Default Costume Idea Help

My husband and I decided we want to dress up this Halloween. One of my best friend's moms has a huge party every year, so we are going to go. I don't know what to dress up as though! I want to wear something that will flatter my new smaller figure, but I don't want to be like skanky Dorothy, or sleazy nurse, or hooker red riding hood (nothing against them, just not my thing). It's been YEARS since I dressed up, I wouldn't mind a homemade costume, or a store bought one, I just have no idea where to even start. It seems like most of the costumes in the ads, for women, barely cover anything.

Any suggestions for some interesting/creative/fun costumes that will kind of show off my shape but still be semi/kind of modest?

1920s flapper! The dresses are wonderful from that age, with the satin or silk shift covered in fringes.

It does not have to be this short, nor would it have been at the time.

A friend of mine was Princess Leia a few years ago, the long white dress. She looked hot w/o showing skin. Another friend was a 50s housewife, if you can find one of those full skirts with a form fitting top. Go see what you can find at the thrift store, 60s/70s/80s outfits are fun too. One year I just wore a formal dress that I had with a hot pink wig and some crazy jewelry.

Mortica Adams, hugs the figure but keeps it all covered. Judging by the picture you would make a great Mortica.

I thought about being something like Audrey Hepburn/a classic movie actress after browsing around online for costume ideas. I don't know if I got the body to pull it off though. Maybe you do! Lol
