I would love some help if anyone out there knows where I might find a free or lo-cost download/software that will help me figure out Weight Watchers points with recipes. I know WW offers it on their e-tools as Recipe Builder, but it's pricey to join and I'd have to spend the straight solid month at the computer entering recipes to avoid paying for several months. I've gotten links to point calculators from posting on a message board, but this is something that you enter the ingredients info, etc. and it calculates the points per serving for you.
Thank you so much for any help you can offer,

Hi Petra,

Unfortunately, the only commercial software that will figure out the points for you would only be available from WW. A solution you may want to consider is purchasing recipe software that figures out the nutritional values for recipes and then using a points calculator. I use Master Cook. It only cost me $19.95 at Best Buy.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.
I've heard about that software from other sources, but didn't realize it could give the nutrition info on a recipe that you entered into it. Sounds great. And what a coeinky-dinky, It's time for a birthday and I can 'justify' the expense right about now!

I have a basic formula for figuring out the WW points - it is amazingly accurate...

(calories/50) + (fat grams/12) = points in food

The only other factor is that if the food was 3 grams or more of fiber you can subtract 1 point.

Why don't you try to find a free download for Master Cook and then use serials 2000 or another free data base to get the serial # for the software. It works for lots of programs out there and hey it is totally free.
