WW Clubs and Groups - ~night Owls #59~
Hey girls!!!!!
Wow.....it's been such a looooong time since I've been here.....thank God for Candice keeping the thread going.
Well, as you all know.....I've been having problems. I HAVE decided to divorce Bill. I always said that if I can walk away from this marriage knowing I've tried everything to save it and I'm still not happy......then I'm DONE! Well........let's say I'm WELL DONE! So,.......he'll be served within a couple of days. When he comes home at night.....I leave and go to a friends house until the morning. I get home around 6am to get the kids up and out to school........then I spend the days here or doing whatever it is I have to do. Lately it's been looking for a home. I'm NOT STAYING HERE.......HE WONT LEAVE ......... so I did. Anyway, nuff about that. The kids are taking it better than I thought. That's all that really matters anyway......my kids.
As per my weight.......well.....let's just say that stress is working! :D I'm down to about 190.....from the 200 mark again and it's slowly but surely coming off. Been following the program as well as I can and that's all I can ask for.
I hope you're all doing well.
Cya soon,

Hi ya PJ...........Sorry to hear that you and Bill can't work things out..but ya gotta do what ya gotta do! I was afraid of that when you were not posting. This must be so stressful for you..good job on your eating:D Keep us posted..you need to let it all out and you can do that here!
Fruit whip....
1 20oz. can crushed pineapple, 2 150z cans of peaches, 1 11oz. can mandarin oranges. A 6oz. container of yogurt, and 4 oz. cool whip. I used a cup of sliced strawberries, and 1 cup sliced green grapes. I imagine you could used any kind of fresh fruit you have and like. I imagine blueberries would be very good. It does make a large batch, but it keeps well. I like it on my cereal in the morning. And it makes a great dessert. Very versatile. 3/4 cup is 1 pt.

Hi everyone! Seems like everyone has left the nest except a few! I wonder where everyone has gone? Well I hadn't weighed myself in a long time. Infact, the last time I did weigh myself was on the 5th of April and I just weighed myself this past Saturday and I was down 6 pounds. I was thrilled to say the least. I did not expect that at all. I have no idea what I did because I was not watching, counting, journaling or anything for those few weeks and I seemed to have gone down from where I was before the 5th! So now I'm back to journaling and keeping track, although today was not such a great day because we had teacher appreciation week this week and today the parents made and brought in a whole bunch of foods for lunch and dessert. They were all so yummy. Doesn't help either that there are tons of leftovers, but I'm going to be good and not touch them. I'll keep to what I bring for lunch! Hopefully I can break the 170's. I'm currently at 174. My friend/co-teacher was there at her starting point when she started weight watchers. So if she can do it, I can do it!
so how is everyone else doing these days? Has anyone else heard from anyone else that hasn't posted in a looooooooong time? Did they all fly the coop?
Well, I'll talk to you soon. Take care everyone!

Erica that is wonderful and it is good to hear from an owl! I'm still staying the same despite being op faithfully! Gets discouraging but I refuse to give up and eat evrything in site!
Finished the flower bed I was digging and dividing..took me forever! It should be good for another 3 years....now my iris need divided but I will probably wait..never seem to have the energy or time in the fall when it needs to be done. There is just too much to do around here anymore. Got some pansies potted but that is it for now..will make a trip this week to buy more flowers for my pots!

Went to get my hair trimmed today and we got to talking and she cut it way too short..but it will grow. (It is just touching my shoulders now and I have a short neck!) Hope I can still put it up like I like to wear it. The gal cutting my hair thinks her DH has Firbro triggered by a car accident..she said he is drving her nuts with his complaing of pain and he is on a pain patch.
Got into a bag of caramels this week:eek:

Well..we made it though 3 days of severe weather! Tonight we spent two hours in the basement waiting for it to pass and since it is still dark out we do not know if we have any damage...some places not to far from here were flattened (so the news said). Susan are you ok........you live where it was really bad!
DS was driving home in all this and yelled at us cause we had the outside door locked and he couldn't get in! It was kinda funny..he was drenched...looked like a wet puppy! I hate these storms...too many tonados this season!
Friday I went to the small local nursery and bought $200.00 worth of bedding plants. Now to get it all in and not have it destroyed by storms! It is all stored in the gargage and the gargare is still standing..........Need to get it in within the next week or so.
Have any of you heard of these candy bars?

The news said it was a long track F3 tonado, which means it stayed on the ground for 19 miles straight and was 3/4 of a mile wide at 200 - 250 miles per hr. Everyone had good warning so their are no fatalities but those poor people who lost everything and have no insurance..just so sad! We had no damage this time around, thank the Lord! (oh it was about 20 miles from here) and there were 5 tonados total in 2 hours.
......I bought impatients(coral), begonias( pink dark leaf), bacopa, vinca vine, ivy, marigolds (big yellow ones for my garden), ageratem (blue), salvia(red), vinca(gape cooler), Butterfly plant (looks like yellow daises), Samantha Lantana (yellow with varigated leaves), nemesia (little purple flowers), Licorice plant , verbinias and two hanging baskets (bright pink gerainiums and new guinia impatients. (excuse the spelling of the flowers!) I already have my pansies potted. Oh picked up 8 tomatoe plants too but too wet here to put anything in yet and more rain coming this week.
Ate below pts yesterday..no appetite but am makeing up for it today..made some brownies and ate 4 :)
Candicej
05-14-2003, 04:34 AM
.....my eating has been going well, only had 3 brownies today ..and still op. :D
Worked 4 hours hand tilling the patch in front of the garden for my large yellow marigolds...24 of them. I had take the cover off, then use a shovel to loosen up the soil so it could dry out, break up the clumps of mud, and fertilizer add some top soil and use a garden claw to mix it all up and then rake it even and recover it, then I planted the flowers. Too much work for me, my son usally does the hard stuff (digging) but is to busy looking for a new grilfriend and a job to help me! Now I have to do the same thing to the vegetable garden!!!!!!!!!! I must have earned about 4 pts!
PJ that quote on kicking yourself was a good one!:)
Wow!!!! Alot of MIA's around here and I'm one of them. My whole life has changed and I either didn't have the time to post or just didn't feel up to it. Sorry guys....but I don't like to boo-hoo too much on here and that's all it would have been. On a lighter note......things are looking up and slowly getting better. Bill still hasn't left the house so I've been sleeping at my friends place and then coming here around 5am when he leaves for work to get the kids off to school and take care of the house. As soon as he gets home in the pm....I leave. For the past week or so.....the kids wanted to stay with me and that made me feel good. Bill is just so da** miserable all of the time.....yelling at everyone and just being a miserable human being that even the kids don't want to be around him anymore. Sooooo, he should get served today.....BUT!!!!!! I just found out he's flying to La. for a few days and it will have to wait until he gets back....hopefully on Friday. Then I can move back in here for a few more weeks until I move to Tenn. Yep......I bought a house in Tenn. I love it! A two-story with a stream in the back and lots of room for my horses. By the way, I got another horse.....his name is Pegasus and is a Polish Arabian.....he's 14 years old and used to belong to Burt Reynolds. I got a kick out of that. Anyway, the woman who previously owned him couldn't afford or take care of him anymore and she just gave him to me. Someone who had my "horse rescue" card gave her my number and she didn't want him to go to just anyone by selling him. Sooooooo, I'm the lucky one. He's a little high strung and you need to know what you're doing but he's had excellent training and does just about anything and everything you want him to do.
I haven't been on program for a while (probably since my last post) and am just trying to "BE SMART" and eat what I can when I'm hungry......making good choices. I'd like to start back OP soon. I need to get my sh** together first. I'm sure you know what I mean.
Soooooooo, Candice......it sounds like you'll have a beautiful garden again this year. Can't wait to see it all.
Well, it's time I took a shower and got out of here. Lots of things to do today........I'll keep you all up to date as best I can.
I hope you are ALL doing well and let's see if we can get this forum back on track.
So long for now.....

Had a scare out in the yard yesterday...my right leg (which happens to be my good leg) would not let me put weight on it, I thought I would never get back to the house! Then I did some stretches and it was ok. Then it happend when I got up out of my recliner inside too! Today it has been ok. My hips are getting really bad and my yard work harder to do each year!
NUTRITION NEWS FOCUS
"Nutrition news is important. We help you understand it!"
Today's Topic: Nuts to High Cholesterol
Yet another study of feeding nuts has shown a reduction in serum cholesterol levels. This time, walnuts, which are rich in polyunsaturated fats, replaced about 35 percent of the calories obtained from monounsaturated fat in a Mediterranean diet. About 50
middle-aged people in Spain with elevated cholesterol levels completed the trial. Reductions in total and LDL cholesterol averaged about 4 to 6 percent.
It is not clear what the active ingredient in the nuts is that lowers cholesterol. While speculation has focused on the fat content, it could be vegetable protein, soluble fiber, or trace minerals. The bottom line is that nuts can be a healthy addition to almost any diet. This study appeared in the April 4, 2000 issue of the Annals of
Internal Medicine.
HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: Previous studies with almonds and peanuts (which are not nuts but legumes) showed reductions in risk factors for heart disease. It is important to remember that nuts are high in fat and calories. Simply adding them to the diet means a certain weight gain _ they have to replace something else.

Well..I hurt my back Monday moving the washer and dryer out to clean...I think it is just a strain but I can't sit for very long so have my exercise mat on the livingroom floor along with the heating pad and my tennis balls and a stretchy band to help me work out the pain. I want an MRI on my hips and lower back but the docs do not want to order them. I have not been there this time..trying to treat it on my own. I will go if it is not better next week. All they want to do is give you meds and I can't take them so trying to get a handle on this myself. Since I have lost weight I seem to injure myself more :(
The trip to my mom's will have to wait..can't ride in a car right now let alone drive myself!
Candicej
06-16-2003, 12:58 AM
Yes we do have stong wind here..sometimes I wonder why I put all my flowers in. Today I had to prune back some more wind damage to shrubs and bushes, trees and my begonias. I think everything will come out of it though. Fertilized tonight when I watered.
My back is ok as long as I keep moving and wear some support. It is when I sit for too long it really hurts. Can't ride in the car....and when I am doidng my exercises the pelcic tilt and cat stretch really hurt! Been stretching on my exercise ball too!
Candicej
06-18-2003, 04:48 AM
I could hardley move when I got up so I did my stretching and went out to help DS do some more pruning form our stong winds, stuff that was too high and I could not reach it. Then we ate and DH mowed and I went for a long walk.
Forgot my pedometer so not sure how many miles but at least 3 and was on the move for over an hour and a half, had to stop and do some stretching along the way and my hip and back hurt so bad but I was determined I was gonna walk the pain away. When I got home I swept and moped the basement. The walk gave me more energy but did nothing for the pain. I was listening to the radio so my speed varried from slow to a moderate trot...(to different music). I would love to do this everyday..we will see how I feel tomorrow;)
Candicej
06-19-2003, 06:36 AM
My son got back early from his little vacation to lake
Superior..I was looking forward to a few more days without him
If I have the 3 MRI's, low back and both hips we have to pay 1000 out of pocket so DH is trying to talk me out of it..but I have not even seen the doc yet. Seemed alittle easier to bend today but that part is just muscle I know already. I just want to make sure I do not have a problem that my exercising or overdoing willl make much worse. It's probably just the fibro...but this pain feels different?
Gonna be a nice one today..rain yesterday so no walk....we nee d the rain too.
My roses have that ugly black spot I am trying to get under control..it is so hard once it starts..and with my back I let it go for a week and it has taken overeek:

Yes it is cooler here and we got 3 inches of much needed rain but others got way too much and flooding! We have been eating zucchini and cucumbers and I picked a few cherry tomaotes today before I sprayed for insects and fungus. My arms hurt from lugging the gallon sprayer around. Took 4 gallons of stuff to get it all covered! But then we had unforecated rain so not sure if it will take.
The poor fish..he is just resting on the bottom of the tank with his fins dropping and some times looks like he is gasping for air. He just has no energy. I have treated him all I can....maybe it is his time to go like Siwa said....The dog is bad too, she can no longer get up the basement steps or down after we carry her up to go out. I am cleaning up after her all the time..too much for me!
Busy trying to get my sons stuff together for his big move...sheets, towlels pillows, and a few supplies to get him started..Aug 1 will be here before you know it!

I so desperately need to get back into the swing of things and I hate just disappearing from the message board for a long length of time. Jeff and I were on vacation this past week and it didn't do me any good at all. I've gained 5 lbs during that time and 2 lbs prior to vacation! So now, tomorrow is the brand new start of my weight loss and I have to be strong and determined. It's alot of talk I'm dishing out. Now I just have to do it and prove it to myself!
well, I must get ready, Going on a boat ride to do some dolphin watching. I'll talk to you later!

Just a quick update..I'm just plain worn out! Got DS off last FRiday and he got there safely but his roomate had car trouble and did not get there on Friday so my son had to unload and move in all by himself! He survived without me......I still felt bad that he was all alone in a new place his first night! Cleaned up his room here and had to move stuff from the hallway into it for now..having a new mattress delivered for dH and me...The old one is 26 years old!
The dog is still with us for now..but it is really wearing on me. The vet said to try the new arthritis drug for dogs and it made her sick...a big mess everywhere! WE have restarted it in a smaller dose so far so good, but we have not seen much improvement.
The bees are still here but most of them are drowning in the water...how stupid are they?
WEll...I know for sure I am not a stress or emotional eater cause I have lost 3 pounds now (my Cookie gain from last Christmas). All this anxiety keeps me hopping!
