30-Somethings - What is the best way to get started here?

Hi everyone! New here! I find myself here a week before I turn 34 and the absolute heaviest I've ever been...including being pregnant with my now 3 and 5 year olds:(:( I've always been able to maintain my weight reasonably until the last year or so. Been trying to blame it on everything under the sun but my new mantra is "I control what I put in my mouth...only me!" No more blaming, questioning, wondering...no more over eating! I am desperate to get my body ...and my life back! I have lost weight successfully with an online forum before but that was a much different ball game for me...20 pounds and I did it in 3 months! I know have a serious 40 pounds to lose and we'll see after that! Wht is the best way together involved and meet people? I want tone accountable and help others as well!

Hi Krissie,
I am pretty new here too. Here's what I'm doing. Post an intro and then just jump in! No one will judge you for being new. Learn from the senior members, offer and ask for support. Be honest. Read blogs. Be yourself. Chime in when someone posts something you can relate to. Look at the Goals threads and get inspired.

Congratulations on your previous loss and good luck on your future. I agree with Fluffypuppy; just jump on in! I don't post a great deal, but there are a few threads I feel comfortable sharing in. Float around, read, read, read, and jump in when you want to. 3FC is a big place. There's room for everyone. :)

Part of what helped me when i lost weight after DS (4 years ago!) was reading others' success stories. I like that about 3FC.

Welcome from another newbie! I agree that the goal thread is great inspiration, I also use the IE thread to discuss specifics of what I'm doing, there's one for every diet under the sun! I've also jumped into the alternachicks forum a few times too, it's great to meet like-minded people. And accountability threads if that helps! There really does seem to be something for everyone here and I'm really glad I joined :)
