retain water. I went to Walmart last night and bought Fiber Choice tablets. I'm hoping these help. I eat plenty of vegetables and drink lots of water yet I get plagued with constipation more often than not. Anyone else have these issues?

thnknthin1~ Fiber Choice tablets may take a few days to work, but I would stick with them as they will probably help. Also, I drink one-two mugs of green tea every day and have found that it helps with my digestion (I can tell what days I didn't drink tea...). However, drinking too much tea can have the adverse effect and cause constipation, so if you decide to try drinking tea make sure you don't drink in excess... Good luck! I hope you feel better soon!

I'm hoping these tablets do the job. They definitely make my tummy cramp up on occasion. I eat plenty of vegetables, you would think I would be more regular than I am. It's crazy (and aggravating) to watch my weight fluctuate so much because of this. grrrrr :)

thnkthin - I notice I have bowel issues if I cut back to much on fiber, I aim for 35-45 per day and in the last few days, those numbers had dropped into the 25-30 range and my scale went up. Increased them yesterday and they went back down. Of course, everything had to come out first. Ugh.

Angihas2 what are your sources for fiber? Do you eat whole grains or is it mainly from vegetables? I'm doing the low carb thing so I have to rely on my fiber coming from vegetables which can be difficult to reach 25-30g.

I've never weighed-in daily like this and I'm really beginning to love it. When the scale goes down- I want to keep doing things that will continue to drive it down. And when it goes up- I'm driven to want to fix it.

As this point, the satisfaction on the scale really is better then "cheating." I hope it stays that way.

lunarsongbird ~ love what you said about daily weighing being very motivating. I know some people get too obsessed with it or let it depress them. I am like you; I use it as a way to know when I am doing something right or when I need to change or if something I've eaten isn't good for me. Keep up the great work!

Belinda ~ nice to see those numbers moving downward!! You are working it!!

Diana ~ take care of yourself! I hope you have a symptom free day today!!

Well, I knew the scale wouldn't be good to me today. TOM is around the corner so I'm already retaining water. It seems the two weeks that surround this time are always the worst weigh-ins for me. Plus, I injured my foot the other day from trying to jog outside. I don't know what I did to it, but it really hurts. I hope I don't have a stress fracture. I've been icing it along with taking Aleve and Ibuprofen. So, exercise has been the bare minimum which isn't helping with the scale.

Onederland................you're teasing me, grrrrrrr

I had 41 grams of carbs and 92 grams of protein yesterday. I am not sure what the net carbs of those 41 would be because my tracker only gives me the overall carbs (I could figure it out, but don't have time - am already running late for church). I was hoping to get more protein than that yesterday, but with being gone all day it just didn't happen.

Have a great Sunday!

I didn't eat enough calories yesterday- not even by a long shot. I should have been tracking as I went along. By the time I was going to bed, I felt really light headed, but don't worry, ladies. DH and I are going out today and I will get plenty of calories in!

I don't trust my scale entirely. I think I will get a new one on Friday. It tells me a lot of different numbers and appears to be about 2 pounds or so lighter then the one at the center. So I think I'm still down today. I'm still in ketosis though, so that's exciting! I kind of tested my limits yesterday by having a small bit of chocolate, a few crackers and a few cups of popcorn. More carbs then I've had in a while.

Up .6 today to 234.2. Super frustrating when I know I did great on calories and activity yesterday. I had a new member's class at church and they provided lunch - I stayed well within my allotted calories and stayed away from the potatoes, bread and desserts. I am sure the issue was sodium. Also, I don't drink as much water as I should on the weekends. I did pretty good Saturday, but not as good yesterday.

We'll see what today brings. Have a great day!

I don't know what my scale is doing. It shows me a lighter weight then the center- and at times it varies quite a bit even in the morning. Pay day is Friday and I want a new scale.

People seem to LOVE this one-
http://www.amazon.com/Eatsmart-Precision-Bathroom-Technology-440-Pounds/dp/B0032TNPOE/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1359382494&sr=1-1&keywords=scale

Thoughts?

It will be a test in patience though...I wont want to wait for it.

I think I'm approaching TOM, but I've never watched the scale before, so I'm not sure what TOM will do to me. During me WI today, my consultant told me that I was actually down 1.5 pounds of fat, but I was holding onto water. ::shrugs:: Better then my usual Tuesdays...I usually "gain" like...6-8 pounds.

A little bit of an upswing today so I ended the month at 235.0 . . . an 11 lb loss for the month. I really wanted a bigger loss for the month, but I'll take it. I plan on hitting the 20s in February. I know I need to put more effort into exercise and really watch the carbs. My sister is coming to town this weekend and I already know we are going to be eating at a big buffet on Saturday. Hopefully I won't do too badly - gonna try to stick to mostly proteins and salad.

Does everyone count today as your last weigh in? I used to do that and then I saw that other people were counting the 1st. I can understand counting the 1st because the 1st is a reflection of the work from the last day of the month, etc. I'm just curious about everyone's thoughts on this.

Diana I just added the 1st to mine because it fell on a Friday and I don't weigh on the weekend. So for me it was logical to include it in my weigh in for January. If the first fell on a different day of the week then no I would not include it in my weigh in for the month.

Hope that made sense lol

I guess I'll consider today as my last weigh in for the month. I really hadn't thought about it. I joined this thread after the month had started so I don't have my weight for the first of the month but I'm assuming it's close to where I started logging, so I'll say 13lbs lost for January. Has a February thread been started yet?
