I get tired much earlier than before... I haven't been in bed this early in years... But during the day I have tons of energy

Are you tired all the time?

I would give it a little more time but ultimately some people will always be lethargic on such a carb restrictive diet. You might be one of those people and therefore should be on a different diet but it might be that your body is just slower than most to adapt.

Are you taking all the supplements? This can be a problem is you're not.

What is your height/weight and are you doing any exercise? Too much exercise can cause this problem.

I get a lot of fatigue, and it seems to me that fatigue is a sign that I am going to have a good weigh in. There might not be anything to that theory, but that's how it seems to me. I drink tons of water and go to bed early when it happens, and when I can. As John said, I think this type of diet just affects certain people that way. The first two weeks were the worst for me, and after that it got a lot better, so you might get an energy surge when you least expect it!

I found myself tired early on, and I added a B50 vitamin to my regimen. It did the trick, and now I have lots of energy. That being said, like others, I go to bed early too.

Exhausted 24/7 and take naps almost every day. :-( I miss working out but I can sure see why they say not to do it in Phase 1 - I would never have the energy.

Wow. I'm the exact opposite. I have more energy than I know what to do with. I go to sleep as soon as my head hits the pillow, but I wake up 4 to 5 hours later, ready to go again. I've started exercising and can't sit still like I used to. It feels like the ultimate paradox that this lifestyle change would cause such increased energy, yet we're told not to exercise in Phase 1! I can't stop... even if it slows my weight loss, I have to move... and I'm ok with that!

I hope that you hit that energy burst as well. It gives such an overwhelming sense of well-being!

You sound like me - I was taking a therapeutic dose of iron before I started IP but I stopped. Before IP I wasn't eating red meat, but now I'm eating it around 3 times per week so I am hoping that is giving me what I need. I wonder though. . . . I used to get B12 shots too but that finally normalized for me. I also have an underactive thyroid that I'm on medication for - all these things plus no carbs makes for no energy.

My 2 cents, because of the change of light?

I don't know where you live but in Eastern Canada, sunrise is at: 7:30am (so I'm already at work) and sunset is at 6pm. It totally wrecks my sleep patterns and such!

Wait, y'all were told to not work out? I was already someone that ran a couple of days a week. My coach put me on as active, and even when I went to the workshop, the guy said that we could still work out if we did.

It slows down our weight loss if we do? I mean, I guess if I'm building muscle, I'm not necessarily losing the lbs which makes sense, even if I'm losing the fat. Anyway, I can't stop working out. I have to run. It's become something I love. (Took forever, though, like 2 years.)

Anyway, the first three days were awful and I felt tired. During the day though now, (5th day), I feel like I have a lot of energy. I might need some adderal or something, because I just want to keep on moving and unfortunately, I have a desk job where that is really not possible.

I find if I am eating more red meat I don't feel as tired but on the weeks I eat more chicken or pork I seem to be lower on energy!

I feel very tired when I am on IP. I usually am a good sleeper but when I am on IP I cant seem to wake up in the morning. Even after I get my 8 hours I feel I can keep on sleeping. My energy level during the day is moderate not too much or too little after the first week. But I have yet to experience that surge that my coach told me about

SD I am just like you! I have more energy since the second week of this lifestyle change for me! I woke up at 3:40 this morning and got up and started cleaning house (hubby was real happy with me for that one!) and just remembered that I've been up this long. I am still going strong at 2:40pm
