My knee feels great today, other than still being swollen, there is no pain at all! I'll probably be back to exercising tomorrow morning. I am supposed to work the concession stand at the high school football game tomorrow evening (band parent here), but I'm not so sure about standing for 5+ hours on a concrete floor. I'll see how I feel in the morning.

Food has been really off-plan the last few days and I have not had any loss for a few weeks, so I MUST get back in the swing here!!:carrot:

Today I did The Big Burn 2 Miles of Intervals and I did the intervals a second time. I didn't have on my pedometer, but I'm quite sure that it was over a mile so I did 3 miles today.

Can I join? I had many of the WATP dvds but I lent them to a friend and never got them back. They were old so can anyone tell me if Leslie S. has any new dvds? I need to start walking again since my weightloss has slowed way way down.

There are lots of dvds on Amazon. You can get used ones pretty cheap. 2 mi. with 5lb weights this morning.

I did the 4 Mile Super Challenge today with 3 lb hand weights.

Welcome mindboggld and dorrie! I started off slow as well. There are some full videos on Youtube by the way.

So I did the 2 mi already posted plus mile 1 and 5 of walk it off and tone it up with 5lb weights and walk away your stress on the new 7 day calorie blast for a total of 6 mi. When you take off the weights the videos seem really easy. For the last 2 mi. I didn't use the weights. The new 7 day calorie blast is 7 workouts from previously released dvds. I love the walk away your stress. The music is awesome.

hey gang :wave:

i've got some stuff going on and need to talk to my fellow exercisers. i'm having some female problems and will probably have to have a hysterectomy. i go to the doctor on the 13th. she had told me back in may that i wouldn't make it much longer bec my uterus has fallen but i hadn't noticed and put it out of my mind. anyway, now all of a sudden it's bothering me :( i just figured since i was 53 and in menopause i didn't have to worry about ever having a hysterectomy LOL it's not fair to need this now ;(

i asked about exercise and they told me "walking only".

so today i used The Big Burn and did 2 miles but did not jog or do the knee lifts. i barely got winded or broke a sweat but i did it. then i did a 10 minute arm workout with 3 lb weights. kept telling myself it was better than nothing....

anyway, i'm just feeling kind of aggravated bec whenever i have to do this i won't be able to exercisie for awhile. *sigh*

mindbog & dorrie - i love all the new dvds - even better than the old stuff!! :)

annie - how is your leg?

Cathyxxx - sorry you have to have surgery. I bet you feel better afterwards though. Maybe you didn't realize you were uncomfortable until they told you what was wrong. Did that make any sense? I hope you recover fast. Try not to get discouraged about taking time off for it, soon you will be back on your feet.

I got the ultimate 5 day walk plan dvd. I did the 5 mile walk with the stretch today. I will definatly be walking more miles per day but I think I will like having the workout for each body group.
Is it just me or do you get annoyed when you are walking with her and all of a sudden she double steps and changes the leg you should be walking on? It drives me up the wall when she does that!

thanks tubolard - i do hope i feel better after the surgery! the doc had told me in may that it had fallen and i would have to have a hysterectomy but nothing was bothering me then. i told her it would wait and put it out of my mind. well all of a sudden it seems to have started bothering me. i mainly just hate to take off the time from exercise. i know people go thru this everyday and that i will be fine... thanks again!

tubolard - I completely understand where you are coming from. Then she said no worries what leg you use just use it, but when she switches without warning I would get off pace since I'm going in a different direction! Grrrrr!

Cathy-So sorry you are having to go through this. I, too, worry about the fact that I've been told that someday I'll have to have knee replacement....or like the other day when my knee acted up....and I won't be able to exercise for a long time. You would think that would help me get to goal quicker so I will be ready if/when that ever happens, but so far it hasn't. Try not to worry too much. I'm sure you will feel so much better once it's over. Depending on how they do the surgery, you might be back to it sooner than you think! Glad you checked in!

My knee is back to "normal"!

i just figured since i was 53 and in menopause i didn't have to worryCathy, I went through it between 43 and 53 and had lost of heavy bleeding but finally got through it. After ten kids I suppose it was fallen. ha. Now I don't notice that feeling and nothing done. I think everything shrinks up eventually.

36 miles as of today. I try to walk down my road a couple of days a week so I don't just walk in place, I actually stretch my legs out.

Nice! I started off walking outside, but I quickly discovered that I burn way more calories and work more muscles with WATP. If my neighbors saw me doing kickbacks, tap outs, power kicks and side steps down the street they may wonder about me. haha!

6 Miles completed today. 5 K with a Twist (with a resistance band) and the 3 Mile Heart Healthy Walk completed.

4 Fast Miles done today. I love that one - I put an extra pep in my step and burned 655 calories!

AnnieDrews - No worries dear, do what you can when you can! This time of year can be a downfall for me with all of the food and treats so I'm determined to get through it, but not completely cut things out. So for that to happen I need to workout!

I'm going to take a break from the computer this weekend so I hope you all have a great weekend!

I am going to start taking Sundays off. Starting today. I am at such a loss on what to do with myself today. I am still going to eat right, just no exercise. This is my first post. Starting the Sonoma Diet Friday but started exercising last week. Today I walked with Leslie! Did the Older Adult Walk & Firm dvd today. The case says it equals a one and a half mile walk although it did not have mile markers like her other dvds. I am not an older adult :o but wanted to ease back into exercising. LOL! Hoping to step it up next week.

This week has been so crazy for me I haven't been able to log in. I'm still working out though, but I've only logged in 18 miles this week. I've been stepping up strength-training and haven't had much energy left over for cardio.

I'm pushing to reach my goal of 100 miles this month, but as of now it's not looking too good.

I now have a bunch of new (but older) videos. It's amazing to see how some of the walkers bodies have shrunk and changed over time!

annie - i sure hope you're not getting sick! seems like everybody down in our area either has a cold or the flu or a stomach bug. yuck no body has time for that stuff ;)

oh...also, i've lost another 5 lbs (its taken a couple of months) :cheer: don't know if i can keep it off during the holidays but i'm sure gonna try ;)

Hi Cathy! Glad to hear you are doing well.

Feeling much better today. Lots of folks sick around here, too. Sometimes I feel like I am getting sick and then I don't. I honestly think that eating right (-er) and exercise and losing weight has really helped my to be healthier and fight off illnesses. Don't want to jinx myself, but I can't remember the last time I was truly sick.

Annie - glad you feel better. I hate getting sick, it seems like someone gives me something, everyone in my house gets it (except hubby who almost never gets sick, but on the few occasions he has been :bb: worlds biggest baby ever) and then I get it again worse than everyone else.

4 Fast Mile done this morning. I had a planning a rest day today, but I am so amazed with the changes in my body I decided to get another good sweaty workout in.

Glad to know you are doing better Annie. I too haven't been sick in over 10 years even when I was obese (knock on wood). I drink organic apple cider vinegar a few times per week and put a little hydrogen peroxide in my my ears with a qtip when I am going to be around sick people or if I feel like I might be coming down with something. Both tend to kill viruses in my body and both cost under $10 and lasts a lifetime. :)

The Big Burn 2 Miles of Intervals this morning and Walk This Way (2 miles) this afternoon.

I made my goal of 100 miles with WATP this month!

Looking forward to my rest day tomorrow.

2 mi. burn body fat sculpt your arms with 5lb weights, 2mi. walk it off tone it up with 5 lb weights, 2 mi walk and kick. Ahhhhhhhh I do way better breaking it up than doing the whole 6mi. at once.

carolr - How are you feeling today? Glad you could get a walk in!

I'm going to a couple of miles of the Fat Burning walk later. I wanted to take a rest day today, but I slept in and feeling great!

Sunnyside-Good job on reaching your goal!! I am shooting for 500 miles for the year on my ticker at Walk Social. I didn't start keeping track until Feb. and suspect I may have missed posting a few times, but it is nice to watch those miles stack up!

No exercise this morning, but really going to try to get one in some in tomorrow.

Taking the weekend off of exercise. I hurt so bad and I just think my body needs the rest so hopefully Monday I will be ready for the new month of work!

Strained my back this weekend so I just did an easy 1 mile walk from the 5 Day Fit Walk....1 pound weights. It's the first walk I ever did when I started back in 2010. I barely made it through that first time. So glad I stuck with it.
