Wow, can't believe it's October already. Really enjoying Autumn here in Oklahoma. Had a wonderful rain on Saturday and the temps are where they should be, finally.

Did the 3 Mile Boot Camp w/ bands this morning. Was nice and cool in the house.

Good morning, all!

Sorry for being MIA, I have been exercising, just not coming here to record/post. Told myself I was going to 3fc FIRST today before anything else, I have to stay focused and 3fc helps me do so. So putting a post-it on the screen to remind me every morning to come here first!

No exercise done yet, and I am not sure which dvds I will do today but I am hoping to get in a walk this morning around the neighborhood, it's only 47 right now! Loving the cool, fall weather but that's a little chilly for me right now.

Sorry I haven't been around much! We had our Thanksgiving yesterday and it was nuts, but I stayed on track and did not overeat.

I've been doing the workout 5 - 6 days per week. Yesterday I did 5K with a Twist and in a couple of hours I will be doing the 4 Mile Super Challenge.

I did "Walk This Way" for the first time and liked it so much I did it twice (4 miles total). lol

I'm curious about the 8 miles too. When walking outside I can do 1 mile in 14 minutes. Just not sure if I could sustain that speed longer than 3 or 4 miles though.

So I have been tracking my miles since probably mid-Feb on the Walk At Home Facebook page and hit the 400 mile mark this morning. I know I have walked more since I didn't start until Feb. AND I know there are days I have forgotten to post, but it really is cool to see it!!:carrot:

Does anyone have trouble with balance? I notice as I get older that things like the power kicks are hard to do. I fell a couple times this year and does that ever hurt. Still doing 4 mi a day with 5lb weights.

I wanted to workout yesterday, but my body told me I needed a break so I took a rest day.

I did 4 Fast Miles this morning with 3 lb hand weights.

carolr3639 - I don't have problems with balance, but when the pace is brisk I can not power kick my leg high even when my core is engaged and I'm pretty flexible. Take it easy and try to do what you can or do another move such as tap outs instead of power kicks.

Great job tubolard! I need to count my miles for the month.

:wave: hey gang :wave: how is everybody doing? looks like y'all are walking like crazy...that's awesome!

i've still been doing tabata in the evenings bec it is all i can get in. 5 am was my time to exercise and it has been grand central station with both our guys finally getting jobs (thank you Jesus!) and sooooo I'm just doing what I can when I can.

but this morning I did 2 miles :) I used the new 4 Mile Power Walk dvd and did the 2 Mile Classic Walk . feels great!!!

SunnySide - I would love to hear how you went from a size 22 down to a 14! what an amazing accomplishment!!! and it looks like you did it in about 6 months - WOW!!!!

Hi everyone!

I did the 4 Fast Miles and the first mile of Walk This Way with 3 lb hand weights this morning.

I was busy with my family events all weekend so I could not workout. The first time since July I missed 2 consecutive days of working out so I have to get to it this week!

AnnieDrews - That's great you were able to get a 4 mile walk in! How was the ghost walk? I love Halloween!

cathyxxx - It's so nice to see you and good job losing 5 lbs!!

Thanks for your kind words and for noticing! Let's see I started off as a size 20, but I was creeping up to a 22. I had to buy those short in my avatar because we had a few warm days back in Feb. and March and I couldn't fit into my old pairs. :(

The way I lost the weight was simple...I drink a lot of water almost every day, I watch what I eat and workout 6 days per week. I do WATP mostly along with some of my fav ExerciseTV clips and I take a strength-training class twice per week. When I started lifting heavier weighs my body started to change dramatically and the inches started to fall off of me. Sometimes I workout twice in a day especially if I know my calories will be high for the day.

I don't count calories, but I take mental notes of how many calories are in different items. I did it all on my own with no gym membership, no Weight Watchers etc., but I do spend a lot of time researching things and learning about the body etc.

Also I had a few restarts earlier this year, but I've been going strong since July and between then and now is when I lost most of my weight. I started off at 254 and now I hover between 217 - 222 these days. I only weigh myself about twice per month. I credit WATP and this forum for helping me keep myself in check such as keeping potato chips out of my shopping cart. lol

Being consistent with the working out and eating healthy has been the key for me.

Got an email today about a new dvd..........3 mile calorie blast with the walk band that goes around your waist. I think I already have 6 or 7 so unless I see a new one with weights, I will probably stick to what I have. 4 mi with 5lb weights.

I have the other video that uses that same belt and I never really saw how it helps the abs. I could only ever feel it in my upper arms and shoulders. Hm. I am not feeling any slimmer and doubt I will see any loss this week. At my age TOM has started to slow down and be irregular and it has been hanging around for about a week-and-a-half. Didn't count weigh-in last week because of it, but I will count it this week whatever it may be.:?:

her name is PMS.
she encouraged me to consume 3800 calories.
slept 10 hours after that, woke up all swollen this morning.
walked really really slow ... 8 miles.

I did The Big Burn Two Miles of Intervals this afternoon. I started a weight training program (home DVD) so I could not do a longer video today! I need to figure out my schedule with my exercise class, the DVD and WATP.

Annie - I'm sure you enjoyed your donut! I think it's fine to indulge once in awhile, it's not like you had 4 of them at once. haha!

Howdy Annie-nice to see you again. I remember you from when I was here 2 years ago and you were the one who got me interested in the WATP stuff.

I'm late, didn't even notice this thread or I would've logged my miles. Today I did the 1st 2 miles of the 5 day slim down with 2# weight in each hand. Then I did just the first mile, no weights. Later, I did the first 2 and then the first one again, no weights. Did the first one twice more. I think I am done for today. It was 8 miles total. I remember when I couldn't even do one. So I'm sti working my way up after a whioe of doing nothing. Sprained my ankle back in May and it took forever to feel better. I've done the third mile a couple of times, but still makes my ankle ouch a little, so just building slowly to keep from re-injuring it.

I was going to take a rest day today, but I started drinking a new protein shake which gave me tons of energy so I decided to take advantage!

I did 5K with a Twist this morning along with another workout. Looking forward to fresh apple cider, donuts and a haunted hayride later!

actually I took a long nap after the posting and having lunch now
my 4 miles will begin in about an hour.
it is hot outside 90 degrees with Santa Ana Winds.. very unpleasantly warm.
I'm going to do my walk on the elliptical machine
(I have one of those Precor machines with arms just like you see at 24 hour fitness Centers... for the money I paid for that thing, I could have had a few lipo suctions LOL)

5 miles walked. No step today, my lower back is a little sore so i am trying to take it a bit easier, I didn't do the twisting motion on the knee lifts so hopefully that helps. It better because I can't imagine not working out for a few days, I will if I have but to, I really would rather not.

5 miles walked. My back isn't as sore but it still aches a bit, I switched between 2 and 3 pound weights so I didn't strain my back during certain exercises.

Still using the 5 lb weights, 2 miles at a time. You can use any of the workouts and modify with them. I think they really make a difference in strength. I can get in and our of chairs easier and reach easier when I am doing housework like rehanging the shower curtain which takes a few minutes with your arms continually raised.

I got a surprise this morning....I could barely walk no my right leg!:mad: I have had issues with it and it decided to act up again. I'm going to give it a couple of days and see how it does. If no better, I will go to the doc. It has loosened up a bit since this morning.

Sunny-The hot bath would be a great idea, but we are busy fielding trick-or-treaters here! It isn't a muscular thing....I've had two surgeries for torn cartilage and have terrible arthritis in my knees. My right one will need a replacement someday, or so I've been told. If it doesn't get better by next week, I'll call the doc and see if can get a cortisone injection. That usually helps. Will prob take the day off from walking again tomorrow. Thanks!
