Tough going here with Labor Day parties all here and then watching grandson for two sleepovers. Trying to be flexible, but food is responding to stress and that's just silly. I vow to stop it now!

so planning on eating super light before & after.
Even though I didn't do great on our challenge - I still think it kept food/exercise in the forefront of things & some, like Terri did great.

Oh, my weight is up too. I seem to keep on saying that. In the meantime I am now on Food Lovers Fat Loss System. If I lose weight on this, it will be a miracle. Complete opposite of Jenny Craig where the food portions were tiny. This plan allows you to eat 3 meals and at least 3 snacks in the day.
I'll let you know how I do.
In the meantime, good to see you here Life! Re-joining WW's sounds like a smart thing to do. Good luck with your efforts. :goodscale:
Terri, way to go to get to the gym. If I find some good recipes, I'll pass them along. They might help with the food portion of our weight loss journey. You've got the gym part down pat.

I have an annoying cycle each month. Around that TOM and the week after i gain a bunch of water weight. I lose for like a week to a week and a half an then it goes back up and stays up for another 2weeks. This time around i gained about 3 pounds in water weight and it freaks me out. I try to be careful about my salt already. This is my first period after my surgery though so i think that is part of it. I actually had another surgery done in my abdomen at the same time as gallbladder removal. Well hope everyone is still chugging along and i will try to check back in soon. Looks like things are slow right now.

Yes Cherry, things are really slow right now. I know the beginning of the school year sets up different schedules for many of us.
I seem to be losing weight on the Food Lovers plan. I have made a turkey meatloaf and vegetable/chopped turkey lasagna and I have the portions in the freezer. The food is tasty and even if I'm a little hungry I know I can eat in two to three hours-----either a snack or a meal. It's an interesting concept, but I'm not on it long enough to know if I will actually lose weight.
cherry, sorry about the TOM complications and wishing you well that things start to balance out. You've done so well. Amazing weight loss!! :bravo:

Good Morning everyone - just a quick fly-bye to check in with everyone... I am the same weight as i was at my last weigh in so no change there.
Thank you all for you thoughts, prayers and support - my mothers death was unexpected for us but I think when all is said and done she was ready to go on and be with those that have gone before her, quiet honestly I think she was just plain worn out.
I will be back in a bit folks but for now I just need a bit of time. Will keep at the WW and pop in when I can.

The Food Lovers Fat Loss plan is a nice, comfortable way to eat. Only problem is the weight isn't dropping off. The nice thing for me is that I'm not at my highest point from recent weeks, but I would like to lose. To do that I have to exercise and my hip is still giving me trouble. I'll work this out. In the meantime I saw my buddies at WW's mtg. this morning and I'm having a small group in for lunch next Wed. after our mtg. I love doing that.
We all potluck and it works out great.

I saw Elton John last night I am in still in shock!!! He was on my bucket list, figured I would have to go Vegas!!! But he came to my city, he has been playing smaller than usual venues!! It was amazing and I still can't believe it!!!
So am back to aquafit, have been x 2 this week with friend, going to night again, had a 20 min walk at lunch so adding it all up!!!!!

My gf is coming today & staying overnight, so will be fun to catch up with her. She is one of the girls that goes to Floriday for 6 months and I stayed with her last year for a week. So this will be last time I see her for awhile,
so looking forward to that. She likes to cook & we will make something yummy/somewhat healthy together. Also my dd will be home this weekend as well, which is always great. So lots going on.
Weather changing & now in the season of "not knowing what type of clothes to wear" For me, I wear my summer stuff as long as possible and take along a sweater.
Looking forward to our challenge & as I said, it keeps our goals on our minds and I find it helpful with being accountable.

Hi to Princess and Cherry and Terri and Life4, and all the gals. Keep on chiming in. It's good encouragement for us all.
Have had a neat day today. Went to the Tanger OUtlet Mall and bought a new dining room table. The one we've had for over 40 years is lovely, but too wide for our dining room once the extensions are put in......and that's all the time now. My dh and I have grown from the two of us to a family of 12 and actually 13 when you count our dear friend who is here for all the holidays, so that little round table doesn't do the trick. Got a great price on the table and am hoping for a nice delivery. Also got a tote bag with wheels for traveling. I really don't travel by air anymore, but this will be cool to have if I do. It's so cute----purple and it fits under the seat of an airplane.
It's an early birthday :hb: present for me from dh.
Food has been good. Weight gain has stopped and I've knocked off a few of those high scale readings but I'd love to get back to 182# again so I can feel like I can "start losing new weight." I'm sure you all know just how I feel. I recorded at our short challenge for Halloween. I'm hoping keeping it short will help us to really focus and determine to lose something in these 6 weeks.

Good Morning everyone and happy Sunday! I did not go to WI yesterday but treated myself to a haircut and style, then went for a Mani and Pedi... happy birthday to me :)
Things are still strange and different but I am still chugging along. I am not able to excerise yet really but walking is ok so I need to get started doing that... I am very stiff and sore and the more days that pass the worse it gets... between my flare up, my DH's illness and my mother's passing I just have not taken the time to move more and that is my mistake and one that I can correct. The food needs to get back on track and in a more healthy frame of mind.
I need to take the time to read back over the posts to see what is going on with everyone but I wanted to stop by today and say hello and send you positive wishes for a great week.

By the way, I know we sometimes like to suggest books. I just read a mystery that is out of this world. It's called Gone Girl and it's by Gillian....I forget her last name. The book is great and I don't want to say any more than that because it's so good I don't want to give a hint or ruin it.
Here's to a great week to all of us. Had a good weekend. Went out to the outlet mall to buy a new dining room table I had seen online. Then my dh bought my a tiny darling Samonite tote that is a carry on and fits under an airplane seat (if I ever decide to get on a plane again). But it's also the perfect size to bring when we go to Atlantic City even though we drive. It's light and little and will hold just the right amount for a weekend. Yesterday my daughters and their husbands and of course our grandchild here on LI came to wish me an early :hb: It was nice having everyone together and it was a pleasant afternoon. Then this weekend coming up I expect to see my ds and his family, so it will be another nice time.

Hey. How is everyone doing? I had lost 2.3#. Then I gained back 0.1# which I am okay with. So I didn't realize how much paperwork, tests, and training gets down with you get a new job. Happy to possibly have a job but I am tired of taking tests.
I am going to work on eating breakfast and exercising, not my strongest point. Everyone have a goodnight.

I'm encouraged that although we have lots of social engagements (oh, that sounds so fancy.....what I mean is yesterday we went apple picking with the grandson and dd and dsil) that I have learned what to eat to maintain my weight. The next step is to step up the exercise and eat a little less. I know I can do this!

Another holiday, here we go! For our big dinner this year, we are going to golf club & this will be first time in years I am not doing the big turkey dinner. So will be interesting to see how this goes.
Also, this is final weekend at trailer. So will be going up for at least 1 night and have to have fridge cleaned out, since they winterize it next week.
So sad, another season of hot weather done. But on the plus side, I love the fall and we are still having great weather.
I have been struggling with my weight loss. Up/down and really getting tired of not doing as well as I feel I should. I really need to get back to a regular walking routine, not just hit & miss as I have been doing lately.
All - Hope you are all doing your best and seeing that darn scale go down!

Trying to check in and see how everyone is doing. I think I am getting fairly close to the weight i want to maintain but I wondered what everyone else is aiming for and their height. I havent been the weight i am not since i was like 17 or so. I know it isnt the weight suggested for me on charts but I am not one to feel the need to be super skinny by any means. I guess i am just trying to get an idea of where i want to end up at the end of this journey. Then comes the journey of maintaining.

To answer your questions, I've always been almost 5'4", but this year I dropped to 5'2" and it's very disappointing. I'm going with the 5'4" height because that makes the most sense to me. Of course I'd like to go with a 6' height so I wouldn't have to lose any more weight. I am comfortable at 160# although that isn't what the charts want for me either. To be honest, I need to get into the low 180's and then work hard to break through that.
I've had trouble doing that lately but I won't give up. Looking into more and more cookbooks, etc. to see what I can eat that doesn't smack of "diet" and yet will enable me to lose weight.
Cherry, what do you have in mind for yourself?

I have a little good news and I'd like to share it. By eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and having two-three snacks a day of a carb and low fat protein, it looks like I will be able to get rid of some weight. I've got my fingers crossed but I did lose a pound over the weekend and I'm very happy about that. Job is to keep off that pound and then lose another pound next week. They do add up! Both ways.
Thought you'd like to know. Let's keep on chiming in when we can. Bandit, I bet you hated to tuck away your trailer for the winter. Summers at the lake must be great.
Cherry, you're doing so well. Keep up the good work.
Terri, do you find the weight is starting to change just a bit? How about how your clothes fit? Sometimes that's a good indicator too.

Cool fall day up here today but our weekend was really good. Not as warm as last year, but still very sunny. Trailer all closed up and had our holiday dinner at golf club but didn't seem like Thanksgiving since we didn't have turkey. But did have chicken & stuffing yesterday, so that was good.
But am feeling like a new start with lake activities done til next year, so starting today really doing to buckle down & drop some weight before Christmas get togethers start up, which will sneak up quickly.
Goal this week is to stay on track & get in some walks.
Judy - nice job on dropping that pound!
Cherry - your stats are amazing!
For me: 5'-3" and would love to get to 160 (then decide if I ned to drop more) Thats just under 25# and know I would feel amazing.

It looks like we all have actually very similar heights and maybe goals. I am 5'4 The tallest girl in my family ( which is kinda funny). So I am 5'4 and I am thinking i would like to have a range for maintaining of maybe 160-165 or 155-160. I can only eat so much with my stomach issues. I am thinking IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) could be one of my many problems. So i have to see where my body might naturally maintain with the amount i can eat i guess.

It's so interesting how we all want to be about the same weight. I know that every single year has 52 weeks and if I am consistent and lose 1/2#/week I'll be right about where I want to be a year from now. I promise myself this every year and yet get "stuck" around this number which doesn't work for me. My clothes are snugger than I'd like and when I look at myself in the mirror I realize I've got plenty to lose. I'm glad the weight I lost is gone, but there's more to go and this is the time to make it move.
(In the meantime, starting today and for the followingthree days we have social engagements ending with a huge wedding on Sunday) I have to do better than I have because I really want to hang onto this 1# loss and then lose the next pound. I'm sending :goodvibes: to all of us.

Well, weight stayed the same once again this week, but that is with me getting through our Thanksgiving weekend, so happy not to have gained which is usually what happens with holidays. So, taking that as a positive step forward and a personal challenge won.
Busy weekend up here, dd coming home today and later we are going to a line dancing lesson, then tomorrow a.m.is Applefest which will be nice to kick off the fall season, then tomorrow night off to horse races. So very busy tomorrow. Then on Sunday going to a physic get together at friends house, which hopefully will be interesting. In meantime, flipping through some recipes for crockpot that are point friendly.
Funny how we are basically in the same place. That should reinforce that we are not in this alone and can share more tips to get us where we all want to be.
Congrats to those who lost/maintained this week and big hug for those who are struggling. We can & will do this!

You know, Bandit, I have the exact same thoughts. Although we're not burning up cyberspace the way that we sometimes do, we are all just about in the same spot......good at maintaining, harder to lose pounds. Every time some one of us makes good progress I am so happy because it means I can do it too.

Terri, sorry I didn't chime in sooner. Things have been so busy here. WE're getting ready for our annual Halloween party plus loads of other stuff. UI have heard of wheatberries, but no clue as to what the diet or success with it would be. I am doing nicely. I have a new plan: Get ready to laugh.
My new plan is: Weight Watcher, Jenny Craig, Food Lovers Fat Loss
Here's how it works. In my freezer I've got lots of Food Lover recipes I made up ahead and froze in portions. That's like Jenny Craig in that I don't have to think of what's for dinner because something in my freezer speaks to me at dinner time. Then, it's like Weight Watchers (which I have committed to completely again) where I have pointed out the recipes so I know exactly how many points plus are involved with each food item I eat.
Then it's like Food Lovers since I am making sure I eat every three hours and I combine a slow carb, a fast carb, and protein for my meals----my snacks are simpler, but the meals have those three components. It's interesting because doing it that way means I don't have dessert with dinner. I save it for the evening the way I did with Jenny Craig. Weight Watchers is the least restrictive and I think that's why I got into a pattern where I didn't lose weight. I am counting on losing a pound this week and plan to bring that about. Yesterday a bit too much food, but today should be good!
I'll try and chime in more often. All the Turtles, when you get a chance, we love to hear from you. Also Terri, both Bandit and I posted over on the Halloween Challenge so you can check us out there.

but thats about it. My daughter just starting going gluetin free, so will see how that goes for her. I think it would be too restrictive for myself.
Judy - my oh my, busy girl with all those programmes. But if a combo works, then great! I also like the ww concept and being able to fit it in anywhere. I do well with measuring & structure. This eating til you feel full never did work for me, since I can eat volumes.
Yesterday, I stayed totally on track & kept within my points. And have my food all planned out for today. Knee feeling better, but will be awhile until
I start walking again.

Cherry - you have really done well with your programme, keep up the good work.

Okay, I checked my looseleaf for suggestions.
Here's one I've made and it's delish----none of these are as hearty as your default recipes.
1/2c. blue cheese crumbles
1 pkg. ff cream chees
1/2c FF sour cream
1c. chopped, cooked chicken (could be rotisserie)
1/4c. hot sauce--Franks (I think this is a lot! You might want to start with less and then add more)
Bake 20 minutes This is a dip and I serve it with celery
10 servings, 2 points each
24 large mushrooms, capped
1/2 pkg. chopped frozen spinach, cooked and drained
8oz. ff cream cheese softened
2 cloves minced garlic
1/2c. diced green onion
1/2 cup bacon bits
Remove stems from mushrooms. Set mushrooms aside. Dice stems and saute with green onion and garlic until tender. Add bacon bits and spinach to sofened cream cheese. Fold in sauted onion mixture. Spoon heaping spoonful into each mushroom. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 min.
Each musroom =1 point
Creamy Roasted Pepper Dip
8 oz. ff sour cream
1 7oz. jar roasted red peppers, drained
4oz. ff cream cheese
1 clove garlic , crushed
1T fresh basil leaves
1/2 t. dried oregano leaves
Blen all ingredients in a food processor until smooth. Pour into bowl and chill befoe serving.
16 servings at 0 point / serving
Serve with crudites or it could be spread on bruschetta.

We're having a Halloween party this weekend. Somewhere between 25-30 people will be here. My upstate son and his family are coming down for it and it should be a good time. As far as food, I'll have to be very careful of the portions since all the food except the salad is fattening and we will have leftovers for the next day.
