Good morning, everyone. Wow, hard to believe it is time for the October thread!

Diana, I agree that we need a lifestyle plan where we can work in things, especially when we go to dinner somewhere, etc.

Last night was nice for me, as I ate a small hamburger patty and the small piece of lemon cake, both of which are usually favorites for me. But truth is I really did not enjoy either one of them; I was loving the fresh veggie salad most of all. Of course I was also enjoying the BBQ potato chips until my friend "caught" me and moved the bags to the other end of the table, ha. But I ate just four of them so that much was okay.

I was going to leave a bit earlier this morning to get back and into the new gym, but decided not to since I did not get to go to my health store yesterday. They open at 11 so I will do the 9:30 breakfast and then head down there on the way out of town.

I look forward to seeing all of your posts coming through!!! And welcome to any newbies who may be joining us!

Hello everyone!
Sorry work is crazy and I wanted to do longer posts but that is not happening. I also ate a big lunch yesterday and ate veggies for dinner and gained 3 pounds:o
I am hoping this is water weight and it will go away. Anyway my gym is closed for repairs for the next 3 weeks and I am going to stick to Ripped in 30 and running outside the house. I will check in as much as I can. Thank you Diana for the next thread.

:D Yay NovaAngel! My biggest weight versus inches motivator has always been my mom. She is an inch taller and throughout my life would always ALWAYS tell me stuff like "when I was your age I weighed (usually less) and I feel so sorry for you!" type comments. Um I was always at least 2-4 sizes smaller than her even 5-20 pounds heavier than her so yeah muscle matters!

LOL Steph September flew by here too! I feel like whoa holidays already?

Oh Sophie where are you? :?:

Misti do you think maybe our tastes go from "OMG I CAN'T STOP!" to "yeah well that's nice and all, but I'm going with healthier choices" not that we say it outloud, but subconsciously our tastes/appetites catch up with what we know is healthier? I think so because I mean sometimes I see food commercials and think GROSS who would CHOOSE to eat that (because I think of the after math of stomach issues let alone weight for me anyway). And I'm an oddball that likes lemon cake too and pineapple upside down. Yay on the gym! :D LOL about the salad. When I was pregnant with the boys I CRAVED salads and water all the time. It was weird. With my daughter it was shakes, burgers, fries, specific pickles, and I probably gained my most weight with her. I know that salad craving though because I still get it and my "baby" is 11 years old (nearly 12!).

Diana how was the sundae? It's one I have not tried yet. I tried turtle which is too sweet for me. I love the cookie dough and the key lime. I also found a strawberry WW dessert thing, I guess shortcake? I've not tried it yet. I do realize it's not "as healthy" as other things, but like most people I know who are successful with maintaining and losing to a healthy weight you make your decisions to be liveable lifestyle wise. I've not tried the EatYourBest anything, but I almost bought that Amy bowl this week. I ended up getting some enchilada thing I can't remember. LOL I did NOT like the Blood Orange, and I forgot it was Oikos I thought Fage? I like Oikos too. Well let's face it, I love greek yogurt and have yet to meet one I don't like :o

Awe 4keeps I'm the same way with naps which is why I even set an alarm because if I oversleep..I pay for it. Happy birthday!!

LOL MamaKat we'll be on the 'old lady' vitamins today :) I like the sticky notes idea too. My stomach is a lot better today, not 100% but 99%.

Rasagolla you'll get a burn with Ripped for sure! I am sure it's water or sodium weight because you could not have eaten nearly or over 12,000 calories yesterday....really? I know I gained weight from the combo fried rice and I'm still paying weight wise for it. Tummy is better though yay!

Yesterday watched the newer Cabin in the Woods which was well FUNNY. I probably have a weird sense of humor, but who knows. NO CHINESE or anything off plan yesterday because I wanted my stomach back to normal. I had 1396 calories, did yoga for 60 minutes, and kettlebells for about 45 (but really 15 was "warming up and cooling down" stretches). Today Yin Yoga and some bike and that's all folks :) Welcome to October!

Serenity The Eat Your Best site is actually Weight Watchers Smart Ones products. Sorry about the confusion. I don't know why they named their site that. If you get a chance, take a look at these products and let me know if you have tried them.

Diana: Here's to a great October:cheer3:

Shishkberry: I can tell a major difference in your pictures. Your arms are looking really good.;)

SerenityDiva: Great job on the yoga. How often do you practice yoga?

Misti: I agree junk food doesn't taste as good anymore.

Calories: 1614
Exercise: 45 dogwalking

I was going to run c25K W7D3 today, but I had on new shoes yesterday, which gave me the worst blisters. I tried on my running shoes and just walking with them was creating painful friction on the blisters.

Hi, everyone!
I went to church, then my DH bought chinese on the way home for lunch. I only used a salad plate, but feel bloated and tired now. I have to admit it was delicious, I just should have stopped five bites before I did.

Diana...Thanks for your encouragement, and for the link to the new October thread!

Serenity... I'm now going to take a second nap this weekend...and yes, set my alarm. ;) Then I'm going to take a long walk and enjoy this beautiful, Fall day! Enjoy the last half of your weekend!

Hey everyone,

Wow, October thread already, where does the time go, right?

I think I am going to divide up my weekly points by seven (days in the week) and add that number onto my daily points allowance so I don't feel deprived or get frustrated as easily.

It's been a rainy day here! I hope the sun comes out and stays sunny :)

Take care,

Amy

shiskeberry, you look terrific. Good job!

4 Keeps, I envy you the good weather. It finally stopped raining this afternoon so I went out for a jog but got only halfway through before it started raining again. Fortunately, my route is just down a nearby hill, then back and forth a couple of blocks, then back up the hill - as many times as I can (4 or 5). So I never get too far from home and got only a little wet.

I've been experimenting with not counting too strictly on the weekends and it's been going okay. I had granola for breakfast, a protein bar for lunch, and then a big salad and a couple of pizza appetizers for dinner. I figure the calories were probably in my maintenance range.

I'm starting the month at 132.4 and would be ecstatic to hit 130 by Halloween.

Let's have a great October!

:rain: It has poured here most of the day. I finally gave up waiting to get outside for my uphill interval workout and did 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer using the weight loss program and another 30 minutes on the recumbent bike. As much as I hate to admit it, I do miss it when I don't do a workout. It seems the harder I workout, the better I feel in the end. ;)

Continuing to track my food on the Fitbit site. My next appointment with my GP is November 8. I'm hoping to lose another 10 pounds before that appointment. I just need to keep working at it.

Hope October treats everyone well! :witch:

Diana I've not had or am interested in the first two, but I LOVE the suizas and have them probably twice a week. Lean Cuisine has the, but they aren't IMO as good.

IsabellaOlivia I practice 6-7 days a week. Initially to help with stress and mobility, and yes still for that, but now also strength :)

4keeps you too! We just went and saw Looper, which was okay...not great.

Just a brief check in, ugh NovaAngel mine started today too.

Hi all! I'm not new here, but do not post a lot. I had a good September by losing 12 pounds! I hope that October goes as well. Although I had a bad day and ate about 200 calories over, I did get in my 30 mins on the treadmill and made a crock pot full of nutrient dense chicken chili for the week, so back on track tomorrow! I also make spinach smoothies for snack in the afternoon and it suprised me that my 7 year old son wanted to help make it and then tried it and wanted one for himself! Hopefully we are moving in the right direction as a family at eating better. I hope everyone has a great week/month!

Hi everyone!! Just kind of racing through as I got home from Whidbey Island, threw my stuff in the door and raced off to the new gym. Wow.... I almost jumped for joy when I saw the huge pool. And wonderful showers.. I'd pay the membership fee just for that as I have lousy water pressure at home.

Worked out for an hour and then checked out the rest of the gym. I can't believe I have access to all that!

Then I decided to get on the scale... hoping there was not a big gain and keeping in mind this is evening weight... and almost fell off the scale when it said 249!!! Yippppppppppppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I am now closer to 200 than 300

Hi Everyone!

Mamakat I'm glad your new shoes have potential. Good job on the 74 minute walk! :carrot:

Rasagolla Sorry about the weight gain. That sounds like water weight. Hang in there.

Serenity I loved the peanut butter sundae thingy. They are sweet, but not too much for me. Today I bought the Raspberry cheesecake flavor. Even if I have two of them on Saturday, that's still less calories than a regular dessert. I bought the WW's Smart One's frozen dinners I linked. I also bought the Tuna Noodle casserole and some extra tuna. I will probably put extra tuna and sugar snap peas in the Tuna variety. I will probably use extra chicken and maybe some zucchini or shredded cabbage in the the Asian/Thai/peanut varieties. These will be good for me to have on the weekends.

Shishkeberry Awesome job! You look fantastic! Keep up the great work! :carrot:

Isabella Sorry about the blisters, but great job on the walk!

Novangel Here's to a great month!

4 Keeps I love Chinese food, but I always feel bad after I eat it. I totally understand. I hope you had a good nap.

Seabiscuit Keep working those WW points so they fit YOUR needs! :carrot:

Steph Congrats on the 132!

oh i love this kind of thread!!
Hope October is great for me. Ive only been on this journey for 2 weeks now. Finally something has clicked for me to keep it going for once.

Weigh in tomorrow morning.
Only ate 1300 calories when my goal today is 1400 (i cycle though so some days are 2100 which is definitely nice for a bit of a healthy cheat day).
I just felt too full to keep eating lol.
And walked the dog for almost an hour. good for me and him. Such a beautiful fall day.

Well, I began my walk, made it about a half mile, and it started to rain. Lol...must be the rain everyone else was having today. Tomorrow my DH and I both have the day off, so when we send our DD off to kindergarten we are going to take the tandem bike out for a ride. I usually don't get a long workout, though, because I'm laughing so hard at how uncoordinated we are together! :)

Enjoy your Monday, everyone! Sorry if it sounds like bragging that I have the day off. Going to reconnect with my DH...we he had a lot of stress this year with the car accident, but this change of jobs could prove to be a blessing for our marriage, too. Looking forward to feeling ridiculous tomorrow on our tandem...

Worth - What an amazing job on your loss! :carrot: That's a huge number for your month! Yay!

Misti - That's great that you got such a great deal for the gym! :)

Diva - Sounds like you have totally reprogrammed your body to not take the junk anymore, that's an awesome thing. Sorry you felt bad, but it does help to sway us when we are torn with wanting something :)

Steph - Good luck on your month's goal! I bet you can hit it :)

Diana - Nope, no treadmill. I run outside. It is finally starting to cool to low 100's during the day, so by the time I am done Insanity, I should be able to run comfortably in 90 degree temps and not the blistering heat of summer anymore :) Great job on handling the dessert :)

Mamakat - I use the sticky note method with a LOT of things. I have to or I am useless. The kids have even added to my "wall-o-notes" when they need me to do something, Sad, but it's a coping skill to insure I do what I have to even with absent-minded ADHD-ism. It's a saying, I say so, Even my car looks like wallpaper for my obligations to work :)

Kell - :welcome: Good to have you

novangel - Glad you had a great workout :)

4 keeps - Sounds like you are doing great :)

Today was not as busy as yesterday, a nice change of pace for me. Got in my workout after a good breakfast, finished schoolwork early today, even got a chance to lay in the pool with my youngest and get some color! This evening we did family movie night at the house and it was wonderful and far overdue. Settling in for the night now, 3:30am comes too early for my liking - but until I figure out a way for me to support the family and pay bills without showing up to work.... I haven't much choice  Night all!

4 Keeps Enjoy the day with your DH! Sounds like you both need some "us" time.

Itsmyturn Sounds like Sunday was a nice day for you! :bravo: Good to hear it.

Aragonna Hi and Welcome to the check-in! :welcome2: I would suggest you find an eating style that works for you. Don't get caught up in what someone else is doing. Count your points, calories, etc. In my opinion, unless you have something medical going on, it's about energy in and energy out. Get a little exercise every day. It doesn't have to be intense and kill you. Walking is one of the best forms of exercise and it's free. Don't ever give up.

Diana I totally forgot to get extra tuna, but I ate the entree yesterday anyway. I love peas and tuna when I make it from scratch, especially peas...but extra protein is always a plus for me!

:welcome3: KellRell! I love this thread too :) I like your plan I think it's highly workable too.

:D NovaAngel yay for short work weeks! Good going on the workout too.

Awe 4keeps I think it's a great thing to have the day off child-free together! :cofdate: I didn't think you were bragging. I hope you guys have a great day and a nice ride too.

ItsMyTurn we did a movie on Saturday at home, but none of the kids would watch LOL. I guess they are just too involved with friends. I am glad about the food. DH works from home today and he had a Coke as I purchased a 12-pack of regular Cokes for the guys' night they had Friday. Well he said "are you sure you don't want it?" I said "no remember the last few times I've ordered one or gotten that one by accident I've felt sick and it's too sweet." He said "yeah and it's weird because before when you stopped you could still drink them." I then reminded him about the Starburst and we both think the same thing, although he thinks it's not just giving up the majorit of sweets; but, that I've been doing yoga and maybe that has a lot to do with it? meh doesn't matter really, but I'm glad too!

Mescelestus I hope all is well!

:welcome2: Aragorna! I think my best advice is log everything you eat and then decide what you need to do as a plan for food intake. What are you doing workout wise? And as far as particular diets, I don't think ANY successful person long-term follows ONE plan and ONE plan only to a T. I think we all use what works for us from each one we like and that's key to success. For example, I'm doing Dr. Anderson's Simple Diet, but I do more activity than he suggests (simply because I always have) AND I don't always do prepackaged meals sometimes I eat what I cook (since I have to cook anyway) and aim for lower calories. I also sometimes substitute greek yogurt for a protein bar/shake. I also give myself one 100-200 calorie cheat "most" days, which means I'll probably be 1-3 months SLOWER as far as "goal" but heck it's more liveable for me.

Yesterday was Mark Laham's Yin Yoga the hip one and 25 minutes on the bike AGAIN the extra mile! I did go to the show and did get a popcorn and Coke Zero. It was good, well the food the movie was okay (Looper). I think the calories were only 1787 (I used the nutrition information off the net for the popcorn) because I wasn't hungry for dinner so I had some tea and that was it. I wasn't purposefully avoiding dinner, just wasn't hungry so meh.

I went running today between classes for the first time in years... ouch. My muscles are not used to that kind of thing, my ankles in particular. It's funny because my school has this big beautiful pond, with a trail all around it, and there were gorgeous falling leaves and a breeze in the air, but I was just so miserable the whole time. Please tell me it gets better.

I've been on my diet for exactly a week now. The diet part is going well except for my boyfriend's family trying to stuff me with barbecue ribs. My boyfriend even got me a bag of candy. They're so sweet but they just don't understand.

I'm not into weighing myself every day, but as of saturday I'm at 209. Gosh do I want to get this right this time around...

I am feeling better now but exhausted, being that I got less sleep than normal and went into work, not totally on my game.

They gave me an IV of a painkiller, Benadryl and another medicine. Now my arm is all black and blue from the IV, looks like I was through a war! I am going to see a neurologist but the one I want to see, I have to wait until December!

Better go track those points, then take a nap - I am skipping physical therapy today.

ItsMyTurn, whenever I hear you desert-dwellers talk about 90 degree days being "comfortable, " I think of Bob Costas once comparing a "dry heat" to an oven. Too hot for me! Props to you for running in that.

Diana, I love those PB sundaes, and the chocolate chip ones as well. WW has some great ice cream treats, too - dark choc covered raspberry is my favorite. Those things and Dreamy Clusters keep my sweet tooth satisfied (mostly).

Bethedee, that trail sounds lovely. And it does get better! I recently started incorporating some running into my long walks and I've progressed faster than I imagined I would.

Aragorna, I like your motivations. Like Diana said, you just have to find a plan that works for you - but a plan is essential! I've been counting calories and it has worked well for me.

seabiscuit, I'm glad you're feeling better. I hope the neurologist can help, when you finally get that appointment. A friend of mine gets migraines and I know how debilitating they can be.

Serenity, here's wishing us a great October!

I weighed in under 132 this morning, woot! I'm sure I'll bounce around as usual, but it's always inspiring to see a new low, even if for just a minute. I got back on my recumbent bike for the first time since my fall last weekend and rode 25 minutes at low resistance. Some twinges in my thigh but not too bad. Fingers crossed that I don't regret it tomorrow!

Shishkeberry, you look amazing! What an amazing transformation! You must be so excited! :)

I had a great bike ride, and then a long walk, with my DH. It felt good, and I'm hoping we can do this more often. Just waiting to see how much pain I'm in in the morning. I'l definatey stretch before bed, because I haven't exercised on hills in awhile. I'm drinking a lot of water, and going to exercise again tomorrow so I don't stiffen up!

Hi Everyone!

Seabiscuit So sorry to hear about the migraine. I hope you continued to feel better today.

Misti Congratulations on the new low! :bravo: :congrat:

4 Keeps I hope you had a nice relaxing day.

Serenity I get the low sodium packets. I think they are all the same price. I wonder if the popcorn made you feel bloated, so you didn't want dinner. I felt bloated after eating the popcorn last night. I thought for sure I would have a gain because of how I felt. I hope you had a good day.

Mamakat Excellent job on your walk! Sorry to hear about the digestive issues. Did you get it figured out?

Bethedee Hi and Welcome to the check-in! :welcome2: You can do it and get it right this time. Just don't give up.

Rasagolla How did it go today with the Met-Rx shakes?

Isabella I'm not familiar with the C25K program. Are you familiar with Cardio Coach? Maybe these programs can be of help. http://www.cardiocoach.com/index.html

Steph I have to watch having those treats around the house. I am ok as long as I have a good mindset. If I get crazy in the head  I can easily eat all of those little packages. Right now I am OK. Hopefully it stays like that since I have 5 or 6 packages of those things.

Good Morning Everyone,

Diana No, we haven't figured it out. My tummy is loud whenever, I eat or drink anything and it cramps the entire way through, but then nothing which is starting to get uncomfortable :p I love the GI tract. I will pick up some probiotics while out today getting DS's newest game and some spackling for a hole I was supposed to fix over 5 years ago... better late than never. Apparently since I'm a master at making holes, I'm supposed to know how to fix them.

4 keeps Yesterday sounded nice, I hope you are still feeling good this morning (and throughout the day).

Steph Good job on new low. I hope it sticks around. I hope your first bike ride continues to be enjoyable today and not a pain. I love the recumbent bike.

Misti So the new gym is working out nicely? I'm so glad. It sounds like less travel...oh, and now I'm craving yams or baked sweet potatoes. Yesterday I smelled fries and began to drool. I even reasoned out, those are safe foods and almost bought them. It's never safe to leave the house hungry.

seabiscuit sorry about the migraine, they are the worst. I used to get them regularly when eating gluten...if I sneak any now they come right back. I had to take Imatrex and was always like: I don't know which is worse. The meds made me feel like I had lead in my veins, but the headache pain was gone. I hope you recover soon.

Serenity OMG, what are you talking about...Loopers is okay? JK. DH was all, it was great, I see why rotten tomatoes said this or that. LOL, I don't go to movies, I wait til they come out, but I was excited to hear about Loopers. I always ask, did they address this or this? DH gets frustrated sometimes, I know the plot and twists half way through most movies and say "told you so" throughout the second half. It's been established that's because I'm a writer and most stories have a formula, very few have had twists where I was like, oh? But when it comes to time travel, I ask or get frustrated if the writer or director doesn't realize that's not possible. I am weird that way. I love movie popcorn. It's a safe food as far as gluten-free, but oh my the last few times I ate it (I always got large) my tummy hated me following the movie and two days after. SO I gave up a favorite food even before going low carb. I always say, I'm going to ask for one kernel whenever I do go to the movies. Could imagine the look on the person's face...my family is very cool and never buys it when I go with them. SO sweet.

Today's plan is to clean the kitchen and get it ready for painting. Spackle that hole and then go to therapy. It's another "tapping" day. Sort of nervous what topic she'll bring up this week.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and healthy day!

Good Morning, Everyone!

Well, I had a gain this morning. It's so weird that I can lose for a couple of days and then I will gain. My loss yesterday, took me lower than I had been in over a month. I think I need to keep the focus on the overall downward trend, although that downward trend is going very slowly. What other option do I have? This trend doesn't seem to be affected by calories. :dunno: When I woke this morning my fingers felt tight so I knew I was swollen. My face/lips don't seem to be a major issue and my lips are not breaking out. Things could change later, but for right now I feel good about that. My calories were good for yesterday and my sodium wasn't any more excessive than normal. So that's good. I am sore from my workout yesterday. I don't normally gain from being sore but you never know. I looked at the calendar and it appears TTOM should be starting in the next few days. That seems to be a more likely culprit, since my fingers were swollen/tight this morning. Continuing with the science experiment.

Calories for yesterday: 1470 + :coffee
Weigh In: 151
Up: .6

Mamakat Sending you positive vibes with your session today. I bet your GI issues are from an ingredient change in a packaged product. They do that all the time. You think a product is "safe" for you and then they change the ingredients they use to manufacture the product. Good luck on getting the spackling and kitchen done. That seems like a major undertaking to me.

When an individual wants to lose weight, it is not necessary that he/she must cut some foods to eat. The best thing to remember is to eat with a balanced diet. You may eat lots of foods as long as it is balanced.

^I agree. I still eat mostly everything but in moderation and balance it out with healthy meals.

I woke up this morning and decided to jump on the scale even though I'm in the middle/end of TOM and it said 147p!!! :woohoo: Damn thing finally moved since August. I'm so psyched! October is starting off well. :)

Good morning everyone! Thank you all for the congrats and compliments :) I almost wish that I had more before pictures to compare, but as far as I know that's the only one from my highest weight. I'm sure you all can relate with not letting people take your picture. I'm exited because now every pound I lose beings me into new territory. This is the lowest that I have ever weighed as an adult. : D I had a tiny gain this morning, but I'm sure it's from sodium. I had grilled cheese and tomato soup for dinner and a lot of popcorn. We had a movie night at my SIL's house.
..
Rainy here this morning so I'm not able to walk. Maybe I'll have a dance party with DD. Have a great day everyone!

MamaKat I hope you guys figure out the culprit ;) LOL I could suck one piece of popcorn and probably be happy, but I always end up getting it. Now no more SUGARED soda because you guys know the last few times have sucked. I dunno why I wasn't thoroughly impressed by Looper. It's weird usually I love those kinds of movies, but who knows :?: MIL is a master spackler (so is DH). They have had to spackle walls with huge holes from tenants and stuff, but I learned they use newspaper sometimes to pack it. I can't explain it, but I remember it.

Bethedee your school sounds wonderful! You can get this, just set your mind to this is plan A, B, and C PERIOD, no other ways around it. When things are not an option, you can't get in trouble :)

 Rasagolla that's what I always tell myself, no way did I eat 12K calories! I'm hoping to get to 159 too, at least, by the end of the month.

Woot :cheer2: IsabellaOlivia on almost finishing the program! That's awesome!

Amy I hope you're feeling bettter. Those migraines (I've had them) can just wear you out.

:hun: Misti at your meal. Sounds like you had a great day. WTG on the workout too.

Steph I hope your thigh feels the good sore or not sore at all today. :woohoo: on the 132!

4Keeps I hope you're not sore today either. :sunny:

Diana I bet you're right! I am sure there is a lot more sodium in the movie popcorn than ANYTHING at home and I didn't add salt (usually I do). LOL I feel like a dunce not even thinking of that :^: I also saw Lastics at Mary's...uh oh I think I want it. But I am going to attempt to hold off until a trade or some more stuff sells on Yayas as I really do NOT have time or need it. Good going on the planks! And I do think the weight gain is from TTOM. I am ALWAYS 2 pounds heavier for 2-5 days during it and that's the way it is for me.

:congrat: NovaAngel you are starting out with a bang!

Shishkeberry what movies did you guys watch?

:welcome: LeonaWoodridge! Balance is key in everything in my opinion too.

Yesterday I did RKS workout 1 (kettlebells). It is 30 seconds of work (2-handed swings) with 45 seconds of rest repeated 16 times (with a warmup and cooldown). Um I grabbed the 18 pound bell, thinking 'you got this' and started. Rounds 1 and 2 I was like "45 seconds? That's too long!" but by round 3 and the rest it was PERFECT amount of rest/work ratio. I did drop to 13 pounds later on because my form was going to get bad and that's not going to happen. I then followed up with week 9 of APY60 :yoga: Calories not bad, 1297, and I try Amy's black bean enchilada thingie which was of course good. I wish I could afford everything Amy's :wizard:

We watched the Avengers. I'm not a huge movie buff so it was ho hum for me. It also took about twice as long to watch because the kids kept interrupting. (SIL's two and our two range from 12-2). I swear we had to pause that movie every ten minutes for something.

Mamakat - Sending you happy thoughts and positive energy for a good appointment and only uncomfortable enough to make a positive difference for you

Today, was my first day of quitting Diet Coke. I've had four cups of coffee today to try to counteract the caffeine withdrawal headache.

I feel so bleh. My head hurts like crazy, my eyes are watering, I feel grumpy and angry, my depression feels worse, lethargic, zero energy. And oh yeah, did I mention my head is consistently pounding.

This stuff is scaringly difficult to quit.

Welcome jenannerig and leonawoodridge !
Serenity, you were right, I am back on track to where I was last week
Diana Met-Rx is good. I had one in the morning for breakfast (about 280 calories plus my latte is 100 so I have about 380 for breakfast with just this) and one just as soon as I came home from work (200 calories because I have it in water instead of milk). I donít feel the insane need to eat everything in sight after I am home until dinner is ready. It tastes okay not a big fan but I will try it this month because I am able to cut out 32 grams of carbs for breakfast.
My stats: ran outside 3.2 miles (it is so much more difficult than doing this neat treadmill for 4 miles- yay to technology!!:), had protein and veggies for dinner, with Ĺ a cup of white rice. Weight 162.4.

Hi Everyone!

Things got really interesting for me today. I started off a little sore from my workout yesterday and it progressed as the day went on. Basically everything is sore except for my extremities, above my neck, below my elbows, and below my knees.

I have been wanting a meatball sub. I haven't had one in years. As most of you know that I haven't had much variety of food in recent years due to my "food allergy" that ended up being Angio Edema.

I didn't want to make a meatball sub because we would never use all of the bread, etc. It would go to waste. I thought it was best to get a meatball sub out. The calories and sodium are horrible. I had a small kids meatball sub and later had some yogurt to try to fill up. It was good and I enjoyed it, but I can honestly say that I was not/am not satisfied. I am definitely a volume eater. DH also ordered a meatball sub, but it was a foot long. The bread in the meatball sub is not as big as for the regular subs. I swear I could eat 2 of the foot longs without a problem.

I always get full and satisfied when I eat a pile of veggies and a large portion of protein. A kids meatball sub is a joke, I tell you! I will take 2 foot long subs, thank you very much! I'm sure I could have lowered the calories but got more food if I had made it myself.

Shishkeberry Did you have the dance party with your DD? That sounds like it would be fun.

Serenity I'm thinking my gain was probably from pending TTOM or even from being sore from my workout yesterday. I wasn't very sore this morning, but it has gotten progressively worse as the day has went on. I've seen the Amy's products at Walmart. How does their price there compare to the regular frozen dinners? Also, look at the Amy's website. A lot of them have online coupons. I tried the Chobani blood orange yogurt and didn't like it. I didn't even like the plain yogurt on the top. I can eat Fage and Stonyfield Oikos plain yogurt without a problem. I like the taste just fine. Of course I prefer a flavor variety. Anyways, the Chobani plain yogurt on the top had a faint taste of goats cheese. Are you familiar with the strong flavor of goats cheese? I do not like it at all and the Chobani reminded me of that. Maybe it's just me.

Jenannerig Hi and Welcome to the check-in! :welcome2:

Itsmyturn Good job setting those goals! Gotta get those veggies in to fill'er up!

Mescelestus Hi  Sending you some energy vibes! :goodvibes:

Isabella Sorry to hear about the diet coke withdrawals. I can't even imagine how my morning would be without my coffee. Hang in there.

Isabella, good luck with your diet Coke detox. I'm glad that I've never liked soda because it seems like an easy thing to get hooked on.

mamakat, the yams or sweet potatoes fixed the way I do are indeed yummy and SO easy. I just peel one and slice it into rounds, thin like fried potatoes. Put into a bowl and season, a bit of oil or cooking spray. Then spread them out on a foil lined cookie sheet and bake. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Good Morning, Everyone! I hope you have a great day!

I've got some serious DOMS this morning. They are still all over, but they are really concentrated in the glutes/hamstrings. I guess the workout change up was a good thing in that I am working my body in a different manner again. It obviously is NOT used to what I am doing. I have been feeling a little crampy this morning. I'm thinking/hoping TTOM will be starting soon. My fingers were very tight this morning. I am also hoping that TTOM will be "normal" again this month. If it is, that tells me that my thyroid meds being too low, were the reason for the 2+ week psycho TTOM from he!! Hmm, why can't I be the person that has to deal with one issue at a time? I can handle that. But NOOOOOO! I have to have multiple science experiments going on at one time. Ah, but it keeps things interesting. ;)

Tonight is my hair appointment and we will eat at the Japanese restaurant.

Calories for yesterday: 1500 + :coffee:
Weigh In: 151.2
Up: .2

I am really glad that I didn't eat the regular size of the meatball sub yesterday. I'm sure all of that sodium would have been really bad this morning. We'll see how it goes with the Japanese place tonight. It might be really ugly tomorrow.

Misti I agree, those sweet potatoes sound delish! I normally just bake them whole. I might do the slices the next time. I think you could get some nice carmelization that will bring out the flavor very well.

Seabiscuit Have a great day!

Shishkeberry ugh for those days. I have an 11-year-old that does that constantly and when the guys had movie night Friday, apparently he told everyone before something happen :(

:welcome: Jenannerig!

Woot ItsMyTurn you got this! I love DOMS too.

Mescelestus sending you energy! Hopefully you'll feel better before reading this post. Allergies here are driving everyone nuts.

 IsabellaOlivia. You can do it! It is tough. I hope you are doing better today.

LOL Rasagolla it was 162.8 this morning too! I think the flush has happened (TTOM started Sunday and remember the Starburst Friday...with Chinese). However, I have to get back on track. It's going way slower than I would like and it's because I know I'm eating more crap versus nutrient dense stuff...so that is that. I think I will do something like 20 pounds by the end of the year and give myself some new workout clothes, partly as a motivator but partly because all my stuff from 20 pounds ago workout clothes wise are worn out and I'll need them anyway.

Diana I think they average $1.50-2.50 more, which for me (since I eat 10-14 meals a week like this) that's a lot more monthly. Costco sells a six or eight pack of the veggie lasagna where it works out to $2 I believe per meal and I get that because it's not that much more (if any) than Lean Cuisines and Smart Ones anyway. LOL I love goat cheese so maybe that's why I liked it? I dunno. I just know Fage is at Costco in volume so since we joined recently I'm getting that. I'm sorry you were sore and the meatball sub was disappointing. I hate that when you're psyched for something as a treat and it just is NOT even close to as good as you wanted. It feels like "well gee that's a waste" :( And I know you're glad about the less sodium. Hope today's Japanese food is excellent!

Steph WTG on the weight loss, you never know maybe you were retaining fluid and now it's balancing out? I do weigh myself daily (usually) and while I don't give the scale that much power over my mood, I have to say when it drops I'm so happy.

Misti could I "paint" them you think or mist them with olive oil? I know DH and the kids would like the yams (I find them too sweet but I'll still eat them LOL). DH especially loves them! Yay on the gym too!!! Good luck at the doctor's today.

Amy I'm glad you like the hairdresser, but more so that the headache stopped. I've had an allergy one for a few days and runny, sticky eyes (which with contacts are a PITA). But I hate taking Sudafed for more than 1-2 days as my eyes and gums (yes gums!) get too dry. Today I don't feel as icky so I stopped the Sudafed. Nothing like a migraine, but still ugh.

NovaAngel you're doing awesome with Jillian! I am glad you are finding it easier, it's so neat to see progress like that and for me it always seems faster than I remember it being (at this stage, 2 years ago not so much).

Well as for me, thank goodness the 2 pound weight gain is gone. I woke up and "felt" it and sure enough the scale registered 162.8 again. But it is moving slower and I think I'm going to have to revamp my food, meaning LESS processed period. I have some frozen fruit (I HAD some unfrozen fruit for the week which apparently everyone had to eat in 3 days--with this family you never know) so I'll substitute that when I'm not wanting a salad or veggies for volume control. I also tried hazelnut tea as someone said it helps with chocolate cravings. Um no. Not for me. I don't do sweeteners in tea so that's probably why it was nasty. Anyway I did RKS workout 2 yesterday with the bells, it's more "weight lifting" oriented so I could use the 26 pound (I think it's in the other room it might be 28?) except for lunges. I did try but I felt it on the left knee more than I'd like so I stopped and went back to the 18. But I think I'm going to have to get the heavier one up here for rows because they were not even "moderately difficult" just kind of like blah. I then did my week 9 of yoga day two. Today is bike and yoga and Thursday and Friday more RKS. My shoulders were looking great from yoga, but I forgot how fast they respond to kettlebells. Calories were okay yesterday EXCEPT FOR I felt guilty to say no to some tapioca my daughter made...so I ate it, around 320 calories so that brought me up to 1633. I was NOT going to have any but no one wanted it and her feelings were hurt, and to be honest it's one of my favorite desserts. She won't make it again probably for 6 months (as it's time consuming) but damn. Well I guess not damn because my weight dropped back, but still this is the kind of thing I have to remember isn't helpful to my goals.

Hi all! Thanks Diana for the energy! I hear you about the volume eating, I feel like I could eat 4 of certain sandwiches and stuff; It's too bad that sandwich shops don't usually have steamed veggie platters. Still lethargic today. If I don't have energy by monday I'm going to have to attribute it to my meds and tell the doc to gimme dif ones. Forcing myself to go to the gym this evening anyway. I hope you all are having a great wednesday! :)

Afternoon everyone.

Auuurghh... I'm so tired today. I don't think it's my diet because I've been wicked consistent with it for the past 2 weeks and I haven't felt like this 'til now. I think it's just one of those rainy blegh days. I had my single serving of brown rice earlier, and browned some 95% lean ground beef (calories counted) in a skillet with a little garlic. I also threw a banana in there because I haven't had one in ages and a lack of potassium can make my legs cramp up sometimes.

And speaking of legs... good LORD are mine sore! Thighs hips and abs expecially. I really need to learn to stretch better if I'm going to run.

I'm not running right now though. I'm chilling out. Contemplating having a second cup of coffee. I almost fell asleep in my class. Heck, I did fall asleep in my class, just hopefully not long enough for the teacher to notice. I'm having trouble keeping up with the combination of everything with everything. I'm sure you guys know that feeling >.<

I've got a six-hour shift tonight and I'm managing it, but all I want to do is go to sleep. Maybe a nap would be worth it. Maybe just an episode of tv. Idk. I'm so tiiired.

(sorry for whines!!!)

Hi all,

Back up over 131 this morning, as expected. And I've had a bad food day, indulging in a cupcake and a cookie here at work just because. I need to get back to not doing that.

Tonight's workout will be 40 minutes on the bike and then maybe 30-40 minutes of strength training.

I hope everyone is having a good day!

Hi everyone!! Hope you all had a good day!!!

And yes, mamakat, I would think you could get the oil on the yams any way you wanted, as long as they got coated and the seasonings stick on. Another good way to make them... or the lighter sweet potatoes which are also popular here... is to peel them and boil just a bit to start the cooking. Then break them up and coat them with a bit of olive oil and top with fresh pico de gallo... and bake. YUM.

Today was good news, I guess. The physical therapist did a thorough evaluation and said he believes he can help me with the pain. But I need to go in twice a week after work, which is going to be hard, but I will do what needs to be done. He showed me one shoulder exercise to do to start me out... when I told him how good it felt he said he was hoping I would say that. It feels sooooo good that I was doing it all the way home while driving... it's that easy. LOL but I did it so much I kind of made my muscles sore (he did say to do it at least three times a day but fine to do it all I want).

LOL I guess you don't all need to hear about all my aches and pains. :)

Hi Everyone!

Seabiscuit I'm glad your hair appointment wen well, yesterday. I new 'do makes you feel great!

Itsmyturn I really think #10 SDX is only a notch or so lower than Insanity! I had some serious sweat going on today. I was sweating like I did during month 1 of Insanity.

Novangel Were you able to get that run in today? Are there any indoor tracks near you?

Serenity I loved the taste of the meatball sub and really enjoyed it, except for the size. In order for me to keep calories/sodium low enough, I had to order the kid size. I am a very big eater. I have never been able to "shrink" my stomach like I hear people talk about. I swear I am a perfect candidate for gastric bypass. My Dad was a very big eater, too. I got my Dad's appetite, but my Mom's metabolism. Why don't we get the good things from our family? Glad you lost that 2 pounds! I'm glad you enjoyed the tapioca. It's so hard to deal with desserts/sweets. I'm glad that no one cooks around here but me. ;) Let me tell you about the enablers over at VF! Now I am interested in JM's NMTZ's and Jari Love's Lean Machine. Mind you, I don't want these workouts for right now. I want them in case I need them in the future. They just look like good workouts to have. I "needed" PF Harmony for this same reason.

Mescelestus Exactly! You get me! :D I like going to Jason's because I can order a healthy wrap and add on a couple order of veggies to fill me up. I will eat the veggies first, so I am semi full before I eat my sandwich. Then I am totally satisfied after I finish my sandwich. How was your energy the rest of the day? Did you get to the gym?

Bethedee It sounds like you have a lot going on with school and work. Get your rest when you can. I know I lived on coffee when I was burning the candles at both ends. It's not the best thing to do, but sometimes it's the only thing you can do. Hang in there.

Steph Sorry about the extra treats today. Keep working on it. I know it's hard.

#10 SDX Lower Body w/12's
KCM's 30 MTF Circuit Burn (Cardio/Boxing Premix w/weighted gloves)

This morning I woke up with the upper body feeling better, but the hamstring/glute DOMS were worse. Now to the bad part. I was concerned because the Lower Body workout was scheduled for today. :D I had more of a sweat going on today than I did on Monday. That lower body workout has always been killer. We will see if I need assistance getting out of bed tomorrow. For some reason, my glutes/hamstrings are not sore right now. (they are probably in shock! :D) Anyways, I was trying to compare the intensity of #10 SDX to Insanity. I think #10SDX is a notch easier than Insanity, but not by a lot. It's not like one is beginner and one is advanced. They are very similar in intensity levels. I thought the Circuit Burn Cardio/Boxing were a great compliment to the Lower Body Workout. The cardio portion is very plyo/lower body focused. I am going to try to do this type of pairing of workouts during this rotation. I think a cardio workout that uses weighted gloves pairs well with the upper body workout, etc.

Hi everyone,

I hope I am making progress, I am trying to make healthier choices. I still have my old fall backs though like the fattening and sweet stuff that is all empty calories.

Next week I see my doctor about my anemia and fatty liver, and I know I should have lost weight, it's hard when a medicine puts on weight. I'm scared to get on the scale right now but I know I should and need to get back to tracking more, and I keep saying I will.

I'm kind of limited in how much physical activity I can partake in because I don't want to stir up the migraines again.

One day at a time...

Take care everyone...

Good Morning, Everyone!

The bad news: I had a gain this morning
The good news: I started TTOM. I know now that my gain from the last couple of days has been from pending TTOM (Of course I can't leave out blaming the sodium from dinner last night.) But, my main point is that my mouth is NOT breaking out and it appears the gain is NOT from Angio Edema.

I think I am still holding on to a few pounds of water weight from the Edema. I have to remember that I had a flare up last week, but it appears that things have been clearing up since then. But, I also think that I gained true weight (fat) over the Spring/Summer since my thyroid meds were off. It's probably a couple/few pounds, too.

I am thinking about getting some unsweetened cranberry juice this weekend. I would like to see if that will help flush some of the water weight. But I don't know how that would react with the Edema. If I have a flare up, I guess it would come right back on. :?: Also, an observation from over the last few years. If I am having a flare up, I cannot lose weight. It takes time for everything to regulate. I guess it's the body's way of "protecting" itself in some way.

Calories for yesterday: 1570 + :coffee:
Weigh In: 152.8 (TTOM)

Diana-I didn't make it to the gym last night, but I was back doing insanity this morning. I def AM getting sick, and that's comforting to know it's not something else. I don't think I actually will get sick though, my immune system is fighting the good fight. I need to fast a little and meditate, I've been putting yucky things in my body and all that can do is make me feel yucky! I'm sorry to hear about your water weight and flare ups and what not, I Wish I had a suggestion for you; the best I can do is send you some positive vibes and <3

mescelestus, weekends can be tough. I usually run errands first thing, so I often skip breakfast which gives me some extra calories for snacking. Not a great plan, but it's been working okay. I think we just have to try to avoid the mind set of equating the weekend with the loosening of restraints.

I weighed in at 130.8 this morning - woot! I just stuffed myself at lunch, though, so I'll be up tomorrow. I can't believe the 120s are in sight!

SerenityDiva

First of all I stopped logging last night. I just didn't. I don't know why so my calories are not correct at all. I hate that, but on the other hand crap happens...I won't beat myself up anymore I did for a few hours and now that time is done. Move on. I did yoga yesterday and 25 minutes on the bike, have a renewed spirit, and that's all I can do.

Bethedee I hope your shift went by okay and the banana helped cramps.

Steph I hope you're having a great day too. I am SUPER proud to see you so close to 120s!

Mescelestus have you ever had a veggie sub? I wonder if they are good? I know my former neighbor got them I think at Quizno's all the time, but I have no idea if they tasted good. I like the idea though I don't know if it would satisfy me if I was wanting a meatball one LOL. Take care of yourself, colds suck!

Oh Misti I hope he can help! I hated physical therapy because of the time involved AND the pain (but honestly I got results so that was a small price to pay). They had me going 3 times a week and when I was working, I was self-employed so I didn't get PTO..it was just a PITA but it helped so much I know in the end it was worth it.

LOL Diana about VF. It can be a very bad place. I have way too many DVDs and VHS...but I think no no no I can't part with them. I am selling a lot of Jari Love DVDs, all of them, because while they are good--I don't forsee going back. If you want I'll P.M. you the list or if you're on Yayas you can see it there. The things I don't like is she REALLY is thin and some of her "talk" is BS, i.e., "now you're burning carbs" or things that have not necessarily been proven or disproven yet. Plus the set is DARK which is fine for some, but I just don't LOVE them. I have to say I did get results with them when we moved back from Georgia to Texas I lost 20 pounds with that and dieting within 2-3 months. Obviously it's more from the food, but I liked them okay. WOW I had no idea SDX was NOT much easier. Right now I'm fine with workouts, but wow! I also agree it's the body's way of protecting itself. Flush that out and you'll be golden :)

NovaAngel you'd laugh at me. I sweat so much I have a sweatband on (like the old 1970s fashion forward tennis ones) that I have to change it between my kettlebell or strength and yoga. It's nasty. And I look like a goober. Now :congrat: THREE POUNDS TO GOAL! You are rocking it!!!

Amy what about something like deep breathing, pilates, yoga, or Oxycise, BodyFlex or whatever those programs are. I know some people think they are bunk, but *in my experience* deep breathing helps the migraines a lot and if ou add stretches and some strengthening to that..you are going to get there.

:welcome: Masterptr I think we all can relate to PMS, unfortunately :(

:cheer2: Shishkeberry! WTG!!!

Thanks Rasagolla. Today I'm feeling meh. I think because DH tossed and turned all night, ended up staying home, I woke the kids up and slept in until about 10:30...so I feel just behind. I *am* going to get my workouts in and I *have* recommitted to 20 pounds by the end of the year PERIOD. I will be a food snob (sort of as I'm not a foodie per se but I tend to say "I don't eat that" to things that I know are not helpful to my weight loss journey or just plain unhealthy). I can do it, but I feel like a meanie sometime saying no. It's for my health and I'm a better person when I'm healthier, but sometimes...groan...you know how that goes.

Everyone you guys are my rock because you know offline talking about diet, weight loss, fitness, etc., people get sick of hearing it. And yesterday I just blew it off and while I got my fitness goals in, I know the rest wasn't great. I also realized I'm only HALFWAY to where I want to be and I don't want to quit. I stopped last time around 156? I can't remember, then my husband had his surgery and I was running him to and from work, my son to and from work (pre driver's license), working full time AND working out and I was just too freaking tired then to worry. Well I don't have "that excuse" now period and I want to look back on these 5-7 years of being obese/overweight as a small portion of my life, not the majority. It would be so easy to say "well mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunts on both sides, cousins on all sides, are all obese so it's genetics" which yes it makes it MORE difficult to stay thinner..but intellectually I know that isn't the full story. So, thanks you all!

IsabellaOlivia

This quitting Diet Coke thing is making me experience flu symptoms. I'm still having headaches, no energy, indigestion, watering eyes, etc

I googled quitting DC, and the general consensus is that it takes two weeks to feel good again. I pray that they are all somehow mistaken, because I'm already sick of these "detox" symptoms.

Thanks so much for the faith in me, support and concern. I really appreciate it! ;)

Work today didn't go so great, co-workers can be so 'catty.' Ugh! Oh well, I am lucky to have a job, right?

Finally I talked to my orthopaedist who is treating my neck and back, he says a treatment option is an epidural injection :( I am freaking out a little here, so many questions, and I need a lot of answers! :?:

I'm really looking forward to making more friends in my area and possibly going to some interesting groups in the area. I can use some support right now!

Tomorrow is weigh in day which I am dreading with a capital D. I just want to bite the bullet though in a way too and stop evading things. My two week trial of etools is up tomorrow and I will be charged for the 3 month fee tomorrow, was debating canceling WW because I am lax in tracking but I really do want to get back to tracking.

Well, I gotta get cleaning up this apartment!

Have a good night and thanks again. BTW, I did check out those programs OxyCise and BodyFlex, gotta think more about 'em but there is a lot to be said for deep breathing! ;) I really do want to try Tai Chi one of these days...

Have a good night :)

Shishkeberry Congratulations!

Steph Congrats on the 130.8!

Serenity Yesterday was a reset day for you. Good job on getting that yoga and bike workout done. You are very consistent in your workouts. I have finally reacquired all of the workouts, through VF, that I traded away and changed my mind on. I haven't done much trading recently, because I don't want to have to go through reacquiring them. #10 SDX is easier but not a lot. Maybe I am just a whimp when it comes to weights. ;) I can relate to your post about talking with people in our real lives about our weight loss/fitness goals. I try to talk with my DH about diet/exercise, etc and he gets that far off stare on his face. Also, a lot of our friends are older than me. We are at different stages in our lives.

Isabella Keep up that strong fight against the DC. Sending you :goodvibes:

Seabiscuit Have you ever tried muscle relaxers for your neck? My first car wreck, I did PT first. It didn't help. I moved on to chiropractic care. That didn't work. I have TMJ and was having issues with my jaw getting sore. My dentist prescribed a muscle relaxer for my TMJ. It ended up helping with my neck. It took time though. After the second wreck I had issues with my neck in the same area. I talked with the dentist again about the muscle relaxer. It helped again!

Good morning everyone...

I want to go back to sleep! I'm so glad it is Friday :D

Actually, I do have a prescription for a muscle relaxer that I keep at home. I have tried it before and it sometimes helps the pain but it also makes me very tired. It would not be a good choice for me to take at work due to the fatigue from it.

I'm not sure what I am going to do next. I may look into seeing a pain management doctor.

seabiscuit I didn't take the muscle relaxer during the day due to drowsiness. I took it every single night for a couple of weeks. Then, so I would not grow accustomed to it, I took a break for a week and then started back up. It did take time, but that's the only thing that worked for me.

ETA: I wanted to mention that I absolutely hate taking medicine. But for me, in this case, the meds were the only thing that helped. Of course, now that the neck pain is gone, I no longer take the muscle relaxer.

Misti Have a great weekend!

Amy I know a lot of patients have success with epidural steroid injection. My husband did for his back pain several times. I did NOT for plantar fasciitis AT ALL. But for my back pain, while I didn't have success I didn't have pain or anything, so I'd go for it most likely.

Misti I love my husband's Galaxy I think more than the iPad, I don't recall him being thrown out of apps and I am a lot on the iPad and iPhone. So tempted to get one...but then I have this thing where I'm technologically stupid...so I dunno yet. Oh crap about the physical therapist and pain. Well I will say this, it makes you feel SOOOOO GOOOD when you are done. Two of the 3 I worked with would also give me a massage after or have me use props to stretch things out (like those Elaine Petrone balls) and/or some craniofascial thingie I don't know the name of. It will be great...just remember the end result everytime :D

LMBO Diana about reacquiring DVDs. I did that I believe THREE TIMES with Slim Series and I don't know why. I like Debbie, she's "cute" and all, but the workouts were torturous and dull. I'm also going to steal your term and use "reset" as this week's theme for me. I mean I was feeling up and down and up and down mentally as far as food choices, but I have to remember to practice what I preach--which is NOT perfection, but forward momentum. Today my cousin is in town and we're going to try to get together for lunch (she's out in L.A.) so I need to make wise choices. Perfect test? I guess. Also I read your food for the teriyaki and stuff, so I really STRONGLY believe it's restaurant-related and/or TTOM, because both are bloating times.

NOVAANGEL! Yay! I'm so happy and in awe of you registering! Even walking you still have a goal and I think it's great!!!

Mogzillo what about fruit or a "sweetish?" herbal tea? I have the same problem but I will have a speramint or peppermint tea after dinner and usually that does the trick. I would have fruit after dinner, but usually that's too sweet for me now. You can modify eating to work within your plan maybe?

Okay yesterday was a GREAT day dietary choice wise at 1184 calories with 60 minutes of yoga and about 20 minutes of kettlebells, which I feel today. Lots and lots of leg work. I really am doing that weird thing we all do when building muscle, feeling ourselves up. I have sexy legs and I can't stop touching them...creeping you out yet?

Good morning all! Just checking in quick, It's too hot out for my liking in October :/ But I'm sitting at my desk at work with a green drink and I'm happy just knowing how many nutrients I'm getting from it :) catch up with you guys later!

Mogzillo, get some fresh strawberries and dip them in a cup of low-fat greek yogurt for dessert. I know it's not chocolate but you'll get used to it and it's a lot less calories.

Diana: What is sprits oil?

Novangel: I love that you are doing a 15K. Really inspiring.

Mescelestus: Enjoy the tea.

Seabiscuit: Happy week end!

Mogzillo: It's hard work what you're doing. Best of luck.

Thanks for the support about quitting Diet Coke. I've been drinking extra coffee to makeup for less caffeine and drinking a lot more water to replace the amount of fluid Diet Coke was give me. Yet, I still feel as if I've caught the flu. I still have headaches and just no energy. My last Diet Coke was on Sunday, so I'm reallly reaaaallllllyyyyy hoping to feel back to normal soon. I have to admit quitting Diet Coke was harder than I thought it was going to be.

Hi Everyone!

Mogzillo Hi and Welcome to the check-in! :welcome2: I agree with Novangel. Fresh fruit and/or yogurt makes a great dessert.

Serenity Nothing wrong with having a reset. Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. How was your lunch with your cousin? Ha Ha, Nope not creeping me out! Confession time! I made some observations during my Insanity rotation. When I put my hand on my leg for support (for one of the moves) that my leg is really hard. I found myself feeling around to see the difference. This is the good, but we won't talk about my inner thighs while wearing shorts. Now that might creep us out and "sexy" isn't close to how I would describe my inner thighs! Good job on noticing those positive changes in your body. You have worked hard for it.

Mescelestus I hope you had a great day.

Novangel Hi

Isabella I have a spray bottle of olive oil. I use a spritz of oil in the pan. I use less oil/calories like that. Hang in there detoxing from the Diet Coke. You can do it.

Hey everyone,

Well I finally bit the bullet and weighing myself this morning and it is still 228, so I didn't lose but at least I didn't gain or at least it was under a pound. What a relief.

I'm going to the grocery store today and I am planning to get some more foods that are healthy but tasty for breakfast so I can not spend so much money and calories at Starbucks all the time!

As for the epidural, I am going to another orthopaedist who I used to see for his opinion on the 22nd.

Take care,

Amy

Good Morning Everyone,

Ah Saturday has arrived, does anyone know where the week went? Apparently, I slept through it OR something :) I need to get out of mah house! I had a weird mid-week visit with doc yesterday, normally we go two full weeks to a month, but he didn't want to wait that long. Well, guess what, he was working out of New Haven, not really that far from therapist's office. Ugh, I swear, I get more anxiety going to New Haven than living day to day :p But, I finally got to see the ivy league part of the college. Where the hospital is and around is run down...the low class living, if you will. But drive up a hill and OMG, it's beautiful! The campus is gorgeous, the houses are gorgeous...the people are gorgeous. It is ideal for walking and they even have a cool track to run on, I know cuz I watched a guy running  It was like night and day. It was so spacious and no honking and parking galore! I can do this New Haven :D

Diana Thanks for thinking of me. Apparently I haven't come out of the depression, it just isn't my normal thing, so I'm not noticing it. Doc agrees, it's not a dangerous depression (as long as I get one good meal a day). Showering and brushing my teeth are for the benefits of others, LOL, not that I stink :p He and me, agree that I'm not in danger and that I can go a month as long as I and others are aware...like this last time, I knew when I got "sick" and needed on the clock watch. Usually, I don't make an effort to tell others, but I was still in a good enough place to make a wise decision. He'd like for me to do that again. And like I said, this isn't something I'm aware of, like I don't feel sad or depressed. If you ask, is there anything wrong, nope, I'm fine. I'm just not making the effort of living which for me is a norm. I'm sure this too shall pass. I have no worries...LOL, another symptom. But I do what I'm told when told to do it which is more than I would if it was bad.

Hey in all the whatever that's been going on no weight change :D That's always nice.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and healthy day.

I did Jillian last night and now this morning I plan to go out and jog for a bit since it's finally not raining but it sure is getting cold. :/ I'm still going strong this month, I took pic of myself last night and I must say there's even more improvement from last pictures. I can hardly believe it's my body I'm looking at from what it was.

Have a great day, everyone.

Good morning everyone!
Serenity, awesome job on the muscle:D no it does not creep me out and you have earned it!. Hope you are felling better today!
Congrats Novangel, and keep going. Great job on registering!
Hi Mamakat and Seabiscuit, sometimes when you are not doing what you would normally do weight wise but the weight remains the same, it feels great:D
Safe travels Misti! Have a great weekend!
Diana thank you so much for the October thread. I am into month of my weight loss journey and there is a change. I started at 167 and this morning weighed 160.2! I got there last week with observance and fasting but I rebounded back to 162. But I have been watching what I have been eating and reporting my stats here so that is key to my efforts.
NSV: went to Cold stone creamery yesterday , ordered a “love it” sans fat sin free sweet cream. Next NSV: order a” like it” size. I used to be the type that you eat icecream out once in a while so you should eat the “real” thing but now my brain says sans fat is what I got to get. Of course I stole a couple of spoons from my DH’s chocolate and I was not sad or felt like I was missing out:D
I think Met-Rx and Jillian and running outside is doing its magic in the recent 2 pound loss. Let us see when I plateau again then go back to the next thing to cut out. Planning on doing Jillian week 2 today.

LOL NovaAngel maybe, but I bet you're going to feel fabulous after you accomplish it and I wouldn't be surprised if you sign up for more. I NEED to take pictures more, you reminded me. I see a difference, but I would like to document it as well.

Ugh IsabellaOlivia. I am sorry. Flulike is the worst especially knowing you are doing it to yourself BUT you know that probably makes it more important to quit...at least I'd tell myself that :)

Awe thanks Diana! I ended up having to change lunch because her boss scheduled (she's in town for some annual thing) a meeting at that time screwing up the time because he's on California time..so hopefully later this weekend.

Amy good going on the NO GAIN, that's huge I think because as long as I'm not GAINING I am happy (except for TTOM I expect a gain, I usually get a gain and I'm not going to worry about that because it's gone within 3-7 days anyway all at once). Hopefully you get some great breakfast ideas too.

MamaKat New Haven sounds beautiful, at least the part up the hill :) I'm glad you are wise enough to ask for help and I'm sure everyone appreciates the showering and tooth brushing LOL ;) I'm glad your weight is okay as well.

Um Mescelestus yay? LOL I do know what you mean. Hopefully you'll get over the brunt of it soon.

Woot Rasagolla on the NSVs AND the 2 pounds. I also love the mindset of not missing out. I have to remember I'm doing this to be HEALTHY and I'm not depriving myself of X, Y and Z, I am gaining A through W!

Well 1396 calories yesterday,. 10 minutes (minus warmup and cool down which I don't count) of RKS. It was a "challenge" so 5 lateral rows left, 5 right, 10 squat thrusts jumps (but I used a chair) and 15 push-ups with 20 kettlebell swings rest, rinse and repeat as often as you can in 10 minutes. I used the 26 pound bell and I AM feeling it in the lats today. Apparently my big bell, which I just got out of the garage is 35. I also did day 5 of week 9 of yoga.

Looks like I might have to start buying smaller cupped bras. What really sucks is I got a very expensive push-up at VS several months ago not thinking ahead about weightloss. Waste of money. I could still wear it (under clothes obviously) but it makes my chest look huge in comparison to the rest of my body now. Oh well...there always has to be a downside I suppose. I really wish boobs would stay. :(

I'm going to see if I can still pull off a C cup even though I'm now more like a B.5 () I'd hate to spend money replacing all of them.

Hi, folks. I've been off the boards this week. I hit a rough patch emotionally and simply didn't feel like writing or reading or doing much else. I cheated too many times to count and was on the verge of a binge when I picked up a bag of M&Ms at a gas station convenience store. I ate a couple hands full then scolded myself for what I was doing and actually threw the rest of the bag out the car window into a ditch somewhere along the road. I'm not one to litter so it was an extreme action for me to take. :(

Since I was struggling with an emotional low, I didn't exercise as much as I should have this week, either. I know I will not have lost when I weigh in tomorrow morning but I'm hoping to break even. :o

Aside from dealing with a major case of the blues, I seem to have developed an obsession for V8 vegetable juice. I've gone from having never liked it to drinking as much as 16 oz a day. I've been drinking it with my lunch each day and as a morning snack with a 90-calorie Fiber One bar. The bonus is that, if I stick to the low sodium option, the juice provides lots of nutrition for a low calorie count. :^:

Steph7409

worththeeffort, I hope you feel better soon. The blues suck.

nova, sorry about the loss of boobage. But add me to the list of those impressed with you signing up for a 15K. Good luck!

Serenity and Diana, your workouts sound so challenging! I think it's great that you both do such a variety of exercise.

Rasagolla, nice loss this month!

mescelestus, here's hoping you get better quickly, now that you're officially sick. I know what you mean about wanting to get it started so you can get it over with. I hate the lead up to being sick.

mamakat, I think Ivy League campuses are made to be seen in the fall. Something about the changing leaves and the old buildings.

seabiscuit, no gain is a good thing. Good luck with your healthier and cheaper breakfast ideas.

I surprised myself by running almost all the way around the park yesterday afternoon, with just a couple of brief bits of walking, so I think I ran about 2.5 miles. I walked another lap around, though, and it took me only an extra 5 minutes (35 as opposed to 30), so apparently I run really slowly! Still, I felt pretty good about it.

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

Hi Everyone!

Seabiscuit What did you end up getting for your breakfast from the grocery store? I know Starbucks is a lot more convenient.

Mamakat It's good to see you. I'm glad you checked in. Maybe the next time you can go for a nice walk when you are on the campus. You might have to plan ahead so you will have enough time. I'm not sure how far you live from New Haven. It sounds like a very enjoyable walk for sure.

Novangel Which Jillian program is your favorite? I'm thinking about getting No More Trouble Zones. I like the looks of that video clip the best. Good job on the progress that you have made.

Mescelestus I hope you had a good day. Do you have a cold? I hope it's not the flu. Feel better soon. Had a good day, too.

Rasagolla Congrats on the weight loss and for working on eating ice cream in moderation.

Serenity Good job on the 26 lb. KB! How long will you cousin be in town? When are you having lunch?

Hi everyone,

I was pretty depressed last night due to an upsetting family situation. :( I really don't care to go into the details to protect confidentiality.

Earlier in the day I had purchased a toaster oven which is missing a part I found out when I got home so I have to return it, how irritating and frustrating!

I am hoping to go to the store to exchange the toaster oven soon because then I can start making toast and Eggo Nutri Grain waffles for breakfast that I purchased yesterday too LOL.

Well have a good day everyone!

Diana: Thanks for all the good wishes with quitting DC. Great job on the loss.

Mamakat: Do you think in a way you've felt depressed for so long it's become "normal" for you? Like in a way you don't know or remember what it's like not to feel depressed?

Mescelestus: It's nice to finally get sick instead of just walking around feeling "meh" and waiting for the sickness to happen.

Novangel: I'm with you on bra sizes. I'm a third of the way in terms of weight loss and some of my bras have already become too big for me.

WorthTheEffort: Don't think of how far you have to go in terms of lifestyle, think of how far you've already come. I'm sure that a while back binging practically every day was normal to you, and now you've done it only a couple of times during one week. It's really good progress. Try to focus on the progress you as a person has made and not compare yourself to other.

Rasagolla: Jillian is really effective, and really tough!

SerenityDiva: Seriously good job on the workout.

Seabiscuit: Take care.

4Keeps: Nice ticker!

I'm feeling a little bit better ( finally!!!!) I've officially lasted a week without Diet Coke. The headache is noticeably lesser, my stomach is *digesting* better again, I don't feel like a ranging hormonal troll all the time and I fall asleep quicker.

I've also noticed my skin looks better; it has more of a glow to it. My stomach is flatter; my weigh in is on Monday morning, so I'll see if it's actual weight loss or just the disappearance of bloat.

worththeeffort2

Novangel: I hear you. My girls are shrinking, too. So far as the VS push-up making your chest look huge...I kind of think that's the idea. ;) Something to put on the holiday gift list. (The bras, not the bust. Oh, never mind...)

Steph: There's nothing wrong with running slow. At least you're out there making an effort. Remember, no matter how slow you run, you're moving faster than someone sitting on a couch chowing on potato chips!

Diana: Thanks for the support. I'm starting to feel better.

4Keeps: Congrats on getting that ticker! :cp: You made a pretty one, too!

Mogzy: At least you stuck to only one sweet treat. Now you can let the craving go. I was battling a massive craving for brownies yesterday. I looked up the calorie count and programmed it into my exercise bike (it has a calorie-burn target feature), and worked out 35 minutes to burn those calories instead of eating them. :D

Seabiscuit: Sorry you're feeling down. I'm just coming back up from a major case of the blues, so I feel for you. I hope the situation resolves soon.

Isabella: Glad to hear you're feeling better. Going off caffeine is tough. :p

Although the forecast was for a rainy day, we have lots of sunshine and I plan to take advantage of that. I always feel better once I've been out in the sun for at least 30 minutes. I made one trip doing walk/trot intervals up the hill across from the house on Friday. If my ankle holds up, I would like to do it again today. Steph, I bet I can run slower than you! :snail: Even though I'm not setting any land speed records, I feel good knowing that I'm doing it. That workout really targets the backs of my thighs and my butt, so it's all good. :running:

This week is going to be insanely busy for me. :comp: I'm teaching workshops all day Tuesday and am attending two, 3-hour basic self-defense classes back to back on Wednesday and Thursday. The self-defense class is 12 hours in all. The final six hours take place next week. I'm taking the class as a strategy for addressing my PTSD. The thought is, if I empower myself with basic self-defense training, I'll feel more confident and not panic in certain situations. :cheer2:

Okay, folks, let's do this thing! Happy week to all. :spin:

SerenityDiva

NovaAngel yeah for most women the boobs go. I'm glad about mine, but I am still a C-D cup and probably always will be. I wouldn't mind a B again, but every body is different. And I notice the same thing with diet soda in my abs. No one believed me years ago that I claimed I still gained weight with it, but I did. There must be something that makes us retain fluid. I'm glad you're feeling better and the skin? That's a bonus!!!

 WorthTheEffort I'm sorry you had a bad week. I had this thing for V8 juice a few years ago, in fact it's when I lost a lot of weight for me after this initial gain. I would drink it and eat a cup or 1/2 of cottage cheese. My husband would gross out, but to me it was like pasta...I dunno why. I obviously have "strange" tastes. Hopefully this week will be better and don't forget we all have struggles similar or at least can offer some listening ears when you're having a rough week. I am totally with you on the self-defense being empowering. I do think it will help you more and more. You are in my opinion very smart to work to make yourself a stronger person in all aspects.

Yay Steph on the 2-1/2 miles! I wish I had a love for running.

LOL Diana my RIBS are sore. I can't figure out what it is. I thought it was sleeping funny, but then Friday I did that "challenge" or whatever from RKS with the 10 squat thrust jumps and 15 push-ups, and keep rotating through for 10 minutes...so maybe that? But OTOH Kurt (yoga) has us do this weird pose where you pull your knee to your elbows from a plank or downward dog position, so right knee has left elbow touching, elbows bent 90 degs, and it's twisting your waist/rib area. I have NO waist, meaning I have about 1 inch or less of space between my rib cage and my hip bone, very short torso'd...immediately attempting that move yesterday I nearly doubled over in pain. So it could be that movement, which is modifiable to simple one legged downward dog so whatever I'll modify. Rib soreness ick! I think Kurt calls it running man or something. I've not heard back from my cousin, it's not necessarily a bad thing. She's a 2nd or 3rd cousin, my dad's cousin's daughter and her aunt lives here, and we call his cousins aunts because that's how it was. Anyway she said she thinks Aunt D made plans for her all weekend and so we'll see. I think she's here until Tuesday.

4Keeps congrats on the ticker, and more so congrats on the almost 74 pounds!

Mogzillo at least it was ONE marshmallow and there are worse choices out there. I always laugh at the thing on marshmallows that says "now fat free" because they've always been fat free. I have this thing for dehydrated ones, like in processed cocoa or that Lucky Charms. They started selling them awhile back on the aisle like in a shaker and OMG they are addicting to me. I know it's not tons of calories, but still a bad habit so I stopped.

Amy I'm sending you positivity for your family difficulties right now . Okay that's funny about the toaster oven because when I was a teen the same thing happened to my mom, she was looking forward to something and bought a toaster oven and a part was missing! Sears gave her a lot of grief and I was like "just return it and go somewhere else!" But maybe there is a toaster oven conspiracy ;) Speaking of waffles, my daughter made blueberry pancakes (I don't like breakfast food so this is not tempting) but our house smells like a IHop right now.

Yesterday just the bike (25 minutes) and the mile gained, wasn't there. I just didn't have "it" but if I worked out the same every time every day..I'd get no where so no biggie. I also did week 9's last workout of APY60. Next week it's a longer practice, I have a mammogram scheduled, picking up a new kitten, and dental appointments...while for most people that's not much because of how I am it's a lot for me to do and it's stressing me out a bit, especially with the workout being longer. I will do it, but I hate how rigid I have to be in my schedule to keep my emotions in check. Sucks big time. Also 1496 calories yesterday including one crunchy Taco Bell taco. I wanted nachos, but homemade. However, I also did not want the calories from them so it totally sufficed. The cat house thingie is made, basically a dark stained base kitchen cabinet (the long one) with a little higher end formica (as I refused to pay $400 for a remnant of granite to go over something housing a litter box) and on the side a doggie door. They are used to the doggie door going into their litter box already so it was no biggie. For cat owner's we are trying the sift bags they sell now and if someone is interested I'll let you know what I think. DH wants a new Littermaid Elite and I think it's a waste of money..so that's our newest so interesting life lol.

Serenity, I'm not sure if I love jogging, but I like it more than I thought I would. I went out today, even though it was gray and chilly. My "lap" takes about 10 minutes and burns 75 cals, and I did 4 today. The last walk up the hill had me gasping!

And yay on the new kitten! I have 4 cats (not pictured in my avatar, that's just some generic picture). My youngest is about 2, a rescue I got last year from my back yard. She's a nut and I adore her. I've tried those sifting bags and am "meh" on them but I've got 2 big male cats and they're not particularly tidy in the litter box.

worththeeffort, I hope you got your hill work in. I think it's really good exercise.

Isabella, congrats on making it through the week! I hope your withdrawal symptoms subside.

Diana, I meant to buy some of the WW desserts today but my usual grocery store is being renovated and I can't find anything anymore!

I had a good day: another coat of paint on my stairs (they look good), a 45 minute jog/walk, some cross stitch. I've also been listening to a couple of new Pink songs over and over - lots of energy! Next week is going to be ugly at work, with our last big deadline of the year on the 15th, so I'm trying to get myself mentally prepared. :dizzy:

Hi Everyone!

Isabella I am so glad you are noticing the benefits of eliminating the diet coke. :carrot: Keep up the great work!

Worththeeffort I love the idea of taking the self-defense class to help with PTSD! Have a great week!

Serentiy Do you think it's your ribs or your core that's sore. I know you use your core a lot with KB's. That yoga pose sounds like torture. Maybe that did it. I have a mammogram on Tuesday. Someone in my check-in at VF mentioned about requesting a thyroid protector when you have a mammogram and dental x-rays. You might want to ask about it when you go. I am going to request it when I go for my Mammo on Tuesday. I already have enough thyroid issues. I don't need anything making it worse.

Steph Have a good week. Hang in there, you will get through it. There's another WW's dessert that I am wanting to get. I have to look at their site again. It seems like it's all chocolate, but I don't recall what it is. Which one is your favorite? Good job on the size 6! :carrot:

Congrats Steph on the Size 6! Woohoo!!

Thanks everyone so much for the support. It turns out the toaster oven had all the parts but I had a question about the toaster so I brought it to the store where they explained everything, tried it out tonight at home and it works great! :)

Maybe I should start a separate thread about this, but snacking is a real issue for me, it's pretty much my vice. My meals can be pretty healthy when I decide I want them to be but I definitely snack too much on the wrong foods. Does anyone else do this? What helps you? I just can't get overly interested in fruits and veggies.

Have a great night and start to the week...

seabiscuit Instead of eating 3 regular meals, do you prefer to eat 5 or 6 smaller meals a day? If so, you should be able to make a plan around that. You count points, right? Divide you points up between X number of meals. Plan each mini meal to have a small serving of protein, veggie, etc. If you don't like regular veggies, find a veggie drink, etc that you will like. This is not perfect, but it's better than not getting the veggies at all. Also, try a few different veggies. You might find something that you actually like.

Hello my name is Dawn. I started on 9-22-12 and weighed in at 221. Today my weight was 210. My day pretty much looks like this: (I know it may look strange, but I guess for me it works)

8am: (I'm working on getting up earlier, baby steps) Work out for 60 mins on elliptical
9am: Breakfast: 1 "smoothie" (1 cup Unsweetened plain Almond milk, 1 TBS coconut oil, 1TBS flax meal, 1 TBSP Coconut Flour, 1 packet stevia)
11am: Lunch: 1 meat (usually chicken) & Cauliflower mash (made with butter, almond milk and cheese)
4pm: Snack, coconut water with no grain crackers (homemade, with coconut or almond flour) with cream cheese or salsa. (**sometimes I don't have a snack)
6pm: Dinner: Meat of choice, salad or soup also homemade, veggies & cauliflower "rice"
If later I am still feeling like "snacking" I drink a herbal tea.
I try to keep my food to less than 1500 a day.

**Sometimes I add walking on my treadmill for 30-60 mins (so this is a total of almost 2 hrs exercise) and so I don't have time for that snack.

I'm sure it may look like I am not getting enough calories or maybe it looks like I am exercising too much. BUT I am pretty much sedetary so I have to throw in as much exercise as I can, or else I wont lose any weight. I always get enough calories, thats why I add the coconut oil & coconut flour.

It finally feels like Fall! It went from the 170's to the 150's overnight! My DD and I went for a walk and had to wear coats. The leaves on the trees were beautiful! I love this weather and can't wait to take another long walk tomorrow. I'm on my TOM, so my weight is up. I just need to stop giving into my cravings!

I canned pumpkin on Friday, and my DD and I made pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting yesterday. Mmmm.....not good for my calories! We gave half away, my DH ate a huge piece, and there is still enough left that I'm struggling! I ate one piece yesterday, avoided it today, and am going to send it to work with my DH tomorrow. I REALLY want to just heat it up and eat it, though. I can do this! Next time I'm going to make something healthier...a fruit bowl perhaps tomorrow! ;)

Ok, I'm headed downstairs for a midnight snack of fruit...all this talk about what I'm avoiding is driving me crazy! Have a wonderful start to your week, everyone!

Well, I went downstairs, cut up a pineapple, and informed my DH that he needs to take the cake to work. There...now I'll have it out of the house, arti I have lovely pineapple to snack on when I get my sweets craving. :) Goodnight...it's now after 1am, but I feel good about starting my week temptation free! :carrot:

Hi everyone,

I sure am tired. I had a mini asthma attack so I went to the ER again and got a neb. treatment, and meds, am not going to work tomorrow, am going to try to see a doc instead.

Diana, Thanks for the support. I haven't been tracking lately but will start again soon. Typically I eat 3 meals with snacks.

Welcome Dawn! How cool  that you're from the DFW area of TX, I was born in Dallas ;) When I was young my Dad's job moved my family up northeast but I have gone back once to visit. Anyways, this is a great thread and forum! Enjoy!

4keeps, canning pumpkin sounds like fun ;) Good job on telling your hubby to take the cake to work :carrot: I am also in PA now, in Bucks County, a beautiful area.

Have a great day everyone!

Serenitydiva, Yeah it's not the calories that bother me, (managed to stay under 1500 all weekend) but the lack of nutritional value as you pointed out, not the best habit, I'm getting there though, gone from a daily non-nutritional sweet to about twice a week. The true victory for me though will be when I can stop craving sweets in the evenings.

Worththeeffort2 programming the calories of a treat into the exercise machine seems like a good strategy, well done for not caving.

Today I'm doing a 20 hour fast, (including sleep time) I've started doing this once or twice a week to remind myself what real hunger feels like. It's tough though and I have a 2000 word case study to finish for work so may eat early if the hunger is affecting my concentration too much.

Good Morning, Everyone! Let's make it a great week!

I finished closing out my monthly books over the weekend. I will start going through all of my Mom's paperwork this week. It takes up the whole trunk of my car and 1/2 of the back seat. I am going to try to shred what needs to be shredded on my own. If that gets too overwhelming I take it all to the community shredding event on the 18th. Standing in line with all of that stuff overwhelms me even more.

I will be back later for personals.

Monday Morning WI 176.6 down 2.4lbs...finally.

I'm still not moving or eating regularly...I eat when hungry though. I'm craving chocolate ice cream, something fierce. I don't usually crave chocolate of any kind, but we've been trying to think of something to help with the cravings. It's hard to find low carb yummy chocolate treats and the SF pudding packs tear up my tummy...which hasn't recovered yet :(

Isabella Yes, to your question about my depression. I have only known this as my "norm" feeling as I had no joy growing up. We are trying to pinpoint one happy memory, but have yet to find one...that's sad and it leads to this kind of mood, I guess. So although, it would be considered clinical depression for most, for me, it's normal. I get asked like 4 questions when I enter any doctors office...How am I? Do I feel like harming myself or others? Am I sleeping? And, can I find joy (even if it's short term and a book or video)? If I can answer those on a positive note, the fact that I haven't showered, brushed my teeth or eaten enough (as long as I'm eating) doesn't concern them as much. For others, doctors would worry, but for me, it's not unusual. When I can not find joy is when they get concerned...joy is a hard one for me. And normally, I find it in exercise, but right now I'm only finding it in writing which is still okay.

Diana I'd say send all that paper my way, man, shredded paper is the best when it comes to rats. They love it way more than their bedding and it's free ;) I have never heard of community shredding, sounds interesting. Promotes recycling, yes? DH bought me a shredder for Xmas last year  don't ask me why, I can't remember if I said I wanted one or not. I ask for the weirdest things...but I use it! I love shredding...call me crazy :p

seabiscuit I hope you feel better today. Take care of yourself

4 Keeps Pumpkin cake? Sounds divine. I miss cake so much. This will be my second year going without pumpkin pie for the holidays...man, so unfair. I would have devoured that cake then paid for it later. I'm so glad I don't bake, I'd be in serious danger...I love pineapples, too. Did DH take the cake with him?

Dawn :welcome: I thought everything looked yummy and healthy. Are you gluten intolerant...I have Celiac's disease, so no gluten for me. Your mashed cauliflower sounds awesome!

Steph WTG on the size 6 pants...we've had vanity sizes for years now, so aren't they standard by now...size 6, awesome. My lowest was an 8, I'd be way happy to see that again. Great job.

So DD has encouraged me to put my writing out on the internet. She's part of this forum or site (aren't I internet savvy?). She showed me around yesterday and told me to post 2 chapters at a time, giving the reader tastes  I'm gonna wait til I get feed back. Once it's out there, I fear anyone can grab it, although, there are copyright laws attached. Nail biting...I don't usually share mah stuff, but DD is letting me read the latest novel to her and she keeps complimenting me, this sounds like a real book, you should publish. She's in awe, I can write complete works. She starts then gets bored and never knows where to go next while I, of course, plan the whole thing out before written. I told her, at her age, I did the same thing. My first complete novel was written at 15, but I threw it away due to religious reasons...ugh, my first novel!

Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful and healthy day!

LOL Steph our female is the worst. She won't even bury her stuff. They are big cats (15 and 20 pounds) and we use a deep big litter box, as well as a Booda. She will use clay or scoopable litter, but nothing else. Regardless, she's a slob. My nearly 3-year-old is and always has been good about that. He's a sweetheart. So is my girl, but just messier. I hope work isn't too terrible and it goes by fast!

IsabellaOlivia you are inspiring too!

Thanks Diana I will ask about it, apparently it's usually there but not common to be used? I don't see why not it can't harm you being used but the jury is out if it helps you. Still if it can't harm you, why don't they use it? It may be the core, but I dunno because I've been doing bells for what 3 weeks now and this is all of a sudden...who knows. Hopefully it will abate soon because I still get it in certain positions.

Amy what helps me is NOT having junk in the house. Sure it sucks for other people, but they don't NEED it either (my husband needs to lose a lot of weight and my kids don't need the crappy foods in the house as far as I'm concerned). Otherwise I do lower calorie options but after awhile I don't have snack cravings except for healthy things so it may be just a matter of time? Obviously Diana's suggestions are great too! I learned to love..okay like...fruit. I love veggies so I can use them a lot! Amy I hope the doctor's appointment helps.

Yay on the Jillian NovaAngel!

Welcome Dawnrnay3 to *me* your plan looks fine. Remember they are finding out more and more that the obligatory 30 minutes of exercise 3 days a week is NOT ENOUGH for weight loss, and even health. Two hours seems like a lot to some folk, but to me unless you've got some super physical job I don't feel it's "too" much. YMMV and I'm sure you will get criticism from some, but I feel we don't move enough in life. WTG on the weight loss so far!!! I live north of Dallas :D

4keeps good to "see" you! I love pumpkin and cream cheese, there is a lady here who does a roll yearly like that and I will eat it when she does, but not a lot because it's too filling anyway. Great plan for the cake and I'm sure his coworkers will appreciate it.

Mogzillo I hear you on the nutritional value. I remember the Twinkie study a few years ago and it just proved to me what I've told people (I was a personal trainer) that calories COUNT period, but nutrients do as well. I know for me personally I could probably eat Coca Cola and Lay's all day long for the first 90% of my weight loss, but after that I'd HAVE to watch macros or I will not get off that last percentage. Also obviously for health. I think a lot of people get analysis paralysis in deciding what to eat and how to start, thinking it's ALL OR NOTHING...so nothing. I think it's just reducing calories and replacing the bad empty nutrients with good ones, eventually it's second nature for the majority of foods and weight loss and health follow. But again that's just my thinking. Also I do semi-fast to see what hunger is because I like that slight feeling of being hungry, not all day long, but like when I am slightly hungry and dinner is in an hour, I can definitely deal with it. I do NOT have blood sugar issues (tested 2x a year at the doctor and several diabetic friends seem to love to prick me) so it works for me. My husband has panic attacks as soon as he's hungry. He's convinced it's diabetes issues, but he's been tested more times than most people and he's not. I think he wants it to be so he has an excuse to eat like a maniac. I mean literally a PIE is a snack to him versus a slice. Oh well.

MamaKat I think it's great about the novel, but man I feel your pain for throwing it out. It is hard I think for those of us who grew up in "less than ideal" circumstances to "get" the childhood joy thing. My husband always talks about his wonderful childhood and all these fantastic memories of less stress and yada yada. I did NOT feel that way. I SURVIVED. I was more stressed out during my childhood especially after my parents divorced than at ANY TIME during my adulthood. I don't think I mentioned here but as an example my sister got killed, I found out I was pregnant (unplanned) and my husband left all within about a 3 week period. The next 3 months I lost two other friends and my pets because of my husband's and my upcoming divorce (I'm remarried) I couldn't afford them or the $50K in bills he left me with....and THAT was less stressful than childhood. My current husband does not get it and it's difficult to discuss with some friends because they had great childhoods...or remember them as great LOL. Anyway I think writing will be therapeutic for you and again I love your daughter's wisdom and empathy towards you. You should be so happy and proud to have such a great kiddo!

ANYWAY, yesterday 1696 calories, and 45 minutes of yin type yoga. Diana it was Yummy Yoga and I hated it. I bought it years ago and remembered why I don't like it. The MUZAK SUCKS. Her voice is irritating to me. She sounds like Margot Kidder after 100 cigarettes and no water for days...just makes me want to tense up and not relax. Plus she had all these warnings about how if you copy this tape (it's a video originally but I bought DVD) may you have stiff and sore muscles the rest of your life. To me it seemed kind of tacky to have a warning like a curse. I emailed the girl I told you about and she's taking it too thank goodness. It just felt like bad karma all the way around.

4Keeps: Haha. Nicely done on the cake.

Seabiscuit: Do you know what triggered the attack? Do you regularly have to take medication?

Mamakat: E.L James published her own novel, she is the author of the 50 Shades of Grey triology and for her it turned out pretty freaking well. She has sold 20 million books, and got paid 10 million dollars for the movie rights to her books. Publishing on your own can lead to great things.

SerenityDiva: I'm with you on the childhood. Having a **** upbringing is bad enough, however, it's also extra difficult because those people who grew up in stable homes cannot possible relate to what it was like for us.

I'm down 0.4 pounds since last week. Currently at 139.3. I'm surprised because I only did one workout last week as compared to my normal six, because quitting Diet Coke made me feel flulike sick the whole week.

I deliberately ate low calorie, yet healthy for breakfast and lunch, so I could work going out and eating Chinese food into my calorie allowance.

I'm not a regular poster in this thread, so I apologize for intruding... I just needed a place to post some thoughts.

The past four days have been... not good. I've been feeling somewhat sick (plus having a persistent headache) and while I haven't binged, my eating has been lousy. Also my period started about five days early - that never happens. And to top it all off both my upstairs and downstairs neighbors have been behaving like morons - the constant noise while having a headache just hurts. I'm so, so tired.

OK, now I know something is off. While brushing my teeth :) I had the urge to vomit so I finished up quick. Made it just in time. Then while trying to get dressed, I fell over. I was just standing there and didn't realize I was falling until I hit the ground  Once down stairs, doing laundry (look at me go today) I fell over again. I am having the weirdest vertigo today. I haven't had it in years, so I'm out of my meds for it. After 6 loads of laundry I went back to bed, hoping I'd sleep it off. I haven't but it's kind of funny that a person can fall over and not even realize they're falling until it's way too late. I haven't dared the stairs twice...I'm smarter than that.

SerenityDiva,

Thanks for the tips. I try to not bring some 'binge foods' into the apt., but I do let myself have some snacks. Sometimes I do end up buying one or two of the binge foods and just end up overeating. I used to like fruit a lot more than I do now, I eat way too many carbs and sugars. I also waste a lot of money eating out like I think I have shared here, like pastries at Starbucks, etc. I hope I can find a happy medium between depriving myself of foods I enjoy and not overdoing it.

IsabellaOlivia,

I don't know what triggered the attack, thanks for asking. I have had asthma most or all of my life. I think the cold weather makes things worse.

Well, I wasted a lot of points on snacks today, ugh. That's something I've gotta work on.

Oh well.

Have a good night.

Rabbit, good luck getting back on track. It's hard when life's annoyances pile up.

mamakat, good for you being brave enough to put your work out there! And I hope your vertigo clears up.

Serenity, I agree with you that most of us don't move enough but I hate reading headlines like "Sitting too much will kill you." I have an office job and pretty much have to sit all day. I try to get up as often as possible (drinking a lot of water and having a teeny bladder helps with that!) but I can't do my job standing up.

I was doing okay with my eating today until late afternoon when I got into my granola and couldn't stop until I felt full. Well, I should say, didn't stop. I have to keep fighting my compulsion but today I failed. I had a good workout when I got home - 20 minutes on the bike and then 50 minutes of weights - so I feel better now.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!:thanks:

Hi Diana, and Seabicuit! Seabiscuit do you miss Texas?

Hi Mamakat - No I'm not gluten intolerant, nor do I have Celiac's. I actually was a vegetarian for almost 4 years. I spent those years eating a large amount of carbs from beans, fruit, wheat and grains. I gained so much weight. Just recently I came across a website by Maria Emmerich, called Maria's Nutritious and Delicious Journal. I'm too new to add the link! This woman saved me from destroying my body. If anyone wants to learn how to truly eat healthy please google her! I eat clean and healthy for the first time. I still have so much to learn. I love cauliflower mash! I can eat it alone without a main dish! But because it doesn't have a whole lot of calories I have to add the butter and cheese.

serenitydiva - Hi and thanks for the encouraging words! I have read a lot about upping the amount of exercise because people, like me, who stay at home to raise kids, don't get as much daily activity as those who work or are on their feet all day. I do have a 3 year old at home so he keeps me busy. In reality it's still not enough so I have to do at least 60 mins, I do try to do up to 2 hrs. But, so I don't give up and quit, I only make 60 minutes everyday mandatory. I want SO BAD to be out of the 200 lb range!! I'm glad to see someone else from North Texas! We've had great weather, haven't we?

Good Morning Everyone,

Thanks for all the well wishes, not sure it's true vertigo, two new symptoms have arrived: everything tastes like mustard and smells like fish. It's irritating, to say the least, but funny too...sort of. Anyway, thanks again.

seabiscuit glad you are feeling better...I hope you have a good day back to work.

rachel :welcome: this is a great place to be for support. Have you set some small goals? They are very encouraging when you meet them. One of my goals was, I'd run up some stairs (the highest in my town) to the Rocky Theme once I broke the 200 mark. That was a lot of fun and it gave me the fight to get under the 200. I try to treat myself for every ten pounds, too. For my hundred pounds lost, I got myself a new tatoo. Fun, no food, things really help to encourage us. Good luck.

Dawn I am a clean eater as well, except for diet soda, Atkins bars for sweets. Everything else is fresh and cooked the day I eat it, LOL, I don't cook. I am going to mention the mashed cauliflower though, I miss potatos...but they don't support a low carb diet. Do you think that book would be in a public library?

Diana I actually would have had to call a doctor to get meds put in. I really need to go see a GP. I see only specialists and I haven't had a cold or flu so no need for a GP. I dumped my quack over 2 years ago and then made one visit to a new one, I had hoped she could be the go to for all my meds, but it doesn't work like that with the specialized things...money grumbing so...okay, I'll stop. So I'm gonna watch for the next couple of days. I don't feel dizzy that's what's throwing me off. I usually know when I have vertigo because it makes me sicker than a dog. But I had no idea until I went down without knowing I was falling...that hasn't happened before. Usually my world spins then I fall. This was like a tree falling peacefully with no complaints... I wish I had cameras following me around sometimes. :p

Steph good job on working out. afternoon snacking is hard for me to control too. I eat unsalted peanuts. Sometimes, for no reason other than the crunch. I like eating them like popcorn while watching or reading. If I don't watch myself, I can eat a half of a bottle :(

Alrighty then, it's Tuesday. I feel like I was just in New Haven. I hope whatever is off doesn't turn on while driving or in the office. Boy that would so not be good. Only thing different is probiotics for the tummy trouble, that still is troubling. Who knows...just go with the flow, I suppose :) As long as my weight moves down, all is good...okay, not all but at least I'm still positive :D

Have a wonderful and healthy day!

Hello all

I am so totally far behind! Will try to catch up on all my reading tonight... rushing off to work now.

Had a fabulous weekend at the church reunion and visiting with my friend! Didn't lose any weight but not surprising as it is harder when away from home. But did not gain any either!!!

Hi everyone

My fast went okay yesterday but only made 18 hours before I started thinking about food, then looking at pictures of food on the Internet and realised I better eat something and get back to work! I did manage to finish my case study.

Today has been a busy day, gym in the morning with Tabata training, leg press and core work, lots of meetings at work and Zumba this afternoon with friends, (not my favourite, it's more about the friends)

Serenitydiva agree with you completely on how difficult it is to choose healthy luckily I've always been more moderate than all or nothing so don't worry too much about making a poor choice in a moment of weakness. LOL at your husbands pie snacking, my husband can't handle being hungry either, our vacations revolve around his stomach he's 6.2 though so puts it away with no problems the bugger.

I do get really low blood sugar, not from diabetes or anything, just happens. So the fasting was really difficult at first and I only do it on day's I don't train otherwise I have mini blackouts. Now somehow I seem to get the shakes and dizzies less though I'm still pretty prone to a foul temper when hungry so try and save my first meal on a fast day for about an hour before I commute home so I don't lose it with my husband. Again with this I don't take an all or nothing approach and just see how it goes.

Mamakat so impressed that you are writing complete works, always been a dream of mine.

Oh MamaKat vertigo and nausea are the WORST! I hope it gets better. I don't have many days like that, but when I do ARGH. I just want to lay down because I hate feeling lightheaded...and the nausea....I hate throwing up. I don't know what "true" vertigo is necessarily, but it sounds crappy enough. Mustard and fish? Never heard of that, but I do know we lived in a rental once that was later found to have toxic and allergic mold and I lost my taste of smell. The ONLY thing I could taste were dill pickle chips. It took months to get things to normal for me and our dog never fully recovered (he lost most of his coat).

Amy you'll figure it out :) I have no doubts. Sorry you can't take today off too.

LOL Steph my husband tried to invent a way I could work standing up. I did (until May) medical transcription for 20+ years, the last 15 or so completely at home. Well standing and using a foot pedal and all that...so not gonna happen. I sometimes wish I kept my first job, in house, half transcription and half charting because at least I was running around. WTG on the workouts!

Masterptr :welcome:

Diana I totally forgot to ask yesterday too! Oh well hopefully not a big deal.

Dawnrnay I am loving the weather! It's funny after the kids I usually was more active, but got to be a slug (I wrote above I was doing transcription 20+ years--so sitting all day long) and I know that is one of the huge contributors to my weight gain. I knew it was bad when I would have like things arranged so I didn't have to get up out of my desk chair...pathetic LOL.

Rachellosesitall you CAN definitely do that or darn near 85. Just keep yourself honest and you'll get there!

Misti good to see you! You've been busy and I think that's a good thing personally :D

Mogzillo you sound busy too! That's good :) LOL my husband gets in a BAD mood too. I do know he was raised that his mom gave them (and still does) sweets to appease them and I think that he's connected food/sweets with feeling better so he does that when moody too instead of something else. I wish I could say he could put it away (he's 6 foot even) but he can't he's heavier than he ought to be.

Yesterday the 30 minute Skogg instructional. I decided that RKS is good, but everyone I know has a huge love of Skogg (kettlebells) an one of my good online friends has lost a LOT (I think 120 pounds) with that and diet alone. So while I know it's "only six moves over and over" I figured for *me* KISS is better than attempting stuff that might be out of my league for now. Either way you guys know me keep moving :) I did 1468 calories yesterday and yoga as well.

Serenity, Steph, Diana Isabella Thanks for the well wishes!!! Sorry I've been MIA when I'm not at work I am not on the computer. I think this very well could be the flu; I'm weak and have the chills and I'm exhausted! I CAN'T take any time off from work though :/ This is the first time I'm sick in a year so I'm due one...but it came when I was doing so well. I can't work out how I usually do, and keeping my eating in check when I'm sick may as well be a fairy tale. But I'm assuming come the weekend I'll be better :) How are you guys? How were your weekends?

Hi Rachell, welcome! Good luck with your weight loss journey.

Hello Seabiscuit! I absolutely love North Texas. I don't live in Dallas, I am actually closer to Fort Worth, in Keller. The weather takes some getting used to here. Summers are too hot! What's Pennsylvania weather like? I bet it's beautiful there!

MamaKat- I try very hard to eat a low carb, sugar free, grain/ gluten free, and legume free diet. I looked up Maria's books in my library and they don't have them at mine. BUT, if you read her blogs, website or even her facebook, you wont need the books right away. She is a nutritionist so she has so much useful info about foods and why you shouldn't eat something. It's one thing for someone to say "you shouldn't eat that", but another when they explain why. Anyway I base my recipes on hers, you can find a lot for free on her website. I don't crave potatoes at all anymore. In fact I tasted some i made for my husband and kids and I wrinkled my nose lol. I guess I'm used to cauliflower. I used to drink coke zero a lot! But I just stopped buying it and with it out of site I don't miss it. I have bought Zevia. It's 0 calories and made with stevia. Tastes fine to me. They have different fizzy flavors. And it's all natural. Hope you are feeling better with the vertigo!

serenitydiva I can relate! When I worked, (it's been 6 years since I decided to stay home with my kids) I had a job where I sat at a desk. I think it made me lazy. I still get sluggish and like to sit. I need to work on that!

Hoping today I can exercise two hours...I'm thinking about splitting it up and not doing it all at once!

Hello. I have been gone for 5 months and felt lost. I am back on the journey to health finding my way. I miss how encouraging people were here. I have been off of work with arthritic knees and waiting on work to find a new position for me and job searching in the meantime.
I have the flu and have for 3 days now. I feel lethargic and did not go to aqua fitness today. On the plus side I am back and on the wagon.

Although I am not sure how consistent I will be or how well I will do with personals, I am back. I will just need to take it one day at a time . . . I've already blown today :-). My eating habits had not been very good for quite some time, but really tanked after my mom had her stroke. I know I need to do better . . . my mom would want me to take care of myself.

My beautiful mom entered the gates of heaven on Saturday, September 29. She is now whole, healthy and no longer in pain. She left this world surrounded by loved ones who will miss her greatly but she was greeted by loved ones who have gone before her. What an honor it was to be able to spend her final days with her showing her how much she was truly loved and cherished. I had stayed overnight with her in the hospital the night before she passed away and was holding her hand when she took her final breath. My heart is both sad and happy. Sad for those of us left behind but happy for my mom that she is reunited with my dad, my sister and other loved ones and they are rejoicing in heaven. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers over the past weeks and days. It is greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone,

As always, I greatly appreciate everyone's support ;)

Unfortunately, this morning I had another asthma attack! :?: I'm not really sure what is causing this. I see my lung doc tomorrow after work. This attack was slightly worse than yesterday's and I had tried the home treatments so I called the same doc on call and went back to the ER. They were very nice but I am getting SO tired of not feeling well. I feel better now though, not 100% but getting closer.

I plan on going to work tomorrow, three days off is grounds for dismissal without a doc's note but I have had only two days off and have two doc's notes. My bosses have seemed understanding.

I didn't track my points today, but I think I did pretty well thus far. I have been meaning to track but in light of the crazy situation with my health, I think it is okay to skip my point tracking for a day, although I want to get back on track with that.

I went to physical therapy for my neck and back tonight and it felt really good to be at least slightly active without having an attack even though it was really only stretches and electric stimulation. :^:

Dawn, I am glad you enjoy TX, I have family in Plano. I would love to go back to visit to get back to my roots... How far is Plano from the DFW area?
PA is fun and beautiful yes! Thanks for asking ;)

Thanks everyone again for all your kindness ;)

Take care and have a great evening, I'll probably pop back in later or tomorrow provided my internet is up. It was really weird, last night my internet went off in the middle of the night, I think the internet company was working on technical issues. I'll keep my fingers crossed for connection, I love this thread!!

Hi everyone

Got through all my reading your posts and trying to get back into the swing of things. I stayed on track with my eating today.... too "out of it" to post the details LOL but I would not be ashamed to, ha. I wanted to be sure to post though, as I don't want to get out of the habit and mess up!!

:welcome3: to the newbies... and best wishes to all of you!

Edited to add: Oh! I should say this... at the church reunion someone was taking photos of everyone and even though I am still fat and embarrassed... especially these massive boobs... I was "okay' with letting her post them in an album on Facebook. I was actually surprised to see how much smaller I look in the photos than I did just a few months ago.

Hi Everyone!

Dawn It won't take long and you will be out of the 200's. I remember that was a major accomplishment for myself. I would split up the workouts, if you can. Maybe do some in the AM and PM. It will give you time to recover and re-energize.

Seabiscuit I wonder if stress is causing the issues with asthma?

Mamakat How did you feel today? I'm curious if you have an inner ear issue?

Misti Good job on maintaining while you were away. Congrats on the NSV of feeling comfortable with your pictures. :carrot:

Mogzillo I hope you had fun today Zumba(ing) with your friends.

Serentiy I posted this at my check-in at VF. A friend there suggested the thyroid protector originally. This morning I went for my yearly mammogram. I mentioned the thyroid/throat protector. They had one and used it on me. They wanted to mention ahead of time that we might have to take extra views if the protector got in the way. It didn't and everthing went well. The tech said that some people have problems with the protector because their neck is shorter and/or they are not as flexible. I was able to maneuver around how she needed me to do. Also, she mentioned that the protector is not as necessary with the mammogram because their machine has some brackets/pieces already in place. She said they they are more important with dental x-rays. Something about the scatter field (:?:) being greater with those machines vs. the mammogram machine. I will request the protector when I need dental x-rays the next time, too.

I would also suggest this at your dental appointments. They always use the chest protector.

I prefer to keep things simple, too. That's why I prefer basic lifting. I don't like it in the first place. No need to confuse things or risk getting hurt. I have issues with KCM's weight work. She does all kinds of weird moves.

Mescelestus I hope you start feeling better soon. My weekend was good. Looking forward to the next one. ;)

Masterptr Awesome job on the 8 miles!

Pluckypear Good to see you check in. So sorry about you having the flu. It must be going around already. Good job on getting back on track.

Kris I was so sorry to hear about you losing your Mom. Please come and post whenever you like or get a chance. I know what you are going through is very difficult. Your Mom would want you to take care of yourself. You also have those little ones to think of. I can honestly say there is nothing like losing a Mom. It is one of the hardest things ever. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Isabella Good job on that walk! Are you able to have a small piece of chocolate or will that cause more problems for you?

Thanks ladies for the welcome. Today was blah, I only ate two meals today so I'm under calorie but we haven't gone grocery shopping so there's not much to do about that until we do.

I keep starting over, and I hate that. I just want to convince myself that I can do it and actually do it. It's harder because my husband eats what he wants but is physical almost daily because he's military. I feel bad and may have had another wake up moment because I noticed he's gained some weight and on his belly (which used to be flat) he has FRESH stretch marks!

I almost cried for him, he thought they were just scratches but they aren't. I'm gonna try and make them less visible by getting him some palmers but I can't help but blame myself. Seeing him getting bigger makes me want to care for him and force us both to get into shape. Of course I can't force anyone to eat better, but I can incorporate more healthy foods and make an example of myself. I have a body covered with stretch marks and they are light because I'm darker skinned. Of course they are so old, they can't go away unless I get laser treatments or something. I don't want him to have insecurities about his body because he's ignoring his bad eating habits and gaining.

Hi Pluckypear welcome back. It doesn't matter that you fell off, what matters is how quickly you are willing to get back up. You can do it!

MamaP- I'm so very sorry for your loss. I send prayers your way.

Misti- My pic that I have as my 3FC profile, my sister in law took and tagged me in facebook. I cried. And cried. I cried because I swear I didn't know I was "that" fat. When I looked in my mirror I thought I was just overweight. But that was such a wakeup call. I can't wait to see what I look like skinny..er.

seabiscuit- I hope you're feeling better. Asthma is aweful, my 18 year old has it, we think my 6 year old may have it too. I think we are about 40-45 minutes from Plano. I am in Keller which is closer to Fort Worth than Dallas.

Diana- Thanks for your encouragement!

Rachell, Even skinny people get stretch marks. Could be that some people have skin that stretches better than others. But to remove them I hear hurts!

I stayed under 1500 calories and exercised for 1hr 35 minutes on the elliptical...I get more and more excited when I think about taking off this fat suit, I swear the zipper is stuck!

Welcome Rachel, I hear ya about starting over, I have been there and done that. Believe in yourself! Think about why you want a positive change in your life.
You can do it :)

Dawn, thanks for the kind words. I am sorry about your kids having asthma. Do they see a pulmonologist? Those doctors specialize in lung and respiratory issues. I am seeing mine today and he is helpful. They can order specialized tests too. Good luck, feel free to private message me anytime ;)

Diana, I am not sure if stress is contributing to my asthma or not but good thought there. I think the weather doesn't help.

Well tonight I am an insomniac due to my asthma meds revving me up. This is frustrating but I am breathing better, yay! :)

I will be sleep deprived at work :( but I will be at work finally, phew with doc notes in hand.

Take care

Amy

update- I decided to weigh myself early today to get a ballpark of what the doc's scale will say and I gained three pounds :( I called the 24 hour pharmacist and he said it could definitely be temporary water retention. Phew, temporary! I have been watching what I eat and will continue to do so on WW so I hope the weight will lessen or not jump much higher. SO frustrating but a relief that it is probably only temporary. It's just so irritating that I can't be very active to get the weight off- grr! I just have to keep believing in myself to ride out the highs and lows of life and of the scale LOL!

MamaP your mother sounds like an amazing person, I hope you'll cope okay during this time and get some joy from your memories of her, however bittersweet.

SerenityDiva yep I like to keep really busy when I'm going through a healthy stage. Which I don't take for granted as I have a couple of chronic conditions to manage. Funny your husbands eating issues sound a little similar to mine, it is really tough and frustrating to inspire loved ones to be healthy. Mine is doing much better with eating and exercise but still smokes ):

Diana Zumba was quite fun, but I was pretty tired and must have looked something like a limp noodle.

Thanks for the welcomes! Managed to eat well and exercise plenty yesterday. Today is swimming later, which I find difficult, I'm not the best swimmer and find the combination of painful goggles, chlorine, sharing lanes with super strong swimmers and having to wear a swimming costume all quite daunting. It's supposedly the best exercise for me though so I've committed to going once a week despite my issues.

Hi everyone,

I don't mean to be a grouch this morning but I am definitely not in a good mood. I only got about a half hour of sleep total last night! GRRR! I feel so frustrated that my moods have been more labile with this asthma medicine and the weight gain I shared about earlier is really really ticking me off. I just want to lose this weight and move forward in my life but I feel like I have so many obstacles in my life, definitely not how I want my life to have turned out. :?: Ok, I don't want to start crying again.

I am going to talk to the doc about the water retention and mood excitability today among other concerns.

I just feel so upset.

I have a post written in Depression and Weight Issues for anyone who is interested.

Thanks again everyone.

Have a good day.

Good Morning Everyone,

Thank you for all the well wishes, I'm still not feeling quite right, but I'm thinking and therapist agrees, its probably a bug that's messing with my head and body, since tummy is still upset and I'm not my norm as far as vertigo.

Diana My vertigo is in the brain...we've checked the ears, several times. It was triggered by Demerol. I took Demerol for my first colonoscopy in 2009, I believe. It nearly killed me (I wish I were joking). I couldn't move my eyeballs without vomiting. For 3 days, I vomited so much that I had nothing left in me to feed or hydrate me. They tried anti-vomiting meds (so not fun) and nothing. I had to lay on the floor because any slight movement of the bed would make me go off again. For years following, I'd get bouts of vertigo with no reasons so I had to start carrying around my med for that...just another form of prescription motion sickness med. If it's bad, I have to sit completely still and take the med...30 mins in between so that we know they are actually getting in and how many. They knock you right out after three :D BUT, what I'm dealing with now is lightheadedness, not dizzy spins, like when you've drank way too many tequilas  SO definitely no Demerol for this chick.

Isabella I waaaant chocolate too. Yesterday we did the 'tapping' again, oh my gosh I felt like crap! I was in such a funk. I talked myself into the chocolate ice cream I've been craving. I said, one day won't kill me...I need a hug :( It was awful, BUT I had to pee and once home (after the potty) I just plopped down on the bed and cried some more...never got a hug, but DH brought me SF stouffer's chocolate mint patties...not the ice cream I wanted but you know, it was nice anyway. Hang in there. How are you doing with no Diet Coke...I don't know how you do it.

Misti I never let anyone take my pic, ever. And when they'd catch me off guard (usually MIL) I'd be eating! This woman used to do the whole, this is our vacation in an album and pass it around. OMG! We spent a summer with her and her DH at a cabin at a lake, the last time I ever wore a bathing suit. I wore it only to encourage the children in body image...what the heck was I think...near 300 pounds am I'm trying to teach my babies, it's all good no matter the size. My MIL got me in the suit, eating a hot dog! And yep, that got passed around. Some people only know/remember me by those pictures, so they are surprised when DH posts new pics of me on Facebook. Now I like seeing the changes, but boy I did not appreciate them years ago!

pluckypear welcome back, glad to have you.

rachel does Palmers really work? I look like I'm wearing a corduroy from head to toe, all different kinds of sizes and colors. I was wondering, if maybe your DH could be a workout buddy? I used to workout with a group of men from the Army...man, they are hardcore in the exercise, but very encouraging at the same time.

seabiscuit I hope your doctor brings you good news today. We fluctuate in water weight throughout the day. I fluctuate 4 pounds up and down. That's why I only take first morning weight and only count Mondays. Don't stress about it, if you know you are doing the right thing than it will come off. Sometimes it feels like everything is going wrong when it's our bodies, getting confused about what's going right. Give yourself time to adjust...like for instance when we stop a habit...smoking, diet coke...we feel like crap to the point it feels like death, but we know it's good for us and eventually it will even out. You are giving your body a chance at life, don't give up and remember you are worth the effort. Cry all you want, it's therapeutic, it relieves stress and it sounds like right now things are stressful.

OK, my personal time was eaten up by my chatty son, who is never chatty, so I had to listen (I love him :)). I'm sorry I didn't get to everyone, good morning to all of you. I will try to stop back later to give a special hi to everyone :) For now, my cab needs to be put into motion.

Have a wonderful and healthy day!

Good morning, all! Yay, my ticker finally went down. And it is 247.0 so there is still a chance later while getting ready for work that it will hit 246! I have my new mini-ticker all picked out! Only 17 pounds now before I can go back to the surgeon for this breast reduction!

Mamakat, I think it is unbelievably rude to take someone's photo without their permission and when you know they do not want it -- especially the "sneak" unflattering ones. Even moreso to post them online or pass them around. I have made people take mine off of Facebook.

I hate to wear swimsuit also but I'll do it to get thin! Also, I made my own which is less brief and to hold in my mega boobs. Black biker shorts and silky type tank top (the kind you wear under sheer blouses) and can wear a black bra with it. Works for me!! It is embarrassing to be so fat and wear it but I figure at least I am trying to do something about it!!

Have a successful day, everyone!!!

Edited to add: Yipppeeeee here is 246!!!! No time to trade in the mini ticker for a new one but you can be sure I will remember to do it tonight LOLOLOL. There is actually a "3" in the middle of my goal mini ticker!! Just have to get there

TTOM is kicking my butt and I have the sleepy's this morning. I'm thinking this is NOT going to be one of those never ending 2+ week TTOM's though! If it's a normal TTOM, to me, that means that it was longer earlier this year because my thyroid meds were too low.

Calories for yesterday: 1470 + :coffee:
Weigh In: 152.4 (TTOM)
Up: .4

I'll be back later to do personals.

@dawn That's the thing, he's gained weight in a badddd way like myself from our diet. He works out nearly 4-6 times a week, but his crappy eating cancels it out so he's gained. They are only on his tummy so it's def from weight gain. I do know even if you gain muscle you can get stretchmarks, or grow, etc. I needed to see them though because I've been ignoring the dramatic and quick change in us both. We've only recently added extra pounds in the past few months. I've always been big, but I've been the same size for years after losing before. I'm 15lbs away from being at my highest weight lol.
@seabiscuitYes, we can!

@mamakat
We've tried that before and I believe I need to be up a few notches in the fitness aspect because he kicks my butt, but he's overly encouraging and it only just annoys me lol. If that makes sense? About the Palmer's I hear it does work but you have to use it daily. It's mainly to prevent stretchmarks. Lots of expecting mothers use it to prevent them but it has vitamin E oil in it which helps to heal scars.

**I woke up at 8am this morning. It's special to me because I promised myself last night I would. I want to make a habit of waking up early, working out, and being productive. I'm starting up a business so eventually 8am will have to turn into 5:30am possibly just to get a work out in but I'm okay with that. I woke up, ate breakfast, and now off to the gym!** have a great day ladies!

Mescelestusawe thanks and take care of yourself. I notice I get sicker when the weather changes, from hot to cold and vice-versa. I *do* need to get a flu shot. I didn't ever have one until last year because the year before we had the flu from ****. I had a temp of nearly 103 for three days, I don't remember how the kids got to and from school, ate (my daughter then 13 apparently made dinners) as both me and my husband were sick. The next year (last fall) as soon as flu shots were available...I was there. Hit me like a ton of bricks I remember being at physical therapy and feeling "off" and they mentioned the flu. We had to go do a home inspection on a house we were buying and DH was already feeling crappy the night before, and by the time we got home full on hit. It's terrible! I hope you feel better sooner.

Masterptr yay on the 8 miles! Hopefully things will be under control as far as food :)

Dawnrnay LOL I'm in Collin County so different area, but still closer than not in DFW at all right? I am so glad to have been fortunate enough to quit my job, it literally was killing my spirit and any movement physically obviously. I know I sound hippy drippy, but it's how I felt/feel. Hopefully your zipper is unsticking more and more each day ;)

:welcome: back PluckyPear. I'm sorry about the flu, it's that time of year. Do keep checking in, you can do this and especially this site helps with motivation and even a kick in the butt, and you know what? Everyone I've found inspires me in different ways here.

 MamaP on your mother's passing. Take care of you! And like many of us have said, not everyone has time for personals--they are not necessary! Everyone has different needs and time and what not, it's all good!

Amy I think Plano is 5-10 miles from Dallas proper? I used to live there and my doctor's was in Dallas and it took maybe 15 minutes? Ugh about the asthma. I do know for my dad (diagnosed with asthma after taking a medication that supposedly caused it) was told during colder weather it WILL flare more. Scary, but he deals with it okay I guess. It is VERY hard sometimes for me especially in the beginning of this journey. I hear your frustration and I'll check out your post in the other forum in a few.

IsabellaOliva currently I do DVDs. I've done some classes before but honestly I'm too lazy to get dressed, drive there, and go back home. Plus I hate investing in newer clothes for working out in public, I mismatch at home LOL. I aim for 45-90 minutes of yoga seven days a week because ultimately you know I'll take a rest day as needed, but the 7 days thing isn't always power yoga..sometimes it's yin which is basically a few simple poses held for 2-10 minutes each. Have you tried the chocolate or hazelnut coffees and/or teas? I know some people like them (I find them gross) but if it helps a chocolate craving, go for it?

Misti :carrot: on the Facebook pictures! It is VERY hard even if you get down to a size 0 to overcome the "I am fat" mentality and allow pictures to be posted for some of us (me included)..it's a huge step AND you're seeing the difference is also AWESOME!!

Diana I thought about dental x-rays especially with the appointment coming up (although I think I did x-rays last year and insurance pays once every 2 years unless there is a problem). Hopefully I will remember to ask then right? LOL. OMG about KCM. I get really irritated by workouts that request like 200 pieces of equipment. Back in the day (i.e., mid 1990s) I didn't mind, but now I do not want to spend 20 minutes "setting up" and taking down a workout. I have tons of equipment and guess what? Having it didn't make me stronger, just more cluttered. I remember getting super frustrated when the Firm et al started adding 5+ pieces per workout, crazy. Awesome on jumping rope! That's hard for me, in fact I don't do it at all anymore. I had the jump something, the one that's blue and white with handles and no rope, but sent it to a VFer because I didn't use it and she was looking (and I've "known" her online 10+ years).

Rachello, Dawnrnay is right, skinny people can have them too. I remember when I was around 16 and one of my friend's moms had really nasty stretch marks to me at the time (16 and superficial right?). I remember her daughters always making fun of them and her husband said "but they are battle scars of the woman you are" and even at 16 I thought that was romantic (yeah 16 LOL) but you know he was right. I have them and wouldn't have surgery to remove them (mostly because I hate pain and I'm cheap as far as that--I'd rather spend the money to travel or pay down the house), but yeah I don't like show them off either LOL. My husband (exmilitary) has gained a lot since we got married, but it's on him. He knows what to do to be thinner and healthier--he chooses not to. I do make healthy food 90% of the time so maybe you can see what you're making maybe and switch it around? It might just be age too...aging blows sometimes :) What's your new business?

Mogzillo LOL yep all I can do is try my best and hope that rubs off on the husband :) WTG on the swimming. I hear you on the uncomfortable goggles. I swam without them as a kid, but now I can't and my kids won't swim without goggles. It's funny they have all these "things" they need to swim and I remember just getting a suit and sunscreen on and going at their age.

Ugh MamaKat your MIL sounds like a peach with regards to picture taking. I hate that. My mom is like that, but she will purposefully take pictures of you waking up or with food in your mouth. She gets off on making people, especially females, look bad.

Yesterday high calories 1779 for me and most of it was not healthy or as healthy as it could have been I should say. I did 25 minutes on the bike and an hour of yoga too. I will have to admit I'll be kind of glad when APY60 is over, the thing is you get up and do the morning blend which is 10-20 minutes--this week 20 minutes. So I do that usually before eating and while getting the kids ready, the dog out (he is 15-16 years old and we have to do make sure he goes out when he needs to or he can't hold it long) and all this stuff, so it's stressing me out to do that. Three more days (I already did the morning blend this morning) and then back to my regularly scheduled program LOL.

Good morning to everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful and positive day!

Diana- Seeing your weight loss and what you have accomplished is very motivating!! :bravo:

seabiscuit- when my 18 year old son was around 8 they referred him to a allergy doctor. They put him on a breathing machine then just the inhaler, later just allergy meds. And he rarely ever has an attack anymore. I think it's called allergy asthma. Not as servere, but I feel for anyone who has issues with breathing. It's just so sad to see people suffer from this. I hope you feel better! And I know how you feel about the weight gain. It happens. Just stay positive. Weight loss may not happen immediately, but it will happen. And then you will be thankful you didn't give up and have to restart! I can't belive 3 years ago I was so close to being under 200 lbs, but I just gave up because I didn't see any weight loss for 4 weeks straight! Thing is, I wasn't eating what my body needed to lose this weight. I am so angry because I could have hit my goal weight. I let the negative take over and I didn't stay positive. Please please don't give up! When you feel like you hit rock bottom with your weight, try to keep your head up because you are closer RIGHT NOW than you would be 3 years from now! You can do it. Try not to let everyday life stand in your way of being a healthier you. I don't know when I will be able to pm, but when I do, me and you will need to chat!

Serenity I am all of a sudden feeling like 80% better this morning!! Breathing out of my nose and all! I guess it was just a really aggressive head cold. (and how funny I should feel better now, I stayed out all night w a guy friend who works at a bar, and even drank a beer) Back to the gym this evening :)

Diana the well wishes must have worked I'm feeling great! I hope you're feeling great too!

@Serinity
He's only 26 so it's not aging, he just let his belly lap over haha. I see the connection with batter scars from mothers, and skinny people do have them. Anyone can get them when they get taller, or gain, etc. Ours are for neglecting our bodies which is why it made me think twice.

To answer your question, I just started a residential cleaning business specializing in aromatherapy and green cleaning so I'm really looking forward to throwing myself in that. I scrubbed my shower yesterday, I can't imagine doing that 2-4 times a day but I'm excited to try!

Rachello I think that would do well! I know in our area that's something that the cleaning services DO advertise and if I was hiring, I'd look for that because of the environment AND our pets (and of course the children ;) ) Ok get this, the friend whose mom has the battle scars, she owned a cleaning service when she got out of high school. She did REALLY well financially then (I have not talked to her in a long time) and she said it was second nature to just clean, she wasn't out of shape or more in shape then, ah to be 19 again.

NovaAngel yay for fleece!

Diana: I almost don't know what to write seeing as you seem to manage so incredible well. It's inspiring to see someone losing that much weight and maintain it for so long.

Rachel: I think that sometimes it helps to "trick" healthy food into family members dinners without announcing it as a health thing. Just tell him you want to try a really good recipe a friend recommended, don't say it's healthy for him. Men are funny in that way.

Dawn: Great work.

Seabiscuit: You're stuck between a rock and a hard place. If you take meds it makes the weight go up, if you don't it makes you sick. You have my emapthy.

Mozgillo: Yey on try a new activity.

Mamakat: Speaking of mint, I had a delicious mint tea today. I quit Diet Coke cold Turkey on October 1st and I hadn't had one since then. The first week was rough and I felt sick. Now my issues is that I'm so used to getting all my fluids from Diet Coke and water just doesn't taste as good.

SerenityDiva: Nicely done

Calories: 2213
Activity: none

I had a bit of a binge episode today, however, one setback is just that: ONE. I'm already back on track and ate a healthy dinner. A while back I would eat what I ate during the binge every single day, so I'm improving. It was my first binge in October and we're already 1/3 of the way with October.

I am now on WW and so far sticking with my points. Again no activity as I am still sick. I did go for a 20 minute walk to get some groceries though.

I really appreciate all the support from everyone, I am truly touched. I returned to work today and did okay even though I only had about 30-45 mins sleep total last night due to the side effects of the asthma medicine. I was running on sheer adrenaline. I felt chest pain and tightness plus coughing at work so I took my inhaler at work and that seemed to help. I felt better after the inhaler and sitting down.

I saw my pulmonologist today and he said that the weather here (we have had a lot of cold damp weather lately) has contributed to the attacks and also, I foolishly stopped taking my Prilosec, I ran out of it and then didn't think that I needed it. I so badly want to be above this disability that I think I don't need my medicine, last year I stopped taking my steroid inhaler, I just want to be normal. :( I have to accept that I need the help for my health issues, big sigh. If only I had kept on the Prilosec, perhaps I wouldn't have had IVs of asthma meds, missing work and gaining weight. Now I am on stronger medicine, if only I had kept the course and not messed things up! I don't want to beat myself up but I feel so silly and a little dumb. Why do I put myself through this?

I talked to another pharmacist who said that the weight gain is probably from the Prednisone and I will have to work to get it off, it's not water retention  I feel so frustrated- grr! I was tracking my WW points today but went over and into my weekly points because I got hungry, sigh.

The tears keep coming and I just want to scream out of frustration at times. I see my therapist tomorrow and hopefully that will help.

I'm sorry I am not doing personals, I am sleep deprived and not in the best mood, but I did want to reply to the thread.

Thank you all again so much for the support.

Bless you all.

Hi Everyone!

AKA Hi  It's good to see you. I saw your post at the weigh in. http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/100-lb-club/267222-spooky-time-october-daily-weigh.html People are not talking much. I quit doing personals since I have been having issues with that allergy thing. I'm not sure if you remember about what I had going on. I got a diagnosis, angioedema. I adjusted my allergy medicine 2 weeks ago. Now it's TTOM. I still have issues with flare ups when I get really upset, although they are not as bad. I am hoping things will regulate for me, soon. You are welcome to post here when ever you want.

Rachello Great job in getting up early and getting it done! :carrot:

Dawn Thank you. Good job on your calories and exercise!

Misti I understood what you meant. I still think it's a NSV and you are making progress. Weight loss isn't just a physical thing about losing the weight. It's also a mental thing. Especially with someone like me. I have been morbidly obese the majority of my life. I am not use to being smaller and I'm not used to the way I look. Everything is a process. Keep up the great work! Congrats on the 246! :carrot:

Seabiscuit I hope you start feeling better, soon. Hang in there. Just don't give up! I have had some crazy struggles recently. We just have to keep our focus and not let these struggles get us down.

Mogzillo Great job sticking with your plan. Did you get that swim in? I love swimming.

Mamakat Ah, the Dr. could be right. You might have a virus. It does make sense. I hope you felt better today.

Serenity I hate having to take all of that equipment out! Cathe is famous for that! You need a half a dozen gadgets to do one of her workouts. I workout in my office and don't have room for all of that. You probably had a Jump Sport. I have looked into those, too. I was gifted a workout DVD today. I think I will offer my last DVD up as a gift later tonight. It's a Firm DVD. I need to get it out to get the name. I hope you had a good day.

Mescelestus Glad you are feeling better.

Novangel Good job planning for the cold weather!

Isabella Thank you. Get right back on track with your next meal. Don't let one little set back derail you. Keep working it!

Pluckypear Good job on the walk, especially with not feeling well. I hope you feel better tomorrow.

I allowed myself to self-soothe, self-medicate, self-destruct, and self-harm. I needed a hug and since physical hugs aren't a part of my life, I hugged myself with Bertucci's. Yep, I reasoned it out (and will soon be paying for it). I said, I've been good, I'm on a downward spiral in weight, if I gain it will come back off (I have no doubt of that), it's better than doing something stupid (LOL, gotta weigh the stupid here) and I just NEED (not food, but mental nurturing). Now I knew going in, I'd pay for it, but I drove across state, singing until I ran out of CT road in pouring rain then headed back home, in the rain. I haven't gotten my car fixed so that was one of those stupid things, I didn't really care about. DH is super supportive and went with me because I don't actually order a meal, I just eat their rolls. He ordered a beer and chicken wings. We separated afterward and as he was saying good bye, I know he was itching to hug me, but that's not comforting, maybe one day  So, although, it was for good/bad reasons, I did it. I don't feel guilty in doing it and I'm not worried about the weight that I'll gain...nope, I'll worse problems to worry about, but right now, I'm kinda hoping the physical pain will make me put the other stuff on a back burner. Maybe it won't rain tomorrow and I can go for a slow cleansing walk...

I hope you all have a wonderful night...see you in the morning :)

I stayed within my ww points. I ended up having a healthy dinner of 1/2 sweet potato, bunch of rapini sauteed in a little evoo and lemon squeezed on top, and a baked chicken breast sans skin. I did allow points for chocolate with my peppermint tea. I have to miss the pool tomorrow because I have a new fridge being delivered tomorrow. I will aim for a Richard Simmons DVD.

Do you ever feel like there isn't enough time in the day for you? I feel like everyone sucks my minutes out of my day like a vaccuum. The minute I finally get a chance to sit and relax it's time to get back up and start something new. I need a remote for life so I can pause and enjoy what seems to be passing by too quickly!

I use an android app to keep track of my calories, it said I went over my budget. Lovely. I ate 1616 calories. At least everything I put into my mouth was healthy :) I know, even healthy food can be overeaten if you aren't careful!

Exercised 1hr and 20 mins. Elliptical 1 hr, and I "tried" tae-bo for 20 minutes. Really it was just me looking silly trying to keep up with him. Not good for the clumsy girl with two left feet. But it was a fun try.

Pluckypear- great job staying under your ww points! I've never done ww b4 so I don't know how it works. It seems like the points go really fast, like you don't have enough. I wonder though, can you earn extra points by exercising? Just curious.

Mamakat- don't beat yourself up, tomorrow is a new day!

Diana & misti- your food logs looks yummy, great choices!

Steph- Hello! Hope your work days get better!

Everyone else, enjoy your evening!

Finally have a ticker! woo whoo!

Hello again, everyone!

Whew, busy day! But rewarding. I am enjoying reading all your posts.

dawnmay3, I haven't welcomed you yet so here it is!!! :welcome: So glad you have joined us. And yes, my food is absolutely yummy! And takes very little time to prepare.

pluckypear, regarding my Life Group.... my church has groups that meet for 12 weeks, mostly in people's homes. At the end of 12 weeks a new set of them starts and you can either stay with the group you have been in (which I always do) or move on to something different. They are around 12-14 or so people, and each is based on a topic. There are some that are Bible study topics and others which are based on common interests such as a sewing group, game night group, exercise, or whatever. In my particular group this time, we are taking turns (one person per week) sharing a story about something that took place in the Bible, examining and discussing it, how it applies in our lives and specifically how we can use it to encourage and bless others. We also share our prayer needs and pray for one another. We go 15 minutes early so we can have that time to just visit. Someone always brings treats, too. The group members also reach out to one another to help if someone has a need, etc. It's a great way to get to know people and develop close relationships.

Best wishes to everyone! Have a super successful week!

I am feeling better, finally got some sleep! I also am breathing somewhat better and my spirits are feeling lifted  I cannot begin to thank you all so much for your wonderful support- you all rock!

I see my therapist today and hopefully that will be helpful, I like her and I think our sessions are good. I just hope my breathing is going to be okay at work today, we shall see.

I'm tracking and it feels good to track what I am eating. I hope that I don't go over my daily points today, but if I do, I have some weekly points left over. My weigh in day is tomorrow, I hope I don't break down into tears because I know I have gained due to the meds. Fortunately I get a new set of weekly points though :)

Good Morning, Everyone!

We are getting close to the weekend! :carrot:

I have gotten bogged down with my sorting/shredding/regular work. I though work would be calm enough this week that I could get most of the sorting/shredding done, but it hasn't. I would love to get all of this done by this weekend even, but I don't even think that's possible. I'll keep working on it though.

Seabiscuit Glad you are breathing easier today. I also suffered from severe asthma as a child, until I moved to South Africa from the UK and the climate here seemed to help. I still struggle though but manage it well with exercise, prednisone caused most of my weight gain as a teenager. The worst is when the women in the gym spray clouds of deodorant, don't know why it's not common knowledge that this is an asthma trigger? I hope you get some relief soon.

Diana I actually skipped my swim yesterday I was sore and tired and work was stressful so I talked myself out of it. I went for a walk though and ate okay but could have been better. The funny thing is I do love swimming outdoors, it's laps that I find myself dreading. You must tell me why you love it so I can get some mojo for next Wednesday.

Today had an early morning gym session which I kept low impact because of back pain. This afternoons Pilates followed by Pork chops with apple pecan sauce and and veggies for dinner.

IsabellaOlivia isn't that great? I do remember the days of "well it's Thursday and I binged, I may as well do it all day--and probably through the weekend. Oh Monday's a holiday so then too" and now I'm more like you where I say "well that wasn't planned" and just eat right the VERY next time/meal. It's very empowering to know you CAN binge and it won't mess you up for weeks or even beat yourself up more than a second about it because you take back control the very next meal!

PluckyPear I hope you're feeling better soon. WTG on the counting.

Amy I'm glad you are getting to a peaceful place with the meds and learning what's what as far as weight gain or slower loss rather. And of course ITA with NovaAngel. I want to be off everything extra, I don't forsee it happening completely though and by that time God only knows I'll need something else. Now I always hope it's on the formulary or at least generic LOL. I hope today's therapy session is AWESOME and I do agree, when I track *usually* I feel more in control or something which helps a lot.

Diana OMG Cathe. I stopped using her stuff after Pure Strength. It was just too much and honestly I felt like her goal was to see how fast she could break your ankle. I used to actual talk to her via email before my last son was born (11 years ago) and she was very cool and encouraging then.

Steph just try to get back on that eating horse. I had a stressful night last night, long story, but basically the lady I'm getting our kitten from today is just being super anal retentive about EVERYTHING and that stresses me out. She's worried about the water, the food (we feed $60 a bag kibble and $2 a can high end food--but not the brand SHE prefers which oddly she also is a distributor for--groan), and it's just making me stress. I ate a piece of cake last night because I was so damn frustrated.

Hey Misti! You're doing great and staying busy :)

Awe MamaKat I'm sorry you're having a rough time. I don't think we have that restaurant here, but I love rolls anyway :)

Um Dawnrnay ALL THE TIME I feel like there is not enough time...even now with the kids in school and husband in office 3 days a week I still feel like LEAVE ME ALONE sometimes. It does get better, but there are days where I do say "get it yourself" with regards to stuff I agreed to do as part of the SAHM thing LOL.

NovaAngel good going on Jillian!

AKA well a wild weekend is a good thing sometimes right? I overslept I believe Tuesday just because I felt like it...no real excuse. Maybe the cooler weather?

I *thought* I overate because I did have cake, but I didn't, just 1416 calories. I didn't eat dinner last night. This woman with the kitten has me really stressed out. After I pick him up hopefully it's done. It's been an odd situation. ANYWAY I did Skogg Roots yesterday (kettlebell) with the 18 pound bell. I did the "lowest" version for 15 minutes, which I thought would be too short--but with 18 pounds it certainly wasn't. I then did yoga as well. Today is yoga and cycling.

Hi everyone. Sorry, but this zoloft is making me incredibly lazy. I've barely had the energy/motivation to get anything done at home beyond the bare minimum. It's also made me constipated. I've never experienced that before and it really sucks :( I'm doing pretty well with weight loss, though. I saw 210 yesterday morning!

Good Morning all! :carrot:

Dawnrnay3-Yes I can extra points through exercise and typically I do. I do not or at least I have not used those points though. We also get 49 weekly points which I do tend to use when I go out for brunch or choose to have a few beers. I just feel better when I exercise, I feel lighter even if I am not lighter. :dizzy:

Misti-your Lifegroup sounds like a nice idea and a great way to experience a sense of community. I used to go to church years ago and I do miss that sense of community. I like the idea of playing board games once a month with a good group of people or having a book club. I have tried meet ups and so forth but it is not easy to find. So enjoy.

Seabiscuit-Hi. It is nice to see a fellow ww person here. I WI on Mondays and so missed it due to our Thanksgiving holiday. I prefer not to WI at home as it really messes with my head to WI different times of day different days and different scales. I have a 10 year old nepheww with serious asthma. He cannot be around some people with long haired pets or he goes into attacks.

SerenitydivaThankyou and I am getting better but slowly. Now I am mainly congested and have a sinus headache. It has been 6 days with this cold surely it will go soon.

I see some people mentioned going to therapy. I found a therapist and seeing her has been one of the best things that happened to me. I am stronger, my marriage is better and I have ended friendships that went on way too long. I get healthier with each visit but it is a slow road especially since I started at 46. There are so many things I saw or experienced in family relations or friendships that I thought were normal because I saw them in others around me too but have since learned are far from healthy. I am a work in progress in all areas. lol

I got my new fridge today and am waiting to plug it in so I can get my food in there. It is a lovely fridge. I have therapy group tonight and may just get a subway sub after for dinner. DH will make himself some eggs, rice, and cheese. I doubt he will add any veg. :( Thankfully the home is fairly clean as I do not feel up to doing much housework but I will at least do the breakfast dishes. LOL We so need to buy a steam cleaner for these wall to walls though.

Have a good day everyone.

Hi all! I landed myself in the emergency room last night because I absentmindedly had coffee, tea, 5 hour energy, cold meds, and slimquick...all with my medication that I'm not supposed to have any caffeine with at all. Palpitations and a panic attack. I'm relatively ok now; I'm just surprised at myself for doing that, I should know better!!! What a week!! I hope all of you are doing fine!

Hi all

Racing through again LOL... have to get to the dinner. I have been so hungry all day, which is unusual for me. Usually I allow myself to eat a bit more when that happens but was trying not to because of dinner tonight and also I just lost two pounds and don't want them back. But I just had to have something so I grabbed a couple of small slices of Greek pizza out of the freezer. Now I am off to dinner, ha. (I won't eat all that much there though.)

Have to run... I should be gone by now. Had a physical therapy appt after work.

No more overtime for now! Mixed emotions as the $$$ are nice but I am so exhausted getting up at 4 AM... LOL now I get to sleep until 5!!!

Hi Everyone!

I stayed late at workout tonight so I could do some sorting/shredding. I'm not going to be able to do personals tonight. I will catch up with everyone tomorrow or this weekend. I'm trying to get as much of the sorting/shredding done as I can. I am hoping to finish everything by Monday.

A bit of background for the new posters here. My Mom passed away over the Summer. Right now I am going through all of her paperwork.

I had something AMAZING happen to me today.

The last couple weeks that my Mom was in the hospital she was not able to communicate with us due to being sedated and/or not coming to. It bothered me that we were couldn't talk and has continued in my thoughts to this day. I do accept that everything happens for a reason and some things are beyond our control. I am grateful that my Mom is in a better place and no longer suffering.

I was sorting through my Mom's paperwork today. I had taken everything that was made of paper out of her house. I came across one of her phone books. There were a lot of phone numbers on the outside. I decided to keep it in case I need to call one of those people. I noticed a paper on the inside cover. I opend the phone book to remove the paper. The top half of the paper is a picture of my Mom. I think I remember when the picture was taken. Her friend Debbie took it with her phone when we were at the Cancer Center. On the bottom half of the paper, Mama wrote:

To My Kids, Diana & Teddy
I am at Charleston Cancer Center - March 2012.
Thanks for all your help!
Love You Always,
Mama

In her picture, she still had all of her hair. She had just started her treatments. She was able to convey her thoughts and communicate, after all. She thanked us for helping her. I would do anything for her. This was such a special and precious gift from my Mom. I am so blessed to have found it today. BTW, she always called my DH her "kid" or her "son". She loved him like he was hers.

It saddens me, though, that she obviously didn't think she would make it for her to have put the picture/note in the phone book like that.

I hope it was OK to share this. It meant a lot to me. Please hug your loved ones.

Diana, I lost my Mom in 2007; she was also unable to talk due to vocal chord issues. It was by far the worst trauma I have ever been through (I'm just now coming to terms w/ it almost 6 years later) but they do have a way to still "speak" to us. I sympathize.

Good Morning Everyone,

I have to be quick as I'm taxi-ing the entire family to the train. DH is taking the kittens to NYC for Comic-con. I chose not to do it as I'm taking DD to a concert next month and going to see Jon Stewart, too! So I'll have enough social interaction, Comic-con isn't really my thing anyway.

Diana Thanks for sharing that, I thought that was so cool. I remember when my mother was in hospice, she was so out of it, she thought my name was South Pole. DH and I joke about that all the time. And as you know, my mother was not my greatest fan, but I was loyal and wanted so badly for a message like that. Right before I said good bye she called my childhood name...DH didn't want to take me, but I thought that was the perfect time to leave. It wasn't an I love you, but for me it meant a lot. And hearing about your mother's note just gave me such a warm feeling...I love to hear about mother's love...and it was so nice of her to think of you and how it will feel once she's gone. How sweet, to receive it months later, when it's hard going through her things. She knew you'd be the one to do so and she knew how hard it would be on you. How loving of her, to remind you, she loves you. You are truly truly blessed :)

Have a wonderful and healthy day, everyone!

Good morning, all

Diana, I love your story about your mom. So glad she was able to get her message of love to you.

Reminded me of when my mom was dying. A lot of the time she did not know me but one time I was up close to her hugging her, etc., and she looked right at me -- and I know she knew me -- and said "Your hair looks nice, honey." :) Even when she was dying, she was thinking about me and giving her love. I had a wonderful mother and look forward to seeing her again in Heaven, which I know I will because she did love the Lord.

Well, I ate the entire dinner at church last night... meat loaf (my first meat in weeks), red potatoes, honey glazed carrots, a roll and salad. I don't think it set me back any, though, as I've been eating well for a long time. Besides, compared to what I USED to would have considered eating a lot, this is a nothing LOL.

Glad for Friday... and my first day of getting to sleep until 5:00 AM instead of 4:00. And we are supposed to have rain after an unheard of (here) 81 days of hardly a drop. Yay bring it on.

After work I take my car into the shop, which means no going to the pool, but I do have to walk home about a mile so that will be my exercise for today.

Have a great day and weekend, everyone!!

Hey everyone,

As always your support means so much to me.

I am off from work again today due to asthma issues. I was at work yesterday when I had to use my nebulizer, still didn't feel quite right. I called my lung doc after work who had told me to stay home, told me to stay home again and this time I am listening. He actually gave me a note for a week off but I hope I don't have to take that much time off.

As much as I don't want to think negatively, I want to start planning for my future. I hope I don't lose this job and I don't want to make my negative thoughts a self fulfilling prophecy. I need to start looking back towards working in health care again, and found out how I can renew my credentials. It will cost a decent chunk of change because I have let them lapse and I have some education I have to do on a website plus a CPR course, but I plan on doing it! I want to advance myself and get back into health care so I can get a job that I actually feel good about.

I went over my points last night, gave into some emotional eating yesterday. I was really upset about work and some issues in my life and didn't track but it's time to get back on track!

I plan on having a restful weekend, hopefully one with a little fun infused into it and some cleaning and organizing of this apartment without going overboard.

Take care,

Amy

Diana, how wonderful for you to find that note from your mom. Good luck going through the paperwork. I know that's what I'll face when my dad dies - he never throws anything away and his office is jammed with paper. I may need an industrial-sized shredder.

mamakat, I'm a big Jon Stewart fan! I'm sure seeing a taping will be great fun for you.

misti, enjoy the extra sleep. I know what you mean about OT - I have about 10 weeks f crazy hours each year and the money is great, but it's exhausting.

novangel, good for you for recognizing how much you've accomplished.

shiskeberry, I just noticed your sig about quitting the cigs - happy anniversary on that! I quit 11 years ago and can't believe I ever smoked.

This week has just been awful, food-wise. I have to keep reminding myself how crappy I feel when I overeat and hope that it finally gets through to the part of my brain that tells me to keep eating. I'm happy that I'm still under 132 (by a whisker!) and am committed to getting to my goal, but sometimes giving up seems so much easier. I need a good night's sleep, I think.

Happy Friday everybody!

Shishkeberry I hope your constipation and tiredness gets better soon.

PluckyPear that is so true about unhealthy relationships. I remember a friend saying to me once when I was talking about some stuff MIL and my mom were going through or doing. She said she thinks the reason I don't stop or move away from them is I grew up thinking that was NORMAL. My therapist said it's not and while the therapist had said it, it was when my friend did that it hit me--it's not normal OR healthy. It was many years that I kind of figured that, but once I made the decision to cut off the relationships completely (as with my mom--she's very toxic and dangerous and has done stuff that if I posted about people from "normal" families wouldn't believe) or limited as with MIL. I usually am good about friends because I just don't put up with stuff for long, which is probably why I have only a few super good friends LOL. I'm glad your cold is getting better.

Omigosh Mescelestus when I read the things you had I thought "wow lots of caffeine!" I hope you're feeling better.

IsabellaOlivia yes a new kitten. I picked him up yesterday. My other two cats are not thrilled, but they will deal. He's isolated right now and getting slowly more and more curious about them and the surroundings. I'll try to post a picture soon. It is SERIOUSLY hard for me to have pizza without a soda so WTG!

Misti I hear you on the overtime, mixed blessing. Have fun this weekend.

Diana I think it's perfect timing that you came across that picture. I'm glad :)

Woot NovaAngel for your progress! It's amazing to see in ourselves and I am glad.

MamaKat what are you doing while they are at Comic-con? Anything? My friends who have seen Jon Stewart love him so I bet you'll enjoy it too :)

Amy I think having a plan is a good thing. Keep at it. What did you do in healthcare before? Do you want something different?

Steph I hope you get some sleep and feel refreshed and renewed!

Ate 1567 calories yesterday, did the yoga, the 25 minutes on the bike, and picked up the new kitten (still unnamed, we're toying with Smudge, Kaz, and my 11-year-old likes Two Faced from Batman but I think of a liar so I'm not keen on that). He's getting used to things as well as the other cats. Our dog doesn't seem to notice, but he is old between 15 and 16 years and a larger breed (Rough Collie mixed with Australian Shepherd) so he has difficulty sometimes remembering stuff, as well as um seeing and hearing consistently. He did lick me all over after I put the kitten in the room. The problem we had last time with a kitten (my now nearly 3-year-old) is that the dog licked him SO MUCH he was sopping wet all the time and nasty. He does that with babies and toddlers too. For a neutered male dog he certainly has a maternal instinct.

serenity I won't be doing anything today...the gluten has begun to reek havoc on me. I knew it would, so no big surprise. So far no migraines and to be honest, I can pretty much get by with all the other crud, as long as I'm home. Both my calves are seized and so is my right glute...I'm walking around like a dork, but I'm walking :) I got to see Stephen Colbert last year for my anniversary...DH just popped out with "u wanna go see Jon" Yeah, like he and me are besties. DH is looking for all kinds of ways to kep me out of the funkiness...meeting Tyson Ritter has to be my all time favorite, though...got pics of him hugging me...swoon. So I'm resting today.

I like the name Smudge...not sure, but was that in To Kill a Mockingbird? Don't why I think that it was, but it sounds like something from that book.

Seabiscuit I hope you start feeling better soon.

Hey everyone!

So, I've decided I want to drop a few pounds. And by a few, I mean about 20 lbs! (YIKES!)

I feel like I've got a bit different situation then many people because I'm living in Korea right now. I love it here (well, parts of it...), but the eating situation is a little bit different than back home. There are some very cultural food issues, as well as the food itself and not being able to access nutritional information.

With that said, I want to look damn good when I get home in early March. SO, that means losing about 20lbs. I'm in the low end of the 160's, and I'm 5'8 with a large frame, and in good shape. I've got good cardio endurance (can hike for hours up steep inclines and I've been doing the Insanity workout on a daily basis for the past month) and lots of muscles, so it's going to be tough to lose. For the record, the thinnest I've ever been was when I had an eating disorder and I was 135lbs. 140 may be pushing it, so I'll have to re-assess when I get down there.

I've still got to work on my eating habits, and that's why I'm here. I feel like that's the last part of the puzzle. I just need to get my eating under control, keep exercising, up my iron (I'm anemic at the moment), and then I'll lose weight. So, I want to use this thread as a way to track my food and keep me accountable.

I've also studied nutrition in university, and have done lots of research so if anyone needs help or an internet hug, I can help you out there.

Anyways, I hope this is the thread for me! So, what do you say? Can I join the group? Pretty pretty please?!

Today was okay, still am going over my daily points and using my weekly points. I would like to learn how to better budget my points. I've started eating more fruit and tomorrow I go to the grocery store, am planning for a healthy trip.

My asthma is slowly getting better I think, but I'm not quite out of the woods yet. I plan to go back to work on Monday and have this be a restful yet productive weekend.

I better go track my points ;)

Have a great night!

Hello everyone.

I had a good day. I went for a half hour walk and met my sister for lunch. We had fish and chips. Yes high but I used my WW weekly points for it. In doing so I still have some wp left and dailies too. I am going to a brunch tomorrow but will just have a small greek salad with dressing on side or no dressing with lemon or poached eggs and fruit. I have it planned out. I wake up early in the mornings so will have some yogurt and fruit when I wake around 6 and the brunch will be at 11:30. I will have a nice healthy dinner with plenty of veg and a little protein, maybe steak.
I am looking forward to getting back to the pool next week.
Good night.

Hi everyone,

I hope you all have a nice Saturday morning and start to your weekend.

I am a little discouraged this morning. My jeans are definitely tighter than before, yet I am glad that they still fit, well as of now. I am going grocery shopping today and I have planned what I think is a healthy list. I really want to get this excess weight off and once this asthma exacerbation passes, I hope to become more active again.

As for my weekend, I am making headway in the cleaning/organizing of my apartment ;) I still have a ways to go but I am slowly getting there. Today I am going on some errands and then I am going to see Here Comes The Boom! tomorrow with a friend.

I used to work as a medical assistant for a short period of time, I went to school to get my associate's degree for my medical assisting and office administration like studies. I found the clinical aspect of the job too overwhelming so I am hoping to go back into work as an administrative med. assistant or something in that field. I have some work to do to renew my credentials, I was a NRCMA (Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant) and I plan to renew those credentials, so I have to pay a fee, do some continuing education units and then do a CPR class. It will be worth it in the end though.

I am going to take a short walk in a little while, looking forward to some fresh air!

Take care,

Amy

Good morning, everyone! Yay, it's Saturday morning!! Off we go.

I woke up at 1 AM sheesh... so at 4 decided to get up and do some cleaning. Since my pain level has gone down so much (chiro, PT and weight loss) I am able to do more and want this place dug out!! So far I have found $30 and a missing pair of shoes LOL.

It is 5 AM and I am trying to wait longer before eating, even though my stomach is starting to get demanding! I'm getting a 246 on the scale and still hoping it will drop to a 245 before I break down and eat breakfast. :)

Can't go to the pool early because my car is in the shop but plan to go later in the day.

Hope everyone has a super day. Stick with it, everybody. We can do this!!

Good Morning, Everyone!

I hope you have a great weekend. It goes by so quickly. Let's enjoy the time we have.

Calories for yesterday: 1470 + :coffee
Weigh In: 151.0
Down: .2

Serenity I am about half way through my current rotation. I am thinking about next month of doing something with month 2 of Insanity and cardio. December I am thinking about rotating full body lower weights (Tear It Up) with cardio. I like the idea of mixing it up so the body doesn't become accustomed to one type of exercise. Do you know anyone that has done Les Mills Pump? I was reading at VF where people are doing it with dumbbells. I am actually pondering this system now. I really like the idea of complete systems and a planned rotation. It takes all of the thinking out of it. ( I don't have time to do something trivial like - thinking  ) Ha Ha, No really, following a planned rotation has really helped with the standing in front of a pile of DVD's and trying to decide what workout to do. :D

Misti Good Morning! I hope you see that 245 this morning. It sounds like you have a bout of insomnia. I hope the car repair isn't too expensive. Enjoy your day. I forgot to mention about the coffee flavored Greek yogurt. I made it and it was awesome!

Seabiscuit Please don't get discouraged about the jeans. You've got a lot going on right now. Make plans about what you want to accomplish (career, organizing your apartment, etc). Work on things one step at a time. I like working from a list and then checking things off one at a time. It helps me feel accomplished without getting overwhelmed.

I didn't wind up doing anything last night because I didn't want to aggravate my back further, I don't know if it's from exercise or something else. Regardless it's warmer today so I will get outside in a bit and work off some serious cals.

I have a huge party to go to tonight, my BF is playing (he's a musician) I'm so glad to be getting out. :carrot:

Mamakat I hear you on being home and being okay handling that stuff, especially without migraines. One of my facebook friends said she had a migraine today and can't get Excedrin Migraine anymore? I don't know if she means at home or if it's off the market...so now I'm curious LOL. Well they decided on Castiel or "Kaz" for short from SuperNatural. So I call him Kaz Kitty. I'll try to post a picture or a link to pictures by the end of the weekend.

IsabellaOlivia peanut butter is very versatile. My dad has a problem GAINING and maintaining weight (yes I know he's genetically gifted LOL), but he adds it to a lot for calories and it has helped. He was down apparently 20 pounds under weight and for a man of his age and stuff it's not good so I'm glad he is back to low end of normal (I think he's still under but I don't think 20 pounds). He tried Nutella (as did I) and both of us find it too sweet, but others like it I bet it would be good in oatmeal because of it being chocolate-like? But it's high sugar I would assume based on the sweetness.

;) Shellsbrood!

Masterptr WTG on the 9 miles!

:cheer: Misti on the walking home! I'm glad it felt good!!! I'm also glad you are feeling good enough to do some massive organizing and cleaning. Nice to find money too ;) I got that urge earlier this week and while I didn't find money, I sold some DVDs to make some so almost the same? And more shelf room!

:welcome: IveGotSeoul! LOVE your username!!! I'm glad you joined the thread.

Amy this week has been a b!tch for me as far as tracking, I'm doing it but for some reason not as motivated. I have to get something to click again. I will but sometimes I get so aggravated. Glad the asthma is abating a bit. The career path sounds good. I wish I could be motivated to do something like that again, but my motivation for that died. Who knows what the future holds :) Also oddly my jeans are tighter, but measurements smaller...weight the same 162.8 all week give or take 0.2 whatever those are (ounces I assume?). I think my butt is getting "more bubbly" from the kettlebells and that's throwing it off.

PLUCKYPEAR you just gave me a fantastic idea! I remember when I did lose weight before one of the tactics I used was preplanning the night before or a few days (like if I was going out). DOH :high: I don't know why I didn't think of it before (Amy I think that's what I'll do is aim for this next 7 days to plan the night before). And I already planned on a steak tomorrow night so it's in the stars LOL.

Diana that workout is one of my favorite newer Firms! I might pull it out during a week or day I want a break from bells. Becky is letting me borrow Kettlebell Scorcher to see if I like it so workouts will be weird once it gets here as far as scheduling, but Skoggs are SO short I might just double up that day with bells and do 30 of yoga or something. I think my girlfriend above (the facebook one with the migraine) is doing it. I'll check with her. The rest of my friends who have it like it, but they don't ever follow rotations. I will poke around and let you know what I hear later this weekend or Monday since a lot are offline during the weekends.

NovaAngel have fun tonight. I'm sorry about your back. I hope you get some respite from the pain and it's gone by morning.

HIGH CALORIES FOR ME 2129. Ugh. I know why and it's because I overate crap. Made my list for Costco and grocery and hopefully that'll be done. I also realized thanks to PluckyPear that this week will be the week I preplan my meals the day before period. It should get me on track again. I don't like being out of control. New kitten, er Castiel ("Kaz" for short) is settling in. He's in our room and slept on the bed last night like my baby, Max, does/did. Max only sleeps in the room about once a week now so I didn't feel guilty about Cas being there. Our other cat, Chloe, isn't pleased, but she is never happy. If she was a human she'd be a loner. It's weird because she was a rescue who was with her brother, the owner dumped her and the brother (both fixed and declawed) at around 13 months because "I didn't feel like paying a deposit" (groan sorry don't get a pet if you don't think that far ahead). So her and her brother were adopted in January...the new owners dumped her and kept him. From January until July 2007 when we got her she was in a cage most of the time at Petco. She was a very standoffish cat at home at first, but geez I guess being introduced to three kids and a 65 pound dog who loves to lick would do that to anyone. Then we got Max in spring 2010 (he'll be 3 this February) and now Cas. So it's an adjustment. I think Max and Cas will get along because both are so young and Chloe isn't into playing...so this might take some pressure off her. We'll see, but three is enough. I have four litterboxes now to clean (three are set up, one is in case we need to isolate) and really I can't imagine more. My BFF had 5 for awhile (not on purpose people kept dumping their cats and she would not say no) and when she'd go out of town and I'd cat sit...wow. But she had 5 cats and 900 square feet so it was a lot.
