Default TOM craziness???

my TOM just showed up two weeks early!! It's super heavy, giving me AWFUL cramps and I'm so tired and weak I can barely keep my eyes open. I'm on the pill and have never experienced anything like this before-- anyone else?? Any tips to get me back on my feet??

I am having cramps ten days early- we'll see what happens, but I suspect I will be in the same boat you are in very shortly. I usually don't cramp like this, and I am extremely regular.

Yes
Their first few months on ip my Tom was totally off, even on the pill.
Estrogen is released from fat and mpacts this. Use caution-the pill can temporarily be less effective!

I had the same thing happen to me exactly. Im on the ring and was used to smooth and easy TOM but I had it 2 weeks early and I felt like a truck hit me. My advice is Thermacare lower back heat pads (I get lower back pain during TOM) and Advil. After I lost about 50lbs I even skipped a month until I started to phase off. Just expect the unexpected and always be prepared!

Hope you feel better!

I would see a doctor if I were you. When I first had this experience, I was diagnosed a little later with PCOS- not that you have it, but your hormones are clearly unbalanced by something (exercise and weight loss maybe?).

i have dealt with a completed messed up cycle since starting IP...i was a pretty on time like clock work person before and now, well, lets just say that the days without wearing protection are far and few between.

a small price to pay for finally getting the weight off in my opinion!!

it isn't pleasant but is a side effect of a ketogenic diet

thank you everyone!! barracuda, the heat has been so helpful!! I'm still feeling awful today and will definitely go to the doc if I'm not better by Monday just to make sure everything is a-ok.

My cycle was already wacky before starting IP - I'm just at that time of life...

Anyhow, I have been having issues with the really heavy flow, and my doc put me on a med called Lysteda about a year ago, which reduced it by quite a bit. Might be something to ask about. You only take it when you are having a period - not an every day med.

Also - STOP IF YOU ARE SQUEAMISH - you might try a menstrual cup, rather than other feminine products. My cup holds a lot more flow than the "ultra" tampon, so I can go much longer without having to deal with it and don't worry so much about overflow. May not be for everyone, but I also like the idea that it produces no waste. There is some good info here http://menstrualcupinfo.wordpress.com/.

Sorry if TMI, but both of these things have been very helpful for me!

TOM does all sorts of weird things on this diet. Yesterday I was spotting bad. And I am on the pill, definitely not time for TOM to come. Wen I got home from work I was so lethargic and cramping bad. Hate that, seems better today, but yesterday was rough!

I saw my gyno two weeks ago and told get about the TOM comings and goings, even while I was in the shot. My annual came out totally fine, she hocked it up to losing weight fast. Definitely started using backup birth control though. No IP babies wanted here.
